Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to kp I AM six forty the Bill
Handles show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
And now Handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen, here's
Bill Handle.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
And good morning.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Here.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
We are already Monday.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
June fifteenth, and we're almost halfway through the year. My goodness,
doesn't that you know? It just seems that yesterday was
June fourteenth. I have to tell you we are zipping
through this year, and the old the older we get,
the quicker it goes.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
It makes sense. You know.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Someone ascribed it to me, and I've read this before
that the reason it seems to be going so much
quicker is a.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Year as a percentage of our life.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
So we're ten years old and we're off for you know,
a year is ten percent of our entire life.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
You know, it's enormous.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
Remember when you're on vacation, summer vacation, three months, it
seemed like forever. Well, not so much anymore. Okay, hello,
well we're almost back to the eighteen. As soon as
head Bail's out of here and Amy comes back, shots fired.
Oh my god, Oh we've just started heading as usual.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
So Neil is back.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Welcome out, he Neil is back from his bariatric surgery.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, barely active surgery.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
And you said, yeah you had it what two weeks ago?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Right, No, one week ago?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
One week ago? And how much have you lost in
one week?
Speaker 2 (01:41):
About twenty five packs?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
That is? Yeah, I mean there's you know what it is, Bill,
Will is shocked what I take the stairs.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
You know, I portion control and spend tens of thousands
of dollars to have my guts tied in and out.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
So there's those things. And yeah, Golden.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Twenty five pounds in one week, so will twenty five
pounds in one week? Yeah, the devil, it's possible. It is, well,
look to Neil, it is possible. So Neil, you came
in at what too, fifty?
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Neil two fifty five, and I'm now like two thirty.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Okay, So Neil, in ten weeks the twenty five pounds
a week will weigh five pounds.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
It's right now. It's a give or take. It's about
two pounds a day. Yeah, yeah, you lose weight like crazy.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
All right, and welcome back, Thank you so much, sir.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
There you go, And Will Will, you haven't lost any
weight since I said hello?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Probably not.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
In fact, Michelle Qube just brought in a lovely assortment
of croissants. Oh there we go to the day. Hi Heather,
you're here this entire week. Yes, good morning, good morning.
And Amy comes back and kno, kno, who is fit
and trim?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (03:05):
Got a haircut and a beard trim?
Speaker 3 (03:07):
How can you? I can see the beard trim?
Speaker 1 (03:08):
How can you till?
Speaker 4 (03:09):
I got a haircut? Where is a baseball cap? Whoa, yeah,
you got your haircut.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
It's like a magnet. Somebody rubbed it. York. Welcome back, buddy.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
All right, so we obviously we have a lot of
news over the weekend. Some extraordinary things happened. Yesterday. The
President wanted to make absolutely sure that the announcement of
the not quite almost kind of sort of maybe piece
deal came down on his birthday, and it was it's
(03:47):
just it doesn't stop, that's all.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I didn't put those together.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
I did immediately. I was like the time, you.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Are better than me.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
I did not put it together until I read some
story said something about his persistence about that date, and
then I went, oh my god, I'm stupid.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yeah, just what happened.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
As a matter of fact, let's do it just handle
on the news with Heather Neil and me lead story.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
And that is the case.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
US and Ron have reached their deal, and their deal
is to basically be exactly where we were before the
war started. Okay, how is that for huge success? And
over the next sixty days there will be negotiations going
on in terms of the sanctions against Iran, the US
(04:39):
has over the world has at this point, the straight
hard moves is going to open up just like it
did before. International Waterway free international Waterway, So that goes
back to normal.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
And we've got the.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Nuclear enrichment program to be talked about, the sanctions to
be taught about, the state the state support of terrorism
to be talked about, UH and the unfreezing of uranias
assets the United States. I think it's twenty something billion
dollars to be talked about.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
So that's our deal.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Hey, I want to you know, I don't want to
be the first one to throw logs in your TDS fire.
But didn't we already had this, didn't Obama already have
an agreement that yep?
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Then that we got.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Out of because Trump said it was the worst deal
the United States has ever had.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
He's pulling US out.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
And so now after thirty five billion dollars and three
months of war, we're back to the Obama deal was
lost and yeah, yeah, pretty lives lost. Yeah, and it's
pretty much the same, right, it's.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Exactly the same.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
And what And I really enjoyed the President's statement, I
have authorized the opening of the Strait of horror moves.
What do you do you think the Iranians had anything
to do with it? Now, this is going to be
declared a victory. As you can imagine, Trump is going
to declare this a victory, as the Iranians are going
to declare this a victory. And so a couple of
(06:14):
things are going on here at this point. I say
Iranian has won at this point based on the fact
that prior to the war, the Strait of Hormuz was
an international free waterway that no one controlled.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
It is And.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
Now you and Linda are looking for a villa in Iran.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yes we are.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
And now Iran has gotten the idea that it can
stop ships going in whenever it possibly wants. We are
sure to for it wasn't a big deal right now
it's a huge deal. So I can't wait to see
(06:56):
what the White House says about this, about how we've won,
how the president have prevailed, and by the way, the
president might prevail over the next sixty days. But Iranians
are bastards when it comes to negotiating. No one is
tougher than Iran. The deal with Obama took a couple
of years to put together. So what do you think
is gonna happen over the next sixty days. Not a lot,
(07:21):
not a lot. So so far, so far, nothing so far.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
There's no burger there. It's a nothing burger.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
Oil prices dropped after President Trump announced that agreement had
been reached with Iran yesterday. Oil settled below ninety dollars
a barrel on Friday for the first time since the
first week of the war. But it has a long
way to go to get back under seventy dollars, where
it was before the US and Israel launched their attacks
on Iran in late February.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Yeah, so oil prices are down considerably, and that's not
a shocker. Gas prices you are not going to see
going down a lot and very quickly, because gas prices
do not necessarily follow oil prices. There is a difference,
and you're still going to see I believe prices for
goods inflation going up because the fertilizer that was stopped
(08:17):
for what three months?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
It is.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
It's good news, and at the same time it's not
as good of news as we wanted.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
I love when the gas prices go up immediately when
something happens and then takes forever to come back down.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Oh well, it just you.
Speaker 7 (08:35):
Know, and then they never go back down to where
they were before. They're always still slightly elevated and then
slightly elevated.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
Well they can drop, no, they can drop, but it's
just it just we look at it and going up. Yeah,
it takes a long time. And then there are times
the problem is right now we still need gas. We're
going into our summer season of driving. People are still
driving like maniacs. It has not stopped. It's not going
(09:04):
to stop summer vacation driving.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Well, Route sixty six.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
Didn't it just have its anniversary celebration, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
One hundred years all right.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
Trump a big deal, big doings with the Kennedy Center,
if you remember putting his name up there, and well
it's coming down. So court ruling says has got to
come down. The funny thing to me is that onlookers people,
I guess wanted to rub it in his face by
(09:36):
standing there and watch the actual process of his name
being removed. But I think they put this tarp up
of some times they did to keep them and people
were trying to peek behind it. But it looks like, uh,
it looks like it's it's gone. It's the tar is
still up.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
It is not.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
You know what he's going to start referring to is
the former Trump Kennedy so.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Well, the lawsuit that has been filed saying that the
court got it all wrong. It was the Kennedy day
Kennedy name that was supposed to be removed.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
No, you did it wrong.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
All right.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
Mitch McConnell was sent to the hospital yesterday. He's reportedly
receiving excellent care. His team is not saying what he
was hospitalized for. But he is eighty four years old
and has faced a series of health issues in recent years,
including several falls and missteps and also very publicly freezing
in the middle of speaking on several occasions.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
And he is an old eighty four.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
I was about to say he is a well weathered
eighty four.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Think about it.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Eight looks President.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Trump is eighty, and he is a very young eighty.
I mean, you can't argue about his vile vality, viviality, vitality,
vitel out, yes, his ability to jump around.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Well, he has to stay in shape. He's gonna run again.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Yeah, I think I didn't. Yeah right, de Niro was
like his eighty and who else is eighty? I think
Mick Jagger's close to eighty.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Oh yeah, and Mick Jagger, I mean I saw him
a couple of years ago. If you took a video
of Mick Jagger from fifty years ago and you put
it next to a live performance of his, you could
not tell the difference other than wrinkles on his face.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
That's it.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
Dolly Parton is the same age as Trump. She looks great.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
So A Shaer and Sylvester Stalone.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Yeah, this story I saw yesterday at heartbreaking. You've got
Nara Organic Organics recalling its whole milk baby formula after
a California child two others were sickened because of potentially
fatal infant bauchlism.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Yeah, but no one died. No one died, so the
two kids got ill. Batulism is not fun. But I
think they grabbed it early enough.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Just I mean, can you imagine your you know, tiny
little babies being sickened by this?
Speaker 2 (12:28):
It's just.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
So.
Speaker 7 (12:31):
A group of Iranian Americans say they're going to be
protesting at the World Cup today against for the match
between New Zealand and Iran at Sofi Stadium, and they're
doing it because they believe that Iran should not be here,
it should not be in the United States playing. Naser
(12:53):
Sheriff is the president of the California Society for Democracy.
He says that the football Federal Islamic Republic of Iran
is controlled by the Aslamic Revolutionary Guard.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
And yeah, that's gonna work, isn't it? FIFA of the
United States, Englewood or Sofi?
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Is there another game of SOFI today?
Speaker 4 (13:15):
I think that's the only one that And and how
many games are you going to be? And is uh
not Andre there? No, she's not, well she is, but
she's talking to something. Bill's talking to Ann and I'm
trying to do that. Sokay, How I think this is
the only game today at SOFI? Yeah, US and Paraguay
(13:36):
the first one out for one that it is us.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
This may be the best US team.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Did you watch You said you were going to, did you.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
I watched the you know what, I watched part of it,
but it's soccer is so boring.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
I mean it is.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Come on, give me a break, guy, Football football footballs
never made you watch for Uh no, he doesn't miss it.
He does not miss doesn't miss football. He does used
to play. Oh yeah, yeah, he played. And he has
one of those channels where every game in the world
(14:11):
he can see on multi screen. So I have no idea.
Oh here's the story.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
Oh my goodness, and seeing the video yesterday, this story's insane.
So there's this twenty one year old woman and she's
in Brazil with her fiance and she goes to bungee
jump and the staff you know, kind of pick her
up and they launch her over the edge, but they
didn't attach her safety rope, actual bungee cord, and so
(14:41):
the video shows them doing it and then you start
hearing them. It's one hundred and thirty foot drop, by.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
The way, Yeah, so it's not very high, but it's
still you know, hitting the ground at one hundred and
thirty feet without anything to stop you is still very unpleasant.
Teen stories, dude, Yeah, I know it's unpleasant, you know,
sm summers, but her did you say, when the whole thing?
And did you see the rope that was curled around
on the deck and it had not been attached to her?
Speaker 3 (15:12):
It was it looked like a garden hose.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
It was, why are you smiling? That's the weirdest GD
thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
No, it's pretty bad.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
And you could hear a very loud whoops as she
was launched.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
It was so you heard a lot of people saying
the rope, the rope, and then it pans down, but just.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Horrific, so horrific.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Yeah, they've been charged, I think already.
Speaker 7 (15:38):
Big weekend for basketball fans, especially if you're a Knicks fan.
The NBA Championship Finals were this weekend and the Knicks
came out on top, winning their first NBA championship in
more than fifty years. Celebration got a little wild in
New York, as it does and honestly, probably as it should.
There were damaged police cars, people got a little while,
(16:00):
there was a damage property. Sixty three people arrested, four stabbings.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Which wells York.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Yeah, that's how you celebrate, you torch buses and trash
cans and you beat people.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
Up's a couple of people.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Yeah, everybody running around. I mean it was hysterical, jumping
up and down. Our team has won. My team has won.
My team.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
You know it's not your team. You pay to see
those games? Do you guys get it?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
You didn't play one?
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Yeah, it's not your team. Okay.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
The Bus family, for example, owns the Lakers. Okay, it
is not your team. It is their team.
Speaker 6 (16:39):
They don't own the Lakers anymore, though, do they.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Whatever.
Speaker 7 (16:43):
Listen if Rodgic Johnson owns the Dodgers, what if I
buy a T shirt and a hat, I own the team.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
No, you owned a T shirt and a hat.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
I'm celebrating my team.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
It's not your team. It is not your team. Okay, fine, agree,
our team has won.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Crap? All right, Oh this goes down. I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (17:06):
Washington Post as the stupidest story I have ever read.
So you've got the renovations of the reflecting pool in Washington, DC.
President Donald Trump, I know, is boisterous. I know he's
loud and obnoxious, but he's talking about the beautiful clean
water under his predecessors. It was terrible discussing garbage. I
(17:27):
get it. He's poking the bear everybody. But the fact
that they are going out there looking and finding little
bits of algae now and reporting on it is the
crazy little bit thing.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Yeah, how little bits because the algae I don't see
as against people. I don't know the size of those
algae blooms, any idea.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
So the Trump they said that there were little pockets
of it. Apparently now the Trump officials came out and said,
what you're seeing residual algae from the supply lines.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
It's good.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
You know, it's been dormant for eight weeks, and as
it goes out, they're gonna be cleaning it and cleaning
up that algae. So they're removing that. But it just
is like everybody, listen, there are plenty of big things,
man that you can point out. The algae not newsworthy.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Unless it's a huge bloom.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
You're a huge bloom.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
I am a huge bloom. And that is you used
to be a huge bloom. But you're really moving down bloom.
You are d blooming.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Now you're a tee flower. You're a tea flower, all right.
Speaker 7 (18:38):
LA homeowners who live near Sofi Stadium now renamed LA
stadium for the World Cup. Are making a little bit
of extra money on parking because parking reservation platforms near
the LA Stadium are charging about three hundred dollars on
match days, but homeowners nearby are letting people park in
their private driveways and spots for about fifty to eighty
(19:00):
bucks a piece, making little money.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
They do that during the USC.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Yeah, they do that all those games.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
You know what, Lakers to get that VIP parking at
the Lakers games. Do you know that it's two hundred
dollars a game, crazy for parking and people pay it.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Oh, that's a money grab. That's ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
A horrible plane crash twelve occupants in Missouri and they
were playing the passengers on there planning this big sky
diving day and twelve of them on board and it
crashed in very small towns, a small town of Butler,
population forty three hundred sixty five miles south of Kansas City.
(19:45):
And emergency responders they extinguished the fire shortly after the crash.
All of that, they said, the scene was absolutely brutal.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
And this was right after takeoff and the plane went
in and if you did you see the video of
the plane it's right next to a road where I
believe the pilot was.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
Trying to land on.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
I mean it's just feet from a road that was open,
and it's right adjacent to the airport. I mean, they're
trying to figure out what happened, but whatever it is
is obviously a horrific story. Also, I have a question
regarding these plane crashes and bush crashes and car crashes.
Is the NTSB is investigating you hear that at every
(20:29):
single one of these crashes at the end of it,
and the NTSB is investigating. How many NTSB investigators do
they have? I mean it's crash after crash after crash.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
How many crashes a day?
Speaker 4 (20:46):
Yeah, I know they're crashes constantly. I mean we just
get in the news just a tiny percentage. And so
I always wonder.
Speaker 7 (20:54):
Five there's about forty five NTSB investigators four hundred employees total,
and about forty five that are dedicated field investigators for
crash and how.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Many crashes are there?
Speaker 4 (21:07):
I don't know if you can get that money, maybe
Claude or chat GP can help you. How many investigative
crashes occur in the United States every year?
Speaker 6 (21:18):
I'm going to say nine thousand but that may.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Happen, Yeah, for forty five people. I don't know how
it is. I'll tell you it has to be in
the thousands.
Speaker 7 (21:27):
Just to put a quick button on the previous story
that we talked about, there are twelve hundred civilian aircraft
accidents in the US each year, with forty five investigators.
The majority of those are on private planes, and that
accounts for ninety five percent of all fatal aviation accidents.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Okay, forty five to investigate one hundred, yeah, yeah, all right.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
So Spencer Pratt is calling this a suspicious coincidence because
there was a fire that happened at his campaign office
in the Palisades. Even though arson investigators are investigating, there's
been no proof of any foul play, and the building
owner says that they doesn't believe there was anything nefarious
(22:10):
going on.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Yeah, I'm going to do with Spencer Pratt's story coming
up at eight thirty relative not only do the Palisades
fire and what happened to him, but his quest for
the mayoral race.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
And that's interesting stuff, all.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Right, Tyra Banks.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
It's filed a defamation lawsuit against Netflix and the directors
of this docu series, Reality Check Bump Bump inside America's
Next Top Model. But she's alleging that the producers totally
stripped down her three and a half hour interview that
she did into sixteen minutes, and part of these she says,
(22:48):
it's manipulation to support this, you know, this false narrative
and all of this. And she says that she actually
took accountabilities for certain things and that all ended up
on the cutting floor. So she's going after it. And
of course she is the one who created I think,
the series and the show and all that stuff originally.
Speaker 7 (23:08):
And oddly enough has been accused of what she is
claiming that they did to her too many many models
over the years.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Yeah, cutting down things and making them.
Speaker 7 (23:17):
Look changing the narrative and napping California beach gourds swept
out to see here a woman was killed and another
in critical condition after they were sleeping on the beach
and dangerous currents came up and swept them away. This
happened in Santa Cruz County. There's course a big king tides,
lots of swells and warnings to stay safe on the
(23:38):
beaches right now.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
So just napping on the beach and a wave, well.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
They were near this place where what do they call it?
It's a keyhole key hole being water comes up. It's
like a geyser.
Speaker 6 (23:50):
Thing in Yellow Bank Beach.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Yeah, and it's just you don't want to be here
or there. Just it was a freak It was a
freak wave that came and grabbed them. But I was
still I mean, you're going to get anywhere near that,
probably not. This is why I don't go to the beach,
by the way. I refuse to go because you'll die
at the beach. You know that, don't you. It'll kill you.
That's all. You go to the beach and you're dead.
(24:13):
Also a quick question about the beach, or a quick
word about the beach. You know, if you really want sand,
you know, up your butt crack, which happens at the beach.
Why wouldn't you just go to the car hardware store
and pick up some sandpaper and do the same thing.
You stay dry, you don't worry about it. You don't
die and rip tides.
Speaker 6 (24:33):
Yeah, with the hot tips.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
Last story of the morning. Jean Shallatt, if you remember him,
the big curly hair. They said he looked like a
muppet in his mustache and the way he talked, and
you remember he would use puns.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Oh, he was wonderful. He was wonderful. Everybody loved him.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
He's dead now, and.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
Yeah at one hundred. He died at one hundred. That
is the life well lived. You cannot argue about someone
dying at one hundred.
Speaker 7 (25:03):
