(01:10):
to take us to the rodeo when we were younger.
It took us two things every year at the Forum,
the rodeo and the Globetrotters every year. He really enjoyed
both of those. And to see a rodeo up close
in person is great. Oh man. The bull riding the last,
so they're just running these animals all over the place
(01:33):
is terrific.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Old school, so it's so exciting.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
You gotta go. Are you gonna go?
Speaker 2 (01:38):

kid and I would watch the bull riders, I would

to get up and walk out into like the arena hallway.
I just couldn't even watch.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Did you go to the farm or where'd you see
Long Beach?
Speaker 2 (01:53):

them in other states as well, and it's just I
love bull It's so great.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yeah, it really is great. These guys are I don't
know how they survived that, you know, the abuse that
they take and the falls that they take and they
get right back up on. These are the that's got
to be the toughest pound for pound, the toughest athletes
in the world. It's got it. But anyway, bull riding
it's going to be at the Toyota Arena in Ontario,
(02:22):
and they picked the right area. You know, you can't
do bull riding in Westwood or West Hollywood. You got
to be out there where the tougher guys are out
there in the Inland Empire. And that's what they did.
Toyota Arena in Ontario this Friday and Saturday. Big to

There's a guy that suffered a heart attack. He was
doing something like bull riding. Uh oh no, he's playing
pickleball doll.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
You know, one minute you're there and you're enjoying time
with friends and uh.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
And then you're playing pickleball.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Honestly, it hit me so fast, I just I dropped,
you know, I just dropped on the back of my head.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
Pickleball player in San Juan Hills High school football coach
Rob Frith remembered nothing after his heart stopped on the
court last month until he woke up in an ambulance.
He told the crowd at Orange Canny Fire Authority Station
fifth nine that his life was saved by San Clementy
firefighter John Rawlins.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I am one thousand percent.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
That's a great story. Let's get that guy's name out
there again.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
By San Clementy firefighter John Rawlins.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
John Rowlins and San Clementy firefighter. You deserve an adda boy, buddy.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
By San Clementy firefighter John Rawlins.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
I am one thousand percent an advocate for You have
to act. You can't hesitate, you know, if someone goes
down and use the situation. If you don't feel paulse
no breathing, you have to start chess compressions. Chess compressions
saved my life.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Rowlins, who was about to celebrate his third anniversary on
the job, was off duty and playing pickleball in Orange
County on the next court. As soon as he saw
Frith go down, he rushed over and spent ten to
fifteen minutes giving chess compressions until paramedics arrived.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
It took fifteen minutes for Paramagic to show up. Nah,
something going on there. Somebody didn't call quick enough, because
they're pretty quick in that part of Orange County.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
At first, being there and making sure that he was stable,
he was still breathing. He was just unconscious, and as
soon as he started to deteriorate, I just knew you
have to start chest compressions keep the blood circulating.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Several other things went in Rob Frith's favor that day,
including the fact that the sheriff's deputy who showed up
at the pickleball court had an AED in his patrol car.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Wow, how about that zapped his heart back to working shape.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Rawlins, along with a retired firefighter and nurse, all worked
to keep Frith alive with the defribillator and chess compressions.
Doctors treating him for the sudden cardiac arrest eventually found
an undetected heart defect.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
So this means everything.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
You were are forever here along with the other men
that were there with you that day.
Speaker 7 (05:49):
I cannot thank you enough.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Is that the wife, Ellia. Is that the pickleballer's wife
that speaking, so this means everything? Or is that his
pickleball partner, So this means everything.
Speaker 8 (06:02):
We were are forever here along with the other men
that were there with you that day.
Speaker 9 (06:06):
I cannot thank you enough.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Fritz's wife and son and daughter his wife, His wife
was pretty emotional about that. I don't know if my
wife would be that emotional. If Ie I was out
for ten minutes and looked like I may have been
on my way to Forest Lawn, I think she'd have
to pull some hairs out of her nose to get
some tears rolling. I don't know it come natural. Yeah,
(06:29):
Bang missed him so much. I want you any leave us.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Fritz's wife and son and daughter shared in the emotional
reunion with firefighter Rawlins.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
I felt good.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
It was really cool to be to know that we
had the right people there at the right time to
keep a family.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Together in San Clementy Michelle Gelie Cebsla.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I wonder if I was playing pickleball and I had
a heart attack, and my wife was my partner. I
wonder if she would call nine to eleven or Mutual
of Omaha to see if our policy has been paid up.
I don't know, pick them. I think it's a pick them.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
On the Hello, are our premium's current?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Can I pick the check up? He's sweet, He's not
dead yet, I know, but doesn't look good. Can I
pick that check up tomorrow? Yeah? I'll need at least
half of it up front. And I do have life
insurance for exactly this reason. The only reason I have
life insurance is so my wife when I do go
because she's younger than me, She's ten years younger than
(07:31):
I am. So she doesn't have to go home with
the first guy she meets at the bar. You know,
she can be a little more choosy with a couple
of grand dinners. Now, yeah, right, yeah? Now. But if I,
you know, I borrow off the life insurance policy and
take that to the track, maybe she will have to
go home with the first pickleball or she meets. I
(07:53):
don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Not if you double it for her.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
That's right. She could be living in Beverly Hills yeah,
he'll the Beverlea. That's possible, but the history doesn't reveal
that that's even close.
Speaker 9 (08:07):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
All Right, we've got some football games this weekend. We
have four games this weekend. Next weekend will be two,
and then two weeks later we'll have the Super Bowl.
So this weekend, I'm gonna give you the times and
the dates. You're gonna want to know this. The Saturday games,
Buffalo Bills will be in Bellio's hometown of Denver, Colorado
(08:38):
to play the Broncos. Bellio. That game is Saturday at
one thirty pm hour time.
Speaker 8 (08:44):
I will be watching.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
I bet you will be.
Speaker 8 (08:46):
What do you feel about it?
Speaker 1 (08:47):
What's your I think the Broncos are gonna win. I
think they are, hope so and I think they're gonna
win by seven points.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Just seven?
Speaker 8 (08:57):
Yes, what's the spread?
Speaker 10 (08:59):
Do you know?
Speaker 1 (09:00):
I don't I think Broncos are or I don't know.
Somebody told me yesterday. I think it's a five point spread.
I don't know who's favorite. But then the second game
on Saturday starts at five o'clock. That's gonna be a
good one. San Francisco at Seattle. San Francisco at Seattle
five pm on Saturday. Then on Sunday, the early game
(09:24):
is the Texans versus the Patriots that'll be in Boston.
That game starts at noon on Sunday, noon sharp. And
then the second game is the game I'll be watching
Rams Bears starting at three point thirty. I'm going to
the track with a buddy on Sunday, and then I'm
(09:48):
gonna come home and watch it, probably slightly in delay
until I catch up.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
It looks like the Buffalo Denver game. Buffalo's favored one
and a half.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Oh, Buffalo's favorite, Okay.
Speaker 6 (09:57):
I mean plus one and a half. I assume that
they means their favorite, Buffalo plus one and a half. No,
then that means Denvers. Oh, Denver's one and a half. Yeah,
I don't think.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Well, that means Buffalo's getting a point and a half.
It's Buffalo plus a point and a half. So Buffalo
is what'd you say, Buffalo's plus one and a half.
Speaker 8 (10:16):
They're minus one and a half.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
With Buffalo's minus one and a half. Yeah, I see Buffalo. Okay, Okay,
that swing could go either way. It's about pick them,
it's about almost pick them. But the Bears and the
Rams started three thirty pm on Sunday, three thirty pm
Sunday is the Rams and the Bears, and those are
(10:40):
the last two four, last eight teams involved. Interesting, So
after this weekend, there'll only be two games. After this
weekend and next weekend will both games I think will
be on Sunday.
Speaker 8 (10:57):
Usually oh in the Rams Chicago, it's going to be
a snowy game, old.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Snowy fifteen degrees in Chicago when that game starts. Chili
Chili after Doom. So that'll be a lot of fun
to watch. So again, let's recap Bill's Broncos one thirty Saturday,
forty nine Ers, Seahawks five pm Saturday, Texans Patriots noon
(11:24):
on Sunday, Rams Bears three thirty pm on Sunday. So
you got two games on Saturday, one thirty and five,
two games on Sunday noon and three thirty.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
Well, the smartest things they did do during the NFL
playoffs is they don't play the next game until the
other one's completely over. Yeah, so it maybe later games
might be a little later.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
I guarantee you the Rams game is not going to
start at three thirty because they're not going to the Patriots.
Texans are not going to be done by three thirty.
They did it smarter on Saturday, where it's one thirty
and five. But there's no way that that that tech
Sis Patriots game will be over at three thirty. There's
no way. The first half is going to take to
almost two hours probably, and then there's a long halftime,
(12:09):
and I think the Rams game will start closer to
four o'clock. So there you go, dig doing with you.
There's a grocery hack. Have you heard about this? Use
AI to grocery hack your grocery bill and save yourself
some money. Well, what's going on out there with the AI?
Speaker 8 (12:28):
I think these prices are literally so crazy.
Speaker 11 (12:31):
It's an all too familiar site at the register.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
I don't think you guys are going to be ready
for me to tell you how much I just found
groceries rising grocery.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
I'm ready. I think I'm all set. Where she says
we're not going to be ready, I am all in.
I'm all set to hear this number.
Speaker 7 (12:47):
I don't think you guys are going to be ready,
you're ready to tell you spound.
Speaker 11 (12:51):
Groceries rising grocery prices putting a consistent strain on American's wallets.
Families that haven't had a wage increase in the last
few year years, how are you surviving? The price of
things is starting to actually shock me so much.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Me too, I can't believe how much everything costs.
Speaker 11 (13:09):
Overall, shoppers are paying two point four percent more for
groceries than they were a year ago.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
I went to Pizza High. Now we got a medium
pizza and a personal pan pizza. I think it was
like thirty dollars or thirty with tip. It was like
thirty four to thirty five bucks.
Speaker 11 (13:25):
With some items up strikingly high, like coffee up nineteen
point eight percent, round beef up fifteen and a half percent,
and non alcoholic beverages up five point one percent. Shoppers
looking for ways to save are turning to popular grocery
store brands for deals.
Speaker 12 (13:44):
Store brands have continued to gain market share over the
national brands, which equates a course to market share in
almost every category that private brands have a.
Speaker 11 (13:56):
Place, and with more than ninety percent of its products privately.
Discount chain Aldi recently announced a major expansion.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Oh yeah, all these opening up like one hundred and
eighty five new stores. They're taking off.
Speaker 11 (14:08):
Opening more than one hundred and eighty new stores this
year as consumers continue to prioritize lower cost options.
Speaker 7 (14:16):
Grocery prices in twenty twenty five and some I would
say painful, frustrating, but US consumer has been impressively resilient.
Speaker 13 (14:25):
And that Aldi mentioned is for my father in law, Craig.
He is a regular shopper of Aldy. And I know
everyone out there, You guys are trying all of these
different hacks. You are smart about your budgets. AI is
a new way that can really help you with that
grocery strategy. You give it a budget for food, asked
for help planning meals, getting recipes within a set amount,
(14:46):
things like chat, sheepyt Gemini, Claude.
Speaker 11 (14:48):
They can help you.
Speaker 13 (14:49):
Find substitutes for expensive ingredients. Another fun feature, take a
picture of what you're shopping for, upload it and AI
will compare the price points of value.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
I use these things.
Speaker 13 (15:01):
I've actually taken a picture of what's in my refrigerator
and said make.
Speaker 11 (15:05):
A meal for me with what I've got.
Speaker 13 (15:06):
They will recommend ideas and options for you.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
I do that too.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
I say that's interesting. You don't take a photo of
your refrigerator and say, hey, make me a meal out
of all this crap.
Speaker 9 (15:16):
I do that too, I said, who can I cold?
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Morning sense of humor? It's different, man, it's different.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Come on to me playing again. That was so great?
Speaker 1 (15:32):
All right, I don't understand it, but I'll play. I
do that too, I said, who can I cold? I
don't understand. I don't understand that morning humor. I was
(15:54):
on a flight. I was going from l A to
New York. And this is like one of those six
am flights you had to get to the report by
four am. And I'm sitting there this twenty years ago,
and the the guy next to me hits the button
and says to the flight attendant, do you guys have
blankets or pillows? And she goes, how about one of each?
(16:17):
And they both laughed, and I'm like, wait, wait, oh,
that is funny.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Tell us, tell us how that's hilarious.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Very I don't get it, man, I don't get it.
You don't That morning humor is odd. It is odd.
People up there, you know that happy and hyper in
the morning.
Speaker 8 (16:35):
Nighttime humor it's it's different.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
It's different. You don't know that.
Speaker 9 (16:40):
It's different.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Balloon. You know, you're the Caraburnet of radio.
Speaker 8 (16:44):
You should know.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Show wasn't on at seven am, not a ten pm.
Speaker 8 (16:50):
Okay for reason fair Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
And comedy clubs don't open at seven am. They open
at night. It's a different sense of humor at night
than there is in the morning. I'm just telling you
that that's true.
Speaker 9 (17:02):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty Conway Show.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I heard Angel Martinez give a shout out to Olive.
Who is her dog today?
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Birthday?
Speaker 5 (17:15):
Olive?
Speaker 1 (17:16):
You know the day you're dog's born.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Yeah, pretty much. When I when I adopted her, they
gave me a yeah, they gave me a ballpark. They said,
oh yeah, she was born like the first probably the
second week of January. So I just called it the fourteenth.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Okay, all right, I got that. I could get within
about a year. I think I think our dog's thirteen,
maybe twelve, I don't know. But we don't celebrate her birthday.
We have no idea when she was born.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Oh well, just make a day up and then that's
her birthday.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Just lie to her.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I don't wine tour that's when.
Speaker 8 (17:54):
We did finn Aga in my mom's cat that Jason
and Silaco rescued.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Remember made up a birthday.
Speaker 8 (18:00):
Yeah, we made up a birthday because, like what Angel
just said, you kind of estimate around when they were born,
and then we gave a designated date. Okay, so fifteenth, Finnegan, So.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Come your birthday next year. We just sort of ballpark.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Then we're talking abouto either either either yeah you will
ballpark yours too? Yeah? Yeah, we'll attack you on you know,
a ballpark of days.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
That's oat. I don't know. So today's olives How many
years old is olive human or a dog?
Speaker 2 (18:37):
She is eleven years old?
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Well she's eleven dog.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Years, eleven people years.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Eleven people years. I'm sorry you've had that dog that long?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yeah, she was like three months old.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Wow, I didn't know that. I thought you that dog
was recent, like the last couple of years.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
No, she's eleven. I've got I've had her, you know,
pretty much from the start.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
That's cool.
Speaker 8 (18:59):
So eleven dogs, little dog. So she's like sixty to
sixty five, right, that's about this.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
I think it's seventy seven, isn't it.
Speaker 6 (19:06):
They say it's seven, but as they get older. That
number actually, yes, exactly, Oh it does.
Speaker 9 (19:11):
Ye.
Speaker 8 (19:11):
Yeah, so she's like sixty five.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
She's one hundred percent cute.
Speaker 8 (19:18):
She is cute, that is true.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
Yes, very cute.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Dog.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
I bet, I bet Angel has that poster. Let me look,
she's one hundred percent poster. She's a happy birthday like
a poster. She bought it oz or the mall that
says she's one hundred percent cute. I bet that poster
(19:41):
exists and it's in Angel's house.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
She does have a happy birthday Olive on her Instagram.
That's right, she is cute. You know, you guys are
going to just die. We had a party four here
at the studio here today.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Jeez, this is all of the there.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Yeah, she's going a little sleeping. She's sleeping underneath most
his birthdays in February.
Speaker 8 (20:07):
Can I bring him in?
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Oh wait, where is Oliver? Let me see a picture?
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Where is it with the where she is right now?
Or her birthday post?
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Her birthday post Instagram?
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Yeah, yeah, it's on Instagram. You can post it, bellio.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Let me see, all right? Where what is what is? Oh?
This is that heard? Let me say? Oh the birthday post?
Oh my God. And who are the other dogs her?
Speaker 2 (20:34):
The ones on that front picture, Yeah, they're just stickers.
But there's other of her little dog fronts throughout the real.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
What kind of dog is that? That's a big dog.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah, she's about fifty one fifty two pounds and she
is a hurting mix. She's got a it's called kelpie.
She's got some kelpie n her. She's very smart, Yeah,
she's she's uh, really cool. She's really smart, a lot
of fun.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
Looks like a smart dog.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Little good little dog. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
We had Ernie and he was a horrible dog. He
bit everybody, he pooped everywhere, he urinated everywhere, And I
missed that dog more than any dog we had. It's weird.
It's weird. I think it's like like, you know, when
your dog misbehaves for thirteen years, you sort of missed
(21:24):
that energy around the house. Yeah, you know, it sucks.
It's horrible. And then we have an Abby, who is
his sister born in the same you know lot or
breed or bucket or whatever they do litter there, and
she's been around a year and a half after he
(21:46):
passed away, and she doesn't seem to miss him at
all at all. She seems much happier without him around
because he used to. He used to boss around and
push her around and eat her food and attacker and
it was just like an older couple, you know, if
both women and at both the man and the woman
(22:09):
are in a relationship, and the man's eighty five and
the woman's like eighty. At the end, she gets tired
of that. You know, the anger, because guys when they
get old and they're dying, are angry as f They
get really angry. I think they call it sunsetters disease
(22:29):
or something, but they get really hostile and angry at
the end. And sometimes not all the time, but sometimes
the wife doesn't mind when he slides into forest lawn.
You know, give break there at the end. I get
that though, I get it anyway. Happy a birthday to Olive. Now, Bellio,
When is your dog's birthday?
Speaker 8 (22:49):
Moose's birthday is February sixth.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
And what's the other one? Mays? His birthday is August fifteenth,
And do you do any anything special for them?
Speaker 8 (22:58):
They get puppy patties from in and out, from in
and out.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Ah, that's their birthday.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
That's it.
Speaker 8 (23:05):
Okay, Well, they get to go and they go on
a ride.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
And then the rest of the hot time they're just
in jail the house. No, once a year they get out.
Speaker 8 (23:14):
No, they get out a lot.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
How often do you take them to in and out?
Once a year?
Speaker 8 (23:19):
No? No, No, we go other times and they eat
special occasions they eat.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
And they eat the puppy patties. Yeah, in the car.
Speaker 8 (23:30):
No, usually take them back home and put it in
their kibble.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Oh I see, okay, so they don't get the full patty. No,
because that could upset their stomach.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
I don't know. I don't over indulge them.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah, because when you change diets with a dog. Oh, yes,
good luck. Yes, you got about it. About a week
of high notes of three D house of interesting you
know duties.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
You have to be very careful with that, Yeah, very
very careful.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
All right. The Rams are playing Sunday. It starts at
three thirty. It's going to be fifteen degree and probably snowing.
Bellio calls is calling for snow. So that will be
a great Sunday afternoon activity for you to watch your
Los Angeles Rams take on the Chicago Bears three point
(24:14):
thirty pm on Sunday.
Speaker 9 (24:18):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Those reports coming out of Minneapolis. There's been another ice
shooting involving a federal law enforcement officer in North Minneapolis.
A lot of people in the street, and it's getting
a little hairy in the Twin Cities. Let's find out.
Let's go to a ka r E our sister station,
channel eleven for a live.
Speaker 14 (24:41):
Report city officials.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Or from this is Minneapolis TV Live Channel.
Speaker 14 (24:47):
Eleven DHS or ice, which is not unusual. We've found
it difficult to get responses very quickly from federal agencies
during this metro surge, as they're calling it. Riah, looks
like maybe more people arriving at the scene are they leaving?
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Okay? So what happened was a couple of people there
thought it'd be interesting to attack some of the ICE
agents with shovels, and the ICE agent shot the guys
that were doing that, or at least one of the
guys that were doing that. And so that's what's happening
in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Twin Cities in Minnesota. That's what's
(25:29):
going on all right. The Los Angeles Kings play tonight.
The Golden Knights are in town. Maybe you're in the
car driving to the game, or well you're probably already there.
It starts in nine minutes. But the Golden Knights, who
have are.
Speaker 10 (25:46):
Pretty good this year.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Pretty good Kings are about average. They're playing about five hundred.
The Ducks won last night. They were on a nine
game skid, they lost nine games in a row after
a really hot Star. So they beat Saint Louis last night.
And that's your hockey update for all you, for you
(26:09):
three or four hockey fans out there, all right. Also,
robo taxi rollouts. Why companies are preparing for robo taxi
rollouts here in the United States. I think we're gonna
be seeing a lot more of these things, so you
got to be prepared.
Speaker 10 (26:25):
At the biggest tech conference of the year, it was
autonomous vehicles driving the hype.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
Someday a billion cars on a road will all be autonomous.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
That's right.
Speaker 10 (26:35):
You know.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
When Jamie Simonov came into the studio last week, he's
the guy that created Ring Cameron and wrote a book
called Ding Dong Wonder where he got that title. But
when he came in last night or yester last week,
he he lives in Pacific Palisades. He was talking about
(26:56):
that on the air and he got into his Prius
fully to prior. Oh, Tesla, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, you're right, Tesla.
Why did say yeah, Tesla? Fully autonomous Tesla. He got
into his car, put the address in, and he said
he never touched the parking break, the gas, the brake,
or the steering wheel until he got to the office.
(27:18):
Until he got here to the studio, So that must
be a twenty mile ride, maybe twenty three, twenty four miles.
Never once touched anything, and he made it here safely.
This is going to be the answer to expensive insurance
in the future when we when all the kids won't
happen in our generation, but the second, the generation below us,
(27:40):
maybe two generations. Kids won't have to learn how to
drive in thirty years, twenty years. They'll just get in
a car and the car will take them where they
need to go, and so insurance will come down because
there'll be a lot less accidents with these fully autonomous
cars once they get them all all the bugs worked out,
which I think they're pretty close, pretty close.
Speaker 10 (28:00):
As ship maker, Nvidia announced a partnership with Mercedes to
bring self driving technology to your next car. But even
for those not in the market for a new Mercedes,
these companies are on the way this year, racing to
take you from place to place. The biggest player by far, Weaimo,
already operational in five US cities, with plans to expand
to over twenty more here and abroad in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Okay, bell Leo, have you been in a Weaimo yet?
Have you been and had that experience?
Speaker 8 (28:28):
I have not, not yet.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
I haven't either. Have you Stephusche. Have you had a
Waimo ride where there's no driver? No, but I've seen
him all over the place.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
Yeah, MICKI just was in one last week.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Really is she with us?
Speaker 15 (28:42):
I think she's getting set up? Okay, well, she's Janis
is a couple of seconds. She sounds like the driver
that you have the Weimo car.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
There we go, you went, you had Weimo, You had
a car, did drove you somewhere? Never difficulties? Never mind.
We'll have her on tomorrow for an hour. Okay, Okay.
Speaker 10 (29:06):
The new players with big names are revving up.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
Nobody's ever built a vehicle with this kind of experience
from scratch.
Speaker 10 (29:12):
As Uber teams up with car maker Lucid and software
company neuro to debut a brand new robotaxi. They're branding
the first premium option. Tell me about what makes this
vehicle so unique.
Speaker 7 (29:23):
This has actually been designed from the ground up to
be a robotax experience, thinking about the wear and tear
leg room inside the cabins.
Speaker 10 (29:30):
The new vehicle will start roaming the streets of San
Francisco this year. Uber telling us they're not behind in
the game. Where do you.
Speaker 7 (29:36):
See the competitive landscape right now? Whether you want a
human driver or autonomous vehicle. Uber wants to be able to
be the network that makes that happen.
Speaker 10 (29:43):
Amazon backed Zooks, which we checked out last year. It
looks like a carriage. Also planning an expansion from San
Francisco in Vegas to Miami and Austin this year.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
We're really going to be scaling that up and going commercial.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
We're not the first company to bring robotaxis to the
public now.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
It's definitely if you drive or used to drive for
Lyft and Uber, yeah, do you do your fellow drivers?
I don't know if you get to talk to much.
Are they worried that they're going to lose their jobs
eventually to just nobody.
Speaker 15 (30:13):
I mean, yeah, it's kind of like leaning that way.
But for the most part, I mean, I think we're
okay because there's also a lot of people that don't
trust the driverless the driverless cars.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Oh is that right?
Speaker 15 (30:23):
Yeah, so you know, and and and people have told
me like yeah, and it's kind of nice to just,
you know, when they want to chat it up with someone, yeah, yeah,
use a chat it up with yeah, because again, if
they want to be quiet, we'll be quiet. But sometimes
people will talk my ear off and it's fine.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
I wonder if eventually the autonomous cars are going to
have a radio that has AI and they can talk
to you as well. That might be interesting, might I
can see that happening? On Saturday, I will be one
hundred and thirty seven miles from where I am right now.
I will be at the American Vision Windows brand new
showroom in Indio. It's near Palm Springs, near Palm Desert,
(31:00):
near Cabzon, fairly close to the Inland Empire. And if
you want to come down, I'd love to see you there,
would love it. I'll be there from eleven am into
one pm and I'll just be there by myself. I'm
driving myself. It's not a whole crew we're going with.
I'll be there a loan and I'll be at the store.
It's off golf Center Parkway in Indio. So you take
(31:22):
the ten east, get off at golf Center Parkway, go south.
That's turning right, and then turn right almost immediately, and
it's at four four nine oh seven Golf Center Drive.
They'll be giving away a brand new sliding glass door
that's worth up to thirty five hundred bucks. Somebody is
going to win that, it might as well be you,
(31:46):
and you'll enjoy them, all right. Who's coming up by
next year? Ron Or who do you got on? Chris Merril?
Chris Merrill? I love that guy, all right. Chris Merrill
is coming on. Rona will be here as well. A
great program coming up right here on KFI AM six
forty Conway show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Now
you can always hear us live on KFI AM six
(32:09):
forty four to seven pm Monday through Friday, and anytime
on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
