Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Sore Losers Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Hit the music. You already started it, guys.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
We have two hundred and sixty five days until the
Sore Losers Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, presented by Freeland Chevrolay
just outside of Nashville. Get your oil changed, guys. They
do rental vehicles if you need one. They can do
whatever you want. Baser's been there for her car. I
took Heather Baser's friend there. I go there at least
(00:30):
every week and see Richard and the boys, see Lewis guys.
It is phenomenal Freeling' Chevrolay. All right, let's get the
show started.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah, we gotta do it live. Man, We're gonna.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Do it live. We oh the one two three Sore Losers.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
What up, everybody? I am lunchbox.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
I know the most about sports, so I'll give you
the sports facts, my sports opinions, because I'm pretty much
a sports genius.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Y'all. It is Sison. I'm from the North. I'm an
alpha male. I live on the North side of Nashville
with Baser, my wife. We live in Indian Lake. We
got two point three three three three three three acres.
We do have two kids at Vanderbilt. They are still
the eggs, not yet the embryos, so they are defrosting.
Justin's in Michigan. He took a position there, so I
don't think he checks on them anymore. So we should
probably quit paying five hundred dollars a year if we're
(01:21):
not gonna fertilize those things. Coach over to you. Enough
about my sex.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Uh did you hear that?
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Go Spurs, Go Go Spurs, Go Go Spurs, Go go Spurs. Go.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Whoa NBA Finals here we.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Come, Finna get housed by the Knicks.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Are you drunk on a Monday?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
It'll be a better series than you think.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
I didn't say it was gonna be a terrible series.
I am just telling.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
You, guys, what a freaking game on Saturday, freaking night.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I learned so much. There's so many more important things
to talk about. But hilarious. The streets of San Antonio.
The fans were celebrating. Dude, they go crazy. This one
truck had I mean it was more jacked up than
my Neon lights everywhere and had what looked like rifles,
but it was like fireworks shooting out.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Oh dude, so cool.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
It looked like straight ak forty seven shoot but it wasn't.
But they were shooting off fireworks.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
They just get in their cars, like I get. I
love being excited, I love partying, and I love I mean,
the game was awesome.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
You watch the game, right, I watched the entire game,
and I have so many thoughts. The only thought is
ok C's plan to win that game was to just
randomly throw it to a guy named Wallace and say,
hair shoot it. And I mean, and you know what
he did. He shot it mid range. Bailout was clutt
from shy. Other than that, not a lot going on
(02:57):
over there.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
It was so creak.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I mean, it was so fun because the spurs come
out and you think, oh my gosh, you're gonna be
so nervous, Like I'm nervous all day, freaking out, like,
oh my god, can we do this?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Can we please win this game?
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Dropping the peanut butter, dropping the peanut jar, yelling.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
I don't handle pickles anymore, I mean, yelling at the kids.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
The nervous energy, and we we we go to.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
The pool at four o'clock and by four twenty five
there's thunder. So pool, get out of the pool. Get
out of the pool.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
And I was reminding you of the game though too. Yeah,
and Thunder.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
I'm like, really thunder at this time, Like, are you
guys sending me a message that it's about to be
a long night? Like you are ruining my day at
the pool for the kids, and are you about to
ruin my evening with the kids in front of the tv.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
That is exactly what I was thinking. It was. It
was musty TV. I cleared that women sent them to bed.
We had the Nissan all weekend. Oh, I said, you girls,
go do some girl stuff. It's going to be a
man cave out here. And from seven it was on
a bridge from seven until ten thirty, nothing but audio
and video of the game.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Oh. My wife hits me up and she's like, oh,
by the way, you know, we're going over to the
neighbor's house at five point thirty because their son turned
five today. We weren't invited to the original birthday party,
but we're invited to.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
The after party.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Oh the post to the pre and I said, well,
I hate to tell you I'm walking out of their
house at seven o'clock. I'd say that's a Dave Slater move.
I said, I don't care what is going on. I
don't care if this is the greatest party of all time.
I am leaving their house at seven o'clock so I
can be home by seven oh eight to turn on
that TV and lead into the Spurs Thunder game seven.
(04:47):
She goes, that's fine, that's fine. I was like, I
it may be rude, it may be disrespectful. I feel
bad going there, eating and running, but it is very important.
I am home for the start of the game.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Little nostalgic can't play it. The audio of NBC.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Dun dun d.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
And dunba on NBC. Dude, that was Jordan Era. That
was awesome.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
It felt good. It really felt good. It was It
was a very enjoyable time. And when the Spurs come
out and hit like the first two or three shots,
I'm like, oh my god, they're not that nervous.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
This is great.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
And then the whole game was just body blow, body blow.
Oh they come back with a hate maker. We come
back with a hate maker. We drained a three, They
drain of three.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
It was awesome.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Well, they were their threes were hanging on for dear life. Threes.
Y'all guys were the front runner. The lead car whereas
the Thunder were like, you better make this or we're
at ten again.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
And I and I started feeling good. In the second quarter,
we start falling apart. All of a sudden, the Thunder
make their run and they are here we go. We
closed out the first half or winning, and I it
was just it was that's the kind of game I'd
like to watch. I tell you that, when your team
is playing and you're gonna win the if you win
the game or lose the game, you would rather it
(06:13):
be a nail bider where there's the whole time you're like,
oh my god, oh oh oh. The intensity that you
get to feel if it's a blowout, not that fun.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
But that said sign of an addict. I mean, because
you need that feeling, that means you're an addict. Ray
I'm addicted to that that that pucker.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
But I did leave the neighbor's house right at seven
and I was at home by seven oh eight. And
I mean, I'm the couch, I'm hitting they're hitting the
shut Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's go, let's go. Oh get
that defense steal gohead, Doug, you very much. WHOA And
I'm gonna tell you what there was a play in
the first quarter, and you know the play. You know
the play when Chet Holmgren lost his man part. It
(07:00):
shriveled up, went up beside him, and he became a bitch.
He had a massive game, I mean, not che.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Wim Minyama has the ball outside.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
The three point line. He throws it to the right corner,
cuts to the basket, give and go. Chet comes over
to block it, and I mean wom Minyama dunks it
over his outstressed arm in his face and you saw
that penis shrivel up go inside of Chet and he
was now a bitch.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
And he was a bitch the rest of the game.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
He was. He lost everything, every piece of dignity, his soul,
his manhood, all of it sucked right up inside of
him and he became a bitch.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Like what was the gameplay with Chet? Because he was irrelevant?
Speaker 3 (07:47):
So he was irrelevant because Wimby dunked on his freaking soul?
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Did he forget? Did Chet forget? He's like seven to
four and he should kind of be a force out there.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Chet realized that wim Minyama is a ma and he
will never be on his level. And he realized, oh
my God, he just dunked on me so hard. My
future kids are going to see that. I'm gonna have
to pay someone a good amount of money to scrub
that from the internet, because that is going to be
the play that goes down in history, and that may
(08:17):
be the play that sparks the Chet revolution. Chet may
go into this offseason and just bust his ass and it's.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Because of that play.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
I'm curious when do the Thunder play basketball again? Because
I know I gave up the game on my final game,
I didn't swing a bat for like fifteen years, and
then I swell it randomly at a softball game question
and I just hit a can of corn. Like obviously
they're all in Cancun, they're all in the Dominican Republic.
When do these players pick up a basketball again? That's
a great question. Is it a week a month? No
(08:50):
for Chet? Couple butts bro he scored like two points.
He's getting so drunk for a week straight. The announcers
when Cheriko's like, Chet hasn't scored it over two hours.
I mean even the announcers are saying it like a coach,
Are you gonna involve somebody besides mid Rain shy.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Well, even Reggie Miller goes, chet, where are you? Chet?
Is chet here?
Speaker 1 (09:15):
I mean he was ripping on him. But it was
it was a fun game. It was. But I mean,
you guys control, Yeah, sure, no, we controlled, We controlled it.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
We controlled.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Sure, it got to three at half, maybe five, but
I mean it was it was always spurs.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
It was pretty much always spurs. It was feeling good.
And what's funny is the shy that we saw on
Saturday night that is beautiful to watch. And I even
texted Mini Wolo and I was like, dude, this is
the shy that is amazing and beautiful.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Watch.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Am I cheering for him to win? No, but when
he is just going to his spot, pulling up and
draining things, I said, this is beautiful. This is what
we want to see. And then two minutes after I
gave him the compliment, he did the and I'm like,
shait shot, you didn't have to do that. He like,
he did that three pointer and he jumped sideways, his
(10:09):
legs kicked out to the side, not backwards where I mean,
it was such a stupid play.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
And then he did another one where hedove in the
lane and he acted like he was fouled. But it's
like you dove and shot the ball. You're the your
momentum is the dive.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Like, I don't understand how a referee when a player
is standing next to someone and they jump sideways into them,
they call a foul. We've got to understand that's not
a natural shooting motion. You never jumped to your left
to shoot it right. That's just not it.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
But yeah, the thunder sucking so bad kept us from
a last second shot. I mean, I said four point game.
I'm sorry, I forgot the Jalen Williams guy is, Oh,
they weren't saved by Wallace and Jalen Williams he's shooting
their game plan. Guys, if you're okay, see, I'm talking
to coach right now. Your question hand up, uh Man
(11:03):
enough to ask the question, coach? Was your reporter here?
Sison from the Sour Losers podcast, quick question, okay? Yeah,
was your game plan to just randomly kick it to
Wallace for threes and then say, if the shot clocked
at one or two, you throw it to the Jalen
Williams guy who's not even a three point shooter, and
then he just launches a prayer and it actually went
(11:23):
in and that was your game plan. No, I did
give him credit though he got on Wemby. He played
good defense. He was better Jalen Williams, Oh yeah, no, no, no,
I'm telling you he was good. And Caruso, I mean
he didn't hit any shots like he was hitting. But
I think when he went for that dunk, I think
(11:46):
he broke his wrist. Dude.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I mean after that, he was holding that wrist the
rest of the game and I don't think he could
shoot the ball.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Yeah, that was some force hitting the ring.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
I mean he tried to throw it down hard. And
Luke Cornett, I mean, guys, he has been rough to
watch this whole series.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
That was because play that was better than Lebron.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Back in the day, I wouldn't say I don't know
about that. You're can bear it until Lebron's takedown And
that was funny.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
And did you hear Cornett?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
No, he goes in the post game someone asked him
about that and he goes, let's see which one's remembered
in history, me or Lebron. And did you know Cornett's
a vandy dude.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Yes, that's why always make fun of him, Because I
had to watch him at Vandy, and now I had
to watch him on my TV.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Just everybody, Dylan Harper with stones that I have.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
His mom's a newscaster, his mom's on TV every day. Cornett, Oh,
I didn't know. That's the family establishment here in this
city too.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
But Harper just dray though. I mean, Harper looked great.
Keldon Johnson was a man in that fourth quarter, draining
a couple threes, getting a couple of rebound, saying.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Give me that ball. I want that freaking ball. Oh
my god, it feels.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
So good and you can't but not love the Spurs,
if that made any sense. Wimby's emotion and then Wemby
letting them touch the trophy as he's going in the
locker room, and then the fans just in the streets.
I had a friend that went to Chicago and he said,
when Jordan back in the nineties, when they were winning
those championships, he said, you always remember in Chicago how
people partied in the streets, not just downtown burn and stuff,
(13:18):
but driving around block parties. He said that not destroying stuff,
but literal block parties. People that don't even know each
other partying together. He said, that's what he remembers most
from the Jordan days, and I think the same thing
happened with the Spurs. Those were just block parties, dude.
People had their kids out there on their motorized cars
with alien dolls.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I have a question, Ray, I love the alien.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
So everybody goes to academy to get the gear, right, Well,
the aliens.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Are sold out, those little green aliens. Whoever sells those
you just became a millionaire overnight.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
A millionaire, absolute millionaire. But I mean so right when
the game ends, everybody runs out of their house starts
hogging their horns.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Give me a hornuckers.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
I mean they're all over a Southwest military war's box.
I mean everywhere they're They're all over the place.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Way were you just named streets and says yeah, uh member.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
They were on heapen er, they were on four to ten,
they were on I ten, they were on sixteen oh four,
they were on everything.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
They were all over the place.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
And they they run to the nearest academy.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
What is the academy reference.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
That's where people they go and buy the the shirts,
the gear.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
It goes on sale immediately.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Gotcha. But my question is that was a plug. Academy
has employees there is with this plug I get it now.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Right, So Academy has employees there and if the spurs
loo they lose, they just turn off the lights and
go home.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Like, how did they you know what to say?
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Like they have to be prepared well that when they
were good.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
That is so crazy.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
The boxes stayed open and the lights stayed on the
entire game for that one.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
And they usually, I mean you have to like overnight,
you know, you clean stuff up, you close it down.
So what time does it closed before they open back
up in the morning.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
They're probably just happy there's not looting. They're like, doors
are open. Guys, give us a couple bucks, take a shirt,
just don't break a window it.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
I find it fascinating that people run to the store
and wait in line for an hour, two hours, three hours,
whatever it is to get in to buy a shirt
when you could just wait till the next day. It's
just part of the hoopla, right. The hysteria is so freaking, amazing,
freaking thunder. And they were talking about dynasty. Uh oh,
I mean somebody snuck in. Guys can't do a dynasty anymore.
(15:38):
Now you gotta rebuild that.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, they talking about.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
They're gonna win it again and then they're gonna get
these draft picks. They have like five number one draft
picks in the next one year. Calm down, guys, you
gotta win the games first. I mean, they weren't even
close to winning it.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
It felt so good.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Our season changed. Let me tell you when the season changed.
Do you remember what happened back in December? You asked me,
are the thunder gonna set the record for wins? And
I was like, dude, it looks like it. They are
on pace. They are freaking on fire. They lost like
twenty games, then they lost. They played the Spurs three
times in ten days, and the Spurs beat them all
(16:17):
three times.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
And they had a little bit of an injury bug.
Not at that point the Jalen Williams was out all year. No,
he was.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
He played all three of those games when we played
him in December and we spanked that ass.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
It was I only watched the finals in playoffs. It
was a different looking team from last year.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
I mean the Cup. We played him in the Cup
semi finals and we beat that ass.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Right, a different looking team than the Bubble.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
And that's when everybody started saying, uh, oh, Spurs might
be able to beat him. Here's the thing. The thunder
Went won over seventy games combined between the regular season
the postseason. I think they had would they say, fourteen
or fifteen sixteen losses, eight of them against the Spurs.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Eight And you guys didn't even know about when Mayama
like the Utter Guy, I'm the first person that ever
told the Utter Guy about Wimbiyama. And then when you
actually got lucky, some miracle happened. You guys got him
in the draft pick.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
No, no, it wasn't a miracle. We had the best odds.
We had the worst record, so we our odds were
the best to get the number one pick. It's not
like we moved up a spot or got lucky in
the ball. We had the best odds.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
To win the number one.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
With that, then you got wm Beyama and I remember
you screaming, so at that point you probably did know
he was pretty good. He knew. Excusing me that impactful.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Well, here's the thing, what really, I mean, what's crazy
is him getting the blood clot last year that allowed
us to get the number two pick this year, this
past year, when we got Dylan Harper, because if he
would have, he wouldn't have had his blood clot we
would have won more games, and we wouldn't have had
as good a draft pick as we did, and we
wouldn't have got Dylan Harper. I don't think so that
(17:50):
is this silver lining, silver and black, and we're back.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
We are, we'll be back on San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
First talk.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
God, it feels so good. Oh this is WLAC the fan.
But there's more to talk about.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
No, there's not no more Spurs.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
Oh there's Spurs and there's a bigger bitch out there
than chet Holmgren. And we'll talk about it right after this. Well,
what time you got there, man?
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Eighteen oh fifteen? Thank you so Ray, We're not gonna
replay this one. I'm swearing and saying penis, but we're
not gonna replay this one. This is this is all
about this. No, this isn't Spurs Day because you got
your Kansas Day braided during the pandemic. You're not getting
a whole show for the Spurs. We had to talk
about other stuff.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
I'm gonna talk about other stuff.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
But I went to another soccer game. Stop.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
I'm gonna tell you I logged on our Facebook page
on Saturday. Right, and Wesley just the great old Wesley
just came to the convention, nice guy, and he put
me trying to sleep last night. Lunchbox were putting twenty
dollars on this game and it's a thunder Like a
little kid in a thunder Jersey laying in his bed
(18:58):
with his eyes wide open like he couldn't sleep because
he was nervous about Game seven. And someone replied like, was.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
It an AI kid or was it Wesley's actual kid? Now?
Speaker 3 (19:08):
I think it was Wesley as a kid. Yeah, And
so I'm like, dude, we are on, We are on.
Who else wants to step to the window? Thunder fans?
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Bring it on? We are taking all bets.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Okay, so you're doing a bet thing?
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Yeah, So Wesley and I are on for twenty dollars, right,
And Richard Howard replied, yeah, lunch puts some money on it.
And someone replied to his and was like, oh yeah, dude,
what you're at? Where are you at? And I said
all comers? And some guy goes, how about fifty bucks?
And I said fifty dollars game on bet On And
(19:51):
he replied, deal, what.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
The polymarket call she is going on.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
So some dude said he was on for fifty dollars right,
and then Richard Howard he was like, oh, sorry, I
only have cash app. If you can do cash app,
we can bet twenty. And I was like, I don't
have cash app. So Richard Howard's.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Out, guys, what is our Facebook page turned into?
Speaker 3 (20:13):
And I'm like, all right, cool. So I got fifty
with due random dude and twenty with Wesley just And
as the Spurs are winning.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
They're deleting Facebook profiles.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
As they're winning, I was like, man, maybe I should
go take a screenshot of these, but nah, no, not stupid.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
I don't do that.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
I don't need to do that.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Why would I need to take a screen shot. We're
all grown adults here.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
They'll do you one better, man. They're gonna remove their
traces from Facebook. Like we are so much better than that.
Oh I know how this plays out.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
So much better than that. And the Spurs win, and
I mean, I can't go to sleep. It's too early.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
It was eleven thirty at night.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
I understand.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
I watched all the press conferences. I watched the interviews.
I too.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Maria Taylor was great.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
She's just really good. They came out from the locker room,
came back to the table Deer and Fox who knew
Dearon Fox worked out at Tracy mcgrady's house in high school.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
That's unbelievable, nice factoid.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
He said, because he was talking about how he worked
with Vince Carter's you know, rookie year and he was like, Tracy,
I used to work at gearhouse at high school.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
He's like, I know, Bro, I know.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
And I'm like, what how does a high school or
get access to Tracy mcgrady's house. He must have been
so good in high school.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Uh, dear boy Alien, Yeah, okay, So is English his
second language?
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Yeah, he's French.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
He speaks great English. He does a really good job. Okay.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
So anyway, so after all this is calm down, They're like,
all right, good night, We'll see you next year because
they're not hosting the NBA Finals. So I'm like, all right,
let me go online and just remind these people that
they owe me my money.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
And I go online.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Wesley just is there and I look at my Venmo.
Wesley just has already paid me my twenty dollars.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Stand up guy, Stand up guy, let's clap it up.
He probably paid you in the third quarter, and he said,
let's be real, we all watch that crap.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
In his payment, he put f chet Holmgren, all right,
cool man, that's cool. I'm like, all right, now, let
me see that dude that owes me fifty But hold on, no, no, no,
hold on, there's only five cors hold on. Oh no,
little bitch deleted it.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
The comment or his entire profiles, and well, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
I forgot his name because I didn't think I needed
to memorize his name and his handle.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Dude, he wiped himself from Facebook.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Or wiped his ass from Facebook because of a fifty
dollar bet. Like what a fucking child, Like, I mean,
how embarrassing for you, dude. And I know you're listening,
and you know who you are. You're an absolute fucking loser.
Like I do not understand, Like fifty dollars is not
going to change my life. But you put that out there.
(22:45):
You came to my house and were barking about the
Oklahoma City thunder. I didn't come to your Facebook and say, hey,
let's bet fifty dollars.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
You wrote it.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
You're the one that wanted the fifty dollars bet and
then you run like a little bitch. You and chet
Holgren are little bitches.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
You need to report him on Facebook.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
The only problem is I don't know who it is
because he deleted it. He deleted all his comments, so
I can't even track him down.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
You made a bet with a nameless person.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
No, No, his name was there, his picture was there.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
I didn't even think.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
As a forty four year old man, I didn't think, oh,
let me screenshot this so I have the proof. No,
I thought, oh my god, if someone's willing to bet
fifty dollars, then they have fifty dollars and they're gonna
pay me when they lose, because I guarantee you i'd
have paid you if I would have lost, I wouldn't
have deleted my comments because you know why, I'm not
a bitch. I am not a bitch.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Are you familiar with this. Back in the day before
the betting culture, you remember, we always used to do
stuff and say we didn't shake on it.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
I remember when we were like twelve years old. No, no,
he even said done, like deal.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
I know.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
But then everybody makes predictions, checks their butts can't cash,
and then push comes to shove and it's like, shake
on it. That's just us being kids. People never change,
butters are never right. So why spend the time.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Why not reply and say, oh, we never shook on
it instead of deleting, and at least do that. At
least I know, you know, be a bitch in public.
Don't don't run and hide behind the weeds.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
That tells me he must have thought he was really
gonna win it. So he thought, okay, fifty dollars from mortgage,
fifty dollars for electricity. He lost that it's June first,
and guess what mortgages do. I mean, you're trying to
take the guy's house.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Listen, he made that bat. I didn't go to his
house and try to take it. He offered up his house.
That he's not my fault.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Here's what I learned. I've never made bets with a bookie.
I guess I didn't know you can just do it
on credit. So a lot of the people said the
allure of betting with a bookie is you never really
had to have the money. As long as you win,
you're good. They just come a knock and when you
owe him a bunch of money and you don't pay,
but your first bet with a bookie, they'll just let
you put it on credit. So that's what that why
people would get involved with bookies. Whereas this guy must
(24:58):
be in part of that bookie culture. He he was
assuming he was gonna win the bet. He didn't mortgages
due June. First, there you go, he went into hiding.
I mean, it's just such, I mean, such a bitch move. Well,
and he's gotta put some food on the table for
his kids, Well.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Send me a message say, hey, man, I really can't
afford to pay the fifty dollars. I shouldn't have made
the bet, do something like that.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Okay, So he needs to send you a sentiment, like
a real breakdown of why he can't pay it anything,
and then you'll decide if you're gonna accept that.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
No, No, I would accept it.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
I'd be like, okay, cool, whatever, But just to delete
it and run and hide behind mommy's legs like you
look like a little bit.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Do you know what it's gonna be? What I couldn't
afford food for my kids In Oklahoma City times are tough.
Construction there isn't as many trucking jobs in Oklahoma City.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
They're building a new arena. Go down there and get
a job, dude. I got the guy Morton's in construction.
I'll get you a job. Man.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
He's like, hey, I really thought Oklahoma City was gonna win.
I'd have fifty extra dollars to buy my kids some
new basketball shoes. Instead, I lost that. But I also
have a lot of stuff that's due on the first
of the month. That's what that is. So he then
woke up in a drunken stupor knew he woke up
before you.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
The crack No deleted it. He deleted it before he
went to bed because I was still awake. I hadn't
gone to bed yet. Well, the same game he might
have deleted. I would have deleted it by halftime.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
I seen.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
He may have seen freaking Vaselle from the corner of
his cell. He may have seen a block. He may
have seen something and him like, oh man, I'm better
delete this.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
And then the fans you lose that one. You're all
painted blue. Come on, guys, just wear your normal clothes.
The fans had blue hair, blue face. I love that, right,
But then you got to go home painted and blue.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Now that is sad, But at least you're walking out
with a bunch of other blue. It's not like you
were in San Antonio and you painted yourself blue. In
the San Antonio crowd, ninety nine percent of the people
there were absolutely thunderfans. So you're you're walking in misery
with everybody you get in your car, everybody knows you're sad.
They can tell you went to the game. That's the
(26:54):
cool part is you went to the game. But at
least you didn't put a fifty dollars bet on it
and run like a little bitch. God must be he
has to be related to Chet Holmgren. So frustrating, Like
that is why I should never bet with people on Facebook.
But Wesley is a stand up human, like Wesley has
like seven thousand kids. No, Wesley didn't have seven kids,
(27:17):
seven thousand kids. That was sorry, he didn't have any kids.
That was the other one.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
But I'm just so frustrated, so frustrated, like why why
why come to my house and offer me fifty dollars
if you're not gonna pay it. We heard the story. God,
I'm not him.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
We'll take a break, we'll right back. What's the time?
Twenty seven thirty seven thank you. Now, what would you
like to talk about next man?
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Tonight is a massive night in the history of the
Sore Losers. Yeah, we are the exclusive play by play
announcers of the Folds of Honor softball game. But we're
not actually doing play by play. We're just recording a
podcast that we're probably gonna play one day this week,
and we're almost be getting exclusive interviews which we probably
won't get, So you guys are probably gonna hear some
(28:04):
segment from the game and it's just us talking about
a baseball game that you're never gonna watch and you're
never gonna know who's ladying or winning, and it's gonna
probably be a disaster. And the only interview we'll have
is with some country artists. It's like d level, Uh, Yeah,
we are looking at uh. I mean, Roger Clements is
gonna be there. There's no way we're interviewing the Rocket.
But do you think the Rocket is gonna sit down
with us? And they tell him, Hey, it's a podcast.
(28:27):
Have you seen the Rocket do any media?
Speaker 3 (28:31):
No like?
Speaker 1 (28:31):
And he's gonna do it with us. We're his choice,
Like he comes to us like we're oprah. I just
want to ask him about Pedro? Hey man, what was
that like back in the U Verse? Pedro? And I
always want to know, like do they run? Because I
know pitchers are huge runners. Like day of a game
you're pitching Rocket, Like, did you get up and run?
Or would you do David Wells? Would you get drunk
(28:52):
to night before? Did you go to the ballpark way early?
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Way late?
Speaker 3 (28:56):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Loudest stadium? John Rocker? Uh?
Speaker 3 (29:00):
John Rocker, he didn't play with did you play with John.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Rock had to Yankees braves had to have had series together.
Well out of all the players you care about John Rocker,
I was just thinking of rivalries. We can't talk about steroids.
It was those rumors. What's the fastest fastball you ever threw?
At what age? Did you really know that you could
throw the ball really hard? Did you what food wise?
(29:23):
Like they does the Yankee stadium have like the best
catering or are there other stadiums that have good catering? Uh? Downtime?
What are you guys doing out there? Guys now? Do
they play on their phones? They sneak it? What did
you do back then for entertainment? Well, you see, Ray,
we'd have this fun game in the second ding you
see how many girls got some big tits around the stadium.
You could name five of them? You win that day?
(29:44):
Stuff like that, we need to talk to the rock interesting.
And then also there's gonna be uh, I don't know
if she's doing interviews though, Tommy Lauren she's a political
Correspondentser's like she's going to be there. I'm like, well,
she's not gonna interview with us. And then Golden Tate's
there too. Oh really, NFL guy. You can say, hey, i'
Basil Baser went to school with you, and he's gonna
be like, Laura, I'm gonna be like.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Birdwell ah Man the same age.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Actually they're still friends on Facebook, so he'll know her.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Are they same age?
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, they're in the year apart. She older or younger younger? Okay,
but they're friends and she was a manager on the teams,
got it, so he should know her. So yeah, I me,
I didn't know Golden. I know Cutler. Cutler will be there.
He's the usual suspect though. Yeah, he's done that thing
about ten times. Who else? Riley Green I just the
one she was excited about. And there's a dude from
his name is Rob, but he's Oh he's from Traders, dude,
(30:31):
I know. But he's also from Fancy Island. From uh
Love Island. What are the ones where the kids get
in the house and bang summer house. No, it's uh
Love Island. It's got to be Love Island. Yeah, and
he's on there and he was good. Uh.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
My wife texting me when she found out Rob was
at it, she goes, look, who's going to be there.
That was the only one she was excited about. I
don't know who else is going to be there. Uh,
Travis Pastramata, what is his name?
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Pastrana?
Speaker 1 (30:58):
I don't know, man.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
I'm just assuming that we're gonna get You're assuming we're
gonna get nobody pleasantly surprised me. But I'm doing no prep.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
I'm not even I didn't even know the list until
Baser text me a couple of them. I'm assuming we're
gonna interview a water boy. We're gonna be kind of
put off in a corner.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Next, we're gonna be in the right field on the
field though that's what they said.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
We'll be in the right field pitchers area and a
door closed and just randomly recording a podcast that we're
gonna play back and it's not it's gonna sound bad
because we're at a baseball game and we're gonna get
no interviews. Why would people be inclined to come to
right field and talk to us.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
It's a great question. None of it makes sense, but
I'm here's the thing. I'm willing to try it. I
am too, because I would love just try to get
Roger Clemens. I would love to get rob from Traders.
I would love to have Cutler for five minutes. I mean,
I got so much for Roger. I got so I
don't even know who else is there, but something has
(32:00):
to be interesting.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Cutler, what was Kristin cambill Are. That's not what I
was gonna say. My thing is this when they said
or you can just come to the media session from
five to five thirty, that's not good, right because then
you're just in a media row and all you get
is like one word with somebody, Oh, Rocket, Seer, Rocket,
thanks rocket. But if that's an option media row, why
(32:22):
then would people do the media row and then come
to an interview with us. I don't think any interviews
are lined up for us.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Yeah, we we asked them to find out like can
you guarantee us certain people? And we were told they
would ask closer to the game. Well we are now
about twelve hours now, maybe about eight hours from the game.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
How much closer to the game?
Speaker 3 (32:48):
How much closer can we get? And we still have
zero confirmation. Bro, I don't even got a parking credential,
So folds of honor, it's gonna be interesting. It's gonna
be fun. I mean it maybe the worst podcast we
ever do. I don't understand the setup, no, but realize, guys,
how fun would it be if we're actually in right field?
Speaker 1 (33:07):
We will be, but I'm telling you we'll be behind.
They're not just putting us in right field to be like,
oh you guys with balls coming in. We don't want
to put you right there in right field. So we'll
be behind defence and nobody can see us, and we'll
do a random podcast for thirty minutes and we'll get
Riley Green's sister and that'll literally be it. But we've
actually been working hard at this because we're like, hey, guys,
can we get some interviews? And they go, oh, do
(33:27):
you want to do play by? So they wanted us
to get on the microphones where you have to like
do play by play, but it's almost saying like, hey,
we're not good enough to play in this softball game,
but we're gonna be funny and introduced guys and stuff
like that, but then we can't podcast it. So it's
really just like us working for free for three hours.
We're good and I got a morning show the next morning,
so do you Yeah? Yeah, I'm part of that man
(33:48):
Bobby Bone show. Yeah. And so I was like, the
big show. I can't do that for three hours. So
we said, hey, can we just go for an hour
of the game. But it's tricky because we can't necessarily
do play by play of the game because the Truckers
don't want to listen to us celebrity softball game that
literally doesn't matter score wise, so why would we ever
do play by play of that? So the whole thing
is kind of confusing. And we thought about you the
(34:10):
entire time, Truckers. We wanted to be interesting. Yeah, so
we said give us interviews and they said they haven't
said yet.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
We were at the pool yesterday and ran into the
guy that I assistant coach with for my middle child's
baseball game.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
How's it going?
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Bro, Hey, what's up homie?
Speaker 1 (34:28):
How you been man? How you congrass his green right?
How you've been another to day? Another dollar? Hey been man?
Hy summer Sundays?
Speaker 2 (34:36):
Hey man?
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Late days? What's up? Bro? Hey? What's up? Man?
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Broh uh?
Speaker 3 (34:42):
And he was like we're talking, like, oh, what's going on?
He's like, Oh, we're going this. I was like, you
guys busy this week? It was actually we got a babysitter.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
We're going to some Folds of Honor softball game.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
So I was like I'll be there and he goes,
no way, but I'm not playing.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
He goes, really, what team are you? And I was like, no, no,
I'll be doing a podcast out in right field. And
he goes, what do you mean.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
I was like, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
They said we're not gonna play in it, but they're
gonna put us in right field to do the podcast.
He goes, that's cool, man. We're gonna be up in
a suite. My wife's old co worker got a sweet
and he invited us. We're like, oh, why not night
out without the kids? That'd be kind of fun. He goes,
who's all playing? I was like the rocket and Cutler
and I don't know who else. He said, Oh, that's cool.
(35:25):
And then we're sitting at the pool and all of
a sudden thunder again. That was two days in a
row with thunder, dude. I mean, I thought we eliminated
the thunder from our life on Saturday, but no, on Sunday.
Came back to the pool later in the day. Later
in the day, dude, and then he was like, well,
(35:46):
I guess we better get out of you guys want
to come over for dinner. And went over there and
grilled out. He had a he had an umbrella above
his grill and grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and some pork
chops and we ate Blake. Do you ever do that? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Yeah, he goes, you guys have had us over, like,
you know, ten times.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Do you ever grill?
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Yeah? Very rarely.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
I was gonna say very rare. So that's pretty nice
that dude to do that. Yeah, he's gonna just grill
eight burgers.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
And he did hot dogs and some pork chops, missiles,
and we did some asparagus. We did a salad, fruit, strawberries, raspberries, grapes,
and I mean it was a great night.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
That's what I'm gonna look forward to. You always got
to find something to look forward to, because is it
great to go out after six my bedtime and with
no real idea of how successful something's going to be.
Not really in traffic and parking and fighting traffic. That's
always fun. But I'm going to look forward to Hopefully
they're going to bring us free missiles beers. We got
(36:46):
top and they're like, hey, talk about this food, and
then maybe people will be more inclined to come to
a Sounds game because we talked about how great the
ice cream of the future is. Dots.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
Oh dude, let me tell you, go to any sporting event.
Ice cream in the future has the longest line you'll
ever see.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
They bring us a couple of those Jack Daniels slushies
from rightfield, right field, the bandbox or what are the
batter's box? Around ten minutes into the pod right right,
I got a question, plot twist, we get kicked out?
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Hey got an email here?
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Yeah, coachers Cody from Texas, Here go, Spurs go.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Do you believe in miracle?
Speaker 1 (37:34):
It's not a miracle, man, We're really good.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Marcus Sears and Okac have fun and can coun coachers
final predition for the Finals, Who wins and how many
games go? Spurs go Cody from Texas, I go Spurs
and six.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
I got Spurs and five Spurs and five.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
I mean the plot twist, Nicks win the first game.
I don't even know where it's at.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
It Santonio. That place is going to be Rocket. And
here's what's crazy, man. There's this girl lived down the
street from me growing up. She played softball with my sister.
She was the pitcher. And I see her post on
Facebook page, you know, her Facebook, and she's out there
celebrating honking the horn. And I make a comment and
(38:23):
she goes, oh my gosh, I can't wait for Wednesday night.
I'm like, you're going. She goes, yeah, we have season tickets.
I'm like, excuse me. She goes, yeah, when they were
really bad, we bit the bullet and we were going
to games anyway, and we looked at each other and
said we might as well get season tickets. And all
the losing years has paid off because now we're in
the NBA Finals. And she said, our season tickets could
(38:45):
be paid off. The tickets to the finals one game
is more expensive than the whole season.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
So they can make twenty grand.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
Yeah, damn, I mean that's all I got, dude, I
don't know why I was. You want to talk them out?
Speaker 1 (39:00):
I gotta get going.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
If anybody's coming to the Folds of Honor tonight, hit
us up. We are the sore losers at gmail dot com.
If anybody knows where that bitch is on Facebook, let
me know. Hey, chet Holmgren, if you guys are still
hanging out together.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Let me know.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Well, Hey, Wednesday is gonna be the audio of us
at the softball game, broadcasting and interviewing people. Hopefully, why
would it not be? Well, we got what if it's
not good, it will be Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Go Spurs, go Ray.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Do you want the water boy? I was able to
get him. Hey, guys, do you want me to line
up some guests? I got us a couple other girls,
oh man.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
And then I had to call batter's box after the game,
and I called, you know, Garrett. I mean, I was
just I called my dad, just texting people like, how
about them Spurs?
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Just feeling so good?
Speaker 3 (39:50):
And I got a text from my buddy yesterday that
doesn't even you know, he's not even a Spurs fan.
He was just like, dude, the Spurs looked good. Congrats man.
And then I got a text from my buddy John,
who's an Arsenal fan on Saturday night and goes enjoy it. Ah.
I didn't even have the heart to hit him back
and be like, sorry about your loss with Arsenal in
the Champions League. I didn't say it. I was just
celebrating the moment. I said, man, it feels so good.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
But Arsenal won the Premier League yea, but they didn't.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Win the Champions League.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
So confusing.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
And then they had their their parade for the Premier
League the day after they lost the Champions League.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
Pretty awkward.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Did you see also that game? Was that game on Sunday?
No Saturday, Saturday? But did you see some of the
cable providers in Italy and over there? And whatever country
you were in? What country?
Speaker 2 (40:34):
I don't know what country they were?
Speaker 1 (40:35):
What country you under? All the soccer teams are?
Speaker 2 (40:37):
I was in England England?
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Okay, so all the England in England? So what what
is UEFA? It's the Champions League. I don't know where
they played the Championship okay, but what country is that?
Speaker 2 (40:49):
It's all of Europe?
Speaker 1 (40:50):
Okay, so in Europe somewhere.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
Yes, I don't know where.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
The championship game was played in Europe. Some of the
TVs went out during that. I saw that like the
worst time to go out.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
The dude said, lining up, he's the fifth kicker for Arsenal,
and it just goes out.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
So and then I think they saw on their phone
and then they're able to late cheers.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
Hilarious, hilarious. All right, man, have a great Monday. This
may have been our worst pod, but man, it felt good.
It just feels good for the Spurs to be back
like where they belong. And Steph Castle, dude, you are
a man. You got the crap beat out of you,
and I mean you just took it. You kept going
and kept going, and you led us to the champ
You led us to the NBA Finals and everybody said, oh,
(41:30):
the Spurs celebrating like they won it all man, they
beat the defending champs. That was a knockout, knockdown, drag
out fight for seven games. And when you beat the champ,
it's worth celebrating. You got over that hump. It was
such a great year and we got.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Four more to go.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
I'm not part of the promotions team pr of the Spurs.
One of the games in San Antonio. You put Pop
on the bench. That would be crazy, but dude, no,
