Speaker 1 (00:22):
Okay if I am six forties later with mo Kelly.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
We live on YouTube, Instagram and the iHeartRadio app and Facebook.
Just want to let you know we are monitoring the
multiple fires which are growing in many cases around southern California. Specifically,
we're looking at the Juniper Fire, which started around eleven
thirty am yesterday and then it had grown to about

(00:46):
six hundred and eighty nine acres. I know Mark Ronnerd
will have the latest statistics as we go throughout this evening,
but most importantly, I want to make sure that you
are aware of the evacuation orders for that Riverside County
fire RVC DASH fifty nine north of Rocky Hills, west
of Forest Road, east of Alneto Road, and south of

(01:08):
Orange Avenue. Those are lawful orders to evacuate immediately. There
are also some evacuation warnings, and yes they are officially warnings,
but it's most important that you, I always say, look
upon them as mandatory, don't wait for them to turn
into a mandatory evacuation order. But they are RVC DASH

(01:29):
ten sixty, RVC DASH eleven seventy, RVC DASH eleven seventy two,
eleven seventy three, twelve seventy three A and B north
of Eucalyptus, west of Highway seventy four, east of Post Road,
and south of Ellis Avenue. The order at this point

(01:50):
is it's a warning, not an order, but I would
recommend that you treat them as a mandatory evacuation order.
If we learned anything from the fires back in jennywhere
is that the situation can change almost immediately and suddenly,
and you don't want to be caught in a situation
where you're not prepared to leave at a moment's notice.
A care and reception center has been established at Citrus

(02:14):
Hill High School, which is one eight one five zero
Wood Road in Paris for evacuees if you should be
in need of shelter and or assistance.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
And at this point that's most of the information we have.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Unless Mark Ronner, good even Mark Runner, you have anything
to add at this time, I know you'll be updating
us to night goes on.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
I just did a rundown of all the major fires
in the news at the top of the hour, and
I'll be updating it throughout the evening.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
All right, then we'll continue to monitor this. The KFI
twenty four hour newsroom is on top of it. Just
want to let you know that it's fourth of July week,
getting excited. Almost time for Chateau Lemo. We're going to
have the whole game together. Well except for Mark Runner.
He doesn't like people. Are you gonna have a keger? Dude,

(03:01):
There's gonna be enough alcohol there, But I won't have
any before I go on air, of course not.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
You would never do that. Actually I would not. I
would not ever do that. No, the FCC and all that,
well that too. But I'm just saying me personally. Let
me say this in my long and uh, how should
I say this? I want to be very careful.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
There have been people over the years in this business
who do im vibe and get on the air.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Yeah, I'm just not one of them. Yeah, okay, let
me just leave it at that.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I've been thinking all day for some reason about there
was some woman on Fox or CNN or something. She
got on for a guest hit and was absolutely blotto
a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Did you see this?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
No?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
I did not, But it's a very common occurrence.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
People would be amazed at how often people are under
the influence of something and doing broadcast work.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah, TV definitely, you've heard all the stories.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
I'm not going to call any names, no, but it's
hilarious when you and it's just really obvious that they're loaded.
There was one time there was a former I don't
want to say what team they played for, but you
know what my favorite team is, all right, and this
was a former player for that team well known. I
was watching he does television commentary for a news network.

(04:18):
I'm not going to name it, but it was clear
that he was high on some sort of drugs and
I was working here at the time, and I'm thinking, like,
someone needs to pull him off the air, so I
can't be the only one seeing that this person is
not able to focus on the camera, just drifting off
in his comments.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
It was clear that he was high.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Not drunk high, oh yeah, not marijuana high, but cocai nice.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
I'm a big fan of TV imbibing because it's just hilarious.
And if you like that kind of thing, look at
old episodes of Match Game, because those guys got lickered
up and they they drank throughout the day of taping.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Every night they were drunk, and it seems like maybe
that was the joke. Yeah, because everyone knew that Charles
Nelson Riley was.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Blitzed.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Okay, well it was kind of a crap shoot. So
I think I think Slappy White, or I think it
was slappy I can't. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong
about this. But was nearly incoherent loaded, and you know,
Dawson got belligerent now and then. I just love that stuff.
It's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
I'm trying to think who else was it? Fanny Flag,
she was on there.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Sometimes I'm trying to think who else was Who am
I missing from that match game?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
I don't remember seeing Gene Rayburn drunk.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
No, No, he wanted to run a tight ship, but
it always got out of his control. Brett Summers, she
was just kind of mean all the time. I don't
know if she had to be drunk to be mean.
I know, did Paul Lynn do Match Game? Wasn't just
fellow with squares? Mostly squares?

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah? I never saw him on match Game?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Okay, after a point they all run together as far
as But did you see they're doing an update? Match
Game is coming out in a few months. I thought
Alec Baldwin had done no, no, no, no, another one. I
have to look it up real quick. But yeah, a
new version of Match Game. Oh nobody called me to
host it. Thanks July twenty third, next month. Who's going

(06:16):
to be the host? Martin Short will be the new host.
Oh he's funny. That should be fun replacing Alec Baldwin. Yeah, okay,
and yeah, celebrity panelists. I hope they do it in
the spirit of Gene Rayburn. It's nice that they're bringing
all these game shows back, but it has to be
done in the original spirit or it's not going to
feel the same.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
It's not going to mean anything.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
And if you're not old enough to remember, especially in
the nineteen seventies, game shows were our reality television. It
was the live, unscripted Richard Dawson kissing everybody. A lot
of strange things were happening back then.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Oh yeah, Gene always made a point of putting his
hand around the waist on the hip of whatever hot
female contestant was played.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I always say go back and watch these old episodes
because you can see how much the world has changed.
The things that were going on that would just not
go on today. Even Gene Rayburn's microphone I don't think
would be allowed today.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
It was sort of implicitly dirty, wasn't it, Because why
would you need.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
One that long? You explain that.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
You wouldn't, but the whole shape of the microphone just
seems strange. The technology was such you didn't need a
two foot long microphone.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
It was distracting. You don't.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
You don't bring out a microphone that that long if
you don't want people to notice it wasn't Bob Barker's
like he had a big mic too, didn't he?

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Hey, Hey, hey, that's that's his business. Why you gotta
get personal? I missed Bob. Everybody loved Bob. All this
stuff we're gonna be talking about tonight.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
And speaking of locker room talk, wink wink, I got
a message from someone and if you want to reach
out to the show later with Moke Kelly at gmail
dot com from a listener, I should say, a former
listener now.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
She said she's sworn us off.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Her name is Joanne, and I told her to listen
tonight because my final thought is going to be about
her and her email. But Joanne has taken issue with
us in our locker room talk. She finds it disgusting
and she's particularly mad at Tula is something that he
said and got everything else wrong as far as what
she thought that we said absolutely all of it. But

(08:26):
she did say something which was important. She was commenting
about my view on immigration and illegal immigration, and I'm
going to use that as a jumping off point for
my final remarks tonight. Yes, there's plenty going on with
the raids and also the cancelation of Fourth of July celebrations,

(08:48):
so I definitely want to touch upon that before the
end of the hour. There's so much to discuss. Let's
get to it. It's Later with mo Kelly KFI AM
six forty. We're live everywhere in the iHeartRadio app and
YouTube and Facebook. And are we doing Instagram tonight, Carnesia, Okay,
we're doing Instagram as well.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
You're listening to Later with Moe Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty when moo Kelly one KAY.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Six live everywhere on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and the iHeartRadio app.
And let me just say up front, you couldn't pay
me to travel this week slash weekend. When I saw
on the calendar that the fourth of July was going
to be on a Friday, I'm thinking, like I don't
know if it could be any better for a Fourth

(09:38):
of July party, And I don't know if it could
be any worse for travel this weekend.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
And yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Know you want to see your mother, you want to
see your friends, you want to go on like a
summer vacation, But this is the weekend that you shouldn't
be choosing. More than eighteen point five million people are
expected to flow this week. You couldn't pay me to
be a part of this madness. And that's saying nothing

(10:06):
of real ID. I don't know if everyone's even gotten
their real ID yet. Stefan, you got your real ID?

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Right?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Do?

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Okay? Mark? I think he does not? No, I think
I do it. Doesn't it have the little bear? And
that's the bear?

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Some? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I have it all.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Right, all right, I've had mine since COVID. That's how
far ahead of the game I was. But here's the thing.
Only ninety four percent of people have it from estimates
so far of people traveling across the country, So not
everyone has it, and everyone who does not have it,
they expect to be really locking down on this. And

(10:38):
if you don't have your real idea you could really
mess up your plans.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Now.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Of course, if you don't have real idea, if you
should have some other acceptable form of ID, like your
passport or passport card, you should be fine. But nearly
three point one million travelers were screened a Sunday week
ago on June twenty second. In other words, this is
just to ramp up as we get closer and closer

(11:03):
to the fourth of July. So you're gonna have to
plan in advance. It's going to be busy. It's going
to be a real drag. As far as standing in
those lines. I always say, get there two three hours
in advance. And I you know, most people laugh at
me because when I'm flying, if my flight is at
two o'clock and I only live ten minutes from Lax,

(11:27):
I will be at the airport two hours in advance,
Because don't you shake your head.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
At me, Mark Ronnert, No, it's just such a nightmare.
I would do anything to avoid flying. Now, I'm actually
not mocking you for once.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
For once, yeah, once, every other time I should assume
you're mocking.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
No, it's just a healthscape. And flying didn't used to
be this awful.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
It's awful in the sense of it's stressful, Like I'm
not a nervous flyer, but I don't like to fly,
so I'm already not in a good place. And then
I have to get to the airport two hours in
advance and all the preparation just to make sure that
I have everything so I can walk out the door
and get to the airport in adequate time. And then
you have to go through the screening. You have to
go through security, and that's assuming like I have what's

(12:13):
it called, not clear, but the TSA PreCheck TSA pre check,
but it's not always open, it's not always available, so
you might have to just go through the general line
and that could easily take thirty to forty five minutes,
depending on how many lines they have open. It is
really a chore, and that for me is all the

(12:35):
deterrent I need to not actually fly anywhere. If I
could go somewhere, and yes, I'm always doing shat totally
mo July fourth, but I'm saying if I were to
go somewhere, I would rather not fly, if only because
I could avoid all this and then just maybe drive somewhere,
maybe just take the train somewhere. We've talked about Amtrak.

(12:56):
That's the way the travel in a relaxed fashion. Know
that it wasn't always available to pre check. It isn't
for some reason weird and especially the time of day.
If you should go like towards a red eye time,
there may not be a TSA pre check open. I
don't know why that is, because you pay good money
for it. Yeah, but it's not always open.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Odd. It's more than odd.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
It's a pain in the ass because if I'm getting there,
let's say, under two hours or within two hours before
the flight, and there is no TSA pre check, that
can really, you know, make things a little bit tighter
than I want.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
I've never missed a flight. I can say this.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I've never missed a flight as of yet. But I
don't want to be in the situation where I have
to rush. I don't want to have to be in
the situation. And I'm one of those people who tries
to fly with as little baggage as possible. I travel
lights because if I can fit it all in a
backpack and some other carry on, that's the way I'm traveling.
And the only time I don't travel that way is

(13:57):
if I'm going on a vacation, vacation, going on a
cruise or something.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
I can't fit it all on my backpack. You'll learn
the hard way.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Never ever travel with more than you can carry comfortably
for a whole day.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Not only that. Here's my thing.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
When if I'm traveling, let's say for a week or so,
I intentionally always take clothes that I'm not intending to
bring back with me.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
What do you mean you just set them on fire
before you get on the plane. No, you just throw
them away. You're making room for whatever you buy. What
are you the jackal?

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Now?

Speaker 1 (14:26):
What is it that's weird? You've never done that? No? Please, okay,
I cannot be the only one.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Let's say you're going on a cruise for a week
and you're packing like a week's worth of clothes, but
you want to be as economical and space conscious as possible.
I will use old clothes that I haven't worn in
a long time, or I don't plan to wear again.
I'll wear it and then I'll just throw it away

(14:54):
because I'm not planning to put it back, especially dirty
clothes in a suitcase, and it's taking up room. If
I'm trying to buy souvenirs, well, between that and the
TSA pre check. Aren't you the player? I'm being serious.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
No one else has thought of doing that. That's insane.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
The ghost of my grandparents would would haunt me if
they saw me throwing away perfectly good clothes just to
make it easier.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
To you're telling me you don't have clothes that you
almost never wear just sitting in your closet forever. I might,
but those are that's the point. Yeah, but I save
those were like the ones with holes in and nuts,
like my PJ shirt.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
That's my point.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
But you're walking around. I'm on vacation. I'm not trying
to impress anybody. Dog, Okay, I'm not like taking a
suit man. I'm not going to the captain's dinner on
the cruise. You know, for the most part, I don't
wear T shirts. I wear nothing but T shirts when
I'm on vacation, and I usually dispose of them afterward.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
I'm sorry, that's weird. That's a new one for me. Yeah,
I can't be the only one that No, that's not weird.
It's economical. It's wasteful.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
How is it wasteful if it's something that I'm not
going to be using anymore.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
I think it's the act of you throwing the clothes away. Now,
if you said you were bringing it to like a
good will or something, you know, donating, maybe, but.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
You no, I've done. Yes, you don't throw away any
of your clothes. You donated them all.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
The good will unless it's but okay, maybe yo. But
if it's not wearable, like if somebody else can't wear it,
then you know, get thrown away.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
But are you using acid to burn off your fingerprints
while you're at it?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
No, I'm just saying, instead of doing laundry and having to,
I vacuum seal all my clothes when I'm traveling, So
I have like a pump that it creates a vacuum.
It takes out all the air so it's easier to
pack in a tighter space.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Did the TSA people interrogate you about the pump.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
No, they've seen enough of them by now because it's
a pretty I'm a thing that people use in their traveling. Okay,
all right, But anyhow, you know, I take a lot
of clothes and then as I go through the week
in the trip, I don't throw them all away, but
I throw enough of them away because I'm buying souvenirs,
buying gifts where I have room now. My wife, on
the other hand, she'll buy a damn new suitcase.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Out there every time, or most of the time.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Most of the time, Aaron Eaton says, when I travel,
When I travel, it's a fresh new brand pair of
hanging socks and underwares that I travel with. They stay,
and I just buy new ones when I get back.
So Erin's with you.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Thank you, thank you, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
It's lettered with mokel a ca if I Am since
forty live everywhere on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and the iHeartRadio Apple.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
When we come back, we have to change direction.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
We got to talk about some of these immigration raids
and how they have maybe indirectly forced the cancelation of
a number of Fourth of July festivities here in LA.
We talked about this last week and I remember saying
I expected there to be more. There are more now
and the list is growing by the day.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
You're listening to Later with mo Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Forty KFI mo Kelly Live everywhere on social media and
the iHeartRadio app, and you're hearing more and more about
Fourth of July celebrations being canceled. I first broached the
subject last week and I heard from some people in

(18:32):
the chat the mo Migos were chatting in Motown. It's
on the YouTube show, and they were largely, I don't
remember the exact number, but they were largely of the
opinion that these cities should not should not cancel their
Fourth of July celebrations. And I was vehemently against that,
if only because I think about this from a municipality sense,

(18:57):
about I think about it from a liability sense and all.
Although we all would like to have a safe and
enjoyable Fourth of July celebration, in fact, most people look
forward to the Fourth of July just to be.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Around friends, family, what have you.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
That's not something you would be able to guarantee this
particular Fourth of July. And the last thing you want
is a situation where you have, let's be honest now,
violent apprehensions and detainments of young people, parents and or
their children, and how that could escalate and spiral out

(19:37):
of control. This is not necessarily about immigration, legal versus
illegal immigration, and I'll talk about this more at the
end of the show. This is about methods and tactics
and the unintended consequences of having such a large display
of people who might be caught up in this situation.

(20:01):
And I understand why you would have a city or
an event say no, that's not a risk we want
to take. And you heard Mark Ronner run off some
of the lists. But like, for example, the Glory of
Molina Grand Park Summer Block Party, that's the largest free
Fourth of July celebration on the West Coast. You'd have

(20:23):
live entertainment, food vendors, and activities for all ages, probably
have alcohol. You'll probably have hundreds, if not thousands of
people there. Could you imagine how could that How that
could escalate into a situation which would be out of
control and people get hurt or worse.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
I don't want that to happen.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
And I think if you're concerned about people but not
your politics, you probably want the same. There is a
way that we can do this. We can navigate this moment.
We can enforce the law and not put people in
danger unnecessarily.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
There is a way to do it. Now.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
We may disagree on the particulars and the specifics, but
there is a way to do it, and we shouldn't
have to endanger anyone in the process. And if your
only desire is to get rid of the illegals, even
at the expense of someone's safety, then I would have
a problem with you, because I think about this in

(21:27):
terms of actual people, people that I know, some who
are legal, some who are illegal slash undocumented. These are
real people here, and the last thing I would want
is to see someone get hurt, a child get hurt,
or something like that. And so there are a number
of cancelations and there will be more. I told you

(21:47):
just now about Gloria Molina Grand Park, the largest free
Fourth of July celebration on the west coast East La
Rock and Fourth of July. That's the County of LA's
Department of Parks and Recreation event that's canceled. Summer movies
and concerts in Roland Heights. That series has been postponed.

(22:08):
Palm Park and Whittier. The Fourth of July Freedom Walk
has been canceled. There will be a fireworks show still
to be held that evening at York Field. We told
you about cut a Hay last week in Bell Gardens
and Huntington Park, and right after I told you about
Huntington Park, they had a situation with a Huntington Park

(22:30):
resident where Ice agents or other federal agents literally used
explosives to blow the door off of a house. There's
video of it. You should have seen it by now.
These situations can escalate tremendously exponentially in a heartbeat. And

(22:50):
if we're concerned about people's safety, then you should at
least make room for understanding why a Fourth of July
celebration is never more important than someone's safety.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Never.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
The whole idea of a Fourth of July celebration in
fireworks is you would think is predicated on safety.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
That's the number one thing. Now it's going to be
a little bit different this year.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
You may not have these huge gatherings of people depending
on which city you're in. And here's something else, and
I'm jumping around, but this is something which is actually
pretty important to me. If it's not your city, why
do you care if you don't live in Bell Gardens?
Why do you care if you don't live in Kuda. Hey,

(23:35):
why should you care if you weren't planning to go
down to the Gloria Molina Grand Park downtown and hang out.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Why do you care?

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Because I do hear from a lot of folks on
this issue, and they're very very spirited, let me put
it that way. They're very very emotional about this issue
and how we should handle illegal immigration and how these
cities should not cancel their Fourth of July celebrations. Usually
phrases like un American or you know, stuff like that.

(24:09):
But you weren't going to be there, so I question
your motives. I wonder what's most important to you. I
would not want anything to happen to anyone. It's not
about being detained. I'm talking about being safe. Ice is
gonna do what Ice is gonna do. It doesn't mean
that the city of Bell needs to provide a ground
in which someone might get hurt. We see the videos,

(24:31):
we've seen the methods in tactics. Sometimes many times it
is violent, and when there's violence, you can't you can't
predict or necessarily prevent how that response is going to come.
Because it's a highly emotional moment. In southern California, specifically,

(24:56):
you're talking about someone's family member, you're talking about someone's
of whale. Abuela, Nina and Ninya very very important and
we shouldn't lose sight of that. I said, last week
that there'll be more and more cities which will cancel
their Fourth of July celebrations. I would hope that you
would not take it personally because you don't live in

(25:17):
that city. You would not take it personally because it's
not involving anyone in your family.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
I would hope.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Because we always have a lot to say about things
that have nothing to do with us, people who are
not even connected to us, and places we don't even go.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
And I don't quite understand that.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
You're listening to Later with mo Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
I AM six forty is Later with mo Kelly.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Last segment, I was talking to you about some of
the events which have been canceled for the Fourth of
July given the ice raids. Now I'm going to give
you a list of some of the events which are
still going to happen, pending, you know, less there's some
sort of change in the news. These events are still
going on, and I highly recommend if you want to

(26:09):
check out some cool things on this Fourth of July.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Or actually over the course of the whole weekend.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
You'll see there's an autome Expo which is at La
Convention Center and it's running July third through the sixth,
the totality of the weekend and it's the largest anime
convention in North America. Each year, the four day convention
welcomes more than one hundred thousand fans to celebrate Japanese
pop culture and experience the Macro Masquerade, anime music video contest, concerts,

(26:38):
and the Epic Fashion Show. That is July third through
the sixth, LA Convention Center downtown and there's the fourth
at the fig Pool Party. That's the Hotel Figaro figaroa
La Casita Pool. On the fourth of July, you can
head down to historic downtown LA for an afternoon pool
party and barbecue with lot DJs, veggie menu options, and

(27:03):
VIP bottle service. You have to google as far as
how to get the tickets for that, but it's not
free that much, I do know. And staying in a
downtown LA area, you can always go to the Dodgers game.
The Dodgers will be facing off against the Astros and
that's the whole weekend, the fourth through the six and
they'll probably have the fireworks, no I know, they'll have

(27:25):
the fireworks show the night of the fourth I'm not
sure about the fifth or the sixth. And if you've
ever seen a fireworks show at Dodger Stadium, it's always fantastic.
Staying downtown, there is the Independence Day Rooftop Cinema Club,
which is eight eight eight South Olive Street. The Rooftop
Cinema Club offers a premier outdoor movie experience at Level

(27:46):
in downtown LA. On the fourth, the Rooftop Cinema Club
presents a screening of Wait for It Independence Day starring
Will Smith, Jeff Goldbloom and the tickets. Tickets options include
at Aroandack Chair at Ironduck plus popcorn and at Arondack
Love Seat plus popcorn, so it's probably not free. And

(28:10):
there's also Earth Wind and Fire at the Hollywood Bowl.
If you've never seen them live, definitely you have to
see Earth Wind and Fire once live before you leave
this earth. They'll be performing the second through the fourth,
so that's Wednesday through Friday, and their Rock and Roll
Hall of Famers. Of course, you know all of their
music Grammy Award winners, and they're going to be performing

(28:32):
over three nights. They'll be accompanied by Thomas Wilkins and
the La Philharmonic tickets are now on sale Kids twelve
and under our.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Half price.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
And last week we talked about Jaws and its fiftieth anniversary.
They do have Jaws in concert at the Hollywood Bowl
on July fifth, which is Saturday, and the Hollywood Bowl
presents an Unforgettable Film with live orchestra experience featuring the
original Summer movie Blockbuster. Jaws is going to be conducted
by David Newman and the La Philharmonic will perform John

(29:07):
Williams Oscar winning score in sync with one of the
greatest motion pictures of all time. And it's always fascinated
me how they managed to play a music score in
sync with the movie. I kind of know some of
the technology behind it, but it still fascinates me.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Have you ever seen one of those live mark One.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Of the best things I've ever gone to is a
John Carpenter show where he played music from his films
with the footage playing in the background.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Right.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
It wasn't the continuous movie all in one sitting, but
it was magnificent.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
It's always a cool thing, maybe just because I'm a
music nerd, those things always always just fascinate me. There's
Top Gun and La La Land at Hollywood Forever. That's
going to be on July fourth. In July fifth, one
of the LA's most popular outdoor movie series Cinespia, Sinespia
Sinus ba.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Let's go with Sinespia. It's like a sinus infection.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
They're presenting two blockbusters at the Long at the Landmark
Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Top Gun on Friday the fourth and
La La Land on Saturday doors that open at seven fifteen.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
I wouldn't have put those two movies together, though.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Cemetery is a great setting, and I wish somebody would
play a Night of the Living Dead.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Yeah, it would make sense to that that the setting
doesn't unnerve me because if you went to Georgetown, it's
a Catholic university, but they have a cemetery on campus,
so you get used to doing all of your activities
in and around a cemetery. That's where they bury all
the priests and everything.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Oh yeah, you could program some great stuff like Phantasm,
of course, that would be good.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Yeah, Children of the corn something like that. They got
the whole Children of the corn Is series.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Anyhow, it's Top Gun on Friday the fourth, La La
Land on Saturday doors open at seven to fifteen, movies
at nine pm, and fireworks post screening. It doesn't say
with a fireworks both nights. Guests are invited to bring
their own picnic, including beer and wine. Pee Wee's Big
Adventure presented by Vidiots on fourth of July and it's

(31:14):
the first feature film directed by Tim Burton and scored
by Danny Elfman. Peewe's Big Adventure continues to delight new
generations of fans and Vidiots is four eight eight four
Eagle Rock Boulevard in LA and you can get more
information on their website. I would like to do some
of these things, but I'll be too busy at Chateau Lem.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
We got to go to Vidiots sometime. They have a
nice little screening room. Oh they do, Yeah, Okay, all right.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
There's City Cruises Premiere Brunch Cruise taking place in Marina
del Ray from eleven am to one pm on the
fourth of July. Premiere Brunch Cruise offers views of La
spectacular beaches, Burton w Chase Park and delightful sea life.
The brunch buffet features a selection of earth to early risers,
breakfast pastries, breakfast meats and potatoes. French toast bake, scrambled

(32:05):
eggs and late risers with hand carved try tip citrus
herb roasted salmon salads. I who wants to eat a
salad on the fourth of July? It's just Unamerican roasted
summer vegetables and the signature dessert station. The buffet includes
free flowing champagne, mimosas and sparkling cider and unlimited coffee,

(32:27):
hot tea, iced tea and water. And there's mister and
Missus mussel Beach obviously on Venice Beach, It's ocean front
walk and world famous muscle beach, and Venice hosts its
annual bodybuilding and figure competition every fourth of July. Prejudging
begins at ten am and the finals take place at
one pm at the Venice Beach Recreation Center. Competition is

(32:50):
open to all amateur athletes with a one hundred and
fifty dollars entry fee. Damn, damn, but the prize has
to be good.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
The mission is free to the public.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
I hope, oh, one hundred and fifty dollars just to
flex and pose. Let us do one more, Queen Mary,
celebrate the fourth of July board the legendary Queen Mary
with a unique family friendly experience that spans the entire ship,
taking place on every deck from three to ten pm.
The festivities include themed parties throughout the decades, from an

(33:21):
old time fare to a Roaring twenties Gatsby Garden Party,
Fifties sockhop, sixties beach Bash, Groovy seventies disco, and two
thousands hip hop party with graffiti station. Now that sounds
like a lot of fun, but I just don't want
to dress up because it seems like you probably have
to dress up, and I don't want to do all that.
The fireworks show over the water is probably fantastic as well.

(33:45):
And one more Star Spangled Night's six Flags Magic Mountain.
This will be July fourth and July fifth, and they're
going to present a spectacular fireworks display synced to patriotic
music that the whole family will in joy. The park
recommends Full Throttle Plaza, Vault Plaza, and DC Universe as
the best viewing areas, and there you have some of

(34:08):
the events as of this moment which have not been
postponed or canceled for the fourth of July, but we're
gonna be hand hanging out at Chateau Le mo except
for Mark because he's anti social, except for Stephan because
he's an American and doesn't believe in the Fourth of July.
But I believe Daniel's going to be there, and I
believe Carnesie is gonna be there and some other folks.
I'm gonna try to swing by because I'm gonna be

(34:30):
doing Uber. So I thought you were stuck here.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
No no, no, oh no.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
When I found out Fourth of July is on a Friday,
that's some money to be made, so I wouldn't mind
them coming by. Well, yeah, you're obviously invited, but if
you're doing Uber, you're probably doing that well into the night.
Oh yeah, that's what I'm saying. I can come by,
like you know, in the middle of the day, maybe
try to catch the bakeoff. I really want to see
that in person. We had a couple of people ask

(34:56):
in the YouTube chat when the bank the bakeoff is
going to be and whether it's going.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
To be live stream.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yes, it's going to be live stream most definitely, and
it should be.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Don't hold me to this because all this is fluid.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Around six pm, it's always before the live show, so
you get to see everyone's dish, in everyone's presentation, where
it's not just you know, cooking a great cake. You
have to sell it. You have to present it. You
have to make us all want to eat it. You
have to convince us that it's the best thing there.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
Maybe Fouish could bring me a plate. Why would he
do something like that?

Speaker 2 (35:32):
He's driving for Uber, driving from your place to KFI. Well,
why don't you book him to pick you up or something.
Why isn't it going to drive.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
Out of the way because he's allegedly a friend, and
friends don't charge for such acts of kindness allegedly as
in unproven.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Wait, Marks, you're really not coming? Well, who's going to
do the news from here? Oh no, Heather, someone's got
to do it. I'm led to believe. Well, whatever, we'll
we'll talk off air Mark.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
I do have to warn you there will be people there.
Oh god, Well, when you play the people card, I
don't know a lot of people come on. Carnie's just
bringing ooey, gooey sticky. I want to try that KABOOI
cake y cake cake.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Okay, this is just o gooey cake. It sounds like fun.
I would love to be there.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
You are welcome because last year you were moan to
complain about not being invited.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
I've never seen the problems. Why did you invite me?
You were invited, not that I would have shown up.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
It's a spot on impersonation. I've never yeah, yeah, that
sounds exactly like me. I've never taken the tour of
Moe's villa.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
It's a chateau. Get it right, okay? If I am
six forty live everywhere in the iHeartRadio
