A Christchurch hairdressing has given gendered pricing the chop.
Women often pay more to have their hair styled, and RU&CO hair salon said the decision fits with their inclusive values.
"We feel the old way isn't fair anymore. Why should women pay more for the same service as a male?" RU&CO hair salon's Jordan James told Newstalk ZB.
But a Wellington hair salon, Calibre Salon, says pricing is not based on gender, but rather time spent with the client.
Salon owner Craig Stinson told Wellington Morning's host Nick Mills "with a woman you generally spend more time on them."
