Speaker 1 (00:10):
You're listening to a MoMA Mia podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Mamma Mia acknowledges the traditional owners of land and waters
that this podcast is recorded.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
On Makeup is my therapy in love. I'm obsessed and
I don't even feel guilty about it.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Hello, and welcome to you, Beauty, the Daily Podcast for
your Faith. This is in Her Bag. I am Sarah
Marie Fart.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
And I'm the mccaren gorgeous vixen over.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I I look like I'm on a Harley Davidson nerdy
to like. I don't know, I know, I don't know
why I had to do it so aggressively.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Yeah, this is in Her Bag where we talk about
what's in our makeup bag and what's in your makeup
bag and why.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
And we've got such a good episode for you today,
except it's a little bit annoying because it's all about
your vacations or just like going away, and neither of
us are I am.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Ah surprise, Oh my god, Okay, I.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Did not know that.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Okay, great Sarah Mauri gets to talk about what she's
actually going to pack.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
It's just in my mind.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
From when I've seen you last and now my husband
was just like I booked this we're going to go
with my brother in law.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Well, must be nice, mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
All right, So later on in the show, we're going
to talk about what Sarah Marie will be packing. But
first up, we're going to hear from our ubi's about
where they would like to be going this year, if
they might be going or it might just be in
their imagination.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Before that, I know your thoughts on laboo boos because
I saw your story. You were hating on a laboo.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yes, and you have some attached to your back and it's.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
With me today. Can you smell my labu boo?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
That's a weird thing to ask.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Smell my labuobu? Smell them both, and now smell me.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Will I smell you?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
When I hugged you, they smell like you did you
spray them with your perfume?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah? So you're packing your things? First up? Will you
be taking the laboo boos?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I might take one?
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Which one? Which is the favorite? It's this really cute,
Well that's debatable.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
It's a rainbow pink blue with evil face, barkley purple eyes.
I know their face is a little bit gremlinly, a
little bit like that. It's possessed I have a cabbage
patch dole like the og Ones from the eighties, and
Matt's like.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Do you throw anything out?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
I'm a collectible you really are. But I married also
a collectible person, so.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Luckily you're both also very tidy. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, I'm an organized collectible person, not a quarter collectible person. Yeah. So, like,
if I need to store something, it's in an air
seal tub, not in light. But I still have my
original cabbage patchol from when I was one years old.
It's like a thirty six year old cabbage patch dole.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Sell it. It could be worth a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Maybe, but no, it's too sentimental. Even if someone was like,
I'll give you five grand for it, I don't think
I would ever sell it. But about ten grand, No, yes,
you would fifty because Malick likes to play fifty. If
you give me one hundred grand for it, I would
do it. I would consider not that sentiment, although we're there,
one hundred grand all right.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Anyway, enough about the laboo boos, my lab let's hear
from our ubis.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I had to find the liner in my bag.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
What's in the bag?
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Before we get into it, we have asked the ubis
to share where they would love to be going and
what sort of look they'd be going for if they
were going on holidays, or maybe they are going on holidays.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
We're going to find out.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
So if I could go anywhere in the world right
now to escape winter in Australia, I would go to Europe.
Italy is my number one destination and I would eat
my weight in pasta every single day. I love Italy.
The look I would want to have every day on holiday.
To be honest, this is the look I want every
(04:02):
holiday I go on is like lots of sleep. I
look hydrated, I look glowy. I look fresh and tanned,
not a real tan, of course, I'd put tanning drops
in my moisturizer and I just look fresh and awake
and relaxed because I would be because I'd been Italy
and I would love my life.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Oh yeah, I also feel like we need like a
messy updo and a red lip in Italy. I disagree, really,
why because you're eating pasta.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I'm a brunette. So if I do a messy up do,
you I justa you just a gun hairs. I don't
want my hair up like either I want it down
or a sleek ponytail.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, I've got my glow on.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I don't mind a sleek ponytail or my hair like
I don't like want it messy. I want to feel
like a European princess. I love that. Oh my god,
Italy Malfy.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Coast never been.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Oh what, I'm very untraveled, are you really? I would
never have thought that very untraveled. Most of my travel
was meant to commence in twenty twenty. Luke and I
were taking a big funny you got.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
To just do.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Oh gross, No, I'm not taking a three year old
to Europe. Take the plane.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Wait till then I'm reaching in afoor business class.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
No, wait till they're like four. Yeah, if you want,
but I feel like a three year old's okay, But
if you need to wait till you're therefore.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, it's more for me that I don't I could
do a flight with a three year.
Speaker 6 (05:34):
Old, okay. So I leave for Paris in two weeks,
and I am so excited. Every time i've been there,
I've been so jealous of all the French people, and
then you know, makeup and clothes game. So I really
want to up at this time. So the look I'm
going for is like I'm going to wear like a
low key fragrance. I want some red lips, some radiant skin,
something like that.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Okay, yes, that's the place I've never been a girl.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
You've got it. You got Oh. When the time comes,
message me for our list we have like it'll probably
be outdated, buy them, but it'll still hold strong. I
love that. I feel like when you go to Paris
you can be glam.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
You can have to be you just put on like
a glowy primer. Yeah, a really glossy red limp.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
It's different. I feel like you can definitely, but Paris
you can also do a red lip. You can be
more dressed up. You can be like a bit more formal.
When you walk around Italy, I can vision they're all
dressed lovely. You never see them in like flip flops
and stuff. But you can have that like makeup less glow.
It's different.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Oh okay, well see, yeah, wouldn't know because I haven't
been to either.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
So this year for a year or summer, I'm going
to Belgium and I'm going to Tomorrowland the festival. So
I've had to be really savvy when it comes to
packing my essentials, but also things that make my festival
makeup look a bit more fun. So I've had to
use things in like different ways. So I'm using like blush,
fire shadow and just trying to stretch my products as
(07:02):
much as possible and then kind of accessorize with a
few little jewels to make it a bit more fun.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Right.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Well, I'm taking my headphone off and I'm leaving the
studio because at this stage I'm just pissed you haven't.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
I've never been to Belgium.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Never. I would love to go to Tomorrowland. I felt
pregnant to a Tomorrowland set.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Oh, like I put them on the.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
YouTube's and see you're well, it's impregnated.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
You're someone I thought would have gone to, like a Tomorrowland.
I've never done Tomorrowland. I'm not like a This is
just I'm not a festival person, but like I love like,
for example, if it's costume or dress up or something
like that, Tomorrowland I think is something where you can
wear next to no make you can bring you nothing
(07:49):
need sequence all right, and that's easy to bring.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
You don't need them though. That's the thing about Tomorrowland.
People do not dress up or they go all out,
which I love.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
You're going to Tomorrowland and you're not dressed up? What
are you doing with your well, some people Moryland without
going O T.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
T like that actually like into the music, whereas I'd
be going for the vibes and.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
I need but I would need both. I would never
do that without being like shiny and like it's like
you feel amazing. Yeah, literally shiny eye shadow concealer, something
on your lip and bring your sparkly things and.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
That's it, don't you camp?
Speaker 6 (08:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yeah, I think like you can have like tepe's and
stuff there, so like you can bring like what you
need for makeup is little more because it's also it's
so like glammed up where you're bringing you don't need
that much makeup.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
You don't actually need makeup the.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Scar if you want, yeah, your sparkles and truck them on.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Yeah, it looks like you put in heaps of effort.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
After the break. After the break, what are we packing
for Sarah's real holiday.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
And my imaginary holiday? So now we are going to
be talking about what we will be packing. Sarah Maurie
for her actual holiday, me for my imaginary holiday. So
let's take it in turns, shall we?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Or do you want to start? You've got an example.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
I've got a few of things that I would suggest.
I look the thing about packing for a holiday. If
you're going somewhere like Europe, you're not going for a
short period of time. You're not going for unless it's for.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Work, you're not. And if you really love something like
me personally, I do just tend to bring my makeup
with me. Right, there's a few differences that I make.
I might top up if my folk foundation's running lower,
I might top up on that. I usually get like
a darker shade to what I am. But this is
what I do, and this is what I will be
doing when I travel. I always put a fake town
(09:42):
on because like if you've got the town on your
face and on your body, it's kind of like you've
got makeup on. I get a fresh set of eyelash extensions,
and that's like my low maintenance. I don't feel like
I always have to wear makeup. So like let's say
I'm going to the airport, like in between, like I've
got that glove if I need to put a little
bit of cont.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Someone's stuck next to you formning in your tan on
the plane.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
I would never do that. Two washes in Oh okay,
that's my that's the key. So if you're going to
like do not like tan and then go on to
the plane at.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Least not a long hal flight, I feel like it
can you can put up with it on a short flight.
But do you know what I always suggest and what
I do when I go somewhere for more than like
if you're going to if you're probably going for at
least three weeks, Yeah, so what I would do, I
just wouldn't bother packing the big things like your shampoo, conditioner,
body wash, moisturizer, sunscreen, buy all that there, because you
(10:34):
can go to a pharmacy get a really cheap try
new things.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
You can also just buy like you can go to
the chemist.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Like, you're going to need bigger ones than travel size
if you're going for an extended period of time, which
is why you're going to have to take the big ones.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
You're right, if you're going for like three weeks or
four weeks.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, you're you're going to need a big sunscreen, a
big shampoo.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah, just by that stuff.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Just buy it all there.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
I would never like I only pack the stuff that
I don't like. I don't want to have to buy
over there, or things that I can't find.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Your face wash, for example, that kind of stuff my
face wash, I'll put in like the Little Trouble thing because.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
That'll last year though yeah no last year. Like but
like a body wash, don't pack your body wash. No,
find a cool one over there that you've never tried before.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
That's good, but to go, that is true. I am
thinking like European summer glow for example. Hydration is key
for me and the way I layer my products. So I,
for example, won't personally use like a glowy primer because
I've already got my skin care. Then I have my
SBF and all of that's quite hydrating and like creamy.
(11:37):
I will use a blurring primer. I am loving the
ESDA Lauter Double Wear primer or the smash Box Photo
Finish Photo Finish primer. I've got that on today because
sometimes you know through a bit dehydrated, maybe a bit
much sometimes, but both of them are blurring. And then
you put on your creamy can see alla or your
(11:58):
creamy foundation on top, and it like grips onto your
foundation but then you've got the glowy finish, like I've
got the blurring primer on now, but my foundation and
everything is quite glowy. So I kind of did my
bass as if I was going to this is like
a glam Europe a lot of makeup for Europe. I
went overboard with the eye shadow. Okay, I wouldn't use this.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
I wouldn't even wear this much makeup.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I wouldn't wear I wouldn't wear this show. This is
like my dinner minus the.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Nic dinner in Paris.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Like I would put bronzer on my lids,
like glowy, the highlighter on my eye lids, not this
eye shadow.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
I have got pretty glam. I've got like a plummy
purply lip, but.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
It matches your pants, I notice noticing.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
And on my lids. I just have like a light
timer and mascara.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Which I actually really love. I need to get the
details of that shimmer. It's actually really.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Pretty decay seeple eye shadow. Pan It's lovely. Thank you?
And you what have you got on? Full glam?
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Too much? Okay my makeup at the moment, I've got
my fake flashes on. I have like a creamy colored,
like lighter color on the inner part of my Then
I went in with like a brown that has a
little bit of a redder undertone on the It's beautiful.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
It's a very soft but strong smoky tips is to
find a palette that is all in one type, like
a palette that it's quite compact and you can do
a lot of different things with it.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
So this is the tart Here palette.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
And if you're listening along at home, we've got a
bunch of different eye shades so that you could do
something really light and pretty.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Or you could sort of build it up because it's got.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
A really nice mix of mats and shimmers in it.
And then we've got two different cream blush shades and
a cream contour slash bronzer shade.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
The colors are gorgeous. I love that because then even
the blush colors are versatile. You've got a cream contour,
and I think too cream products when you're like when
you overseas, you one that you're a.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Glow effortless as possible.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Powder is aggressive and like the reality of it is.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
However, powder lasts longer.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
It does last longer. I generally personally bring powder Bronza
with me because it's like, I don't know, I have
a favorite, and then that's it. Like I don't need
like a cream bronzer stick, but I'll bring like a
cream blush. The reality of it is when you go
to Europe and you're traveling during the day, it's not
really realistic that you go straight out for night. You
(14:38):
tend to like go back, get to your freshen up
and then go for dinner or do whatever you want
to do. You like want to change your outfeet. You
don't want to be sweaty, So what you're going to
do during the day, you don't have to worry about, like, oh,
what about for nighttime?
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Well, I also think with freshening up, that's why you
need your signature holiday fragrance. Yes, so both of us
are huge fans of having a signature fragrance for holidays.
So may I suggest a perfume oil for a euro
summer holiday.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
I have perfume oil. I love it. You're right, it's
actually great because that's really compact, and I feel like
the perfume oils the jars are a little bit more
sturdy than like a sample exactly. I usually get samples
with the fragrances that I buy anyway, I always save them.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Oh that's a really good tip.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
I always save them because when I travel or if
I'm going out at night or something, I always put
it in my bag. I will without fail.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Yeah, because then you can freshen up.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
So I've got the nest New York Santa Barbara Strawberry
perfume oil.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
I want you to smell that.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
That is such a pretty and fresh fragrance, perfect holidays.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
That is. Oh that's gorgeous.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
That is so I wanted something a little bit more tropical,
because that's quite fresh and fruity, the tropic narcotique natural
perfume buy or romantic you have.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
It's really good for travel.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Oh that's nice too. So one thing I always take
with me when I travel this is when I use
a sheet mask, hydrating face. Sheet mask for my face
and for my feet because after the plane I'll put
that on or if I'm walking a lot. Saves my
feet and I've got my hydration.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Okay, that you could tip. Love it. It's a widow
with your feet. I never would have thought of a
sheet mask for my foot.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Get yourself a tan bronze yourself up before you go.
You don't have to worry about like baking in the
sun sun safe need a concila. If you're not gonna
bring foundation with you and you want like conceila and
a bit of powder, that could be all you bring.
I won't do that. I always bring foundation with you.
But the average is me might just the average ye
might not want to. You might want an experiment with
foundation there. That's totally fine. I am one of those
(16:44):
people that will buy foundation there. But then also need
like my safety net, like I need my little basics,
you know, with me Bronza for the face, for the eyes.
You don't necessarily have to bring blush if you don't
want to, but I will, but just in case, if
you need at least bronza because that could be your
eye shadow.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
You could wear your lip color on your cheek as well.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, I don't bring skin tints, so I'll bring a
foundation like nas Light reflecting foundation, because you can use
it minimal, you can make it more coverage.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
I completely disagree with you on that one.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
You love a tint.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
I would pack something like the chee che super See
sea cream because you could wear that at nighttime. But
It also is light enough and you can cheer it
out with an oil to wear during the day.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Good plumping lip gloss my two faced lip injection Extreme.
It's mixed in with my lipstick. It's a little pinker.
Normally it's called bubblegum Yum. It's one of those ones
where it is quite strong. I spoke about angle tingle. Yeah,
I have spoken about this one before. It's the only
gloss I will be able to wear without my lipstick
and lipliner because it really makes it pink and plump.
(17:47):
This is one I haven't tried, but I want to try.
There's this illuminating setting spray by one size. It's called
the Powder Melt Glass setting spray.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Oh my goodness, that sounds so nice.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
And when they do the videos, like Matt Matte Makeup
and they do the video of the setting spray, everyone
this gorgeous natural glowy oh finish. But they've baked their
makeup like I'm talking about, like they have full glam
and get.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
A glow yep, get that glow.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Do you know what I do want to buy? This
is what I'm going to actually buy for my trip,
and I haven't. I mean, like I want to try
it on. But this is what I want to buy.
The Rare Beauty Mini blush and luminized trio. Have you
seen it? And I love that they're minis. Look look
at that. Uh you've got an illuminator. You've got two
different blushes in there.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
How cute is that?
Speaker 2 (18:42):
The size is that it?
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, aren't they gorgeous.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
The one last thing that I would you can either
packet or just buy it over there is a hair mask.
So just get a cheap hair mask so that you
can then use it to slick back your hair. If
you've got darker hair or you don't mind like that
wet look, because at the end of a day, when
you can't be bothered doing your hair, you just want
to like slick it back, put on a nice glow
(19:07):
and then a pretty pop of color on your lip,
and go out for dinner and that be that. If
you don't like the wet look with your hair, I
would recommend taking something kind of like a balm that's
going to flatten all of your flyways, So something like
the Justice Haircare Smooth and Groom. This is the small
(19:28):
travel size. It's gonna last you for ages though. Yeah,
I love it and just using that like pulling your
hair back and then using it to get rid of
all your flyaways.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
And yeah, something for flyways.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
After the break, we're going to have more of a
chat about things that will be adding to cart or
anything to do with trable size minis.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Shut mustache. Now we're talking minis. So when we were
organizing this podcast and we're talking about minis, I was like,
oh my god, great love a mini or you could
just walk through it Sephoura aisle, like when your check
out they've got minis. But like there's so many minis available.
Now look at these baby mini.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Got a baby little Natasha Donona palette that for traveling,
that is all you need.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
It's got all of the sort of earthy.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Colors in it with one shimmer that you just would
put on your lid.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
So beautiful.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
And then you can get the little benefit like you
know how with the tart palette you were saying that
you would rather powder m hm. So if someone would
rather powders, I've got like you can get the little
Mini Mini Powder Bronza and then the Mini Powder Blush
and a lot of brands you can buy the minis
if you are looking for space saving because you need
(20:42):
more room for either shopping over there or your clothes.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah, and depending on how long you're going for, you
can do like Minimuscara. They've got mini now polish.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Because it's quite expensive. But say you would put some
of your expensive seerum in this one because this is
like a little mini pump pack, or you would decant
some of your fragrance that is genus. It's a lot
smart because nothing's going to break. Everything is kept together.
It's just it's so handy, so have a look at them.
(21:12):
We hope that we've helped you pack yes, or get
excited about your holiday, or.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Make you want to plan one like me.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Mm hmmm, yes, well you Beiuz that's all the time
we have for today. I hope that we've inspired you
with your summer holiday, winter holiday packing.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Or maybe we've made you want to go book something
