Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hey, welcome to episode five eighty nine, and so we're
going to vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
If you've been listening to the Bobbycast for years, you
know that for some reason, they think I should have
a vote and who makes the rock and Roll Hall
of Fame. And every year we stupidly get together as
a group, me and all my buddies and make our
picks and then submit it as mine, which I am
(00:26):
not sure is legal. So it's me Eddie and Brandon Ray.
You're gonna hear all about it. And so here we
are going through all of the people that are nominated
for this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and
then us picking who we think it should be. All right,
welcome to the Bobbycast, where we are going to vote
for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now, the
(00:47):
situation is I am a voting member of the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame, people who vote. That's not
the actual name of it, but I don't I feel
like it is. And instead of me just voting for
the past few years, I've brought in my friends to
help me pick and we will nominate. I think it's
seven people. So I'd like to introduce people. First of all,
(01:07):
he's produced songs for the Beatles. He was also part
of Journey for Nobody. He's a music producer, singer, songwriter,
artist Brandon Ray also the other half of my comedy band,
The Raging Idiots. Uh. And he can play a bar
a chord, which I think is so good.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yes, with that.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
That's Eddie and I'm Bobby and let's vote. So here's
what it says. As you make your ballot selections, Please
consider the following excellence. Has the artist demonstrated exceptional artistic quality,
vision and execution, innovation? Has the artist advanced the art
through you? Note cards, excellence anything in your life? This
(01:54):
is important. This is the Hall of Fame, influence and impact.
So how this will work is Eddie and I will
debate it out. If we do not come to a conclusion, Brandon,
you will be the final vote. Okay. Now we're supposed
to nominate I believe seven. Okay. What I'm gonna do
(02:18):
first is go through all the selections and you guys
can just give me a line about what you think
about the people. Perfect Black Crows is one of the
people up for nominee.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Eddie black crowse, do you want to line a classic?
I mean, this is a classic rock legends, so yes.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yes or no.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I'm just saying classic rock legends with massive hits.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Brandon, I'm gonna I'm gonna echo what Eddie just said.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yes, I'm not. I don't think they're classic rock legends.
I think there were contemporary with a classic rock sound.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Oh dang, okay, yeah, hey wow.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
That's one part of the voting. Now. I just think
when they existed, it was new, but it was cool
because it also had very old elements to it, but
they still made it new and they did have some
some jams. I guess we were around when they were
doing it, so around we were like, we're buying their music.
Now we're young though, I mean I remember some of
the albums.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
I was probably in middle.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
School when She Talks to Angels came out. That's probably
what twelve.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Right huge influences on all of us.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
We've said she talks to Angels. That song came out,
she talks to Angels. I'm going to guess ninety three
years Oh well, still I remember ninety ninety Yes, see, man,
we're young. Also, they had a song that was a
cover that I didn't know was a cover until I
got older too hard to hand of now. Yeah, the month,
(03:37):
which is a jam obviously. Okay, so they're a Black Crows.
And if we want, if anybody goes eliminated, you can.
We won't say yes. Yeah, but if you think there's
no way they should be in, we can say that.
You can say that now because there's two four cities
in twelve fourteen, there's like seventeen. Thanks Jeff Buckley. Definitely
(04:01):
not eliminated now. Jeff Buckley, to me has one song
and it's great and it's even a cover song. Yes,
and he had a good album and by the way,
heck of a documentary, great documentary. People can watch that too.
I just don't I don't think just because you're dead
it should help you. But you can't do anything else,
(04:21):
that's right, So if you were alive, he would have
made more music. You don't know that well, you don't know.
If there's a lot of one hit wonders that the
logic of a one hit wonder is dead then because
they kept living after they had a great song.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
That's not fair, though, those one hit wonders they had
the chance. Jeff Buckley didn't have the chance.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Lou Bega. He had the chance jam okay, Jeff Buckley.
So what I'll just say quickly about Jeff Buckley is
I do really love his sound, and I loved when
his sound was because it was so it was the
juxaposition of him and all that other music.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
That was happening at the time.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Sure completely different, and he was very avant garde acoustic
or electric set. Yeah, he was just minimal. There is
a great way to put his music. Very minimal is
now man bred. And I worked on American Autol for
(05:12):
a bunch of years. Everybody did that song really maybe
hate it.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Well, you know why they did it because Jeff Buckley's
voice was unbelievable. So to them, they're feeling if I
cover a Jeff Buckley song, they're gonna see my voice
as something unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
True.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I almost want to say eliminated. I won't, don't do it.
I just don't think he has the Body Award.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
We're doing the tiebreaker now, Well, oh he can for elimination. Oh,
you can say eliminated if you want to eliminated. Okay, wow, second, No,
Jeff Buckley, you guys suck. I think his work.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
I loved it. I just don't think it's enough. You
need to listen to Grace the album. You need to
listen to two people that are talking to eliminated eliminated it.
Next up, Mariah Carey, one of the greatest pop stars
you ever existed?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Line yes, yes, I mean huge name who doesn't know
a huge name who doesn't know Mariah Carrey Like everyone
knows Maria Carrey.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Then didn't You didn't love Mariah Carrey? Then no, I didn't.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
But Christmas Time, he's got one of the biggest Christmas
songs ever.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
When I was ten years old, I wrote a letter
to Mariah Carey, this is one hundred percent true. Put
a picture of myself holding a present like Merry Christmas
to you. You're a huge inspiration fantasy. The album is incredible.
No response still to this day, keep keep waiting.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
No no, no, no no, I think she hasn't gotten
around to rue that's true. I the first two CDs
I ever bought, not tape CDs. The first two CDs
ever bought were a CDC Ball Breaker and Mariah Carey
Stops Stop No No.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Those were literally two of my my favorite CDs too.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Those were the first two you bought No, it was
like a CDC ballbreaker and Mariah Carey Fantasy Dude were
the two. Yeah. And then I wrote her a letter
and she was like, why is this? Brandon got mailing
me letters and I was like, trust me later in life.
So okay, Ryan Carrey is and I don't think we
could possibly eliminate her to eliminations to that. Phil Collins,
oh man, Phil Collins, and I'm going from non notes.
(07:11):
So if I'm wrong about stuff, I'm happy to admit.
In a later episode, Phil Collins was the drummer of
Genesis Correct. They looked for e lead singer and it
was almost like Dick Cheney when it was like Dick
Cheney's like, I'm gonna find a vice president. I guess
it's me.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
You know.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
That's how he ended up being the vice president.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
So what was Peter Gabriel?
Speaker 1 (07:30):
He was a singer.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Okay, he was a lead singer.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
And so Peter Gabriel goes and does his own thing,
leaves the band. Phil Collins is just like I got microphones.
It's so crazy to sing and play drums. It is
because when I play drums, I can't sing and when
I sing, I can't play drums, but I can't sing
or play drums, so it's really as it's like the
patty in your head and rubbing your stomach, you know,
like it really is. Phil Collins is awesome. Yeah, he's awesome,
And that's almost to me going that's he should just
(07:55):
be one of the seven. We can get back around
to it. But his sound to me, nothing personified the
cool eighties because I think there's lame eighties, there's hair
band eighties. Yeah, I think there's Michael Jackson eighties, and
I think there's cool ladies. Phil Collins to me is
cool ladies.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yeah, I mean Phil Collins is. I mean, I'm surprised
he's not in the Hall of Fame already. I'll say
that like I thought, I would have thought I would
have been one hundred dollars that he was already in there.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Tarzan, do you have to say it's gonna say you'll
be my, you'll be in my and then imagine this,
so watch this, you'll be my. He's doing it himself. Okay,
still in We've only omitted once so far. Melissa Etherrige.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Mm hmm, she has.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Awesome.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
SuSaNi only one.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
That's not even the biggest jan to me, lumb to
my window? What's lum to my window? I thought he
was looked through my window. Now that's what you do,
come to my window. I'm not gonna eliminat her because
I think she was big, like Lilith Fair, which very
much more than just songs. Huge. I'm not gonna eliminate her.
(09:09):
It's gonna be tough for her break top seven for me.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
I think she was a spokesperson for lesbians all around
the world.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
I don't know if she was, but she was for them.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
She is a tireless advocate for lb lgbt Q, post rights, press,
Cancer Awareno, or are you looking for me to back
you up? After you say yeah, I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I think that she she picked up a guitar day Jade.
I'm not gonna I'm gonna. I'm an eliminator.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Okay, I'll eliminate too. I'm glad you did because I
was thinking it. Yeah, but if I was alone, I'm
not gonna be alone in that island.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Yeah, I'm an eliminator. She did have some jams, and
I do understand her cultural significance. Yes, it's gonna be
a tough year to get in. Yeah, Lauren Hill, Lauren Hill.
I love that she she shows up at her own
concerts four hours late.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
You know what that was.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
I think what she considered that. I think, yeah, into
her body of work is that she does. She never
gets to her shows on time. I'm surprised by.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
That because you are a person that loves timeliness, and
if I was there.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I'd be mad. But it's just hilarious that she starts
to show at like twelve thirty.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Can you award tardiness though?
Speaker 1 (10:16):
You know for rock and roll Hall of Fame? What's
more rock and roll? A good point. So this is
Lauren Hill, not Fuji's Lauren Hill as a solo artist. Correct,
Lauryn Hill X factor Lauren Hill, do wa sister act girl? Yeah?
You know you better watch o'u lom to my window
and then watch you be loum to my window is
(10:38):
not a thing, Okay, I just did to make fun
of me. Yeah, I look it through my windows. Okay,
But I don't think we can consider that as part
of the fujis. Although I'm telling you that album, The
Miseducation of Laurence Hill, that's awesome, so breakthrough, so amazing
that even like me, I bought that record. I'm going
to leave her in for now.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
The impact, true impact is there.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
That's one of the greatest. I think it's one of
the whatever the t and fifty great albums of all time.
I think we should that should be considered an agree
so we won't kick her out.
Speaker 6 (11:11):
We interrupt this interview to bring you a message from
our sponsor, and we're back on the Bobby Cast.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Billy idol Uh wedding singer.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Yes, he was an actor and wedding singer.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
He's just a little before me. This is tough because
not only was he before me. You know, we talked
about cheesy eighties. Yes he fits in that for me,
he was cheesy eighties. But that doesn't mean he's not awesome.
He does have white wedding and rebel yell oh yeah
yale she yell mo. And I have the Elvis lip too.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I don't know if I met him you.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Last year where backstage at festival. He's nice.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
That's cool.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yeah, he's nice. That's good. I mean I think that
alone should get him in. Yeah, considering him at least
and he had nice it's a nice to start again.
May he had a bunch of songs that's white wedding,
that is white wedding. Yeah, well then he had that
one twice, Billy Idol. We don't leave him in, I
would leave him in. Okay.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
To me, that's a again classic rock legend.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Okay, in Excess, man, I don't know much.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
About Excess other than the guy uh yeah, killed himself.
I didn't maybe didn't mean to, just trying to get off.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yeah, that's weird you'd say that like that. I wouldn't
have said it like yeah, yeah, yeah, that's just a
weird way to even say. It just feels creepy. It
does feel weird.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Actually, once I said it, I was like, that's kind.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Of weird yet a new wave but then like nineties
and to me, I just I want you to know
what did that song? I don't know. I'll do it again.
I want you to know. Okay, yeah, still do you
know that one?
Speaker 5 (12:59):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I don't because it because it's like, don't make me
look up in Excess song. Everything is the Tarzan song.
He goes, he goes dah right now did you go? Oh? Well, okay, yeah, okay,
I know that I need you tonight. That's what it is,
(13:23):
is that same song. I don't know, but I do
know that.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Okay, so that's an excess, Okay.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
I'm gonna eliminate them. Enjoyed the bit we just did.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
But I bet that I bet they're huge, and I
bet they probably deserve to be in there.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
But I just don't, you know, they have the what
the rock Star Supernova show looking for a lead singer.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
For a new late singer. In fact, Brandon won that, yeah,
and then he just quick, quick, yeah, all he knew
was and they were like, nah, man, you got a
lot more, oh a new say right now, what else?
(14:09):
Did four top ten singles in the US. That's not
enough for Rock and Hall of Now as far as
our voting influence and impact, what do you think? I
don't think so. So eliminated Elemonade, Iron Maiden not that's
not for me.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
It's not definitely not for me either. But I remember
people would call me Eddie the Iron Maiden because I
think the Iron Maiden mascot his name was Eddie.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
I didn't know that, which I think, I think you're right,
which I think was the guy, you know, the skeleton
and all the artwork.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
But no, I couldn't. I couldn't name you one Iron
Maiden song.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
The only thing about Iron Maiden that I know. And
Brandon's much more, Brandon saying background vocals on the new
not Iron Maiden album, but the new album.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Who's opening their tour this year?
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Opening the Iron Maiden? Oh, then you better say yes
because you get beat up really awesome. They kind of
set the standard for what like metal should look like
and like be like the whole thing. Yeah, it's it's
not for me, Brandon, Linda something here.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Big song Run for the Hills if you if you
hear it, you'll be like, yeah, I know that song.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Okay, give us a little bit. Does it go? Yeah?
Does it have harmonizing guitars? Like that?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
A ton of that stuff. Their cultural will impact globally.
There is a there's a documentary called It's called Flight
six six six totally appropriate. Their lead singer is a
pilot and he flies their seven forty seven jet all
over the world and stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
If you were the pilot of our raging idiots playing
that sell for real.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
But everywhere they go, I'm telling you, soccer stadiums, bro.
They fill up soccer stadiums all over.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
The except America or they do America too.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
They still they do America. I think it's more arena
type stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
But you know, so they are an American the.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
British. Yeah, you know, dam McCain drives his own tour bus.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
That's cool.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Really yeah yeah? Joy Division New Order not my vibe?
Man Electronic? Is that just I can't act like that.
I'm such a fan to vote for them because there
are other good ones. I'm going to be ignorant on
Joy Division. I listened to some before I came in.
It's not my thing. I can't vote for them same
(16:27):
I eliminate them.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
I would eliminate them too. I mean, if my brother
were here, he would probably be able to speak on
their music and how awesome they are. But I mean
I don't. I don't know anything about them.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
You I just know the shirt, what shirt everybody wears
now Joy Division shirt? And is it rock and roll?
Speaker 1 (16:44):
But it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
I know, Hall of Fame is just is Mariah Carey
rock and roll?
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah? She did make wasn't she only made the hit
The Secret Rock Album and never came out. Well then, well,
I mean they didn't get them out of Yeah, yeah,
that's a whole other debate about rock and rock, and
they do fight about it. But I think if it's
contemporary music, that counts as rock, and that's a good point. No,
I like it, you don't like it, but that's okay.
I expect I understand why you say that.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
So are we can eliminate enjoy division? I am yeah,
I would eliminate.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Okay, new edition. M dude, I don't know who they are.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Who's new edition?
Speaker 1 (17:25):
You don't know?
Speaker 3 (17:25):
New edition?
Speaker 1 (17:26):
No new edition?
Speaker 2 (17:27):
No, sing me a song of theirs?
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Which one would you like?
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Bobby Brown?
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Pick one?
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Oh it's Bobby Brown? Yeah? Oh like like want to cool? Cool?
I talk to say cool it now cool? You know
cooler now cool? Yeah? That cool and now is a jam?
Telephone Man was a jam.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
So but Bobby Brown was a big artist alone that okay.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
See Johnny Gill was in So you don't okay, so
because of your lack of knowledge of it, you can
eliminate it. I will leave them in for now.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
I would eliminate based on that. I just don't want
to act like, oh yeah, they definitely need to be in.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
A new edition growing up, But you can eliminate. I'm
not choosing to. But if you do, we're gone. Are
we at that stage yet? We're just we're just eliminating.
Only are you liminating?
Speaker 3 (18:20):
I'm gonna I'm gonna limit eliminating good haters.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Okay, all right? Oasis to put them in Oasis, wasn't
Oasis in the life and last year too? They make
it what It doesn't really matter. They're just they just
put them in the Hall of Fame. I just don't
want them mad at me. Build a wing, you know. Yeah.
I don't know what else we need to say about
Oasis except they hit us right in our right time,
of our age, of our life. Yes, sure, Like what
(18:43):
story Morning Glory is?
Speaker 2 (18:45):
When when Wonderwall came out, It's like, what is that sound?
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Right? I love it all. My wife, who is not
an Oasis fan because she grew up beyond she's basically
twelve years younger than I am, she did not get
to experience Oasis when they were reuniting. It was all
up in her TikTok feet and she was like, I
think I'm into this, and so it was so much
in her algorithm. She said, Hey, they're getting back together
in Manchester, do you want to go to Manchester like
it convinced her that quick. That's cool, always stays in right, absolutely,
(19:13):
do not eliminate. Okay, we have five more Pink.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
I'm coming up.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
That's when you go to interesting.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Yes, that's my first Pink song.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
So I was in radio whenever Pink started in like
ninety eight or so. There you go talking about and
she was signed to like La Face, which was she
was like a hip hop artist at first kind of
and that was kind of a presentation. And she's changed
over the years because she's so like just so talented.
Pink's awesome. Man, I just don't even you know what's
weird about Pink is I don't even feel she's old.
(19:47):
That's me too. It's like wow, like already.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Like I feel like, do you guys think it's too early,
because it could be too early for some artists.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
I say, well, so twenty five years after the debut album,
I think that's it. So it's that for her she
starts a young but she just is still so young
to me now, like when I see her because she
was filling it for Kelly Clarkson show, so relevant, like
it's not even a yeah, it's not even about that
she doesn't deserve to be in. Yeah, I feel like
she's so relevant now.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
And we saw her perform a few years ago at
a festival and where she remember she.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Was hanging acrobatic stuff.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Like I mean, she's so current, it's hard to see
her as like a legend act, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
I think that eliminates her because I think she deserves
to get in, But I think she's still so relevant.
She has so much more time to get in for
sure that half these other acts are going to die
in next week there. So I'm only eliminating Pink because
she's so relevant.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Now, Okay, Okay, I like that.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
It's a pure respect. Let's say complimentary eliminade.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Do you want to jump in on that. I'm in Okay, eliminated.
Speaker 7 (20:49):
Hank Ty. The Bobby Cast will be right back. Welcome
back to the Bobby Cast.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Shot a man. If I tell you I listened to
Shoa in the bathtub, If I tell you have done
it once down at a hundred times, Wow, when's the
last time you did it? Nick, It's been a while
because I'm married now. It's so she has a couple
of songs that you would know anyway, I know like
smooth operata. I'm a smooth operata and then never meant
(21:32):
I just wish I could sing or play and that
is s a d e right.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
With a thingy Okay, yeah, oh I remember her. She
was really pretty.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
That sounded creepy. It sounds like when you said get
off or whatever. I remember her. She was pretty, dude,
she was really pretty. Man. Let mean find this song
from think it was Sauda because that's how it spelled,
but it is. None of my friends ever listened to her,
so I never heard it, so I only just said
what I saw. I'm gonna pull up here. So the
(22:06):
song that I love so much, I can't play it
because it's gonna be we'll get in trouble.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
It's not smooth operating.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
No smooth oup. There was a big hit, but man,
the one that listened to in the bathstab all the time,
not that one.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Hold on, Oh that's saxophone man.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Jezebel, Sweetest Taboo. Maybe it's not on our greatest hits.
It was a B side that you would listen to
in the No. No, I'm telling you if you heard it.
Let me see what her biggest songs are. If you
heard this song, you probably want to take a bath. Well,
let's hear it. That's how good it is. Mike, what's
your biggest streaming song? Smooth Operator? Mm hmmmm.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
So would you purposely look for this song while you
were in the bathroom?
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Did it just come out in the playlist? It's the
greatest song ever, that's not it. I gotta find it
and then come back. I can't put her in though.
I can't. Based on a time love alone, I can't.
I mean, you can do time Hall of Fame, she'ld
be number one. Yeah, I definitely have to find what
song it is. How do you think of an aside
your baby? You know me better than that. That's how
(23:16):
it kind of goes. Get out of my head. That's it,
by your side to find it? Oh, I can't really
play it on this because Netflix will fire us. I
just like hearing you sing it.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I know, but I do too, don't get me wrong,
but I can never know what song it is when
you're singing it.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Yeah, that's the hard part. I know. Still makes me
want to take it. Let's say we play like nah,
I just play it for a bit, but guess I
think you know me better than that, all right, I
love that song. Can't put her in. I'm gonna have
to eliminate her just because it to me, uh, wasn't
enough of a fan. We got three more before we
(23:50):
pick Shakira. Oh, Eddie's listened to his phone. See if
you recognize that. Okay, Eddie's got adapt to a little
acoustic guitar. Yeah, wonder if it's the same it's called
that's it? Yeah, yeah, you can hear a little then
you hear go think God days a sad baby. All
I'm doing now is picture of the bath eyes closed
(24:10):
bubbles too? Are you playing with any like? What's wrong
with like a rubber ducky? You have toys in there?
That's wrong with you? I've heard this song, isn't it awesome?
You know me better than that.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I'm gonna eliminade though, Yeah, I'm with you, eliminade Shakira, shakina, shakuina.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
A little bit of pink complex here, not as much
pink because I think pink's a little more relevant. I
think car internationally is massive. Shakira, Like what comes to mind?
Speaker 6 (24:41):
You?
Speaker 1 (24:41):
You my cliff doing hipston't lie?
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Hips don't lie for sure? And then there is the
one that came out in a cartoon. I think, like Zootopia,
say everything, how about whatever?
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Whatever?
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Yeah, be too good. A little bit of the pink
complex here. I think she's still a little too young
for me to give her a spot right now. It's
a bit a discrimination. I know. Are we eliminating too much? Though?
Speaker 2 (25:02):
Are we gonna run out of people?
Speaker 1 (25:04):
I don't think I have two more to talk about.
Luther Vandros. Uh, the NCAA Tournament is not as sweet
as it can be without one. Luther Vandros was kind
of a one on one meaning he did the whole
came up Apollo Theater where they would just boo you
(25:26):
if you suck?
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, is not the cane when they
get the cane out.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
No, that's uh, that's the frog on Looney Tunes. Yeah, confused.
He was like a background singer or songwriter, like a
ranger through the seventies. Was like, I don't want to
say crooner because I don't know if that's enough, if
that's respectful enough. I love like you know less? Yeah
(25:54):
yeahmember that one dance my father, Remember dance my father.
That's what makes me want to cry because I didn't
have father and I can't and I couldn't dance dance
with him because he didn't have one. But that was
a great song that that hit hard for you.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Yeah, what about the Kendrick song like the World is Mud?
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Okay, so that's Luther and that song is Luther. That's
that's cool. I'm leaving lutherandros say, yeah, I like that
so too, and uh and then Wu Tang. I don't
know how this thing happens without Wu Tang. I'm be
honest with you.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
I mean, I don't know a lot of Wu Tang.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Man.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
This is a bad year for me, dude. There's a
lot of I'm finding myself saying I don't know a
lot of these.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
I'm going to say something controversial. I think that ODB,
even by himself, is one of the best hip hop
artists that ever existed.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
And ODB wasn't.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
You just have a stroke?
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Why did that even creep in me today?
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah? Okay, ye met the man ghost Face Killer. I
know all those guys. Yeah, Ray Kwan, you're crazy, man.
I'm sure there are others that I'm not pull those
are the ones that kind of my mind the most.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
I know all those guys.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
I so what were you saying? None of this could
be I just don't think. I think that was like
a collective that was they made freaking And again you
had to understand, this is a white guy from Arkansas
saying this right, because some people are gonna be like,
you know hip hop, You're right, You're right. They they
were so great and new and transcendent as a group,
(27:37):
and then they had the ability to all break off
into their own projects and then still come back and
like and like Wu Tang forever. But also grew up
in a school that wasn't a white so like, I
have a lot of I don't know. I was a
Wu Tang kid for a big, a big part of
my kidness and I love odb Oh baby, you no, no,
(28:02):
who is that?
Speaker 3 (28:03):
That is?
Speaker 1 (28:05):
So you've never met a girl that you try to date? Dan?
You never? But does that you got to date that
you try to date? Yeah? You you got what I need.
That's not mar He was also on the Kids Shower
Kids Show. He played the music in the Nickelodeon show
(28:26):
You can't say that on television? No, no, no, oh, you
don't know anything about biz Marquis. Do you know I
don't music, maybe like biz Mark's not up for Okay,
So here's who we have that we haven't eliminated. We
got to pick seven.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
We got the Black Crows, Mariah, Phil Collins that's three,
Lauren Hill, Oasis, Luther Vandros, and Wu Tank that's seven.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
I think seven. Well that was easy. It was easy, dude,
That's what I'm saying. We were eliminating a lot while
we were just talking. Then I'm like, are we gonna
have enough? I think we did it.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Okay, can you name those again? Black Crows.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
I'm gonna vote. I gotta vote in for the Black Crows. Boom,
are you submitting right now? Right now? That's awesome. By
the way, if anyone is watching this from the committee,
turn channel, because we've done this before and I keep
waiting to not be invited back as a member, but
you do you still do the next took at the invites, like,
please vote Riah Carey. That's two, Letta make sure here.
(29:32):
Phil Collins, that's three. That's good. Lauren Hill that's four,
Oasis is five, Luther Vandros is six, and Wu Tang
is seven. That's awesome, dude. There you go. We did it. Okay,
so I did all seven wu tang? Do you want
to see, like, here's my votes just to show you guys,
the yellow ones here.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Okay, all of them.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I'm gonna do submit my votes, all right.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
I'm a little hurt that Jeff Buckley's not in there,
but that's okay, there's always next year.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
You already submit, it's too late. I don't. Well, they
wanted to hold on age range. Okay, your age range. Well,
then this is ethnicity and race and I think combined.
We're kind of a it's a but we're just gonna
go with hybrid. We're just gonna go No, we're not
hybrid y Okay, occasion, all right, we're in boys occasion,
(30:24):
got it? Check? Yeah? Two verses one. Yeah, that's fine. Yeah,
that's fine, thank you. Uh So I feel good. Everybody
feel good about that? Yeah kind of okay, Okay, thanks
for listening to that episode. What you're gonna hear in
the next episode they may already even be up. But
by the time you hear this but tomorrow, if you're
listening to this, Brand New is with Chris Robinson, e
(30:45):
lead singer of the Black Crows. So he's one of
the artists that we just picked that should go in
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But so listen
to that. Thank you for listening, and until next time,
Bye everybody. This has been a Bobby Cast production.
