Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listen Saints kp I AM six forty the Bill
Handles show on demand on the iHeartRadio apps and now
Handle on the news.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle. Good morning everybody, Wednesday morning,
January twenty one. President Trump is speaking at Davos, so
right now, and no surprise, he's start. He'll go on
for an hour or so. And he wasn't going to
speak about Greenland, he said. First of all, he spent
(00:36):
the first few minutes touting what his administration did or does,
the greatest administration in the world has ever seen. He
won in a landslide, I mean, you know, typical stuff.
And then he went into Greenland, and he said he
wasn't going to And bottom line is, we need Greenland.
It's good for the world for us to have Greenland.
(00:57):
If it weren't for the United States, you'd all be
speaking German or Japanese. He's talking to Europe. It is fantastic. Wow. Yeah, No,
it's uh wind farms. You're all you know, because they
have many wind forms and alternative energy in Europe. You're
all idiots that have these wind farms. It's just it's fantastic.
(01:21):
It is uh, I wish we could carry it. Well,
can we drop in just for a moment Cono, just
to hear him, just for a second, and then we'll
start the show and say hello, let me see if
we can do this.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Elections and a fair media. The media is terrible. It's
very crooked, it's very biased, terrible, but some day it'll
straighten out because it's losing all credibility. Think of it,
when I went in a landslide, a giant landslide, won
all seven Swing states, won the popular vote for won everything,
and I only get negative press. That means that it
(01:56):
has no credibility. And if they're going to get that ability,
they're going to have to be fair. So you need
a fair press. But you also, my god, you need
those other elements. And I inherited a terrible, terrible situation.
If you look, the border was open, the inflation was raging.
(02:18):
Everything was bad with the United States when I came
into office. But I also inherited a mess with Ukraine
and Russia, something that would have never happened.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
All Right, it's going to be an hour and a
half of tating.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
I would love to see a shot of the audience.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, oh yeah, you would. Yeah, they're not going to
do that. It's too it's too formal an event. You're
not going to see that whispering hitting each other with
their elbows going. Do you believe what he just said?
Oh my god? Anyway, it has. He started out strong.
It is a typical Donald Trump's beach. I am the best,
(02:58):
I am the greatest.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Uh, I am a little rough for the wearer. Is
that just me?
Speaker 6 (03:04):
He sounds like he's a little horse.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, well, you know flew well, he flew out and
over the right. He had to go back and they
had to switch out the airplanes, and so he's been flying.
I think right as he landed, he was driven directly
here or directly there to the auditorium. It was there
was there was no hotel, stay or anything, just straight out. Uh.
(03:29):
Helicopter lands from the airport, and helicopter lands at Davos
and H and I in a convoy, you know, off
he goes. And so anyway, we'll we'll get the gist
of this, but it's going to be typical entertaining. What
makes us fun is to see the people at Davos
get a they actually get a first hand view. They
(03:52):
have orchestra sees to this thing. Uh, the rest of
us are looking at the big jumbo screen unfortunately, so
we don't feel the palpable excitement going in through that room.
All right, quick hello to everybody, Hey Will, good morning, Bill,
good morning, Yes, good morning, and then kno, there you are,
good morning? Fair enough. Oh you know what we were
(04:15):
done with the helped Kono buy his car, and just
if you could quickly give us the final figures maybe
a drum roll? I have no idea. We we didn't
prepare for this, but and coming up with the final
figure and the final figure drum roll? Oh, all right,
here we go, well planned. Oh his drum roll is
(04:40):
you know? Yeah? Okay, what is it?
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Nineteen thousand, nine hundred and eleven.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Oh hold on, man, we are no, no, we're going
to do we are going to extend it for Oh no,
it's already shut down, right or it still open? Okay,
So we have to hit twenty thousand, all right, So
I would like, how much do we need to hit
twenty thousand? I don't do man, eighty nine dollars? Do
(05:14):
you think we can hit eighty nine?
Speaker 5 (05:17):
You just give him eighty nine dollars?
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Because there's no chance.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
I'll do it.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, okay, good do it? Yeah, okay, so that's two
times eighty nine dollars. That's great. Now we're splitting it.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
Now, I'll do it. I'll put in the eighty nine dollars.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Well for splitting all chippin.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah right, wow, you know what, old let's give it
to after the break I bet you we hit it.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
All right, Okay, see, I'll mention it. I'll do my part.
So yeah, I don't have to actually spend money. See
how that works.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Such a host thing to do it really is. I
was hoping I talked about it.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
That's correct. That is absolutely correct. If anybody wants to,
by the way, buy breakfast for the crowd, you're more
than welcome. You're get to mention. What else can we do?
Speaker 5 (06:06):
I want to see eighty nine people give one dollar.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
That would be great. Anyway, here's how, here's how we're
going to raise eighty nine dollars. You go to k
f I A M six forty dot com slash kno
it's k O n O and that will put you
into the go fundme page and we'll hit our twenty thousand.
Oh okay, fair enough. Hello to Amy, good morning, Hi Bill,
(06:31):
Hey there you go. And Neil always calling me a
cheap baster, good morning, and and Ann who is helped
put this scene together and good morning help. Well actually
I think it was Michelle who actually established it, right
or do you do it? And did it?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
All?
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Good for Ann? And Okay gets all the credit. Okay,
we're gonna go a little bit above eighty nine dollars.
I'm sure everything over twenty thousand dollars and we'll simply
take and I think that's a great idea. Okay, it's
time handle whoa handle on the news? Amy, Neil and
(07:13):
me lead Sorry camp On. Of course, what is going
on is Davos. That's the big story. But locally we'll
take a story because the California Republicans have actually appealed
the Prop fifty lawsuit to the Supreme Court. They do
(07:36):
not want Prop fifty because with the help of Prop fifty,
the Democrats are probably going to take the over Congress.
We'll also be talking about what Trump is saying on
and off, because this is He's gonna go on for
an hour, hour and a half. I wish we could
take it live for the whole morning, but no one
(07:57):
can take it. Here's the other thing. The people at Davos,
they've locked the doors. They can't go to the bathroom.
You know that, don't you. They have to listen to
prisoners who have been given sentences are in that room
in lieu of prison time.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
I think that's fake news.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
I don't think so. Okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Real quick though, before we close this officially.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Oh yeah, that where we are all hold on, let
me introduce for people just tuned in, we're finishing Kono's attempt,
and successful attempt is going to be to buy a
Car's car blew up, as you know, and we're helping
him buy a new car. Our goal was I think
we it said twenty five what we wanted to reach.
Twenty We were eighty nine dollars short before we went
(08:44):
to break, okay.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
And be prushing when you prushing. Twenty thousand, three hundred
and fifteen.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Okay, So here's what we want to do. Twenty thousand
goes to Kono. Three hundred and fifteen dollars. Though to me,
because I actually came up with this idea of a
GoFundMe page quite a minute.
Speaker 7 (09:08):
Hey, you're the idiots, you're the morons. I came up
with this idea handled Trump. Never has the Morning show
been so huge.
Speaker 8 (09:21):
I have gotten Cono out of deep debt. The country
of Cono would be speaking German. I just want to say,
because I've been busting his chops. One, this is super cool.
Our listeners are awesome. Cono couldn't be more the opposite
of somebody that accepts anything from anyone. He's a doing
(09:43):
himself guy and he bustes hump on the show. And
God bless every single one of those people that gave money,
because one it's very kind and two it makes his
skin crawl. He's so uncomfortable with it, which is wonderful.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
So it's a double win. It's a double hit. Okay,
moving on, more handle on the news Amy neil Me
trade deal trouble.
Speaker 9 (10:08):
The European Parliament is planning to suspend approval of a
US trade deal that was agreed to in July. It
would mark another escalation in tensions between the US and
Europe as President Trump ratchets up his efforts to acquire Greenland.
Apparently he just said during his little speech in Davos
(10:28):
that the US will not use force to take Greenland.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Oh so, he's going to use Okay, well I'm glad
to hear that because that would only put us into
a World War three situation. Thank you for that. But
he is going to use tariffs to punish those countries
who are not on his side. How unusually, I haven't
heard that before. And that is going to Royal the
and that's Roi L. Royal. The world markets looking on yesterday,
(11:01):
it went down, didn't The Dow went down nine hundred
points something along those lines, eight to fifty five.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
Yesterday.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, well we'll see what happens today.
Speaker 6 (11:11):
Trading up near forty nine thousand.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, I know it has gone up, and well the
Dow the stockbroker opens in six minutes, so we'll see
how it goes.
Speaker 8 (11:22):
All right, everybody's getting on board with the Board of Peace.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Come one, come all.
Speaker 8 (11:26):
More than ten countries have signed on to join President
Trump's Board of Peace. This is obviously for Gaza, and
there are those that are saying only five the United
Arab Mrs, Belarus, Morocco, Hungary, Canada have publicly accepted his
invitation to join. You know, not all of them are
(11:47):
going to be putting that one billion dollars down to
become permanent members. Canada says it won't pay to join,
but some countries have given something like around twenty million
dollars or something. But it's happening, and he is, of
course going to be the chairman, the president.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Of course he is. Now, this sounds like the un
where all these countries get together, exactly what making the
Trump n right and then versai in nineteen nineteen. That
sounds an awful lot like that. Okay, so much, it'll be.
It'll be Donald Trump with the He will be the
(12:27):
attorney inspector general. I think are they do they have?
And you can look this up? Is there a legal
term that defines grand puba?
Speaker 6 (12:41):
You're totally reminding me of an old episode of the Flynnstones.
Speaker 7 (12:45):
Yes, I do remember that we're going to be great
in the United Nations.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
In New York.
Speaker 8 (12:52):
All the flags are just going to be Trump flags.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
We are having such a good time with this, and
it is unfortunately it's far from the truth. All right,
let's do one or two more before we bail out
of here.
Speaker 9 (13:06):
President Trump was a little late to the ball. He
was on his way to Davos, Switzerland.
Speaker 6 (13:13):
He's arrived there.
Speaker 9 (13:13):
He's talking now but they were on their way and
had to turn around because of a problem on Air
Force one, a minor electrical issue is what they called it,
and set out of an abundance of caution. The plane
was turned around, land back landed back at joint base.
Andrews got on the other Air Force one and went
(13:34):
to Switzerland. So he got there like right before his
speech started.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Yeah, so he did have a chance to even go
to a hotel to freshen up. I mean he went
helicopter from the airfield and Davos and then the convoy
went to the forum and he started speaking and he
will not stop. We'll see how long it went. Was
it yesterday? He went for an hour and a half
(13:58):
or a couple of.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
Days ago, almost two hours yesterday?
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah, I didn't what was it Neil Diamond write a
song about him, ramblin Rosie.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Okay, you get a subpoena.
Speaker 8 (14:12):
You've got the Justice Department going after everyone. You've got
federal prosecutors serving grand jury subpoenas yesterday and they are
going out to the offices of Governor Tim Walls. You've
got General Keith Ellison, they're in Minneapolis. You've got or
(14:34):
you've got Minneapolis mayor rather Jacob Frey or Fry, and
they're just going sweeping throughout the offices there in Minnesota
for officials being accused of obstructing federal immigration enforcement through
public statements they made.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
So I'd like to see which public statements that they
made that the argument is that they are obstructing justice.
I mean, specifically, if one of the officials said, go
get in front of a car that's driven by ice,
stop an ICE agent from moving forward and arresting or
(15:18):
effectuating an arrest. I think you're going to make an.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
Argument back to January sixth too.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Oh no, that's different. No no, no, no, no, no, no, no
no no, he was no. You listen to him. He
was talking to patriots and he said do a peaceful
march and make and they did and it was a
peaceful demonstration. But to his credit, he did say he
did never mentioned he never mentioned any kind of force.
(15:50):
He never during that January sixth speech, he talked about
go there, show them, show them what they're doing, show
them to do the right thing, make sure that Pence
does the right thing. And he did use the word
piece in there. So there was no argument there. Now
this one is going to be interesting, but it doesn't matter.
What ends up happening is when the Justice Department goes
(16:12):
after someone, they go broke very very quickly, and that
is one of the factors of going after someone. It
doesn't even matter if the government wins or loses, because
the unlimited resources of the Department of Justice just hit
you big time, and it's millions of dollars of defense.
Speaker 9 (16:29):
Usually the FED and independence the Federal reserves ability to
set interest rates without political interference, you know, like pressure
from the president or anything, is at stake this week
in a Supreme Court case on presidential power. Oral arguments
(16:50):
are expected to start in about twenty minutes. It's the
case of FED Governor Lisa Cook. President Trump wants her
out of her role on the fed's board over unproven
allegations of mortgage fraud.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Yeah, this one actually probably has more import than virtually
everything else once the FED. Once the court says the
FED will be controlled by what the president wants any
president there, the lack of independence now completely disappears, and
the entire world economy looks at the FED. That is
(17:29):
how important the FED is and its independence is critical
in terms of the interest rates. That it sets without
governmental intrusion. And now it's well, the President has gone
and basically said, I will decide what the interest rates
will be.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
How would we protect that.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
The court ruling that the FED is in fact independent.
I mean it's part of the executive branch the FED,
but it is independent. It is a quasi independent agency
of which all the President could do is nominate someone
which will be confirmed whoever it is. And that's a
six year term. That's it done. And the President has
(18:06):
no say at all in which way the FED goes
and what he has moves to say. Effectively, I'll make
that decision. I will remove he wants to remove this
woman and does it is arguing cause and there's you
don't have to go to court as far as he's concerned.
I'll use alleged and you're done. And it's gonna that
will royal markets Gods love that word royal second time
(18:29):
today I use that.
Speaker 7 (18:31):
Ro o.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
I l by the way you handle word of the day.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah. And then I had asked and jokingly to define
the Grand Puba as I was making fun of the president,
and she defined it perfectly. Or is that the urban
dictionary or is that Webster's and it's AI. Oh, it's AI. Okay,
(18:56):
it's the AI reference. I didn't know that AI had
its own dictionary, but I guess it does. That's how
deeply I understand AI. What it's calling from what's out there. Yes,
I understand it calls. That's another good word calling. It's
roiling the cull.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
There is a Websters Merriam Webster.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yeah, no, I really, there is a puhba definition in
the Merriam Webster. Oky. Good enough, all right. The President
just finished is one hour and twelve minute speech at
Davos in Switzerland, and it went all over the place,
as usual, and he went from topic to topic, returned
(19:41):
to topics, made some claims, made some boasts, some of
which were not particularly true. A lot of them weren't
particularly true, but no issue. He came back and literally,
we are the greatest. A lot of people believe we
are the greatest country in the world, which I think,
to some extent, can certainly argue we are the greatest
(20:02):
country in the world. I've always had a problem with
in terms of what literacy, mortality, you know, opportunity. I think, yeah,
you know, opportunity. Right at the top of the heat.
You know, healthcare, healthcare were the number one country in
the world. Right, Yeah, that's true. We are in many ways.
But the point is, while he was touting and talking
about how great we were, he literally in the room
(20:25):
full of Europeans said, you are morons. You guys are idiots.
You and then he made some examples. You believe in
these windmills. Windmills kill birds. Wind mills stop people from
having energy. I mean they curtail energy, they don't create energy.
That's good stuff. All right, let's quickly finish up handle
on the news before we get to what is going on.
(20:49):
So money that's going on. Yes, money is the weapon
of choice right now.
Speaker 8 (20:53):
Danish pension operator is saying that they are exiting US
treasuries because of finance concerns as Denmark, of course, is
sparring right now with President Trump over his threats to
take over Greenland. So they're selling off one hundred million
in US Treasury bonds there, which is nothing. Yeah, it's nothing,
(21:16):
but it's money for money. They're just basically going, listen,
you're not going to invest in US properly.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
We're not here.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
It's a political statement. It's a political statement, and there
it's couched with the decision. The investing chief said that
was driven by what his organization sees as poor US
government finances and the debt problem that we have.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (21:37):
See, so that's what it is. It's an ability to
take a shot at a man.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Yeah, that's exactly.
Speaker 6 (21:45):
Amy Busfield is out on bail.
Speaker 9 (21:48):
Timothy Bussfield was ordered by a New Mexico judge to
be released from jail. He's a waiting trial on child
sex abuse charges. Apparently he's charged with the touching twin
boys on a film set. He turned himself into authorities
in New Mexico last week and during the hearing yesterday
(22:09):
about two hours of arguments were presented and the judge
denied emotion to keep him in custody, rule that he
should be released on his own recognaissance.
Speaker 8 (22:17):
Yeah, there was more stuff coming out about that case
yesterday from TMZ. I think that the kids were interviewed
and they said no, he never touched them.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
And the end of director of photography said it would
be impossible for him to do anything on set because
they had ten people around those kids at all times.
I'm sure the parents.
Speaker 8 (22:37):
I guess the mother at one point had screamed at
him that if they didn't come back. He was the
director at this point, I think, on this project, and
that if he didn't bring the kids back in the
next season or whatever of the show, that she'd have
his ass or something like that.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
All Right, we'll see what happens with that. Although there's
another accusation too.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Yeah, if he's guilty, hang them by his eyelids.
Speaker 8 (23:01):
Yeah, if not, hang her by eyelids.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (23:07):
Okay, hundreds of protesters hundreds, hundreds, Yeah, they say hundreds,
but later in the article it says nearly one hundred.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
Yeah, yeah, so have you.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
When I remember, we got in a little bit of
trouble with the Koreans and the allegation that I said
something about Koreans dogs say we you okay, the allegation,
which was never proven, that I said something about that,
which I denied vehemently, that I ever said anything about
Koreans eating dogs. Anyway, there was a demonstration outside of
(23:45):
our building. Five people showed up, and it was covered
by the news. Yeah, and and the camera was such
obviously tell me which side of the political coin that
was on, And the camera was pointed in such a
way that you only saw five people, but you could
surmise there were many, many more, as opposed to a
(24:07):
long shot, of course, which shows only five people in
the corner.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
So all right, are you saying that the news is.
Speaker 9 (24:16):
Yeah, skewed, yeap, but bye, little bloodsuckers.
Speaker 6 (24:23):
Moving on.
Speaker 9 (24:25):
Residents and Alsagundo have been battling an invasion of mosquitos
nearly two months. They said that the mosquitoes are getting
in their house and biting the rud out of people,
leaving them with weltz and really affecting their lives. They're
trying to figure out where they're coming from. Apparently several
mosquito breeding grounds were found at the Hyperion water Reclamation plant,
(24:47):
and the mayor of El Segundo, Chris Pimentel, said standing
water leftover from recent rainy weather could be to blame.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
All right, so much for that. Oh yeah, actually got
through ten stories in the middle of all that, which
is kind of interesting. Kf I am six point forty.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show. Catch My
Show Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and
