Amy is feeling frustrated and Kat is feeling exhausted, but they show up….so yay! First up, Michelle from Florida keeps a list in her phone of everyone she's feuding with and caps it at 10 people. Kat weighs in on whether that's actually unhealthy or more nuanced than it sounds. Then, Sam from Boston calls with a story about her mom's blind date that took a wild turn when her date showed up just to say his dad died and he had to leave, and they've now been happily married for 13 years. Amy then shares her one and only true blind date story and how that ended up! Amy & Kat also cover the top 20 most common lies we all tell, the real reason you shouldn't be on your phone at the gas pump, and a powerful voicemail from Brittany, who chose to respond with grace instead of anger when dealing with a toxic situation with her mom.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, break it down.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
If you ever have feelings that, it just falls home.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Amy and Cat got your cob and locking.

Speaker 4 (00:10):
No, brother, ladies, fellas, you just.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Follow on the spirit where it's all us front and
real stuff.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Tell the chill stuff and the m but Swayne. Sometimes
the best thing you can do it jes.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Stop to feel things.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
This is feeling things with Amy and Cat.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Happy Tuesday. Welcome to feeling things. I'm Amy and I'm
Cat and out of the gate. I need to just
let y'all know that Cat has an ice pack. She's
hiding because my pants.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
It's not pants, it is if I can get it.
It took me a while to get it back here.
It's just behind my back. I'm having a hot flash.
I can see hot flash. So also, to be fair,
there's a lot of lights in this room.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yes, what size fruit is the baby?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Now? Well, funny you should ask. It's a cauliflower, which
is a head of cauliflower, which is not a fruit.
But okay, well a vegetable. Yeah, the app has or
I have taken some liberties with fruit. So it is
a cauliflower. However it's not Again we have to remember,

(01:17):
it's not as big as I mean, guess my stomach
because as big as a caulifer, but it's the length
of the head of cauliflower. Yeah, got it, And I
feel it now. I feel the cauliflower in my stomach.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
speA youing know feelings. My feeling of the day is frustrated.
Let me give you the scenario and see how you
would feel. So I went to this place to get
something that I have been obsessed with for the last
month or so. And it's this macha drink, but they
mix it with coconut water and strawberries and this cold
foam stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
It's so delicious.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
I went there specifically for that because I needed some
caffeine after I finished the Bobby Bone Show. Then when
I get there, they're hyping up this new thing they have,
which is the same concoction with macha. It's an espresso shot,
so swap out the macha and.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
The strawberries for just coffee.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Everyone's been loving it. Some guy has come here twice
a day for it. It's so good. So I was like, Okay,
I'll give it a go. So I get it and
I get in my car and I'm driving to come
meet you. And it's disgusting.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
It's to be fair, it doesn't sound good.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Well, apparently it's viral on TikTok and everyone's loving it
so much as they added to the menu, which I'm
sure some people love it. For me, it's not my
cup of tea. So I'm frustrated because I went there
specifically for something that I love. I crave it's so yummy.
I don't get it all the time because it's not
really convenient for me, and then it's expensive. So then

(02:48):
I don't like this coffee concoction, and because it's expensive,
I drink the.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Whole thing, and every sip I'm like, get my ten dollars.
Every sip was like you got, And I'm just so frustrated.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Then there's feelings that now I'm disappointed and now maybe
even a little annoyed because I was sold on this
product that I don't like, and now I feel as
thof I should get what I wanted for free.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
So yeah, if you were not in a rush, maybe
you could have been like, well, let me taste it.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
But I don't think they're going to whip up one
for me to just try.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Well, have you never been at a I've been to
like a bar before, when I'm like, oh, I don't
know what I want, Like what do you recommend? And
they'll recommend a drink and I'm like, oh, I don't
know that. They'll say, like, I'm going to make it
for you. If you don't like it, I'll make you
something else. So I feel like that could be similar
if you were lingering.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
If I was lingering out, but I was trying to
be in and out. I mean I had to race
over because they can do. And I was convinced. And
if any of you have seen this viral trend on
TikTok and you're enjoying it great or you want to
buy the stuff to make it at home, it might
not be as.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
But it's Tracey explained. It's just coconut water and espresso,
nothing else. You don't get the foam or anything.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
No, there was the cold film on top, which that's
a yummy concoction that they whip up. And then I
think they sprinkled some coconut sugar on top, which I
could have done without a little granular when.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
It was going through the straw, Like I was like, yeah, but.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
No, I just and now I'm gonna have to go
back because now I'm still craving the macha, so tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Excuse me a twenty dollar it's really going to be
a twenty dollars macha. I'm just like so ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yeah, I've got I did buy some coconut water when
I was at the store the other day, and I
do have some macha. It's just a cold foam thing
that I want. I need to learn how to whip up.
So I was googling some different recipes on how I
could make that. But the concoction is just so nice.
And then the dehydrated strawberries, I'd have to order some
of those. I know that I could whip it up
at all.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
For less grocery store and buy them. You ordered that?

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Just any regular grocery store carries dehydrated strawberries.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yeah, I found Kroger, Yes, yes, Okay, Target really because
that's a it's also like a food that like babies
eat dehydrated fruit. I asked Patrick recently to get me
some healthy snacks. When he went to the grocery store,
came out with packs of dehydrated strawberries and like bananas
and stuff.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Oh so be over in like the the granola baby
a baby fit but also over by granola. You do
have like dried mango and stuff.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yes, yes, yeah, oh I could think about there.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I was just thinking this is a special T item,
but you're right, no.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I think you could get that at a normal grocery store.
I will say the macha. I like macha. That sounds
really good, and I like coffee, but that coffee does
not sound good to me. So I do want to
commend you on being adventuress. That was really cool of you.
I also know that feeling, you know, like when you
go to a restaurant, you're like, I get the same
thing every time, I'm going to branch out and be crazy,

(05:54):
and then you get something different and you're like this
is Sometimes you're like this is fine, but now I
still want this other meal. It's like you're not what
you didn't do. You got the caffeine, but you didn't
actually fulfill the craving you were having, and so you're
not satisfied until tomorrow. Until tomorrow when you get when

(06:15):
I can't get it, maybe they'll ask you, did you
like that drink? We gave you a straight and you
can be like, well, to be honest, I hated it
and they'll be like, well, give me this one for free.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Are bad?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah, maybe I'll give it a go. I have no
problem being like, Nope, that drink's not for me. Yeah,
I mean, I won't do it with the intention of
getting something free. I just give my honest feedback of like, yeah,
that's probably not for me, but hey, you know I
was adventurous and I tried it.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, go tiktoks. What's your feeling of the day, Well, hot,
I was going to say exhausted, because I just got
I have been traveling so much lately. I feel like
I went to a wedding, that I went our baby moon,
then I went to Arizona with you, and then I
just went on batchelort trip and batch ut trips are
different when you are pregnant. Very Now, this was the

(07:02):
bachelrette trip to go on if you were going to
go on a pregnant one, because it was very low key.
But I do have a question that doesn't come up
from this trip. Okay, in your days of bachelotte tripping,
do you guys do lingerie showers?

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:17):
I I guess it depends what the bride wants, because
I feel like, for you, you just wanted cozy pajamas.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Not.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
I wanted cute, so I wasn't just like a T
shirt and sweatpants. I did not want laingerie because I
knew I wasn't gonna wear it, but I wanted cute.
Yeah pajamas. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
At my bachelor party, it was encouraged to bring lingerie.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Okay, did you try the lingerie on everybody?

Speaker 1 (07:46):
No?

Speaker 2 (07:48):
No, why did she Have you ever been to a
bacherette party? Now they did that? No? No, okay, so
this was really interesting. I've this is the second time
I've been to a bacherette party where the bride has
been encouraged to try the lingerie on for everybody.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Really.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
The first one was my sister in laws and she
was like, no, one, she wasn't gonna do that because
it's not her personality. But also me and my sister
were there and I was like, no offense, but I
don't want to see you in the lingerie that you're
about to wear with my little baby brother. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
It's awkward enough when you think of who's in attendance,
because thinking back at my bachelorette party for that part
of it, now, my mom and my mother, a mother
in law to be ended up leaving. They weren't there
the whole night but for the gift opening, which they
did lingerie, they were there.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Oh yeah. My friend Jill set up Pin the Pin
the penis on beIN blew up. It was Ben.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
It was a life size photo of Ben and she
was blindfolding people spinning around and you had.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
To pin the which is funny, like pin the tail
and the donkey.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Butther is your mother in law, my mother in law,
so his mom was there and then my friend Jill
was like, you need any ice cubes, and like would
go up and.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Fill everybody's glasses up.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
And she had made these ice cubes in the shape
of the the donkey, tail in the tail and the donkey,
just in case kids are listening. But you know, she
and I'd be like, oh my god. She had big
ice cubes and small ice cubes. And she went up
to my mother in law she was like, ice cubes
in my mon I was like, oh sure, she's like
big or small and then she put on that cup and.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
It was just a night.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
We were in Austin. We didn't go out of town.
It was like a pen house. And so there was
the first part of the night with them, So I
can't imagine trying on the lingerie with my mom and
mother in law in attendance.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Yeah. So which I will say that the Donkey Tales
used to be really pop. Those have kind of people
don't really do that stuff as much. Yeah, this was
two thousand, but that was really popular back then. But
then this bash rep, there were kind of two groups
of friends. It was like her college friends and their
post college friends, and all of her college friends were like,

(10:07):
try it on, try it on, and then we were like,
we have it's okay if you don't, like if she
wanted to it would be if she wanted to do that,
I would be happy for her, but she's also not
that kind of person. It was just interesting that it
was so normal for them, and I think they all
did it at their batcherette parties. And I didn't even

(10:28):
want lingerie, so I for sure wouldn't be trying it
on in front of everybody. I just didn't know how
common that was, So no go for you, And you've
never seen.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
That, not that I can recall, So huh.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I'll keep you posted. Yeah, if I were gone or
if I get married again, which I was thinking about this.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
If I get married again, do I have a bachelorette party?

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yes? Again, do something. It doesn't have to be like
a trip, but yeah, a night or specif.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Okay, So like people would be like, this is your
second marriage, why why are you doing that? So do
you do you want me to do one and try on?

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
It's just saying okay, so it would.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
You would I try it on?

Speaker 2 (11:17):
No?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
No, no, no, no no. I don't want to do that.
That feels weird even with my friends. But I mean
I get it. It not weird in a bad way. If
somebody wanted to do that, if they want to get
that oh fun, Oh.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
You're so sexy. I'm okay. It could be like a
pump up O. Thank you feel really? I mean more,
this is awkward. I'm awkward. I think that's what it
is because people's personalities are different.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Okay, this is a voicemail from Sam just calling from
Boston here. It is he.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
I mean, kas, I'm listening to you this week's Couch
Talks when Kat was talking about how her friend thought
that a guy stood her up but he ended up dying.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Oring like that.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
So my mom and my stepdad they've been together for
twenty two years, now married thirteen years. And they met
on a blind date like the ODU blind date run
from a friend, didn't knowing each other.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Looked like they were emailing back and.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
Forth saying this is what I'm gonna be wearing, so
you can like figure out who I was when you
see me at the restaurant. So my stepdad, now stepdad,
came to the restaurant, met my mom and said, hey.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
I have to leave. My dad just died.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
And my mom had, you know, trust issues with men,
and she was convinced that he was lying, but truthy
told his dad actually did die.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
And he didn't want her to think that he was
good her up.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
So he went to the date to say he has
to leave the date, and again they've been happily married
thirteen years. And yeah, I thought it was a funny story.
Damn from Boston.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
I was twenty nine. I just turned thirty, but so
my twenties when I looks.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
We love when we get someone in their twenties that listens.
I don't know why we started tracking people listen to
their twenties. So we put a call out, like.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Because we didn't think anybody any gen Z ers were
listening to us. Turned out I love us, Sam, she
was listening now.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Sam referenced the story we talked about in a previous
episode about our friend that went on a date with somebody.
It was their second date. First date went well, so
that's why she was shocked when he didn't show up
for the second date and she literally thought he stood
her up.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
And she was very upset.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Come to find out, Yeah, he died, so yeah her, Yeah,
his absence was valid.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yeah, now this I think it's very cute that they
met on a blind like a true blind date. Do
you are a blind date with your.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
No, with my husband or any of your Oh well yeah,
I mean I guess it wasn't a blind date. Yeah,
because I googled him and knew a lot about him
and then knew Yeah, I knew too much. Like blind
dates are hard these days because of the Internet. The
last true blind date I went on, I was twenty
four maybe, and I went to a George Straight concert

(14:17):
with Yeah, because.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
You committed to like a four hour and event.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Well, George is my favorite. So my sister's in laws
they remodeled their bathroom and whatever tile guy they used,
which I was in tile sales at this time, so
what they thought we would be ab we love style,
perfect match. I guess they're like, he's single, Like we
just had he's been at our house like all week.

(14:41):
We've just had the best time getting to know him. Uh,
we've got tickets to George straight, like we're going to
give them to him, and he's gonna ask you, so
be prepared.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
He's gonna call you.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
And I was like, well, I really want to go
to George Strait So okay, fine, and at least we'll
have tile to talk about. And this is when I
was first introduced to Dirk Spintley too, because he was
new on the scene. This is probably two thousand and
five or so, and I don't really go to the

(15:13):
openers that often, but this guy wanted to go experience
the entire concert.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
So he picked me up.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Flying day we go Dirk Spintley's the opener. I'm like, oh,
I actually like this person. So that's when I was
first introduced to Dirks. And then of course we had
a good time at George and that was.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Our only date. Because you it just wasn't a match,
but you had a good time. You had a good
time because of George Straight. Yeah, or because of the
company of George Straight.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
And he was okay, he was fine. But I knew
we were not going to be together, so there was
no point in going on a second date. Like if
we had planned a second date and he didn't show up,
i'd been like.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Okay, but I felt that way about Yeah, you were
first day.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Your first date with your husband was sort of won't want.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
No no, no, no no. Our first would not describe it
that way. I will, Okay, I would excribe it. Our
first date was good. It was good because awkward. No, no,
that was not our first date. You are this revisionist history.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
But I know now that you're married.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
I don't want him to know. You don't want him
to know he knows this.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Our first date, it was three hours long. It was
a good We met at a bar. I also, we
kind of had a blind date because his dating profile
pictures were so bad. I had no idea what he
was gonna end up looking like. I had no idea.
He had a Halloween costume on in one picture. One
was a group photo like from far.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Away, a group photo on a dating profile.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, multiple photos. But what I liked about that was
that you could tell he did not care that much
about like what he was like looking like, and like
you see some dating profiles and the guys our weight
and I it's curated, yes, And I'm like, if they're
doing that for themselves, I'm gonna feel self conscious because
I don't care that much. So I he was down

(16:57):
to earth anyway. The date, I the date was good.
I wish I could go back and like look at
my text for me because the date was a good date.
What I loved and this is like the bar is low.
But he asked me so many questions, to the point
where I would try to ask him questions and he
would always turn it back to me, and I'm like, okay,
I'm talking about myself too much. But he was very inquisitive,

(17:20):
very like just into getting to know me. He was
very kind. He walked me to my car. He hadn't
got my phone number yet, so he asked me for
like it was a good date. But I left that
date being like I don't feel any like crazy chemistry
or spark, which is good. And so if he never
would have reached back out, I wouldn't have been devastated.

(17:44):
I wasn't like that was the best date of my life.
Now looking back, it was because it's like brought me
to where I am now. In that moment, it was
just an average date. I would says average fair.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
I shouldn't have spoken for you, yes, that you don't
have to share on here that I know about where
I wouldn't have thought this was who you were gonna marry.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Oh I told I've told Patrick this. I told my friends.
They said something about I was at a dinner one
night and I was talking about him, and my friend
Michelle was like, what if he ends up being your husband?
And I was like, he'll never be masked? Thank you.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Okay, See that helps put clarity to kind of what
I was saying.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
He by like fourth day, I would have that wasn't
how I was thinking.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
And now you just had to bite him every time
he walks in the door. You're like, yeah, I follow
some cute little cartoon account. They're like these fuzzy little animals.
Did I send it to you?

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Okay, good because I saw it and I thought of you,
and they act up. They're adults, but they're fuzzy little animals.
And this couple they're in a relationship and the girl
one goes over to the guy and it's demonstrating that
this is her showing love and she starts biting his
arm and I was like, this.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Is catah, you sent it to me. I sent to
Patrick and I think he said accurate. Yeah, And then
now he's getting those so he's sending them to me.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
So I think we got on this because she referenced
the uh, the guy that showed up that die and
then the dating, and then the mom has trust issues.
So the fact that her mom ended up giving this
guy a chance instead of thinking, oh, he's lying to me,
But like who would show up and say my dad
died as their.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Excuse, You just wouldn't go to Okay as the lie. Yeah,
like you would be would just email and my dad died.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
She's a different light, or like my car broke down,
flat tire, but like he showed up in person, yeah,
and so delivered the news character or what if he
showed up in person, saw her and there was like
my dad died, I have to go you know.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Well that's what at first I thought, but then after
revisiting it, I think he the dad had died previous,
maybe recent, but like right before the date, not on
the date. I know somebody this isn't This is a
friend of a friend who was on a first date
with a skydiver. They're on a first date. His job

(20:10):
of skydiving, so he has a lot of friends at skydive.
On the date, he gets a phone call his best
friend died. Died on the first date. Well, skydiving while skydiving,
isn't that scary? Yeah, they ended up dating because I
think that's this. I mean, I'm sure there's other reasons,
but that has to Like, imagine you're on a first

(20:33):
date with somebody and you're kind of supporting them through
getting that phone call.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Yeah, you're you're bonding over something. The trauma bond pretty quickly.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
The other that's meant for more intimate relationships, like yeah,
a family member, a best friend, a romantic partner.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Yeah, And that's one of the reasons that I will never, ever, ever,
ever skydive. I guess that story. I already wasn't going to,
but then I'm like, I don't know, this person is
in carrecks and you get in a car. Yeah, but
I need to get in a car. I don't need
a skydive. Yeah, you know like that to me is

(21:10):
if I know I can die from doing this. I
don't really think that that kind of thing is fun.
Why would I do it?

Speaker 1 (21:18):
If I did it once as like a bucket listing
for my thirtieth birthday?

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Did you want to do it again?

Speaker 1 (21:23):
No? I don't want to do it again. I don't
have a desire. It was cool to experience. Yay, check
that box. You know something we might be doing on
the Bobby Bonho is putting everybody's name on a wheel
and whoever Landson has to go bungee jumping, and I
do not want.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
To do that right, speaking of be careful where you
do it. I don't know that we've talked about this
because not too long ago this is a dark episode. Guys,
we're going to bring it back up, but not Yeaca's
coming up. I have the top twenty most common lies
we all say, watch out. Okay, not too long ago,
this is really sad. I forgot what country this is in.

(21:57):
But there was a young woman in her twenties and
she it wasn't bungee jumping, it was some other kind
of rope jumping, and they threw her off the ledge
and didn't attach the rope to her.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
No.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Turns out, I don't think these people had a license
to do what they were doing. But she was just
and her fiance was there, saw it. Other people saw it.
She didn't die immediately either, which is even worse.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
You can tell I've been listening to too many true
crime things because I'm like, her fiance was there.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Oh, You're like thinking he's part of it. No, I
don't think so.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Was he Like, Hey, I don't know what country they're in,
but he's like, if I slip you one hundred, will
you not hook her up?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Who doesn't hook her up? Well, that's the whole thing
about it. Where And I think there are people being like, duh,
well because they saw it last minute saw and there's
a video of it too that was going around the internet.
I can't believe you didn't see this.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
I probably did. But we talk about so many stories
that I probably have I forget it's gone. And sometimes
we'll even on the Bobby when should we do so
many stories like that?

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Sometimes I'm like.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Have we talked about this one before? Or there's just
another story? Because around the world we're talking about them.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Is it sad? Did you say? Is it sad. That's
why No, I said, that's sad that you talk about
so many crazy stories like that. There are so many that.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
I literally thought, you're right, is that sad? And I'm like, yeah,
cat is this.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Is what you would call a sad thing. This is
a sad. Appropriate feeling with this is sad. Shannon found
this person. It was she was twenty one. She plummeted
one hundred and thirty one feet to her death after
bungee jump staff allegedly forgot to attach the safety cord.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
Soe bungee jumping.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Well, I thought it wasn't, but maybe it was. Six
people have been arrested in connection with her.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
So for arrested for negligence.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Yes or yes. Oh. I didn't hear any like foul play.
I thought it was like a but also I didn't either.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
I'm just saying my true crime brain is thinking, yeah,
it's not impossible.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I when I was an adventure therapist at a treatment
center back in the day, we had to do courses.
Thank you. You just knew what I was thinking. And
I felt very in the moat while I was doing that.
I wasn't in charge of all that stuff. I got
trained in it. But like again ADHD cat an adventure.

(24:23):
Well also it's like outdoorsy, not me. It turns out
they gave me that job because this is crazy. They
were about to do layoffs and I was in a
contract position and there was an open adventure therapy position,
and they didn't want me to get laid off, so
they pretended like they just really wanted me in this position.
I interviewed for it, I got it, so then I
had a permanent position, so I didn't get laid off.

(24:44):
Very kind. I only was in that job for about
nine months and then they put me back and I
was the primary therapist anyway. They what I liked about
learning about all that stuff I don't like doing that
stuff is usually there's a safety for the safety. For
the safety, there's like so many chests, yeah that you
feel really good about it, and like there's books and

(25:06):
records of everything and you have to write everything down.
These people were not doing the safety for the safety,
there was.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
Nothing well, so Shannon just said that three men ages
twenty seven, thirty and forty two were arrested at the
scene and charged with homicide and implied malice. Brazil Civil
Police is investigating the incident. So it happened in June,
so it was about a month ago.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
So the story is developing implied malice. So you are
onto what's onto the scent? Is that what they say
on the scent?

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Don't they say that in the crime?

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Yeah, I'm sniffing something suspicious.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
I'm on the scent.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Yeah yeah, because like a dog, a dog would sniff
it out.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Anyway, any positive things happened to you recently that you
want to talk about?

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Why we can go into the lies?

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Okay, because because we love life.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
No, but I mean think of like if you're trying
to trying to get out of a date, you might
think you're doing this like innocent little lie. Which these
are the top twenty most common lies that we've all
could be guilty of. Like in it number one, I'm fine,
nothing's wrong. Now, this isn't a crazy lie. But you
might say that just to answer the question, even though

(26:22):
your life could be falling apart and you're not fine
and everything is wrong, So that technically is a lie. Yeah,
but you don't I think, oh that answer to everybody.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
But don't you think you say that when like somebody
thinks you're mad at them, and you're like, no, I'm fine,
nothing's wrong. Like they're a good.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Way to use it, and it's to be a lie,
which I know you're mad at me, so just go
ahead and tell me so we can get this over with, right.
Good good alternate use of that statement. Number two, I
was stuck in traffic. There is a little traffic. There's
always a little traffic.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
So many of my clients when they come light, they're like, oh, traffic,
I got stopped at every red light. But I believe them.
There's a lot of lights around my office.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Three, you look great in that insert whatever outfit they
have on, like right now, cats, pregnancy fants, cads, pregnancy
fants are uh, they're genes. And she said twice so
far today since we've been together. She goes, never, I'm
never wearing these pants again. I'm saying that because if
you ever see me in these pants, I can't believe

(27:24):
I'm wearing them. They're up to her boobs.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Oh they're not high enough, is the problem. They're pretty high.
I texted to you this morning and was like, Oh,
I'm gonna be in the same outfit for every podcast
until I give birth, because all it fits me is
like leggings and tank tops. But then you showed up
in genes. I know because I was like, Catherine, get
it together, and I did get these genes that are

(27:49):
They were really great in the beginning of pregnancy. They're
super stretchy and they're like leggings. There's they feel like leggings. However,
the problem that I have now discovered as a seven
plus month pregnant person is you either need to have
something that goes all the way to your boobs or
something that's underneath your bump, because in the middle it

(28:10):
doesn't feel good. Are they are above the I do
need to clarify.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
I forgot it's not the pants that are all the way.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Up, it's my underwear. So underwear is all the way
up to her boobs, and that is actually very comfortable
and like you, I feel like.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
After you get birth, you're gonna keep wearing lights your
your belly's gonna be gone, and you're gonna be wearing
that underwear up to your boobs.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Because she loves me. I love them. They just first
of all, they're soft, they're not too tight, they're not
too loose, and they just like kind of hold me together.
But then my pants are cutting me off. I get
up so well.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I do think you look cute in those dances, but
I do see how they're comfortable. But I don't think
your underwear is cute. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not
gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
I love them. I bought two packs of them. They're
the mom Cozy brand. If anybody needs a recommendation, they
will stretch with you throughout your pregnancy. So I can't
recommend enough. But you probably should not wear these as
your lingerie. Yeah, because they are and they're not like
cute colors. I think these are what those are black.

(29:24):
But you had definitely had a nude pair in Arizona.
I have a nude pairent and I have like a
peach nude parent.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
That was crazy.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
The We're online number four of the top twenty most
common lies.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
I only had one beer.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
If I had a dollar for every time I heard
that I only had one beer. Or the drinks, it'll
get tricky of like we're going.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
At the doctor's office and they ask how often you
drink once a week and how many drinks do you
have one?

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Or you're getting pulled over. Yeah I just had one
five my phone died. I if you're someone's been trying
to get ahold of you or.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
You could it's like but it rang.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Oh yeah, true, because if it rings more than once,
it's not dead. Right, yeah, I had no way to
contact you. Okay, maybe yes you did. I never got
the message. Oh yeah, okay, but mine, I really don't
think if I didn't see your text, like I really
must have missed it, because I do miss text.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
But what are you ever like, oh the text? I
never got that text, like literally, like it never came through.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
And then you show them what if? Oh yeah, yeah, okay,
I'll call you right back.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
I mean that you were perturbed with me today when
I had to call you back.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Oh so Kat is getting gas and she's like, you're
not allowed to talk on this cell phone when you're
getting gas. Which I've heard that or I see it
on the tanks. But is it true.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
I don't know. I just have heard that it's bad
for something. I meant just to hold the phone.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
Next to your the gas tank.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Why is that?

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Well, I assume because that's that's the bad part, is
the phone being near the gas. I think it's bad
for your brain. Did you say were you asking if
it's bad for the brain. I was thinking gas fees
plus plus.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Phone near your head. I don't know, nobody's ever explained it,
but they've told me.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
I mean, I get no smoking near the gas tank.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
But smoke at gas stations all the time though, but
like right by the yeah no.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Uh well, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
But cavs like I gotta call you back.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
I was like, okay, but I thought maybe you could
keep me on speaker or if you have bluetooth or something.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
But then I'm outside of my car with a door
open and people can hear you talking. Yeah. True, so
I but I did call you right back.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
You did, so thank you for being honest keeping your word.
It didn't cost that much, guilty, it didn't cost that
much depending on who you ask.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Is that like when your money's relative?

Speaker 4 (32:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:07):
But is that like when you buy a gift for
somebody and they're like, oh, this is way too much,
and you're like, oh, I got it on saying this
is a deal.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
It didn't cost so much. Yeah, you could do that,
or to your spouse like, oh it didn't cost that much.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Sure, right.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Have you seen those videos where they do a text
overlay and it's like let's say it's a pool or
a trip to Disney. They'll they'll show like a shot
and then they do a text overlay. They're like, this
ninety thousand dollars pool that costs one hundred and twenty
thousand dollars has been the best one hundred and fifty
thousand dollars I've ever spent.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
I was like, where are you going?

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Or they'll be like this five thousand dollars trip to
Disney that cost nine thousand dollars has been the best
fifteen thousand dollars You've ever serious because you think something's
going to be one about then you're like, oh no,
it's actually going to be this, when in reality.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
We ended up spending this. Yeah that's funny.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
So it is funny. Yeah, oh ye, people are funny.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Uh it was on sale? Why would you?

Speaker 4 (33:06):
That could be.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
Another one live or your husband or a gift. Like
if someone's like what, I can't believe you got this
and you're like, no, no, don't worry about it was on sale.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Uh oh this whole thing. I've had it for ages.
Wait isn't it you that does that? Or like it's
awkward if I feel like I'm one of those people.
I feel this is very common. When people give me
a compliment, I'm like, oh, thanks, it's five dollars. I
got it in the bargain bind.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Like did you really or you're just like, look, you're
downplaying it.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
I think I'm down this. I had it forever. You
got it last week. I think I do both because
if you were to compliment me today on my outfit, which.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Nobody's going I think you look cute, it's that it
doesn't match. It's what a black cardigan.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
With I would have put a different tank top with this. Okay,
So if you guys are judging my outfit out there,
I'm well aware if you were to compliment my this thing,
I would have been like, oh my gosh, I've had
it for like fifteen years because I have. But I
couldn't just say thank you. Sometimes it's hard for me.

(34:15):
See that's why we say the thank you passe. Yeah,
just say thank you.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
You don't have to. There's no in explaining it.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Okay, I'm on the way.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
I've done that. I'm just gonna say that you left, yeah,
and then yeah, I'm still in my room. But with
life three sixty and stuff like now, people can be
tracking you, but I don't.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Have you on Live.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
I know you don't, but wait wait wait like my kids,
but I have friend. But if I have Live, Grace
still can see his whole family.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Did you want to announce it? I'm like, oh, he
just left for lunch. If I have Live because I
don't have this if I if I have it, it's
not like Snapchat kind of stuff where like I could
just like see anybody who has it. You have to
accept me.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Yes, okay, yeah, yeah, you have to be on the
following that person and allow the people to see.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
I wish do find my friends and I can look
and see where and I'll call Patrick. He'll be at
work and I'll call. I won't call him, I'll text
him and I'll be like, have you left from work yet?
And like I know he hasn't. That's really me saying
like can you leave?

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Yeah, it's time to go chop chop, which again I don't.
This list is just the most common lies people tell.
It doesn't mean they're all like, I don't even know
why someone would say this one as.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
A lie, Uh you've lost weight? Why?

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Or oh oh maybe it's like, hey, I've lost five pounds.
Can you tell?

Speaker 2 (35:40):
And you're like, yeah, but you can't.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
I guess maybe that's why you would lie. Another lie
is thinks it's just what I've always wanted. I don't
know that I get that one does your brain?

Speaker 2 (35:53):
That's like if if you gave me a gift, I
lie and I'm like I love this, but really like
I hate it. That's what I least one. Have you
ever gotten a gift that Yeah, we've talked about this before.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
I well, you know, there was the painting that my
ex husband got me, but also our first year of marriage,
he got me this a watch. It was actually kind
of nice that I would never I was never gonna wear.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Did you ever wear it?

Speaker 5 (36:17):
Did you wear it?

Speaker 2 (36:17):
A couple of times?

Speaker 3 (36:18):
No?

Speaker 1 (36:18):
I ended up telling him, and it was like our
first Christmas together. I felt he needed to know.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
He did.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
We got something that I would wear. But you're getting
to know each other and it were because we got
married at the six month mark, engaged at the three
month marks, so we still needed to get to know
each other. And I guess rightfully, so that was probably
obnoxious of me, and he was getting to know the
fact that I was going to do that. Which I
did not do that throughout our entire marriage. I learned

(36:51):
to just like there were like, okay, oh, thank you
for this bracelet from Afghanistan.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
I like it. I just kept it and a jewelry
fus Like.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
I didn't say anything, and he goes, well, all yeah,
all the guys over there were buying their wives this
bracelets at the same reality. He's so, I figured I
should get you one, and I'm like, thank you. I
learned that's on me. That was my young brain.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Eye thought, I think that.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
But the watch, I knew he had spent a lot
of money on it, and I'm like, we need to
return this because I don't need this watch.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
Did you wait some time after you opened it or
you say it immediately?

Speaker 1 (37:29):
It wasn't. No, it wasn't and it was Christmas morning.
I waited, okay, But I was eventually honest because it
was weighing on me that, like he's expecting me to
wear this watch, probably because that's what you do with
a watch, you wear. The bracelet had a little more
like a bracelet you can wear with the right.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Outfit, or you can watch memento.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
It's kind of like a special souvenir from the war,
you know. But the watch, I just.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Like, what did you get instead a different watch?

Speaker 1 (38:04):
That was my style? And I don't know this fit.
It feels like wrong, but I'm glad I didn't lie
and say, oh, this is what I've always wanted to.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
But he's also then he's get.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Me another watch like that down the line.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Do you remember you probably don't the what Patrick got
me for our wedding gift.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Remind me.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
It was a necklace. I remember what it looked like. No, okay,
what okay, there's.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
No you look like you were because I want to remember, well,
it's normal, I could tell you.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember a lie. So he got
me this diamond necklace that was like a square and
then it had two There are squares, but you can't
really tell two squares on the corners of the top
where it looks like Mickey Mouse. To the point where

(38:58):
I opened this necklace and my niece, who was eight
at the time, said, why did he get you a
Mickey Mouse?

Speaker 4 (39:06):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Which first when I opened I was like, oh, it's pretty.
I mean, it is a nice necklace. But I was like,
maybe nobody else will think that, And then Addie said
it immediately. So I was like, okay, this is people
are gonna think that I'm a Disney adult, which like
no shade to Disney adults, but that's not me. And
so that's what I got. And eventually I'm a bad

(39:29):
liar and he's got me these two necklaces that I
wear every day. He picked them out on his own,
like I love them, and he was like, you never
wear the necklace I got. You don't like it, do you?
And I was like, well, it does look like Mickey Mouse.
So I can wear under something you know, just like
to have it on, but you don't want it to

(39:50):
be like the highlight of.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
Your out under a shirt that does you know me
to have like a like if you're like, I can
sleep it, thank you for the next I can't wait
to sleep in it, but or any from around the house,
I will wear it.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
But I didn't want to return it or exchange it
because it's a memory for me. It's like, this is
what you got for my wedding, and your daughter will
be able to wear it where you take her. Toney,
Yeah it's hers, but I think that was what Yeah.
I was also honest with him, and he did. He
was like I knew I should have gotten you the

(40:29):
solitaire one, but I just thought, maybe, like you like
things sometimes that are a little different, So I wanted
to get something like a little different, and I was
like when it's jewelry simple, But I kept it for
the memory. So you know I say that, Well, no
Christmas present is different than your wedding gift. Yes, yes,

(40:50):
I would never return a wedding gift. But Patrick, if
you're listening, I know you're not. I love the gift.
It's a great story and our daughter's gonna love it
when we take.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
Her to this.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
Thank you for reframing that. You're welcome another light. You
haven't changed a bit. Is that like how somebody looks
if you haven't seen him from since I school. It's
like you look just the same.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
No, I didn't touch it, wasn't me.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
I have no idea where it is.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
I'll try to make it even though you have no
intention of going.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
I have a headache.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
And then the final and twenty most common lie told
I would never lie to you.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Oh, nobody can really say that.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
I would never lie to you.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
What do you mean? I think everybody has.

Speaker 5 (41:47):
Lied?

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Like you can't say that Oh, but people do see people.

Speaker 1 (41:51):
I would never lie to you, especially when they're trying
to get out of a lie, right, they'd be like,
that's like manipulation, master gaslighting. Would I would never like it.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
I believe you would think I would ever lie to you.

Speaker 1 (42:03):
Are you lying to me?

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (42:05):
You know this probably means you're lying to me because
I read about projections how they would spin it on you. Yeah,
maybe you're the one that had two.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
Beers and that's why you're acting like this. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
Uh so there you Shannon looked up the actual reason
you should not be on your phone while pumping gas.
So there is a legit reason, and it is static electricity,
which you would know are scared of if you listen
to last week's feeling things. You know, Kat thought she
got electrocuted when we had a little static electricity. She thought,

(42:40):
she's she I can't even I'm gonna say this. She
thought it killed her baby. She thought it stopped her
baby's heartbeat because my hand touched her hand and it
shocked her.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
It was it wasn't even we didn't even touch.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
It was through through the phone, well, the phone and
static electricity and getting gas. Okay, re entering your vehicle
while pumping gas can build up static charge on your clothes.
Touching the gas pomp nozzle after building this charge can
cause a real spark and then sparks around gas is.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
Not good, but I really will never be doing it.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
Gas is not even going to take her phone to
the gas.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
I'm going to get gas. The phone's at the house.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
You're leaving it.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
So wait, you build up static electricity when you're using
your phone.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
It says when you re enter your vehicle. I guess
between sitting down and the phone. I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
Okay, Okay, Well I'm glad I didn't do that because
I might not be able to I might not have
been able to record after have another incident.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
We got a voicemail from Brittany about toxic traits, so
another another positive thing to close with. Yeah, okay, here
it is, ladies.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
My name's Brittany. I was just calling. I just listened
to your most recent podcast about toxic traits from people
that you've set boundaries with, and I thought I would
call in to let you know of something that happened
this week with me. My mom and I have not
been talking for probably two and a half three years

(44:22):
after my dad died, it got really rough. I'm forty,
just to give you a time going on that, but
he uh passed away enough after that happened, it just
didn't go well. So I had to set some boundaries
with her and found out this week via Facebook through
my cousin that my uncle passed away three weeks ago,

(44:43):
and then my granddad passed away three days ago. And
I'm not on social media very much, so I didn't
see it until this weekend. And my mom didn't bother
to tell me for three weeks that a relative of
mine had died, and then that my granddad died right
after that, both her her side of the family. So
I spoke with my therapist. She basically said everything you

(45:05):
guys are talking about on the podcast, that once you
have a boundary, they're going to try and test it
and push it to see if it's still there, especially
with a huge life change. So this is a prime
example of her trying to get back in under my skin.
She sent an email to me yesterday explaining why she

(45:26):
didn't spend anything because she didn't want to tell me
about the deaths until the funeral arrangements were made. Which
is bizarret and doesn't make any logical sense for a
logical thinking human being. So I wanted to reply back
very angrily. Obviously I would upset, but after talking through
it with my therapist, I understood that she wouldn't even

(45:48):
understand what I was saying. So we just sent a
very short thank you and I'll be praying for you email,
and that was it to let her know that she
can't control me anymore. I'm not going to let it
bother me. I'll grieve with this through my own way
that doesn't include her right now, to anybody else going
through that, just you can stay strong with your boundary.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
You have talk with a therapist.

Speaker 3 (46:11):
You feel like you're gonna go off on somebody that
you know probably doesn't even deserve your time to cause
you to be upset, and that helped me so much.
And then listening to y'all the podcasts also was just
very helpful knowing that we agreed.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
With the same things.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
So anyway, short and sweet, hope we didn't take too
much of your time, But luddy dive would day thye thanks.

Speaker 1 (46:31):
For that, Brittany, I know that that will be helpful
for somebody else. Listening as well. And I'm glad that
our talk on the recent episode about that stuff helped
you hold your ground. And you know, that type of
simple response what I would drive someone else crazy.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Yeah, I was wondering if she was saying I'm praying
for you as like a passive aggressive dig or like
I'm praying for you because your dad dies.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
I think hearing her voice and her intent and how
thoughtful she's about it.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
I think she really meant it. I don't think it
was passive aggressive because and because she came up with
that with her therapist.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Right, someone might receive it as that and if they're
thinking that, that's your heart. But I feel like based
on what she was saying, like genuinely she's concerned about
the well being of her family going through this difficult time,
and like that includes her mom, so I'll be I'll
be praying for you. But that is that's not the
type of engagement that her mom.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
Was, and her mom knew it, knew what she was
doing by not. So Yeah, glad that you have a
therapist you can talk about this stuff.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
And good for you for holding your boundary because it's
definitely not easy to do. And now you are not
in a back and forth.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
You sent a reply.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
You've got peace of mind with that, and you can
move on with your life. Otherwise, if you had sent
the response you had in the moment, which she even
admitted to having, you would no doubt end up in
a back and forth exchange, and then resetting the boundary
would be ten times as hard because you got to
do it again.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
I think her saying that, I think she was saying
arapist said like, your mom's not even going to understand
what you're saying, so it's not worth it. It's so
as long as I can write this out and say
this for me because it's what I would want to say,
but I wouldn't get what I needed out of this,
so there's really no point.

Speaker 1 (48:20):
An exercise I did once to get a bunch of
stuff out that I wanted to say to someone, but
I wasn't going to send because I was trying to
hold a boundary, and so I was sending things that
were very just my side of the street to the point.
But I had a lot where I didn't want to
stay on my side of the street and I wanted
to say this or that, and I wrote it all
down and then I had a fire going and I.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
Burned it my fireplace. I feel good and it was.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
It represented me getting it out there and then just
watching it burn up was helpful. So it's a little
activity if you've got a fireplace. If you don't, then
don't just like build a fire.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
You could. I've burned stuff in my sink before.

Speaker 1 (49:01):
Oh okay, all right, really like old pictures, okay, okay,
and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
Like as long as you have like a sink that
can mine was like a stainless steel sink, it wouldn't
like ruin it, right, and I would just light it
on fire and then like let it burn in the sink.
But you could also do that in your backyard in
a safe place.

Speaker 1 (49:20):
You know what I keep under my kitchen sink. I
have these fire blankets that I ordered on Amazon, so
instead of fire extinguisher there, these they're folded up real tight,
and I keep them under my kitchen sink. So if
there was a fire on my stove, you like open
them and then throw the blanket on top of it
and it puts the fire out.

Speaker 2 (49:40):
I have those two, but I don't know where they are,
so they're not helpful.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
Well, before that baby comes. I got to get what's
crazy is you don't have someone showing up at your
house to make sure that you're an equipped parent that's
got all the systems in play. Because being an adoptive mom,
you have a home study and you have a stranger
coming into your house and evaluating if your home is
equipped enough to have a baby.

Speaker 2 (49:59):
I wish i'd because they could be like, you need
to do this and this and this, and I would
feel better about that. You probably really would like that.
Oh my gosh, thank you for coming.

Speaker 1 (50:07):
I feel so much better. Okay, well, Brittany, thank you
so much for the voicemail. We know for a fact
someone else needed to hear your story and it will
be an encouragement to them, so thank you for sharing that,
and to everyone else.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
We hope you have the day you need to have. Bye. Bye,
