Speaker 2 (00:34):
I know the most about sports, so I'll give you
the sports facts, my sports opinions, because I'm pretty much
a sports genius, y'all.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
It's Sison from the North, Alpha Male, live on the
North side of Nashville with Baser, two acres, two kids
at Vandy justin please check on them. He's in Michigan now.
He's a traveling r N and he said he clear
to check double figures the other day. Good God, they
print money up there. Whoa he got up to ten
dollars or so. Coach over to you. But before I
go over to you, I want to say, Freeland Chevy
(01:05):
right now is giving me a rental for a month.
I still got it. Wow, guys, if you want it back,
let me know, otherwise I'll continue to drive it.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I gotta say, dude, you have been in your pool.
You have absolutely been in your pool because.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
You look dark. Oh really? Yeah? Oh I thought maybe
you saw videos that Baser put up. No, I'm just
looking at your nose. It looks dark, man. I do
a little facial spray though, too. Oh. But also that's
not the dark. Dark is probably from the pool. It
was embarrassing Baser. I didn't know she was videoing me.
I look like a beach whale getting into this dog pool.
(01:44):
And the way I'm sitting down in it, dude, I mean,
it's just like the definition of poor. It's one foot
deep and dude, dude, I'm sitting on this floaty like
I'm in the French Riviera. I act like I'm in
Italy right now, on a beautiful at bees a day.
I'm in a dog pool in an Indian lake. It's
so embarrassing. I thought that's what you're talking about. No,
(02:06):
I didn't see the videos. I didn't see anything. I
just looked at you and I was like, dang, you
are dart and I'm cleaning off my floaty like I'm
cleaning off my ship. Dude, I'm about to set sail
or something. Dude. It's a freaking five dollars floaty from Walmart.
That's funny, dude, I gotta post it. It's like me.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
I had my wife take a picture of me. We
went to the pool yesterday and there's kids everywhere.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
You know what I mean. But I got one little
section and I laid like I was.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Just enjoying this peaceful pool, like I had it all
to myself. Really, if you pan out, there's kids everywhere.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
The beauty of photography.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Oh man, I edited them out, like, hey, yeah, just
give me in this one little section, boob looks like
I am just relaxing, having the time of my life.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Does it almost look like it's a private pool? It
almost does like at your house.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Yeah, oh wow, because I'm just floating and there's no
one around me.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
But literally there's people all over the place. And that's
the thing you can do with friends from home other cities.
You can live with her life on Instagram you want.
Nobody has a clue. That's why I just appreciate Baser
taking a random video of me sitting in a dog
pool I'm like, well, that's not edited. I look like
a beach whale, thanks, sweetie. Freaking. My stomach's like bent over,
(03:15):
my boobs look massive. Oh nice, I mean it looks
like I'm breastfeeding. I'm like, Laura, could you have found
a worse angle and posted on the internet for me? Thanks?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
I will say baser did text me yesterday what the
and she said Happy Father's Day? Oh okay, and I
was like, huh, very interesting.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I wasn't even with her. I was working all day.
We don't have help at the house. So I was
whoever said monkey grass goes monkey Oh it does wherever
you plan it. It shoots off in every direction, so
then you have to weed eat. So I was doing
that tennis side.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I have monkey grass. Yeah, it's it's very hard.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
It's uh, you can rip it apart and it still
comes back.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Man. Well right now, it's fine because I took it out.
But the listeners that said don't get it. It's evasive.
If you will, yes, they were correct. Tennis elbow and
then and also the when we paved our driveway, father
in law said, hey, if you leave some mud on there,
because these delivery trucks come in low key flex from Amazon,
and they pull through the mud and then they go
down my driveway and he said, hey, if you leave
(04:13):
those mud marks, if it doesn't rain enough, then it'll
stay in your driveway. So I was out there scrubbing
the mud marks. We don't have help. I got tennis
elbow this morning. Man, you're scrubbing because the rain was
coming today. So I was curious when bait. Yeah, I
should have looked at the web. Yeah I should have.
You're a weather guy. Ray. But she was at her
dad's and then I think she went shopping, so I
was curious if she swung by your house. I didn't
(04:34):
know why she texted you. No, no swinging by.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Just said Happy Father's Day, and I was just like oh,
and I felt bad.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
I never responded.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I'm just not used to getting Happy Father's Day from friends.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
But that is great. Well, and then I got a
text also that said Happy Father's Day. And I don't
know who was from, so I don't know if they
were making fun of me. I don't know if they're
announcing something to me. Yeah, I don't know. Don't text
the rain happy fathers.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
That's a weird text to get. If you don't know
who it is and where it's coming from. That's a
strange feeling. Thanks, son, But what a weekend?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Man? Did you have a good weekend? You're gonna start
it with USA. I am not going to start it
with USA.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
I got a text on Friday and it was like, Hey,
what are you guys doing tonight?
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Was that a joke you saying did you have a
good weekend? Was that the small talk joke? That's funny, man,
that's actually really funny.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Oh no, I was really asking him to get a
good weekend. But then you had nothing. So I was
just like, all right, I'll take it from here.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Then.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
But I got a text on Friday from one of
my neighbors like, hey, what are you doing tonight? I said,
I don't know. I mean after the USA game. We
got no plans. And he said, hey, my work is
having an outing to Banana Ball at First Horizon Park.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
They were in town again. Yeah, they play more in
the sounds, That's what I'm saying, And so I was like,
I'd never been.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
He goes, well, look, we got extra tickets that aren't
going to be used by the company because one of
my coworkers can't go and would you cover for him
that way you show up and his tickets get scanned.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
He just got to act like you know something about Microsoft.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I'm like, I think I can handle that. He goes, Yeah,
his family, it's kind of it's not a required event,
but it looks bad if you don't go event.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
One of my kids can scan as well, and he goes.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
So if you could use his tickets that way it
looks like he scanned in, it would be awesome.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
And you love that because you're the king of Ray.
We gotta go get the Chris Stapleton tickets and scan
them so the company sees that they're scanned in. It
takes me back to one year we were in Las Vegas.
They don't give a crap if we go to those shows. Yeah,
that was my fault. And I was also a stable
too when he played the Amphitheater. It was before he
was big time. Yes, we decided not to go. There
were reasons, you remember.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Yeah, my wife blew up like I mean, her face
swelled up like I mean, it was like I don't
know what that It looked like hitch right, she looked
like Will Smith on hitch.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
You gotta scan these tickets our company. It's a demerit
if you don't use the tickets.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Dude, I'm so weird. Because we were in Vegas one time.
My wife, she worked for C three Percents. They put
on Lollapalooza and she did the marketing for the Cosmopolitan
plug it and she we were in Vegas because it
was New Year's and I believe it was the Red
Hot Chili Peppers were playing New Year's Eve at the Cosmopolitan.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Elephone ca.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Uh well, the night before there was a Black Crows.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I think that's the band. Is that a band? Yes?
And you've told the story before, so let's just get
to it.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
And she they gave us tickets to that at the
hard Rock and she got so drunk she was like,
I can't go. I gotta go to bed. And I
was like, oh my gosh, she's gonna get in trouble
with her work for not using those tickets.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
It no matter what the concert is, it doesn't matter
if it's fair tickets, this guy will go scan them.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
And so I took her ID traveled all the way
to the hard Rock casino and tried to get the
tickets and they wouldn't give them to me because they
thought I mugged her in the parking lot, stole her
id to come get Black Grow tickets, and I was
just trying to protect her from her work, knowing that
she didn't use the tickets. Now, all these years later,
(08:27):
I realized, they don't give two craps if you use
the tickets.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
I don't think anybody does. The label, the artist, the company,
the upper management. They just have some allotted and here
you go. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
So I was like, my neighbor was like, hey, could
you scan him for this dude? That way, you know,
it looks like he was there. I was like, sure,
banana ball, let's freaking go free tickets.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Were the guys. They wear the banana panties and then
they're out there playing baseball, dancing and doing a little
bit more uh grinding and stuff than they are actually
like grounders.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Correct, that's what we were going to see. And I
was like, all right, here we go. And we get
there and they say get there early because a lot
of the pregame stuff like it's like a great atmosphere.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
I say, run out of grounder. They say, I got
a run in my pantyhose. That's banana ball.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
And So the game was at seven point thirty. So
we roll up at six o'clock hour and a half
early to this thing. Tailgate tailgate right. Well, parking is
hell of expenses for Banana Ball Park. Oh you can,
there's little spots you can. Nah, there was not a
little spot. I was trying to find a street side parking.
(09:40):
Couldn't find any street side parking. Pulling a parking lot.
Fifty three dollars, fifty three dollars.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
What's the three for the two hundred and fifty celebrations?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
I don't know, but I said, you know what, we
got free tickets. We'll pay the fifty three dollars. I
don't want to leave this spot and then drive somewhere
and had to be twelve blocks away at the end
of the night. Kids are going to be exhausted. That
would be a long walk back to the car. I'll
pay the fifty three damn dollars.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
So you got the kids in? Oh? Yeah, So he
had a whole lot of tickets, Yes, yeah, all the kids.
You've got a pile of kids. I got three kids.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
I wasn't going to go to Banana Ball without the
box boys like that seems like I don't.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Maybe I'm not really a fan.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I don't know, but I would not think that would
be an adult thing without kids.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
There's a lot of dancing and a lot of cartoon references.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Correct, And so we roll up and I am shocked
at the buzz. It is hopping. People are out of
their mind excited. And I have never seen so many
grown ass adults wearing the gear of not even real teams.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
It's a make believe teams.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
These are make believe teams, like they're not They're not
major League Baseball teas. These are like Goofy team.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
What it's like the banana thongs and what is it?
Speaker 2 (11:04):
The Party Animals Party Animals Texas tailgaters and you know what,
The Party Animals are known for partying well, and they'll
play a concert before the game and then they go
play the game.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Aren't they going to be tired from the concert? So
like the lead rock star on the Party Animals is
like the center fielder, Yeah, is he not going to
be tired from performing before?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah? I mean it was all interesting how they were
just doing stuff before and dancing and goofing off. One
guy was walking around the outfield wall throwing the football
with fans.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
I mean, nothing to do with baseball, but sure, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
And the kids thought that was so cool. And I
mean every ten feet in that place, merch tenth, March
ten merch tent. I'll making March tifty thousand dollars in merch.
Merch t to McKeith, Rest in peace. There was merch
everywhere and people were buying it like they couldn't wait.
(12:03):
They had money burning a hole in their pocket to
buy merch.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Who told me that scuba Do you want a scuba quote?
I would love it? He says, some of this merch,
he was gonna he was gonna drive into the colts
where the Pacers played basketball. He was going to drive
into where the Indianapolis Colts play football, because he says,
those pro shops. You can't even get any of that
merch online. You only get it at those pro shops.
(12:28):
So maybe that's the case with banana thongs. Yeah, maybe
it is.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
And so then I'm looking at the field and I'm like,
where are the bananas?
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Where are the banana were there's somewhere monkeying around.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
I mean, I'm looking that team is the the party animals? Okay,
there's them, So the other team must be the Bananas.
And I look over there and I'm like, doesn't say
bananas and their uniforms aren't yellow.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
I always just look for the teams that's dancing and
playing with their panties. That's the Banana Ballers.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
No, it was the Texas Tailgaters. You went to the
Neon one, so there was no bananas.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
No, there's one that's uh no, no, no, it's like comet ball.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
No, no, no, the Bananas weren't there. It was the Texas
tail Gators versus the party animals.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
It was the offshoot teams. Yes, you went to the
second dairy panty dancers.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I went to the secondary panty dancers of the league
and they're still a hit.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
They it was sold out ray see Okay, so it
all makes sense now why I wasn't a Nissan. I
was like, the Banana ballers usually do the Nissan thing.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I was like, what do I do? And I here's
the thing. It was still eighty percent of the crowd
was in gear from one of those two teams.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
That is how brainwashed these people are. That many people
by gear for the offshoots. Are they aware this not real? No?
It's fake what you're watching on TV reality shows, fake
what you're watching on a Friday night with your family.
Fake banana ball isn't real. These aren't pros, dude, and I.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Am sitting there, and we sat out in the right field,
right field corner by the bandbox.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yes, And it was free food, free drink, and by
drink I mean soft drinks and buy food, I mean
hot dogs, hamburgers, mac.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
And cheese, chips, cookies, oh, the big five.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Yes, and we get our food and baby box ones
like I don't like hot dogs or hamburgers. What since
when don't you like hot dogs or hamburgers? Goes, I
don't like those? Can we get something else? I'm like, huh, sorry, Bud,
this is what's for dinner. Dinner is served. You can
get whatever you want out of these items, but it
has to have an FF for it. And let me
(14:58):
tell you they they do a lot of stuff. Pregame,
the dancing, the goofing off. They come riding out on
a truck, the Texas Tailgators or maybe that was the
party animals, I don't know which one. One guy had
an electric guitar was playing it and then they get
to the game and the first four innings they don't
do any dancing or anything.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
They just play and guess what, the baseball itself sucks.
The guys kid hit it out of the infield.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
There was no runs, and they don't keep score the
normal way. It's not like if you score five runs,
you have five runs.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
I've turned it on the TV before and the announcer
tries to explain it for four innings the scoring system. Yeah, well,
they go through the whole order and once they get
to the last guy, they'd have to beat the team
per inning, and per inning. It's the quantitative result of
the per innings. And if a guy walks, you can
run around three bases and get thrown out. What whatever
(15:54):
abs let's review that pitch. Before the game.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
They did go over the nine or ten or eleven
rule that there are a banana ball, and one of
them was if the catcher drops the ball, you can
steal first base. If there's a walk, if you get
four balls, you get to run as many bases as
you want until every player on the field touches the ball.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Yes, but they always touch it before and throw you out.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Everybody only got to first on a walk because they
all run to second base and they do the little.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
All handed off to each other. Yeah, they're doing the
handy thing in second.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
I was thinking they had to chunk it around the yard.
That's I mean, just running the second So they only
got to first every time, on the walk every time.
So as exciting as that play was supposed to be,
they should make the players stay where they're at and
they have to throw it all over the place. That
thing they it more exciting.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
More rules for banana ball.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Yes, you got to take a break hold on Hanah.
I'm gonna tell you one more thing that they did.
The scoring was let's say the churney know it, the
tailgaters score five runs in the fourth inning, and you
score six, you win in the inning, You get one point,
you win the inning.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah. I had it explain to me five times ESPN.
They explained it for thirty minutes.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Yeah, so the score is not six to five after
they did it was one to nothing.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Yes, but a ball.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
And then at the top of the ninth, if the
visiting team has more trick plays than the home team,
they get a point.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
And if there's a foul ball, can you throw the
guy out?
Speaker 2 (17:26):
No? If it's a foul ball, and you catch it
and you're in the stands, the batter is out, and I.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Believe we don't google. It's called Cosmic League. There's one
that's at night. It's all neon thongs and panties and
all that and it for Cosmic League. If you any
any time they foul it to the audience, it's a
live ball. Huh. So that's a different rules system than bananaball.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Yeah, we did, we are Our crowd did catch one
foul ball, so we got one out in the stands
and the left fielder.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Did Who are you guys cheering for? Oh? My kids
were definitely cheering for the part the animals over the
Texas Tailgators. Yes.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
And my wife, God bless her, you know what I mean.
She was like, oh my god, I gotta get a hat.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
If baser wearers a Texas Tailgaters fake hat or no,
that's not fine. In my house. We watch real sports,
barely watch the World Cup. We watch men's sports. You're
not wearing some fake Fantasyland banana thong hat.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
I didn't even know this, but she disappeared and I
didn't ruze. She was at the merch tem and she
comes back. She goes, Ah, I was looking at the
hats and I just couldn't decide on which one to get,
And I said, which one did you get? She goes, Well,
then our neighbor just told me I shouldn't get either
one of them, and so I didn't. I'm like, good decision.
When are you ever? She goes because they weren't really good.
(18:48):
It was like it was like a fork with a
piece of sausage on it for the Texas tailgaters.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
I just thought it was kind of cool because we're
from Texas. Guys. Newsflash, none of the Banana League teams
are gonna win the World Series. They're all fake teams.
But you know who won the Banana World Series last year?
The aren't the Banana team the best one? No, the
Party Animals. So maybe that's how they're big now this
year because they had won it. They're the twenty twenty
(19:13):
five Banana League champions. Well, I saw some clip on
the internet. They had their clothes all stripped off, the
guy was flexing. There was some kid song. It was
like in sync or something. Well, by the time the
guy got to home, they were doing a music video
in the game. During the game, mind you. Well, I'm
trying to watch some baseball. But the music video. By
the time the guy got to home, his whole shirt
was ripped off.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Before the game, like they're introducing the starting lineups, and
then they had a way out, way off.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
They had a way in before the game.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
And the coach for the Texas Tailgaters and they say
his name and he comes out with no shirt on
and they weigh him on a scale. Then they have
the coach from the party animals come out with no
shirt on, and they wait.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Who is the sponsor weight watchers. I don't know what
the point of the weigh in was because they're on
the road. These guys are probably pumping two hundred and
fifty pounds, but what was the point. They probably have
to stay under two sixty or something, Uh, the cholesterol
levels or they're an hindrance to the game and they
could die of a hard tea.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
It was very instrit Maybe that's like, oh, it's like
before a fight, you weigh in. I don't really I
didn't understand that part because they never weighed them again,
Like if the stress got to them through the game
and they lost weight, they never reweighed them at the
end of the game.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
So that's what was very confusing. Oh, they lose weight
during the game, but they didn't reweigh.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Them, so I didn't really understand that part.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
And I'll tell you the rest of it well, and
I have something that'll totally blow your mind. Okay, right
after this, we'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
So then around the fifth inning, I think that's when
they turned off the lights and you had these wristbands
on and like you could see them.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Do do do well and tell me this security. I mean,
that's all you need is them cutting the lights and
some guy's grabbing a girl's boob.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
No, No, they had security and it was really great.
And they did one sponsored by Duncan and if the
batter struck out, they would throw out donuts. And of
course the batter struck out, and so they threw a
couple bags of minies out to the whole crowd, and
don't worry, baby Box caught one with his glove.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
And he ate it. Oh, he ate a glove donut.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
There was I think there was three minis in the
little bag and he ate two and split one with
his two brothers. And the light thing was cool. Then
they brought like those flat like glow sticks like you're
directing a plane. They did that around the field with
the lights off. But that was about it. But then
(21:46):
they did have the bartenders on the party animal side.
They were right by first base and they were mixing
drinks and throwing the cocktail glasses up in the air.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
So it's booze fuel.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
But I don't think they ever served a drink. At
the very beginning of the game, they had a chug off.
I don't love this for a family atmosphere, but it
was root beer. But it's promoting binge drinking. Molly and
my neighbor.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
He plays on the party Animals, but he doesn't play.
I told you he's gonna blow your mind. What did
you say? What? Yeah, it'll blow your mind. So he
plays on the party Animals, but he doesn't play. What
he's a guitar player and he plays on the and
he's on the field. He plays guitar, but he never
(22:33):
plays baseball. What's he look like? He was the guy
that's playing the guitar, black dude. What Yeah, neighbor. He
used to hang on them all the time at the pool.
I know his name, but you don't know his name,
so really, no, you can tell me his name, Adam.
What's the last name. I don't know, Okay, but he was.
(22:54):
He's the You'll see him in all the videos. You'll
see him in all the pregame stuff. You'll see him
on the field. He goes on the when they're all
shirtless and taking their clothes off and their pants and
they're undressing and they're de robing. But he never plays
in the game. If that doesn't throw you, I don't
know what does. So he's on the team, but he's
not on the team.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Yeah, because it's back. They had one guy come out
to the outfield. He had no shirt on, some neon pants,
some crazy glasses. I don't even think they have lenses
in them, and he was just shooting people in the
water gun. No position. No, no, he generally didn't play.
He didn't have a glove. He was just part of
(23:35):
the atmosphere. And they had the party starters, which are
not on the team, but they dance in the infield
before the game. And then there was another group that
came and tried to crash the party. Guess what they
were party crashers.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Do you see people dressed like new York Yankees during
Yankees games. No, there's the players in don Zimmer. Those
are the only people wearing jersey. I don't like that.
There's party animal people that are wearing the jerseys around
and they're not even on the team. Dude.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
And the music, it does not stop. They played twenty
second clips of.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
Songs boom boom, boom, boom, boom.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Boom for two and a half hours. It is NonStop.
Kids are dancing. So my analysis of Banana Ball, hey,
I was shocked at the bananas were not there, because
when you tell me I'm going to Banana Ball, I
think I'm going to see the Savannah Bananas.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
It's like you're thinking you're gonna go see the Yankees
and you go see the Rockies.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Correct.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Well, no, it's more like you go see the sounds.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Yeah. So it was awful but amazing at the same time.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Did anybody hit a home run? One guy top of
the ninth See, that's actually shocking. Yes. Uh.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
And as my wife said she was texting me throughout
the game, she goes as a person that worked in marketing,
this is phenomenal. Well, I mean she's their demo soccer moms. Yeah,
I mean the kids loved it. This is so great.
From a former event marketer and promoter, this is a
(25:17):
huge hit and moneymaker. I'm really impressed.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
But why is she texting you? I thought you guys
are there together?
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Yeah, you know, like she's like six people down because
I got kids in between me and she's talking to
someone over there.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
I'm over here.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
And it was very interesting. And then after the game
they have the after party. Dude, does it ever end?
Speaker 1 (25:41):
No, it never.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
It's a two well, I will say it's a two
hour time limit from the time first pitch. They put
a two hour clock on that screen and it counts down,
felt like six hours, and it felt like.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
No, no, no, it.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Felt like six hours because we were there so freaking early.
But you saw some good baseball, man, But it was
entertaining enough where the kids loved it.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
You're saying you'd rather go watch these guys play banana
ball instead of a Cubs game at Wrigley. Wrong, You've
lost your damn mind. I didn't say that, Ray, they
have the heart for the game. I didn't say that.
And then I still haven't gone to one. I'm not
gonna go watch these guys dance around in banana thongs.
That's not my cup of tea. I want to see
(26:29):
him put on the jockstraps. I want to see him
put on the pin stripes. I want to see him
put on the stirrups, the belt that no name on
the back. Because it's not about party animals. It's about
the symbol of your city. And go play some baseball
pine tar leather bats, not the kind of BDM leather
stuff the party animals are putting on. By the end
of the game, half of them are naked. Now, I
(26:49):
don't think any of them play the game with all
their clothes on. I'm not here for it. My name's Bennett.
I ain't in it. My name is Paul.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
It is up to y'all, and I'll hang up and listen.
In about the fifth inning, my neighbor sat behind me.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
What was his thoughts?
Speaker 2 (27:05):
And I turn around and he's in a party animals jersey.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
He got money to throw around, And I.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Said, dude, what He goes, Man, I don't know something
about this. I just had to go buy a jersey.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Hit the laugh rag. I said, tell me how much
was that? And he goes and I don't want to say,
You'll never wear it again.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
I said, like, realistically, when are you gonna wear that again?
He goes, I don't know, man, but this is just
so much fun. I said, how much do you pay
for that? And he goes eighty five dollars.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
And his wife goes what and he goes, I didn't
want to say it. I didn't want to say it.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
He paid eighty five dollars for a party animals Jersey,
so whatever they are doing, it is working.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
It was crazy.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Johnny Knoxville came out and.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
He's Nashville, I guess, so, I mean, where's cam Ward
or somebody?
Speaker 2 (28:11):
But he stood across the home plate and they let him.
They threw a fastball right to his chest.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Really, yes, that's entertaining but scary. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
He was telling the picture to hit him right in
the nuts, but the picture never did. Then Steve O
came on first base and they lit his jacket on
fire and he ran around the bases and slid into home.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Was the fire department on.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Call, and they did hit him with a extinguisher when
he got to home. So my kids did the next day.
I remember that guy was on fire. And then my
oldest goes, yeah, I remember what he said, hit him
right here, hit him right here, and I was like yeah.
So they enjoyed it and they wanted to go back
on Saturday night. But as we're walking out, because they
(28:58):
had the after party where the they get up on
stage and they do a concert. And here is one
thing I will say. They brought every single player up
on the concourse and line them up like sections apart
so people could go get pictures autographs. That was so
smart because every player was available and so it wasn't
like you had to wait in line like at Nashville
(29:20):
SC Meet the Team night when you gotta wait for
two hours to meet one player. You could meet the
players so fast. My kids were over the moon. Babybox
one was like, Dad, we got to buy a jersey.
I said, you lost your damn mind, and so he
had him sign.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
It their shirts.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
The other two had their baseball gloves, got their gloves
signed by all the party animals, by the Texas tailgaters. Fine,
they're not gonna remember who these people are. But my
middle child babyboxers like, Dad, this is my lucky glove.
Now look at all these players that signed it. But
here's the one problem I had.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Or I was gonna say what, get to your point.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
There were adults getting signature from these guys.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
I mean, these guys aren't even pros man. No, no, no,
I'm not. I'm not diminishing it. I mean they played
baseball at the level I played it. They play. I
get what they're doing, But what the hell are adults
doing getting signatures of these guys? Well? No, no, no, what
Like some of the women may have fallen in love
because a lot of these dudes are in shape and
a lot of them are tan.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I will say the end of the top of the
ninth inning, the Texas Tailgators are at the plate. All
the players that were on the party, animals that weren't playing,
they were officially shirtless and flexing like in the camera angle.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Just like posing. And like I called it, I was like,
what are we doing? I told you, I mean, I
guarantee you at any city that at least some of
their stops they're bagging housewives. Oh I bet.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
And it was wild Man and one guy sang karaoke
and I guess it was his wife. They showed in
the crowd and they just kept the camera on her
as he sang some romantic song.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Wait, he was on the team singing. Yeah, he was
on the team. See A lot of them are also artists, Yeah,
musically inclined, so they have that as well going for him.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
So, I mean it was it was interesting, man. I
would say it was awesome and terrible all at the
same time. The kids absolutely loved it. I'm shocked how
many adults love it. Shocked how many adults were buying
merch for themselves, and I'm shocked and how many adults
were getting autographs of these players. I don't know, but
that was my night at banana Ball.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Whooa.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
See you next weekend at banana Ball.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
We'll be right back. Hello a plug I mean, it
wasn't plug d It was just my night. Now.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
I gotta read you an email because this is very important.
Happy Monday Coachers listener, Happy Monday Coaches.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
I don't know what that was.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Listener from day one here in upstate New York, Sarah
Stota Springs absolutely love what you guys have done with
the pod. Anyways, for his past year, my girlfriend got
me tickets to the big Alan.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Jackson show coming up in Nashville.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
We will be in town from the twenty fourth to
the thirtieth and her fortieth birthday happens to be while
we're down there. Last time I was in Nashville short
shortly after graduating college twelve years ago, I tore up
Broadway good and proper. However, about a year and a
half ago, I got sober and in loving life more
than ever. As for nighttime goes, she's got Opry tickets
(32:28):
for a few of the nights, figuring there will be
a bunch of big names in town that might just
be popping in. I guess we're mainly curious if you
guys have any suggestions, recommendations, pro tips on other sober
activities during the day, and possibly any hidden gems to
eat and possibly a special spot for a birthday dinner.
Also shout out to the other coaches out there that
(32:49):
are just trying to stay on the wagon one day
at a time. If y'all are all interested, I'm in
the infancy of starting a recovery podcast called The Sobering Truth.
Any support is greatly appreciated. Keep on doing what you're doing,
and tell those that can drink have an extra one
for the rest of us that can't, And as always,
go bills.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
That's from Justin my Justin no different, justin same wagon,
same wagon. Anyways, the Nashville can totally be done sober.
I've done it when I'm driving baser and justin. It's hilarious.
You go to a bar and you're like, why are
people in here? The only thing that brings people into
those bars is alcohol. You just look at it. It's hot,
you're standing up, unless it's a well air conditioned one
(33:31):
like gars Ns in low places. Typically you just go
to a bar and you're like, this is hilarious. The
only reason people are doing this is because they're drinking.
But yeah, you can too, go to the bars check
it out.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah, but he already did Broadbaly so look man, hitting chyms,
the listening room, cool place, acoustic music, low key. It's
not like a jam pack bar. You have a reserve seat,
gotta buy tickets in advance. That's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
The pedestrian bridge. Not jump off it, but go there.
It is beautiful. It is in the morning at sunset.
You got the city, the whole skyline right there. All
the girls on Instagram. Go do a picture there, the locals,
the smart ones. It's the spot. I mean you. There
also may be five chicks also trying to do the
same picture as you, But just go do it, especially
(34:17):
in the morning. It'll be just you.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Yeah, old school place to eat, School's Rainbow Room, Downtown.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
That's where Tim mcgraug got his start, Is it really? Yeah?
I was wondering why that place was famous. Yeah, are popular.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
Yeah, you can look, there's other artists that have gotten
their start there that that's where they started. And it's
a good little place to eat make reservations usually.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Packed well, and I think they do a cabaret show, right,
isn't that like? What is that? It's not fully nude. No, No,
it's just like tassels and stuff. So that's good. A
good place to eat breakfast.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
I like Monell's. It's like family style. You sit at
the table with a bunch of strangers and they just
bring everything out on big plates.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
Is it in a house. It's in a house. Did
I walk by it when I went to our event
at the baseball Yeah, you did it even knew where
that plays is located. Absolutely? Did it looks like Amy's
old house exactly. That's what I mean. I love it.
It's a great place. Would never there, I know, but
that's I mean, that's it.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
I mean you can if anybody else got suggestions, Happy
birthday to your fiance or girlfriend. Oh girlfriend, I said, fiance,
my bad but safe trip and go Bill's go. Congratulations.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Man may have spilled the beans there.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Yeah, no it doesn't say it says girlfriend. I just
read fiance.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
Yeah, go, Bills go. Eventually they predict him every year
to win the Super Bowl. One of them.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
You got to I think, I mean, you think you
would think they're like, I mean, they're they're they're very
painful to watch because they're actually good and they never
get there.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Last year they were the favorites that I don't even
think they made the playoffs. Now they did. They just
lost to real quick. Who did they lose to? First round?
Who went to the super Bowl last year? Rams and somebody? Rams?
Seahawks beat Rams and then Patriots. Remember the Patriots. Rabel
was their interview.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
That's when they were Oh man, I forgot it. No
wonder they got whoo he was too busy banging Russini.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
Well you know she was on the beat in New Orleans.
Oh she was beating that meat. We still have been
discovered everything that there is uncovered with that one. Wait,
how has that story just disappeared. That's how it had
they wanted to. They're drewing everything they can to bury it. Well,
how does it disappear? She deleted her Twitter, she got
kicked off the newspaper, she deleted her Instagram, she deleted
everything to do with herself. And the only picture we
(36:23):
have of her is her with her dude in the
back alley of some place.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
I saw them kissing on one day, like Happy Father's Day,
and they were kissing. I'm like, this dude just forgave
her like that. But maybe he knew all along. That's
another thing is we had like this is so crazy,
but maybe the dude knew all along.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
Well, then why do the private investigator and just throw
that money over. We still don't know that it was him.
It could have been Rabel's wife. We still have no
idea how that those pictures got out. Still crazy to me.
Of all the things we get information to, we're not
perview to that ray. Yeah, but making those big boats
(37:01):
just went into hiding and then Rabel played the perfect
father card. Made mistakes all right.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
Next question, Yeah, I had some tough conversation with my family.
We love each other.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Next question, how hard were those conversations.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Now my question is now when the football season, because
we're only you know what, a month away, month and
a half.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
There's gotta be cat calling it games.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
There has to be every press conference he does, the
local beat reporters for whatever city have to say, hey, man,
you tried to Ruscini lately.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Everybody has to ask him that.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Every press conference, there has to be a question about Russini.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
They lose four in a row, he's gone. I called
it before. I never said he was gonna get fired,
but I did say if there's a losing streak, that's
the first excuse they have.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
You do understand that Robert Kraft is in the same
kind of stuff. He likes to go to massage parlors
that are hooker joints. He doesn't care. He doesn't care
about this. He probably high five and have given him
tips how to get away with it.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
Anybody can win the Super Bowl, preferably the Titans, but
just please not the Jets or what's the other the Giants.
I can't see any of that again, dude. Where they're
stripping people naked in the streets, They're vandalizing places, burning places,
bloodying people. I can't see it again. You know what
(38:17):
I was waiting for.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Yesterday I was looking at Facebook and I was like, Man,
when's Reay gonna post it? Man? I thought you were
gonna say Happy Father's Day the Knicks from the Spurs. Yeah,
because you're our daddy.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Okay. I was waiting for it, but you didn't do it.
I appreciate that. I'm sure other people had the thought
and it's probably been posted, so I was like, it's
not original anymore. We gotta go, mam, Hey, what a day?
Happy Monday.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
So yeah, guys, when they say banana ball, make sure
you look and make sure it's actually the bananas and
be maybe you can explain to me what the attraction
is to it. I didn't get it. It was great
for the kids. Kids loved it, and so maybe that's it.
But I will say this, if.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
The Texas Tailgators played the Texas Rangers, they would lose
one hundred to nothing. And I'll hang up and listen.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
I I will say that I went to the Harlem
Globetrotters this year, and I've been to the Banana Ball.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
You've been killing it on fake sports, So what's the
next live.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
And I will say Banana Ball is one hundred times
better than the Globe Trotters. The Globe Trotter's got to
update their stuff. They are gonna they are gonna be.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Dead little, outdated, outdated.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
They've got to do something because banana ball, wow, highly
more entertaining than that. All right, guys, have a great Monday.
We'll see on Wednesday, and don't forget man. One July first,
tickets go on sale Coaches Convention six right here in Nashville, Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
Payment plans start July first. They're cheaper if you buy
them early. Cheaper if you buy them early.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
We can garnish your wages. We really can. We really can't.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
And ay us say us say, man, we look good,
We look good.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Try to watch it, bro without any money on it.
I'm sorry, soccer. I tried to be an American. I
mean I was in and out. I was on the
back patio golf and it's just so you didn't watch it.
I watched I mean like ten minutes here, Oh cool,
we're up one. Oh already, nice back patio golfing. I'll
go for a run, come back, Oh cool too, oh
nice nice? I mean of the ninety minutes I watched.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Fifteen of the ninety. I mean it's just a lot
of I watched ninety of it. How about US Open?
Speaker 1 (40:29):
You watch Oh so you didn't watch the whole thing
because there's actually more than ninety minutes. There's extra minutes.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Yeah, yeah, but when it says ninety minutes, I watched
it all. Did you watch a US Open?
Speaker 1 (40:39):
Turned it on the background Sunday the dude was up
by six, window clerk.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
I watched a little bit Friday, a little bit Thursday.
I think none on Saturday. What did I do Saturday
that I didn't watch any of it?
Speaker 1 (40:56):
I mean, war was Scottie?
Speaker 2 (40:58):
War was rom?
Speaker 1 (40:58):
Where was the Shambo? Where was Ziegler?
Speaker 2 (41:02):
And then I saw that Wyndham Clark was up by six.
Going into Sunday, I was like, well that's over. And
then I did a lot of stuff on Sunday. And
then I got a text from the guys like, ah,
I hope Wyndam Clark triple bogey so it gets interesting.
And then Grake said triple bogey. I was like, oh,
it must be you know something. So I got home
and for forty five minutes I watched as Sam Burns
(41:26):
and Wyndam Clark were neck and neck and then there
was like four holes to go, and I was like,
you guys ready to go to the pool.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
And we went to the pool. So I Wendom Clark won.
I guess, yeah, whether it's not for me, man. It
was way too windy and it was blowing the ball
over the place. I like, it makes it tough.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
You don't want like you would you rather see them
shoot twenty under or do you like this where it's
really hard?
Speaker 1 (41:50):
It was stupid. He was so far ahead a guy
couldn't break one, but he only won by one stroke.
I know, I get that it was a collapse, but
he was minus seven all week. He was up six
the entire week he was.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
He was leading since Thursday at like seven o'clock.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
Y'atta love that NBC.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
I was like, whoa man, we're real exciting. No lead
changes yy Jim.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
Nance and it's just me, no one else. They were
saying people were leaving. They're like, Whendom, what did you
think about people leaving early? He's like, yeah, I was
getting dark out. Oh he said that. Yeah, And I
guess they're booing him a little bit. We're booing him,
but do you remember what he did bad through clubs
and he punched a locker at some respected golf course.
I punk punched the lockers at the MUNI all the time.
(42:33):
Who cares? Man, We gotta go, dude, he goes. Hopefully
I can make it up to you guys, and you
guys will forgive me for punching a locker.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Hey, do you think you could have dinner at your
house justin for his girlfriend's birthday or fortieth.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
He's had a special quiet place. M they're doing a
lot of harvesting this season. You guys could do it
in the pool, Doggie pool. Yeah. I showed up my
floaties and stuff in there. I got not enough room.
All right, Yeah, you're right. I gotta post that video.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
Yeah, I need to see it. Man, I haven't seen it.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
It's that embarrassing it's worth posting.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
Okay, all right, have a great Monday, guys. Sorry we
talked so much Banana Ball. I was only supposed to
be one segment. But yeah, next time, I'll take you, man,
next time I'll take you.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
Did you stop it? Yeah,
