The Black Ferns have been upset 29-27 by Ireland in their opening WXV1 encounter in Vancouver.

A 79th-minute try and conversion bouncing over off the upright has seen the underdogs repeat their heroics from the 2014 World Cup.

Ireland scored five tries to New Zealand's three and overcame a second half yellow card to prop Niamh  O'Dowd.
