Man who removed Transmission Gully protesters chats with Nick Mills - Wellington Mornings with Nick Mills

The actions of a man who tried to stop protesters blocking Transmission Gully are being applauded.

The group Restore Passenger Rail have stopped peak hour traffic in Wellington five times in the last two weeks.

That includes yesterday when they stopped all southbound lanes of Transmission Gully.

A video has since emerged of a driver getting into one of the protester's vehicles and momentarily unblocking the road.

The motorist Wayne Hirst told Nick Mills most people support what he did.
