Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI Am sixty and you're listening to the Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Rain is coming in.
It's delayed a little bit. It was supposed to be
here today. It looks like Friday and Saturday are going
to be the big rain days. So if you live
in the Burnscar area, you got to listen to the
(00:21):
weather updates and weather emergency reports for they'll will appear
on this station. They'll will play them every time we
get them, and we'll warn you where it's coming, where
it's going, what hills are sliding. It'll all be here
on KFI. One beautiful station. To follow back to backstorms
(00:42):
that are coming in, back to back storms. I saw,
you know, I'm sort of a news junkie. I watched
TV news all day long and I saw and heard
three different stations say back to back, two back to
back storms coming in, and I thought, nobody really corrects that.
It's kind of doubled up there, because in order to
(01:05):
have back to backstorms, it can only be too back
to back. That's a back to back. That's like saying,
you know, it happened at four am this morning, Well
four am could only be in the morning or four
am in the morning. Now that shooting happened at four
to fifteen in the morning, four to fifteen am in
the morning. I don't know why the bothers me. Okay,
(01:26):
here's a great James Worthy story for you, Jay. There
was a there's a charity that they do next door
on five seventy AM called the Paralyzed Veterans of America
the PVA, and they raised a lot of money for
Paralyzed Veterans of America. And they do at old school
(01:47):
where there's a phone bank, and celebrities and athletes come
in and they manned the phones and you get to
talk to you know, Magic Johnson or James Worthy, or
you know your favorite Laker or King. I think Coopaitar
came in one year and they raise a lot of money.
So I heard that James Worthy was in the building
(02:09):
literally next door, and so I walk over and he's
standing by himself. There's nobody with him. He was going
to go in and be a part of the Petros
and money show. And I said, excuse me, mister Worthy.
He's my favorite athlete of all time. This guy handled
himself great during his college career. His NBA career and
just a really he gave me a lot of great
(02:32):
nights this guy, And I said, I really want to
meet you. I'm a huge fan of yours and I
have been for a long time. And I can't tell
you how many nights during the Championships I was screaming
and yelling and all crazy. He goes, Hey, what are
you good to? He goes, are you on this sports station?
I said on next Door the Conway Show. He goes, oh,
(02:54):
I goes, I know who you are. He goes, he goess,
your dad. Tim Conway said yeah, and he put his
head down and he said, I got to tell you something.
He said, I've earned more money than I could ever
spend from the NBA. I got a championship in college.
I think he won it with Michael Jordan. I think
Michael Jordan was on the same team in nineteen eighty
(03:16):
one or eighty two with the tar Heels. He also
won three NBA champion He said, I won three NBA
championships with the Lakers. He won an eighty five, eighty seven,
eighty eight, seven time All Star number one pick coming
out of college, number one. And then he said, and
I get goosebumps when I hear this, even when I
(03:38):
repeated he said, I would give all of it away,
every dime, every award, every ring, every championship. I would
give it all the way if I could spend ten
more minutes on the couch with my grandmother watching the
Carobrin heead show that what kind of impact that that
(04:03):
show had on him when he was a youngster, and
he would give it all away for ten more minutes
with his grandmother on a couch watching the Carabernet Show.
It's incredible. I mean, you know, this guy has had
it all and he was one of his greatest memories
in the world is you know, those hot summer nights
(04:25):
in North Carolina sitting on the couch with his grandmother
watching TV.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
I think that's the power of you know, that show
and your dad. There's so many families were able to
watch it. You know, it didn't matter you're a kid
or you know grandmother that you gathered around to watch
that show. Because a lot of messages we get from
your listeners are about what your father meant to them,
like growing up.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
That's great and and it's it's sort of continuing the tradition.
I guess here on KFI, thank you very much. I
think somebody said that, maybe I'll say it. I don't know,
but it was TV watching had to be be done
as a family because there were no repeats. You know,
it didn't come on later, it didn't come on three
(05:07):
times a day. There's no VCR. You couldn't rent it
and watch it later. You couldn't tape it at home.
When we were kids growing up, that technology didn't exist,
and so the family would get together and watch TV together,
and it really is missed nowadays. You know, now your
(05:28):
son or daughter watches TV with you and they're on
their phone the whole time. They rarely look up at
the TV, and that's considered watching TV together with your
three kids. They're on their phone the whole time. And
you ask a guy, hey would you do last night?
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I watched TV with my kids? Oh is that great?
What did you watch?
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Well?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
I watch it. They were on their phone the whole time,
but we watched together, you know, and that's good enough
for now. But back then, especially when these you know,
this is the time of year when these shows came
on for kids. Charlie Brown Thanksgiving or Charlie Brown Christmas,
Charlie Brown, you know, Halloween, the Great Pumpkin, And for
(06:08):
some reason, I always remember they came on Tuesday at
eight o'clock. Maybe it's just me, I don't know, but
you turn on CBS Tuesday at eight o'clock and you
would see Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, followed by usually
the Grinch, and it was just, you know, the whole
family got together and watch it together, and you got
you know, you had to take a shower or a
(06:30):
bath early and put on your pajamas to get down
and watch TV at eight o'clock, and it was great.
And the older people listening right now, you know what
I'm talking about about all getting together and watching the
TV together. You know it, you know, and you missed
that too. Maybe you didn't have that with your kids.
Because these shows now you can rent them and play
them anytime. There's no importance to it. All right, We're
(06:52):
going to be in Your Belinda. We're coming to Orange
County and Your Belinda Friday, a week from tomorrow, a
week from tomorrow, four pm to eight pm, live broadcast,
Smart and final In Your Belinda. Two to one five
zero zero, two to one five zero zero your Belinda
Boulevard and Bellio. Last night, I was cleaning out boxes
(07:14):
in the garage and I found a KFI backpack, ding
Dong hats, a ding Dong car, another backpack, and I'm
going to auction all that stuff off and we're gonna
give every dime too well to me, Yeah, that sounds
going to shake. You're can auction it off to yourself.
We're gonna action you off. Then I'm gonna keep all
the money. I don't think that's how it works, all right,
(07:35):
Then I'll give it a charity. We're gonna give it
to Catarina's Club. Every dime is going to Katalina's Club,
every dime, So you got to be there for the auction.
We'll be auctioning off all day. I mean well from
four to eight pm while we're there, and so different
items go up at different times. And to the people
who donated those items, I hope you don't mind me
selling them. It's for a good cause. It's not going
(07:57):
to me. It's going to Katerinas and because it's smart
and final.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Man, don't think they ain't gonna be room for anybody
wants to come by.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
That's right. Swing bark. Yes, the more the merrier. We
have gift bags for the first two hundred and fifty
people that show up. Oh, what's in the gift bag? Belly?
Have we decided or have you discovered it's a supreme Okay, Hey,
I guess to you too, right, yeah, yeah, surprised everybody.
But we'll have giveaways, food samples and the first two
hundred and fifty people show up, raffles and gift cards.
(08:26):
Auction is now a part of it, and auction and Bellio.
Could you handle that? The auction? What do I have
to do? Oh? You just got to man handle it. Okay.
We got to chase going on on Channel four Alianna
Moreno is hot pursuit. We got chase number two and
it looks like, oh is this in the valley? This
(08:47):
is a Genesta Avenue, This is in I believe this
could be Ensino. I have to see where Jenessa goes here.
I know that Angel will be on top of it.
Here in a second Oak Park Avenue and Genessa. It's
in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. Channel two
has popped on Lake Balboa as well as the airship Lake.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
Balboa Daylight Savings night times already.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
And yeah, well what kind of car is that? Is
that a alexis or.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Thinking about the driver of any passengers inside that car.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
The cops are pissed from the earlier chase.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
We only know that this is coming back as a
stolen car. They actually followed it for quite a while
before they attempted to pull it over, and they waited.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
For the right now wild chase in the valley which
was approximate Sataqoy and Genesta, Lake Balboa. This driver over
that's out near Sherman Way and Balbo.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
That it's been a very dangerous traits since I can
see that looks his or her Win crossover suv wearing
a red baseball cap, but it can't you don't quite
see if he has a passenger.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
He's on Sataquoi Forbes, Sataquoi Balboa from what I can
Lake Balbo and this again, Channel four is on it,
Channel two is on it. Chris, Chris, he's on his
way on Channel seven. Saw I saw it flying and
that's a high impart. That's a really dependable car too.
That car could really handle on the road.
Speaker 6 (10:10):
Sat Core, you saw those units that you were just
mentioning that not right on his tail there, giving him
a little bit in the way of room.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
But we are getting Dana's airport. There's a lot of
dead ends.
Speaker 6 (10:22):
Here there, there's another way.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
There, a lot of dead ends coming up.
Speaker 6 (10:25):
Driving himself into airport, of course.
Speaker 7 (10:33):
Airport.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
But he is really a.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Flying He's gonna come out on Sherman Way here.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
Look airport, Yeah, going hour at times, it's going faster.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Than the plane.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
We can hear.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
This is an area.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
He's a van Eys airport, right, Elliott. Oh, there's a
dead end coming up here. He's not just on the
west side of the airport.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Commercial business like this.
Speaker 6 (10:54):
Drive himself into a dead he's not too familiar with.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
But he's he'll get out there. That's a good way
to get out.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
My chance to get a little bit closer of a
look on this. But perhaps some sort of toyota potentially, but.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Uh or Steph Fusch calls at toyota.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Smaller toyota.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
The male driver, Oh, no, males, take another hit, just
these males.
Speaker 9 (11:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
See, if he turned left there, that's a dead end.
I turned right. We can kind of see it behind
on the ground. With it, he still could run into
a dead end. Here again is the nave on on
that vehicles high speed chase you speak of Van Eyes
Airport heavily COMI that's where you hear if you hear
all these helicopters, that's what's happening right now over Van
Eyes Airport, everything Stag and Balboa. Oh, guy crossed the street.
Speaker 6 (11:44):
Almost bought it in a small residential area.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Now we've turned on busy streets.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
We're out.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
It looks like Sherman Way.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Okay, pursue go gos right under us.
Speaker 6 (11:54):
And I didn't see any units directly behind it, but
I could kind of see the glimmer there.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
He's moving the black and white. Second big chase of
the day a stolen car too, Channel two, Channel four,
Channel seven. Always right, we'll come back and this second
high speed chase in the same area. This is where
the first one ended, right in the same area. To
hotbed for these chases, I relyve on KFI AM six forty.
(12:19):
We'll continue with this chase.
Speaker 10 (12:21):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
All right, let's find out what Chris Christy is doing
live above this chase. Here your car that you're used
to driving. Maybe there's a little bit of a Corbyn
and kit Ridge San Fernando Valley Max hot bed for
stolen cars.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Not being familiar with it enough to know, I guess
how to operate it efficiently. Yeah, you have to take
that into consideration. You also have to wonder, all right.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
When we have chases, we always have fun. Our friend
Johnny Hansen come in from La County.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Mental Capacity of Sheriff's Department and he is with USPS
mic on here.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Johnny Shaky Hans Hansen, how are you, bob, dude?
Speaker 9 (13:03):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Yeah, Shaky's here, It's okay. So you are many many
years in law enforcement? How long are you with La County?
Thirty thirty five years? This is it comes back as
a stolen vehicle. Would La County chase this guy?
Speaker 9 (13:18):
We would generally chase him for about two minutes roughly.
Speaker 10 (13:22):
Is that in?
Speaker 9 (13:23):
Yeah? And then if the speeds went twenty miles above
the posted speed limit, the watch commander would usually call
it off.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Really, but doesn't that piss off the guys on the
street when they call it off?
Speaker 9 (13:32):
It does, But you know, usually at the end of
the day, do you want to go home. You want
to go home in one piece, and God forbid you
run into some family or some pedestrian. So we understand
it's frustrating.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
But at the end of the day, understand, all.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Right, let's let's go back to Chris Christy here and
find out what where this chase is going Orange line busways. Oh,
that's right, that's that's you story right where I live Fuller,
that's right, Tampa, Tampa. Yes, that's Tampa's.
Speaker 10 (14:02):
In Tarzana now.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
So basically he's going south. I live literally to blots
from where this guy is traversing. We've seen some northbound
or south found on some.
Speaker 9 (14:10):
Industrial areas near van Ey's Airport.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
I think he's going south.
Speaker 9 (14:13):
Found some residential areas that we.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
She's coming up on Ventura Freeway and Ventura Boulevard.
Speaker 11 (14:17):
You can see there's a great KF season using great kfs.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
It is pretty frightening.
Speaker 9 (14:23):
So if you are out and.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Staying that lady's gonna go on the one O one
oh clip that car mind it may clip that Tesla
drop it? Does?
Speaker 10 (14:31):
You are at risk?
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Oh boy? Really going on a problem with northbound? Is
that a turn onto the okay? I think it is. Yeah,
northbound northound one on one, the.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
One on one freeway now going about Yeah, was his
car smoking after that?
Speaker 2 (14:47):
You see that coming around through.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Some dust dirt. This guy's northbound now on the one
O one HP might get involved.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Now obviously there's never a great place, but the freeway
is the us possible for a guy like this I C.
HP can get into position. They may be able to
help create some traffic breaks here, but in rush hour traffic.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
That is to seeing two of these in one day,
this is on the freeway.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
Does what happened that we don't know about? Like on
average today, how many other cars might have been.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Stolen forty a days probably so, especially now in the valley.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Yeah, Woodland Hill's coming in Valley's an HP has been noticed.
Speaker 8 (15:25):
You're talking about not having any action in the valley.
You don't have any storts, you don't have any of this,
you don't.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Have any of that. But he got two chases in
one day, right, that's why we're chasing. That works, That's
why we have nothing to do. We've got to steal
cars all day in the place for it. But still
l a PD north found one oh one.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Pushes the pedal of the medal.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Every coming up onto Paying Gun.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
He's hugging that number two late we'll see Woodland Hills.
He's the traffic ahead of them here traffic is per
so the freeway.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
To Paying Gun. So he's going to Monty's Steak caount
with it. But I got that kind of money. Maybe
what's those going to ask you? What's the traffic look
like ahead of him? If you look a mile or
so or however distance ahead?
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Does it?
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Channel two five seven, we're watching channel seven one to
one north found.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
I would say it happens to be that the heaviest
trapped is so in the opposite direction. Either way it's
getting he is getting.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
The wrong move. There's a VP.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
At the Soto. But I could tell you that L
A p D has just terminated this pursuit.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
So at the moment they are putting a pause on
this one, not going to continue.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
If he turns right, he is going to HP laps.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Airship is so the pursuit has been terminated the helicopter.
We will see how the behavior behind the wheel changes here.
We hope that he just decelerates here and goes into
the night. If they're gonna let let it go, if
they made horrible this is chang continue, then let's just
(16:56):
hope that he right.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
There's AHP station right there.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Down here, because if not, we're crazy engauge. Whether CHP
wants to get involved at this point or not.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
We can turn the audio down there a little bit,
and Johnny Hansen's whether it's La County Sheriff's Department bomb squad.
When a chase is called off like this, it bums
the hell out of the guys on the street, but
doesn't encourage more chases. If if you get aggressive and
you are driving recklessly in fast that's the move.
Speaker 9 (17:25):
Then I think a lot of these guys realize, like
LAPD has a very restrictive pursuit policy. Sheriffs are pretty restrictive.
But you get into cities like Hermosa Beach, you know,
Huntington bea Witch, Beverly Hills, they're chasing you.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
To the wheels fall off Huntington Beach too.
Speaker 9 (17:41):
Oh. Eric Para Chief Para, former Linwood Sheriff's.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Deputy, He'll chase you right the f out of town.
Speaker 9 (17:46):
He'll get out of his house and chase you.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
But I think this encourages more guys to radically flee
the cops. If they're going to call off a chase.
I think you're right, it's a bad I don't know,
I don't know. You know, you know, there's two different
schools of thought. If you if you stop chasing the guy,
he'll calm down, maybe he won't kill anybody. That's good.
But if you do stop chasing him, that encourages kids
(18:10):
to steal. When they steal a car, go bonkers, and
then the cops won't chase you. It seems like the
exact opposite of what society should be.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
And Johnny, what do they call it when they still
are watching him from overhead but chasing?
Speaker 1 (18:22):
What do they call it when they're watching from overhead
but not chasing?
Speaker 9 (18:25):
Surveillance?
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Surveillance mode? All right, so they're in surveillance. But this
guy's pulling over though it looks like he's gonna he's
going down an alley here, and you know, he can
still hear the helicopters over him, so he probably thinks
he's still being chased, unless he's listening to KFI. Then
you know, the chases off.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
This is horrible, like in a.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Big Bucks warehouse parking lortial area. Yeah, he looks like
a park and go go Christmas shop.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
I've got home for the day.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Maybe he's waiting for Coast to flip.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Decides to dump the vehicle here and hide out.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Hey belly, can we mention when coast flips.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Park the car go into the night.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Certainly are a possibility here, oh.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Scenario if you ask me. But la b L A
PD really still uh nowhere to be seen here except
for the air be now jumping offence. Jumping offense. He's
on private property here.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Now the cops are getting involved where.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
He wants to go, but there's nobody chasing him. He's
basically all by himself.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
They're going to rat him out here. Oh my god,
he lost all his crows are stolen along with the
car or not. But now they'll chase him. He's got
a Mega hat on that's unusual and a very distinctive
red cap bag jeans.
Speaker 9 (19:34):
You can spot that guy from eight hundred feet in
the air.
Speaker 8 (19:36):
Pretty mark Brown's description. A very distinctive red house.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
Appears to be, as you said, a department complex or perhaps.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Either Angels or Mega. I would get angel pretty big complex.
And you know that's a problem. That's an expensive hotel.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
But I tell you that LAPD's airship has now pulled
off as well.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
So LAPD and telecopters.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
But right now we're the only ones that could see
it because LAPD has pulled off of this completely now.
And it's surprising to me why I have him then,
And I think you'd agree, Mark, to see him on
private property like this from jumping the fence and then
heading into this, whether it's a hotel or an apartment complex,
I think sure. Yet, keep pushing on that sign really quick.
It looks like it might be. Keep pushing on that sign,
(20:22):
Robbie on the roof of the building, US got apartment
complex at any event?
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Oh, there it is.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Yeah, this is the Essence apartment building in Woodland Hills,
a luxury apartment building that he is now invaded. So
he's probably in that parking garage at this point. But
no sign of law enforcement anywhere either on the ground.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
And these people in those units are probably watching this
chase pulled into that right we're live on it is
the Conway Show. Thank you Johnny Hanson for coming by
LA County retired deputy how many years with l County.
Speaker 9 (21:00):
Thirty five retired as a sergeant.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Good for you hands, Yes, great, dude.
Speaker 10 (21:06):
All right, we're live on kay if I'm you're listening
to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Lap called Off the Dogs and that guy is in
some apartment building now in Woodland Hills and it's over there.
You go, quick sports update. I know there's a lot
of people who listen to the show who are Kings
fans and also Ducks fans, and I'm toying with becoming
a Ducks fan. I'm toying with it. But if I
(21:39):
think you should go for it, I might. I might.
But right now, the Ducks are tied up in Detroit
to two, and the Kings were tied up two to two,
and Toronto just scored. So it's three to two Toronto
in Toronto, and they you know, Toronto is up to
nothing and who is his scoring? And no, Detroit just scored.
(22:01):
All right, So Detroit, Detroit and the so Anaheim and
the Kings are playing within a couple hundred miles of
each other. I'd say maybe two or three hundred miles
of each other. Anaheim's in Detroit and then the King's
a little further north in Toronto. But Toronto was up
to nothing, and to nothing in the NHL is a
pretty big deal. And then the King scored, and then
(22:23):
they scored again, And people in Toronto have got to
be pulling their effing hair out with LA coming in
and beating them. The Dodgers came in and beat them
in game six and Game seven. I didn't do that
on purpose. That wasn't the six to seven thing. I
don't know what that is. And that's a kids thing
and no one's been able to explain it to me.
(22:43):
That's not what I was doing. But and so LA scored,
the King scored two quick goals and it was tied
to to and Toronto came back and scored. But Toronto
has got to be pulling their hair out with LA
teams coming there and wiping them out. The Toronto maple
Leaves hold the record for the most game sevens ever
(23:08):
lost in the NHL. They've lost seven straight game sevens
in the NHL over the course of I think twenty
five or thirty years. Every time they go to a
game seven, usually Boston, and beats them for the last
they've lost seven in a row, Seven game sevens in
a row, it's incredible. It's really bad luck. All right,
(23:32):
the chase is over in Woodland Hills. We follow that.
The rain is coming in. The rain is coming in.
Friday is going to be heavy, Saturday is going to
be heavy, and we're following all of it for you. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,
and now they're calling for another storm coming in possibly
Thursday of next week. If you go to the mountains
(23:53):
snow Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of next week,
it's going to be knowing it's gonna be raining. We're
gonna get a lot of weather over the next week.
Today's Thursday. Between now and next Thursday, we're going to
have weather every single day. It's great unless you live
in a burn scar area. I get that it sucks.
(24:15):
But for people that don't live in those areas, we
need the rain. We need the weather, we need the moisture,
and thank god, we're getting it. And if we get
if we're gonna get a lot of rain, we're gonna
get a week's worth before Thanksgiving and your roof leaks.
You've got to call my buddy Levi at roof Buddy
eight sixty six ninety five buddy, or go to roof
(24:36):
buddy dot com and get your roof fixed. Don't let
your house fall apart. You know, you got to keep it,
keep it solid, and keep it so it doesn't smell
like a barn inside every time it rains. Roofbuddy dot
com or live on KFI Am six forty.
Speaker 10 (24:50):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I Am six forty.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Every single year. We have a beautiful tree that's decorated
by al Dick Home and they are here, yes, yes, yes, yes,
and they're going to decorate this tree. We'll put the
picture up on the internet and you can see that.
And that means we are in officially into Christmas season,
(25:21):
you know. So it's time to start buying gifts. Time
to start thinking about the loved ones and people you love,
people you like, people you work with, and time to
start buying gifts. BELLYO, you're out of the gift giving
game though, right you made that announcement. You're not into
the gift giving any Oh no, she's isn't about theom okay,
but she's out of the gift giving game, she said,
(25:43):
you know she had some kind of panic attack, and
she's turning bitter.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
She did she walked around today. He goes, I'm done
with this birthday thing.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, she goes, I'm not doing any more birthdays. I'm like, wow,
what a horrible thing to tell everybody. I'm done with everybody.
I'm not doing gifts, I'm not doing cards. And then
today's she give me a card that's signed for somebody.
So I think she just says that, all right, Costco.
Everybody loves Costco. I might go there to night. It's
(26:12):
a big deal. You feel special, you've got membership. You know,
you're it's part of a tradition around Christmas. You go
see what they got for Christmas, maybe buy gifts there
for your kids or your loved ones, and you buy
cheap gas there. Well. Costco has always only had gas
stations at their Costco stores, and whether it's a you know,
(26:33):
large store or one of the newer, bigger stores, it's
always been on the property. But now they've got their
very first standalone Costco gas station in Mission Viejo, and
this might take off the first of its kind of
Costco gas station is.
Speaker 11 (26:49):
Coming to southern California. The membership only retailer is planning
to open its first standalone gas station in the spring
of twenty twenty six in Mission Vieho on Alpa Seo
Street mission via Hosting.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Where is that angel? You're familiar with that mission via home?
Speaker 8 (27:04):
Yeah, it runs parallel to the five Freeway right off
of OsO Parkway if you if you're familiar with that area,
it's on the west side of the freeway and just
north of OsO.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
But isn't there a Costco right there?
Speaker 8 (27:19):
There was a Costco down the freeway, another exit at Ground.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Valley, oh, Crond Valley right, yeah.
Speaker 8 (27:24):
Yeah, And there's also another one off of Pacific Park
at Heather Ridge. So there's a couple really close by.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
My father in law, my wife's dad. Thanks for putting
that together. I used to live in an apartment building
next to the Costco. So he literally could wake up,
throw his pants on and walk about fifty feet and
get and be in the Costco and we'd go down
(27:51):
and stay with him. That was always a tree to
be able to walk right to, no parking hassles, none
of that. You walk right into Costco. That is a
great move. So the gas station stand alone in Mission
via Ho in Mission via ho in Mission via ho
on elpos Seotra Street.
Speaker 11 (28:08):
The Mission VA host station will be a forty pump facility,
Costco's largest to date. Construction is expected to begin in
the film with a planned opening next spring.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
All right, that is a cool deal, yes, Matt.
Speaker 8 (28:21):
And you know what you have to pass at Krispy
Kreme to get there?
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Oh that's great. My favorite.
Speaker 9 (28:27):
Although.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
I went to Krispy Kreme with my daughter of the
weekend and we got a dozen donuts and I didn't
look at the price. I just said, you know, a
dozen dons, so who cares what they cost? And then
I get to the window and the lady goes, twenty
two fifty, twenty two fifty for a dozen glazed donors
are like three cents worth of donuts there, And then
(28:48):
she said, hey, do you want it? You can buy
an extra dozen for four dollars. I go, okay, well, here,
keep the twenty two dollars dozen, give me that four
dollars box. I'll take that box. Yeah. But they try
to upsell you all the time there, you know, when
you when when you're ordering, they're like, oh, you want
to make it an even dozen? Like no, not really,
then they say your rewards member, Nah, you want an
(29:11):
upgrade for a dozen for another four dollars. It's literally
like it's more complicated to buy it. You know, donuts,
it is a home. They really upsell you. It irritates
the hell out of me. I can't stand that. But
all right, let's get into the Olympic air Taxi. La
Olympics are going to use air taxis, maybe the first
time ever with the Olympics.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
It's the big One of the top concerns getting anywhere
in southern California is traffic, a concern only made worse
when major events come into town. But one company's way
of changing the way fans travel will have been looking
to the sky roads.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Well, we don't need.
Speaker 7 (29:46):
Road It's not quite like riding in a Deloreate or
even like you're a part of the Jetsons. But the
future is closer than you think, and it's landing in
Southern California.
Speaker 11 (29:57):
It's amazingly powerful to start to think about, like what.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
The future can be and what this could unlock for
us in kind of our daily lives. Eric Lintel, when
will be the first high speed chase in the air
steals an aircar That's a good question.
Speaker 5 (30:10):
Are they like for issues like that, Will it just
be the choppers now that'll be kind of regulating those.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Issues, or will they send up other police flying cars
to get that guy down. That's a good question. And
you know we're going to be the home of that.
The first flying car pursuit will be in La Stolen, Yeah,
stolen flying car.
Speaker 7 (30:31):
Eric Lintel was the chief legal and strategy officer for
Archer Aviation. It just signed a one and twenty six
million dollars deal to take over the master release at
Hawthorne Municipal Airport, calling it the centerpiece if it's a
new urban air taxi network and it's headquarters for next
generation electric aircraft.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Okay, so they're going to have a taxi airport. Hawthorne's
going to turn into the taxi airport. And now maybe
after you know, thirty or forty years of trying to
you know, get this established, maybe they will and maybe
we can start alleviating the traffic on the roads and
the highways and the freeways with air taxis.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Oh, we were super excited when we came across.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Hawthorne has an opportunity and the timing couldn't be better. Yeah,
and you know Angel will be talking about it. You
know there's traffic over you know, downtown Los Angeles, be
doing traffic reports for the air cabs. Where's the air
traffic that's gonna happen as well. That's gonna be fun.
I can't wait. Yeah, dig Dog with you.
Speaker 7 (31:30):
Archer is now the official air taxi partner of both
the LA twenty eight Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA,
with plants to fly VIPs, fans and staff between key
venues like so FI and the Key Forum.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Oh, it's gonna be great. All right, that's gonna be
at the Olympics in twenty twenty eight. We are live
on KFI AM six forty Conway Show on demand on
the iHeartRadio app. Now you can always hear us live
on KFI AM six forty four to seven pm Monday
through Friday, and time on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
