Don't work out.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
The M six forty is Later with Mo Kelly live
everywhere on social media and the iHeartRadio app. Claudine Cooper
now joins us in studio. She's back.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
She was away for a while. I'm so happy to
be back. Mo the nice exercise lady.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Although everybody says, everybody says, oh, now we know what
you mean when you say you're not the nice exercise lady,
because now everybody in here has pretty much taken my
class and they know I'm not really the nice exercise lady.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
But my wife until we exercise.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yes, my wife Lablu Harris done your class, Daniel, our
video technical director has Carnecie, who's not here tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
She's done your class.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
We got to get Twalla out there so you can
you can bust his ass too.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Oh yeah, I've done her a few times. I've done
it a few times. She's trying to kill me.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
It's it's all in love, though, I just you know,
it's my my labor of love.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
You I think, did you announce here on your show
your new endeavor.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
Well, when I visited you for your holiday party.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
I announced then. But I'm I'm supposed to be. Mum's
the word about it. But for those of you who
just between us, I am working with Nike a little bit.
So that's exciting for a fitness person because Nike is
like the pinnacle of fitness.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
The public word word. But it's great to have you back.
I'm not going to tell all your business, but you
were on vacation. You're doing You're so very busy, and
we appreciate you coming here. But this is the season
in which people do go on vacation. People may get
distracted by life and other things. You had graduations, you
may have anything going on over the course of summer,
(02:23):
and you may find that your exercise routine may be
interrupted for an extended period of time.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
True most people, unless of course, you work in exercise
like me, But for the average person with a lot
of things going on that can definitely become distracted. A
week can turn into a month off of exercise real quick.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
And beyond that, you have those who may have been
away even longer, and I in my life, I've learned
that the longer you stay away, the more difficult it
is to get back. Just taking those first steps back,
what do you recommend and as far as the mental
as well as the physical preparation to push through?
Speaker 6 (03:05):
Oh, I love that you asked about the mental piece too.
Here's the thing. Yesterday I went to an event.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
It was a PRESP Award panel discussion, and they talked
about rituals. What rituals do you have before you start
your day? In other words, do you go get up, pray, meditate, eat,
drink coffee. Whatever those rituals are, they should set the
tone for the day. And it got me to thinking
(03:33):
about this exact question. What do we do when it's
time to restart the workout journey?
Speaker 6 (03:40):
What rituals put.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
Us back in to the mode where we know it's
time to get back in the gym or into the
I mean, any kind of peloton whatever it is that
you do for your workouts, walking outside. But what about you,
mo What type of rituals help you lock back in.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I don't know if I have a a ritual.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
It's almost like I have to just grit my teeth
and do it, and it sucks for the first couple
of days. It does because my body is not where
it was. My stamina is not where it was, my
flexibility is not where it was, conditioning is not where
it was. And then if I can get through the
first week, then I'm okay. But I gone through it
(04:22):
enough times to know that I have to get through
the first week.
Speaker 5 (04:24):
Oh, in that first week of soreness is a beast.
When your wife came to see me, she took my
plates class and right after that, by the way, it's
their anniversary.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
You guys so happy.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
So she came take plates and then right after that
she came in did the outdoor workout, and I thought
about your wife after that, like, I hope her body
is okay.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Oh she was.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
She was feeling it and she was sore and she
was taking it out on me.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Yeah. Poor you.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Now listen, that's so insincere.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
I will say as a wife, I know husbands, you
guys are well cared for in most cases.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
I'll just put it like that and I'll leave it alone.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
However, I will say this, when you get back into
your workout journey, there's a couple things that you can
do to alleviate some of that first week's soreness. Okay, okay,
So the first one is instead of taking a scalding
hot shower after your workouts or the next day or
two after, stick with a lukewarm shower or even a
(05:33):
cool shower.
Speaker 6 (05:34):
Because the heat actually expands the muscles. It doesn't do
what you think it's going to do, which is alleviate
the sorn.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Is one thing that I've learned, and I don't know
if you use one as well. I have a hand
massage or a gun style, and it has changed my life.
I used to use even like a bread roller and
just need get it out. Yeah, knead it out. It's
like I didn't know it could it could. It's it's
life changing actually, especially the soreness.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
So at the gym that I work out, we actually
have those for the trainers to use on their clients.
So there's a whole row of them. They can pull
them out and use them for the people who are
experiencing an intense amount of soreness. It's an excellent recovery tool.
There's also ways that you can alleviate being so sore,
and one of those ways is don't overdo it.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
The first couple of days.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
That's easier said and done, because you always want to
go back where you remember got your work.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
And something else that I've learned and I swear by
is stretching every single day. Stretching even after you work out,
so your your muscles don't just retract and constrict. You know,
those are the things which have helped me in my
old age.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Old age.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
You admit to it, Oh, I admit to it. Okay,
I can't lie about it.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
Here's the other thing.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
Even if you're on a break from your workouts, even
and if you are dealing with graduation and vacation on
all these different seasons that prevent you from getting to
the gym, incorporating some kind of a stretch into your
life both morning and night is going to prep you
for when you do get ready to restart that fitness journey.
(07:18):
So I would say flexibility is a non negotiable as
we get older.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
But even for people who are younger.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
You might remember when you were I don't know, in
high school, you were probably more flexible than you are today.
So if you would have just taken every single day
to just do some slight stretches by the time you
get to be fifty, you're still somewhat flexible.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
But a lot of people don't do that, haven't done it.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
And I know if not for martial arts, I wouldn't
have done it because martial arts were stretching all the time.
That's just function of it. But a lot of people
have not employed stretching. Before we go to break, what
would you recommend to him or her or them as
far as to gently start that portion of their journey.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
The first thing I recommend is get comfortable being on
the floor. Preach that's a huge part of flexibility, as
being able to get down and up off the floor.
Put a mat on the floor wherever you find yourself
starting your day and ending your day, could be your
bedroom or living room. Put a mat there, get used
(08:29):
to being down there, and then start the flexibility journey.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Clauding Cooper, Well, this Wednesday, we'll have more with Clauding
Cooper in just a moment when we come back. You
might have seen some of the video we've had Daniel
put up some of the video of the free community
workouts that she has going on all through summer, and
if you would liked the opportunity for Clauding Cooper to
kill you.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
One of her workouts will tell you about how in just.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
A moment, Kay if I Am six forty elive everywhere
in the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
You're listening to Later with Moe Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
KFI AM six forty is Later with Mo Keli.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
We're live everywhere on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and the iHeartRadio app.
And I just want to say shout out to pH
Survivor on the YouTube Momigo's motown chat, very kind of
you for the donations one was and I'm quoting pH Survivor.
Respect to Mom's Moe's mom for keeping it real and
who will cuss you out? If you didn't hear earlier
(09:28):
in the show, was talking about how profane my mother is.
And she's listening right now, so she's probably applauding and
cussing up a storm as I say this, But yes,
she will outcuss anyone you know, including you, Claudine, including
my wife La Muhir, including anyone you know. There's no
one who can outcuss her, And so people want her
to come on the show so they can prove me right,
(09:50):
you know.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
So I don't know, but thank you very much, pH Survivor.
Speaker 6 (09:54):
It's Cassine aloud on the radio.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
There are well, there are like seven words. You can't
say a dirty word. Yeah that George Carlin will let
you know. There are words like I can say. I
can say ass, but I can't talk about what it does.
Ah okay, Like you can be pissed off, but I
can't got it opposite.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
Things like that.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
You know they're things, and you know the sec you're
not supposed to be gratuitous. I can't do it every
single segment, but you know, I'd like to push the
boundaries and mark He'll say something which will go right
up to the line.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Every now might it's your tongue.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
These guys here, they will all push it to the line.
That's what I did me personally. I just defer to
your mom. If she's Queen Cusser, she can.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Did you get a chance to meet her when you
came out the house.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
I didn't. I didn't get a chance to meet her.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Wh was she was, Yeah, she was in the kitchen.
She was sitting next to the wall away from the kitchen.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
Was she one of the judges for the dessert cont No.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
She was not, Thank goodness, No she was not. But
she did feed me all the desserts. Yes she did.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
She was very kind those desserts. I'm telling you chef's kiss.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
And now we're working off those desserts. Basically.
Speaker 6 (11:14):
Well, that's the plan.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Your free community workouts each Saturday at the Hollywood Retail
District or have that.
Speaker 5 (11:22):
Right, Hollywood Park Retail District in Inglewood, California on the
SOFI Stadium campus. Best way to get there is to
use Prairie and Century find the parking. Your parking is validated,
The workout is free, and everybody who comes is very cool.
No judgment, all shapes, all sizes, all levels, all ages.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Yet yeah, absolutely you will see someone who either looks
like you or who you're aspiring to be.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Put it that way.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
And for those who have not been a part of
the free community workouts, what are some of the things
that you will put have people do or how you
put them through their pace?
Speaker 5 (12:00):
Oh, you know, we just do like a little walk
or a jog. So I always try to modify the
workouts to meet people where they are. Everyone is at
a different place in their fitness journey, so I wouldn't
expect you to be able to do what a ten
year old child can do. So a lot of times
what I'll say is like to the younger kids, I'll say, okay,
you guys, run as fast as you can. Well, obviously,
(12:22):
I'm fifty, I'm not going to run as fast as
a ten year old. But I can jog or I
can walk, and then we do things like squats and
jumping jacks, all modified as needed. So really, body weight
conditioning is my specialty. I've been working a lot in
the plate space lately, which also incorporates a lot of
(12:42):
body weight work as well.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
And if you're looking at the video, that doesn't even
give it real justice. There are easily a good hundred
people out there most Saturdays.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
And even more so now because we're wrapping up a
summer series, which means that there's a block of classes
that are held during the summer, and then we take
a break and then we do a block of classes
that are held in the fall. So if you want
to come, the best time to come is between now
and the end of July. There's going to be a
big splash on July twenty sixth, which is Saturday. We're
(13:15):
going to have some events, some free stuff, and that
would be a great day for everybody to pull up.
And it runs how long, it's only about forty five minutes.
We use about fifteen minutes to socialize. Maybe go over
to the farmer's market, check out the gym for people
who have never been to that area. Inglewood has really
developed and grown over the last let's say, what about
(13:37):
five years.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Or so very quickly.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
How can people get in touch with you and see
more of what you're doing, be a part of what
you're doing.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
Well.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
I'm always happy to respond to messages, but it's gotten
to the point where I've gotten some crazy, kooky messages.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
So no, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
I'm not sure what's going on.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
But your famous. Now I'm saying that. Look, I understand,
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
I never really wanted to be famous, mo.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
I just want to teach my workouts, my my own business,
go raise my children, be married to my husband.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
You know, live a very simple life. But here I
am on the show with you.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
You are a person of faith as I am, and
sometimes sometimes what is for you is bigger than what
you might have envision for yourself.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
And that is indeed a word and a sermon tonight,
because I definitely did not envision half of what's going
on in my life. And I'm very thankful. I'm very grateful.
But you ask how people can reach me. My website
is Claudinecooper dot com. I do respond to messages, but
the ones that seem sane, I just.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Tell them, you know, don't be an ass, you know,
be respectful. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
I always say, address me as you would if we
were on the street. And if you don't have that
modicum of respect, just put delete, don't even send a message.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Something about that keyboard makes people very courageous.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yes, yes, and I'm not exactly sure why.
Speaker 6 (15:09):
Something we can explore next week.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
But you're saying. As far as contacting you, they.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Can go to Claudinecooper dot com. There's a little message
bar in there. You try to make it simple and
everything everything.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
It's great seeing you has been more than a month,
and hopefully it won't be a month until we see
you again.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
I hope it won't. Plan to come back next Wednesday.
If you'll have me, We'll always have you. This later
with mo Kelly k If. I am six forty, We're
live everywhere on YouTube. You can see the show on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram.
You can always listen to us anywhere on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
You're listening to Later with Mo Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
K I AM six forty is Later with Mo Kelly.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
We're live on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and the iHeartRadio app.
I gotta say I'm actually getting a little bit excited
for the idea of the Olympics. I know people want
to trash LA. People want to say they shouldn't.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Have the Olympics in California.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Well, first of all, they don't award the Olympics to
a state.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
It's warded to a city.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
It's not like you can just pick it up from
LA and then put it in Texas somewhere, or put
it in Florida somewhere.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
It's in LA. It's not going anywhere.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
And if they should have to remove it from LA,
let's say, unfortunately there was a disaster or something, They're
not going to keep it in the same country. They
would probably go to another city which already put in
a bid, or a city which is previously hosted in
Olympic Games. Meaning there is no way on God's Green
Earth that Dallas or Miami, Fort Lauderdale, any of those
(16:48):
cities will be hosting the twenty twenty eight Olympics, no
matter how much you want to hate on the city.
But if you know anything about the Olympics, the Games,
how they're scheduled is really important. I know when I
watch the Summer Games, I kind of am geared in to.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Watch the track and field. That's my thing. That's for me.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
It's like the highlight of it all, and it's always
the second week.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Well not this time. In twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
The track and field events will be held during the
first week of the Games, and swimming will move to
the second week and conclude the Games on Day sixteen.
They're flipping. Those marathon events will take place during the
final weekend, which is consistent with tradition, and the first
Olympic of medal is expected to be awarded on opening
day during the triathlon event at Venice Beach.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
That's something else which is different.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Day fifteen will feature the most medal events, with finals
in nineteen individual sports and sixteen team metal matches scheduled
on what organizers are calling quote the single most action
packed day of the LA twenty eight games close quote,
and if you have seen other games, you know that
it kind of winds down as you get closer to
(18:05):
that sixteenth day. This is going to be completely different
where they're going to do front load it with track
and field at the beginning, but they're going to award
the most gold medals at the end of the games,
and so that should be pretty interesting as far as
if you follow the medal standings, what could change in
a given day right at the end. Now, it will
(18:26):
probably be the United States on top, because whenever you
have the United States or a city in the United
States hosting the games, we as the home team, as
they say, usually do much better than the other countries.
I would hope, And this is one time I'm actually
going to try to use my media credential credentials to
get in some of the games, and whenever that opportunity
(18:47):
opens up, I want to be in the house for
some of them because this will probably no I know
for a fact, this will be the last time it'll
be in LA in my lifetime. You're not going to
come back another time while I'm on this earth. And
I was in town only for a heartbeat in nineteen
eighty four, and I was actually going out of town
on vacation during nineteen eighty four. So this is something
(19:09):
I actually want to be in the house for an
event or two or four of them, and hopefully we'll
be able to get a press pass and be able
to cover it and be part of that experience. I
don't know which events. In previous years I would say, oh,
I got to go to tikwondo. Not so much anymore.
It's not the same. No, no, tikwondo has evolved where
(19:33):
there's not a lot of action. It's it's kind of
like pity pat. It's tag. They're not trying to do
the high risk kicks. There's not a lot of contact anymore.
So it's just not the same. There haven't been as
far as boxers, there haven't been real great American boxers
on the amateur level for quite some time.
Speaker 7 (19:55):
Last last Olympic, that entirety of the boxing was snooze fest.
I'm sorry, right, snooze fest, Light middle cruise, all the
weight classes, snooze fest. Some of some of the female
boxing was stellar, but even still, I was like, come on, man,
give me a squabble.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
It's not like my memories during the nineteen seventies and
eighties with boxing, could not beat it, could not beat it.
And my memories of taekwondo in the nineties and early
two thousands.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Great. Great, it's not the same anymore, you know. Even basketball.
Speaker 7 (20:32):
I do remember watching basketball, and at least from the
American entry, there was a lot more just determination to win.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
Because up until the Dream Team in ninety two, we
were not winning. We were not a foregone conclusion to win.
I remember it was nineteen eighty eight. I was in college,
went to Georgetown. The coach for the eighty eight team
was the late John Thompson, coach of Georgetown, and I
had a couple of friends. And I say friends because
I was going to school with both Alonso Morning and
(21:07):
Charles Smith at that time, who were both on the team.
I had far more interest than the average person. And
that was the last team which didn't win the gold,
which set in stage set in motion for the NBA
players to come in nineteen ninety two and since then
after we won a few goals. After nineteen ninety two,
(21:27):
we got complacent again, and then we got our asses
kicked in some recent Olympics, and we don't dominate the
sport like we used to.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Because the world has caught up.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
We have a generation, actually two generations of athletes who've
been playing basketball on an NBA level. You look at
the NBA now, it's full of international players. And that's
what happened.
Speaker 7 (21:48):
I mean the last Olympic NBA games, there were far
more NBA players from other countries who decided to play
for their home team, and that kind of just ultimately
just xed out the chance of the US just coming
in and walking away with it. Was like, nah, we're
(22:09):
taking all of our best players back.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
It's different for a number of reasons.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
One, you have countries which don't have a lot of
NBA players, but their national teams have played together for
quite a long time, in many months at the minimum.
And you have the US team, which is full of
NBA players. Let's say they finished the season in June,
which is usually when the season ends.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Then you have the Olympics said late July.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
They only have maybe a month of playing together and
they're usually outplayed.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
They get by, but.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
They're struggling with countries they shouldn't struggle with, like a Serbia,
or like a France, or even a Spain.
Speaker 7 (22:49):
Because in those countries, like you said, they're playing together,
these other teams coming together. You're putting this hodgepodge of
quote unquote great great players who've spent most of their
careers playing against each other.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
Yes, yes, and and NBA is hero ball is individual ball.
It's not about team play. And you get these players
who are good individually. There are you know, Hall of
famers and most of the time, but it doesn't make
necessarily for a good team cohesively, that know, to play
within a fundamental set, you know, because the FEBA rules
(23:23):
are still different from the American and NBA rules, and
the way the game is officiated is just different. And
that's why if and when we get upset or we
get beaten, I'm not surprised because it's a different type
of basketball that the NBA and NBA players just don't
play as you know, you're not allowed to dribble and
(23:43):
carry and travel in the way that you are in
the NBA. So the whole concept of Olympic competition is
different in many ways.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
So I don't look forward to the same sports.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
But there are other sports that are like track and field,
that's always one of my highlights. Hopefully I'll get a
chance to get a press pass and check that out.
It's not possible. We know the Olympic Committee is listening
now Later with mo Kelly caf I AM six forty,
we're live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. When we come back,
we're going to tell you about how Disney Plus is
(24:15):
making a huge step in its own evolution. If you're
not paying, if you haven't been paying attention, you may
not have recognized it. But we're going to tell you
how Disney Plus and other streaming platforms are now adding
this live component that you'll see going forward everywhere.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
You're listening to Later with mo Kelly on demand from
KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
CAFI is Later with Mo Kelly live on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook,
and iHeartRadio app. ABC News, and you know, ABC is
a subsidiary of Disney and ABC has been for the
most part nowhere to be found on the Disney Plus app.
That's all about to change. ABC News is launching a
(25:02):
new exclusive daily news program that will stream on Disney Plus.
It's called What You Need to Know, and it's going
to have two new episodes going live on Disney Plus
at six am Eastern. But did you catch it? I said,
it's going live. We talked about how Netflix in previous
(25:23):
months was getting into the live space. They had live events,
live sporting events, and I said, that's probably the next
place where a lot of these streaming apps is going
to go. I was commenting, I started watching TOB because
of Mark Ronner. TB has a live streaming portion. It's
not just the static content that you would request on demand.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
There needs to be that live up to date.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Doesn't have to be news content, but something which is
available happening in the moment. And each episode for this
new Disney plus ABC News show will be available for
twenty four hours before the next day's episode replaces it,
So even if you don't catch it live, it's still
relatively new and you can watch it in perpetuity throughout
(26:11):
the rest of the day at least. And what you
need to know, will be the first ABC News program
exclusive to the program, to the platform. I thought originally
that Disney was going to get rid of all things ABC.
I thought they were going to get rid of their
live TV component, or at least a networks portion. But
maybe they've rethought that, and they thought that there's a
(26:32):
way they can use this to enhance the Disney Plus
streaming platform, because we've talked about how streaming has now
eclipsed viewership of both broadcast and cable, and if you
have a live component which you could seamlessly feed into
your streaming platform, yes, it does make sense because at
(26:53):
this point, just about everyone is streaming something. You might
be streaming the video portion this radio show. You might
be streaming your music if you're listening to the iHeartRadio app.
People now are accustomed to streaming their media. It's not
like I have to walk people through how to cut
(27:14):
the cord.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Now. They pretty much have figured that out. Now.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
They know what the Disney Plus app is, they know
what the HBO Max app is, they know what TB
is or Peacock or any of these other streaming platforms
which a're out there. Everyone has one or some or
just about all of them, Hulu whatever.
Speaker 7 (27:34):
At this point, it's interesting that they're doing this on
Disney Plus because they could easily do this on Hulu,
which if it's news, you would think, since Hulu leans
a little older already, that that would be where they
would put it, and Hulu carries a lot of the
ABC content that may show. So I'm just as true
(27:56):
curious as to like, why did they choose Disney Plus, which,
on the surface targets a younger audience.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
I would put it this way, I know that Disney
Plus has a much larger subscription base.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
I don't know how much longer. And this is just
me spitballing.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
I don't know how much longer Hulu is going to
be a focus of anything Disney. I don't know that
they're in the big picture future plans of Disney. But
ABC and if you think about CNN and their HBO Max,
they have a live component which is being used as well.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
So I think all.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Of the look it's Monkey Sea Monkey do So if
one does it, then all of them are going to
do it. They're going to have a live component, which
makes sense for it to exist on one of their
streaming platforms.
Speaker 7 (28:51):
Ah because Paramount could pick up CBS News correct, Okay.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
Paramount does. As a matter of fact, I'm almost positive
I do. I just have to check it.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
I'm pretty sure does have live CBS News on it.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
I have so many platforms and apps that you know, hey,
Mark does to b have the live CBS News.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
I know some of them have.
Speaker 7 (29:14):
I don't know what live stuff two B has on
it because I never look at that stuff.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
I'm always looking at their old cult films and classics.
But it does. But it does have that live component.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
You're going to say, Stephan, oh, you're right, Paramount Plus
does have live news, specifically CBS I thought so, yeah, okay,
so this is basically everyone following in the line is like,
we have this added live content. It should live on
our streaming platform somewhere.
Speaker 7 (29:38):
Then what's going to happen to like CBS Local or
ABC Local or.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
Just this is just this is just national. This is
just the national feed. Okay, okay, this is just a
national feed. Now, of course your local station, if you're
talking about like k CAL nine, you can go to
its website. But they're not at this point, they have
not put the local feeds up on streaming platforms, the
main streaming platforms. I mean, there'll be a bunch to
(30:03):
put up there unless you just put up the major cities.
So this would just be a general news program. Hey,
here's everything that's happening. Yeah, think about it, like if
you watch ABC and it's like ABC News tonight. You'd
have the major national programs like Good Morning America or
what have you gotcha? And you would be able to
see those, but as far as your local news, you
have to tune into ABC seven.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Okay, okay, yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
This is going to be the future where, if it's
not already done, you'll have these live news feeds and
special programming available on all the streaming ops because that's
where people are going. You're going to go to where
the eyeballs are. And also on broadcast television. If you
have a show, you can't have it sit there for
twenty four hours. It's not it's linear programming. It's not
(30:44):
set up for that.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Right. Is that where you get or where do you
get your news? Or do you do it on Hulu? No?
Speaker 4 (30:51):
I have slings, so I have the actual channel, that's right.
I have the I have my local channels, and I
also have the national channels. I got a little bit
of everything. But I mean it would be weird for
me to open Disney Plus to get ABC News. I'm
not there yet. I can just find ABC News. I'm
not going to Disney Plus unless they make me. It's
(31:15):
