Bobby and Eddie share their Top 10 country artists right now.  They decide to do it as a true 10-to-1 countdown, which leads to a few quick switches, disagreements, and some “how is he that low?” reactions as they compare lists and explain their rankings. Then Bobby weighs in on the latest Country Music Headlines about Florida Georgia Line possibly getting back together and what that would actually mean in 2026, plus their reaction to Maren Morris’ criticism of country music and the conversation it’s sparked. And they address the big question floating around: are The Raging Idiots done, or is something else going on?

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Welcome to episode five seventy. This is more of a
in the headlines in the news Bobby cast country music,
and so Eddie and I have not shared our results
with each other, but just like college football, we're going
to do a rankings. Yeah, okay, today's January sixteenth. So
as of January sixteenth, twenty twenty six, top ten artists

(00:27):
in country music.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Current artists and country music.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
And I was for sure to say you don't list
Johnny Cash.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no all times.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
And also I'm not going to argue with you because
there are no rules.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Man, it was tough to put to rank them. You
can go first, Okay, you want to start at ten, yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Go ten to one. So at number ten on your rankings,
I think.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Ten was probably the hardest because I was going to
leave some people off. So ten. You're not gonna like this,
but I'm going with Chris Stapleton.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Do you think we need to go to the ops?
I'm thinking about how we if we should go the
opposite way. Yeah, because I think the last five I agree.
So I'm gonna act like I didn't hear Tennischristableton. I'm
gonna be surprised. You know what, scratch that, scratch that,
and we're probably gonna share a lot of the same artists.
I'm just gonna be ranked deaf. Yes, okay, you can
go number one.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Number one. This is I had to think hard about
this because I think because of his weight loss, he
moved everything to number one is jelly Roll. He's been
in the news a lot, he's still making music, he's
still playing shows. He's on the top. He is in
the top of the world right now, and he's lost
a lot of weight, which puts him on magazine.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Covers, the Men's I think Men's Health, Men's Health. They
followed him for a year. That's that's a really cool thing.
They keep rolling out social media on it is really cool. Okay,
you have jelly Roll at one.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Jelly Roll number two, Morgan wah which I think without
jelly Roll doing all that stuff, I think Morganwaan would
have been number one for sure. Okay, top he's top,
number three, number three, Lady Wilson. Every time I go
to the grocery store, you know who's I see? Oh,
you see Laney Wilson everywhere.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
I thought maybe it was hearing it over the top.
You that's more of the Fray and the Wallflowers. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
But you see Landy's face on what kind of products.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
All kinds of products did wine Hamburger buns of anything?
Like Laney, there's a cutout board Landy Wilson's standing in
there trying to sell me something.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
At number four, Megan Maroney killing it, killing it. I
think the kids love her, the girls love her. I
think she's doing really big things right now. Five man
Luke Combs. Luke Combs from the other class, you know,
from like the little older class of country artists, still

(02:42):
keeping up because I mean he what sells out stadiums.
Still okay. Six as much as I hate to admit it,
Zach Bryan. Zach Bryan's at number six. People know him,
people love his music. He's in the news all the time,
getting married, fighting all of it. Seven Ella Langley. I

(03:05):
don't know why Ella Langley. You think eight number eight
because of Ella Langley, Riley Green because of Ella. I
think once they did their duo together, they both kind
of just got to the same level.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Okay, Yeah, it definitely did help both of them.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
That's why I feel okay. And then number nine Cody Johnson,
good one doing big things. Collabing.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yeah, I like those terms. Clabbing with people, collabs.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
This is tough. You're never gonna guess.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Chris Stapleton, and I feel like I wanted to put
him higher, but I just don't see him a lot.
I don't really other than money Nett football when he's
watching TV and he's singing Bill Collins. Yeah, so Chris
Stapleton's ten. He's still up there though.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Top ten, there's I guess we have only one. Okay,
I'll go on my list. I know that's gonna be clips,
so I'm gonna start over at the beginning. Okay. These
are my top ten artists right now, is of January
twenty twenty six, just like we're ranking college football.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Come on Baby.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
At number one Morgan Wallen, and it's one song after
another that's number one. But it's also one football stadium
after sometimes two football stadiums in the same city, two
nights in a row. They open up merch stands days
before just to sell merch because people want Morgan Wallen
is the biggest thing in country music right now. So

(04:36):
number one, Number two Megan Maroni. She has a new
album coming out. I think she is the best young
artist songwriter out there now. A lot of our music
doesn't resonate with me because I'm not a woman. Yeah,
but I can still appreciate it, and I find her
to be an excellent writer and her social media a plus.

(05:00):
I put Megan Maroney at number two right now, number
three Ella Langley Wow, and as close between Morony and Ella,
because they're right there. They're both killing it, and she's
got big song, same thing. You just look at a
single video of her social media. Its's one hundred thousand, Yeah,
likes it, kills that song. Choosing Texas is a monster.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
It's number five on the Hot one hundred and that
stuffs all happened.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
That's all genre. Number four a Zach Bryan because he
sells like crazy. He sold out the Michigan Football Stadium.
I think it's the biggest concert ever, like outside hard ticket,
specific seat concert ever. Number five, jelly Roll number one

(05:51):
after number one. Also with that all Over Television had
documentary about him, Lost a bunch of weight. Obviously, that's
my top five right now, and number six have lou
Coombs and Luke's been a bit purposefully absent, which I
think is a very smart thing to do for artists

(06:12):
sometimes because you can be over exposed. And now he
is launching back with a new record that comes out.
He's got a new song that just came out. He's
only at six because I think he's purposefully stepped away
for a bit. Otherwise he's up there selling out football
stadiums as well. Number seven. Lanny Wilson Entertainer of the Year,
after Entertainer of the Year, number one after number one,

(06:32):
I put her at seven. Stapleton's at eight. Stapleton has
Laney opening for him coming up. I didn't realize stadiums, yep,
didn't realize that. And I think that's just Lanny respecting
Chris Leanny could definitely go out and sell her own
massive show. She obviously does, but I think she respects
and loves Chris so much that it's, yeah, I'll come
do that with you. So I've got Stapleton at eight,

(06:55):
I've got Riley Green at nine. He is slowly becoming
one of the big head liners in country music. And
at ten, I have Kenny Chesney.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Oh, Chesney's still doing it.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Possibly the oldest person on this list. So it's hard
to stay extremely relevant for decades and Chesney's doing that
not only with songs, but also look at his Sphere residency.
He's going back for part two. So Chesney at ten.
That number ten was a hard one there.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
It was tough.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
McGraw's up there, he's doing the residency now in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
I'd Kane Brown Caine is up somewhere around.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah. Yeah, but if we're ranking them, that's that's where
we put him.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
I mean, it's it's interesting. We did have the same
people up there for the most part, except Kenny.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
We only had one that wasn't the same.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, good job, buddy, that's fun.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
I had to put Morgan though he was easily one
from now. I'm not saying you're wrong, no, I know.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
And I struggled with that a little bit because, I
I mean, as soon as you think about it, the
automatic thought is like, oh, Morgan won is the biggest
thing in country music. But I was like, Jilla rolls everywhere.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
You don't want to be cliche.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Maybe that was a little bit of it. I want
to be a little different.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
You don't want to put Ohio State or Alabama Ohio's day. Okay, Well,
that's a fun little exercise that'll probably get us a
bunch of hate online. So sure, yeah, we have that
all right. So different stuff happening in country music, Mike,
give me one of the headlines.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Country music headlines. There are rumors at Florida Georgia Line
are getting back together. They posted a selfie from the
CMA's BK said that him and Tyler went on a walk,
went on a hike. Do you think they'll get back together?

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Is that real? They went on a hike?

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:38):
I think.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
BK did that meme of John Hamm and the meme
was like, he's in the club. Have you did? Do
you watch Friends and Neighbors?

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yes? Yeah, what's the meme?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Club? And he's kind of I think he's on drugs
feeling it said.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
All he turns, oh yeah, yeah, yah, I remember, yes, yes, yes,
I'm pretty sure that was the post.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
It was okay. Uh. The question is will they reunite eventually?
I don't think they should now. I think they officially
broke up in like twenty two or something like that.
They haven't been broken up long enough. When they broke up,
they were a bit of a punchline because they were
corny for two reasons. One, when you get so successful,
you just get corny because again there's an oversaturation. And

(09:20):
then two they were also corny.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
They were the godfathers of broke country.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yes, but they were successful so long they did a
full switch up, meaning when they started one of them
had long hair and more vest and by the time
they ended, the other one had the long hair.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Like, yeah, dude, that's so true. They switched day. I didn't.
I didn't realize that.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
They just got bored, right, so they just switch morphed
into each other. Yes, So I think if they wait
another three to five years, people will actually like the
nostalgia of it. I don't think there's nostalgia of it
right now. I think there's BK probably want money. Yeah,
Tyler Hubbard is putting out songs, but he he's not
selling shows like FGL did because unless you say Tyler

(10:04):
Hubbard from Florida, Georgia line, you don't really know who
that is. If you're a casual or a little more
than a casual, you have to actually be a fan
to know who that is. And I only know that
from people being like, who's Tyler Hubbard when I'm talking
about songs? So will they yes? Would they even now
for a show or two. Sure, if it's a money grab,
but if it's long term, I wouldn't do it for

(10:24):
another three or four years.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah, that was gonna be a follow up question. Do
you think they would get together for an album?

Speaker 1 (10:29):
No, because that's a relaunch. Yes, even an album's a relaunch.
I wouldn't even do a song. I would do a
couple of shows, a private event or a television show
if it was a like if they're reuniting for an
awards show to do something. If you do it now,
it's not gonna be a big deal when they do
it then, Like Rascal Flats waited the right amount of time,

(10:49):
like six years or something, and then people are like, wow,
I haven't had anything from them forever. And so they
got together. It sold out like crazy.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
You know what it would have been cool is if
they would have videoed the hike and just like them
talking and them finding it out and like, yeah, dude,
but you pissed me off when you did this.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Well, apparently they never got in a fight. It wasn't
political all. That's absolute bull crap, right, And they're just
trying to reframe it, and I get it. I try
to reframe it too for money and to go, oh,
it's not really working, Like if our BK, I'd be like, no, man,
we find them for cupcakes.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
But isn't that what Tyler's doing right now?

Speaker 5 (11:20):
Like he's saying it wasn't political and all that kind
of stuff, which is surprising.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Yeah, because why do they need it out there? They
fought at all, right, like eliminate that narrative because you
don't hate each other now there obviously they took that
selfie together at the award show. There, they're doing walks.
There's no need for that to exist. Trust falls exactly.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
If they came back this year, would.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
You interview them?

Speaker 5 (11:44):
No?

Speaker 1 (11:45):
But I don't like them. I mean I think that's
the difference. I don't mind, don't I don't don't like them. No, No,
I don't like them.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Oh you don't like I don't mind Tyler so much.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
But but whenever I was talking to BK when he called,
he was like, you need to have interview me. He's like,
Tyler's the one that started all that crap with you
and us, and he's like throwing Tyler under the bus
at me. But I'm just I'm not not had good experience.
I don't mind Tyler. His wife's really nice.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Which is the one that did a painting for you.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I think it was kay, yeah, no beef. He was like,
that's why I painted that for you.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
What was the painting?

Speaker 1 (12:17):
No beef?

Speaker 2 (12:18):
It just said no beef on it.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Yeah, something like that. I never saw it again. I
don't know where it is, somewhere in Vegas. Yeah, but
he said Tyler was the reason that any of that
feud happened. He's like, Tyler's always the one that wanted
to come at you. And BK was like, yeah, it
was political. He was like, I had a Trump banner
and Tyler hated it. He told me he was on
the phone telling me all this stuff. So I don't
even care if the're reframing it. What do I care?
Like reframe it. I think it's good for that group

(12:40):
to reframe it now. So when they do get back together,
people don't go, why are you back together? I thought
it was political and like, no, we've said that. It's not.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
No, it's like that's the plan.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
It's a smart plan.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
They had some good music, yeah baby, yeah, baby.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
They got so big it got corny, and then they
got corny.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Dude hammering and nail so good stacking them bail.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Yeah, they could write song. Tyler can write songs, yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Like catchy, good feeling songs.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
All right, there you go, there's number one.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
Let's take a quick pause for a message from our sponsor,
and we're back on the Bobby Cast.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Next up, Netflix rebooted Star Search. Jelly roll is one
of the judges on there. Will people watch this show?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Have you guys seen.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
That I've seen, yeah, teasers or whatever. I think it
looks awesome.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yeah. Anthony Anderson is the host, jelly rolls one of
the judges, Chrissy Teagan's one of the judges, and somebody
else I think an actress of some sort. I don't
have the note, but and they're doing it live, and
I think that we'll bring attention because it's rare that
Netflix does anything live. They are wrestling live occasionally to
do a comedy special live that Mike Tyson fight Jack Paul,

(13:57):
Mikey Sarah, Michelle Geller's do I yes, I think people
will watch it because of the platform that it's on.
I think if they released it on to b it
have a little struggle, yes, or on crunchy roll that's
all me.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
But it's it's gonna be on Netflix. Big things coming
to Netflix soon, including this podcast.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, did you watch star Search as a kid? That
was kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
I mean that was they never highlighted the judges. It's
different now. The initial Star Search was Ed McMahon and
a bunch of judges. You didn't see their face, didn't matter.
It was Ed McMahon and mystery judges in the crowd
and they'd be like four and a half stars. Now
because American Idol and these judging shows, the judges are
such a part of it. They've a bit implemented that
style into what they did originally. But there are a

(14:47):
lot of really famous people that did star Search. I
mean Sawya Brown justin Timberlake, a lot of Dave Chappelle
he did star Search. Yeah, I was a teenager.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
So so it's all kinds of things, not just singing.
You do comedy to singing.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
They have specific categories. From what I remember the old
Star Search, I don't think it's like America's Got Talent
where you can come out. I watched this woman I'm
not sure what country it was, but she goes, okay,
if I can have the room, quiet, please, And she
takes a feather and she puts it on and balances
on a stick, and the judges and it's got to

(15:24):
be a different country because I didn't recognize the judges.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
They were like, yep, probably had to be a different country.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
And then from that, there's a stick with a feather
on it, and the stick's like three feet long. She
takes that stick with a feather on it and balances
on another stick. And then she takes that stick that's
balance on that with a feather on it, balances on
another stick and by the end it's this human everything
is balanced.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Wow, how long to take?

Speaker 1 (15:51):
It's like a six minute video. Watch the whole thing.
Got talent? What is it?

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Italy?

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Now I remember they were like pasta adio. I watched
the whole six minutes of the video. My mind was blown. Now,
I don't know how you put that into an act. Yeah,
but it was a really cool video. That being said,
I don't think star Search has those type of categories.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
They have music, dance, comedy, variety, magic and then kids magic.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Magic's cool.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Do I think people will watch? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah, I did too.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Do I think it'll be some mass cultural show. No,
because you don't have those anymore.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Good point.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Yeah, but I do think it'll be big. I got
called for that show, meaning they wanted I was one
of the people you're gonna magic to know, not to
be performed, to be one of the judges. They always
look for, like somebody in from the South or country music,
like a white guy. And I guess that Jelly Roll
end up getting that, which he should be, he's extremely famous.
But I did get a call when they were rebooting
it at the very very beginning, going, hey, they're talking

(16:51):
to people about being a judge on Star Stars or
a host.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
So that's cool.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
That was like two years ago.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
If you had said yes or gone through the who No,
I did the so I just didn't get it, okay,
But should you have to like audition.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
No that you just talked to producers, and then it's
kind of who's available, who's famous and available, who's famous
available and can do it? And they just weigh it
all and and then also it's like you want to
mix it up. You want to have somebody from music,
somebody acting, somebody white, somebody black, somebody you know, all.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
That tattoos on the face.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
No, tattoos on the face. Yeah, I think people will
watch again. I don't think that anything will be the
cultural phenomenon that shows were twelve fifteen years ago, so
to compare them to that is unfair. Yeah, but yeah,
I think it's cool, all right. Next up, the.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Chris Lei's were just revealed as of the croissants on
the Mass Singer after being freed and pardoned from prison.
Do you have an issue with them being on the show.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
No, I don't have an issue because I don't care
that stairs just generally, even if I'm talking about it.
Sometimes I have talked about it and amplify my care.
I don't care about them being on that show. I
did see they were on it once. They were eliminated
because they're performing, and it was like this canceled couple.
I just think it's weird that they never we were

(18:08):
never told they didn't do it, like they committed the crimes.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
And they served the time.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
Right.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
No, they were pardoned because their daughter worked for Trump.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Okay, okay, refresh memory. So they got they went to jail, yes,
served a little bit, and.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Then because their daughter was on him, Trump said they're famous,
so they.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Got and that's Savannah.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
But people are like, oh, that's awesome. They got parted.
But if it were you or you or you or you,
you wouldn't get partoned. They only got partoned because they
were famous.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Oh yeah, you'd be sitting in there.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
But do I care they're on the show. No, But
they did not do it right. I like those stories
where people they go in, you find out they didn't
do it, they come out, they get a redemption story
like I never did it.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Yeah, No, they did it.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
They were guilty.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
I thought the clip was weird to see, like everybody
clapping for them, and I just think they just got
out of prison.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
This feels weird to me.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
I think you're just conditioned to clap there, or they
edit clapping.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
In or don't they have that plod sign where you
have to that thing goes off, you have to.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
They're just so excited to see them, And I was like,
that's weird.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Yeah, I think there's a conditioning there. Whomever pulls it off.
Anybody just claps, But do I care? No? And Todd
Chrisley was nice to me. But they did it. They
stole money, they were found guilty. They only got clear
because They're famous, that's it. And so when people are
like all celebrating that, I'm like, you wouldn't get that,
you wouldn't get cleared. But no, I don't care. I

(19:32):
literally give me, I give, I give no crash. Yes.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Next up, Megan Roney has a new album coming out.
There's a song called Wish I Didn't? Is it about
Riley Green?

Speaker 1 (19:43):
This is another one of those things I don't really
care about, but I will say there are references in
this song. There's even a part of it where she
there's a lyric that's the same title as a Riley
Green song. So probably, but even if not smart to
make it feel like it is.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
To get people talking and thinking, because.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
I think there's another song on the album too that's
possibly about Riley Green. And the thing with them was
it's not just a rumor that they were together. There
are pictures of them at the airport together, right, And
I'm speaking in nothing that I know, just things that
I've seen that everybody else has seen. So if they
dated for a little bit, all good, But there are
pictures that exist of them. I'm just so surprised they'd
walk together at the airport in Nashville.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
That's crazy talk in Nashville, where everyone knows who you are.
I love songs that have stories, though, I mean I
love songs that you know just about nothing. But to
have a song where you like the one you talked
about with name and goo goo dolls like, I love
that to have a backstory.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
So when this one is not a good song though.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Right, But when people say like, oh, this song is
secretly about this, I like that.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Yeah, which is why even if it's not, it's smart
to make it seem like it could be, because it
gets people talking about it. Like us.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Riley Green has a song called make It Rain, and
then her lyric on the song is I can also
make it rain.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yes, oh yeah, I love it.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Probably.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Next up, who from the country music world would you
want to see on the next season of Dancing with
the Stars.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
That's a good question, and usually they take someone you
know that category. I was just telling you guys about
south or country.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, they need that person.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
They usually get someone even if it's not from country music.
They get someone that kind of represents that. And I
don't think they had one last year. I fully expect
them to try to get someone from country music this year.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
You know who I think would be great at that.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
I have someone in mind too, And also this show
is massive again. Yeah, so they don't need to convince
anyone to be on the show. If you get asked now,
you say yes immediately and you run to it because
the ratings are massive again and that thing has gone
up and down, up and down. Brandon, who do you think.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Neil McCoy.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
He loss in his own own literally the first person
that came to mind, just because at him dance answer, Okay,
that was kind of a joke, come back to me.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
And he still does the day for like a decade
and why that's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Eddie.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
I don't know if it's smart for his career because
he's so busy right now and he's kind of rising.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
But I think that's fine now because that show is
so big. Bailey Zimmerman, I think he'd be great on it.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
I think America would love him.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Yeah, the schedule might be tough, but even me and
I'm not that status, but I'm worried when I went
on the show, like do I want to go on
this because it seems like a bunch of losers? And
I called Charlemagne the God and I said, hey, what
do you think, and he goes, dude, don't think that
because Kim Kardashian did it. Michael Strahan did it.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Yeah, good point.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
What's the actress Mike from the HBO show Zindeya did it.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
They're a lot.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Charlie Dmilio did it. There are a lot of people
that went up to do it. We just only remember
or some of them that didn't.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
And the older ones too, like Emmitt Smith. You know.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
So I thought that was good advice, but but now
that show is so big, you do it. I think
Russell Dickerson would be good.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
That's a good one. He's got the personality, the moves,
and the athletic.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Yeah, so I'd go Russell Dickerson. Anybody else, Brandon.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Maybe not not kidding anymore, Brandon, you don't.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Have to pick anybody if you don't have anybody. I
was thinking somebody like Jordan Davis doesn't have a big personality.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
That's true. Maybe Thomas Rhett, but he's got so many kids,
you know.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Yeah, I can't get away from the kids. All right, Mike,
give me the other one, all right? Last one.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
Maren Morris has said that in country music, there's in
the country music atmosphere, no one is friendly to her,
which caused her to break away from the format.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Is she correct? I think that she publicly got into
a fight with Brittany al Dean. She's been outspoken about
her political beliefs. It doesn't matter what side you're out
spoke about their people going to push back against you.
I think there was probably a lot of negativity brought
on to her because she spoke out for what she
believed and it didn't match with a lot of what
the format believes. But you know that before you do that,

(24:10):
like you kind of understand what's happening. But I don't
think that it's fair to say that the country music
atmosphere wasn't very friendly to her because when she was
really going through it, I reached out because I think
she was promoting a kid's book and I said, hey,
you should come on the show, and they were like, nah, nah, nah,
we don't do it. And I'm like, well, I'm trying.
I'm being friendly to you. You're acting like no one's
being nice to I'm being friendly to you. I'm embracing you.

(24:31):
And they were like, now we're good. We don't want
to do it. So the fact that all of country
music wasn't friendly. I feel like that's incorrect and unfair
because I reached out multiple times it got nothing back
except no, and maybe that was what she wanted to present.
Then I'm anti everything, but I'm kind of anti some.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Plus I don't give a crap about what the industry does.
It's a good thing and a bad thing about what
we do. So I can understand why she would feel
that way, because I'm sure you open up your social
media years getting pounded. But I don't think it's fair
to say, just as an example, like I reached out
multiple times and receive nothing back. And also we were friendly.

(25:10):
So I took that a little personally, but not all
the way personally because I knew she was probably going
through it. But I feel like it's unfair to say
that no one was no one was friendly to her. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Those From what I learned in my marriage is those
blanket statements don't hold true a lot of times. I
don't always say always or everyone.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Stuff like that. That's a big one. But I can
understand why she would feel that way. Sure, because she
was saying political things I'm sure she believed and great
that's awesome, say what you believe, stand for what you
believe in. But they're in this environment, there's going to
just be so much toxicity thrown at you. It's going
to feel like it's everyone.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
So is she Is she off to a different genre?
Is she no longer Nashville country?

Speaker 1 (25:51):
No? I would say that's an interesting question. I would
say even she said she still makes country music. But
I think she found the system. I think she found
going to award shows. I heard her say that, like
going to a ward shows was tough. Nobody's not. But
it's just hard because I know there are people that
like her and are nice to her, but there's a
lot there that aren't. But if you are somebody who's polarizing,

(26:11):
and you're outwardly polarizing, you have to expect the polarization
as well. When I've had to learn that, like I
say a bunch of crap, and there are times to
say crap about people and have to go and like
be face to face with them, I don't expect them
to give me a big hug. If I've said things
that aren't positive or that don't shine a positive light
on them, I don't expect them to shine a positive

(26:31):
light back on me. So that's what I'd say, What
you think, what do you think of? What where do
you think Marin is right now? Just from being on
the outside.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I was driving a couple of days ago and her
song came on, you know, and I really was wondering,
I'm like, where is Maren?

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Like I still still here? I mean physically still here.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Now I wouldn't mean that, like I don't really know where.
Even when she did live here, I never knew where
she was. But I was just thinking of, you know, where,
what's she doing? Like where's what's she working on? Where?
Like is she going pop music? Is she doing pop music?
Is she writing with other people? Or she's still here
in Nashville writing with people. I don't know what she
was doing. So that's a legit, legit question of mine

(27:07):
two days ago, and it's she's.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
Like on the fringes, you know, she's she doesn't want
to work here, so she goes to LA to write
and record her records and stuff. But it's still pitched
in the country music space and more so the pop
music space as well. But I think her feeling about
Nashville and the country music has distanced her, but she's

(27:32):
still trying to do the same thing, which is probably
the the thing that's distancing you from her.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
I don't see her.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
What would you like say if say that was the case, right, Like,
say that was the case, I still want to do
country music. I still want to be part of this community. Like,
what would you say to an artist like that? If
what if like you want that and you've already made
it clear of where you stand with certain things or
who you fleet feudal, well.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Just keep making it then, I mean, like Marco, I
would just say, who cares exactly? She's like, but but
Margot Price has and she's been on our show before,
and you know, I follow on socials. But she's like,
screw the system. But if you screw the system, you're
not gonna get the benefits of the system, right, which
is them for the most part, mass appeal.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Sure, it's a harder road, right, little little bumpier road.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
No, I'd say it's extreme. It's it's not the same
road at all. I mean, because there are artists that
are looked at as critical darlings with massive, diehard fan
bases that aren't as big because they're not hitting that
populist level, yeah, because you kind of have to have
either a general message or not talk against what's not
the general message. But I think another one's Tyler Childers,

(28:44):
Like he's awesome.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Yeah, he's really good, but he.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
He's like, I don't I'm not dealing with the system,
and his views are probably different than that of a
bunch of country artists, and so those artists have a
they have to go down a whole different path.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yeah, So I felt a little bit with that with
Casey Musgrave is early on, no, it's still now, yeah,
But I mean she's created her own audience and her
own group of people that love her, which is like awesome.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
And she was what was traditional for a while and
was able to use that to get initial fans, like
she had hits and there was controversy, but she did
the traditional we'll go to radio, we'll have a radio,
we'll do this, and then she's like screw up. But
she already had that base kind of like Marin did.
We're like a Tyler Childers never had that. He was

(29:28):
just like, I'm doing my own thing the whole time.
I'm just going to stay independent ish and play shows,
build that way, make great music never going to be
traditional radio that type thing. But what I say, I
don't know. It depends what you want. Do you want
money and fame? If you do, if that's really what
you want, then I wouldn't push back so much against

(29:50):
what that's the standard. But if you want to have
your voice heard, man, sometimes it hurts to hear back
people that don't agree with you out that they're right.
But if you want to have your voice heard, keep
freaking saying what you're saying, keep making your music. You're
just not going to be met at that populous level
with money with tickets as you would otherwise. But it's

(30:14):
like what's important to you. That's why I would say,
I'm gonna have to deal with that sometimes, like what's important.
Sometimes whatever's happening in the industry is not important to me,
so I don't embrace it. And it does affect me
at times, especially in this town, but other times I
kind of don't care.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
I'll take the money, yeah, give me the money sometimes.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Sometimes sometimes just give me the money. Give me what
did they say? Give me my money? So okay, that's
what's up. The Bobby cast will be right back. M M.

(30:58):
This is the Bobby cast Mike's that it. That's it?
Anything going on with you?

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Uh No, I just wanted to tell you that if
we ever fight about anything or break up or don't talk,
I kind of like the idea of going for a
walk and a little hike or something if you ever
want to kind of talk about things.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
I think we're on a hiatus. We just haven't announced it.
We haven't done the Chase Rice or Chase Rice said
I'm done, I'm tired. I'm not gonna go on your road.

Speaker 7 (31:25):
God.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
I like announcing it though, because had he not announced it,
no one would have right. I'm not gonna say cared
because that sounds mean, but nobody would have cared enough
to be like, why aren't you on the road, because
there are artists that come off throad all the time
for six nine months at a time. Well, it was like,
if you announced it, it makes the news. That's I liked it.
I would have done that.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Robert O'Kean did the same too, Like a couple of
years ago, he said I'm done, I'm a done touring
and then like you get on TikTok and he's doing
all these shows.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
George Straight, Cowboy rides away, you keep riding away. Howboy
just got different horse. But if you announce it, it becomes
a store.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Sorry, it really does.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
So Chase Rice like, I'm out, Chase Rice will be back.
But if Chase Rice hadn't announced he was out, no
one would have known he was out. They thought he'sn't
writing a record, living at home, not on tour.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
Maybe sorry, That's how Chase Rice talks about himself, isn't
it whatever Chase.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Rice needs to do?

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Man, Oh does he do third person?

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (32:16):
No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
I wish I could do third person. That sounds and
it not sound like a joke.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Just try it, just try it.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
I don't know. Man, Hey, Bobby had a good time
doing this podcast today.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
That'd be so weird. Like, I don't know if I
could take you seriously.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
It's like the Seinfeld episode where the guy is talking
in third person at the gym, but they don't know.
He doesn't know like Elaine, maybe Jimmy. Yeah, it doesn't
know if Jimmy's talking about himself or his name is
even Jimmy.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Jimmy likes that Joe, that's all right, And.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Then she's like, is that Jimmy or is it about Jimmy.
I just watched that the other day. But we have
an announced on hiatus. We should we haven't played in
a while.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
No, we should.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Can you video the walk?

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Can't we say we took a walk when we come back.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Well we could parody their video us in the Eddie
and I took a walk, and we really decided we
have the same thoughts on Venezuela.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
It's like us walk in talking, laugh and then cut away,
come back and it's us wrestling on the ground.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
And then we also announced but we're gonna take a hiatus.
We do both. So we haven't had guests on this
podcast in the past couple of weeks, and the reason
is we're getting ready to launch our show on Netflix,
so we've been doing more so like I had my
wife on an episode last week, Eddie and I have
done and Brandon have done some music stuff talking. But

(33:33):
we definitely expect to be back. And by the way,
on this feed will be exactly the same, so nothing
is changing. If you're listening to the audio version of this,
you're gonna still get the audio version. It's gonna fall
on your feed just like it always does. The only
difference is the show is coming off of YouTube. Clips
are still gonna be on YouTube and large clips, but
the whole episodes will be on Netflix. So we have

(33:54):
some really great episodes coming up. But that's why we
haven't had guests because we've been recording. It's a bit
of a different process with Netflix because we have to
have them edited and loaded up way ahead of time,
different standards more so, we were just loading up on YouTube,
so it's a.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Little different dealing with a bigger platform, I guess.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Yeah, So that's what's up if you want to. We
took a hiatus from guests, although I bet you nobody noticed.
It's just popping up the feet and they're going, Oh,
I enjoy this or I don't. We've announced we've taken
a hiatus from guests, although I think next week is
our last week without guests. Is that correct, Mike?

Speaker 2 (34:30):
That is correct?

Speaker 1 (34:31):
And I don't want to say who our first guests
are going to be yet because who I think is
going to be our first guest and I think I
may have said this with Kaitlin, who is we haven't
recorded it yet so they could get sick.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Yeah, So you don't want to say so I don't.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
Want to say it. I think they'll they'll be in eventually.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
But yeah, does the podcast go up before the Netflix
or how does that work? Like do podcast listeners get
a sneak peek of who it is before you can
watch it? The whole world can watch on Netflix?

Speaker 1 (34:57):
Do you mean they can listen to it first, the
whole thing?

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah, Like, can you is it released first by listening to.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Both's going to be on the same day, like Tuesday?

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Okay, so both it all comes out the same.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
I think so, right, Mike, like twelve oh one whatever. Yeah,
I don't know, dude, probably sounds very complicated.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
Good question.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Oh, I just thought maybe like ooh, I can hear
who it is first and then watch on Netflix later.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Well, you can hear who it is probably because I'll
post a picture going this person's gonna be a guest
coming out. It makes sense more so that all right, Uh,
we're done, Thank you guys. Check out the episode from
earlier in the week with my wife Caitlin. We'll have
another one or two next week, and then we launch
back with all the guests the week after that. Maybe
you like the once with that guest. I don't know.

(35:42):
What you like, all right, that's it. Thank you. We
will see you guys next week.
