RAMS WIN!!!
The Rams keep the momentum going, and the playoff buzz is real across LA.

Michael Monks joins the show to break down a major LA Metro proposal to connect Westwood and Van Nuys through the Sepulveda Pass, as transit leaders push rail projects forward ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

A wild police pursuit involving a box truck near the LA River grabs attention — plus a reminder as the city prepares for the Olympics: behave. And yes, a nostalgic throwback to Prell and Wella Balsam makes an appearance.

And it all comes back to football — the Rams are just one win away from the Big Show. 🏈🔥

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM sixty and you're listening to the Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app KFI AM six
forty Conway Show.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
We're live. We're not on tape. This is a live program.
And to prove that, I don't know, I don't know
how to prove it. All right, go to the La
Times website, I guess, and I'll read you the stories
there explaining California's billionaire tax, the proposals, the backlash and

(00:32):
the exodus. And another one here, will UCLA be for
us to stay at the Rose Bowl? Legal scholars weigh
in on the case. All right, those are two news
stories that are currently up on the La Times website
and I could not have predicted those. So we are live.
We're live, Rams win, Rams win, Denver wins. Two Belo teams. Yes,

(00:55):
Mike cool is that you're down a quarterback though, oh.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Man, don't remind me how depressing.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
The worst man you get to the Super Bowl for
the first time in four hundred years.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I'm so bad for both.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Oh Man, Well, he broke his ankle. I guess. Huh
h oh, that's horrible. That's terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Surgery tomorrow out.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, And he's and you know what, I think the
Patriots are still only like five point favorites in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
It's our defense.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I guess, so, I guess. So did you watch the
Rams game?

Speaker 3 (01:25):
I did?

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:27):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
With John? Who's at your husband? Who's that coach?

Speaker 6 (01:29):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
I gotta tell you. I kind of found out. I
think he's a bigger Rams fan than a Broncos fan.
He's something slip and I was.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Like, oh, is that right?

Speaker 3 (01:40):
You're secretly a Rams fan a Bronco fan?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Wow? Is that right? Man? Oh man? Was he originally
a Broncos fan?

Speaker 3 (01:47):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Where's he from?

Speaker 3 (01:49):
He's from Michigan. Oh, okay, he's a Lions fan big time.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Oh that sucks. That's depressing.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
But he has clearly adopted.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
The Rams good and the more than marry. Do you
think he'll go to the watch party at Sofi? Is
he that big?

Speaker 7 (02:04):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, I might go. I'm toying with going. I asked
my wife, I said, hey, do you want to go?
You want to go to the watch party at Sofi Stadium?
And she just looked at me and she said, Tim,
that's all. She said.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
She doesn't even want to walk out to the patio
to look at the WOW crew lying over.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I'm yelling and screaming all through the fourth quarter of
the entire fourth quarter, I'm screaming and whistling and yelling.
She never left her office, never came in see what
was going on.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
She's used to it. You watched the State. She doesn't
know if you're watching.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Like last yearsday game or the Dodger of Game seven. Right, yeah,
she doesn't know. But I found this really embarrassing. I'm
not going to say which station did this because I
don't want to embarrass them. But I was watching a
news program today, local news, so okay, so it's either two, four, five, seven, nine,
or eleven that's it. I'm not going to say who
it was. And they were doing the typical stories you know, Minneapolis.

(03:04):
I Chase Lapd being investigated the stabbing after Martin Luther
King Junior parade. By the way, whoever did that stabbing,
you are on the s list in Martin Luther King
Junior's world, because he would not have approved of that
stabbing somebody at his parade.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
Rageous.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
So I was watching a news program and they got
to the Dodgers forty one minutes into the newscast, forty
one minutes. If you live in Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Boston

(03:43):
and you win that game, top of the news for
fifteen or twenty minutes. Denver top of the news fifteen
minutes easily, same with Boston, same with Seattle. And who
else is left Denver? I bet yeah, and Seattle, Boston
and Denver, all three of those news story when the

(04:04):
news programs come on today, fifteen to twenty minutes of
reaction of a hysteria of people celebrating, people going to
the game, to the you know, they're getting ready for
the game, having watched parties all that crap in La
forty one minutes, forty one minutes to just mention it,
and they did, like a minute and a half on it,

(04:26):
forty one minutes into the newscast. I was shocked. I
couldn't believe it. That should have been the lead story. Yeah,
the Rams are the lead story here in LA. They're
the big story. It brings everybody together. Everybody's a Rams
fan today, I guess. I don't know, but I looked
at the odds the Rams before the very first game
of the season, the twenty twenty five twenty twenty six season,

(04:49):
the Rams who are twenty to win twenty to one
to win the Super Bowl twenty to one. And for
people that aren't good at math, you put one thousand
dollars down in Vegas and they give you when you win.
If they win twenty one thousand dollars, you get your
bet back and then they give you the twenty thousand dollars.

(05:10):
That's a great bet. Seattle before the season started, sixty
to one off a thousand dollars bet. You can make
sixty thousand dollars Denver, Belly, I'm gonna ask you, what
do you think Denver was preseason to win the Super Bowl?

Speaker 3 (05:29):
A super long shot because they were struggling.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
I think what they was?

Speaker 3 (05:33):
What was the Rams?

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Rams were twenty to one. Seattle is sixty to one
hundred to one hundred to one, close twenty five to one?
Oh really yeah? Second favorite still playing the Patriots eighty
to one because they didn't have anything going on. They
had nothing going on in Boston. They were eighty to one.
And I guarantee you there are an s load of

(05:57):
Boston die hard fans who put a ten, or a
twenty or a thousand on the Patriots to win the
Super Bowl. They do it every year, and if you
put a thousand bucks, you were going to get back
eighty one thousand dollars for one thousand dollars. Bet they're
going to give you eighty one thousand dollars. Chicago. I

(06:19):
felt bad for the fans in Chicago because I woke
up this morning out of my mind with happiness that
the Rams won and they're moving on to play Seattle.
But if you lived in Chicago, the game was late.
It was about four degrees when the game was over,
and you woke up this morning, your team is out

(06:40):
of it, and you have to go to work in
four or five degree weather. You got to put on
five layers of clothing. You got to go to a
job you don't like. You got to deal with traffic.
You got to deal with the fact that your windshield
wipers are frozen to your windshield because you were two
buzz last night to take them off the windshield or

(07:01):
put your warming jacket on your car. And what did
I do. I got up this morning, I had a
cup of coffee, and then I went outside, sat in
the sun and just hung out and looked at my
phone for a while, and then I cut the lawn.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Just rubbing it in, that's right, rubbing it in.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
And they lost.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Well, it's also a heartbreaker because they thought they were
going to win it because of that huge catch, right.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
That's right. Yes, Well, you know the Rams have the best,
the quickest, the best defenders in all of football. And
proof of that is when Chicago played Green Bay last week.
Chicago scored twenty five points in the fourth quarter, twenty
five points. When they played the Rams, they scored seven.
And they were very lucky to get those seven, very lucky.

(07:45):
The chance of getting those seven the same way, probably
about two percent that pass when that play started, it
was about a two percent chance of completion, and it happened,
and then the and then Curl gets the pickoff. In
over time, Rams kick a field goal with my boy
the thicker kicker, which is kind of insulting. I think

(08:07):
I don't think I can get away with that here.
You know, if somebody's overweight refer to them as thicker,
I bet it's an HR visit for me for sure.
Can you imagine that if I if I did, if
I said to somebody who's overweight at iHeart, I go, hey,
it's the the you know, the thicker tricker or the
thicker you know whatever it is, salesman or whatever or

(08:30):
saleswoman gone. Hr yeah, but you can do that in sports,
I guess the thicker kicker. That's great. So the Rams
are going to play Seattle and Patriots are going to Denver.
That's a home game for you, Belly, you should go. Yes, yes, okay,
but I'm not paying for anything. I'm not paying for

(08:53):
your ticket or your flight, or your lodging or your
food or nothing. That's all on you.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
So rude.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Well no, it's a it's not rude at all. Why
Why would I pay for you know, you to go?
How about that for rude asking that?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
God, here's a chance it could be Rams Bronco super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Correct, Yes, well not one hundred percent, but I mean
it could. But you know, I have a friend who
I met through the station who's loosely associated with the Rams.
He works in season tickets and very nice guy. He's
the one that set me up for the tour of Sofi.
He's the one that you know, told me where to

(09:31):
park and set me up. It was great. So I
text him every once in a while. You know, he's
a big Rams fan, So my and I text him
about two weeks ago. I said, Buddy, I said, I
know this might be a long shot, but do you
have any way to get to McVeigh, the the coach.
And he just text me back one word? Why the letter?

(09:54):
Why one letter? And I I text him back, said
I think I have a play that can work. And
he immediately called me. He called me like before he
even got the text. The phone rings, I pick up,
I go hello, and he goes, you've got to be
kidding me. He said, you think you in Burbank who've

(10:19):
never played, you've never coached, you as you haven't even
gone to a game this year. You think in Burbank
you've got You're sitting on the couch and you have
something that Sean McVay hasn't thought about. You have a play.
And I said, yeah, I got to play. And he said,
I'm embarrassed to know you right now. You seem like

(10:40):
a guy who's off his rocker, like like legitimately needs help.
I said, oh, look, I'm not looking for a lecture.
He goes, well, you need one because all your friends
should have done this for you. You don't have it.
You don't you you should, you should just watch the game.
Just watch the games and leave the playing to the players,
leave the coaches calling the plays, not you. And I said,

(11:02):
I am going to call the the Seattle Seahawks, Then.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Why don't you call the Broncos Broncos.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
I'm gonna come back and I'm gonna tell you my play. Okay.
I had it all charted out with x's and o's.
And you're a football gal, right, as a matter of fact,
get John on the phone that John Bellio? Can I
Can I tell John Bellio my play? He's a football coach, right, yes?
Can I tell him my play and see if it'll work?

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Okay, let's see if we can get him on today. Okay, okay,
And I got to play. It's an NFL level play.
I thought of it, and I want to see from
a coach like your husband if anyone's ever thought of
it and be would it work in the National Football League?
All right, we're gonna try to hook that up. I
have a play I've got to play. I can put

(11:49):
it over the top for the rams.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I am six forty.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
We're trying to get John Bellio on the phone. He
is a high school football coach. He's very good what
he does. And I have a play that I've thought
of over the last four or five years that I
think the Rams could use to beat Seattle. So we're
going to try to get John on the phone. In
the meantime, Monks is with U's hy you, Monks. I'm
glad to be with you here on this holiday. I
used to see it out there, isn't it man. I

(12:18):
got to tell you. I thought it was just a
regular day until I got here and the parking lot
is empty. I'm the only guy parking on the second level. Yeah,
there's usually one hundred and fifty cars there. I pulled
in and thought, wait a second, what did I miss?
But who takes this day off? Though? Well, there are
certain I understand the federal Yeah, well there are federal
Do you say, do you read the company emails, the
internal emails? Not really? You probably got it. Yeah, And

(12:41):
it has the list of dates that the main offices
here are closed, and this is one of them. This
is one of them. President's Day, by the way, is
going to be another one where you won't see anybody
here except for I mean the news team is here
if you want to be.

Speaker 8 (12:55):
But I would feel.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Bad taking off Martin Luther King Junior's birthday. That's not
for me, you know. That's that's for people who have
fought for civil rights and you know, accomplished more in life,
not for you know, some idiot from the valley. Well,
I would say, it's for America. And if you want
to take a moment to recognize the progress and civil rights, uh,
this is a day to do that. Okay, But before
we get into that, how about a moment to give

(13:18):
some cash out. Let's do it? Yes, all right, here's
how we get some cash to some lucky listener. If
they are the winner, here we go. Maybe not.

I was confused because Bellio came in and said, we're
ready to give the cash away with the sounder, and
I thought that meant that everybody was ready. I guess
I was wrong. Oh, let's not pick on foosh. It's
a holiday. Look, he's got one bad arm and it's
his primary arm that's down, so he's got to do

(14:13):
everything with his second secondary hand. He's in their pressing
buttons with his toes. Have you've seen that it's flexible?
He's I'll tell you, I bet I've heard foosh from
your dad. You drive slower nowadays? Is that true? A
little bit? Yeah, a little bit? Huh yeah? All right, Monks,
is here the La Metro fine, I've been talking for
forty years about that. There's a couple of things we're

(14:35):
gonna talk about with La Metro. Yes to more subway,
and yes to preparing for the big events that are coming,
including the World Cup this summer. So first we're talking
about traffic. Right today, I was surprised driving in like
the one ten was completely open. Oh good, the one
thirty four, which I now have to avoid because they're
making some changes at the five interchange. I don't even
take it anymore. I cruised across that today and I thought,

(14:56):
isn't this nice? But everybody knows traffic in southern California
is a mess. And let me ask you, you're an
expert on southern California. If you live in Van Nuys
and you need to get the Westwood, what's the route? Okay?
Van Eyes? Obviously you take the four five and you
crawl through the pass the alternative to Pultive. That sucks town.
You know how many people take that route? Four hundred

(15:19):
thousand wow a day? And yes, and they're losing fifty
nine hours a year to traffic. Wow. So La Metro
a committee, the Planning Committee of the ly Metro Board,
which made up a lot of names from local politics
that you know, they have given the preliminary okay to
this subway plan nine miles underground, which are the best

(15:40):
ones in the metro system. We're taking the B line
from from Downtown up to North Hollywood, the D line
from Union Station through Koreatown which is extending all the
way to Westwood. Also, those are the best ones because
they don't get stuck at traffic lights. They don't have
to deal with the cars like some of the light
rail stations exactly. This is gonna be one of those
I can't wait. It's been talked about since I was

(16:01):
about twenty or twenty five, and hopefully I'll be around
where I can not right, you will. I mean, you've
got some vices you might need to address. But what
year is completion? Okay, here we go. I hesitate to
even say, but look, they've got this D line. It's delayed,
but it's four Look you have this ground here in

(16:21):
southern California. The topography is very challenging. Sure to dig in.
It's a little bit scary. Even the D line is delayed,
but they've moved on that rather fast. My reading of
the information available right now on this says somewhere around
twenty thirty three to thirty five. Well, that's not bad.
So I would say twenty sixty one, Okay, that's not bad.
That's not bad. I think that's actually more. That was

(16:44):
actually shoot And I thought I was gonna say like
twenty seventy five exactly. So, yeah, somewhere in the mid
twenty thirties, you should be able to hop on this
thing if it's a proof. So we're bringing it up
because the full La Metro board will be taking this
up on Thursday. Everyone seems pretty excited about this. Again,
it's not like the A Line, for example, which goes

(17:04):
from Long Beach all the way up to Azusa. It's
the longest train that they've got in La County. It's
it's a great ride. You get to see everything, but
it is a long ride. How long is an hour
street If you're going from Long Beach Union Station, it's
an hour. If you're going up to Issusa, if you're
taking the full thing, it's a two hour trip. But
if you were to drive from Long Beach to Azusa,
how long would that take you? That's about an hour

(17:25):
forty five minutes. Except when you take the train, you're
not worrying about the traffic, you're not paying for that
gas all the time. So there are advantages to taking
this thing this. When I used to take the Metro,
I loved it. Yeah, I loved it. Yeah. Yeah. It
needs to be cleaner and a little give you the
sense that you're okay. I used to put my daughter
on it. I used to take my daughter and her
friend Bridget and We used to go to the King's

(17:47):
game and they were probably six or seven years old,
and I totally trusted and their parents trusted me with
the kids to go down there and go to the
game and come back. You would take the bus or
the train, the train, the train, oh cool, the red line, yes,
now it's the day line. Yeah, yes, you can catch that.
And those are the best ones again because they don't
get stuck in traffic and they're prefast. I could take
when I was taking it a lot to get up here.

(18:08):
I could take it from a Pershing Square downtown to
Studio City and it's a twenty two minute. Ryme. Look,
I'm pro Metro. It's just that they in recent years
they have not gotten it together, got to get and
they don't talk about it seriously enough. They recognize it's
a problem, they try to address it, but they're not

(18:28):
they haven't talked about it seriously enough. But by the
time this subway opens, this new Metro Police Department which
is coming will be fully stood up, because that's coming
in twenty twenty nine, and they have a huge budget, huge, huge, huge,
and this police force is going to be very large,
excellent as well. You've got anything else or is that
around very quickly. I'm just going to let you know
that they are planning to clean up these stations and

(18:50):
gun for the World Cup, which is our first big
test as we get the Olympics coming a few years later.
They say, all this work is sort of a precursor
to what we kind to do when the bigger crowds come.
They're also going to have commemorative tap cards that you
can buy to honor the World Cup. They're going to
be lighting up the stations, having live events, soccer theme
events going on at these stations. A bunch of buses

(19:10):
are coming in. They're expecting a ton of people for
those games. It's so far. You know, I went down
downtown recently for jury duty and I parked in the
Disney Hall and you walk to the the courthouse, and
I got to tell you it was the cleanest I've
seen LA in twenty years. That section of downtown is
typically pretty clean. Okay, Yeah, that's where all the museums are.

(19:31):
At the concert Hall, they keep a clean Come over
to my neighborhood. I'll point to some stuff. All right, monks,
are you back seven and nine this week on Saturday?
What have you given up the Gold Show. No, are
you now always moved to eight to think you've completely
screwed me? Nah, I didn't mean to do that. It's okay.
We're glad to have you on the weekend family. I
love the weekends here. I love coming in watching Neil
Savedra pound it out with ice cream or whatever he's eating.

(19:53):
It goes from Neil to you, to Tiffany Hobbs and
then I'm back clean up there at the end is great.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI A sixty.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
We had a pursuit here of a box truck a
box truck and ended up. I don't know, Bellio, I
mean a angel know. But let's find out some more
about this box truck that was running away from the law.
The long armor of the law finally caught up with
the box truck.

Speaker 7 (20:23):
To this pursuit of box truck being chased by the
La County Sheriff's Department.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Oh La County, ding Dong.

Speaker 7 (20:30):
It was eastbound here on District Boulevard when it tried
to serve.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Around a try to serve around why a.

Speaker 7 (20:38):
Spike strip that the Deputy's put out on the street
Let's go to some video that we shot as that happened. Now,
they were pursuing this box truck for at least ten
minutes that we know of. It was eastbound on District
Boulevard when the vehicle swerved violently there and overturned.

Speaker 8 (20:56):
Onto its side.

Speaker 7 (20:57):
The Sheriff's Department.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Box Truck Rock Down, Box Truck.

Speaker 7 (21:02):
Down came in quickly to rescue.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
I can just see what's the heule houser. So that's
a box truck. So it looks like a box. Is
that how it got its name? The box truck.

Speaker 7 (21:14):
Came in quickly to rescue the driver out of that
cab of the truck, and you can see the deputies
coming into the see now, one concern that we're seeing
right now is some leakage coming out of the truck.
We don't know if that's fuel or the.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Contents or blood. We've got a couple of bodies in
the back of the box truck. Where is the word?

Speaker 3 (21:35):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Where is this box truck flipping over?

Speaker 9 (21:38):
It is in the city of Vernon along District Boulevard,
and that is right at Corona Avenue. Now, this is
just to the west of the seven ten Freeway and
it's just south of the La River and all those
train tracks that run side of the river.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
So like near the five and the seven ten south
of them.

Speaker 9 (21:59):
Yeah, it's it's a bit south of the five. It's
west of the seven ten, and it's closest to the
La River and the train track.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Excellent, excellent description, Angel Martinez. Excellent, Well, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 7 (22:13):
Or the contents inside the truck. We did see that
the deputies moved their vehicles back quite a distance, and
now the fire department's on scene to check out exactly
what they have inside of that box truck. You can
see how far the fire department vehicles and the deputy
vehicles are. They were right on top of that truck
when it turned over. They quickly moved further back, and

(22:33):
now the fire Department's going to investigate exactly what's inside
of that truck. As for the driver, the driver didn't
appear to be injured. Was taken into custody and put
into one of the squad cars. But now it's the
fire department's turn to figure out exactly what was inside
of this stolen van. That's the latest overhead up in
Sky five. I'll send it back to you in the studio.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Mischief makers. You guys got it straighten up. Before we
get the World Cup and in the Olympics, we've got
to put on our best clothes, our best smile, our
best you know, dress of the Nines during the World
Cup and the Olympics. And please, please, I'm talking to
the people, take my glasses off here and just ask

(23:13):
you just a favor. Please, please don't rob, rape or
kill the people coming into town. They're visitors, there are guests.
Please don't kill these people. Don't rape them, don't rob them,
you know, don't steal their car, don't steal their their

(23:35):
their jewelry. Let's all pretend like we're a decent society
while they're here. Once they leave, knock yourself out, we'll
go right back to you know, you know, killing each
other and hitting each other over the head. But while
people are here from out of town, let's try to
act civilized. Okay. The world's coming to see us, and

(23:56):
they're going to report back to their friends and family
when they get back to Brazil or Japan or Saudi
Arabia or you know, or South Africa or Ireland wherever
they come from. Russia wherever they come from, they're going
to go back and they're going to tell people how
their experience was in Los Angeles, and it's going to

(24:17):
really help out tourism if they go back and they
rave about how great the city is, how clean it is,
how nice the people were, how safe it was, how
great the food was, how nice the accommodations were. That's
all going to matter when they go home. So please,
for God's sakes, don't f with the visitors. They're coming

(24:40):
as our guests. You wouldn't do that to guests in
your home, so please don't do it to the people
coming in town. Please. I'm begging you, please don't do that,
for God's sakes, and I'm going to I'm going to
keep begging you until they get here. Once people get here,
I'm not going to say anything because I don't want
people to believe that you're behaving just because we asked you.

(25:02):
We want people to believe that you're behaving your whole
life and this is a great place to live. But
while they're here for the World Cup and the Olympics,
let's all calm down and be friendly. You know, wash
your clothes, wash your hair, wash your hair, and shave

(25:24):
if you're you know, if you don't have a beard
or a mustache or a goatee or or lamb chop, sideburns,
whatever you got going uh clean shaven, nice tight, you know,
shirt ironed, iron ironed, ironed. Yes, And when people you
know stop you and ask for directions, don't take their
wallet and their jewelry. Give them directions. But please, and

(25:47):
also that's a big one, please wash your hair. Well.
The World Cup people are here and and they can
go home and say wow. The people in southern California
they really have really their hair spellunt behave hair. Yes, yeah,
shiny bouncing hair. It smells like prel They still make
that well at the yea if you go to the.

Speaker 3 (26:09):

Speaker 3 (26:31):

Speaker 9 (26:36):
I got it out of my my my food storage.
I loaded up on it years ago and I just

Speaker 2 (26:46):

Speaker 3 (27:07):
It was well, a balls in shampoo.

Speaker 2 (27:09):

you never have to say it again in my life. Yeah. Oh,
now he's going to use that as they drop. My
dad liked that shampoo. Please God Almighty. All right, we're
live on KFI AM six forty Rams Win and they're
moving on. They're playing in Seattle this weekend. Rams Win.

(27:34):
Rams go to Chicago and beat the hell out of
those Bears, and now they're going to play Seattle. If
they win that game, we are going to the super
Bowl in San Francisco. That is fantastic with them. Be
great Bellio, Denver, Rams super.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Bowl let's make that happen.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yes, and Rams roll over it.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
No way the second on that, Hey, the backup is
supposed to be pretty good.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
Yeah, I mean, backup quarterbacks have won Super Bowls. All
I don't know if that's happened. I think it happened
once in the world. I think that Patriots had a
backup quarterback. I'm gonna look this up or no, the
Eagle Eagles said one Eagles had a backup quarterback. I
don't know. I don't know it was a backup guy
because I've made a big deal about it.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
I can't remember his name, but I remember steven A.
Smith used to make fun of him. You know, we're
gonna win with this guy, this guy who is the quarterback,
Nick Foles. Yeah, remember steven A Smith, Nick volves, You're
gonna win with Nick Foles.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Nick.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
He get went on and off.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
So Terry Bradshaw, Trent Dilfer, and Jim McMahon were all
backup quarterbacks.

Speaker 7 (28:42):
One.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Yeah, okay, well then that's that can happen. It's going
to it's pretty rare, all right, we're live Rams when
they move on, and I'm toying with going to so
far for the watch party. Although I don't think I
can pause the my my wife said, you can't pause
or rewind the feed there. You just got to watch

(29:04):
what everybody else is playing. It's kind of run.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Rams win and they're moving on. They're going to Seattle
to play the Seattle Seahawks, and there's a lot of thrilled,
thrilled fans. Let's get some audio here from yesterday the
Bears and the Rams.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
What game you're looking at? A shrine to our Rams.
We are inside of Sports Empire at the Burbank Town Center.
Hey fans, we are one game away from the biggest
show in the ball this after we sent the Bears
back into hypernation. Rams fans are going nuts with their team,
one game away from making it to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Front House, Rams House. Who's Van's House?

Speaker 4 (29:53):
The Rams getting back into La this morning after a
nail bier of an overtime playoff win against the Chicago
Bears or dub Bears.

Speaker 8 (30:00):
Boo, Rams House, scream it.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
So the folks in the back can hear it.

Speaker 8 (30:05):
That's house.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
Even though the Rams battled Chicago on the frozen tundra
in their house. Our boys brave the frigid conditions, snagging victory.

Speaker 8 (30:16):
Oh m G.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Yeah, okay, o m G. It's always nice to hear
people of my age using lingo that was created by
you know, eight year olds.

Speaker 8 (30:29):
Oh m G.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yes, it was incredible.

Speaker 7 (30:34):
I mean, the Rams don't usually do well in the snow,
but they pulled it out.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
An exciting game.

Speaker 8 (30:40):
Insane, unbelievable. I couldn't believe it. It was such a great.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
Ending, the Rams ramming the Bears twenty to seventeen to
advance to the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Despite matching up against the Seahawks in their house, true
diehard Rams fans say, no matter where our boys play
becomes their house with a big W on top.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Who's house, ms house holds house?

Speaker 4 (31:07):
All the Rams gonna get it done, they always do.

Speaker 10 (31:10):
I think the Rams have it. I think they've got it.
Their quarterback is on fire, They're ready to rock and roll.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
The Rams offense is packed with an arsenal of super studs,
including Davante Adams.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
And and who else Davantam Pukah, Yesua Pookah.

Speaker 10 (31:28):
Oh my gosh, he is a complete stud. He is
a complete stud. I'll tell you, every time he gets
the ball, it's fire. You just can't wait to see
him get it. It's the greatest I.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
Was saying, man, that that that young man could catch
butter in the rain.

Speaker 8 (31:41):
Yeah, agreed.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
They gotta love Puoka. There will be a watch party
at Sofi Stadium for next week's NFC Championship matchup between
the Rams and Seahawks. You can get tickets at Ticketmaster. Hey, folks,
our Dodgers got it done? Want done one at all?
Why not the Rams? Right?

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Rams? Whose House? There's a lot of that going on
at so far during the watch party. I could do
without that, the Who's House? Rams House. But let's find
out more about this. This kicker Harrison MeVis or Mayvis.
His nickname is the Thicker Kicker. He's an American professional

(32:18):
football place kicker for the La Rams. He was born
Bellio in two thousand and two. He was not alive
during nine to eleven. Not alive. He played college football
for the Missouri Tigers and began his professional career when
he was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted

(32:41):
free agent in twenty twenty four. He attended Warsaw Community
High School in Warsaw, Indiana, where he lettered in football
and soccer. I bet he was a goalie. As a senior,
he earned All Conference and All State honors in football
while playing for the Tigers, who led it led him

(33:02):
to a nine to three record in football six a
state regional final. Let's find out more about this dude here.
As a freshman he went seventeen for twenty that's eighty
five percent on field goals during the game, and played
for Arkansas and now he's the Rams kicker. And there's
a ton of pressure on this kid. Last night, the

(33:27):
most pressure he's ever had in his life over time.
The whole world is watching him, and he puts it
through the uprights and we well shouldn't say we The
Rams move on and go to Seattle. That is a great,
great story. And the fans were lit up last.

Speaker 8 (33:47):
What a game.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
Almost every watch party in downtown LA was standing room only,
everyone waiting for a Rams win, and finally they got it.
But it did not come without an emotional rollercoaster.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
That's right, it was a struggle.

Speaker 8 (34:00):
What we might have happened?

Speaker 6 (34:01):
Rams fans in La celebrating Sunday night after a high
yes and every low from hundreds of miles away at
Tom's watch bar in La.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Chowei. I don't want to sit next to that one.
So fun.

Speaker 8 (34:22):
Rowe a back and forth battle.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
I might not go. We just watching home, a.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
Back and forth battle at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears,
with temperatures in the teams and a lot of doubt
about whether a.

Speaker 8 (34:36):
Warm weather team could survive the cold.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
I'm just breathing right now. Everybody's heart was stopped for
that acts like four minutes of the game.

Speaker 8 (34:44):
Is its Gray d Gray red great win.

Speaker 6 (34:47):
Tragedy struck when the Bears forced overtime with just seconds
left in the game.

Speaker 8 (34:51):
We got nervous. We got nervous for a second.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
We all got.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Nervous if we shouldn't have gone overtime.

Speaker 8 (34:56):
But we take the win however it comes.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
But an overtime interception or rams field goal and finally this.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Boom.

Speaker 6 (35:05):
That's the miracle that we needed for fans at the cosm.
This is what it took to secure the wind hunger resilience.

Speaker 8 (35:13):
We didn't quit. That's all that matters at the end
of the day. That's what LA is all about.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Yes, I'm with that guy. So LA is all about
what's next?

Speaker 8 (35:25):
Well, start placing your bets. Oh, we got super Bowl
and Super Bowls on this Ram. Super Bowl tens, baby,
give me one.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Second, you know, the the quickest way for the Rams
to get the super Bowl. And I'm gonna have to
put it on my shoulders here, and I think I'm
gonna do it. I'm gonna make a considerable bet on
Seattle and there's no way then they're jinxed, They're done.
If I make it's got to be a considerable bet.
It's got to be like three, four or five hundred bucks.

(35:53):
And I got to put it on Seattle and the
Rams could start packing for San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Make one on the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Then you give me the money and I'll throw one
on the Pain. It has to sting, you know if
I lose. So three hundred two, three hundred yeah, So,
I don't know how you count.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
If it's my money.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
As long as I make the bed, you're in, okay.
As long as I touch the money, okay, and give
it to the teller. Team's up, done, done, not even close.
They don't even have to play the game. Just give
it to the ramsay man, that would be great bellio
for the Rams and Denver to be in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
I know. That's what I told John. As soon as
the Rams won, I'm like Conway and my team, right.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
But look, if the Rams and Denver got in, we
would win either way, because I'd be thrilled for you.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
If Denver won, I also would be thrilled for you.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
So win win.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Situation, that's right. So we got to make that happen.
We got to get you. Denver's got to beat the Patriots,
and the Rams have got to beat Seattle and then
Super Bowl Sunday right here in Secon Francisco. But that
will be great. That'll be a huge, huge party. That
would be cool. All right. We're live Conway Show Live
