you only have a certain amount of time, clock, you

So the lightning deals happen, and so your brain's basically going,
all right, if I don't buy it now, I may

So they hit you with that lightning deal. There's a
thing they do where they do a percentage. The one
that I saw was only eight percent claimed. Now that
is not one that makes you jump. But what they
do is they show a bar and so it can
be ninety three percent claimed with only seven percent left.

So I've never understood what that meant.

Well, there's only seven percent left of the one hundred percent,
it'd be the same. Sometimes you'll go and it'll say
only four left.

The problem with the bar is they can they can

I'm looking up to my twenty first more than I
just had my twenty.

Another thing they do since new deals are appearing every minute.
It's constant dopamine hits, so there could be deals that

put it back on it five mostly for that refresh
feeling or that dopamine hits. It's like pulling a lever

popping up, you just keep checking to see what's up there?

like I just bought something, like I just bought a
like I bought what do you call it, a stainless
steel skillet, Well, now I need to cover for it,
Like now I need to buy the cover. They don't
sell that together. You gotta buy them separately.

I don't know anything about skillets. Do you really need

I mean it is for certain things that you cook.

feel like you're saving money, which you can then spend

they're complaining about. I need to read about like are

not true with all of that, but the tactics during

just is what it is, or are they always trying
to trick.

It's really three hundred dollars, but that's gonna make it
two ninety nine to make you think that it's more
closer to the two hundred dollar amount than it is
the three hundred dollars amount.

I think in capitalism we're trying to get the most
for the least, just in general, right.

I mean I used to do sea walls. We would

or any damage at all. Knock on the door, Hey,
we're here. We build sea walls.

We love to put a bid, and so it's people
putting bids in against each other, and you don't put
in the bid for what it actually calls.

I mean, everything's as high as you can get it,

you're trying to get the most for the least.

It's just hard because my dad was a great businessman,
great businessman, but he was a liar like it was.

higher than probably what they needed to be, but the

the samples of the carpet that we needed, and then
we said, we want this one. How much for this one?
He gave us a price and we said, man, we

saw on his phone it looked like this. There was
no one on the phone. I know, one wasn't talking

Yeah. My boss says, cool, we'll do it when you

these are other people that have done it. Here's how
to go to them as fifty thousand dollars. Wow, they

clone your dogsh and you can have the same DNA
of the dog, but we or animals were created. But
then we live, learn and survive by our environment, yes,
and our experiences, and that's such a massive part of
who we are as people, how we act towards things.

now it's completely scared of other big dogs and acts

Do you ever have it? We'll end on this. Do
you ever have any jobs that you almost got that
you didn't get? I mean that you can.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
I was in the office the other day and we
had finished an interview with Cole Swindell, who's a country singer.
And I rarely leave the studio, but I'm really close
to some of Cole's team because they're all so Luke
Bryan's team, and Luke.

Speaker 3 (43:01):
And I are close friends.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
So I wanted to go out and see Cole's manager
because it's Luke's manager. And I walk out and I'm
talking to her and there's a guy that works on
Cole's team in a different capacity. I don't know if
it's management, probably part of management.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
And he comes up. He says, hey, introduced himself. I'd
met him before, but I don't know if he knew
I knew I met him before. I was like, hey,
good to see you again.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
Always my line, but I knew I'd had this guy before.
And he said, he Ben, Is it good. He goes,
you know, I used to work in Atlanta at this
radio station. I think it's called Star.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
I said, oh yeah. He said, back when you were
like twenty five or something, you applied for a job
there and we hire you because he was one of
the main people. He said, but we almost hired you.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
We we just thought you were too young and you
were just a little I don't know if you used
the word maybe outrageous. We used a little outrageous for
our brand. And I thought, oh, I said, I was
pretty heartbroken about that. I didn't, so I'm looking back. Look,
I'm glad I didn't get it because my path led
me to a completely different way, in a way that

(44:06):
was so much bigger than probably if I just went
to Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
And took that job.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
He said, But yeah, we were. It was down to
the very end, and it was you or this other person.
And we picked this as a person because they more experienced.
They were like fifteen years older than you.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
Wow, that's the first time you knew that.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
I never knew that till till right then. That's crazy.
So I almost got that job. I'm glad I didn't,
wise man once said, because I remember praying, let me
have that job. Dear Lord. Oh really, and so so
the prayer was what it was unanswered.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Oh wow, But so sometimes looking back, I thank God
for I answered prayers.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
Looking back, Hey, you almost went into another one though,
looking back, So I didn't know that. So I started
listing jobs where I almost got hired.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Okay that I did not love it. I did not
get hired for these jobs. These are the ones that
I know.

Speaker 3 (44:54):
So that Atlanta job started this other almost jobs I
went and I filled in as a guest host on
The Talk, which was the CBS version of The View.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
I remember that, not sure if it's still running, but
it went on for a decade and they had me
come in for a week and just co host. And
I know when things are going well because they asked
more of you and I was crushing it and there
were no dudes on that show. It was all women,
but they were looking to bring in a guy. I

(45:27):
was crushing it so hard. I started to think, Oh,
I might have to move to LA and then do
our show.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
With me in La. Oh my gosh, that would have
been crazy.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
And I ended up getting a call as I was
flying back. Hey, they loved you, but they're gonna go
with Jerry O'Connell.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
If he doesn't take it, they definitely want to have
conversations with you and possibly negotiate. And Jerry O'Connell got
the job and he's on it for five or six years. Yeah,
and he's super funny.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
I love that guy. He was good on that show.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
I feel like I've met him, but I don't think
I ever have. I think he's done a zoom interview
with us before, yeah, but never in person. Right now,
and then I listened to him on part of My Take,
which is the podcast I listened to. He's on there
a lot, and I have a friend that knows him,
so I don't know him, but he's done a great job.

Speaker 1 (46:14):
Almost got that job, damn. And they were They were
open and honest about it.

Speaker 3 (46:17):
They said, we're gonna hire Jerry O'Connell, but it doesn't
work like we loved you.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
But we think he's the guy. I think he lived
in LA. He was a little more, he was more
famous than I was.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
So were you heartbroken on that one?

Speaker 3 (46:29):
I remember praying what you pray? Can it, Dear God,
I'd like to have this job. That prayer wasn't answered.
But now that I look back, I'm glad I didn't.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
Have to move to LA for that job because I'd
have been a daytime talk show host with a bunch
of fig So you know what I think, God, friend
answer prayers?

Speaker 2 (46:47):
Yeah, there we go.

Speaker 1 (46:47):
But I really I was a little I was a
little heartbroken, but at least I got to know quick
quickly about that one.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
Yeah, they were honest with you.

Speaker 1 (46:53):
So didn't get that one. Jerry O'Connell got it. Oh
here's something I did on that show though, I mean
I was crushing it by winds Day. I felt like
it was my show.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
I'm lucky to be versatile enough in pop culture, sports
news women, Yes, meaning I know, Oh yeah, I mean
I'm a tampon away from being a chick. Yeah, and clarify,
you don't mean it like I'm a manly man. I
know women.

Speaker 1 (47:25):
Very close, raise ball, women like fashion, that that type
of stuff.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
You're women.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
So me and all the ladies were just feel I
was just feeling it. And so the thing about that
show is I didn't get to pick the content. All
my shows, I pick all the content.

Speaker 1 (47:43):
And so they would call and they would give you
a quick talk before the show and go, Okay, here's
what we're going to do. This is the order we're
going to go to you. And there was a story
I believe it was. I think it was Stephen Colbert
and every night before he would go on, he had
something in his his studio or somebody that was there
with all these years.

Speaker 3 (48:03):
It would like give him a pep talk or something.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
It was something he held on to for a long time,
person or a thing, don't remember specifically. They said, if
you have anything like that, let us know, we'd love
for you to talk about it. And I said, oh,
I got something.

Speaker 3 (48:15):
It's great.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
And my wife was with me in the car because
she's dropping me off at the studios. And I said, oh,
that's amazing. We're going to lead with your story. And
I said, okay, you told him what it was.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Yeah, yeah, you gotta tell him. Yeah. They don't like
mystery surprises.

Speaker 1 (48:31):
And so I go and they go, hey, then Stephen
Colbert is doing this thing and forget what it was,
I said, anybody, I said, yeah. I pulled out my
wallet and I had this note that I had kept
since high school that I wrote myself in high school,
and it was basically, hey, keep trying, the best days

(48:52):
are ahead. Everything you do effects. It was this real
nice note i'd written myself cool that I had kept
for twenty five years or so. So I read it
and people had tears and wow, this is really amazing.

Speaker 3 (49:05):
I finished the show. I got a text my mother
in law. She said, you're lying about that note? Why
that's where I applied? So why? She goes that paper
was too white? And so I said, what do you mean?

Speaker 1 (49:19):
She goes, First of all, I know you you just
are you just gonna do good content or you just
want to be interesting on the show. Secondly, I would
bet that was the hotel stationary that you pulled out
of your wallet.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
She zooms it it was. It's the dreary and my
wife sitting next to me.

Speaker 1 (49:35):
When I told him, I said, oh, I got this
note I wrote myself when I was in high school.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
As as I hung up, she goes, that's such a lie.

Speaker 1 (49:41):
I said, I know, I got to get some paper
real quick and write this note.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
That's so good. Though I pulled it out on TV,
people melting in my hand.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
Of course, if you see that Stephen Colbert thing, if
you look that up, i'd be curious to know what
it was. If I couldn't even find that, you couldn't
find it. Could have even been Kimmel if something like that.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
But that's crushed that. That's why. And then Jerry O'Connor
got the job even after all that, After all that.

Speaker 2 (50:04):
To me, like that would have been like we need
this guy, he needs to be on the show.

Speaker 3 (50:07):
Another one was.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
I was, either they don't only rank you like F
one where it's like first place, second place, third place.
But I know I was in the very very final
calls for that game show No Wammy. Oh yeah, Elizabeth
Banks got that and I knew, Yeah, I think No
Wammy's the new version of it.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Really yeah.

Speaker 1 (50:28):
It used to be called Pressure, so I'm pretty sure
the new version on the network is the same show,
but it's called Noamy and she's the host of that.
She's way more famous.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
I get it, but I thought I was gonna get
that job.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
She's pretty, she's prettier than you.

Speaker 3 (50:45):
And then I shot two pilots they got all the
way to pilot that weren't picked up. One was as
the host as the host.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
One was a talk show on CMT where I had
artists sin and would do comedy sketches.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
Was that shot here okay?

Speaker 3 (51:03):
And then it was shot in the in the CMT
studios and it was it was just like a late
night talk show and they were just wanting something. Did
that did not get picked up.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
Then I went and auditioned with like five hundred other people.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
Oh gosh for ABC daytime talk show where they were
doing like a multiple type show. And I made it
from day one to day three. Every day that people
just kept getting more famous. They get brought in. I
got brought in on. Yeah, if you've ever been listed
as a celebrity birthday on the radio, you're famous. You
get to come in, you know. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
So I go in and it's me and all these
people that have been on reality shows that were like
second tier. And I made it out of that day,
and so the next day it was like Julian Ransick
and Rudy Huxtable, all these people.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
So the next.

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Day, but in that is where I met Dean Sanders
and we both got picked to host a show. And
we spent two months in La shooting, yeah, practicing, shooting,
did the pilot. It ended up not getting picked up
because the people that put it together ended up either
leaving or getting fired at ABC, and so many people
coming in didn't want to have to take a show

(52:13):
they didn't put together.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
That's crazy to me that all that would just be garbage.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
They have so many pilots they don't pick up. It's
just another day to them, I know, it's.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
Just to me, like, that's so much content that's just
not used.

Speaker 1 (52:25):
The other one is the Dancing with the Stars host
Oh the hosts and I talked Tom.

Speaker 3 (52:29):
Bergeron about that because they were saying, hey, Tom's leaving
love to have you be the host. I'm like, I'm in.
Can I ask Tom some questions about it? No, no, no, no,
no no. I don't realize they're firing him.

Speaker 1 (52:41):
Oh so he had no idea, so we had no idea,
and so he ended up getting fired. And I had
so many conversations about it where I felt good that I.

Speaker 3 (52:50):
Was gonna go. That was gonna be easy because I
was going to go.

Speaker 2 (52:53):
I go back and forth.

Speaker 3 (52:54):
I did the show. Hosting is not as hard as
doing the show, yea. And I remember being on the
driving range and looking at my phone. It's like Ira
Banks hired what so.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
They never my name?

Speaker 3 (53:04):
Wrong?

Speaker 2 (53:04):
No, no, no, Bobby bo.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
T I y r A. And so that's how I
found out. And I called my agent and I said, hey,
they just hired Tyras. She goes, I know, we just
found out too. But I thought I was getting that
job too, and I didn't get it.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
That's tough, man.

Speaker 3 (53:19):
It happens that baby. No, I know, And you're you know,
good for you for dealing with that. Way, I'd be student.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
I would be in a ball still on the first
on the first rejection.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
From Atlanta, you're still sat in Atlanta. I'm no good.
I'm a loser. All right, that's gonna do it. Do
we talk about celebrity weddings at all?

Speaker 2 (53:38):
No, we didn't, mm hmm. But do you want to
talk about Taylor and Travis?

Speaker 3 (53:42):
Well? So that would be the reason that it would happen.
I mean, that's why I've even had the list here.
What's the most famous celebrity wedding in our lifetime that
you feel?

Speaker 2 (53:53):
I think that, uh, for some reason, Princess Diana.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
That's it. The night teen eighty one, Charles, Prince of
Welles and Lady Diana Spencer. So we don't remember that
because we were barely born.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
I remember the crash really well though.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
Okay, that's a whole different thing.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
I know.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
Yeah, I mean, nothing at all, nothing to one of
the people. Decades later, around seven hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (54:19):
Million people watched worldwide d that's crazy. Go ahead, name another.

Speaker 1 (54:24):
I have the top ten that they say is most
famous in our lifetime.

Speaker 3 (54:33):
Man. One of the j.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
Lo's, Oh oh oh, I think a big one too
is Ben is Ben and Jaela.

Speaker 3 (54:41):
So number nine, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
That was in Vegas, right, Bennifer.

Speaker 1 (54:45):
Finally married nearly twenty years after their first engagement. So
did they not get married at first? They just got
married recently, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:50):
The first time they didn't, so they they were benefit
and then they broke up, but they never got married.
Then in the past five years, right, they got married.

Speaker 2 (54:59):
Now they broke their and then yeah, there's nothing Okay,
go ahead, Oh man, this is I'm kind of I can't.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
We talked about one of these people a minute ago.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
A minute ago, well, Michael Jackson. Yeah, Michael Jackson and
Lisa Marie Pressley nineteen.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Ninety four when it was a weird, shocking celebrity marriage
is ever because it was Michael Jackson getting married, and
then it was also Elvia's daughter, right, and both those
things are weird.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
And then weird because like did he marry her? Well, first, yeah,
Michael Jackson getting married, Yeah to a woman was weird.

Speaker 3 (55:36):
And then who that woman was?

Speaker 2 (55:37):
And then the fact was like is he marrying her
just because she's Elvis's daughter.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
Or is he marrying her because he wants us to
see him marrying a woman? Yeah? I have so many questions. Yeah,
that was.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
A big one.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
Brad Pitten Jennifer Aniston. Uh yeah, I don't really remember
that wedding. The breakup ended up being kind of more
famous in the wedding. But it's not even about the wedding.
It's just like the famous marriage, the marriages Tom Cruiseer
Katie Holmes. Oh gosh, dude, that was terrible.

Prince William, I did see that one in Catherine Middleton. Oh,
I remember some of that one.

Speaker 2 (56:06):
That was within the last what ten years?

Speaker 3 (56:10):
I don't know, dude, COVID, meth and brain.

Now are they are they the ones that live here? No? No, no, no, no,
that's Michael.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
Yeah, William is the older one.

Speaker 2 (56:18):
Yes, so they're still over there.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
That was twenty eleven William and Middleton one. Kim Kardashian
and Kanye.

Speaker 2 (56:24):
Yeah, that's a big one. I remember that was part
of the show too, right, wasn't that part of the
Keeping up with the Kardashians.

Speaker 3 (56:31):
Wasn't that all a show? It was?

Speaker 2 (56:33):
But there was a time when, like, you know, they
weren't on air, right, there was a break where they
weren't on air. But it was weird to me seeing
Kanye in a reality show and like he was too famous,
like too you a statue to me, and he's literally
walking around in socks, you know, look in the house
and she's bossing him around and he's not tough at all.
Like that was really weird to me.

Speaker 1 (56:53):
Clooney and them all, oh yeah that's big Prince Harry
and markle We got Ben and Jay and then at
ten on Besis no Courtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.

Speaker 3 (57:07):
Noah, same.

Speaker 2 (57:09):
Yeah, I don't really.

Like I think Justin Tabora and Jessa Bill to me,
I was more interested in than true that one.
