Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KMF I am sixty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. What a
piece of audio. It's video as well, Savannah Guthrie with
I believe it's her sister and her brother, her.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Sister Annie and her brother Cameron, and it's posted on
Savannah Guthrie's Instagram account, Savannah Guthrie if you want to
see yeah video.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
She looks completely worn out. You know, she's been up
for twenty four hours, for four days. You know, she
was supposed to be in Italy right now doing the Olympics.
And you know, one of the highlights of her career
is being selected by NBC to fly over to Italy

(00:46):
and do the Olympics. And they pay those people well,
and they put them up at five star hotels, five
star meals, limousine security everywhere. There's celebrities over there, Bellio.
I mean, it's a big deal. And now she's in
Arizona talking to cops all day and FBI all day

(01:07):
looking for a mom. Horrible timing, with this horrible timing,
and I wonder if they find the mom, if they
find her tonight and she's alive and she's home. I
wonder if Savannah Guthrie just jets off to Italy and
finishes finishes the Olympics, or does she stay at home
with her mom?

Speaker 3 (01:26):
How about she stays home?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
She would stay home with her mom.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, that's that's rough audio to listen to. We played
it right before the six o'clock hour. It's posted on
Savannah's website.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, Savannah Guthrie uh at Savannah Guthrie on Instagram. But
we also have snippets of it on our socials at Conways,
at Conway's show.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And the audio is tough to listen to, but the
video is even harder to listen to because you.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
See how distraught there, Yeah, the.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Anguish and the pain and the and the and they
look so tired and and again they probably, you know,
Savannah Guthrie has probably had maybe an hour or an
hour and a half or two hours sleep at night
for you know, five days and having to you know,
all the little things you have to do. You know,
you got to remember to eat, you got remember to sleep,

(02:22):
you got remember to drink water, you got to remember
do all these things when you just your numb. And
so if anybody's listening, if you ever had the unfortunate
situation where somebody in your family is missing. You know
what this family's going through. It's really really rough. We'll
have updates as as they happen, but I can't remember

(02:45):
a bigger search that has ever gone on than this one.
This is really all hands on deck. Here's the latest
that we know in the case and the investigation and
the possible ransom note as well.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
We've gotten some new information. Unfortunately, it's not really new
information that can help us advance the case today or
help out people that are watching that want to assist
with this case. You just saw on Liz's reporters she
was walking there and the vegetation. We're looking at it now.
That's something that a number of people reached out to
me yesterday said, did they find any tire tracks? Was
there anything that they were able to see behind the house,
because so far, there's been no sightings of any suspicious

(03:26):
or unusual vehicles on any of the cameras from the
other houses on the street where Nancy Guthrie lives. And
unfortunately the sheriff says, well, no, as a matter of fact,
we have not seen any tire tracks surrounding this house.
So that was difficult. There are some technological challenges that
are occurring with the cameras that were at Nancy Guthrie's house,
so that's me okay.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
So there's no tire tracks around the house, so maybe
they walked quite a way. There are some people online
saying that's an area where other people are missing, and
that's also fairly close to an area in nineteen seventy
five where there was some laggers in Arizona and a

(04:05):
spaceship came down with a blue light, grabbed a lagger
with the light, took him away, and he was discovered
five days later sitting on the side of a road
about fifty miles away. And every single logger who was
there and witnessed it separately all told the exact same story,
and they all passed a lie detector test. So that

(04:30):
happened in nineteen seventy five, but still kind of wild.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
So that's making things more difficult as far as trying
to find any video that may have occurred in those
overnight hours when it's believed that she was taken from
that residence.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
As you know, there are reports circulating now of ransom
notes to news outlets about Nancy.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
What should we make of that right? So there were
two notes that were sent to news organizations yesterday. They
both referenced Nancy Guthrie. I have not reviewed those notes,
but based on what we're told, they have not yet
been substantiated by law enforcement. So they haven't definitively tied
those notes back to this case. It is something that's
going to be investigated by the Sheriff's office. Those notes
have also been related to the FBI, so they're in

(05:10):
the course of investigating those as well. They have some
expertise as far as trying to track down that information.
But sitting here this morning, there's nothing that leads me
to believe that at this moment of the investigation those
are actually connected to what actually happened here.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
Day we heard from the FBI agent who's in charge
of that particular area in Tucson, and he said that
they were specifically analyzing cell phone and tower data. What
can they glean from that tom What will they be
looking for?

Speaker 4 (05:37):
So it's called FBI CASTS, and the FBI sent in
even more of their agents that are familiar with this technology,
the Cellular Analysis Survey Team. Each cell phone tower puts
out a signal as we all know and what they're
going to do, and I'm explaining this the most basic
form is they're going to look at all the signals
that overlap Nancy Guthrie's house, and they're going to say
which cell phones were connected to that house. They'll look
at the neighbors and so if you were my neighbor,

(05:58):
Craig and Chanell, if you're my neighbor, you would say, okay, well,
we know that they're going to be there, and they
were at home at those hours because there's the overnight hours.
But we have a number that's connected to the cell
phone towers in this area, and you know what that
number is not usually there or why is that number
there now? And all those types of things are going
to look at. Certainly, as they get additional leads and
additional developments, they're hopeful that they'll be able to then

(06:21):
use that to maybe track any individuals that they're hoping
to find and obviously get to a great outcome. I
will say this, I have never covered a case in
my entire career where somebody didn't know something, didn't know
a family member didn't know a friend who was responsible
for this. Somebody always knows something and you know what,
you can not like us, You cannot like the government,

(06:42):
law enforcement, whatever it is in your life that you've
got an issue with. At the end of this case,
as an eighty four year old woman who wanted to
spend the rest of her days going to church, spending
time with her kids and grandkids, So now is the
time to make that call that is going to be
critical in this case. I've never seen a situation where
somebody didn't know something about who was responsible for the crime.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
And the family maintains that if there is someone out
there who, Nazar says, say something, no questions asked, drop Rock.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Absolutely, Yeah, that is It's crazy how few leads they have,
or at least you know how few they're telling us about.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
But that is.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
It is wild how a person like that just disappears
and is gone. And you know, with the cell phone,
with tracking people and triangulating, you know where these people
are with the cell phone. Cell companies always denied they
gave out that information because they didn't want customers. They

(07:41):
wanted their own customers to believe that their privacy was
priority number one priority. But when the FBI knocks on
your door and they ask for you know what cell
phones were in this area. I think that every cell
phone company secretly we'll have them come in, look through

(08:03):
records and then have them get out. But I think,
you know, back in the old days, this especially Apple
was famous for this with not sharing any information with anybody.
But now I think they all do and rightfully. So,
you know, if they can help it any way to
find this woman, I think that's, you know, a tremendous

(08:26):
service to society, and they should do it, and.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
I think they all do.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I think they do all right if we have any
more information coming out. Also, you got to see the video.
We have some clips up on our social media, but
you got to see the whole thing. Savannah Guthrie looks exhausted,
and obviously she is. You know, she's been up for
five days. I don't know if she was in Italy

(08:52):
when this happened, or she was in New York. I
don't know if she'd already gone to Italy. She probably
was already there and flew home on a private at
You know, those thirteen hours, fourteen hours worried about your
mom on the phone the whole time, and when you're
when you initially get into a search like that. I'm
sure most people are like, Oh, we'll find her. You know,

(09:13):
she's probably wandered off by the time this plane lands.
We'll find her. We'll get together, we'll go to you know,
have a big breakfast, everybody over and everything will be fine.
And then hour after hour, every minute must seem like
ten days when you're doing this. And then to have,
you know, to have to talk to all the people,
all the cops, all the FBI and tell them the

(09:33):
same story over and over and over. The pr people
that are involved, the network, people who are involved, the
President got himself got involved. This is a big, big
deal and a big search in Arizona. And we will
have any information that comes out on that. We will
have that for you extent. A lot of people are
interested in this story.

Speaker 7 (09:52):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Mayor Bath is in the news denying that she watered
down the after action report after the fire in the
Palisades and in Malibu, I should say just Palisades. She's
the mayor of LA which includes the Palisades but does
not include Malibu. Malibu is not part of the city

(10:22):
of Los Angeles. The Palisades is Alta.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Dina is not.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
So she's getting a lot of the anger from people
live in the Palisades. Rightfully so, rightfully so. I can't
imagine how pissed I would be if I lost my
beautiful home that's been in our family perhaps for generations,
because there was no water to put the fire out.

(10:50):
I would probably be in prison right now, probably have
done something stupid and ended up in prison. I would
have gone crazy. So let's listen to the mayor deny
that she watered down this report and we report you decide, Oh,

(11:12):
that's a good slogan. Bell, Yeah, let's use that. We
report you decide, that's our new slogan.

Speaker 8 (11:19):
Here we go.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
La Times is reporting that Mayor Karen Bass personally ordered.

Speaker 9 (11:22):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
This is Liz Nagy. She's the new reporter, fairly new
the last couple of months with ABC. And I think
she's great, belly owned. I think she's gonna have a
long career in Los Angeles. She's smart, I and she's
a great reporter. And I and I know local news
better than anybody on the show, maybe anybody listening right now,

(11:45):
including you, Mark Brown, I know more than you I
know more than you know than Fretz, Fritz and Fred and.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
All these guys. Pat Harvey way more than Pat.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
I know more than any of these local people.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Williams.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Oh can't hold a candle to how much I know
about local news. And I'm telling you that this woman,
Liz Naggi, has a huge future in Los Angeles. She'll
be here as long as she wants making great money.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
She's a good reporter.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
The LA Times is reporting that Mayor Karen Bass personally
ordered changes to the Fire Department's initial after action report
because they say she was worried that the changes in
that report could leave the city legally vulnerable. We couldn't
get to Mayor Karen Bass this afternoon to ask questions,
hours after The La Times reported that she ordered LAFD
fire officials to water down the department's after action report.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
What the hell is she doing watering down a report.
There's water for that, but there's not water to put
down the houses.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
To water down the department's after action report on the
Lachman fire in the Palisades. Instead of speaking on camera,
Bass's office fired off a statement saying, quote Mayor Bass
has been unequivocal for months. She review an early draft
of the report and only asked the LAFD to make
sure it was accurate on issues like weather and budget.
She and her staff made no changes to the drafts,

(13:09):
but the La Times report says according to two of the.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
La Times says differently. The La Time says there was
a lot of.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Changes, but the La Times report says, according to two
of their sources, Mayor Bass told then interim fire chief
Ronnie Villa Dueva she was worried it would leave the
city legally exposed for failures on things like lack of
staffing and asked that those admissions be quote removed or
softened before publicly publishing the after action review.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Okay, well, both can't be true. Either she didn't make
any changes, or she did. That it's black and white
ying or yang. You know, it has to be one
or the other.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
As seven on your Side has reported extensively, the LAFD
never pre deployed resources to the Palisades ahead of the fire. Initially,
the after action report said the pre deployment decisions did
not align with police. According to the La Times sources,
Mayor Bess held on to the initial draft until the
changes were made today. Bass' office denied the reporting, saying

(14:08):
the mayor has been clear about her concerns regarding pre
deployment and the lafd's response to the fire. There is
absolutely no reason why she would request those details to
be altered or erased when she herself has been critical
of the response to the fire. Mayor Bassi's statement went
on to call the LA Times reporting muck racking journalism
for their.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Oh, a fight between the Mayor of Los Angeles and
the LA Times.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
That is really rare.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
They are usually lockstep in everything they do, and now
the mayor is getting pissed and calling out the LA Times.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Mayor Bassi's statement went on to call the LA Times
reporting muck racking journalism.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
From rock racking journalism. Wow, it doesn't get lowered in.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
That reporting muck racking journalism for their part. We did
reach out to the LA Times for a counter res response,
and they simply told us we stand by our reporting
reporting lives tonight thinks Nikki maybe c seven Eye Witness
News and it's going to.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Be a battle. There's going to be a battle.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
I don't know if lawyers are going to get involved
or people are going to get involved, but I think
they're tired of Mayor Bass. She's had a lot on
her plate. I get that, but I think they're just
tired of the constant, you know, denials, and just the
weirdness that is running the city of La. I think

(15:30):
people have lost confidence. Look, I don't live in the
City of La so I have no say in who's
mayor or who's not. But I think the people are exhausted,
and I think they want another direction, even if it's
another Democrat or an independent or Republican, I don't know.
I think they just need new eyes, new ears, and
new energy in that office. There's too many negative connotations

(15:55):
that come along with mayor baths. But you're going to
decide whether she's back for four years. And if you
live in the City of La and you bring her back,
then you don't believe any of this other stuff. You
enjoy her, So maybe she'll come back. Hey, I did

(16:17):
a this is I probably shouldn't have done this. I
made a promo using this is this is old. But
we made a promo using a fake Gary and a
fake Shannon. We took some of their their audio and
then made a fake promo. This is not Gary and

(16:37):
it's not Shannon, but it sounds like them. I'm excited. Okay,
here it is. This is not Gary and not Shannon. Okay,
so this is AI version of those two. Hey, it's
Gary and Shannon, and I have to admit the Tim
Conway Junior Show is the gold standard. We're just the
warm up act.

Speaker 10 (16:58):
Absolutely Gary. If you think our show's good, wait till
you hear Tim's. He's the main event.

Speaker 1 (17:12):

it's that's not Gary and it's not Shannon. Doesn't it
sound exactly like them? Absolutely it does sounds exactly like him.
Absolutely Gary. If you think our show's good, wait till
you hear Tim's. He's the main event. So don't they
would have done this anyway, you know, because that's probably

(17:34):
how they think.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
But this is AI. Oh you want to hear it again?

Speaker 11 (17:38):
Okay, Hey, it's Gary and Shannon, and I have to
admit that's great.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Hey it's Gary.

Speaker 11 (17:43):
Hey, it's Gary and Shannon, and I have to admit
the Tim Conway Junior show is the gold standard. We're
just the warm up act.

Speaker 10 (17:50):
Thank you, absolutely, Gary. If you think our show's good,

You will know his name and probably her name as well.
Absolutely will know his name, and his daughter, who has
a hit podcast with her husband, is coming on next.
Right here on KFI AM six forty.

Speaker 7 (18:29):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Rick Caruso has an announcement and we're gonna play it
for you. We're getting the audio right now and confirming
it with Rick Russ's office, and if it's true, it's
gonna be a big statement coming out of the Rick
Caruso camp. But first, Mindy Rickles and Ed Maham they
have a hot podcast and you may know Mindy Rickles
father Don Rickles, and you may know ed Mann's name,

(18:59):
Dad's name, which I don't have, just forgotten. And they're
with us, Ed and Mindy.

Speaker 9 (19:03):
How are you.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Too, Mindy?

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I haven't seen you in years, Ed, I haven't seen
you in more than years now.

Speaker 8 (19:13):
I missed you terribly tim ed Man.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Before we get into Minni Rickles, who is a huge celebrity,
ed Man was a huge radio guy in Los Angeles.
What were you on Kiss for a long time?

Speaker 9 (19:27):
Yeah, Man, Kiss FM K big for what we've now
it's called my FM, okay, and yeah, yeah, and a
couple of other stations and yeah, the Kiss was sort
of the calling card.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
And you were there right after or during the Rick
dse days.

Speaker 9 (19:41):
Oh, I mean yeah, I mean Rick was there for
a long time. I was there in the mid eighties,
so five years in the mid Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Were you there when Big Ron O'Brien was there?

Speaker 9 (19:50):
I was. Yeah. Big Ron was like a mentor. He
was amazing. He was just incredible talent.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
It was my favorite station. I listened at station from
six a m. Until mid nine every day. I knew
the whole lineup, Freeman, I knew everybody there.

Speaker 9 (20:05):
Oh my god. They were great. I mean, to the
person they were fans. I was just so lucky to
be there. I was. I couldn't believe it. It was
just really ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Okay, now, can you hang up so I can talk
to Mendy.

Speaker 9 (20:17):
That's usually there you.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Go, Mandy Wrinkles. I haven't seen your long time. I
think the last time I saw you, I was before
you started your family.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
What I think, so.

Speaker 8 (20:32):
That was quite a while ago, Tim, My god, yeah,
how her oldest son is twenty seven?

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Now, I've got to be kidding me.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
If I if you asked me how you're old your
oldest son was, I would have said fourteen.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Twenty seven. Oh my god.

Speaker 8 (20:50):
No, Wow, that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
That really is crazy.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
I will say to you, and I will if you
are to give me a lie to Tector tests, you
can go ahead and do that. My dad never had
as much fun in his life then when he went
out to see your mom and dad and they went
to a local restaurant in Malibu with Bob Newhart, uh
and uh and and you know the whole gang that
they had there. My dad never looked forward to going

(21:17):
out of the house to do anything except that dinner.

Speaker 8 (21:21):
Oh, I'm sure. Yeah, they all had a great time. Together.
I mean, that was a perfect grouping because my dad
thought your dad was a riot and and Bob thought
your dad was Yeah, your dad was so great. He
was always so sweet to me.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Yeah, I am so sad that there wasn't video secretly
taken of all those meals now that.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
You know, Oh my gosh, we could have enjoyed that.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
So let's talk about the podcast where how what's on it?
What what is it all about?

Speaker 9 (21:57):
Well, it's it's sorts that would just be and Mindy
talking and we just make stuff up, but it's about
our life and then we always segue into a clip
of her dad. And this first season of shows, we
were lucky enough to get the rights to all the
Jimmy Kimmel stuff. You would think that we'd have rights to,
you know, Mindy's dad's voice, but it's owned by, you know,

(22:18):
the company that broadcasts the program, So we got it
from ABC. In this production company, we do a lot
of those. We have a lot of some of the
roast clips we have, and then some stuff that no
one's ever heard. I mean shows that Don did in
clubs from Minneapolis to Biloxi that are on tape and
no one's heard them since he actually performed with those. Yeah,

(22:38):
and some of the Sahara shows when he was in
the lounge back in the sixties and seventies.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
And where do people find it? Where do people find
the show?

Speaker 12 (22:48):
Pretty good?

Speaker 9 (22:48):
Everywhere? Right, Yeah, Apple and Spotify all that showeart the
iHeart app And.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
What's what's the title of the show? The name of
the show?

Speaker 8 (22:58):
Mindy ed and Don rick noticed tim my name comes
first before.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
And way before Don's game too.

Speaker 8 (23:07):
Yeah, I know, I keep my name alive. That party
wouldn't have loved. What are you doing in the front? Maybe?
Who are you?

Speaker 1 (23:13):
I got a great story. I don't think I ever
told you the story. But when I was first dated
my now wife but then girlfriend, we were in Las
Vegas and my dad called me. Were staying at Mandalay
Bay and my dad called and said, hey, Don's going
to be at the Stardust tonight. Do you and Jen
want to go? And I said, oh, yeah, you know,
one hundred percent please, we'd love to. And so I

(23:34):
said to my then girlfriend, I said, hey, tonight, we're
gonna go see Don Rickles And she said who And
I said Don Rickles And she said, I don't know.
She said, I don't know who that is. You know,
she's a little younger Dian. And so we go to
the Star Dust, we get dressed, we take a cab
down there, we have a couple of drinks. We're sitting
in the third row, beautiful seats right in the middle,
and Don comes out and everybody, you know, there's a big,

(23:57):
huge band orchestra. There's probably forty fifty sixty piece orchestra,
and there's one guy in the orchestra who's not white.
And he makes a comment about that guy. And my
wife stands up and goes, we got to get out
of here before everyone starts rioting.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
And I said, I said, no, no, that's his act.
And she goes, that's his act.

Speaker 12 (24:21):
Right right, and everybody, everybody in the audience, it didn't
matter black, white, Asian, Hispanic, Catholic, Jewish, everybody for two
hours laughed together.

Speaker 8 (24:35):
That's true. It was really a special thing that he could,
you know, bring everyone together in that way, because see always,
you know, they knew he was had a soft heart. Yep,
you know, he really was trying to bring them together.
He didn't mean it, and it was just you know,
he's like, I'm kidding. It's his joke, and that's that's

(24:57):
how it was.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
And I really like the tribute that Jimmy Kimmel did
for your dad and how he broke down. That seemed
like such a natural, great relationship they had.

Speaker 8 (25:10):
Yeah, it really was. I mean he connected with Jimmy
right away, and Jimmy loved my dad, and they also,
you know, my parents loved going out to dinner, so
you know, they would go out to dinner with Jimmy
and his wife and it was just they had a
lot of fun times together and Jimmy really loved having
him on the show.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Jimmy also told a great story. He was he just
come back from New York on a big long trip,
didn't sleep much, the plane was delayed, and then he
realized that that next Monday he had to do the show.
And then after the show, he had dinner with Don
Rickles and he was exhausted, and he said, the only
guy in the world you cannot say no to is
Don Rickles because he will flay you for the rest

(25:52):
of your life.

Speaker 8 (25:53):
Yes, exactly, That's that's very good. Oh yeah, that is
great fun. It's been great. We had John Stamos on
the podcast oh good, and then we're really excited this
this weeek. I guess dropping. On Monday we had Matt Friend,
who is such an amazing comic and he does, you know,

(26:15):
impersonations of everybody Trump and Jeff Goldbloom and yeah, he's amazing.

Speaker 9 (26:22):
We did the White House Correspondent to Dinner. I guess
it's one of all those people. Incredible. We got a
great he's a terrific interview. It's a really really funny
segment coming up.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Yeah, it is Mindy Ed and Don Reckless.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
That is great.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
Mindy I want to see you before you before you're
you know, you're a great great grandmother, you know, sometime
in the next fifty years.

Speaker 8 (26:43):
Yeah, Tim, we have to figure that out. Yeah, we do.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Excellent, all right, please, yeah, stop by any time you
guys are in Burbank two, come up to the studio
and we'll we'll talk more about Mindy Ed and Don Rickles.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Thanks for coming on there to.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
You, Thanks thanks for having us.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
All right, take care.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Mindy Ed and Don Rickles. That sounds like a great show.
I'm going to go and listen to it tonight.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
All right, we'llcome back.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Rick Caruso is in the news with a big announcement
and Bellio has confirmed that it's true.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
So we came back. We'll tell you what that announcement is.

Speaker 7 (27:18):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am six forty.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
We have interesting news coming out of Rick Caruso's camp.
Remember he ran for mayor of Los Angeles the last time,
didn't quite get over the finish line. But he has
some news here and Bellio, can we confirm this is
this something?

Speaker 2 (27:45):
And this is Matt Seedorf from Fox eleven caught up
with Rick Caruso, so this is his audio, so okay,
credit it goes to Matt Seedorf.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Okay, all right, so this is a legitimate news source
that is reporting this. Can we say that, well, yeah, yes, okay,
here we go.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
This is huge.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
Does this make you regret your decision of not running
for office?

Speaker 13 (28:15):
It makes me very concerned about the future of LA
I'll put it that way. So it's weighing heavily on me.

Speaker 6 (28:21):
Yes, that could be open to interpretation.

Speaker 13 (28:24):
I'll leave it to others to interpret, but it's weighing
heavily on me because I love this city.

Speaker 14 (28:28):
So just a point blank, are you reconsidering your decision.

Speaker 13 (28:32):
I'm certainly thinking about it. I still have to get
through the concerns I have of a campaign and the
family and whatnot. But we're gonna gather tonight. We're gonna
have a conversation and we're gonna talk about it.

Speaker 14 (28:44):
Was it this article today that really kind of made
you reconsider.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
He's referring to the article that came out with the
La Times saying that Mayor Baz may have edited the
after action report after the Palisades fire. Yeah, and he said, yes,
it was that article that could put him back into
contention to be mayor of the City of Los Angeles.

Speaker 13 (29:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, because he said it twice, he said yeah, and
then he said yeah again.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Yeah, which is your favorite? Yeah, Bellion, Yeah, yeah, the
second one.

Speaker 13 (29:22):
Yeah, Because incompetence is one thing, but it's very different
to mix incompetence. And now you've got somebody who is
actively lying to the people that she has sworn to serf.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Whoa he's calling Mayor Bass a liar.

Speaker 13 (29:39):
To mix incompetence and now you've got somebody who is
actively lying to the people that she has sworn to serf.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Wow, I'm going to play the whole thing for you
uninterrupted we uh we report you decide is our new
slogan around here.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
Does this make you regret your decision of not running
for office?

Speaker 13 (29:59):
It makes be very concerned about the future of LA
I'll put it that way. So it's weighing heavily on me.

Speaker 6 (30:05):
Yes, that could be open to interpretation.

Speaker 13 (30:08):
I'll leave it to others to interpret, but it's weighing
heavily on me because I love this city.

Speaker 14 (30:12):
So just a point blank, are you reconsidering your decision?

Speaker 13 (30:16):
I'm certainly thinking about it. I still have to get
through the concerns I have of a campaign and the
family and whatnot. But we're gonna gather tonight. We're gonna
have a conversation and we're gonna talk about it.

Speaker 14 (30:28):
Was it this article today that really kind of made
you reconsider?

Speaker 13 (30:32):
Yeah? Yeah, because incompetence is one thing, but it's very
different to mix incompetence. And now you've got somebody who
is actively lying to the people that she has sworn
to serve.

Speaker 8 (30:45):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
So Rick Caruso sounds like he's throwing his hat back
in And if that's true, that's gonna be big news
and he's going to get a lot of support in
the Palisades and a lot of support in law Los
Angeles because whatever he touches turns to gold. The Commons,
the Americana, the Grove, they all. It feels like you're

(31:10):
living in Disneyland.

Speaker 7 (31:12):
You know.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
The guy gets stuff done. Palisades another one. He gets
the stuff done. We can all be living like the
people live in the Americana in Glendale or the Grove
or the Commons. We can all live in a clean,
safe place. Let's just get Rick Caruso to do it. Look,

(31:34):
the guy's a billionaire and he's willing to work for
one hundred and twenty thousand dollars a year and bring
all of his knowledge and all of his excitement and
great ideas in the city of Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
This is a real test.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
If he runs and the city of La says no
to him, good luck, then you.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Deserve whatever you get, all right.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Lou Penrose is coming up next right here on a
six forty Conway show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
Now you can always hear us live on KFI AM
six forty four to seven pm Monday through Friday, and
