Speaker 1 (00:00):
It Stag four of Bike Week. Bike Week, Well, curda
bike weak. We want you to brag about your bike.
We want you to give us a call and tell
us how cool your bike was, or even how bad
it was if you got like a second hand bike. Mara,
you were talking off air about a mate who had
a bike.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yep, that was It was from the tip shop pretty
much because his parents wouldn't buy him a brand new bike.
And so we were talking about this yesterday and he
said we had the spoky dokies on the Instagram and
he said it must be nice. My parents wouldn't do that.
I just had a card and a peg and I
said all of my bikes were secondhand. Didn't even have
gears like they were just literally just wheels and.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Roughly held together with russ.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
He said he had to build it from tip parts
when you could take stuff from the tip. I had
a mon huffy across species mongoose huffy with bear trap
pedals that cheese growned my chins when I slipped.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Slipped off them. I remember those pedals. I remember those
pedals too. They were horrible, but especially riding with no
shoes on. Oh why did you do that? Because in
a hurry when I was leaving somewhere.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
It sounds like you're leaving your DNA just on the pedals.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
But we want to know.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Like I only had maybe one brand new bike, and
it was when I was twelve. I got a BMX
one three one. I think it was called one three
one because it wasn't a mongoose or a bumblebee or
anything like that, but it was a gun metal gray
and I called it smoke only to myself, because when
I said it out loud, I sounded like a loser.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Did you Did you get on it and go let's
ride smoke?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yeah, but not that loud. Okay, that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Just in your mind.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Smoke, Let's smoke on out of here. That's what he
used to say to myself. And then yep, right off
by myself or with my dog. But one year, to
give us a call and brag about your bike, Sarah
and Pac Pines, tell us about your bike.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
So it was my son's fight, but it was his
pride and joy, and it was a some kind of
mountain bike, which we we gifted it to him. But
turns out now it's no longer a friend of us
because it was hanging above the car our car and

(02:14):
which had been there for five years on the bike
rack and fell off at one o'clock in the morning on.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Top of the car.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
And it wasn't just a normal car. It was a
very special car.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Oh how did it fall?

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Oh? I don't know. The bike rack had been there
for five years on the wall, and I think it
just just loosened or I'm not really sure.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
And the bike, the bike, the Pride and Joy is
no longer the Pride and Joy.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
What kind of car did it land on?

Speaker 4 (02:42):
I landed on a HSD GDS.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
Oh god, special car.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I would burn that bike now. You just stabbed trying
to write in them a loop. Goodness, Oh god, I
would have thrown that book off a cliff.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I'm not drink Bike week Sarah, to hear for you
about your lost Glenn Mill.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Have you get a bike story for us?

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Oh? We used to have those wonderful nineteen seventies apehanger
handlebar bike's mind was mustard yellow with sparkly long seeds,
you know, the long seats you used to have. Yeah,
it was wonderful. So we drove that through the sprinkle
sprinkler until it faded to nothing. Yellow got really yellow.

(03:27):
But then I was I was given a wonderful new
this is nineteen eighty two, wonderful new ten speed Malvin Star.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Wow, Melvin Star. They're really they're really expensive.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
It was. It was very special and my family named
it Joanna Ah.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Do you want to ride?

Speaker 5 (03:45):
You?

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Do you want to ride?

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Do you want to go to the show?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Do you want to Dinky? Thank you, glad, thank you?

Speaker 6 (03:56):
Great memory for bike?

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Weake?

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yeah, Ryan us about your bike?

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Hello?

Speaker 6 (04:01):
Here you going good?

Speaker 3 (04:02):
What's going on?

Speaker 6 (04:04):
I went?

Speaker 5 (04:04):
I was ten years old.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
For about a year, I would go out and with
me mates, come home, out with a bike, come home
with no bike. Mom did that about five times, and
then she refused.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
To buy me a bike.

Speaker 6 (04:17):
Ever sees what were you doing with your bikes?

Speaker 5 (04:20):
I have no idea.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
I don't even remember it myself, but apparently I'd go
out with a bike and come home with no bike.
I did say, what's going on with the bike?

Speaker 5 (04:27):
And I don't know?

Speaker 6 (04:28):
And then I'd move on with my life until I
got a new one.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
You spot little turn, I would make you walk forever.
I would make you go and find that bike.

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Yeah, I'd never owned a bike. After that last night.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
I know why, because you just wasn't allowed to know.
I wouldn't loan you my car.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
I have a lot of car yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah yeah yeah good yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
