Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Yesterday. We
weren't on yesterday because well it's Sunday, but yesterday would
have been the sixteenth anniversary of the show.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Happy University.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Sixteen years
ago yesterday. Congratulation, Thank you, Buddy. I appreciate that man.
The first day I came in here, Krozer was a
anchor that was on a Saturday. That was in June.
And then the Suits Kennedy in Suits Kennedy went to
(00:41):
Fox News. Suits went up to Seattle and they asked
ifone to do seven to ten pm? And it started
sixteen years ago yesterday, how about that? And I remember
calling my dad and saying, hey, I got a job
on KFI. And he was like, oh, t that's great, fantastic.
I love that station, love everybody on that station. And
(01:02):
he said what's the time slot and I said seven
to ten pm? And he said, oh, isn't that Brian Suits.
I said yeah, yeah, yeah, And he says, where is
Brian going. I said, he's going to Seattle and he's
going to be doing a radio in Seattle. He said, oh,
that's great, that's great. I think mornings or something. He's
ah that, I love that guy. He said what station
(01:23):
is he going to be on? He said, I don't know.
I'll find out. And he said, also, can you find
out if I can listen online? You can show me
how to do that. I said, yeah, yeah. He said
what is it? What are his hours going to be?
I said, Dad, you know I called to tell you
I got a job here. He goes, yeah, yeah, I know,
but we'll get to that. So he's going to be
(01:45):
on mornings in Seattle. He was. My dad was one
of the biggest Brian Suits fans in the world. He
listened to him every single night, loved the show, absolutely
loved the show. And when Brian went to do weekends
or came back and did weekends, he was thrilled. My
dad loved that show, loved Brian Suits, loved Kennedy and Suits,
and wanted to listen to online and he did. He
(02:07):
did over the weekend. I went to Indio, which is
near Palm Springs, which is near Palm Desert, and Indio
is the fastest growing city in California. The mayor came
by or the Mayor's one of the council members came
by and he gave a brief speech there to you know,
(02:30):
it's about fifty or sixty people that showed up for
this thing and said, you know, welcome to American Vision Windows.
They opened up their new showroom in Indio. Yeah, it
was really cool them to come out and say that.
And it's right off Golf Center Drive there, and it
is it is great. Indio's a really cool hang It's
it's a really it's it's a community sort of like
(02:51):
I guess Claremont was probably thirty years ago. Where there,
it's all spread out, nobody's you know, living three feet
from everybody, and it's really a cool deal. I brought
I stayed overnight at a hotel and I looked through
my stuff and I didn't I forgot, uh deodorant, And
I'm like, oh, I got to go to Walmart. So
(03:12):
I went to the Walmart there. The Walmart is the
biggest Walmart I've ever seen in my life, right off
of right in Indio. There, huge just as big ass
Walmart in right off the freeway. And I met a
bunch of people who came by and stopped by to
say hey, and they love everybody. They mentioned Bellio the
most people mentioned Bellio all the time. Yeah. Yeah, there
(03:37):
was a couple of guys there. A guy named Joe
who is an ex police officer. He was there. Uh so, yeah,
Joe is zing zing z I n gg he was there.
I met that dude, a guy named Forrest Meadows who
owns a shooting range in Stanton, California. And I met
(04:02):
this couple there. Her name is Amanda I think it's
Amanda Sears and his name is Christian called her and
this couple. I don't know if they're married or a
girlfriend boyfriend. I don't know what they air. I didn't
have time to dive into them. And she showed me
a piece of She drives a bus for living. She's
a school bus driver, and I thought that's great. I
(04:25):
love the fact that school bus drivers can associate with
this show and listen to it and not get annoyed.
I love that that blue collar people men and women
who drive a school bus probably one of the most
honorable jobs you can have in America, where you know
you are in charge of thirty forty fifty sixty kids
(04:46):
getting to school and getting home safely every day. I
don't know how you beat that. And she showed me
a video that was taken because everything is on video
with these buses now where she's driving. These kids think
she's driving him to the school or your home, but
she was only about a mile and a half away
from the school. And one of the girls on the bus,
(05:08):
who's in kindergarten, said, miss bus driver, my friend's choking.
And she stops the bus, takes the kid. Kid's only
you know, five or six years old, and it's clearly
on video, grabs her out of her seat, gives to
the Heimlich maneuver, and a big ass grape comes out
of her mouth and out of her throat, and she
(05:30):
saved that kid's life.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
That's amazing.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Save that kid's life. So I said to her, I said,
have you shown this to the fire department in your area?
And she's like, oh, I don't know. I don't even
know who the fire department is. I'm like, okay, well
that's sort of an issue too, but I would show
this to the fire department in Indio because you need
to be recognized for this. You saved a child's life.
(05:53):
They should have a proclamation for you. They should name
a day after you. They should give you the key
to the city on they should really celebrate that act
of bravery. You saved a child's life. How many people
can say that, And so Amanda sears, if the fire
department is listening in Indio, you somehow got to get
(06:14):
a hold of her. Oh, I have her number, so
call us here. And you got to give this young
lady an award for saving that child's life. That should
be recognized. I'll have and if you don't do it, Indio,
I'm going to come down and do it. I'll come
down and straighten it out. I'll take the video to
the fire department. I'll take it to city council. And
(06:36):
you should absolutely give her a key to the city
or at least her name in the newspaper or show
that video on the news, you know, if you get
permission from the parents and all that stuff. And this
is a hero. This is a woman who works driving
a bus in Indio who is an absolute hero. How
many times do you get to meet true heroes? Not
(06:58):
a guy who caught a ball in a touchdown and
gets paid millions of dollars, but a woman who drives
a bus every day and saved a child's life. And
it's on video. Everyone can clearly see it. So if
Amanda and Christian, if you guys are listening, I'm going
to help you out and we're gonna get that key
to the city from Indio. It's the fastest growing city
(07:19):
in California, and they need to recognize true heroes in
this world. She's one of them. She's definitely one of them.
But anyway, I'm going to pursue that. Bellio, bellio. Can
you work on that. You've got nothing going on once you.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Take Yeah, it's just getting that money that I have
to pay you for. Yeah, yes, So then I'll get
on that. So yeah, yeah, yeah. I love that you're
taking charge of this situation though. That's right recognizing Amanda,
that's yes.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
She should be recognized, you know. I mean, if it
was my child, I would I would thank her every
day on the air for the rest of my life.
I don't know what the parents do of the child
who is say, but I think that an appropriate gift
is called for. I don't know what the gift was.
I don't know if anybody's even acknowledged it, but I
(08:09):
saw it, and I recognize the hero when I see it,
she is a living hero.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am six forty.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
If you haven't heard, The Rams are moving on. They're
going to play Seattle this weekend for the NFC and
if they win, they go to the Super Bowl in
San Francisco. So a lot to look forward to. It's
been quite a year with the Dodgers and the Rams.
An excellent, excellent year for me to my favorite teams.
(08:43):
Kings not so great this year. All right, there's been
some reports of an assault on an officer in the
Lamart Park area. Let's find out what's going on after
I think this all started with a stabbing after the parade,
the Martin Luther King Junior Parade.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
All right, breaking news out of Lamart Park reports of
an assault on a police officer. And this is at
forty third and Crenshaw, Theah.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Forty third Crenshaws, not where that parade was, that's considerably
south of there.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Then the lapd asking for a scrimmage line at this
location for a large crowd. That is part of the
crowd gathered around a white vehicle. And as we pull
out from Air seven, you could see the bigger picture.
There are people spread out all over this intersection with
that line of police. There's the police cars on the
right hand side parked in the middle, and you see
the skirmish line the officers standing on that street prepared
(09:40):
to handle the situation. Now, this was called as an
assault with a police officer, but also they're calling this
a crowd disturbance. And this is video that we shot
just a few moments ago where you see two girls
women in some sort of a fight with a massive
amount of people gathered around them. We will tell you
eventually they were pulled out from each other. But this
(10:01):
is the kind of scene that's been happening at this
intersection in Lahmert Park. This is again forty third in Crenshaw.
There was a disturbance earlier today at MLKA in Crenshaw.
We don't know if this large crowd gathering and the
anger associated with it has anything to do with that
first gathering at MLKA and Crenshaw that happened soon after
(10:22):
the parade took place and broke up. But this is
what's going on live right now. The left hand side
is the live picture on your screen. The right hand
side was video taken just a few minutes ago of
a fight that was eventually broken up. This is breaking
right now. It continues to happen as We will monitor
the situation and we'll bring you the very latest as
we get it.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Okay, we will keep you updated on that. But Lamur
Park is I don't know if I don't think, I
don't think forty I thought forty third Street was considerably
south of where they were, where Lahmer Park is. But
maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Lahmber Park is there. Let me
look it up here. Lamur Park is, Yeah, it is
(11:06):
it forty first, forty first and forty Yeah, forty first street,
So maybe that is not the same. Mary.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
All right.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
If there's any more information on that, we will bring
it to you.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
But this specifically said the post parade celebrations were all
taking place at Lahmer Park.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Oh it is okay, all right. Well, the parade was
earlier at the MLK Parade, and it compared last year
to this year. Let's find out what's going on here.
Speaker 6 (11:35):
It was a picture perfect day for the Los Angeles
Official Martin Luther King Day Parade. Thousands lined MLK Boulevard
to enjoy them. Any floats marching bands and community groups
marching along the route. Since nineteen eighty five, the parade
has celebrated the legacy of doctor Martin Luther King. Parade
(11:56):
organizers telling us this is more than just a parade.
It's a reflection of doctor King's dream that all people,
regardless of race, faith, gender, or background come together to
work hand in hand toward a better tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (12:11):
Today means a lot of together togetherness, people coming together
in love versus judgment, people sharing his legacy and passing
it on.
Speaker 8 (12:23):
It just means so much to me and my family.
Speaker 7 (12:26):
We need to all come together as one community and
stand together with each other and to fight for what's
going on right now.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
What a difference this year from last year. The parade
was delayed a month because of the palisades and eaton
fires and then the immigration raids, but he enjoyed the parade.
Today we're sharing with us that now is the time
for the city and southern California to start healing and
strengthen community ties with our neighbors.
Speaker 9 (12:54):
This is the best city and not only the world,
but the history of the world.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
We can all stand up very proud that Los Angeles
to take advantage of opportunities that.
Speaker 8 (13:04):
We have here.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
That was the chief of police. I think at the
end there, let me see, we.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Should take advantage of opportunities that we have here.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Chief McDonald. He was supposed to come on tomorrow. Is
he still coming in tomorrow or is he They've had
a postpone.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
But we'll have him on probably in the next week
or so.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Okay, so Mark will be on time tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Though no Mark has to postpone just an hour.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
He has an appointment, really, but every Tuesday he's got
a doctor's appointment. What's going on with that guy?
Speaker 2 (13:35):
That's a good day for appointments. But Petros will be
on with us.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Oh, I love Petros, Petros Papadakis. Yeah, from Petro some money. Yeah,
I always enjoy having that guy on. That's great. Hey
did you see that the toyota or wait, how do
you pronounce it? Step It's not toyota. How do you
say it? Toyota? Toyote? What toyota? Do you call it? Toyote? Toyota?
(14:04):
All right? Anyway, they they're they're spending ten billion dollars
and starting to make toyotas in America. They've committed ten
billion dollars. So in the future, when you buy a Toyota,
it might be fully assembled and fully manufactured right here
(14:24):
in America. That's kind of a cool deal. So got
that to look forward to. That'll be great. Yeah, it
ten billion dollars is a lot. I saw this over
the weekend. I want to get it because I don't
believe it. I saw it on I think on YouTube
or I don't know, some social media. There's a there's
(14:45):
an app out there called dog Talk DG t o
K and another one is dog a Fi d og
I f Y and their apps where they record what
you say to them and then they repeat it back
in dog talk. So if you say give me a kiss,
(15:06):
and then you press record, you say, you know, hey,
fid oh that's the dog's name, give me a kiss,
and then you play it back for the dog. The
dog will understand what that is. It'll make some barking
noises and then give you a kiss, or get you
a beer or lay down or you know, go to sleep,
or you know whatever it is. But belly O, that
(15:27):
would be great if we could get that. And you
seemed very interested in that.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
I'm looking into it as we speak.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Okay, dog if I is one, and dog Talk dog
t Ok is another one. I don't believe we are
there yet where we have an app that we can
communicate with dogs and it is one hundred percent correct.
I think that they're I don't know. I'm staying on
(15:54):
high alert.
Speaker 8 (15:55):
You know.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
They came out saying that dogs are way smarter than
we thought they were.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Is that right?
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yeah? Moose yelled at me last.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Night, Really, what did you do?
Speaker 10 (16:05):
He?
Speaker 2 (16:06):
As John likes to say, they've they've trained me very well.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
He usually gets a snack after dinner and then before bed,
and I had not given them their snack.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
And he came in and he was like, oh that's classic.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Like he was like, get it done now.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Ye know, dogs I think are smarter. We have our
dog Abby, when she wants to go for a walk,
she'll stand between my wife and the door and not
let my wife go back. If my wife walks towards
the door, she'll walk with her, but she won't. She'll
stand between my wife and the door like she's pushing
her outside.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
No, they absolutely, like are trying to communicate with us.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I think they are. I think they are much smarter.
I don't think they're you know, at a point where
they were they can have credit cards or you know, drink.
But I think they are smart. I think the dogs
are really very bright. And I and by the way,
I and this is a conspiracy theory so far, but
(17:10):
I think it's good and I believe in it. I
think dogs can talk, and I think they've all have
the secret high sign to not talk in front of us.
But I think they can talk because occasionally I heard Ernie,
our dog, talk, and because we said to him. One
day it was my wife, my daughter, and my wife,
(17:31):
my daughter and myself. We were sitting in bed watching
TV on a Sunday, was raining outside, and Ernie did
something stupid and I said, you know, I something like, Ernie,
are you the dumbest dog in the world? And he
clearly said in front of me, my wife and my daughter,
and we all remember it and we can all tell
(17:51):
you the exact same story. I said, Ernie, are you
the dumbest dog in the world? And he said, I
don't know. He clearly asked my wife or my daughter.
They were both sitting there, and we all looked at
it. You're like, did you just hear that? Are you the
(18:12):
dumbest dog in the world.
Speaker 9 (18:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Clearly said it. I think they can talk, and they are.
They don't want to do it in front of us
because it would freak us out. I think they can
and I'm working on that. And if that's and if
that's true, then come on, dogs, get in with us.
You know, we're tired of guessing what you want. Yeah,
(18:37):
be with us and talk with us. And I think
in fifty years, maybe one hundred years, that you'll have
a full blown conversation with your dog, full blown like, Hey,
how's it going. Oh, it's not bad.
Speaker 7 (18:51):
You know.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Food sucks. You know, I feel bad for dogs. BELLI
would you give your dog the same dog food every night?
I feel horrible. I do the same thing, the same thing.
You know, they eat the same crap every night.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Well that's why we try to put different toppers on them.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, but still, like if you had hamburgers every day
for dinner, you'd eventually go crazy.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
I have the same exact thoughts. Yeah, but I guess
it's okay.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
But if you but if you change up their meal,
they get all diarrhea up and they're all crazy. Yeah,
they got to They gotta work on that.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I am sixty.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
I want to give a shout out to a family
that I met at the American Vision Windows brand new
showroom in Indio. His name is Aldo, his wife's name
is Adriana. Their son's name is Adrian and Aldo Junior.
And they were the nicest, sweetest couple in the world
the world. There is no better couple than these two.
(19:56):
They have one they had belly or they had a
baby there, but there was two months old. Two months.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
You sent a photo, I posted it.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Okay, all right. Just a very very nice guy, great
father to those two kids. She's a terrific mom. And
I'm sort of jealous when I see people with new
babies because I miss that. I miss those days, and
now Krozer's with me as well. But to have a
brand new baby in the house, that energy, and the
(20:27):
baby experiencing things for the first time, it's great. It's great.
Oh man. I the best thing I've ever done in
my life is have a child. And I understand if
you don't, that's your choice, or you know, if you
can't or something happen. I get that. I get that. Yeah,
but what's a cool deal? Cool cool deal. We're waiting
for John Bellio to phone us up. He's a coach,
(20:51):
football coach, and I have a play for the La
Rams that I want to run by coach John first
like a flea No it's not, and you'll you'll eat
those words when you see how great the play is.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
It's way more advanced.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
It's a it's a lot better than a flea flicker
or no. Yeah, it's a sneak. It's a toush push.
That's what I came up with. It's a great idea.
It's not a jet sweep, it's none of that. You know,
new fan, this is a great play that could win
them the super Bowl. And I'm gonna ask John what
he thinks about it because he's he's an official real coach.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Yeah he is.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Yeah, that's really cool. Also another shout out, I was
at the track yesterday. I went to the track with
my buddy Jason Jacobson, and he brought his his daughter,
who is I think she was eighteen. I think, uh,
And it's great when and she has a great sense
of humor and that's I think the biggest compliment you
(21:51):
can pay somebody is they have a great sense of humor.
You know, you can fix everything else in your life.
You know, if if you're a guy and you're too fat,
you can take a shot, you know, the the what
kobe or what those shots are called. If you're you know,
losing your hair, you can take care of that. If
you don't have any money, you can, you know, get
another job or bear down and look, you know, to
(22:12):
try to improve yourself financially. But to have a sense
of humor at eighteen, you need to have gotten that
from your mom or dad. I think I think she
got it from her dad. Well I don't know her mom.
Maybe her mom as well. But for kids to be,
you know, eighteen years old, nineteen and have a great
sense of humor, that is all great parenting from mom
(22:33):
and dad. So hats off to Jason Jacobson. He's a
LAPD officer and teaches cops how to shoot straight. And
that was a cool day. Track didn't win, but drove
home listening to the God of the Rams game and
then finally got home and watched the last of the
third quarter and the whole fourth quarter. And I was
(22:56):
a nervous wreck watching that game. I couldn't believe it.
I thought they were going to lose and I needed
them to win. I just needed to win. I needed
the victory, all right, lamer Park. When we come back,
we have an update of what's going on at Lahmert Park.
There was some mischief there and we will come back
and give you the latest update.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Some people gathering at Lamur Park after the Martin Luther
King Junior Parade. Somebody was stabbed and an officer was
I don't know, attacked or something. But let's find out
if there's the latest what's going on at Lahmert Park.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Here we go, greaty news at Lamert Park reports they
have an assault on a police officer on David Ono.
Speaker 9 (23:46):
I'm lizten Aggy, Mark Brown and Michelle Fisher are both
off tonight. You are looking live at video of Vernon
and Crenshaw right now. LAPD have a very large presence
at the intersection after officers were called out there about
an hour ago to form a scrimmage line to help
control a large unruly crowd. Now we have been watching
for this for the past thirty minutes or so, the
number of police officers has increased. That crowd appears to
(24:09):
be dispersing.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Dispersing right now, we think, but we're going to continue
to watch the situation. We have some videos for you
to see. First, this fight broke out while we were
over it about a half an hour ago. You see
two women really at each other at fisticuffs, and then
the crowd tightly around them, but most of them just
shooting video of this incident. And this is one of
(24:32):
many uprisings, miniature uprisings within this crowd that's been happening
there in Lamert Park.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
Now, these women were eventually pulled apart. We've not been
able to get any answers about any injuries that may
have been caused in this unruly crowd. All of this
is happening around the Mirt Park area, and you're Vernon.
There was a festival that was supposed to be going
on until six o'clock this evening, at the conclusion of
the MLK parade. So this was supposed to be a
celebration going.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
On and that's what funneled a lot of people in
to this area. However, it's been basically fraught with some
problems starting at immediately after the parade, there was an incident,
a reported stabbing. Police responded, and then they.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Had and then two women started fighting. Girls, what's going
on with you? Not too feminine? When I was growing up,
very rarely saw women fight. Usually guys, you know, dopey
guys punching each other in the face. But now you
see it all the time, women fighting.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
Yeah, a crowd situation happened to them about two o'clock
this afternoon. In the meantime, Laura, what we're seeing on
the right hand side, that's the crowd a few minutes ago,
right when they moved from the first location when we
first joined him a few minutes ago at forty third
in Crenshaw. Now they're moved over to the Poyo Loco
(25:54):
and this is where the latest skirmish line is, And
as Liz reported, people are starting to separate to spread
out as more and more police are there. Nevertheless, it
continues to evolve, and by the way, that festival that
Liz was talking about, it was supposed to be a
family affair with food and life music, but it's turning
(26:15):
into more and more a violent encounter with a number
of people hundreds of people showing up to Lamart Park
for other reasons.
Speaker 9 (26:24):
You can see LAPD officers moving across the street there.
That video outside the El Polio Loco was just a few.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Oh, El Poyo Loco. The second mention of L Poyo Loco,
man makes you want to go there, get some of
that great chicken. They got those burritos there. Oh Man,
Stephan's you're you're my go to guy when it comes
to the quality of fast food. Are you an L
Poyo Loco guy? Absolutely? Yeah, me too. Yeah, they got
(26:50):
some solid tacos. I like, honestly, I really like their salads.
I mean, I know it's salad's good, yeah, with that
avocado green dressing that's right out there. That that's it off.
They got good rice yep. And then they're rice cheese burritos.
What they call it our rc R CL or RCM. Yeah,
that too, I don't know much about it. And they
(27:12):
got good avocados. They got fresh avocados there. I might go. Now,
you know it's but over the top. You go to
guyos really good too. Oh yeah, and the green the
salsa verde there is good too. So I'm going I'm going,
I'm going, hey, look, the side effect of these two
women fighting is Helo is going to make a little
more money around seven fifteen, because I'm going, I'm going
(27:32):
one on Alameda and near Main Street.
Speaker 9 (27:35):
Say, the El Polio Loco was just a few minutes ago,
that scrimmage line that they were attempting to form. You
could see LAPD officers in their riot gear.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
If we were to assess the situation from overhead, it
looks like things are quieting down, at least from a
few minutes ago. And as more police respond, they're dispersing
the crowd and as you can see that police presence
is getting bigger and bigger. They have their gear on.
They have a number of different weapons with them as
a monitor what the crowd is going to do next.
(28:05):
But as of now, it looks like it's calmer at
this moment than it was just a few minutes ago.
Speaker 9 (28:10):
We're going to keep an eye on this and we'll
bring you the latest. If anything is to change from
these images.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
All right, we'll keep an eye on that as well.
But that's a sweet meal there al Poyo Loco awesome place,
and in Burbank, it's it's odd you know, there's some
places in the valley where you know, you have to
drive ten miles to get to an Elpoyo Loco. But
Bourbank has two El poy locos two one near the
in and out and the other one near pavilions. The
(28:36):
one near the in and out is better than the
one near the pavilion. Sorry, just the truth, but that's
a great place for chicken. Man. Remember when that first started,
the very first one opened the valley on Sepulvida and Ventura,
and I lived three buildings away from that l poy Loco,
and when that started, that was like a new that
(28:59):
was like a life changer for people have never had
that kind of chicken before. I could smell it from
my apartment and I could and I and I went
there probably five times a week to eat that chicken.
Oh with the citrus on it. Oh, they do it right,
They do it right there at El Poyo Loco. Ding
(29:20):
dong with these guys. All right, let's talk about film
in La La report found that Hollywood, you know, big
big driver, the Hollywood movie and TV industry is down,
was down in twenty twenty five. That this is not good.
This is a horrible sign for Los Angeles when we
(29:41):
lose production.
Speaker 8 (29:42):
YEA, Bob's Big Boy in burd Bank is known as
a restaurant staple for LA's film industry.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Oh, I didn't know that. I didn't know that Bob's
Big Boy was a staple for the film crew.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
This picture right here was during the strike.
Speaker 8 (29:55):
Rebudding actors who have side jobs like Destiny Mounts working
here gives her a unique chance to get Budding actors
who have side jobs like Destiny Mounts.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Working is what she does. I've never seen a movie
with Destiny Mounts.
Speaker 8 (30:09):
And then Destiny Mounts working.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Is she a comedian? Is she is she doing I
don't know, romantic movies.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
Is she an eight one to eight actress?
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Maybe that's possible. It's a valley. She's a Bob's Big Boy,
so she might know some eight one as you know,
say it backwards.
Speaker 8 (30:28):
Destiny Mounts working here gives her a unique chance to
get in front of someone who could help her land
a role.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
It's really nice.
Speaker 11 (30:35):
I've met some really incredible people. I haven't necessarily had
opportunities say come from it, but it's an opportunity for
me to talk to anyone who has any stake in
the industry.
Speaker 8 (30:46):
Mount says, lately, she's seen an increase in film industry
workers stopping by.
Speaker 11 (30:50):
I've seen a lot more people from the like, from
the production side of it, coming in on their lunch
breaks and stuff. So it seems like there are more
people getting back on set.
Speaker 8 (31:00):
It's a microcosm of what many people in the industry
and across LA have started to take notice of production
starting to ramp up again, even if it's at a
small rate.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Well, I don't know if it's ramping up again, because
I know that the back lot that's in Studio City
that has Channel nine and Channel two, what do they
call that lot there? Radford, Yes, Radford. I can't pay
their bills anymore. And now the property is going back
to the bank, and so I don't know what they're
(31:32):
going to turn that into. But there's I think there's
sixty five acres there right in the middle of Studio City.
Has got to be worth a lot of money for
condos and hopefully a new Starbucks or a seven to eleven,
you know, that's what I like. I hope they put
more Starbucks and more seven elevens there. I like both
those places. I like both of them, both of.
Speaker 8 (31:51):
Them a lot, even if it's at a small rate.
Speaker 5 (31:54):
So you have COVID, you have the shrikes right, and
you have the bubble that kind of pop bubble. Now
it's kind of reforming and trying to re identify itself
and that takes time.
Speaker 8 (32:06):
According to data from philm LA, production activity in twenty
twenty five finished sixteen percent below twenty twenty four, but
at the end of the year in quarter four a bump,
production was up over five percent.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
All right, I found Destiny Mount. Destiny is a Destiny Mount. Yeah,
Destiny Mount mlunt Okay. She's from Arizona. Her credits are
Cameron Hall Production. She was in a commercial. She was
woman at the bar in a commercial and in oh,
I remember that in twenty twenty one and then twenty
(32:42):
twenty one, same year it was a hot year for her.
She was a basketball player an inner instructional video for
a new Google product. So she was a basketball player
in October of twenty twenty one, and before that, in
April twenty twenty one, she was a woman at the
(33:03):
bar in a commercial.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
So as the basketball player was she the one that
took the free shot, the free throw shot.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Let's see here, let's see. Let's see it doesn't say
it doesn't say I could play the audio? Oh there
is audio. Oh yeah, I don't know if I bello?
Can I play? It's on the internet. No nice, I'd
rather not, okay, r Safety Queen.
Speaker 8 (33:31):
From the third quarter, and with the state's Film Incentive
Program approving project funding, it's expected to get busier.
Speaker 10 (33:38):
We are starting to see that yet. So the very
earliest projects that were approved under the program, projects approved
last August, are now eligible to begin production and we
should be seeing them on the streets here very soon.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
That's great. We need more production Hollywood. You know, Mayor
Bass has got to do everything she can to keep
as many movies and TV shows and commercials and video.
Everything needs to be shot in LA. And they should
have a you know, either an INSIGNI on on the
film or the TV show shot in La Si La,
(34:13):
so it would be a Sila it's a Sila movie
or a Sila TV show shot in LA, and people
support that, and people go out and support that if
it's shot in La. We need more production, more video,
more TV shows and more films to be shot in La. Yes,
and we need it soon because a lot of these
(34:34):
