hockey seasons right around the corner.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I can see Josh actually, but I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Let's see. Let's pull it up right here, Hey, Montana,

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Maybe Zoobie, Maxie Zuber love it? Okay, yeah, to text him,

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Oh I didn't know? What's blowish? Actually?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah? Yeah, how about that?

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Here was one my best bodies last season too, and
it's it's great to see him again.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah, it was fun. Fun to catch up. And then
after our interview we'll ask you. It's a nominate, get there? Yeah,
So tell us about uh season ends. You go straight
to Europe playing the World Championships for the second straight year.
How was that?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
It was great. I mean, even though we didn't get
silver or any metal this year and lost in the quarters,
but it's great to have the boys bag. I mean,
it was kind of the same team as last year.
It's like kind of a small German family back there.
So yeah, it was a lot of fun, and I
think it was just nice to see the guys after
year and having fun together, going out, maybe going for

(06:20):
dinners and playing playing the best sports in the worlds
again together.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Speaking of family, was there another member of our family
that's going to be joining us playing with you in the.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
As I yeah, let's not bring it too far, but
the I think so. I think Latsie might come over
or is pretty sure coming over. See where he ends up.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
And yeah, Jillian LUTs Johnny, I saw him in development camp.
He did. The guy we've been excited about for a while,
he did.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah, I've I've been working on the rosters for the
upcoming season. Saw him when I was working on his bio.
Saw that you two played in the del Championship.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
We are know him a long time.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Yes, what can fans expect from him this season if
he does end up playing with the road Runners?

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Very Fasca to play here, Like I talked about a
couple of other guys about him, and he's like probably
one of the most skilled players I've ever seen. So
it's kind to be exciting to see him here, see
what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Another another player out of Germany, second round draft pick
in twenty twenty two, played with Green Bay in the
USHL last year.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Pretty good.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah, sixty eight point fifty games.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
That's pretty decent. Kind of die.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
So we're imagining since you've known him a while, you've
been teammates with him. Pretty good guy, great guy, Like.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
I know him now for when I was thirteen, so
almost nine years now, and yeah, it's just an unbelievable guy.
It's just so fun to be around him. It's like
kind of my small brother now, like it wasnt Munich.
I kind of was all the time with him and
he was always there for me. So it's like kind
of like my small brother. As I said, awesome, awesome.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Can't wait to see him at uh IT camp again
and uh excited you have the season going.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
I'm excited to see him too. Actually, what have you.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Been up to this summer? After World Championships and now
back in uh in Arizona? What have you done between.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
I was working out back home in Dusseldorf, Germany, was
doing pretty good, went on vacation, my girlfriend came over,
had a nice vacation, and unfortunately after that, I got
my tonsils removed, so I was kind of stuck for
three weeks. But yeah, after the three weeks, I came
here and uh, it's time to work hard again.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Any favorite tonsils removed? Food that you had, like milkshakes
or anything.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Ice cream, ice cream, ice cream, it works pretty good
with it. That was that kind of the thing I
I got the most, so totally totally. Yeah. It just
kind of numbed the whole pain there and just were
good with it.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Be kept in touch with the guys we mentioned in
Rapid Fire, Aku Josh Mike because we did him because
they were your your roommates at the beginning of the year,
at least a lot of moving parts in that house.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Yeah. I texted Acu couple of times. How he is doing,
when he's coming, Yeah, just basic questions. I saw Josh
a week ago, also on the wedding here, and yeah,
it was nice to see him again. Very very fun
guy to be around. And I saw Kess actually at
the World Championships, So I did a lot of things
there with him, even though he was my not friend

(09:43):
this time, but yeah, we went out for dinners and
it was obviously nice to see him there again.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Maxie, as I mentioned before, you won the d L
Championship in twenty two twenty three, and then instantly right
after that you came to North America to play hockey
for the road Runners and then in the NHL. What
was that adjustment, like, you know, winning a championship in
Europe and then coming straight to North America right after.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Well, it's it's different hockey here. I would say, everything smaller, harder, faster.
It was a lot to adjust, but yeah, Slain's helped
me a lot with it, Like he was probably the
coach who came up to me and said like, hey, here,
we should do things a little bit different. And throughout
the year, I feel like I approved a lot because

(10:28):
of him and also Potsy and stories, but Slain's helped
me the most obviously because he's our d coach. And yeah,
it was just a lot to adjust, but I feel
like I'm more mature enough for the smaller ice, and yeah,
it's it's great to have those coaches that can help me.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
The interesting thing about that is he started in North
America obviously, and then went to Europe, so he made
me exact opposite just.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
That. Yeah, he told me about it. He loved Germany though,
he said, so it was was kind of great.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
All the guys that go over there seem to have
a great time and want to stay and pots. He
played over there too for for a number of years over.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Yeah, he played. I think it was winning in I
don't know, but yeah, I heard he left it there too.
I feel like Europe is the spots to be if
you want to just enjoy your career. I mean, it's
pretty competitive. I'm not gonna lie. That's here. It's like
a little bit tougher and everything.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Was there anything at the beginning of the year that
you're adjusting to and then at the end of the
year you don't even think about it after playing a
full full six months.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Oh that's a good question. Actually, well, I feel like
you still try to adjust small things all the time.
But hm, maybe just adjusting to the smaller eyes all
the time. So it's just hard for especially for European players. Yeah,
I'll see how L's He's saying, I mean he was
in Green Bay last year, but I'll see how he

(12:00):
going to do in the AHL or maybe.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
NHL MAXI one thing Age and I look like because
we're broadcast, so we're really big on the stats. And
one big stat you had from last season was your
plus minus of plus four team, which was best on
the team, best ever from a roadrunner, rookie defenseman. And
you know, other people say that that status irrelevant, but

(12:23):
we think it's a big thing because it just shows
how great of a defenseman you were. What do you
think that tells about the season that you had in Tucson.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Yeah, I feel like sometimes it's kind of lucky. I
mean if you if you're on the ice and a
lucky go or if you're on the ice and a
lucky goal against. But yeah, I feel like we had
a great team and I think we all could tell
five on five you were probably one, maybe the best
team in the league. Unfortunately it didn't work out that
that well as we thought that. Yeah, we had great teammates,

(12:54):
and I feel like it's a team sport. End everyone
helps with that stats. So wherever I was on the
ice with especially Karate Cam Krowdy he was mostly my partner.
Pretty solid fansman Like, if you have a guy like
that with you on the ice, you just kind of
know like he's always going to help me out and
he's going to be there for me. So I feel

(13:16):
like this that is kind of showing if you have
great teammates or not too.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Yeah, and with Cam Krotty going to the Iowa Wild
and you know, as every AHL team goes, there's gonna
be a lot of changes, and we also bolstered up
our blue line a lot too. How excited are you
for the upcoming season with the new team that we have.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Oh, I'm super excited. I just I'm gonna miss a
couple of guys obviously, but I'm also super excited to
meet a new team and see how we're doing actually
as a as a whole new group and maybe a
whole new family. Hopefully we can go far and have
a lot of fun together.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Tell us about the NHL debut. We had the most
call ups last season, and you know, it was just
a matter of time until you got your call up
and you got your NHL debut. But as that was
all going on, did you just have a feeling that
was going to happen or you were you very surprised.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
I was kind of more surprised because actually, at that time,
af ter Y, you just trying to focus on payoffscause
it was kind of in the end, so I was
not even close to thinking about that. So I was
kind of surprised. But yeah, I was a dream coming
true and I was pretty nervous, to be honest. So yeah,
I mean it's like the best league in the world

(14:28):
and you you get to play in that. So I
was very scared and also like proud of myself. But yeah,
so I hope I can get that one more time.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
And you've had you've had quite the journey already, and
you've you've just cracked into the North America Hockey you know,
just winning the championship in Germany and coming to the HL,
making your NHL debut, but you had to move, you know,
across the world to come play here. You know, just
what adjustment was that like? And what advice do you
have for any other player who has to do the

(15:01):
same thing in the future.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Oh, that's a good one. Actually it was hard because
of the family, but I think especially with Arizona Toosome,
it's a place you want to actually be. Like I
talked to my family about it and my friends. I
just love it here, like the weather, the kind of
friends you get, like they helped me out a lot.

(15:25):
Family also, like they kind of got to a family
and it was just a lot of fun. And I
feel like you should just try to enjoy the game
and friends with you, and then everything comes bad soulf
And that's how it went last year. I feel like
I had so much fun and I'm so super excited
for the next season too.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
What was it like for your family back home being
able to watch our games? Like what time a day
was it and did they watch live or did they
watch it on demand or had they handle it?

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah? I got to give some props to my family there.
They they watched almost every game, actually maybe even every game.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
But yeah, so what time, what time of day was it?
Like it was four thirty mostly for them.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
In the morning. In the morning, yeah, the morning for.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Thirty in the morning. They woke up mostly at two.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Yeah, overnight hockey. You know that sounds awesome. You know,
I want to get up at two in the morning
and just watch hockey.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Yeah, that was.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Seventy two times Johnny Okay, maybe not two times sounds
like a lot on the back to backs.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
That is a commitment.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Yeah, they they had a hard time with that. I
feel like they also were like kind of sometimes sorry
for falling asleep for a period. I'm like, come on, guys,
like you watch this games for me. You don't have
to watch every game. And I appreciate that so much
for my family because they're always behind me and I'm
very glad to have them with me.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
That's something like my family like can't even make for
the end of the California games, like the eight o'clock games.
They're like done at the first their mission because they're
just so tired.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
So in Max, as you said, you know you're you're
super excited for for next season, but you know the
experience of your first season in North America. Anything that
you're really looking most forward to for season number two?

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Oh, I think just getting even stronger and more mature.
And I feel like it's the whole life is about learning,
and I feel like you can never learn enough, especially
with the with the game always growing faster or stronger.
So yeah, I feel like it's just to learn more
and have more fun.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Is there anything in Tucson that you experienced for the
first time that maybe you've missed over the summer. Then
coming back to Arizona you're excited to get back to.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Probably the Mexican food, I mean Chipposa is part of it,
because in Europe we have chipo, but not that often,
so I didn't get to read it. But probably obviously
the weather, because I don't know, I feel like the
sun to see so much better. Vibe sends, Yeah, you're
kind always happy. So actually I feel like the sun

(18:15):
is the most there, so.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Totally totally agree with you. What do you think about
one hundred and ten degrees?

Speaker 4 (18:27):
I mean, you should stay here for the season. It's
most so it's it's nice.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Yeah, all right, Maxie, Now we've got one more surprise.
We're gonna give you a BuzzFeed quiz.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Oh I almost forgot about that. Yes, but we're gonna forget.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
We're gonna let Maxie pick out what quiz we give him.
It's a personality quiz, so I'll ask you a bunch
of questions and then it'll tell you something about yourself. Okay,
all right, so here are examples. You either have an
old soul or a young Soul. Pick eight of your
favorite songs to reveal your match. Option one, What soup
are you? Enjoy a massive meal? And we'll match you

(19:06):
with your perfect cookie from this week's Crumble lineup and
craft your perfect day at the fair and we'll give
you a US city to visit that totally matches your
fun side. Or we'll just pick the quiz, Maxie, any
preferences you can pick? Actually, okay, Johnny, which one should

(19:28):
we do? Have we done the soup one? Now I'm
kind of curious about that. We want to find out
what soup is, Maxie.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Yeah, okay, let's do this soup fair enough?

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Last time you get to pick our BuzzFeed Johnny, all right,
all right, Maxy, here we go. Pick a classic rock
band Eagles, Aerosmith, The Beatles, Queen, Talking Heads, Led, Zeppelins, YouTube, Fleetwood, Mac.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Kind of like Queen.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Okay, Queen is good, got it? I love Queen. It
has been said that pace it. It has been said
that patience is a virtue. Do you have a lot
of patience? Yes, I have a lot of patience. I'd
say have a decent amount of patients. It depends on
who slash what I'm dealing with. I'd say I have
about an average amount of patients. Not really, No, I'm

(20:16):
the furthest thing from a patient person. I'm the firstest,
furthest thing from a virtuous person, let alone a patient person.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
I'll be kind of stuck in between. I would say average,
and it depends on the situation. Actually fair enough, pretty common,
pretty common, nothing special that I got it.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Which member from One Direction was your favorite? Harry, Liam Lewis,
zayn Neill Nile. I have no clue all of them.
I don't pick favorites. I don't care about One Direction.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
To be honest, I heard one a song of them
that I don't know too much about them, so I'll
probably say another band too much.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Okay, I don't care about One Direction. All right. You're
with a friend at the bar and they're whining about
their ex. What do you do? Listen to them and
be a supportive, caring friend. Listen to them and then
provide advice, which they will probably ignore. Pretend to listen
and nod in agreement when they start ranting. Take their

(21:18):
phone from them. They probably want to text their X.
Encourage them to text their X. If just for the plot,
change the subject immediately try to distract them with something
so they forget about the X, Remind them what a
jerk their X was to begin with, and that they're
so much better off without them.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
It's depended on the X too, like what I know
from friends. But yeah, I would say either supports him
then kind of be there for him, or just be
for a loan, like take the phone away whatever. Like Yep,
not good like in a friendly way.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
This quiz is awesome, but this was interesting. This is
a different one.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
This is a nightmare. Okay, I'll take Let's see which
one are we gonna take? I guess listen to them
and be a supportive, caring friend. It's our best option.
All right. You're invited to a very fancy dinner party.
What do you bring? A very expensive bottle of bread wine,

(22:17):
a very expensive bottle of white wine, an incredibly lavish
dish you made yourself because you're an elitist snob, dessert
something you saw on TikTok and decided to make, garlic bread,
or a nice French baguette charcouterie, or your personality.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
I'll go with red one. Actually, okay, pretty too good?

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Good? All right? What's the best Christmas movie Elf. It's
a wonderful life a Christmas story. Love Actually Home Alone?
How the Grinch stole Christmas? National Lampoon's Christmas vacation or
die Hard?

Speaker 4 (22:53):
That's pretty obvious. I mean it's Home Alone. I just
back home all the time. Watched this movie and it's like,
give me the feeding to be home with the family
and what's awesome. Yeah, I just loved the movie.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
I like it too classic. I love ELF.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Two. That house was the home Alone house is for sale,
I think in Chicago it is, Yeah, for like seven
million bucks's sale. Yeah, it's for sale. The nice older
lady living near you is under the weather, so you
decide to baker cookies to cheer up. What type of
cookies do you make? Chocolate chip, monster, snicker doodle, ginger, molasses, sugar,
cookies with icing, peanut butter, oatmeal, raisin. I would literally

(23:30):
never make cookies for a neighbor.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
That chip be nice.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Yeah, that's cool. Which cozy winter bedroom do you choose? Well,
this is strange.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
It's it's just pictures.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Yeah, let me let me zoom in here. It's hard
to see. Can you go more to the You're right,
I think.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
Yeah, here is MM, it's so funny. People can't say
I like it.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
I like the modern one, the second ride, the second
that's good. I just look.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
For people who are listening right here, camera, right now, Max.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
Right here, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
This is like Maxie's patient question that started the buzzby
Quiz's so that right now? All right? Finally, finally, which
eighteen hundreds named you vibe with the most? Gilbert Cecil, Lester,
Nigel Myrtle, Bertha Gertrude, or Dolores Master got it? Okay,

(24:42):
we got it? Here we go. You are tomato basil soup.
You're not for everyone, but that's okay. Personally, I think
you're just divine. You always compliment and boost up those
around you.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
That's I don't mind that.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Do you like tomato basil soup.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
I'm not a big souper, but if there's tomato soup,
it probably takes on.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
So it's a drilled cheese with some grilled cheese tomato soup.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Really good? Yeah, perfect for a nice and degree day
in Arizona.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
Yeah, it's a little tough. Maybe wait till the winter
to eat that, and then we're good.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
All right, Johnny, thanks for selecting the BuzzFeed quiz.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
I thought it was pretty really specific for a soup.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
What type of soup? Johnny and I will take this
quiz too and let the folks know what we are, right, Yeah,
we should and then and then we'll text you, we'll
let you know, we'll let you know what what what
soups we are? Maxie? Who should we talked to next
on the podcast?

Speaker 4 (25:44):
That's a good one. Do you guys talk to Josh already?

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Nope? We have not.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
No, Yeah, I'll.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
All right, we'll get We'll get Josh and you know what,
it's gonna be the zacht same week we talked to
him last week or last year really, second weekend in September. Really,
me and Kim just stall and waiting for Johnny to
get to Tucson Josh on the second week, second week
is September.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Waiting for me to get here finally.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Yeah, what do you got going on the rest of
the night, Maxie?

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Probably just god for for dinner somewhere, and that's kind
of it.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
What are you hungry for?

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Three?

Speaker 2 (26:27):
What are you hungry for?

Speaker 4 (26:29):
Culinary? I think, because as I said, it's the favorite one.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
So I love Coulinary drop Out. You've been to Coinary
drop Out Tucson. It's on Grant Road on about Tucson Boulevard.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Have to go try it.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Yeah, it's good to go try it. Yeah, you'd like it.
You'd like it and you play the games and stuff there.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Yeah, you have some not right now, but I mean
we had some team dinners there, so we definitely had
some some competition there.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
But did Johnny Johnny mispronounced Munich Munich. It's Munich Munich.
I apologize? What about how do you pronounce your hometown, Maxie,
like the one in Poland? Oh?

Speaker 4 (27:14):
Like you want my English pronunciation or Polish one?

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Oh? Yeah? How you how you say it?

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Like actually in Polish?

Speaker 2 (27:24):
So Johnny was kind of close.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
I watched the video. Actually you did make sure I
said that right. But then I say the team wrong.
So that's great.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
Because I was wondering. I was wondering, and then the
way you said Munich, I'm like, we need to go
and correct it.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
We need to go correct Oh that's embarrassing, right, I apologize.
I apologize everyone.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
That's ok, Johnny, Adrian, I got a question for you too, though,
because yeah, a couple of my bodies when he judged
me about my English. I hope it didn't get worse.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
So are you it's really good?

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Yeah, you're like, I don't want to say names, but
the idiot there, Josh Man man set so.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
No, it's it's really good. Man, you're you're fine if.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
You can come on this podcast and then take that
BuzzFeed quiz which we did not pre screen at all
and be totally fine. I think you're all right man.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
Great, Okay, please let him know that he's wrongs.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Yes, we will, we will, we will definitely, Yeah, we
will tell Josh how great which is it's really good
and you're fun.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
We had a good time. Any more questions for us?

Speaker 4 (28:37):
No, that's good, thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
All right, buddy, Hey, thanks a lot for joining us.
I'm so glad to have you back. Getting ready for
another season and we'll see you, uh see in a
few weeks at camp. And if you need any anything
in the meantime, just uh dill us up here on
the podcast. Let us know. We'll make sure you're good
and we will tell Josh that you said hi.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
All right, perfect, thank you, thanksappreciate it.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Well, that was one of the interviews, Johnny that, uh,
we could have started the interview when the interview ended,
because I think anybody listening to that would be like,
do these guys know the mics are on? Does anybody
know the mics are on? They're recording? This is live
on the podcast. What a pleasure.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
That was awesome.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
That was worth the wait. Maximilian Zuber joining us the
lead off September right here on the podcast.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Yeah, it's great. He was in Phoenix too. Yeah, right here,
you're asking each other where could he be?

Speaker 2 (29:31):
We could have drove up and met it. But the
roh Yeah, on the on the east side of the valley.
So school that he's still staying local and seems like
it's having a good summer. Yeah, excited to to get
him back. Coming up in just a few minutes. You
and I are going to draft all time road vender rookies. Yep,
and uh, I think there might be, uh might be
a little bit of a race to see who can

(29:53):
take who can get Max. Yeah, right right there after
you go the season that he had one of six
NHL debuts for the read Runners last year. All right,
soups MAXI was Tomato Basil we just took the quiz.
I was broccoli and cheddar. No way, Yeah, I was too.
You were that excited about broccoli and cheddar.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
I love broccoli and cheddar soup. You didn't, really, Yeah,
you're not a big fan of that.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
That's fine, it's fine. No, it's fine, it's fine.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Before we took the quiz, I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah, it's fine. It's just the way that you reacted.
You cut out, you were broccoli and cheddar. I was
just expecting a little age.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
And I were taking the quiz and it was just silence.
And then when I caught my answer, I shouted out,
let's go, And then you were like what I said,
I got a soup that I really liked. Do you
want to read the description or you want?

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (30:42):
You read, so this one is. Yeah, your broccoli and
cheddar soup, your cozy, comforting and served best in a
bread bowl. People return to your presence time and time
again because they know they can rely on you.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Sounds like the podcast. It is the podcast why people
download and listen.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
They rely on us.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
To a liver, how about uh, we might have some
some Jerry Springer next week with Josh Done with Maxi
MAXI had some you know, the rapid fire.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Oh yeah, I yes, idiot.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
That's some more uh the more playful. I don't know,
maybe they were some more playful jabs at the end.
But I've reached out to Josh. He's uh probably agreed
to come on the podcast with us. So we'll we'll
get a day and time set and uh look forward
to him next week on the podcast. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
I can't wait to show him what, you know, the
things Max he said about him. I think we have
to play those clips. Potentially.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
We've kind of gone in spurts on roommates this year.
Didn't we go Balalta, Drew Dolbatory, Uh, We're gonna go Zoomer.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
And yeah with I feel like with the conversation of
you know, living in that hockey house comes up, but
I feel like he's either gonna go with Aku Ratsu
or Michael kessel Ring. Yeah, and then whoever we get
next will potentially go with the last roommates. So I
wouldn't be shocked if we get all four of the roommates, uh,
in four shows in a row.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
That's how it's gone. Man, Johnny, we were talking last week,
like we do this every week. But there's not enough
weeks in the off season to get everybody. No, it's
not missing people. Yeah, we're running out of time. We
talked about we had Patrick kach On, Yes, going down,
going down, going down. Maybe we've done a pretty good

(32:33):
job this. I'm thinking, yeah, he's come on. We haven't
had Melos d we had McCartney re termas Baron, we
had Douglas. We have usually h doesn't do podcasts, usually
ops out, uh Ratu. We had Drew.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
We had Lipkin with he big Okay, so maybe we are.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
We had uh Elevatory, we had late more did have
like oh yeah, we had Maxie Zuber waiting for Cotch,
had on your Bucci, had Balta, had Thornton. Haven't had Wells.
So there's probably probably.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Another month and we could squeeze in the squeeze those guys.
But we have some Maybe if we have time, get
some of the newer guys. You talked to Robbie Russo already. Yeah,
we have robb We had Robbie Russo So, I mean,
well Gavin, yeah, yeah, So if we if we have time,
we'll try to get the new guys too, and so
you know, we can introduce him to the fans. But yeah, honestly,
now I think about it more, I think we can

(33:33):
totally do it, Adrian, I don't know why. When we've
initially thought about we're like, man, we have we don't
have much time left. But we've talked to a lot
of guys.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
We have talked.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
You've talked to a lot of guys too, well.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
While I was gone, yeah, we've done everything possible to
to jam everybody in. There's there's spend nothing like, oh,
it's July fourth, next week, so we'll talk to you
the week of the seventeen.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
None that we make it.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
We're here, We're here, We're here a single week. In fact,
July fourth is when I tape my interview with Jake Wagman.
I was going to drive up to Park City in
my wrecked car, and Jake's like, do you want to
go earlier because the guys were done with practice and
coaches want to go on a hike or something. I'm like,

(34:15):
I am an hour from home because I'm on a
twelve mile run, and I'll text you want to get back?
And then I got home, I'm like I'll be there
in half hour. He's like, you just want to do
it on the computer. Can you do it on the
phone because the guys want to leave now. I was
like all right, yeah, So eleven thirty am on July fourth,
I did an interview with nice but Jake. Yeah July third,
head Will Gavin. There was no holiday before the holiday,

(34:38):
like we go on this podcast.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
We keep doing it. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
One thing we talked about kind of the last couple
of weeks is I think the Roadrunners are going to
be the first place team in the Pacific. We think
they're going to be the favorite first place team in
the Pacific. And we don't just make these claims, uh unfounded, Johnny, Yes,

(35:03):
we don't. We We've done our research. We've got all
nine teams that we play in the Pacific Division. Got
him sized up, because Johnny, I've been saying for like
last month, believed to be Coachella Valley lost their top
nine leading scores, five of the six leading scores lost
five of their top six. Okay, leading scores has lost.

(35:27):
So I go down this list. We we did a
deep dive. I spent pretty much all day yesterday researching
the Pacific Division. I still think Roadrunners first. Do you
know who I think UH is gonna have a really
good team this year. Abbotsford seven of their top ten
leading scorers back, They've signed Eerie peterai One always felt

(35:50):
that he was a really really good goalie. Henderson, they
just don't score, and they've got Nathan Smith. I think
Abbotsford is going to be uh a team to watch
this year.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
That's a big one, big signing, a couple of big
signings for them, and it'll be great seeing Nathan Smith again.
And yeah, you know, it's tough when you have a
goaltender like Paterra where when your team's not scoring a lot,
you don't really get highlight of the highlighted of their play.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Yeah. I thought he was the second best goal in
the division in twenty for a year and a half. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
They also extended sealofs to uh yeah Vancouver, but yeah
he's earned that spot. So again, that just shows the
goaltending death that they are going to have this year
and that we always highlight the goaltending death and that's
what the Roadrunners did too, So uh That's that's what's
always so excited about HL offseasons. I Mean, you can
have one team that you know they did good Opensford

(36:43):
had a good year, they made the playoffs, but then
all of a sudden, they make all these moves and
it's like, look at them now, you know, they can
definitely be in competition for the first play spot too.
And then again for Coachella Valley losing all of their players.
But and we we literally hit on it all the time.
Adrian players just want to come to the West, you know,
like it's it happens every single year. And uh, Andrew

(37:04):
Agazino is a big example for us. He went he
played in San Jose. Oh sorry, he was in San Diego,
went to San Jose, went back to San Diego, and
now he's with us. He just continues to stay in
the Pacific Division and he's really starting to become like
just pretty much one of the best players in the
entire Pacific Division. And now he's with us. So that's
that's gonna be great for Adasford. One notable player, Sheldon Dries,

(37:26):
signed with Detroit. There was a team last week on
her drafts. The team the Roadrunners you know, want to
play if they need to win. Bakersfield wasn't on it.
Bakersfield big, big challenge, always the challenge. There's always that
one team that presents to you the challenge.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
They have gone out. They've signed Connor Carrick from Coachella Valley,
so big signing there on the line Seth Griffeth. Their
leading score remains unsigned, Philip Broberg going Holloway. Those guys
are off for sheeted by Saint Louis. They are gone,
Lane Peterson back, Rafael la Black, Jake Drake, Kujula, Ben Gleason,

(38:02):
Greg mccagg's unsigned, Cam Deneen is back there. Olivia rod
Reig gonna be their backup. Jack Campbell traded into Detroit.
Colvin Picker the backup at Edmonton. Colin Dhlia, who we
saw with Rockford, is gonna be the other goalie. And
they made a trade with the Senators and got a

(38:23):
guy who's gonna be in the lineup every night. I
how to say his name. So we're gonna move on.
But yeah, Bakersfield looks pretty solid.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
Solid once again. That team that's looks pretty solid on paper,
and we'll see how those games go. Calgary, all right,
what's the big one. Justin kirkle the one least from
us to.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
The Martin firk They got him.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
They won't have Dustin Wolf anymore.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
Potentially Dustin Wolf to belated to be the backup. They've
got Devin Cooley, we've seen him in Milwaukee, who was
with San Jose a little bit last year. I think yes,
so that'll be their their main goalie. Oscar Dance is gone,
their leading scorer, and I'm clapp because back their second

(39:12):
leading score, Ben Jones signed with Minnesota. Their third leading score,
Matt Cornatto will be in the NHL with with the Flames.
It looks like they just have four of their top
eleven leading scores back. They do add just Kirkland Martin
firk who we saw in Ontario. So Calgary looks like,
you know, they lose some guys to sign a couple
of guys. But yeah, it looks like they're good too.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
Yeah, I remember agent they were. They had that great
season two years ago. They start off really good this
year and they kind of fell apart a little bit.
Of course, you know what happened the first round, the
playoffs happened. But yeah, they're kind of a weird team
to read last year. So it'll be interesting to see
how they start this year.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
At least Coachella Valley. As I said, I thought it
was their top nine leading scores gone. That's what I
was told. But it's five to the last six five
the top six leading scorer has gone. Cole Lynde signs
with Dallas. Cameron Hughes signs with Dallas, Andrew Potteralski signs
with San Jose. Shane Wright looks like he's full time
with Seattle. Marion Stuten each that couldn't find him anywhere

(40:13):
in hockey. Connor Carrick with with Edmonton, Max Lesois and
Nick Breuiard. They've added to their blue lines. We saw
Briard with the San Diego the last couple of years.
Lasois we've seen him around. Looks like Alex Steshka is
going to be the goalie. The young kid eighteen six
and two last year with Chris Drinkers signing to be

(40:33):
the backup In Florida, so Cella Valley looks looks pretty young,
but uh, pretty solid.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Still always solid as ever.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Colorado their top three scores gone. Brad Hunt signs in Hershey,
Riley Tufty signs with Boston. Callahan Burke signs with Vegas.
Jacket Conn back their defenseman who is their fourth leading scorer,
Cedric Pare signed with Toronto, so for their top five
leading scores gone, but they had TJ. Tynan.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
That was huge.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
They had him from crazy last few yars in Ontario
and they were struggling to score, so that was a
big signing for them. They add Matthew Phillips. So, I
mean Calgary a couple of years ago, was with Washington
Hershey last year. He's a pointing game guy. Jean Luke
Foudi is uh back, so in between the pipes a

(41:25):
little bit of a question mark. Trent Minor, who's been
back and forth between the age on the EHL last
couple of years, looks like slated to start for him.
So that's uh. So we got for Colorado, but top
three leading scores and for of the five leading scores gone,
but they had Tynan and Matthew Phillips. How are we
doing here? How about this? Yeah, you was flying Henderson,

(41:48):
really good Henderson Silver Knights. So we told you. They
added Callahanberg from Colorado. But listen to this. Sheldonrmple to
the KHL their second leading score, Brandon Bosson the third
leading score. He'll be with Vegas. Adam Kracknell remains unsigned
Byron Phrase KHL. Morelli's backahe Quinny back, you Knowice Ron
Giorg will be in the NHL. Tyler Benson gone, Dyson

(42:10):
Mayo is back. Gregory Denisenko their leading score where they
got from Florida, played him in the Stanley Cup final.
Heat is back for their top six. D are back.
They've added a Curus Schmid who was with Utica in
New Jersey the last couple of years. And they've also
signed Zachary aston Reese who's played over three hundred NHL

(42:34):
games and had fourteen goals with Grand Rapids last year.
So that's what Henderson has. A lot gone, a lot
of the vets gone, so we're seeing them. You know,
it's you know, one year, two year contract for the
for the veterans. We're seeing a lot of veterans moving on.
We've come to Ontario. They've added Glenn Godden from San Diego,

(42:55):
Stockton Calgary, Jack Student each we saw him with Avatard.
Caleb Jones is a big, big deed that we've added.
But four their five thought leading scores gone. TJ Tyna
with Colorado just talked about him. Samuel Fagimo is back.
Couldn't find Charles U donn anywhere. I kill Thomas will
be in the NHL. We think Frank Clark will be

(43:16):
in the NHL. Kill Thomas will be close to make
the team. But yeah, Tyler Madden, Mark Cromiac back and
Eric Portillo the rookie out of Michigan three contract twenty
four to ten and three got a three year contract
last weekend. So just a little bit so Ontario looking
now we get to San Diego, we're talking about, Yeah,

(43:38):
missing the playoffs two years in a row. Andrew Gazino
comes to our organization. Glenn god in Ontario, Chase de
Leo unsigned, Trevor Carrick unsigned, Olin Zeliger the high draft
pick o' B in the NHL. They've got pap Al
Righanda back, Keida nes Darenko back h They signed Carson
Meyer twenty two goals with Cleveland last year. It looks

(43:59):
like the same Goaliesuschanic and klie Klang this year with
San Diego. So they continue to build through their system. Yeah,
that's how it goes sometimes. San Jose no Nathan Todd
their leading score. They do have the Neil Gustin back.
Whole Castles is unsigned, the third leading score even Cardwell,
Jack Thompson, Shakmuka Maduelan back, Kyle Roland signs, got Sabrin

(44:21):
back in between the pipes. It looks like, uh, Georgie
Romanov because they've got they've got some goaltending depth in
the NHL. Uh. They traded Magnus Crona to Nashville in
exchange for Yaroslav Scaroff, a big trade last week. So

(44:42):
San Jose didn't really well they obvious. I didn't even
write it down the leading score.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
Another another another player that's just stuck around in the
Pacific Division because he played with San Diego for years
back and then he had those couple of good years
in Trees, a couple of good years with Pachella Valley,
and I was with San Jose. So that was a
good pick up for them too.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Yeah, so now we get to us. How about that
we trade the sixteen goals of jan Yunique to Attawa
for the nineteen goals of Igor Sokoloff's our third leading scorer.
Voice with that, our leading scorer Josh Stone NHL Akuratu
second leading score one game in the NHL last year

(45:27):
forty four points in five games, but for Aku was
forty two points of the final forty five games. As
you heard, Kelman back, Key Big Back, uh Paganski back
in a two year deal, Gunther NHL, Zuber back, McCartney back,
Douglas back, Baron back, Camper in the KHL, Drew Kach McGregor,

(45:49):
ka Shaanik see NHL Karate goes to Iowa Delavatory, back
on you bootch you back lighton more back. I hit
on this this week on broad Winners TV Weekly. It'll
come out Tuesday, depending on when you're listening to this.
Sixty one AHL wins in the organization right now from

(46:11):
last year. But Nanson Thornton two wins, Dylan Well's ten wins,
Jackson Stouber eighteen wins and a goal last year, and
Matthew Vallta thirty one wins. So with those four goalies
that are under contract right now in the organization, sixty
one AHL wins. I'll have more on it on broad

(46:31):
Winners TV this week, or you can check it out
now and Rednuners TV comes out Tuesday, depending on when
you're listening to this.

Speaker 3 (46:38):
Nice little promo for the Roadrunners TV.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
But yeah, yeah, agent, here we go a lot of research.

Speaker 3 (46:44):
Yeah, a really good job. And I think it's it's
just obvious when you literally listed like just the players
that the other teams were able to retain. Then you
look to our team and you just see to how
many of the guys we brought back. Guess we made
our good offseason moves. We you know, good luck to
Yanya Nikue, but so is a really good goal scorer
as well, and you know, god Andrew Agazina, which was

(47:05):
probably the biggest move for us because he's he can
potentially be a top scorer of this team of the league.
I mean, yeah, it's big too, Robbie Russo it's just
just all hits. I think the big thing was just
we were just able to bring most of the core
back and it just shows that these guys want to

(47:26):
be here to play. So yeah, not only just from
the acquisitions we got, but just bringing the dude the
guys back is you know, is why we're arguing right
now that we had the best off season.

Speaker 2 (47:36):
Yeah, we think teams we're saying we went through reue.
Did you just went we missed any details here? All right?
So yeah, we've done this the the last couple of years. Uh,
last year and the year before, saying three teams missed
the playoffs. I'm not willing to put anybody into the

(47:56):
playoffs or take anybody out of the playoffs. How does
that sound?

Speaker 3 (47:59):
That sounds good?

Speaker 2 (48:00):
It's that good. Yeah, So Henderson, San Diego, San Jose
not willing to move them up at the expense of
moving anybody down.

Speaker 3 (48:07):
Okay, so keeping it the same with Tucson in first place. Yea,
in the first place.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
Abbas heard, I think Abbitsford might be pushing for a
second Yeah, I do. I got that. And then Calgary, Colorado,
Ontario Valley. It'll be a mix, it'll be a mess.

Speaker 3 (48:28):
Yeah, it's always it always is in in the Pacific Division.
I do like what San Jose has done, you know again,
getting Polarowski and uh training for a scar off. You know,
who knows where he'll start in San Jose or sorry,
start with the Sharks or the Barracuda, but.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
You better start with the Shark, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:47):
Because you know for the reason why he was That's
that's the thing, Like they probably won't even get any
use out of him for the Barracuda at least, but
uh yeah, again, when it comes to the HL off season,
guys move a lot. It's new opportunities. Teams will look
a lot different, but you know, of course we look different,
but we also look very much the same that we

(49:07):
had from last year. So like the looks. Yeah, so
it's it's gonna be fun coming up.

Speaker 2 (49:12):
We're gonna draft our favorite or our best. Does it
matter what we're gonna draft? Ruglunders all time? Brother, Yes,
whether they be our favorites or our best right now? Uh,
do you want to draft lazy Sunday activity.

Speaker 3 (49:28):
Yeah, let's do it. I'm excited for this. We love
our lazy, lazy Sundays so much, so so big.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
On that we've gone from doing podcasts on the lazy
Sunday to usually on Saturday nights.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
We start yeaut so much, at least during the football season,
when I wanted to watch just football day Sunday and
then watch football ends, It's like, oh, maybe we could
push it to Sunday. We'll see, but uh, yeah, we
love our lazy Sundays so much that we're willing to
do podcasts Saturday night so everyone can wake up and listen.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
Let's tell everybody what we're doing on our lazy Sundays.
Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
You want to go first, I'll.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Go first, all right. I'm gonna say sleep in. That
was one of my fun day That was one of mine. Yeah,
Sunday might be the only day it really.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
Honestly that that is definitely a big one for me, Scotty,
just to watch football. I mean, you know, if you
want to go specific like seasons, obviously it's fall go
with football.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
Okay, I'm gonna I'm I'm not taking necessarily my order.
I'm taking him so you don't take Okay, that's that's
kind of what I'm doing here.

Speaker 3 (50:31):
Because you know me so much, you know what I do.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
I'm gonna leave my second choice on the board. It's
actually my first choice because I know what you're gonna take. Next,
I'm gonna take a nap.

Speaker 3 (50:41):
I actually did not have nap.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
You didn't have nap.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
You are because I think I sleep in so much
that I don't need a nap. You know I don't
need the nap.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
Okay, you don't have a nap, all right?

Speaker 3 (50:52):
Yeah, don't have nap for me. And you know that
I do this a lot.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
Make a big brunch, you know, I'll slap my stake
on on the hand and have that with eggs and biscuits,
and just because like you know, we're up so late
that when I wake up, I am hungry because we
you know, we eat a really early dinner.

Speaker 3 (51:10):
I mean we eat dinner like what four. Yeah, so
you know on a home game day. So I wake
up and I am hungry. It's eleven, get football starting,
and I'm like, I'm making myself a big breakfast. So yeah,
or I guess it's brunch at that time.

Speaker 2 (51:25):
All right, Yeah, I like it. I'm gonna say flung
the same lines. Cheat meal, cheat meal, whether it's pizza,
whether it's Alcharo, whether it's every appetizer the yard house has,
whether it's five guys, it's a cheat meal with dessert
on a Sunday, usually between one and two, and that

(51:47):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (51:48):
Next one for me, I liked. This is something I'm
still learning. But I guess if you have time to
do it, baking baking, I want to bake a fake
some brownies for the night and have them for the weeks.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
This is not us being broccoli and cheddary Again, is
it not really any similarities in our lazy sundays?

Speaker 3 (52:05):
Two different lifestyles, I guess.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
I'm gonna say second nap, No way, second second. I
will doze off mid morning ish usually, and then I
will doze off again mid afternoon. And since I don't
have enough slots to take third nap, I'll take third
nap between seven and eight sometimes.

Speaker 3 (52:26):
Oh goodness, okay, well answer me this. So when we're
up doing podcasts and you know, by the time I'm
done editing it, I'm probably going to bed at like
two three in the morning, yep. And of course you're
I guess you have your long drive, so you probably
go to bed around the same time. What time you
wake up on a Sunday when we're up that late,
Oh gosh, maybe.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
I'll force myself to stay bed, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:48):
Yourself to stay in bed till.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:52):
Yeah, no, that's fair.

Speaker 2 (52:53):
That is fair.

Speaker 3 (52:54):
Yeah, it varies for me. Sometimes it isn't nine o'clock
and I'm just like, oh, like why, But it's just
you're still used to body cloth. But and of course
when there's football, I said an alarm because I want
to I don't want to miss football. It's ten am November. Yeah,
so you know, Kent's probably sliding the nap here and there.
But sometimes like by the time I'm done watching football

(53:14):
and it's already like four pm. It's like, if I
take a nap, my whole sleep schedule is gonna get screwed,
Like it's more screwed up than it already is from
you know, the Friday Saturday games. So I just stay
up and then I'll go to bed early, so then
I can just kind of feel more replenished. But yeah,
the third nap for you, second that for you, all right?

Speaker 2 (53:34):
For me?

Speaker 3 (53:34):
Cleaning, cleaning the place I did not clean? What do
you mean you don't clean?

Speaker 2 (53:38):
I don't clean. I have a housekeeper.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
You have a housekeeper?

Speaker 2 (53:41):
Yeah, mary Ella, what I didn't Did.

Speaker 3 (53:43):
I know that?

Speaker 2 (53:44):
Did you tell me that?

Speaker 3 (53:45):
That's crazy? I did not know you had a house
that's the most honestly, now I think about this most
agent thing ever. For you to have a housekeeper was
supposed to be a secret. No, it's not supposed to be.
I just didn't know.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Yeah, it's funny. And I've never met her, really, No,
she has her own door coach. She lets herself in,
handles it and text me when she's doping. Man over
the money. I can't imagine very best. She is my
angel and so I can't.

Speaker 3 (54:10):
Imagine just coming home being like, oh, something clean my
place for me.

Speaker 2 (54:13):
Yeah, yeah, I don't clean. Unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (54:19):
Well that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (54:20):
Uh here's one that you won't to have on your list,
but favorite clothes on a lazy Sunday, Oh, shorts, the
favorite T shirt, something comfortable, got my favorite T shirts,
got my favorite pair of shorts. I'm gonna see anybody.

Speaker 3 (54:43):
And you wear it all day? Yeah, until you I
don't know if you're a shower in the morning or
shower at night guy. But then like after the workout,
after right after the workout, but yeah, you wear the clothes.
For me, I wear the same clothes all day, the pajamas,
like wake up what I'm wearing, wear it all the
way until like, yeah that's six pm, seven pm, take
my shower, change into a different pair of pajamas, and

(55:04):
I'm good.

Speaker 2 (55:04):
Yeah. Yeah, favorite clothes, something comfortable. I like it business casual,
not game day attire.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
Oh no more.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
Ties. Don't have to impress anybody, No ties, please, It's
Tucson shorts, my favorite T shirt.

Speaker 3 (55:19):
And when I was in San Jose, it was always
sweat a hoodie and sweats because we didn't have a
well we had a heater, but it didn't really work,
so our place got super cold. And that's what I
would just have to be wearing all day. Yeah, so
that's living in San Jose. Is that a draft?

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Is that it? Or lazy Sunday? Yeah, you took all five.
I took five perfect. I like it. You didn't steal
anything from me, So.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
Yeah, when you when you, I mean, I don't know
when you went with the second app that's crazy. But
I think the thing is like you probably take quick
naps if you feel like you're a quick got my
ce and that for me is like a two hour,
two hour naps. So I think that's what it was
the difference there. Yeah for that.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
But let's uh draft all time roadmender side for this one.
This is a good one.

Speaker 3 (56:04):
This is a good one. I like this. I go first,
I go first. I have to go with the household
name Mattias Mitchelli just from the season he had. I
don't think he was technically voted in All Rookie this year,
which I thought was insane. I thought I've been doing
research on that, but well he had fifty seven points
and forty seven games. Yeah, twenty twenty one. Yeah, now
doing great in NHL. So yeah, just gotta go with

(56:27):
that one. Yeah, I'm gonna take Josh Jones. Yeah, last year,
next week's guest. Next, I'm not bringing Josh on the
podcast and say, hey, Josh didn't take you first. Johanny
didn't take you first. Who okay, okay, okay, whatever you
got me there next for me. Donstrom twenty seventeen eighteen,
also named to an All Rookie to team, just like

(56:50):
Josh Jone was last year. Fifty three points in fifty games,
and he's with the Washington Capitals right now, so yeah,
which I didn't know until I did some more research
on him. I was like, wait, where is Strom right now?
Do you know he's on the Capitals And he actually
scored the most goals ever in his career this past season.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
So yeah, all right, I mean, no rules, just right,
no rules. Take Maxie Zuber, Yeah, I play, I play
favorites round here.

Speaker 3 (57:14):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
MAXI NHL debut came over and uh worked his way up.
You mentioned is plus nine taking Maxie plus fourteen plus
fourteen on your Bucci last week plus nine Yeah, but yeah,
plus fourteen was the best out of a rookie defenseman
in Rover in his history.

Speaker 3 (57:30):
So thank you, number three, number three. Next for me,
I'm gonna take a guy who was in San Jose. Well,
I was there, Nick Murkley. Nick Murkley, Yeah, first round,
he was over a point per game player with US.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Yeah, you've taken our first round picks in twenty fifteen,
and Nick Murkley, I'm going to take Ben McCartney, fifty
fastest player draft in the seventh round to make his
NHL debut. Scored a hat trick that season. Is first
full pro season against Texas. As we talked about in
twenty twenty one, youngest alternate captain and team history entering

(58:08):
his third year is one of those that was a
heck of a twenty one twenty two NHL rookie season.
After a nice uh nice prelude the year before, I'm
taking Ben McCartney and number three. Nice.

Speaker 3 (58:21):
Now we said there's no rules, no rules, and for
some reason on the AHL website they don't list him
as a rookie and I still don't know why. Aku Ratu,
I mean, yeah, first season of HL got him down.
It's considered a rookie. Yeah, he's a rookie. And again,
as we said, yeah, first ten games only two points.
Since the rest of the season, would you say forty
five and forty two or I think you had the

(58:43):
exact number. Yeah, I do almost a point per game player,
like the last forty five games had forty two and
forty five. I think is what you said.

Speaker 2 (58:51):
No, I can't find that. You always talk about how
prepared I am, and then my piece of paper here, freak.
I don't know, man. Yeah, he was nearly a point
of game. Yeah, regardless, he was phenomenal. I don't know
where that piece of paper went. It's a small desk.
I don't know. All right, I'm gonna take JJ Moser.
We talked about Mattias Michelli. JJ Moser was here even less.

(59:16):
He was called up in mid December, drafted in twenty
twenty one, that summer second rounder, right around where Josh
Done was came here. Gone, haven't seen him since now
he remember the Tampa Bay Lightning in that big right, Yeah,
big trade Draft day trade.

Speaker 3 (59:32):
Next one for me is kind of a wild card.
But just when I was doing my research, I was
just curious or I just thought this was a good one.
Hunter Miska yeah or misca from twenty seventeen eighteen had
twenty two wins in his rookie season with Tucson, two
point sixty goals against average in a nine o one
say percentage split the time with Aiden Hill. Yeah in

(59:53):
the net, but still pretty good for a rookie in HL.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
Before this year he had the all time single season
record for wins. Yeah you had, yeah record. So this year,
all right, you took a goalie. I'll take a goalie.
Ayton Hill twenty sixteen twenty seventeen led the Roadrunners with
forty games played.

Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
Yeah, rookie right out there now with the Vegas Stanley
Cup champion. There we go. Heckuba draft? That was good?
What's good?

Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
I liked it, kind of going back in history a
little bit for Yeah. No, that was good for Roadrunner rookies.
So found a way to make it happen as usual.
Got a special gut always walking walking by our studio
windows here after I get we don't have to we
don't have that, we don't have to sign anymore. That
says on the air. People just think we're in here

(01:00:44):
just playing spaceship. I don't help I get I get
distracted and I wave. I have to wave at every very.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Friendly You're a very very friendly person. I think that's
what we got, Johnny. I think that's uh, that might
be it. I think we covered everything on the outline
Josh Jone next week as we get into UH second
week of September and then those guys go to NHL camp,
Maybill dig back down into some HL contracts headed to

(01:01:10):
UH fan best our pre season about a week away
from official announcing our preseason games. If you're with us
couple of weeks ago, you got those UH promo schedule close,
still close, still close, So keep your eye outs on that.
I've got all you need to know on Goalies this
week on broad Runners TV. We never take a day off.

(01:01:31):
We never never take any breaks now here in Tucson, Nope.
And we just keep bringing you great content. Do you
have anything else?

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
I'm good? Yeah, good, all right, fantastic. I want to
end the podcast to be like, oh, I want to
talk about this. What I don't I don't do that?

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
Do I do that? No, we've never had that happen. Okay,
We've always always gone to our max on the podcast.
What do you say? Lights? To so yeah, let's yes,
Tucson here comes here, have a great least.

Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
