A scrappy second half has almost cost the All Blacks dearly in their 31-28 victory over Australia in Sydney.

New Zealand shot out the gates with three unanswered tries, before leading 28-14 at the break.

The All Blacks could only muster a sole penalty goal in the second half and the task was made harder with yellow cards to Anton Lienert-Brown and Caleb Clarke in quick succession.

Australia pushed hard with two late tries, before the All Blacks hung on to retain the Bledisloe Cup.
