Speaker 1 (00:00):
Moisie. Big things are happening now. This is very exciting
for me. Now a w which is all elite wrestling.
They debuted here in Australia this year. They had to
take a deep breath. You're very excited. You're like a
kidding in the candy store. They had a massive Yes.
Good and we got to chat to a few wrestlers. Yes,

(00:22):
I think he's too calm. Now we're having the best
time because we get to chat to your brand. Brian
Daniels said, Nollo, Brian, how are you?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm doing great? How are you guys? Seems like you
guys are having fun.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Having fun. Trevor is a massive fan of you and
a massive fan of wrestling, so he's very very excited,
which is lovely and that must make you feel great
that a man child is excited to talk to you.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
So there's nothing I love more than man children who
love other men wrestling and spandex underwell, thank.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
You the most at all is a favorite thing.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Now, how long have you been in Australia.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
I got here on Thursday and I leave tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Wow, so busy mite, and you've already had it off
to go and make the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, yeah, I went to the Broncos practice today. Yeah,
and yeah, it was was really I've really fallen in
love with the Rugby League, isn't it. Yeah, it's it's
really fun. And then watching the guys practice and stuff today,
and you know, it was super cool because I didn't
realize this. There were a couple of guys training and
they were doing like legitimate Greco Roman wrestling techniques and

(01:29):
they were training it. Yeah right, and like uh, you know,
while the other guys were doing like some sprinting and
plays or whatever it is. And then here's guys like
training their wrestling so then they can tackle guys down.
I was fascinating by watching.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
So I mean it must be such an ego driven
sort of industry as well. Our CEO in our team
is where good nights, all of us are good friends.
What kind of what did you find with those twenty
five years? What was the was a lot of rivalry
between all of you or was it just kind of
you were working as a team.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
So I I found it to be more like a team, right,
and that you developed these close bonds like I you know,
I've most of my best friends now are professional wrestlers, right,
because you you developed this. One of the things that
you know is underappreciated within professional wrestling is that, you know,
we're independent contractors. So when in WWE, for example, I

(02:22):
was there for twelve years. Yeah, we do. I do
two hundred and twenty seven matches. I'm renting my own
rental car and driving myself from town to town. I'm
I'm getting I'm I'm buying my own hotel rooms. I'm
doing those sorts of things, and I'm doing it. So
like when we do these three hundred mile drives, which
would be I'm trying to calculate kilometers right now, you know,

(02:44):
So you're doing a four hundred and eighty kilometer drive
and you're writing with two of your buddies. Yeah, I
mean you get to know each other really well and
you become really close.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
It's a very long draw. What's the one song you
play to Kate? Yeah, you know, I pumped and ready
to go, you know, to get you through that draw?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
No, no, no, do you know that Proclaimers song?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
It was just a man who well miles and throwing
themselves out of the car.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Oh you should also you could hear. But I have
a great voice.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
No, we totally totally got that.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Definitely also listened to Sunshine on Leath. That's another great
proclaimer song. They have another they had one other had two.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Songs and two sons because there were two of them.
One wrote one, one wrote the other.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
So it's I Would Walk five hundred miles and Sunshine
on Leath. Okay, yeah, you're coming back again next year.
You've got the Grand Slam in Sydney and then the
House a w House Rules in Brisbane on Sunday, the
fifteenth of February, so you'll be back there for that.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yep. The first show is on Valentine's Day. If you,
if any of you, if any of you want proposed
to your significant other, I suggest a w is the
perfect place to do it. Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
There are so many couples who would think it would
be the most perfect romantic place in the world. I
hope both of them think that, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah. What I really want to happen is I want
for the man to think it's the most romantic thing
in the world, yes, and then the woman to be
completely horrified. Yeah. This is like an aw wrestler puts
another wrestler through a table. Yes, then the guy gets
up will you marry me?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
And then you come in and going yes yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, and then and then she starts doing the no.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Tickets through ticket take grab them for the Valentine Shi,
well the today after in Brisbane, the fifteenth of February,
and we will see you back here in the country.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Then thanks for you, Tom Brian, Yeah, thank you so much.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
