Welcome to Wednesday, July eighth. We have been listening to
President Trump giving his I guess you could say departure
speech you will. He's about to wrap up a couple
days of meetings with other NATO members and had said
that they've come to an agreement, among other things, for
those NATO members to reach a threshold of at least

five percent of their GDP when it comes to defense spending,
so that the United States is not carrying the burden
for all of them. He hasn't yet started taking questions.
That's going to be probably the bigger issue because of
some comments that he made earlier today that the ceasefire,
in his mind, the ceasefire with Iran is over. He

said that the Iranian leadership is scum and you can't
believe a word that they say. So we did hit,
according to Sentcom, about eighty targets overnight because the Iranians
fired on three different vessels through the Strait of Horror moves.
And then Iran said that they're going to retaliate, and
the President came back and said, well, we could take
carg Island if we wanted to, and there's nothing you

could do about it.

The Secretary General of NATO, by the way, Mark Root,
said America's strikes were absolutely necessary, so seem to have
the backing of NATO in that. He went on to say,
when you have a ceasefire and Iran is basically violating

Totally crucial that the US forcefully reacts. Energy stocks have
arisen as well. Shares of Conico, Phillips Chevron gained two

President Trump. The other one was that Italian Prime Minister
Georgia Maloney ignored President Trump while they were at the

allow the US military to use Italian bases during this
war with Iran, also allegedly furious after Trump claimed that
she begged him for a photo at the G seven summit.

President Trump also did lash out at Spain earlier today.
He said that they are not contributing what they need

was an LAPD helicopter who was there to help watch
over things hit by a drone from some complete fing moron,
so the helicopter had to make an emergency landing at
the Van Eys Airport out of a just complete exercise
of caution fire itself again only about eight acres. Nobody
was hurt in the LAPD helicopter, but it could have

been much worse.

come out and denounced him, calling for him to drop

out of the main Senate race. But according to the
Main Democratic Party executive director, they said, unfortunately, Grand Platner's
team has repeatedly reached out to us in an attempt
to put their thumb on the scale of what the
process looks like. We have repeatedly reiterated to grand Platner's
team that they have no role in determining our next
Democratic nominee for the US Senate, nor in determining what

the process looks like. Interesting, so apparently I mean, I'm
trying to read between.

Grand Platner was able to score a bunch of money
and influence, and where the money goes, the team goes.

Javier Bessera. So there is some sort of negotiations that
go on with the team and the money having a
role in this process of determining who the candidate will be. Sure,
I mean, it's almost like the Democratic Party in Mainz

We're the main Democratic party.

We get to decide whereas the money and the team
that is the winning team behind the scenes, they get
to decide who the candidate is. It's very weedy.

with this far left aspect of the party. Democratic socialists
that have been so popular that are steering this thing

These fights are on the one hand, as long as

a reconfiguring of leadership there in the Republican Party, and

stronger on the other side of it.

Plattner has until July thirteen to drop out in order
for the party to select a new nominee. The state
party there said it's working through what that process would
look like, but it won't make it public until he
formally steps aside.

of potential replacements for this guy. They know, they know, Yeah,

Senate Maine is key to that effort. President Trump lost

Axios this morning that suggests the Republican Party there in
Maine and generally knows how important that is. The Congressional

because they want to steer the conversation before this person
gets to introduce themselves. Republicans want to go let me

was a CNN analyst, also says he spoke to the

Now this story out of the Supreme Court yesterday, they
declined to block a Texas law that's going to go
into effects soon that would require app stores think Google Play,
Apple App Store, et cetera, to verify a user age
with a system of parental consent if there's somebody under
the age of eighteen. This was a unanimous or at

least no judge expressed any dissent. So they're talking about
this Texas law that could be enforced similar to a
law in Ohio that says that social media sites cannot
serve users under the age of sixteen without first getting
parental consent. A district court had said that was unconstitutional.
The Sixth Circuit disagreed. The ruling is split, but the

lead opinion applies strict judicial scrutiny. It argued that Ohio's
demand for parental consent passes the test. So here we
are similar to what we've seen in Australia and in
the UK, where they have outright banned social media for
anybody under the age of sixteen and it doesn't work.

Would absolutely support a law like this, but regardless of
what the law says, it's so much more incumbent upon
what the parents do than what the app store is
requiring of a kid to prove their age, etc.

It is getting ugly. In Maine, there is a succession
fight under way. Bernie Sanders has now entered the fray,
calling for Graham Platner to drop out of that main
Senate race. Did the Democrats wait too long to abandon
this ship that was going down weeks months ago? This morning,

the main Democratic party calling out Graham Platner's team for
pushing to influence the process to replace him. He hasn't
even withdrawn yet. We'll talk about what this means when

Volcano fire that broke out in Riverside County and the
La Cresta area yesterday did not expand as quickly as
was feared. About one hundred and thirty eight acres is
the latest number, forty five percent containment. There was also
a fire that broke out near Encino. There was about
eight acres and while that was going on yesterday, there

was an LAPD helicopter who was there to help watch
over things hit by a drone from some complete fing moron,
so the helicopter had to make an emergency landing at
the Van Eys Airport out of a just complete exercise
of caution fire itself again only about eight acres. Nobody
was hurt in the LAPD helicopter, but it could have

been much worse.

Sho Hey A Tani with his a three hundredth career
home run last night, but who stole the show. Two
tiny trash pandas, two little baby pandas have gone viral
after there. Excuse me, pandas, that would be weird, that

Panda's just turned up in the outfield. But no, these
were raccoons. They were caught on camera roaming underneath the

raccoons in my home. You do not want them as pets.

are getting in the muck of everything. They're calling out
Grand Platner's team for pushing to influence the process to
replace him. By the way, grand Platner has not withdrawn. Finally,
Bernie Sanders, who crowned this guy the Second Coming, has
come out and denounced him, calling for him to drop

out of the main Senate race. But according to the
Main Democratic Party executive director, they said, unfortunately, Grand Platner's
team has repeatedly reached out to us in an attempt
to put their thumb on the scale of what the
process looks like. We have repeatedly reiterated to grand Platner's
team that they have no role in determining our next
Democratic nominee for the US Senate, nor in determining what

the process looks like. Interesting, so apparently I mean, I'm
trying to read between.

Grand Platner was able to score a bunch of money
and influence, and where the money goes, the team goes.
We've learned that countless times. You know where Eric Swalwell's
what he got in trouble for rape or allegations allegations
of not playing well with others i e. Women, his

all of his money and his team lid over to
Javier Bessera. So there is some sort of negotiations that
go on with the team and the money having a
role in this process of determining who the candidate will be. Sure,
I mean, it's almost like the Democratic Party in Mainz

trying to fight and stay relevant.

We're the main Democratic party.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
We get to decide whereas the money and the team
that is the winning team behind the scenes, they get
to decide who the candidate is. It's very weedy.

Yeah, it's also one of those It's another example of
a problem with the Democratic Party right now. They're dealing
with this far left aspect of the party. Democratic socialists
that have been so popular that are steering this thing
to the left and mainstream Democratic Party operatives slash stallwarts

that have been there and are saying, we're losing our party.
We got to make sure we can control what's going on.
These fights are on the one hand, as long as
it doesn't destroy the party, it can be a good thing.
You can strengthen a political party by having some dissent
within there. We saw that with the Republican Party, with
the Tea Party movement, where there was a push to

move it to the right. There was a sort of
a reconfiguring of leadership there in the Republican Party, and
it came out at you could argue it came out
stronger on the other side of it.

Plattner has until July thirteen to drop out in order
for the party to select a new nominee. The state
party there said it's working through what that process would
look like, but it won't make it public until he
formally steps aside.

They know exactly what they're going to do.

Yeah, I've seen at least two or three different lists
of potential replacements for this guy. They know, they know, Yeah,
he's got to withdraw by Monday.

The stakes are very high for Democrats. The party needs
a net total of four seats to win back the
Senate Maine is key to that effort. President Trump lost
the state in twenty twenty four. Parties believe Susan Collins
could be vulnerable in the year where the Republicans are
facing some headwinds politically.

There's another report as well, I think it was from
Axios this morning that suggests the Republican Party there in
Maine and generally knows how important that is. The Congressional
Campaign Committee for Republicans know how important this race in
Maine is. They're putting millions of dollars already behind an

ad campaign for whoever takes over for Grant Platnir exactly
because they want to steer the conversation before this person
gets to introduce themselves. Republicans want to go let me
tell you about Susie McGillicutty.

It's just interesting to watch the whole power struggle. Is
that the Democratic Party leadership, you know, the DNC of
Maine that has the control or is it just the
people writing the checks and who do they want so
we'll see.

Supreme Court decision where they declined to block a Texas law.
Texas is going to require app stores to verify user ages.

It's so cute when people think parental controls work.

know that it is not going to happen the way
they think it's going to happen.

It's almost like they're saying, Okay, well, look we're doing something. Yes,
we're taking money from all these tech companies, but we're

The governor of Kentucky has now sent a letter to
Mitch McConnell's office demanding an update. Three weeks ago, McConnell
went to the hospital and they have been weekend at
Bernie's Island about this whole thing.

So this this has echoes of people claiming that Joe
Biden was on top of it behind closed doors. If
you remember, the Senate's top two Republicans, both John Thune
of South Dakota, the leader, and John Barasso of Wyoming,
the number two center Republican, each said they've had phone

calls with McConnell and that they were substantive and they
talked about current events like ram Plattner. Scott Jennings, who
was a CNN analyst, also says he spoke to the
Senator yesterday morning for just about twenty minutes. So, but
the there was a meme this morning of a Mitch
McConnell lookalike dancing the thriller Dance like a zombie. A

quick update on the president. He has wrapped up his
comments there in anchor, A Turkey referred to the Iranian
leadership as a little bit coco, a little bit loco.

press conference about the Iranian regime, why the ceasefire is
over and what's going on?

So the president was asked then later in this news conference,
he just wrapped up, why did you call them scum?

Now when you say rational, I think they're much more
rational than level one, level two. Level one is gone,
Level two is gone. This is level three. I think
they are more rational, But based on their actions over
the last week or two, they're not doing a service

So that explains it.

Now this story out of the Supreme Court yesterday, they
declined to block a Texas law that's going to go
into effects soon that would require app stores think Google Play,
Apple App Store, et cetera, to verify a user age
with a system of parental consent if there's somebody under
the age of eighteen. This was a unanimous or at
(17:28):
least no judge expressed any dissent. So they're talking about
this Texas law that could be enforced similar to a
law in Ohio that says that social media sites cannot
serve users under the age of sixteen without first getting
parental consent. A district court had said that was unconstitutional.
The Sixth Circuit disagreed. The ruling is split, but the
(17:52):
lead opinion applies strict judicial scrutiny. It argued that Ohio's
demand for parental consent passes the test. So here we
are similar to what we've seen in Australia and in
the UK, where they have outright banned social media for
anybody under the age of sixteen and it doesn't work.

Now again, I.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Would absolutely support a law like this, but regardless of
what the law says, it's so much more incumbent upon
what the parents do than what the app store is
requiring of a kid to prove their age, etc.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
They're going to get around that. They're going to get
around it.

They've done it in Australia, they'll do it in the UK,
they'll do it in Texas when it happens.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Kids know how to work this stuff better than you do.
It's the way every technology has worked since the dawn
of time. For whatever reason, kids are more app to
pick it up. Their brains are more sponge like, what
have you. It's more intuitive for kids. I don't think

of I don't know. I don't want to age anybody,
but every new technology kids know it better than adults.
And phones especially, I mean, especially when you grew up
using them. That's getting getting around parental controls is as easy.

As they've never known a world without them, So it's
a weird thing for us to even try to impose
some sort of reality on them, Like, hey, there used
to be a time when you had to call your
friend and you weren't sure if they were home, or
you had to actually go through a gatekeeper, and when
Suzanne's dad answered the phone, you had to, through your

crackly pubescent voice, ask if you could talk to his daughter.

I love playing catch up with this, whether it be
the state laws, federal laws, the courts, what have you.
But the fact of the matter is the toothbase is
out of the tube, the heroine is out of the baggie.
The addictions have been firmly planted in all of these
young mons, but they're there. They're living their life, and
