Jane, the self-proclaimed groovy granny and second evictee from Big Brother 2025, sits down with TV Reload to spill on her wild week in the house. The backlash and why she doesn’t regret a single second of it.

In this episode, Jane reflects on narrowly dodging the first eviction, the emotional support from her sons and grandkids and the surreal experience of being mobbed for photos at Dreamworld. She opens up about Fartgate, Dishgate and Bedgate, why she called out the boys’ behaviour when no one else would and what really sparked her explosive feud with Bruce – including why she branded him the “biggest brown-noser” in the house.

Jane also sets the record straight on her much-talked-about comments about Donald Trump, explains what “groovy granny” really means to her and gives a brutally honest read on Bruce, Vinnie, Holly, Colin and who she thinks will actually win Big Brother 2025. Plus, she lifts the lid on what the housemates really see and hear during the live nominations and evictions.

If you loved yelling at the TV during Jane’s weeks in the house, you’re going to want to hear this unfiltered, funny and informative chat.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's in the news today, but it was actually on
TV Reload, the podcast last week Their Life Gaday. Guys,
welcome back to TV Reload, the podcast that gives you
all the behind the scenes access to the biggest shows
in Australian television, and today we are chatting with one
of the most unforgettable personalities to walk into the Big
Brother House this season. I'm talking about Jane, the self

(00:21):
proclaimed groovy granny whose honesty, humor and zero filter commentary
made her one of this year's biggest players in the
Big Brother game. Jane didn't just join Big Brother, she
lived it. She navigated Fartgate, Dishgate, Bedgate, and just about
every other gate in between, all the while calling out
the behavior that others were too scared to mention. And

(00:42):
whether you loved her or you yelled at your television
like sometimes I did when she scolded the boys, one
thing is certain. She stayed true to herself every single
day she was in the house. In today's episode, Jane
opens up about her rollercoaster first week inside the Big
Brother House, from barely escaping eviction to all so being
recognized today in dream World by fans who almost knocked

(01:03):
her over just to get a photo. We talk about
the house politics, the friendships, the missteps, the brown nosing,
and the explosive clash that she had with Bruce, plus
Jane's surprising take on Holly Colin and who she genuinely
believes is going to win Big Brother twenty twenty five.
She sets the record straight on her feelings towards Donald Trump,

(01:24):
explains what a groovy granny really meant to her, and
she tells us that she never regretted a moment in
the house and gives us a hilarious behind the scenes
look and what really happens during a live nomination and eviction.
This is Jane exactly how you saw her on the show. Candid, cheeky, emotional,
strong willed and full of heart. So guys, let's jump

(01:44):
into it, Sit back and relax as this is my
chat with Jane, the second EVICTI from Big Brother twenty
and twenty five.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Hi Jane, how are you?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I'm good, Jane? How are you feeling?

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I feel great? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Well. First off, it's great to have you back out
into the real world outside of the Big Brother House.
How are you feeling now that you've put all of
this kind of behind you.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I feel great. I feel great. I don't know whether
it's all behind me. I won't forget. It was just
an amazing experience and I'm very lucky that I got
to go in there and do it. I feel really good.
It's terrific. Loved it.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Have you had any surprises today, any phone calls from
the boys, your kids or the grandkids to say.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
My son last night and then he said the first
week because I was up for a viction as soon
as I stuck my head out of the grate, and
then he saw that I had more saves and Holly
and apparently he ran next door to my neighbor and
look at mom, look at maum. And as the show
went on, he at one stage wanted to get on
a plane and jump over the fence to save his mother.

(02:46):
But they are just you know, their friends from when
they played football in the juniors. Their mums were ringing
their sons insane, ring Cameron, you know and tell him
we'd loved his mum and tell us you know, stays
strong and whatever. So the family have all been really supportive.
I've got good feedback. I've been busy today, been to
dream World. It's been a great day and a great experience.

(03:07):
I don't really regret anything.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Have you had reactions from the public, like people coming
up to here and is there a common thing that
they're saying to you.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
At dream World? Is there are running up to me?
Or and I And two guys nearly knocked themselves out
when they thought it was me and I sitting on
a sitting on a bench. They were loving some little
kids that were really shy, and they were pointing, and
I turned around said, Hey, I'm Jane from Big Brother
and this is me. Would you like a photo?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yes, you know. It was really crue. Not everybody in
the park, you know, but some of them, a lot
of the little kids. It's cute. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Well, you did narrowly avoid eviction last week, with Michael
revealing on the podcast with Me that those votes were
very close. Did you think it was an impossible mission
to try and avoid an eviction because it was a
double last night.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Well, we didn't know it was a double. We didn't know,
but it just was what it was, you know, Like
after all the fart gate, this gate gate, now the gate,
I sort of had a feeling that, you know, the
young people don't want to hear anymore from me. Me,
it was a little bit excitable, and I just thought
they probably just wanted me to go. They don't really
know how long the show is going, and we didn't

(04:12):
know that either. When they called when it was time
to go, Jane I was I was like, oh, it's
me And then straight away I clicked into it's my
granddaughter's graduation from kindy on Friday, focus on the family,
move out, come out and it was so good, honestly,
and then Mia and I thought, wow, it's a double
you know. And you can hear them all in the
house because I was sort of just outside. I can

(04:32):
hear them all get wow, you know. So it was
a great It was a surprise, and it's always twists
and turns in Big Brother, and that's what makes the
show so interesting.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
What do you think cost you your time in the house, Like,
do you think there was something that you may have
done that you know, upset your housemates, that you know
then might have been seen from people watching the show.
What do you think it was?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I think my outspokenness about their behavior. Look, there's other
things that went on that you know, like especially at
my bed there were three boys in a row and
I was the next bed, okay, and I heard everything.
They're not whispering day talking and I'm like, what is
that about? You know? And then in the morning, you know,
the part with data data, and I kept commenting about it.

(05:15):
Then they must have all grouped together. God, listen to her.
Why can't we have fun now she's here, she's number thirteen.
We don't need her here, you know, we're having so
much fun till she came here. That type of thing.
I don't know what goes on, what they talk about
with Big Brother, and I just think whatever the public
saw out there that thought, oh, I'll let the boys
have fun, you know, just let them have fun. But

(05:35):
it stinks, and I do say what other people think.
I'm always been that person. I'll sit there and everyone's
listening or smelling, and it'll be Jane, it'll be me
that says it's inappropriate. You just cut it out. And
Bruce didn't like it at all. He didn't like me
saying he was disrespectful to women. Wow.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
No, he got his band the bonnet. And I want
to talk about Bruce in a second, but I want
to run this theory by you. So Big Brother has
not been a og big brother with live feeds and
things like that for quite a number of years. You
went into the house very popular. Australia voted you over
another person. You won that thirteenth place fairly and squarely.
But on the live feeds you very quickly talked about

(06:15):
your support of Donald Trump, and that changed the dynamics. Now,
you know. I just wonder whether or not bringing up
your support of Trump became your undoing.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I don't know if I brought it up in the house.
I think it might have been on my bio that
I was. I'm not a supporter. What I love about
him is his family, his wife, the children, the grandchildren,
how all respectful they are to each other, and they
all support him as being president again. And it's just
that I don't go around with the hat make You know, Mary,
it wasn't that at all. I think Australia got all

(06:46):
of that totally wrong. That is just if that was
on my bio.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Apparently I did talk about it on the live feeds,
so you did have a converse.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I say, do you recall, do you know what, I'm one.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Of the worst people. You know, how Holly can't retell?
You know? Holly struggles to retell things how they've happened.
I find that, you know, in society, it's so hard
when you're asked to clarify exactly what someone has said.
I don't want to, Jane. I don't want to put
words into your mouth and say this is what you
said verbatim. But but you very much did talk about
your support of Trump, and I thought that was a

(07:19):
bold move from your behalf, because he's a very divisive,
polarizing character.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah, but I know whatever he is. I didn't go
on there to win, go there to win. I went
on there to be a sixty seven year old woman
to show all other people in my age group, you know,
you're not dead yet, get out there. Bees Well, you know,
I didn't go on there to you know, oh look, hey,
I'm a political person.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
You know, Like, there's just no way you went in
there and said that you were a groovy grandma. But
you know, you know what I actually think about you, Jane.
This is a very strange thing to say. But in retrospect,
I wonder whether or not you felt like you ended
up being groovy in the house, because I felt like,
in some ways the housemates pushed you more into being
this outspoken conflict machine in some ways, and that was

(08:04):
because of the dynamics of the house. Did you wish
that you'd been a little bit more groovy in there?

Speaker 2 (08:11):
No. When I say groovy granny, I mean I get
up in the morning. You know, my hair's done, I
put on nice outfits. I'm very respectful the way I
dress for my age, and I want to look nice
all the time. That's the groovy grannie. When I go
pick up my grandkids from school or from kinder here
comes groovy Grannie. Okay, that's what I mean by groovy grannie.

(08:31):
It's like I'm not daggy. I've got friends at the RSL.
You know, Oh my god, Janie, you look beautiful. Where
did you get that? You know, why don't you try
it here? And I'll take my jacket off, take my
jumper off, he drives them on. You look fabulous. Come
to my house and have a look at some of
the stuff I bought. Blah blah. That's what a groovy
grannie is. A groovy grannie isn't going there and say hey,
I'm this political person. I mean, I'm a groovy grannie.

(08:54):
Where you know, I listened to all my my I've
had boys that age, you know, and you know my
now thirty seven and forty so, and I have their
mates over. They can you know. That's what I meant
by groovy Grannie and the political thing that's just way
out of control. I don't know where they're going with that.
I don't want to talk about that. I want to
talk about being groovy granny.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
What do your boys do? Because you talked about the
way in which you raise them, I'm assuming that they're priests.
I don't know what did they end up doing it?

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Oh? What do they do?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (09:22):
So I was a single parents for a long, long,
long time and then we had our ups and downs.
We went a long time without money, and so they
have those sort of values. Work hard. My parents passed away,
so they lost two grandparents from their dad's side. Then
they lost my mother, my husband, and then my dad.
So they have gone through a lot. Both of them

(09:44):
are in construction and they're just hard working and we're
sort of, you know, we call ourselves the cash up Bogans.
My brother's children, all of us are in the building trade.
Everyone's in the building trade. Get out, get your hands dirty.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
You know, but would your boys be friends with Colin
and Bruce? Do you reckon that?

Speaker 2 (10:01):
If you love Colin, I would love Colin. I would
think he was hilarious.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Bruce.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
They're lucky that my son didn't get on the planet
come up wright outside when he gets evicted.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Because he were to come for it.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
I lost it.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Yeah, it must have been hard though, Like you know,
I mean if you were my mother, i'd probably feel
the same. I mean, I can't take anyone on, so
I certainly wouldn't be you know, mustling up. But it's
interesting to hear about that's the response from your son
that you know he wants.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
My young young camus. My eldest one doesn't watch a
hell of a lot of television. It was the young
one ringing him, saying, this is what's happened. This is
what's happened. You know.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
But my wonder what Christmas is going to be like
at your place this year, because you'll get out the videos,
you'll get hilarious.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I hope there's lots of reals where I can get
some night of photographs, you know, print the map, put
them in a little photo book, and all the grandkids
get a photo book. Of Grandma when she was on television.
You know, they'll love that something to keep.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
On the outside. We've seen a lot of negative times
with Holly in the house, but you both got along
very well. Do you think that she as a possibility
of winning the show still or do you think that
her personality has cost her the potential of winning Big Brother?

Speaker 2 (11:07):
I do. I don't really know. I just in the
beginning of the first few days it's very hard. People
don't understand you in then all the personalities, everyone's talking
over the top of each other. Then she was made
his house mate. That was really hard for her, and
really people were just you know, to organize the party,
and for me, I sort of stepped back a little
bit and I would look at her and say, are

(11:29):
you okay? Someone would yell at her or whatever, and
we do have things in common. Towards the end, I
found out a little bit more about her. We're both
from ten pound pom migrants from England.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Her grandmother's name is Jane. Her and Colin, she was
just a little bit of mentoring him. They were really good,
but sof coming up in a kiss or whatever. Towards
the end, you know, she's been good for him and
I really respect her for that. And when they get out,
I don't think there'll be any sexual or anything. None
of my business. Though. She'll get on a plane and
should be out working, should be working her gut off.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
So you think that the relationship that she has could
we call it a show Matt? Do you think it's
a relationship just for being inside the show.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Man? Nah? Originally we all did with what is going
on there, and then as it went on, they both
have similar personalities, okay, and they could share things together
about how they react to things and then so that's
what they had in common. He really is on and
we had him and I had a big blow up
towards the end. They all had to say a word
about us as were before we left, and he called

(12:32):
me Glamsky, you know because it's bro skin and I
was Glamsky really nice. You know, he's just if he
does do fighting and whatever, I'll go, of course I
will it. I can get a ticket up there and
go and watch him do anything. Holly, I think we're
going to catch up at the Australian Open if we
can and just see what happens from there.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
It's just so interesting to see the dynamics that of unfold,
because I think in some ways it doesn't matter if
you're watching the live stream or watching every episode, you
don't necessarily know who these people are unless you've lived
with them. I mean, that's the way that I see it.
What do you think was your biggest issue with Bruce?
Because we that is where it's kind of left at
the moment. Is the real disconnect between the two of you.

(13:13):
I want to know from you. What do you think
was the biggest issue with making a connection with Bruce?

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Well, he was how can I say? He just had
this thing about him. In the beginning of the first week,
I thought, well, you're underneath the radar. You are the
biggest brown noser I've ever seen, you know, yeah, real
brown noser. And I said, what's going on here? And
then with the disrespect thing, and when I had to
go about you know, I said, disrespectful to women. And

(13:43):
I'm saying, okay, well women, I said, okay, they're me.
You know, I don't like you, and I don't like
you either. I don't like you, you know, And it
just got from there. But he just did not like me.
And I think he spends a lot of time. I
don't know, because I haven't seen anything. He spends a
lot of time with Mike, Okay, and Mike's man and
he's this and he's that. And Bruce thought Mike was

(14:03):
the king of the mountain. And whatever Mike said about
you know, grumpy Jane, he just took it. And you know,
like he it can't even make his own opinions. And
that's what we've medfort you know what Jesus mate, think
about things. Just think about things, make your own decisions.
And when he said something on Mike was right, and
I think you're good on your mini Mike, And that
was the last and I just walked off.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah, I do think that Michael had an impression on him.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Oh geez. Yeah. I just hope that Coco doesn't do
anything silly. She's bluting with a lot to keep it.
That'll git screwed up. Don't you worry when they start nominating?

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Well, I mean it's an interesting dynamic because not nominating
really does give us an opportunity to really work out
what people think. This year, you know, there's nominations live,
so we get to see what you really think. Yeah,
I want to know from you though, do you think
everyone is being honest? I get the impression with this
series everyone's just happy to have gotten onto the show.
We're not really seeing anyone, particularly playing the game very

(14:59):
hard to try and win it.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
What do you think I think Vinnie is playing the game,
Bruce is playing the game.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
I feel like Vinnie's sleep. I haven't seen Vinnie. I mean,
Vinnie is a very good looking guy, and you wouldn't
kick him out of bed for farting, even though you would,
But he's kind of what do we know about Vinnie?
Though we know so much about you, we know so
much about Bruce. I don't know whether Vinnie has really
struck a call with people.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
He is the hairdresser, the heir dressing salon open every
other day. They did their silly little podcasting the city
in the bathroom, he sat outside singing his own song
that he'd written. Everywhere the cameras went, and when there
was a conversation, all the cameras start turning, he'd go
and join in that conversation.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Wow, yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
You don't see all that stuff gone to night? What
did you see? He just joined that because he knew
all of the cameras were all pointing to that area.
You can see them. I didn't care what the cameras
will looking at me or not. I couldn't. All I
was worried about was getting changed from the shower into clothing.
You know, do you want to you know? But yeah,
he watches the cameras. He asks over and over and over,

(16:07):
are these not twenty four seven? Are these on twenty
four seven?

Speaker 1 (16:11):
God, he really is acting up to like that's really
surprising to me. I think a lot of people were
going to be surprised, Jane to hear you say that.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah, well, you know my farewell message. You know, I
hope the others all heard it. You know, it was
quite loud. Listen. You know, wow, that was a bit
for that was a bit brutal to viny. But listen
to what I said. Now take note and watch him
follow the cameras. You know, he was lucky that he
got to do all those things.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Well, who's going to get eliminated next?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Jane?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Who gets eliminated next?

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Jane? Olly? Not your Holly's gone?

Speaker 1 (16:41):
You reckon?

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Yeah, I think so, I reckon.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
They're going to super save her for sure. Who do
you think is going to win this game?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Oh? Dear, I love Connor to win. I would love it.
From what I'm saying on a few reels, I don't
think people are that impressed with him.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
But no, I think Australia likes him. He could win.
He's my I think he's going to It's going to
be him or Connor.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
I think, yeah, yeah, Connor or absolutely. The bread the
Brevenade are all the smart you know, Conger is so smart.
And the chats I've had with him, oh, they touched
my heart, you know, they so clever And I'd say, look, you,
Therette's hasn't even you haven't even dded tick today. You know, listen,
we know when you're focused on he could be a teacher.
And when he loves something, he.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Focused super focuses. Yeah, yeah, I can see that. You know.
I've run out of time saying I can't get I
want to ask you this one last thing though, people,
because people all day today. I went to lunch with
my brother and my phone kept blaring up and saying
if you have you interviewed, Jane, have you interviewed? They
want to know when the live evictions and live nominations
are happening. If you're inside the house, sitting there watching

(17:40):
that screen, and can you hear what's happening at those
stages outside? That's the behind the scenes question people wanted
me to.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Well, we hear people hearing. Yeah, everything's all locked up.
All the outside doors are locked. You're all locked in
a room and all the lights of didn't and you
can bare you can't hear anything anyone is saying. You
can hear chearing quiet, And then Big Brother will say, everyone,
please sit up straight. We'll be going live soon. Tall
the break run and then you run the loop, come back,

(18:05):
sit there, sit up straight. We wait, and then all
of a sudden, there he is, and then it's Starteda,
how are you feeling ad break? She comes back? Time
to go bang? Well, you know what's how quickly it goes? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (18:18):
I just want to say, Jane, you know, no matter
what anyone thought of you in this show, I can't
remember someone who gave Big Brother they're all as much
as you did. I got the impression from you that
you drank this experience and saved, you know, like a
snack for later, Like, yeah, thank you and well done
for being true to yourself and living with a whole

(18:39):
bunch of farting young men, and not just sitting back
but also telling them why I may be farting all
the time, it's not appropriate.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Yeah, well I think we're not winning. And I said
I would be true to myself and I would call
bad behavior out and that's what I did. I do
want people to say, oh, we voted Jane in or
she's boring you all. I went in and did what
I said I would do, and I sacked to it.
And thank you for those very kind words. I appreciate that.
That's very touching. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Enjoy the ride, enjoy chatting to the Australian media and
getting to know everyone and revel this experience before coming
back to Victoria.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Oh, thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
By much love to you. See here
