Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's camp.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
I am six forty and you're listening to the Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Timmy.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Yeah, he's a lot to.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
It, such a lot of fun on.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
With a lot too, said.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Doll.

Speaker 5 (00:34):
But I'm not gonna do it another earthquake story on you.
You've had it. You know I can sense it.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
You've had it.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
But you know, the reason why we have skiing in
California is because of earthquakes. That's how those mountains are created.
And so if you love the mountains, the prices earthquakes
and Mount Whitney is the tallest mountain in the United
States with exception you know, Alaska, Hawaii, and it's I

(01:02):
think it's fourteen thousand, five hundred feet.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
I have to look that up.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
Hold on, let's see you here, Mount Whitney fourteen thousand
and five oh five. I was off by five feet
and it's a beautiful mountain. But here's what a lot
of people don't know, including myself, how far Stephus. You're
a you're an Uber guy?

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yes? Are you still driving Uber and Lyft?

Speaker 6 (01:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I just started back up.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
Oh that's cool. Yeah, which you prefer? I do Uber
for the most part right, were the nicer, more well
behaved clients.

Speaker 7 (01:37):
Where you would expect Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills.
But you know when it comes to two in the morning, right,
But uber Lyft where you get most your clients, the
cool one Uber Yeah, okay, lift or a holes. No,
Lyft just seemed to be a lot more stoners. Oh
is that right?

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:54):
I didn't know that. Oh that's crazy. So they're kind
of funny, I'll admit that. Okay, all right, it is
a younger crowd with Lyft. No, it's pretty much the
same on both ends. Okay, all right, So how far
I don't want to embarrass you here. How far do
you think it is from Burbank to the Mexican border
Tijuana area?

Speaker 1 (02:13):
How many miles? Would you say?

Speaker 7 (02:15):
How many?

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Like one hundred and fifty? Yeah, all right, you're off
by four miles. Okay, okay, very good. Okay. Now, Mount
Whitney is only one hundred or two hundred and six
miles from Burbank. So the tallest mountain in the United States,

(02:37):
in the contiguous United States, not you know, Alaska, Hawaiian
is right here in our backyard, and it's only two
hundred miles away.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
What I didn't know that. I didn't know that.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
I thought it was like three four five hundred miles away.
But it's it's right near a death Valley and you
can get there very easily in a quick three hour drive.
And so it is beautiful there. I've only seen pictures.
I've num been there, but it looks spectacular. But it
is literally in our backyard two hundred miles away. Fourteen thousand,

(03:13):
five hundred and five feet. That is incredible if you
think about it. I think Big Bear is seven thousand feet. Yeah,
let me look that up so you don't have to
hold on. Wait a minute, let me put some boom
in it. Big Bear altitude, Okay, Big Bear is Okay,

(03:34):
I was almost right. Sixty seven hundred feet. That's how tall.
That's the elevation of Big Bear. Six thousand, seven hundred
and fifty two feet. I don't know if that's the
base of the mountain. I don't know, Okay, So let's
just say sixty eight hundred feet, all right, sixty eight

(03:55):
hundred feet is Big Bear. And when you're up on
Big Bear and you you're driving on rim of the world,
which is that big you know street that runs on
the top of the mountain. There it looks like you're way, way,
way up in the sky and you are, okay, Well,
Mount Whitney is double that, double that, more than double that,

(04:16):
and so it is really really up there. You know,
if you've been lucky enough to go see it, or
maybe you're a mountain climber and you climb it, that's
got to be spectacular to be that high up in
the air. Fourteen thousand, five hundred and five feet is incredible.
But again, those come at a cost. And the cost earthquakes,

(04:40):
I do sound like a one note show here, don't I. Okay,
let's bail off the earthquakes. Let's talk about something that's that.
Steph Oush and I are very excited about the new
Costco chicken figures. Yes, yes, the Chicken Tenders. And I've
got to I've got to say, Steph, you know you
and are big fans of Chicken Tenders. Costco's coming to

(05:03):
the game awfully late, just a little bit.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
I mean, there's Canes, there's Chick fil A, every fast
food places, every everyone does. There's Gusses, which has been known,
I think as the best chicken in the valley.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yeah, a long time, that's what they say.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Yeah, and by the way, the most expensive chicken in
the valley. I went and got a meal the every
other day. Yeah, three four strips uh Coast Law and
Fries was like twenty five dollars and I'm like, what, wait,
twenty five it was. I have to say it's worth it.
But occasionally, you know, it's not like it's not a
regular No, No, it must spend twenty.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Furs for lunch here. You're living on the streets.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
But Costco chicken tenders are here, so let's find out
more about these suckers. Everybody loves chicken.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Tenders about Costco. Costcos in California have added a new
idem important menu.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yes, chicken tenders.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Are now selling a five piece order of bread and
chicken tenders.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
I Elco just came out with theirs too. Yeah, and
I tried to I don't know, five, maybe really at
a ten? Yeah, I gave him a seven.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Oh is that right? I give them seven?

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Okay, I give guses a ten. I give Chick fil A,
which I had today. I give them an eight and
a half canes about an eight and a half, but
I don't know. I'm with those course, yeah, they let me.
They left me a little flat with the Eloi Loco.
I hope they improvement. It just seems like they sort

(06:37):
of walked into it. You know, they're just sleepwalking into
this thing. But you know when Carls came out with Theirs,
like fifteen or twenty years ago, they were, Oh they're awesome,
they planned it real good. Yeah, I still get them
their hand battered too. Yep, they're great and they're hot
as hell. When you get them, you gotta be careful,
you got to be very careful. But let's find out

(06:58):
what's going on with Costco and what these chicken tenders
are going to be like. Are they gonna be the
typical ones that come frozen in a bag and they
just eat them up, or are they going Gus slash
Caral style where they're individually made.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
Let's find out the tenders are baked. Oh okay, all right,
the tenders are baked, not fried, and they come with
a sweet honey mustard dipping sauce.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Who has ever said, man, I love the baked chicken
over there? Oh they got the best baked chicken nobody
ever says that it's fried chicken, Kentucky fried chicken. We
gotta fry this stuff. I know, maybe they don't have
the equipment there to fried.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
I get it. But baked.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
The tenders are baked, not fried.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
And you can even hear in her voice she's like shocked.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
The tenders are baked. It's baked, not fried. And they
come with a sweet honey mustard dipping sauce.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
That's original. Who thought of that? And what are the
fries them with? Ketchup? Yeah? Yeah they do, so they do, yeah,
with some ranch.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
That's sweet honey mustard dipping sauce. They cost seven bucks expensive.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
You know, you can get a whole chicken for five
you get an entire baked chicken for four ninety nine.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
They cost seven bucks. And they are replacing Calzonies.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
Okay, I think it's Calzones.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I don't know if it's Calzonis. I've never heard that.
Sounded like something else.

Speaker 9 (08:36):
Underwear' that's what I was thinking too.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Oh that's correct.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
So wait a minute, So Costco's selling underwear at the
food court, They're gonna have a problem with that.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
As Taco bell. How that's going.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
And they are replacing Calzonis.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Sick.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
I hope we're right, because we're laughing too hard if
we're wrong, is it?

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Are we right?

Speaker 7 (09:09):
That's why I did it before.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Okay, you know what's going on there? I bet you anything.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
There's a guy driving around with his grandmother grandfather and
they don't speak English, and he's listening to kf I
because you know that's what he wants to listen to.
All of a sudden, you know, like no, no, no underwear, no,
no underwear, Like, why, what the hell's going on here?
Going on with this show?

Speaker 4 (09:32):
And they are replacing Calzoni's.

Speaker 8 (09:37):
It's funnier every time It's classics have been cal Zones.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
Okay, that's great. This is the downside of having me
back on at night. I have too much time to
go through this crap with a fine tooth comb. And look,
I screw up every night, every single night. I screwed
up last night. I can remember what hell I said. Oh,
I said billions instead of millions. I said there's eighteen

(10:04):
billion gallons of water on sunset instead of millions.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
So I know what it's like. I screw up every night.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
And they are replacing Calzonis. The tenders have bent calzones.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Oh you can hear them laughing in the background.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
The tenders have bent colzones. Yeah, I mean yeah, both
inside out pizza.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Thing right, Yeah, yeah, both work.

Speaker 9 (10:26):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
They have been rolling out in other Costco locations across
the country since the spring, but here in California we
weren't able to get our hands on them until this
past weekend.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Wow, calzones horrible. I don't know anyone that bought those.
Everyone just gets a dog, an ice cream, a piece
of pizza, or a coke or PEPSI I think back
to coke. But nobody ever gets the you know, the
the salad. I've never seen anybody get the caesar salad
or the calzonis, the klzonis.

Speaker 10 (10:57):
The salads are so good.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Really still trust those salads?

Speaker 6 (11:01):
Ton?

Speaker 10 (11:01):
Yeah, well they upped it from the caesar salad. It's
a chop salad now, it's really could. Yes, they've got
like the hard boiled eggs, They've got all kinds of
things to mix into it.

Speaker 11 (11:14):
It's delicious.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
I do like the chop salad.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
I do enjoy that. I also like the family guy.
And we got to take a break where they had
they were faking, faking a or one of the scenes.
They had an Italian chop salad and he just throws
in the whole tomato, the hole on the whole cupe,
on the whole pepper. That's the best, one of the
most accurate segments ever. Yeah, that is great, buddy. We

(11:38):
got to post that clip that you sent me. You'll
come back and talk about it from the office. I've
never seen that before in my life.

Speaker 12 (11:45):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I am six forty.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
I got a Dodger Yankees score for you. So if
you don't want to hear it, maybe you recorded the
game five seconds, four three two one. The Dodgers were
losing that game all night. I was watching before I
went to work, and I finally had to go to work.
I'm like, okay, it's one nothing, they'll probably lose, you know,

(12:14):
two nothing. Monsey hits a home run I think in
the seventh inning and Dodgers win two to one. Garrett Cole,
pitching for the Yankees, Snake bit Rearber last time he
or in the World Series when the Dodgers scored five runs,
five unearned runs to beat the Yankees and win the

(12:36):
World Series. He lost tonight, and he was great. But
Dodgers win, Dodgers win, ding Dong with these Dodgers, all right,
we got some other stuff to get into here. There
was a sword, or some people say sword. I don't
know who those people are. A sword that was discovered.
It's three thousand years old, three one thousand years old.

(13:01):
Discovered by a man with one of these metal detectors.
You know, these lunatics you see at the beach, put
the headphones on, the black socks with sandals, shorts, I
have completely anti social, odd looking, odd gait. You know,
they walk with the strange gate and constantly looking for

(13:22):
coins and rings, never really find anything.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
This guy hit the motherlack.

Speaker 13 (13:28):
A man with a metal detector made a remarkable find
in a forest in Poland, the sword standing upright in
the sand. And not just any sword. It was bronze
and it looked pretty old. So he notified the local
heritage center. They sent archaeologists to remove it, and turns
out that sword dates between nine hundred and seven hundred BC,
making it close to three thousand years old.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Okay, three thousand years old. Why would he tell anybody?
Why not just you know, dig it up and keep it.
Now I think he's lost the rights to it.

Speaker 13 (13:58):
They will study it to learn more and then put
it on display in a museum.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah, it's over now. He could have taken it home.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
He nobody would have known, and then somehow you know,
sold it, or you know, some give it to some
you know lunatic who's worth a billion dollars and wants
that thing in his house. It could have been worth
four or five million dollars. But now the county owns it,
or the country owns it, and people are gonna come
by and take a look at it. And every time
he looks at it like.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Oh, that could have been mine. That could have been mine.
But I don't know.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
I don't know if those metal detectors are getting much
better than the ones that we bought from radio shack. Yes, yes,
I had one. I had one. I had a Cbe
radio as well, fairly goofy kid. When when I was ten,
what I wanted for my birthday was a Cbee radio.
My dad got me one, put it on ten on

(14:56):
top of the house, and I would talk to truck
drivers until three in the morning. I could pick him
up on the valley from thousand Oaks to Glendale, and
I just talked to truck drivers all night, and you know,
as a ten year old kid in his underwear, and
my dad never thought that was odd and up until
about about four or five years before my dad passed away.

(15:18):
I said, Dad, remember when I was ten years old?
He said, not really. I said, well, I remember. I
had to see me. He goes, yeah, I remember that.
I said, do you think it was odd that your
ten year old son in his underwear was talking to
truck drivers all night?

Speaker 1 (15:31):
And he said two things.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
It was a different time, and the second thing I
never thought. He said to me, I never thought about
it until you just mentioned it. Never thought about it
twice about you know, nine year old, ten year old
kid talking to truck drivers till three in the morning.
Never thought about it twice. It was a different time, though,
it was a radically different time.

Speaker 12 (15:57):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on de Mayo from
KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
Can't Buy Am sixty Conway show selupa.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Uh, what's up that chick's name? She got married recently?
She sure did.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Oh that's depressing. I didn't think I had a shot,
but you don't want to see them. I don't want
to see him. I mean, I'll say to you, guys,
I didn't have a shot, right, But as I'm driving
home and I hear her songs, I think, you know,
there's a two percent shot, maybe one, but still there's
a shot. Now there's not because she's married. It's zero percent, zero, Yeah,

(16:38):
I swear to guy Angel.

Speaker 10 (16:41):
I hear she digs guys that read newspapers on the
beach and.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
We and we spent most of the retirement at the track.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
But she's got She's got a ton of money, so
she wouldn't care what I did with mine. She's probably yeah,
she's probably got. What do you think she's worth? Let's
do a whip around. What do you think do Aleipa
is worth?

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Let me see net worth? All right, let's hit the
whip around here.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
All right, I got it. Let's go at the high end.
There's two numbers here, but the high end.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
What do you think Dua Lipa is worth? All right?
Steperoni tony ninety million? Okay, Elen Gonzalez, I'm.

Speaker 11 (17:25):
Gonna go with twenty five.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Million, twenty five all right? How about Angel one hundred
and ten million, one ten and Richie.

Speaker 9 (17:38):
I was gonna say, like seventy five. Her last album
was pretty magical, so seventy five mili.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
She is worth one point eight billion dollars.

Speaker 11 (17:48):
That's lost your shot with her?

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Yeah, no, one hundred and twenty million, So who got
it right? Angel Martinez is a winner and one hundred
and twenty million. I think that's low. I think she's
worth a lot more than that, which is also a
bummer that she got married because I had a shot,
you know, I almost bought a ticket to go see
your concert And sounds like what by yourself? But I

(18:12):
love that information hate the attitude that was.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Delivered with.

Speaker 9 (18:17):
That was like Steph Gordon to the Sabrina Carpenter content
you would go by yourself when you stuff is, Oh no,
I would. You would way too no. I would look
way too weird, too nervous. That's like twelve year olds.

Speaker 11 (18:30):
Might look like a creeper exactly.

Speaker 9 (18:32):
Oh yeah, that's right. She has a younger audience, exactly.
I think he was trying to pimp me out to
go with him. Well, he's like you can if a
gay boy guy, a gay guy goes and he goes.

Speaker 11 (18:40):
And we're all good.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Yeah, then I'm fine.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
Okay, but Dua Lipa has an older audience, he is
more diverse, that's right.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah, yeah, and I consider myself diverse. What is that?
What was that all about?

Speaker 5 (18:54):
H It's like, hey, look, I am an ally of diversity.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
That's true.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Yeah, all right, she's worth one hundred and twenty million dollars.
Go to Instagram and see the funniest deleted scene from
the Office that I've never seen before. I'm a big
fan of the show. Came to the party late, but
I've seen probably almost every deleted scene from that show,
and I've never seen.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
This one before. What is it?

Speaker 5 (19:22):
It's Mike, Michael Scott and Dwight and Dwight talking about
what they would bring with them they're getting. It's a
deleted scene from when they're getting ready to go to
Jim's wedding. Okay, I didn't know that that makes even funny.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
All right.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
They're going to Jim's wedding and they have a discussion
on how many and how to protect themselves from another
woman therewith getting pregnant.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Okay, yeah, you have kids in the car.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
I don't want to, you know, spell it out in
plain English, but here it is.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
This is great.

Speaker 6 (20:00):
Bring condoms, yes, extra large. I brought seventy eight condoms.
Oh man, three days.

Speaker 9 (20:07):
You can have sex seventy eight times, three days, twenty
six times.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
How many condoms do you use each time? Three one?

Speaker 7 (20:29):
I love sending him clips and then I get the
response hysterical.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
I don't know why they deleted that.

Speaker 7 (20:35):
Yeah, it's there's some scenes because I watched like the
super episodes that they have on Peacock, and I'm like.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Why did they get rid of that one?

Speaker 6 (20:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (20:43):
That one?

Speaker 9 (20:43):
Like, yeah, that's gonna be stuff this weekend.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
I will say that that is the funniest show ever.
It really is great, so funny. If you want to
see you got to see the reaction from those two
actors in the facial expression.

Speaker 7 (20:58):
Yeah, it is hysterical, and part is more visual because
his realization is so good.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
That's one of the great characters of all time, Michael.
So for sure one percent. It just is awesome. All right,
So we've covered the weeh water you know, accident. God
only knows when that street is going to be repaired.
Maybe we'll do it. Let's do some predictions here. I'm
gonna write him down, all right, steph wush. When do

(21:25):
you think traffic is back to normal on sunset?

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Man?

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (21:31):
I would say maybe some time like late September.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Okay maybe, Okay, this is this is great man. This guy.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
Look, he drives through La more than any of us,
you know, he drives Arlen. Where do you live what not?

Speaker 11 (21:54):
I'm on the west side, west side okay, yeah, near
Marina Dore.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Okay, so you're also drive through La. Yes, okay, all right.

Speaker 5 (21:59):
What is your best guess when this street is going
to be totally repaired where there's no signs of that
pipe breaking and everything's back to normal.

Speaker 11 (22:10):
I think it might be September sometimes.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
Oh yeah, you're gonna go September yeah, okay, wow, all right,
all right July so yeah, okay, Angel.

Speaker 10 (22:22):
I'm going to push it into October. No way, Yeah,
it's like October Friday, October second.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
Wow, October second. Okay, and you, Eileen, you have early September,
late September mid I'll take early, okay, early, I establishment
late September.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Ritchie.

Speaker 9 (22:42):
I'm also going to say early early, say like October fifteenth,
before the Halloween parade hopefully.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
Okay. All right, So I'm the only one left here.
All right, I'm gonna say mid March.

Speaker 10 (22:58):
March, yeah, of twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah, too early?

Speaker 5 (23:04):
Wow, Okay, No, I'm going to change mine. I'm gonna
I think I'm going to nail this here. And I
think you guys are all wrong. I think Caltrans listens
to the station and they are going to be really
really pissed with the October guesses.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
They are going to be livid.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
So they're going to hands off the leaning shovels and
they're going to get to work. I'm going to say
that everything is totally back to normal where you can't
tell there was an accident there by Thursday of next week.

Speaker 10 (23:36):
No way, Yes, I mean no way, that's.

Speaker 11 (23:39):
Really I mean, are they just going to patch that
one little section or are they actually going to address
a little bigger section of it since that's a problem.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
That section is not due to be replaced till twenty
thirty one. Wow, So they're going to do a quick repair,
pave it over, and they're gone.

Speaker 11 (23:54):
And wait for it to happen again.

Speaker 12 (23:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
So yeah, and it will and it will happen probably
in that right, that same area. All right, So I
have Thursday Eileen has early September, Ritchie has October fifteenth,
Angel October second, and Steph U's late September. So I'm
gonna keep this in my folder here, and I think
I'm gonna smoke all you. I think by next Thursday

(24:16):
or Friday, it's wide open and back to normal. And look,
I'm the only thing I'm saying that is because I
when you say something like that and you give those
guys that early date, they're gonna they're gonna want to
match that. I guarantee you that people who work for
the DWP listen to this station one hundred percent. They're

(24:37):
always in their cars, they're you know, they're fairly bright people.
They don't listen to music a lot. They want talk radio.
I think if we opened the phone and said do
you work for the LEDWP, we'd light all every one
of those phones up with people who work for the
DWP who listen to this show. And I am usually

(24:57):
glass half empty. I'm going last half full, and I
say Thursday, six days from today, back to.

Speaker 11 (25:05):
Normal, totally normal.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
And if you guys struction right, none, and if you
guys didn't say October or September, I would have gone
Wednesday or Tuesday next week.

Speaker 11 (25:13):
Are we gonna put money on it?

Speaker 5 (25:16):
I don't know, I don't know. I mean maybe a
small amount of money. I'd heat to take all your
guys cash, you know, because you are gonna get wiped
out next Thursday. Traffic on Sunset back to normal, buses moving,
no signs of that damage. Now, there's still gonna be
signs of damage where the water affected the homes and

(25:37):
stuff like that. But I'm saying Sunset Boulevard wide open
next Thursday, for next weekend, totally wide open and very
few signs of any problem there. I am betting on you,
Caltrans I'm betting on you, So don't let me down,
because you know you you owe us won.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I don't know why, but why not? Yeah right, just.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
Fix this thing and do it before next Thursday so
I can throw it in all of their faces. I'm
gonna laugh in all your faces when this thing opens
next Thursday. This is gonna beat me on the air,
laughing in your face. Okay, you are all four of
you are going down next Thursday that Sunset Boulevard is open.

Speaker 12 (26:22):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
Hey, summer has officially started. There are two signs in
southern California that summer midsummer is here, I mean, the
full blown summer is here. And one of them is
the Orange County Fair opens up. That's a great hang
in Orange County and coast to Mesa. And the other
one is del Mar Racetrack, and they are both ready

(26:53):
to roll. Orange County Fair and del Mar Racetrack. I
don't remember them ever opening on the same day. Maybe
that's happened in the past. I was just unaware of it.
By del Mar beautiful, beautiful track. They call it where
the surf meets the turf, that's the term in del Mar,

(27:14):
and just a really cool place to go watch horse
racing in San Diego. It's just north of San Diego,
near the Torry Pines area and just absolutely beautiful, beautiful
del Mar. If you've never been down there before, you've
got to go down and check it out. The only

(27:34):
drawback with going down there is the efing, efing traff
fingic traffic. It is the absolute worst. When you go
down to Delmar. It could take you four and a
half or five hours on a Saturday, unless you leave
really really early in the morning. You know, you'd have

(27:55):
to leave at six o'clock in the morning, maybe five
point thirty, and then it's manageable two and a half
hours or so. But if you leave at ten o'clock
in the morning, eleven o'clock, it's gonna take you four
hours to get down there. So either take the train
or you know, there's a song by Bing Crosby where
the surf meets the turf at Old del Mar and

(28:18):
then it goes take a car, take a train, take
a plane, take a car. I think that's let me
see how it goes here, and it's it's a great
old old song, take a train, my whole childhood.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
All right, here we go sing it. If you know it.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Where the surf meets this turf.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Well I screwed it up.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
It's where the turf meets the surf, where the turf
beats the serf.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Okay, turf meets the serve padle, Take a plane, take.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
A train, whatever you do. Don't take a car because
it's four hours of driving down.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Take a car.

Speaker 5 (29:16):
Don't take a car. You'll want to kill yourself by
the time you get there.

Speaker 6 (29:21):
All right.

Speaker 5 (29:21):
They played the whole thing with that interrupting it. This
is a beautiful, beautiful song. If you spend any time
down there in the summer, you know this song.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Where the turf meets the serve down at all Alma,
Take a plane, take a train, take a car. There's
a smile on every face and the winter needs raise.
Where the turn meets the serf at the Oh.

Speaker 5 (30:03):
What a saw? Yes, del Mar, California. Okay, so del
Mar is open. They ran today. I didn't do well,
didn't cash ticket, but that's pretty typical. And then the
other thing that signifies we're open and radically in the

(30:23):
middle of summer is the Orange County Fair and it
is open. This is the part almost everyone asked about,
what's new with the fair this year?

Speaker 12 (30:32):
With the food.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
What is chicken Charlie gonna come up with this year?
This is Charlie Pagoski and he is Chicken Charlie.

Speaker 5 (30:38):
We came over here because, by the way, Chicken Charlie
will always be on my s list. Mondo brought down guacamole,
and Chicken Charlie fried it, and I'm and he hadno
Mondo created fried guacamole, is what I'm trying to say.

(30:58):
And somebody at that fair now serves fried guacamole, and
I think there's more than just a coincidence. I think
Mondo owns that idea. Well, you were there with us
when we when we had an angel.

Speaker 10 (31:15):
Yeah, it was the first year that Monto tried the
deep fried guacamole.

Speaker 11 (31:21):
That's right, and Chicken Charlie.

Speaker 10 (31:23):
Was kind enough to let Monto uses fryer to make it.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
And now he owns it. I guess now he's selling
fried guacamole.

Speaker 7 (31:34):
Totally every time I come.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
This is what everybody asked me about.

Speaker 7 (31:36):
What are they going to have here?

Speaker 1 (31:37):
What's your creations? You're holding this right here? Tell me
what this is. What's Mondo's creation? This year we saw
it was over.

Speaker 14 (31:43):
Stupped, so they give you a good thank you for
being here. This is our chicken shower, macone. You can
get it in a wrap, you can get it in
a cone.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
You know.

Speaker 14 (31:50):
The pickles are homemade. I made them, the Tahini songs,
the tomb everything is fresh made here.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Or Mondo made him.

Speaker 14 (31:57):
This is one of the new items. We also have
a bunch of other stuff too.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Like Mondo's guacamole.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
We're going to tell us about some of this stuff.

Speaker 14 (32:04):
This is a fried mango nada right here, it's fresh
mangos deep fried top with taheen and CHAMOI.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
This sounds like something Mondo came up with.

Speaker 14 (32:12):
This right here is exclusive to the Orange County Fair.
The fried turmasou Oh okay, another one I brought back,
the fried orios. Of course I invented those two to
three decades ago.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
If he says fried guacamole, I'm driving down. Look at this.

Speaker 14 (32:24):
This is our five dollars special before five from eleven
to five every day this at this location, you get
chicken legs. At the other one, it's fried avocados. What
it's fried avocados?

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Mmmm? He backed off. The guacamole.

Speaker 14 (32:39):
At the other one, it's fried avocados.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Close close, So.

Speaker 14 (32:43):
Much new things at the OC Fair opening day to day.
I can't wait to see everybody.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
You know.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
The question I've got is we've become used to these
crazy creations you come up with.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
But the first time you did this, were you just
sitting around with some friends.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
You've been knowing what thirty years?

Speaker 3 (32:58):
He said?

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Hey, what if I throw this in a deep How
did this start?

Speaker 8 (33:01):
You know?

Speaker 14 (33:02):
The first thing I ever invented was the fried Orioles.
And I was with this guy who was I think
nine years old.

Speaker 5 (33:06):
Yeah, by the way, the fried oreos come with a
gift certificate ten percent off Saint Joe's in Orange County
in the emergency room and you'll need it.

Speaker 14 (33:15):
And my brother Tony, come here, come here, come, come,
come in. My brother Tony. I said, we need the
apple pie and McDonald's. We're you know, we had all
chicken and no dessert. And so I invented fried oreos.
And since then we've just been every time we see
anything we think, can we fry that?

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Yeah? All right?

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Or OC Fair open for business? You don't, but you
gotta be careful. Don't wait too long to get tickets
because they do sell that place out.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Now.

Speaker 5 (33:38):
They limit the tickets they sell. So if you want
to take your family there, get tickets now so you're
prepared and you don't get shut out. It's Conway Show.
We're live on KFI AM six forty. This is KFI.
