It was a great article I just read today about

when you were growing up. It wasn't like if you
went to a private school or if you had like
parents had a real fancy car. It was like little
things you associated with people being rich, like if they
had like brand clothing fancy.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, oh you're so fien. You got rib curl, oh yeah,
slapping hot yeah great, And it was great.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
See yeah, all the brands that are coming back now.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Roxy Quicksilver. I went to a private school, but we
certainly worked. Let's just say we weren't in the same
league same as many.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Of the people.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
So I actually did at one stage steal some money
from my mum's purse and go and buy a Quicksilver
shirt because I wanted to fit in with everyone at school.
It was like fifty bucks. But I didn't quite think
it all through because Mum was like, where's this.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Shirt come from? And I was like, I don't know.
She made me go and return it to the shop
and tell them what I did.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Oh, I know.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Did you get your money back and anything for her?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Or it was mum's money, it wasn't mine.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Did you get yours any?
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Pretty much?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yes. To see if someone had a VCR oh yes, yeah,
or a laser disc. It was like a really really
big DVD player. Like these laser discs came like a record.
They were probably a little bit bigger than a record,
and they come this massive player and you put it on.
That was called a laser disc. It was like the
flashest thing that came out.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
I think the theme parks were the flashiest when I
was growing up. Yeah, a kid had like their party
dream World'd be like to go to dream World.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
I came up here to visit my cousins once with
my name and then yeah, my uncle, the uncle Dexter,
he goes, so we'll take it to a water park.
What a what a water park? There's a park with
water in it? Like because our water park consisted of
the spinklers, it was sewage water. I remember when one
time I went to my friend's house in high school

and they had like a whole multi pack of brand
name chips.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
I was like, what is this. Oh wow, so you
can have whatever you want, like four or five of them.
I was just never experienced that the good oh my gosh,
like a PlayStation for something like oh my god.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, if they had a PlayStation, like carpet, like a carpet,
a roof.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Windows because the house is just yeah, we were in
a tent growing up, not even a Calvin.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
No, what is this a toilet? What is your toilet?
Shovel overt look a good one.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
David to Ravena. What was this sign that you had rich?
You were rich when you were a kid.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
My dad thought of Sigma Yeah, trump my dad by
buying a set your sports.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Oh yeah, they will flashback in the day of the selikas.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
They actually were. We won't mention how many years ago,
but yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, five, yeah, yeah, definitely many.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Things, you know, like a little kid rix bike to.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
So yeah yeh, or just riding a bike.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, like not a second hand bike. It's been handed
down from like all the neighbors.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Or you're just running next to him.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yeah, he's just should go for a ride down the road.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I'll just.
Speaker 3 (03:39):

when you were a kid?

Ice cream?
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Yeah, yeah, definitely, even a computer, like even having his
computer back in the mid nineties. Yeah, we typed our
projects out on typewriters, did.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
You Yeah, we did slash too.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Actually having a printer at home was huge, or a
computer at home.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
We had that big, big bit of cardboard and that's
how you had to do your project board.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Like a stone tablet, calling time with Moira and two
nine tomorrow
