And at first I thought it was most annoying jingle
on the planet too, by the way, but now I

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I feel like I need to issue an apology to
my mother in law because I straight up traumatized her
when I took Bowen, our seven month old, swimming the
other day.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Oh no, oh no. So let me.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Preface all of this by saying, I'm very very careful.
I've educated myself. I've been like helping him develop swimming
skills basically since he was born.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, of course, just let's just start.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I can't swim, but so so when I'm giving a bath,
for example, ever since he was born, I'll like practice
pouring water over his face and submerging him, Like can
you kind of like submerge him in the water a
little bit and you get him used to it. And
so I took him into the pool for the first
time a couple of days ago, and he said to

my mother we were because I had already done it
with him. I was like, hey, look, we're gonna dunk
him in the water. And she just figured. I don't
know what she figured, because she's already in the water,
but I had him and I just kind of like sideways,
just kind of dunked his face under the water for
a second, brought him back up totally fine, and he's
so cool with it. He actually really really loves the water,
loves the pool and likes being in the water like that,

doesn't freak out about water on his face or going underwater.
She looked at me like I had just tried to
drown her grandchild in front of her.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Did she sprang off her seat and just lungch for
you and grabbed the child and give you the heisman?

That she was taking pictures because she's just like, oh,
they're just playing in the water, la, And her face
was just total shock. I wish that i'd had a
camera pose. No, not at all. I thought that she
knew what we were doing because we had told her, yeah,
we've dunked him in the water and he really likes it.
And I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Did she did she say anything, Well, she said she
was shocked. Did she do anything any colorful metaphors.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Like no, but her face was so priceless, so funny.
But I'm just trying to help him develop swim skills,
and it's working because.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
He loves the water. He even loves the pool, even
as a little baby. I don't know how old I was.
I kind of remember it though I was really young.
I was still in diapers. I think my grandpa just
grabbed me by the wrist and just chucked me. Yeah, baby,
right up. Just remember like having that chlorine smell, which

I actually kind of liked. That's clean, that's good. That's
one way to learn how to swim. Yeah, just at
him like you a whole.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Well, I'm not doing that with my baby. But have
you seen the videos?

Speaker 1 (02:50):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Have you seen those videos where people do chuck babies
into the water, but they know what to do and
they just turn up and back float. Those babies have
worked on their swimming skills.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah, you don't just do that. No, yeah, don't just
do that. It's tell all the young mothers up now.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Hey, look, no, there's a lot of training and practice
things that lead up to that.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Don't introduce your child to bathing practices outside of the
big island in Lake Minto. That's the worst place, or
really any metro lake right now, because they've all got.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Because apparently none of you can make it to a bathroom,
You'll got to do it in the lake.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
People keep it in the pool, I mean keep it.
Don't keep your babies in the pus.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
If you ever get a pool, I'm not coming and
swimming in it.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
You'll never have to worry about that. I will never
ever ever own a pool. My neighbors have a pool,
looks like hell, you know me too much work. Use
it as a toilet. Don't tell them that on the air.
