RHUGT: Gizelle Bryant's Will Dispute

Legal team, we are continuing our series on Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th covering the legal issues of the participants in the show. On the docket this week is a housewife we’ve not covered before - Gizelle Bryant from The Real Housewives of Potomac. Gizelle has been in litigation for years following the death of her father Curtis Graves, who was a prominent figure in civil rights history. Alongside her siblings, Gizelle fought against her step-mother over her father’s will and estate. We discuss the importance of having your affairs in order for the sake of your loved ones, read out excerpts from Gizelle’s deposition testimony, and share the judge’s final verdict. This is an emotional episode, but one that is extremely relatable to not only us, but to anyone dealing with the passing of their parents.

What’s on the docket?

• Bravo’s write-up on Gizelle’s dad
• How important it is to have a will
• Highlights from Curtis Graves’ will
• Gizelle and her siblings’ objections
• Excerpts from Gizelle’s deposition
• Kaye’s (Curtis Graves’ wife) motion for summary judgment
• Property law and rules of wills
• The judge’s decision
• Cesie’s trial and the importance of visuals in court
• Trivia question about the origin of legal doublets
