Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to The
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Hey, we've
got some bad news coming out of downtown Los Angeles,
out of City Hall with that water main breaking. That
was the breaking news on all the local stations. ABC

(00:23):
yesterday morning ran wall to wall coverage. I think so
did KTLA and NBC because of how much water was
dumped onto the streets of West Hollywood. They're saying now
close to seventeen million gallons of water, and so that
was a big story. The World Cup's a big story,
the Dodgers playing the Yankees. There's a lot of big

(00:44):
stories going on. So this story didn't get much publicity.
But there's haunting images from inside Los Angeles City Hall.
A somebody jumped off the building, off the city Hall
building and killed himself. And this is a teenager. This
is a nineteen year old man who died after jumping

(01:09):
off City Hall. And this happened yesterday, I believe so.
A nineteen year old man who died after jumping from
the LA City Hall building on Wednesday has been identified
by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office as Avery
Truesdale Avery Truesdale. Emergency room responders or emergency responders, i

(01:35):
should say, were called to the downtown Los Angeles building
shortly after four pm following reports of somebody had fallen
from the upper floors of City Hall. Law enforcement sources
told The California Post that Truesdale leaped from the observation
deck on the twenty seventh floor on the Spring Street

(01:56):
side of the building before landing on the front steps.
And where he landed, it's a very busy area. He
could have easily landed on somebody. He's not an employee there,
sources said. Truesdale was not a City of Los Angeles employee,
but he was wearing a visitor's badge when his body

(02:17):
was discovered. Visitors to LA City Hall they're required to
have a pass through to get through security and the screening,
and then obtain a temporary visitor badge and tell security
personnel the purpose of their visit and you know why
they're there and what destination they're going to. And so

(02:39):
he climbed all the way up to the observation level, which,
by the way, born and raised here, never knew that existed.
I have no idea. I've never been there, never heard
of it. I've been in City Hall maybe once in
my life. Maybe I don't even think i've been there once.
I've driven by it a million times, but just never

(03:01):
had any business to go in there. So Los Angeles
Police Department is investigating the death of an apparent suicide
on Thursday. Yesterday, parts of City Hall were cordoned off
with yellow crime tape as the investigators continued their work.
Steel security doors also blocked public access to portions of

(03:22):
the building. The City Hall observation deck, however, remained open
to visitors and somebody, I'm looking at it now, it says.
No further details about the circumstances surrounding Truesdale's death were
immediately available, but the let me see the LA City
observation deck. I wonder how tall the fences are there

(03:50):
where you can Oh, it's not even that tall. It's
the fencing on there is probably four feet four and
a half feet. It's very easy climb over. I bet
they're going to fix that. So the it's I guess
it's free to get up to the observation deck. And
you know, if you go up to the Empire State building.

(04:13):
It's almost impossible to climb up and crawl over there
and launch yourself, But here it looks fairly easy to do.
And I bet this will be the end of that.
I bet they'll put up fencing now that this has happened.
But this poor kid, you know, whatever he was going through,
you know, he's nineteen years old, he just graduated high school.

(04:39):
Whether it was you know, a breakup, a severe depression.
Maybe he didn't get into the college that he wanted.
Maybe he was an athlete and got hurt, and you know,
his athletic career is over. I don't know. I don't know,
but man, it breaks your heart that the parents, I

(05:01):
now have a million questions on you know, how this happen.
Where there are drugs involved, where there was there you know,
a fight with you know, a loved one, whatever it was.
You know, maybe the guy was broke, somebody broke up
with him and he just had had it. But now
the parents have to, you know, they'll second question everything

(05:25):
that they've ever done. So hearts go out to the
parents of that young man and hopefully they can find
some peace and and maybe discover why this happened. But
just very very sad, very sad. If we have any
more of that, we'll we'll bring that to you. Also,

(05:45):
on a lighter note, obviously, there's gonna be a meteor
shower tonight all the way through August that you'll be
able to see with the naked eye here in southern California,
and so you'll want to look up tonight. They say
it's going to be the heaviest in early August, but
you'll be able to see it starting tonight. A radical

(06:06):
meteor shower right over our heads. There's a star watch
party somewhere. Is that right too?

Speaker 2 (06:12):
For that.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Observation.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
One of the gazing parties. I have to look it up.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Is that the perse It meteor shower. Yeah, there's supposed
to be some huge alignment of like all the planets
tonight as well.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Really, mm hmm, that's not good.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Is that earthquake?

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yes, StarLAN, Yeah, I know you make it fun of me,
but yes, it is.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
It is.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
That's how they start. You know, there was one today
in Mexico. Yeah, you know, planets aligned gravitational force is
a little different. I don't know. I don't know, and
I know Tim everything is related to the San Andreas fault. No, no,
no it's not, but this could be.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
The southern California skies are in for a treat tonight.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
Meteor shower, labeled as the best meteor shower of the year,
starts this evening their proceedes proceed Henry, do you know
the proceeds per proceeds meteor shower? It will streak across
our night sky.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
The Calzoni shower is what it is.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
All the way until August twenty thirds.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
We have some time, the rough day, rough day for her.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
All the way until August twenty thirds, we have some time.
The particular meteor shower is tippic.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Tell okay.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
As I was getting the story together, like almost at
the exact same time, Richie did the exact same thing
that she did. What is it perceive perceede? And then
I heard it in the audio?

Speaker 7 (07:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (07:41):
No, I thought he had like a misspelling of it
or and I was like, wait, did you spell that right?

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Yeah? That should change the name of it to like,
you know, stands meteor shower.

Speaker 6 (07:53):
You know some we all know, typically the most impressive
of the year because it can produce the highest rate
of shooting stars in the night sky. The Persed's meteor
shower always occurs during warm summer night time weather signed
to say, a dark, remote location is your best spot.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Yeah, you gotta get up into the mountains to take
a look at this sucker. So let's head out to Joshua.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Maybe difficult for us here in the city, but beautiful
if you can catch it.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
On some occasions when everything is just right, conditions are right,
and you're in the proper place, those things are very
impressive to watch.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Yeah, that's true, that's true. But you got to get
out to the desert. You gotta get out.

Speaker 9 (08:31):
They do have that star party by the way at
Mount Wilson Observatory.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Oh is that right? It's until from seven to Is
anybody going to a soccer watch party for Sunday? Stephush?
I know you're Argentinian, aren't you. I am on your
mom's side, mom's side, Yeah, yeah, what's your dad's side?

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Full blood at Ecuadorian?

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Is that right? Wow? What a couple. Look what they've
produced this guy. Hey, is your mom excited about?

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Just like me, we're not really in sports, but she'll
watch it and I'm going to try to watch it
as well.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Yeah, no, watch parties. It's going to be a big event.
But they say over a billion people are gonna be
watching around the world. That is going to be huge.
Over a billion people. Unbelievable. All right, So we got
the meteor shower tonight. Go check that out. Costco's got
chicken fingers, Go eat, Go eat those and stay away

(09:23):
from a taco bell for a second or two. But
you know what, I'll get back into it. You know,
they'll clear this up pretty quick, you know. They they
lettuce that I bought the other day, I went because
I threw the bag away because I washed it and
through the bag away. So I had to go to
Pavilions to look for that same lettuce. And it's not
Tailor Farms, so I was I was clean on that one.

(09:45):
But if it was Tailor Farms, I'll be flipping it
wasn't the brand that you threw away. Yeah, brand I
threw away is not Taylor, so you would have been safe.
I am saying. I'm still eating it. By the way,
I still have it at home because I take it
out of the bag and I wash it. I put
it in a separate like a lunatic. I put in
a zip like oh my mom does that. Okay, thank
you very much, thank you. I love the comparisons. But

(10:08):
I so I had to go to Pavilions to see
if it was Taylor Farms and it was not. So
thank god, because I'm going to be on a cruise
starting Monday and that's not who you want a room
with a guy who has a projectile. But I think back.

Speaker 10 (10:23):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Forty not Barry Farm has been an announcement there postponing
the opening of one of their big attractions, the Forbidden Fortress.
What's going on with this suspension or postponement?

Speaker 9 (10:43):
Also an Orange County the opening of Montezuma the Forbidden Fortress.
It notts Very Farm has been postponed. So re Imagined
roller coaster was expected to launch this summer. It's been
closed for the past four years. Hell as the theme
park worked on a complete makeover of the attraction. Park
officials issued a statement saying, quote, the excitement surrounding Montezuma
continues to build and we want to ensure the best

(11:05):
possible experience for all guests. After careful consideration, we've decided
to postpone our upcoming media day. Well, we complete final preparations.
End quote. They did not reveal when the ride may open.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
All probably security reasons, safety reasons, so might as well
be safe than sorry. Tsunami. You know, there was a
tsunami warning out for a while because of that Southern
Mexico earthquake that happened about thirty miles off the coast.
A seven point three or seven point four earthquake rocked
southern Mexico, and so it has everyone thinking about how

(11:39):
to survive. And this woman has find tremendous peace of
mind where she can survive a tsunami in her tsunami pod.

Speaker 11 (11:50):
This two person, four and a half foot in diameter
spherical pod is what Genie and the Japanese market have
purchased from the company so far.

Speaker 12 (12:00):
And then I have to get my helmet and put it.

Speaker 10 (12:02):
They're realizing that this kind of product is something that
might become part of our everyday life if we decide
to live on the ocean.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
It makes people uncomfortable to think about dying, that's right.
It's been that way for hundreds of thousands of years.
It makes people uncomfortable to think about dying I'm in
that group.

Speaker 12 (12:19):
I don't think about dying anymore.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Really, you don't think about it every day.

Speaker 12 (12:24):
I think about having to get in here and lock
the door.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Ah, there she goes inside.

Speaker 11 (12:30):
She'll be strapped down, secure and air tight, safe from
whatever forces of nature are churning and swirling outside.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
A bit overboard to have your own tsunami pod.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
It's a very very robust structure.

Speaker 12 (12:46):
Heard.

Speaker 13 (12:47):
That's the emitter for the coast guard in the in
the marine band radio.

Speaker 12 (12:51):
It's along with a marine band radio.

Speaker 11 (12:53):
Genie's capsule carries fishing gear, flashing beacons, flares, a first
aid trauma kit, and enough food and water.

Speaker 12 (13:00):
There are four bladders of water.

Speaker 7 (13:02):
That's forty liters of fresh water to.

Speaker 12 (13:04):
Last her forty days.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Forty days in the ocean. How about this one?

Speaker 12 (13:08):
Oh well worth the effort and the cost.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Oh yeah, but it's something like that cost. I bet
twenty five grand.

Speaker 11 (13:15):
Thirteen five hundred dollars close for the basic capsule alone.

Speaker 14 (13:20):
It's less than my Harley Davidson and it's more than
a golf cart.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
It's kind of cool, right, I mean, I don't know
how you know how often you gonna use it?

Speaker 12 (13:33):
Pittance to pay. She says, for peace of mind. Tim Becker,
it's like an insurance policy. I guess coin six news.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
All right, coin six up in Portland, I believe, all right. Well,
if that's how she's gonna survive, you know, good for her,
Good on her. Don't forget. The Orange County Fair has opened.
That is a tremendous hang. People really enjoy that. So
get on out there and see it because and again

(14:01):
you need tickets to get in, and they do sell out.
They're starting to limit the amount of guests in the
area in the fair grounds. So make sure you get
your reservations and you got your tickets at hand. Don't
get shut out when you go there to buy tickets
and they have exceeded the limit, and then you got
to go home. The popular okay, here's something Vegas concert

(14:22):
issues Dropping like Flies. The concert covers the popular.

Speaker 13 (14:28):
Band Sleeping with Sirens, drawing a massive crowd to downtown
Las Vegas. The performance part of the Downtown Rock Summer
Concert series. One of the band's best known lyrics goes,
if you can't hang, then there's the door. But attendee say,
as people crowded in getting out of this venue was

(14:49):
nearly impossible.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Oh, very dangerous.

Speaker 15 (14:52):
They weren't letting people in and out.

Speaker 13 (14:53):
The performance at the Third Street stage. Sidney Chinnery, one
of the fans packed in with with everyone else.

Speaker 15 (15:01):
I don't think they were equipped for the crowd that
was going to be there. And I think that when
they realized that it was already too late and it
was just getting worse and worse, it was so bad that.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Sounds like a nightmare. All right, Angel Martinez, You're going
to be somewhere. You're going somewhere with your whares, your
summer wares, your sneakers, your flip flops.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Yeah, I'm going. I'll be at Ocean Festival in San Clemeny.
It's this weekend right at the in the Peer Bowl,
So you just go straight down to the pier and
all of the festivities, the surf contests, the competitions, the
art show, everything is down there all weekend long. It's

(15:40):
going to be great. Where what times, well the goes
It starts really early in the morning and it goes
all day Saturday and Sunday. Saturday and Sunday. Yeah, so
they'll be you know, music, they'll be sure an art area. Yeah,
they'll be flip flops, come on down, come for the

(16:01):
Ocean Fest. Leave a little naughty, okay, And since parking
is going to be really tough, so what you can
do is you can always park at the outlets in
San Clementy and take the trolley into the Pure Bowl.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Well that's a good idea. Yeah, that's a great idea.
All right, So you're gonna be down there all day Saturday,
all day Sunday. Where is it big enough where you
should describe where you're going to be or people just
find you.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Yeah, I'll be near the parking lot. That's where the art.
The art show is is right up there on the
grass in between the little hill and the parking lot.
So I'll be right over there, Spot twenty seven. Come
on down.

Speaker 8 (16:40):
Excellent sand listeners that go. Make sure you guys. Seek
a picture of the Angel and tag Calmway on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Yes, great, yeah, great idea. Ocean Festival and San Clemente
this weekend Saturday and Sunday. Go see Angel. She's in
Spot twenty seven, right near the parking lot, and buy something.
Don't just you know, bother her? Yeah, spend Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
It's a forty eighth annual Ocean Festival, Many Ocean Festival,
by the way.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
So what's the rule of thumb. The rule of thumb
is you got to spend the exact or more money
than the actual year. So you got to spend more
than forty eight dollars.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
All right, get on down there, Angel Live, good luck.
I hope you sell a billion.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Dollars worth, Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
All right there she goes Ocean Festival this weekend, San Clemente.
Buzz on down there. It's a great event and you
can meet Angel Martinez. And if you have a pension,
you'll be moved to the front of the line.

Speaker 10 (17:38):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
It's Friday. It's summer in southern California. You should have
something cool planned. You know, it's the weather's nights, it's
not too hot, and this is why we all live here.
Summers in southern California. Should be going out tonight, you know, socializing,
not staying at home on your phone or watching Netflix.

(18:05):
Get out out there and you know, do something cool.
All right, did we do that? Did we talk about
the Grandma's license plate yesterday? Or did we not.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
I don't think we did.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
But we didn't, okay, I guess I talked to my
wife about it when I was buzzed. Maybe that's what
That's what I thought. We talked about it on the show.
Grandma got a license plate. She's in Florida, and the
license plate rather shocking and attention getting. She lives in
one of these retirement homes or retirement villages, and let's well,

(18:39):
she'll tell you why her license plate is so crazy.

Speaker 14 (18:42):
That's one racy license plate. Seventy six year old Nancy
Dello Streeto says when she received her newly issued Florida
license plate in the mail, she was shocked when she
read the tag.

Speaker 12 (18:54):
I was upset.

Speaker 7 (18:55):
I was upset and felt it uh violated.

Speaker 12 (18:59):
The plate reads sqz A five five.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
It sounds like it looks like squeeze ass sqz ass.

Speaker 12 (19:08):
Plate reads sqz A five five.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
And she was upset, you know, rather older conservative. Later, lady,
she's not in the grab ass business anymore. But then
she started getting a lot of attention from the fellas
in the retirement village and now she loves the plate.

Speaker 14 (19:28):
But from a distance, it sure looks a lot like
squeeze well, you know the rest.

Speaker 13 (19:34):
I'm seventy six and I'm supposed to be riding around
town with this.

Speaker 14 (19:37):
It may remind you of the license plate in this
episode of Seinfeld.

Speaker 12 (19:41):
I'm not the ass man. I think there's been a mistake.

Speaker 14 (19:44):
Her new plate has become the talk of the retirement
community where she lives in Pompano Beach.

Speaker 11 (19:49):
This is what I received from the dambat from my
new license plate.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
That's good for ten years. Oh my god, ten years
of this plate.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Good.

Speaker 14 (19:58):
The anchors on CNN, sure you got a kick out
of it spelling it out on the air.

Speaker 11 (20:02):
If you look at that, I'm just going to say
it out loud, to spell it out for the rest
of your squeeze.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Ass that's what it seems to say.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
There are investigating because this is my plate.

Speaker 6 (20:11):
Is not the only one that's leaving a suggestive message.

Speaker 14 (20:14):
So will she keep it? I kind of think you
should just roll with it. I think it's kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Yeah, she's getting again a lot of attention from the guys,
and the guys in the retirement village are few and
far between. I think there's twenty to twenty five women
for every one male. Because guys check out early, and
women they take care of themselves and they live forever.

Speaker 12 (20:39):
I think you have a point.

Speaker 13 (20:40):
But if Nancy changes her mind in Florida, you can
change your plate anytime by contacting the D and V.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
That's right. Yeah, you shouldn't be so upset about it.
You can just literally change it all right. Airbnb. A
family denied a refund for the Lake Tahoe Airbnb blocked
by a blizzard and they didn't get their dough back.
What's going on this?

Speaker 7 (21:04):
Smiley family couldn't wait to get away to Tahoe this
past February to show their two month old daughter Mattie,
her first snow but timing was tough as a strong
blizzard was coming through.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
We tried to time out such that we would not
get e snowed in for a week and a half.

Speaker 7 (21:19):
Proactively, Heva reached out to his host on Airbnb the
day before, alerting them to the blizzard conditions.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
They were like, yeah, we'll figure it out if it happens.

Speaker 7 (21:29):
Some it did happen. The storm hit right in the
middle of their trip.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Okay, then refunds Ahoy time for some refunds. Three d
House of refund Refunds did you ch did you hear
what two month old baby like she's gonna remember? I know?
But you know what, when you have kids, you're crazy,
you know. And it's it's more to take pictures of
them in the snow than it is to actually for

(21:53):
them to experience snow. But when you'll have kids, Richie,
and you'll do the same thing. You know, you'll freak
out because kids, by a billion trillion light years are
when you do have them. Now, I understand if you don't,
you go through life without them. I get that. But
when you do decide to have kids, when they're young,
like that, before they start talking back, before they're on

(22:15):
their phones, before they're friends, smoke weed and pinch your
sack and the whole thing. They're really cool to have around.
And as they get older they get a little more challenging.
And but when they're younger, you don't know what true
love is and true fear is in life until you
have your own children.

Speaker 7 (22:36):
Chp close the roads for multiple.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Days when I told them that the roads were closed
and we couldn't get up there, and they said, would
you like early check in?

Speaker 1 (22:45):
That's great? What an a hole? That's awesome. Hey, we
can't get there? Are you asking for early check in?

Speaker 2 (22:52):
I was like, Oh, that's not a good sign.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
And it could be very expensive. Those airbnbs are a
lot of money, some of them, and the clean fee
is usually astronomical. We reat that house up in Mount
Hood up in Oregon, and we only had it for
two nights, and I think it was uh and it
was like four or five hundred bucks a night. But
there was like nine of us. There was a couple families,
and the cleaning fee was four hundred dollars for two nights.

Speaker 7 (23:20):
Early check in does not help if you can't even
get there. And to make matters worse, the host couldn't
reschedule and denied a refund under a no cancelation policy.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Oh no, you gotta go. You gotta go splitz these
or has these with that guy. You can't sting him
for the whole for the whole vacation.

Speaker 15 (23:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
That's when we realized we're in trouble and this wasn't
a quick process. Nope, no, no, no.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
For four days, he kept calling Airbnb customer service. The
company claimed to reach out on his behalf to the host,
but the host didn't budge.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Sure Ivan be told us, Uh, you can't get a refund,
and I was like, okay, well, what.

Speaker 15 (23:55):
Do we do.

Speaker 7 (23:55):
Consumers in similar situations might be eligible for protections AB's
Major Disruptive Events policy.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
That's right, if you can't go because of a blizzard,
it's not your fault.

Speaker 7 (24:05):
The tech giant told seven on your Side. It's designed
to help support guests and hosts during large scale emergencies
affecting a listing's location, such as natural disasters or government
imposed travel restrictions.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Right, and once this guy who owns the house gets
a reputation that he's an a hole and doesn't work
well with anybody, then he's not gonna He's gonna lose
money on that end, probably ten times what he's losing
on this couple with this baby.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
It seems like a blizzard closing down all major roadways
right from an airbnb or to like the whole region.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
That's exactly right. If I own the house, I'd be, hey,
just take care of that kid, maybe come back next year,
you know, And then that guy would be like, oh,
the guy who owned the house is cool, and then
he would spread that word around. If you're in the
airbnb business, you need to spread that word around like, Eileen,
you're in the real estate game, right, Yes, I am.
Isn't it isn't like treating people properly a big part

(25:02):
of being in that game. You would think, maybe not
with this guy. For me, it is, Yeah, I think
it is. I think that. Look, the only thing you're
selling when you're out showing a home is you, you know,
because if people don't want to be with you, you know,
for more than an hour or so, and they can't
stand you, they're going to go on to use somebody else. Yeah,

(25:24):
And this is the same way when you own an airbnb.
You have to be a person that people want to
come back to and rent their place. It's customer service. Yeah,
it used to be standard. People used to have, you know,
such riders with that, and now everyone's so selfish and
everyone's pinching pennies.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
What is more majorly disruptive than that? Well confusing.

Speaker 7 (25:43):
The sleep deprived parents spent five months trying to dispute this.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
You should contact seven on your side.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
After seven on your Side got involved, refunded the Famili's
fourteen hundred dollars back to Heva within days, writing as
a one time courtesy, we issued the guests a full refund.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Excellent, all worked out.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Super happy. It's it's nice to not have fourteen hundred
dollars of your money lost for no good reason.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
That's exactly right. Seven on your side, we like to
get a lot of publicity.

Speaker 11 (26:10):
Here.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
They are helping people out when they run into a
brick wall. We're live on KF I am six forty.
Don't forget Angel Martinez. You can see what she looks
like at the Ocean Festival. Sorry it didn't come out right.
You can go check her out at the Ocean Festival
in San Clemente and see what she looks like.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
You know, what the hell you don't get an eye fall, Well.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
We just get an earful, you know. And now you're
going to get an eye fall on Saturday or Sunday.
All right, all right, Booth twenty seven. She's selling her
wares her What did belly will call your summer were.

Speaker 12 (26:52):
Leisure leisure?

Speaker 1 (26:54):
That's leisure leisure wear? Is San clement Ocean Festival? Where's
that again? What's the area?

Speaker 4 (27:03):
It's in the peer Bowler. Yeah, just take Telmar straight
down to the pier and there I am, And there's
the whole Ocean Festival, lots of fun.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Is that near my old stomping grounds case? Was it
Casa Romantic? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Pretty close with that.

Speaker 10 (27:22):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI AM.

Speaker 12 (27:26):
Six forty things.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
To do this weekend. You can watch the Los Angeles
Dodgers take on the Yankees. That's always a cool matchup.
It'll be in New York, but you can watch it
on TV. And then the Angels will be playing at
Anaheim Stadium. They'll be playing the Detroit Tigers. So if
you're from Detroit and you miss watching the Tigers live,

(27:51):
you can go watch them tomorrow at Yankee Stadium. I'm sorry,
Angels Stadium. See that's one of the fops I caught,
but I could have easily. I have caught that Angels Stadium.
That's tomorrow seven pm, Sunday one pm, and then at
noon on Sunday the soccer final, the World Cup Final,

(28:12):
Spain taking on Argentina. There's a huge watch party at Marongo.
You can go check that out. And there's other watch
parties around. There's some pretty big ones MacArthur Park, Chevy
at Hills Recreation Center. There's another one at Silmar Recreation Center,
Echo Park. Well, let's here, whist Fields, Sycamore Grove. They're

(28:38):
all over the place, but the big one in this
area is at the Autry Museum. It's free to get in,
no charge, big screens, lots of food trucks, and you know,
people screaming. So if that's what you're into, the Autry Museum,

(29:00):
right near the La Zoo is where you may want
to hang. And then the meteor shower tonight as well,
So there's a lot going on in La a hell
of a lot going on. You can go see that.

Speaker 15 (29:12):
That is.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
That's a cool deal tonight. I don't know. I think
it's after eleven o'clock all the way until tomorrow. But
it's going to continue for another couple weeks, so if
you miss it tonight, you'll be able to catch it.
They say early August will be the best viewing for this.
So there you go. All right, this is a cool story.

(29:34):
It's not a lot of heavy lifting. Oh by the way,
when they do have that water main all cleaned up
on Sunset and Holloway, we'll have information for you over
the next couple of days or next actually a couple
of weeks, but we have some wagers on when that
is going to open up. Steph Uche said late September.

(29:58):
Didn't give us a date, but we'll just time, you know,
write him down for late September. Angel said October second
is when Sunset will open again. I Richie said October fifteenth. Wow, yep,
it's quite a ways, buddy, Aileen said early September, and

(30:18):
I said next Thursday, one week from yesterday, six days
from now, that will be wiped out. Caltrans and DWP
they're gonna put their best cruise on it. They're gonna
be working twenty four hours a day, eight hour shifts,
three different shifts, and that will be done by Thursday
of next week.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
So well.

Speaker 4 (30:41):
Led WP says the Sunset Boulevard will reopen by the
end of the weekend.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
So oh really is that right?

Speaker 14 (30:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Yeah, once they get that, you know that that pipe
all patched up, they'll throw that dirt down there and
you know a little blacktop and it'll be a bob's
your uncle, it'll be over. I think it's gonna be
a pretty quickly. I thinks, yeah. I think Ritchie with
October fifteenth is gonna be a way off, way way off,

(31:09):
all right, the story behind We have time with this othering.
We do the story behind a dog's love for hot dogs.
You know, not heavy lifting, but something late on a Friday.
We can do this and knock this out right.

Speaker 11 (31:21):
The hell, poor guy, I really wanted to take a
big chomp out of another dog's hot dog during a
Miami Marlins bark at the park night.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Okay, this whe they bring all their dogs to the park.
I don't know if that's a great idea. There's enough
fighting in the in the audience, in the stands, with
the you know, the fans. I don't know if you
need to introduce dogs.

Speaker 11 (31:41):
This is the stare that millions if people saw when
he wanted a hot dog.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
He does it every day.

Speaker 11 (31:47):
His name is Jonah, and his mom, Amy says she
screamed on the couch when she saw so many people,
including the Marlins, trying to find Jonah on social media.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Wait, but I don't understand what's unusual. There's nothing unusual yet.
I mean, look, we're early on in this story. But
all dogs like hot dogs. It's that's what they eat,
you know, really sort of that's their their diet. And
so there's nothing interesting yet about this dog We really had.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
No idea this was going on.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
And I'm just like, what that your dog likes hot dogs?

Speaker 14 (32:19):
That looks like Jonah.

Speaker 11 (32:20):
Well, Jonah's cuteness garnering social media attention has actually been
a big theme in their family's journey with him. In
twenty twenty, Amy's husband Peter first saw these photos of
Jonah as a puppy on Facebook after he was found
in a cage with his brothers in Aruba. An organization
Peter volunteered with called the New Life for Pause Foundation,
rescued them and brought them to the States.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Okay, that's really cool. From Maruba in a cage to
being a celebrity dog, that's a big success story for
this dog.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
It wasn't his intention to adopt, It's just he fell
in love with Jonah.

Speaker 12 (32:52):
But wait, there's more. At that time, Peter and Amy have.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Has gotta be more. Right now, we just have a
dog that likes hot dogs.

Speaker 11 (32:58):
But wait, there's more. At that time and Amy had
not seen each other in fifteen years. They used to
be friends way back when. But one day Peter shared
a picture of Jonah on social media. Amy hearted that
photo and then he reached out.

Speaker 14 (33:11):
To me and was like, Hey, how are you doing?

Speaker 1 (33:12):
And then it kind of went off from there.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
So Jonah is not just a hot dog story, like
he's a big part of our love story.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Oh I see. Okay, So they reconnected through this dog
that likes hot dogs. They haven't seen each other in
fifteen years, and maybe they're in a relationship now about that.
This is the very good boy right here.

Speaker 11 (33:32):
But fast forward a few years to this past Sunday
where Jonah was the guest of honor at a Marlins game.
Peter threw out the first pitch. The family sat in
a sweet filled with hot dog shaped two toys and
a customed doghouse. Jonah, let's get you your hot dog, buddy,
And yes, Jonah finally got to live the dream and
just enjoy a hot dog at the ballpark.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
It became bigger than we thought it would.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Yeah, I need more than that. I don't know dog
that likes hot dogs? Who curious? All right, It's Convoy Show.
We're live on KFI AM six forty.
