Speaker 1 (00:00):
Check check, check check. Oh boy, here we go, guys.
Ray is on the road. He wants me to call him.
He wants me to call him. Am I gonna call him?
I don't know. I don't know. We're gonna do it live.
We're gonna do it live. I mean, I don't even
know where to start, but we're gonna start with by

(00:22):
doing it live. We are the one, two, three sore losers?
What up, everybody? I am lunchbox. I know the most
about sports, So I'll give you the sports facts, my
sports opinions, because I'm pretty much a sports genius. And
that's where it ends. That's where it ends right there.

(00:44):
I don't know. My state of mind right now is
still absolutely crushed, absolutely depressed. I don't know what I witnessed.
I sat there and stunned, like what just happened on

(01:06):
Wednesday night? It was And I'm gonna take you. I'm
gonna take you through the whole arch of the night.
I'm gonna take you through everything afterwards. I'm gonna I
don't have sound effects because I don't know how to
log in. I can't say shout out to the truckers. Uh.

(01:30):
I can't play any music it's just gonna be me
and I'm gonna Ray. Ray is gonna be on the road.
You can listen to the Big Show find out why,
and I could call him and we could sit here
and talk for an hour while he's on the phone.
But I just need to be by myself for a

(01:51):
little bit. I need to be with my thoughts, my emotions.
I haven't done social media. I haven't checked it out
since what night was that Wednesday night? Posted a couple
reaction things on the Sore Losers Facebook, But besides that,

(02:12):
I had to get away yesterday. I didn't look I
didn't watch anything on TV besides the World Cup. I
didn't go to any websites. I didn't want to see
any posts or news stories about the biggest collapse in
NBA Finals history, my San Antonio Spurs. It started. Let's

(02:37):
just get to the beginning. I set it to record.
I set the game to record because the boys were like, hey, Dad,
let's go to the pool. And I said, you know what,
it's a great day to go to the pool. And
they're like, let's shut it down tonight, Dad, let's shut
it down. And I said, you know what, we'll shut
it down because That's how confident I was going in

(03:00):
Game four. Going into Game four of the NBA Finals,
I thought the Spurs had the recipe. They knew exactly
how to play, They had it wrapped up. After watching
Game three and Game two, I felt like this was
our NBA Finals to win. We were gonna win Game four,

(03:24):
go back to Sanatude. We were about to win four
games in a row. That's exactly what we were going
to do. I knew it in my heart of hearts.
I was telling all the friends, all the text groups, Hey,
we got this, guys, we got this. We're winning. We're
winning four games in a row. I just was that confident,

(03:47):
and I knew every game had been close, and I said, man,
there's something boiling, something bubbling underneath the surface. The way
the Spurs are talking their interviews, they are so confident
we might finally get our first blowout of the freaking
NBA Finals. So we go to the pool and we're

(04:08):
swimming for like two hours, swimming like fish, swimming like fish.
And we brought dinner to the pool. The wife is there,
a couple of neighbors are there. I mean, it's just
a day at the pool, man, it is fantastic, great weather,
no threat of rain. Kids are jumping off the diving board,

(04:29):
they're swimming. The four year old baby Box three been
doing swim team. He's swimming halfway across the pool to me,
jumping off the side. Swim, swim, swim, I mean, just
does it for like an hour straight, just showing me
how he can swim. Then we eat some dinner and
it's like six fifteen and I'm like, man, you know what,

(04:50):
I got the game recording. I don't have to worry
about anything. I'm about to turn my phone off when
it hits seven o'clock because I don't want anybody texting
me about what's going on. And about six thirty, six
forty maybe Baby Box three comes and he sits in
one of the pool chairs and he goes, Dad, Dad,

(05:13):
it's so loud here. I can't sleep, which means dude
is ready for bed. That means three and a half
hours of swimming has worn the four year old out.
He can't take it anymore. And I look at him
and I say, man, it's only six forty. That means
I could get home for the start of the game

(05:35):
if he wants to go home right now. So I
looked him in his eyes and I said, hey, Bud,
are you tired? Do you want to go home and
go to bed? He goes, I don't want to go
to bed. I just want to take a rest. Said, hey, Bud,
let's go. So we left. We left the wife and

(05:55):
the other two boys. We left him at the pool.
They said, oh, well, right home with the neighbor. No problem.
Neighbor lives right down the street. They were all playing
on shutting it down. We can just hop in their car.
So we rolled to the house. We get there and
he's like, hey, Dad, can I just take a rest
on the couch. I was like, no, but no, you

(06:17):
can't rest on the couch. Let's just rest in your bed.
He goes, Will you sleep with me? Ho? No, no, no,
I'm not going to sleep with you. We got the
Spurs game here in like thirty minutes. I'm not sleeping
with you. Sorry. Yeah, yeah, I'll come in here once
I get done cleaning up. Don't worry about I'll come
and sleep in here with you. I just I got
to clean up. You know how mom and dad had

(06:38):
to clean up after you guys go to bed. I
gotta do that. And then I'll be in here to
sleep with you. And so we get the dry clothes
on and he's like, I gotta go poop poo. Okay,
let's go poopoo. Here we go and we go poopoo

(06:59):
and until like a twenty five minute poop poo because
he likes to just sit there. Hey man, you done
poop and yet? No, okay, you let me know when
you're done. And then he takes me through the entire
swim practice that they had at Swim Team. Dad. First
we did freestyle with kickboard, then we swam back freestyle

(07:21):
with kickboard, then we jumped off the side, and practice
are diving with the kickboard. I don't know how you
die with a kickboard, but whatever. And he just went
step by step by step and told me everything they
did at swim practice. Great, hey man, you've done poop
and yet. Actually I am done pooping. Dad out okay,

(07:43):
because the time is now seven fourteen. I'm like, wait,
we got to get moving here if I'm going to
be in position with the Spurs shirt on the same
shorts that I've been wearing. They're black, got gray and
silver and white on the side. I got him as
a groomsman gift in Oscar and Brandy's wedding. Their daughter

(08:04):
just graduated high school. Congraduations to to Veda out of
Corpus CHRISTI, Texas. Very proud of you. She's heading up
to Simmons University in Boston to play soccer. Couldn't be
more proud. That's a sidetrack. But they've been married for
like eighteen years. I still got the same dang shorts
and I still wear them quality groomsmen gift because the
shorts still work. Anyway, back to the story. So we

(08:28):
wipe the butt, wash hands, and we get him in
bed and he is out done, passed out. And I
get down there and I'm like, man, I still got
time to go a little poo pooh. It's only seven fifteen.
So I go into the bathroom and I do my business,
and I'm like, all right, I about to, you know,

(08:50):
watch their coorded version because I have to be a
few minutes behind. And when I sit down in front
of the TV, it's only seven twenty nine. I am
there for opening tip. I am ready to watch my
San Antonio Spurs win Game four. Go Spurs, Go, Go
Spurs go. And I sit down and I mean, do

(09:14):
they absolutely come out on freaking fire, on freaking fire.
I mean, they are just blitzing the New York Knicks
like they do every first quarter. Every first quarter. They've
been whooping that ass belt to ass is what they

(09:40):
have been doing. And I was like, oh my gosh,
we are so freaking good. And I was worried after
all the complaining in the media. You know what I thought.
I thought, Oh my gosh, they're gonna be up Wimby's
ass and they're gonna call fouls on Wimby. And they
tried to call a foul on Wimby and we said challenge, Challenge,

(10:04):
challenge because it was an obvious foul. Towns pins his
arm underneath it and he can't get it out of there,
like Towns wanted him to tickle his armpit. Man. We
ain't into that tickle stuff. Dad in San Antonio. Whatever
you guys do in New York, that's what you guys do.
We don't tickle armpits, man. We ain't like that. We're
about playing ball. So Towns has two early fouls and

(10:25):
it is just, oh my gosh, it is like a
snow ball. We are dominating. Kids. Get home at the
start of the second quarter the other two and they
sit down and watch a little bit, and they are
watching the Spurs take the belt two ass of the

(10:47):
New York Knicks, and I mean my seven year old
baby Box one looks at me and goes, Dad, we
cook it, we cook it. I said, Oh, yes we are, Oh,
yes we are. And this is and I'm on cloud
nine when I'm on the highest of highs, and in
my head, I am going, we are about to win

(11:09):
the NBA Championship. We are going to win the NBA title. Yes,
I understand. There was just gonna be game two to two.
It was gonna be tied up after four games. But
the way we were playing, we had solved the puzzle.
We had all the answers to the test. How did
we get the answer key by watching tape. We had

(11:32):
figured it out. We were in the lab and we
had it. They weren't gonna They couldn't stop us. And
I told it out loud, even to my wife. I
was like, we are going to win an NBA title.
Holy crap, this is the year we win an NBA title.
I am feeling. So that is how confident I was

(11:53):
in the middle of that second quarter because it was
so freaking unbelievable, unbelievable, how well we were moving the ball. Defense,
Knicks could do nothing, sharing the rock, draining every shot.
They made a little run at the end of the half.
I don't know what it was, twenty five and a half,
twenty four, I don't know, and I was like, wow,

(12:17):
we are All we have to do is make a
couple of shots in the second half. It's over. Go
to the rim. We don't need to be selling for threes.
I mean, it was unbelievable and everybody, I don't know,
I never saw this in the media. Maybe maybe they've
been talking about it because I haven't been looking. But
do you remember when, oh my god, it was so
unfair the Spurs shot seventy freight throws. The Spurs love,

(12:42):
the referees love the Spurs. They want the Spurs to
win the NBA title. You remember all that talk, Mike Brown,
get up there in the microphone. I've never seen in
the NBA finals where one team shoots so many freight
throws and the other does it. Well, where were that talk? Well,
I haven't heard any of that talk. Let me see

(13:03):
how many free throws that they had they they they
they had in the first half. Oh yeh, let me see,
the Knicks had twenty three and the Spurs had four.
The Knicks had twenty three, the Spurs shot four. So

(13:24):
I didn't see Mike Brown press conference up there telling
oh my god, the Knicks that we we got so
many free throws. That's not fair. They should give more
to Spurs. Didn't see that, but it didn't matter, because
you know why, We're about to win an NBA title.
I am going crazy in the house, clapping, fist pumping,

(13:46):
feeling great about my life. And then something happened. And
then something freaking happened. Oh my gosh. It was called
the second half, and we're gonna talk all about the
second half. We're gonna talk about it right after this.

(14:15):
The second half comes out, and here come the Knicks,
and what do we do. We start being absolutely stupid.
I mean, Barkley said it at the end of the game,
the dumbest basketball team in the history of civilization. You

(14:37):
understand that it is going to take a miracle for
the Knicks to come back. All you have to do
is dry. You can almost take a shot clock violation
every single time down the court, and win the game.
It's probably not accurate. I'm just being facetious, like funny, haha.

(15:02):
But we come down and we're jacking up three pointers, three, four,
five seconds into the shot clock, Like, what the hell
are you doing? Run some clock, dribble, pass side to side,
someone that is seven foot tall, Wimbin Yama get in

(15:29):
the post. But no, we decide that we shot eighty
percent from three in the first half. That man, you
know what, halftime's not gonna cool us off. We're just
gonna keep jacking freaking threes. And we didn't shoot one
in a row. We didn't shoot two in a row.

(15:49):
We didn't shoot three in a row. We didn't shoot
four in a row. We didn't shoot five in a row.
We didn't shoot six in a row. We didn't shoot
seven in a row. We shot eight straight three pointers
when we were up twenty five points. Our first eight

(16:10):
possessions were three point shots. And I'm not talking the
wide open ones that we had in the first half.
I'm talking people in our face, women and Yama step
back threes, Oh, get the rebound, buire up another three?
What the hell are we doing? I was frustrated at

(16:34):
that point. I was annoyed at that point. I started
getting a little nervous at that point. But at the
same time, I'm like, listen, you know why you build
a big lead so you can cause you're gonna get
complacent when you get a big lead. It's no matter what,
You're gonna get complacent. You're not gonna you can't play
with the same energy when you're up twenty five because

(16:55):
you're just like in your head, it's human nature. You
think we've got this thing one. We are about to
win this game. There is no chance they're gonna come back.
And the Knicks figured something out. They started setting screens
in the back court. That way Jalen Brunson didn't have

(17:17):
it relieved the pressure they put Alverado in the game.
So if Brunton was getting harassed up the court, Alverado
is bringing the ball up. But it doesn't matter. It
doesn't matter that they did that because they still shouldn't
be able to come back from twenty five points down
twenty nine at one time. But at this point, it's

(17:39):
twenty five and they start making a run and we
can't hit. Ray just texted me, are you gonna call me?
I don't have time for you right now, sir. They
start making a run and I'm like, it's okay, it's okay. Hey,
bad third quarter, bad third quarter. All the boys are

(18:00):
freaking out, Oh my god, we suck again. What are
we doing? And I'm like, hey, guys, you know what,
we have a big lead, so we can have a
bad quarter. We're still up fifteen going to the fourth.
I mean, what could possibly go wrong, what could possibly
go wrong? Oh my god? And then it went wrong.

(18:28):
And then it went wrong. Everything that had to go
wrong went wrong. Our coach Dearon Fox throwing the ball
away multiple times. Everything that could go wrong went wrong.

(18:50):
And then with about seven minutes to go in the game,
I started to freak out. I started to say, oh
my god, we might lose the game. We might be
in trouble. And they started showing you know, the crowd
and all these celebrities, and oh my god, they started

(19:13):
talking about the biggest comebacks in playoff history. Then I said, Eh,
we ain't gotta worry about that. We ain't losing this
damn game. And I don't know what happened. I mean,
I just don't know. Stephen Castle dribbles it on the
baseline he never stepped out of bounds. They called him
out of bounds. Why did we not challenge? I don't know.

(19:36):
Why did we not challenge? I have no freaking idea.
Why did we stop going to the hoop? Why did
we not get in the paint? Why did we not
do anything? I don't know. Wimbin Yama, he goes to
the line late in the fourth quarter with two free
throws and he misses both of them. No one's gonna

(19:59):
talk about that because they're gonna talk about a different play.
But all this led up to the loss, and then
the Knicks just started hitting every single shot they took.
Every single shot was going in. It would rattle around,
go in and out and then back in every shot

(20:22):
they were making, and we made bonehead. We were stupid on
our end. Stephen Castle had two fouls and we're up
twenty eight points in the first half. He doesn't need
to be in the game. Wait till the second half.
He picks up his third foul at the end of
the first half. Stupid, stupid, because then he can't guard Brunson,

(20:46):
and then Brunson starts getting going and he starts draining.
Og Nanobi is the MVP of the NBA Finals if
the Knicks win, and I am like, what are we
gonna do? What? It's okay, we just got to make
one basket, and we shoot more threes and more threes

(21:10):
and more threes. Dylan Harper, get the ball in your
hands and go to the rim and dunk on someone
in flex That's what I needed to see, and it
wasn't happening, and it wasn't happening. And all of a sudden,
they're down four, then they're down two, then they're down one,
and then they're leading, and then we're leading, and then

(21:32):
we're tied, and I don't know, And then it was
pissing me off. They were showing all these damn celebrities
jumping around, all of them like Taylor Swift. Since when
is Taylor fucking Swift a New York Knicks fan? Win
tell me when I'll sit here and wait and she's

(21:53):
jumping around like she's the biggest Knicks fan in the
whole entire world. Get the hell out of here with
that crap. You want to know why, because I saw
you like two weeks ago sitting courtside at the Knicks
Calves game, and guess what you didn't have on. You
didn't have no damn Nick's shirt on. Stupid. Now they're
in the finals. Oh my god, I love the next

(22:14):
Shut the show me. Jerry Seinfeld Seinbelt is canceled, never
watching any again. Larry David not watching Curb your Enthusiasm either, canceled.
I need some water, hold on? Oh oh fat Joe,

(22:35):
Oh look at me? Stupid Timoy Charlamagne dude, never watching
your movies, jumping around. Tracy Morgan, you're kind of funny,
and you've been a Knicks fan. Uh, Spike Lee, you've
been there for a long time. Uh So I can't

(22:58):
get mad at that. And then they're showing me that
a stupid law and order suv lady. Don't care about her.
Don't show me her. She's walking on the court high five,
and let me just get out of here. And then
and then we just need one stop. And I will

(23:20):
be honest. I was up in front of the TV,
probably from the five minute mark on was I was up,
just like, come on, trying to will them to a victory.
And I was loud. I didn't give it. I didn't
give two shits about waking the kids up. If they
woke up they woke up, didn't care. This was too

(23:43):
important to care. It was too important to like just
sit on your ass and watch it. I couldn't do that.
I had to be in it. I had to be
up there in the front of the screen. And I
just yeah, and I did it. So I was cool.

(24:05):
I was loud. And then we take the lead and
I'm like, we just need one stop. We need one
freaking stop. That's all we need. After even though when
we missed the two free throws, we missed eight thousand
and three pointers in the second half, I get it,

(24:26):
but we just needed one stop, and we get the
stop we need. I don't remember if it was a
mishot whatever, it's tipped out. It goes all the way
in the front court, Knick's back court. And the fastest
guy on the court, we have him on our team.

(24:49):
He is none other than de Aaron Fox. And the
emotions that swelled up in me when I see it
was a one on one foot with Dearon Fox and
og Ananobi, I'm like, oh my god, we did it.
We held on and de Aaron Fox and his cat

(25:11):
like speed gets to that ball and I was like, yes,
what the fuck are you doing. He got the ball
and he had it straight for the hoop. My five
year old basketball team knows better than that. You don't
head straight for the hoop when there's seconds remaining in

(25:33):
a game. In a soccer game, you dribble the ball
to the corner. You don't need to shoot it. In basketball.
You are the fastest dude on the court. You got
the ball. There's fourteen thirteen twelve. He's going to the rim.
What the fuck is he doing? And he misses it

(25:55):
and he misses it, and you know later the pictures
will show that ogn Nobi hit his arm. But we'll
talk about Oh, the refs love San Antonio. They want
the small market Spurs to win. I mean, do you
understand how stupid that sounds when you say that the
San Antonio Spurs is a small market. If anything, the

(26:16):
NBA would want the Knicks to win the win the series.
They want the big New York that's better for them
than small market San Antonio. Stop with this. The refs
love the Spurs because og Anobi fouled the hell out
of them. They didn't call it, and I and I

(26:40):
and I'm pissed. And this is when I'm just like
what the are we doing? Like? What are we doing?
And then can we talk about how is it legal
for Spike Lee to stand up and argue with the
refs in the middle of the game, Like what, like,
how how can you do that? It makes no sense

(27:04):
Anyway back to the game. Nicks call it time out
and I'm like, all right, we just need one stop,
one stop. And I am pacing, pacing back and forth.
I started on the left side of the TV. I
go to the right right side, back to the left,
left side, back to the right, and I all during
the timeout, there's no sitting down, there's no nothing. I've

(27:27):
got my hands up. I'm like, come on, boys, we
just need one stop. We're still up one point. We
are up one freaking point. As bad as we have
played in the second half, this is why you build
a big lead for this moment. Right here. They come

(27:50):
out of the timeout. They throw it into Brunson and
he fires a desperation three from way out, way out.
Wimby and I don't even know who's there Fox. They
both close out on him. It's off the front of

(28:12):
the rim, and I am like, no, because here comes
a super human freak athlete. And if they win the
NBA title. The MVP of the Finals og Nanobi. He
comes flying like Michael Jordan in the dunk contest from

(28:35):
the free throw line and his hand is up there,
up there, and he passes Dylan Harper who's on his right,
and palms it and pushes it up bounce and then
one point something seconds to go. And you want to

(28:57):
know what I said in my house at that time,
I said, fuck, That's what I said. But I still
had hope, man, I still had hope that we were
about to win this game. I still had hope we

(29:18):
were gonna draw up a play and we are gonna
win the game. And I mean, I'm just like I
was nauseous at this point in my stomach. I felt terrible,
But you can't give up hope. And like, when we're
up for I got people texting me if it it's done,

(29:39):
I give up. The Spurs suck, And I'm like, you
guys give up so easily, Like good god, we're winning
the game, and you're like, oh, we suck. Wimby ship
his ass out, like you sound stupid. You sound absolutely
stupid talking like that, and we draw up it in
bounds play and everybody's expecting you to go to Wimby,

(30:01):
because I mean, and we don't go to Wimby. We
try to throw it into castle, he fumbles it. He
fumbles it, my god, and I get it. He's trying
to catch it and throw it up in one motion
and he just he didn't get it. And then I
want to know how it's legal. If you go back,

(30:24):
you look on the internet. Someone sent it to me.
There are two fans that Carlo Anthony Towns instructs to
stand closer to Dylan Harper so they are within six
inches of him as he's trying to throw in the ball.
I am sorry but that the referee has to tell
them to sit their ass down, Like how can they

(30:45):
sit there and stand when he is trying to inbounds
the ball. But that's not why we lost, but it's
still just like, how is that legal? Help me out here?
And the buzzer sounds and the biggest comeback in NBA
history is complete. And I'll tell you what I did next.

(31:07):
Right after this, I sank down on the couch and
I just stared blankly at that TV. And I'm telling you, guys,
I didn't even play the game. And the feeling in

(31:28):
my stomach. I was so nauseous, so like, I mean,
I don't even understand why. I mean, this is the
weirdest thing. Sports do the weirdest things to your emotional like, vernacular, whatever, makeup,
whatever you want to call it. Sports do the weirdest
damn thing. They make you feel things that you shouldn't feel.

(31:56):
The joy, the heartbreak, the stress, the excitement, the ying
and the yang, the roller coaster of emotions. But the
feeling in my stomach was one of sickness, Like I
literally felt like nauseous. And I sat there and I

(32:19):
called Batter's Box. Hey what everybody, It's Batter's Box with
a very special happy birthday. Don't have the clips, guys.
And he was like, what happened? He wasn't watching. He
watched the last six minutes. His son had a baseball game,
so he just saw the first half. His phone died

(32:40):
and I explained it to him. Then I'm texting back
and forth with some people. Then I just put the
phone down because I was so sad. And then all
these dumb ass people jumping up and down on the court,
all these celebrities, SUV Lady SVU, whatever the hell, she's
called high five in the players shut up, Taylor Swift

(33:04):
jumping up and now with their matching shirts with whoever
the hell she was with Jenner looking smoking hot as always,
getting fondled by Shamlay. Oh my god, the whole crowd
sing in New York, New York, go eat a piece

(33:27):
of shit, but I wanted to. It's like after the
championship game in football, or you know, college football or
college basketball, when the other team just sits there and
you know, or you're eliminated from the baseball playoffs, you
sit there and watch the other team celebrate because you're
just like damn. And I did that. I just sat

(33:49):
there in the emotions and in the moment. And I
did it for an hour, not ten minutes, not fifteen minutes.
I should probably go to bed now. I stayed up
till eleven four. Just soak it in it, soak it
in the the the pure devastation, the emotional terribleness. I mean,

(34:16):
we lost the I mean we're not We're still gonna
win the NBA title, but it was gonna be a
lot easier when we won that game. Now we have
no room for mistakes. And I watched Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith,
shaq Ernie and Draymond Green all talk about it. Oh,

(34:38):
I watched it, and then I watched Jalen Brunson and
his going bald ass come out there. I mean, you
can tell he's going bald, but he still got you know.
I mean it looks like the hair is really thin
on top, and he's like, Oh, we just believed. We
always we always believed we could come back. We knew
we were gonna come back. Now you know you didn't. No,

(34:58):
you didn't. You were just like you were hoping a prayer,
but you did. You didn't give up. You didn't get
down the nixt. The one thing they don't do is
they don't give up. They keep fighting. And I was
just like, man, this is a terrible feeling. And I
didn't even play the game, so I don't know how
the game the guys feel. Professional athletes have a way

(35:20):
of moving on very quickly. Not me. I couldn't move on.
I went checked them kids, Yep, blankets still on, told
them goodnight, and I said, don't worry, guys. Spurs lost.
Spurs lost. They didn't hear me. They were asleep, but
they always asked me to tell them if they win
or lose. Then I go upstairs and brush my teeth.

(35:48):
I get in bed, and I kind of woke my
wife up on accident, and I was like, spurs lost.
She goes, no way, yeah, she goes. I'm sorry, babe,
that's all right. We fucking suck. And then I just
laid there for like thirty minutes. I couldn't fall asleep.

(36:11):
It's terrible, terrible feeling, like who need like who needs sports?
Like sports? This is like, I'm glad my kids went
to bed because I don't want them. They don't have
the same attachment, but eventually they will have the same
attachment to a team. And I don't want them to
have I don't want them to have that feeling, but

(36:31):
I do want them to have the same feeling that
I felt, because that's what's sport. I mean, it'll take
your heart, It'll rip it out of your chest, tear
it into pieces, and then throw it on the ground
and stomp on all those little pieces. And that is
what happened to me on Wednesday night. And I fell
asleep and then I woke up at two am and

(37:00):
I couldn't go back to sleep again because I still
had that nauseous feeling in my stomach. I it was
just such a gut punch. It reminded me of Ray
Allen from the corner when the heat. We were about
to win, but that was the clinch the NBA title.
That game was to clinch. We needed one stop. We

(37:22):
ended up losing that game, losing Game seven. The next
year we were on a rampage and we absolutely dominated
the NBA. But this was tough, man, and everybody's like, Oh,
the Spur is gonna be around forever, you know what
I mean. They're set up for the future. The future

(37:43):
was now. You can never guarantee you're gonna get back.
We thought we were set up going forward with Kawhi,
and then Kawhi wanted to leave town. Who's gonna say that,
Dylan Harper or wim Be or Castle. They don't say,
hey man, I want out. You never know. You have
to grab it when it is right in front of you.

(38:05):
We're still gonna win the series. And I had to
break it to my kids yesterday when I got home
from work. Hey, Bud, guess what Spurs lost? No way, Dad,
we were cooking. Yeah, Well, then we took an ice
bath and we froze up. O my gosh, and I

(38:30):
don't know how to get over it. I have no idea.
I see my Spurs shirt and those shorts laying on
the bedroom floor all day yesterday. They were there again
this morning, and I looked at him and the Spurs
logo was visible, pointing up to the sky man. We've

(38:52):
had some tough losses, guys. I mean, if you're a
sports fan, you've probably had tough losses. And we're gonna
come back. We're gonna I mean today I will watch
USA Soccer at eight pm Central. I will be in
front of the TV watching that. You know what. I

(39:15):
won't be watching though Sports Center, this show or that
show because I don't want to hear them talk about games.
What is it five? They'll be Game five Saturday in
San Antonio. But you better bet your ass I'm gonna
be in front of that TV and I'm gonna be

(39:38):
yelling go Spurs, Go, Go Spurs go. And when we
win this series, it's gonna feel amazing because that heartache
that I felt on Wednesday night is all gonna be
worth it. And the only way, and I'm gonna tell
you this, we have to win the NBA title. We

(40:01):
have to you know who did this, Lebron the Calves.
I believe they were down three to one to the
Warriors and they came back and won. So why not us?
Why not us? Because if we don't win the NBA title,
it's gonna get this pain is gonna come back every

(40:24):
single year during the NBA Finals because when a team
gets up big, they're always gonna say, hey, the biggest
comeback in NBA history Finals history was the Knicks versus
the Spurs twenty twenty six when they were down twenty
nine points. And we're gonna have to hear that for

(40:45):
the rest of the time. And it's fine to hear
it if we are NBA champions this year. If we
do not win the title, it's gonna sting every single time.
Uh man, that's tough. It's tough, and I'm gonna tell

(41:10):
you this. OKAC fans that are still chirping, you guys
look like idiots. I you're I. I don't understand, like
the whining and the OHC. What's the Spurs? Don you lost?
Like you lost? You have no room to talk. You

(41:32):
should just go on vacation at cant Coon flop around
a little bit like s g A in the beach,
get some sun and maybe you'll realize you're not playing well.
We got three more games and we're gonna win all three.
Sorry I didn't call Ray, guys. Thanks for coming on

(41:55):
this depressing journey with me. Oh man, I haven't even
called my dad. I haven't even called Toolbox because he's
gonna be like they're idiots and it's just an a sore.
It's like pouring salt in the wound, and I'm not
ready for it. I'm just not ready to do that.

(42:17):
You guys, have a great weekend, USA tonight. Please get
in front of your TV, have friends over, go to
a watch party, wear the red, white and blue, and
say af you to Paraguay. Let's win this game. Let's
have the Spurs win on Saturday night. Let's have this

(42:38):
thing go seven freaking games and Wimby and the boys
hold up the Larry O. B Let it be, Let
it be go, Spurs go. Oh I need a drink.
I really wish I could have just kept I could

(42:58):
have just drank on when night. I had to work
the next day so I couldn't. But man, that was bad.
It was so freaking bad. Oh my god, but we're
still winning the series. Spurs and seven pook it. That

(43:20):
may be our least downloaded pod ever, that might be.
If anybody has suggestions on how you cure depression, that'd
be great. Let me know, all right. Even my sister
who doesn't care, She goes, hey, can you tell your
boys in San Antonio to get their stuff together? Thanks? Sis. Yeah,
we don't talk Spurs. We don't mention that name until tomorrow.

(43:44):
Go Spurs, go damn damn, damn, damn damn
