Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
am six forty.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Six forty bill Handle Here, What a morning. And we're
moving topics around like crazy because it's a live show
and we intend to do that to make us even
more scrambled than we normally feel as discombobulated as this
show is. And I get a lot of comments on that.
Another word Amy discombobulated. Today's Royal Grand Pooba. Oh, we

(00:37):
do our word for the day. Anyway, This is well.
The big news, of course, is the President and he's
at Davos right now. It's a question and answer period
subsequent to his speech, which went an hour twelve and
it was nothing short of spectacular. I mean, there was

(00:59):
Neil and I. We're listening to it during the breaks,
and the only thing that I this is the one
time where I wish I wasn't broadcasting and just sitting
back and watching TV and hearing every word of what
the President uttered. And as you can imagine, we let
me start really quickly with greenland. That was the big issue.

(01:23):
He actually said he wasn't going to talk about greenland.
He said, I'm not going to talk about greenland, and
then he immediately went into his Greenland spiel, and the
acquisition of Greenland is absolutely critical. It is essential for
the security of America. You know what it's that's not
just crazy talk. I mean it does have it's in

(01:45):
the middle of the sea lanes, it does have the
extraordinary resources that it does have. As he said, it's
just a piece of ice. And it is just a
piece of ice.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Any other world power gone after it or talked about it.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
No, no, But going to be my next point, and
that is we're effectively gonna save Greenland from the Chinese
and the Russians, even though the Chinese and the Russians
are making no attempt whatsoever to secure Greenland. And he
has slammed the European allies, for example, slamming Denmark is

(02:21):
as un grateful for refusing to relinquish Denmark, I mean Greenland. Okay,
so let me get this right. You are not relinquishing.
You said, you're not giving us or allowing us to
buy Greenland, and you are ungrateful. And then he went
on to point out that we saved Greenland, we saved

(02:43):
Denmark's as during World War Two, and he actually used
the phrase and damn and I I was always hoping
the President would say that if it weren't for us,
you'd be speaking German. Come on, that's that's, by the way,
maybe true for all I know, and talked about how
Denmark put up such opposition and was so brave when

(03:06):
the Germans came in six hours. He said, the Germans
came in, and it took six hours for you to surrender.
I mean, where do you go with this? He also
talked about the Board of Peace. He did mention that
I'm only going to hit the highlights here because there's
so much and we've got a lot more to talk

(03:28):
about with Newsome and what's going on there. He spent
a lot of time talking about how great he is.
That's typical. And he talked about Joe Biden and how
Joe Biden had ruined the United States, ruined the economy
and here inherited a mess and he straightened it all out.
Prices are low, the United States economy is on a

(03:49):
role It couldn't be better. It's the greatest economy in
the history of the world. He is the greatest president
who ever lived. I mean, typical, typical bomb bass from
the President. But he did go into oh. He also
laid into Europe for their immigration and economic policies, staying

(04:10):
that part, stating the parts of the continent are no
longer recognizable, and he threatened to impose tariffs up to
twenty five percent on eight NATO members who are actually
fighting him on the invasion of Greenland or the taking
over the acquisition of Greenland. So the Board of Peace, okay,

(04:32):
he talked about that now is going to not only
did he sty did he create the cease firing Gaza,
but his Board of Peace will then rebuild Gaza. He
spent a lot of time talking about the domestic economic
miracle that his administration created in the first year. He
talked about housing and affordability, and he did end up

(04:55):
talking about a few things, for example, interest rates. He
said interest rates are way too high. He nailed the
banks for charging money. He actually asked the question that
I have been asking, following my lead, of course, because
he listened to this show religiously. And that is what
happened to the usury laws. You know, we used to

(05:15):
have usury laws. Usury I mean usury is denounced in
the Bible. Jesus denounced his usury. Usury is charging exorbitant
interest rates, and there used to be usury laws in
the United States and they went by the wayside. Why
because the big banks, the big financial institutions were able

(05:38):
to pull that off. And he talked about that's a problem.
He talked about energy, and this is the one I love. Okay,
Europe is sort of known as the new green energy
part of the world. He condemned them attacking windmills as
ineffective in destroying the land. He confirmed reconfirmed his commitment

(06:02):
to unlocking the liquid gold, oil and gas under US soil.
And he talked about how the green philosophy is the
green new scam. It's all a scam. Alternative energy is

(06:23):
all a scam. And of course the Democrats one of
my favorite lines, and this one doesn't have a lot
to do with a whole lot, But as he went
off on one of his little spins, he talked about
how he is stopping the drugs from coming into the
United States and the Democrats went ahead and allowed all
of this to happen. And you know, to some extent,

(06:45):
he's right, because it was easier to bring drugs in
the United States before Trump came into power. And so
he talked about and mentioned that they're even bringing drugs
in by submarine. We caught two submarines that were full
of drugs. Can you imagine submarines bringing in drugs? And
then and I quote now, the Democrats said they were

(07:07):
fishing submarines and we all know that submarines don't fish.
Okay to La Unified School District, which I just love
to talk about because I am a victim of LA Unified.
Actually I'm not a victim. I did okay. When I
went to school, it was pretty good. Well, today La

(07:29):
Unified has a lot of problems, as you've heard, and
there is a lawsuit that has just been filed against
La Unified School District for well it's a DEI program,
its inclusion program. And what the lawsuit says is that
white students it's gonna have some white students have been
discriminated against because the school board, the school district is

(07:53):
allocating more resources to schools where at least seventy percent
of the students are non white. Poor minority schools get
more money than white schools. Now, the argument is do
they need it? Who the hell knows? We do know
that poor students and they're not getting any better. To say,

(08:14):
the least. It doesn't matter how much money is being
thrown at them, because well, I'll tell you about that.
What I believe is the real problem here. And the
defense is, and it goes both ways. There's two sides
of this. One is that the minority students are at
a disadvantage. They do need more resources, they do need
more help, which means it costs more money, and so

(08:36):
the resources should be given to them more so than
in schools that are primarily white. The other side of
it is, hey, there can't be discrimination boys and girls.
If we are a company of a country of non discrimination,
how can you discriminate? You can't argue non discrimination here. Well,
the defense is, we have had a history of discrimination.

(08:56):
We have minority students have been screwed over by I
were virtually every part of government, including education. They have
and now it's leveling the playing field. Well, I talked
about leveling the playing field when I did an interview
with Jesse Jackson thirty years ago. It was leveling the
playing field, and I asked him does the playing field

(09:20):
ever get leveled? And he basically said not in the
foreseeable future. And I said, what if it never gets leveled?
And he said, then we do what we're doing now,
and that is put more resources in affirmative action in
and it never stops. Okay, well, this lawsuit saying you

(09:43):
got it has to stop now if you base it
on the achievement of minority kids. And here is where
the issue is. It's not so much the teaching. What
I think is the culture. If a kid is growing
up in a family. Let me give you an example.
You've got a black kid family where dad has gone
and he's got several other kids, and they live and

(10:04):
moms is working three jobs just to feed the kids.
You grow up in a very different culture than what
my kids, for example, had, and that is tutors if
they needed it, went to a private school, and you
would think that my kids would do better. Strangely enough,
they didn't, which is kind of interesting. I have to

(10:27):
yet figure that one out, and I have to talk
to them about it today. If they under i'd write
to them, but they can't read. So the point I'm
making is that this lawsuit is moving forward, and it
could be that the court is the federal court. It
may just be that those resources are now going to
be spent equally. By the way the school board. Of course,

(10:50):
I love it. Typical you know, defendant political statement that
Los Angeles Unified remains firmly committed to a suring all
students have meaningful access to services and enriching educational opportunities. Yeah,
what does that mean? That's Babbel talk. It always is, Bill.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Why didn't you know we talk about reparations and the like,
and everybody talks about money, which I think is stupid.
Money means nothing unless you, uh, you know, have an
education and all those things. Why didn't we early on
as a country, uh, give free education to African Americans?

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Give them up because Americans, because Africa weren't even big difference.
I understand, And you're right, but history, not all white
people are rich, not all white people have money, understood, understood,
But it's socioeconomic. I was using two examples, extreme examples
on each side, and the reality of minority students, particularly

(11:55):
black students. And you have to separate blacks from all
of the minorities in this concrete slavery is the original
sin of this country. Agreed, Black kids couldn't go to
school because they weren't human, because they weren't meant to
go to school. And have any kind of a career.
They were meant to do menial jobs. That's all they
were good for. That was the philosophy of this country.

(12:17):
And that's what the Civil War, the civil rights movement
tried to undo because even though the law says everybody's equal,
the Jim Crow laws made absolutely sure that they were.
So are you start there?

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Why didn't we just look at it and say, listen,
it's about money, doesn't mean garbage. People are human, They
want to create, they want to make things in their
own success. Why didn't we just give opportunity? Because we didn't.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Because we didn't because that's the way African Americans and
other minorities are treated, that's all. And we just thought
of it differently. And now see here's the problem. Now,
the civil rights movements saying that African Americans are still
being discriminated against. And man, if that's the case, I
will tell you white people say they're being discriminated against.

(13:02):
And there's an argument they have. I can't get into
the fire department because I'm not a minority. I can't
get that job. Both can be true, yeah, and they
both are true. All right, Hey, here's the stat I
want to throw at you. And you know, I've seen
this happen in my lifetime, and if you're anywhere near
my age, you can also have experienced this. Women now

(13:23):
outnumber men in law, medical, veterinary, dental schools. Women earn
sixty percent of bachelor's degrees. Male College of Roman has
fallen nearly four percent. Women are earning forty percent more
doctoral degrees than men across the board, across the professions.
It's women now. How many times and not so much anymore?

(13:47):
But how many times have you heard the first woman
too and an insert name of you know, be an
airline pilot, be a commander of a ship. I mean,
you get a lot of that. And I always got
really sick of that because to me, it's the first
woman or the first African American. That to me means nothing.
It's just that just shows that we're moving towards a
somewhat egalitarian society. But I remember the first time I

(14:14):
was on an airplane and I heard from the cockpit, Hi,
this is the captain speaking, and it was a woman's voice.
And I was sitting next to someone I didn't know,
and I remember turning to this man and saying, we're
going to crash. Listen, life is over women women pilots. Well,

(14:42):
the reality is that you know, it doesn't take a
lot of upper body strength to be a pilot. You know,
when they turn that yoke, it's not like they're grunting
and groaning, and it's not put together with all kinds
of gears that have to be turned. No, it's the
bottom line is women do professions, and they do them

(15:04):
well as well or better if you look at all
the stats, and so this is a real problem for
men and schools particularly. You know what is the reason
this is happening. Well, Pew Research looked into this and
said men have a lot more options because they can
go into what is still considered male jobs, male careers.

(15:28):
For example, linemen. You know we see those all the
time when there's a storm and the power line goes down.
Rarely do you ever see a woman up there. It's
a men's job, is what it is. Also, you've got
certain other jobs a forkliff driver, et cetera, that you
just think of a man's job. Women generally generally don't
go into those. And when you talk about the jobs

(15:50):
that men traditionally do, and you consider it's a male's job.
It's a men's job. You know. That's not a doctor,
that's not a veterinarian, it's not someone who is practicing law.
Women have now overcome the number of people or males
who are going to put to school. And when I

(16:12):
went to law school, I'm trying to remember, it was
that how many women were there relative to the number
of men. I don't remember. So does that help you?
Here we go, we'll use that for a promo. When
I went to law school, how many women were in
the class? I don't remember. This is deep, very very

(16:35):
deep stuff. Okay, moving out, Okay, we're moving into another direction.
Today is a little strange. Hey, you know, I'm trying
to figure out why everything's so screwed up this morning.
A couple of things. I think there are three reasons.
Reason Number one is because we're changing this thing because
of what happened at Davos with the President speaking. We're
interspersing things as the news is coming down. A matter

(16:58):
of fact, the latest was I'm pretty up from and
it is ten or twelve pages that talk about what happened.
So there's that. Also. The other reason is colonoscopy. I
know the two aren't particularly related. But tomorrow I get
a colonoscopy, and needless to say, I am noodling about

(17:19):
that for some reason. I'm thinking and not particularly thrilled
about it, especially the prep the night before, and they
don't use general anesthesia, so I'm going to be wide awake,
and I just I'm one of those people that don't
enjoy that. And you're going to be awake, Yeah, Twilight's sleep.
I don't do well with twilight sleep.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Why aren't you doing propofile?

Speaker 2 (17:42):
I asked for and they don't do it anymore. Propofile
is the best, of course, it's the best. It knocks
you out completely and you feel like you had a
wonderful nap. Yeah, no, you don't even remember. I mean
some of the best sex I've ever had was with
my partner who was on propo phil propofol. I mean
it was just not a lot of movement, but very

(18:05):
very satisfied. And the other reason is that because I
can't drink coffee, I can't. I can only drink water
all day today I am addicted to coffee. I mean,
there is no question about it. I woke up this
morning usually go right to the coffee machine, and espresso machine.
I might add in Amy who just got one, and

(18:29):
I go straight to the coffee machine and make a
couple of cups of coffee. I'm just on water today.
And if you are addicted to coffee the way I
am addicted to coffee, guess what you literally go through withdrawals,
not crazy withdrawals, but and I'm in the middle of withdrawals.
So here we are coffee and withdrawal, the colonna, the

(18:49):
colonoscopy tonight without tomorrow without propofol, and just in general,
it's just one of those days, right, Okay, what else
we're we gonna do? Oh a quick reminder, Ask Handle Anything,
which occurs every every Friday at eight thirty after Foody

(19:11):
Friday with Neil we do the fork Report or fork
Report kind of segment and we need your help on
that on the Ask Handle Anything. And here's how it
works is we need your questions and because it's has
to handle anything, so you go to the iHeartRadio app
during the show from five am to nine am, then

(19:32):
Bill handle Show and wake up call and just click
on the microphone in the upper right hand corner because
the iHeartRadio app will be broadcasting our show, click on
the microphone in the upper right hand corner and you
will record a question or two. You got fifteen twenty
seconds to record. I don't want your opinion. And the
whole point of this was created for the sole purpose

(19:53):
of embarrassing me. Neil chooses the questions and frankly, the
more moronic more or I appreciate it. Just to prove
the world I feel like Donald Trump, you guys were
a bunch of morons. Europe is a bunch of idiots.
Great fun and if you had not listened to or
parts of what Trump did this warning, it was spectacular. Also,

(20:16):
what's going on right now with the Supreme Court. It
is hearing arguments on how independent the FED is and
will no doubt be talking about that tomorrow because the
arguments are right now in front of the Court where
the Trump administration is arguing that the FED should not
be as independent as it is. It's the firing of

(20:39):
Lisa Cook, who is one of the members of the FED,
and Trump wanted her out and is making moves and
did make moves to fire her, and she filed a lawsuit.
And it all has to do with the independence of
the Federal Reserve and that is a big, big deal.
I mean, some of this is fun with the Trump administration,

(21:01):
and some of it is not so much fun. This
one not so much fun. Okay, some good stuff coming up.
US overdose that's have fallen fallen, fallen, and President Trump
is taking a lot of credit for this, as he should,
because a lot of what he is doing has helped

(21:21):
the issue enormously. We'll be back with that, KFIAM six.
You've been listening to The Bill Handle Show. Catch My
