Plans to remove cars from the Golden Mile may be overshadowing the Black Friday buzz for central Wellington retailers.
Today marks one of the busiest shopping days of the year but Retail NZ says for those operating in Wellington's CBD there's a sense of gloom.
Retail NZ Chief Executive Greg Harford says its partly because there's less foot traffic in general, but the Let's Get Wellington Moving project also has everyone on edge.
