history happened last night. I watched a little bit of

They were the New Knicks were down by twenty nine
points and that seems like, yeah, they're never going to
come in. No way to come back. Holy hell, they
come back one second left.

He tips it in and just perfect tip in and
all of New York goes absolutely bonkers. They win by
one point? What if? What a fairy tale story that,
I mean, you know, after the last lost with you
know everyone, you know, people want to blame what they
want to blame, you mean, for the last time, and
then now the President's not there and they win by

one point in the last second. I mean, it really
is sort of like this has been It seems like
a soap opera that has been written out beforehand. No,
that's not at all. That's what it seems like.

and everything. But Game four seemed to have more celebrity

I did watch the pre game with I do look
the pre great. I do. I do love watching shack
and and Charles Barkley get into it and Ernie and

that they had, they did they interviewed Ben Stiller, who
that was the best interview I've seen with Ben Stiller

mood and all the guys were kind of goofing with

him and stuff, and and that was a really good interview.
And then they interviewed John McEnroe, uh and New York guy. Yeah,
classic New York guy, and he was funny actually, like like,
so the pre game was great, and she can O'Neil
and Charles Barklay when they start arguing, I mean, it's
just I mean, you know, it's just funny. I mean,
it just really is funny. And you kind of think, oh, man,

maybe they really don't like each other, but no, they do.
It's just that they're just busting balls. But yeah, I
think and we'll talk about this a little bit later on. Yeah,
Charles Barkley, I think he wants to get fired, because
he does. He really does know.

He said he was on Dann Patrick and he straight
up told him it's like he's got six or seven years.
He went over it with his This is like, this
is the kind of people you need representing you win
in contracts or whatever. Because so his guy told his
attorney or you know, his agent basically tells him, yeah,
it doesn't matter what happens, whatever they fire you for,
they're gonna have to honor the contract and you're getting
paid for the next six seven years.

That's great. So he can he can act as foolish
as he wants to hope they hope they fire him.
But if he does something that is out of line though,
like way out of line, then the contract.

I don't Again, I'm just going off of what he
was talking about, and he basically said, he's like, I
talked to my agent, and it doesn't matter what they
fired me for, they have to honor my uh you know,
six or six or seven years. They might there might
be a morality clause in there, and he's probably not
taking that into consideration. I think he's probably just taught
thinking about what he says on the air, right, because
they were getting at him about.

The Cardi B. Joe. Yeah, he made a joke about
Cardi B and herds, yeah and what ERDs and uh
and he's like, I hope they fired me. It's pretty
it was. But anyway, but anyway, I watched the pre show,
so I was watching to see who's going to sing
the national anthem this time? But they must have the
same guy singing it all the time for good luck, right,

Like that guy must sing the national anthem in New
York all the time because it was the same guy
two times in a row. Yeah, I think he does. Yeah, yeah,
I think he's great. Great, that's great, great, you know,
a great national anthem. But uh yeah, man, they got started.
It's like, oh, okay, well Nick's going to lose this
down by twenty nine. I mean, I watch that seems
like it's almost impossible. If you've watched The Knicks though

throughout this season. One of the things that they've been
credited for there they're not adverse from coming from behind. Yeah,
like there was if you look go back and watch it. Uh,
there's no point there where in the last two minutes
where they seemed stressed out, even when they were getting
their butts handed to him in the first half, you know,
they they was you could see there was frustration, but
there wasn't uh pressing there in the last two minutes

three minutes because the Spurs are so young, you could
tell that there was a difference in and being ready
for that or are being ready for the moment? You know, Yeah, Hey,

watching this morning like he's known for like not getting

and he's like, you know, I'm excited, but we got
one more game to win. They've got one more game

was saying, oh, the West is so much better than

that you're let your citizens know and let concerted citizens
outside of the City of New York and Manhattan know

this way. That's horrible. They all mentioned it and denounced it.

the homeless people will get shopping cards and so they
don't get caught. They'll throw the shopping carts into the water,

a thing there. There there was another report yesterday be
like look, oh there's a shopping cart over by this
particular lake at this you know, and and uh, you
know some people don't want to jump in and get
the shopping cards. Uh, so they just leave them there
and they put reports on on Facebook. So that was
that was a thing. Uh. And then yes also yesterday
I did work out, and when worked out with Poppy

D I am feeling better about my workout situation. Remember
when I the first day I had to go, I
bitched about it and complaining and everything. Now I'm like, okay,
I'm kind of looking forward to it. You know, it's
going good, going better. So that I had that going on.
Then I went home, and I'm interested if you've seen
this yet, Angel, because it's right up your alley. Uh,
it's another thing you quest Love is now just doing
these documentaries and he hasn't.

Academy Awards for his documentaries. Is it Academy Awards or

so they're movies. Okay. So anyway, his newest one is
about earth Wind and Fire. Now, I will tell you
what I don't know. I didn't know a whole lot
about earth Wind and Fire. I know that every time
one of their songs came on, I liked him. I'm like,
I like that. It's pretty good. And I remember back

in the day they were considered one of the best bands.
You know and like live bands, Uh for you R
and B or whatever look funk. Yeah. And and guess
guess who was inspired by Earth Wind and Fire at
their concerts? Going God, I don't I don't know if
I can do this. Michael Jackson, Prince, the precursors, Steedee.

Wonder uh that these guys actually started all that kind
of stuff, and and these other were like man, I
don't know if we can do this many, but it's
it's the first part I didn't find as interesting. I
started to fall asleep a little bit. But then once
they got into the band in like nineteen seventy six,
where they were where they were really performing and stuff,
it was pretty interesting. And the music, I mean, I

had forgotten how many great songs earth Wind and Fire had,
but you know.

Dude, they're I mean, the cheat code with them is
if there's a couple of uh. And I'm not a
huge proponent of best of albums, but uh, there's a
couple of their best of albums that it's just it's
straight up the cheat code to earth Wind and Fire,
where it's just a banger after banger, up after banger.

Oh yeah, Mariyelle looked at you. Well, this weekend on
the boat, if we go out of the boat, which
you probably won't, but we got to listen to some
earth Wind and Fire because like, all those songs were
great and and a lot of them. Uh. But just
like every band, man, there was infighting. The lead guy
was you know, he was problematic. There's all kinds of
drama to go along with it. So if you are

just a little interested in that kind of music and
you don't know much about fire. It was interesting.

I've always had that or I have it on deck.
I didn't realize that I had already dropped. I thought
I was dropping actually this weekend. So yeah, it's an HBO.

Yeah, quest Love and you can hear Questlove interviewing the guys. Uh,
you know, everybody in the band that's still alive and
uh pretty interesting. But yeah, the lead the lead guy,
the guy that pretty much was earth Wind and Fire
White was was not well liked. Uh, and he was
you know, he was you know, he's a controlling guy

and all the stuff.

That dated a lot of that, and I'm sure it's
difficult when you have an ensemble like that. I think
that that's one of those bands were at the height.
They probably have like twelve fifteen guys in the band.

There was a bunch of guys in the band and
then one day he calls them in and he's like, hey, guys,
I think it's over done. I'm gonna go do my
own thing. And they're all fired. And the one guy's like, like,
I couldn't pay my credit card credit card bills because
that he was spending more money, like they would do
these big stage shows. Yeah, and he would, and they
had these big tours and then where they'd be done
with the they'd still owe a million dollars, like they

weren't making money, but he wanted it a certain way
and he was willing to spend more to make it
look like huge.

That's how Philip Bailey ends up becoming famous as uh uh,

But it's pretty interesting. I thought that they've come to

the summer concert series, there's still I mean there's still good,
good fun songs to listen to. Yeah, they're still performing.
You know who's in this is Barack and Michelle Obama
because that was like their favorite meeting when they were
kids and stuff, and that was pretty interesting. So if

know a lot about them, I found it interesting. And
it's by quest Love. It's a documentary, uh and it's
you know, earth Wind the Fire. But it was pretty good,
pretty good. Yeah, you like all the quest Love? How
many has he done now? I think about four that
I can call. I know he did the Summer what
was it, the Summer of Soul, right, which was the

concert that was programmed opposite of the moon Landing. Yeah,
and then there's the one that he did was about
Sly Size, and then this one. But I think there's
another one or two in there that I that I've missed. Yeah,

You know, I kind of related to what you know,
what I do here and uh, and you could see

the arguments amongst the band members, and they didn't he
didn't pay them all. They may he was twenty five
hundred dollars a week is all they made that whole
time that they were in that band. And he's spending millions,

And so they had to kind of fight their way
back and play all these small, small venues. And then
they finally fought back to playing stadiums again.

it just really is funny. And you kind of think, oh, man,

It's just that they're just busting balls. But yeah, I

Charles Barkley, I think he wants to get fired, because
he does. He really does know.

up told him it's like he's got six or seven years.
He went over it with his This is like, this
is the kind of people you need representing you win

they're gonna have to honor the contract and you're getting
paid for the next six seven years.

What I would agree with is this is that if
New York wants to take a handle this, then again,
because New York is the most most surveiled city and

that you're let your citizens know and let concerted citizens
outside of the City of New York and Manhattan know

that they're being police. So you can feel assured that
the New York is doing the best.

when they talked to John McEnroe, when they talked to
Ben Stiller, when they talked to you know, other people
from New York, all of them, one of the first
things they said was, Hey, don't do that. This is
not this is not New York Nick fans, we do

this way. That's horrible. They all mentioned it and denounced it.

And what else can they do? You know, there's look,
you got millions of people and guess what millions of people.

villain in this series and they continue to show us.

the discrepancy is.

kind of rain today and then it doesn't rain.

That's what's got different weather there because once the once
the golf breeze meets the Tampa mess cloud, it has

Right. Uh, But it was great to see so and
I hope it just keeps going and going because like
you say, the lakes are just so so low that
people are running into now they're running into you know,
the problem is with all the lakes there, there's a
whole big chain of lakes. I guess for whatever reason,
the homeless people will get shopping cards and so they
don't get caught. They'll throw the shopping carts into the water,

and then boats hit the shopping carts. That's a that's
a thing there. There there was another report yesterday be
like look, oh there's a shopping cart over by this
particular lake at this you know, and and uh, you
know some people don't want to jump in and get
the shopping cards. Uh, so they just leave them there
and they put reports on on Facebook. So that was
that was a thing. Uh. And then yes also yesterday
I did work out, and when worked out with Poppy

D I am feeling better about my workout situation. Remember
when I the first day I had to go, I
bitched about it and complaining and everything. Now I'm like, okay,
I'm kind of looking forward to it. You know, it's
going good, going better. So that I had that going on.
Then I went home, and I'm interested if you've seen
this yet, Angel, because it's right up your alley. Uh,
it's another thing you quest Love is now just doing
these documentaries and he hasn't.

Academy Awards for his documentaries. Is it Academy Awards or
is it Emmys? Probably Academy Award. They're they're their documentary
so they're movies. Okay. So anyway, his newest one is
about earth Wind and Fire. Now, I will tell you
what I don't know. I didn't know a whole lot
about earth Wind and Fire. I know that every time
one of their songs came on, I liked him. I'm like,
I like that. It's pretty good. And I remember back

in the day they were considered one of the best bands.
You know and like live bands, Uh for you R
and B or whatever look funk. Yeah. And and guess
guess who was inspired by Earth Wind and Fire at
their concerts? Going God, I don't I don't know if
I can do this. Michael Jackson, Prince, the precursors, Steedee.

Wonder uh that these guys actually started all that kind
of stuff, and and these other were like man, I
don't know if we can do this many, but it's
it's the first part I didn't find as interesting. I
started to fall asleep a little bit. But then once
they got into the band in like nineteen seventy six,
where they were where they were really performing and stuff,
it was pretty interesting. And the music, I mean, I
(20:16):
had forgotten how many great songs earth Wind and Fire had,
but you know.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Dude, they're I mean, the cheat code with them is
if there's a couple of uh. And I'm not a
huge proponent of best of albums, but uh, there's a
couple of their best of albums that it's just it's
straight up the cheat code to earth Wind and Fire,
where it's just a banger after banger, up after banger.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Oh yeah, Mariyelle looked at you. Well, this weekend on
the boat, if we go out of the boat, which
you probably won't, but we got to listen to some
earth Wind and Fire because like, all those songs were
great and and a lot of them. Uh. But just
like every band, man, there was infighting. The lead guy
was you know, he was problematic. There's all kinds of
drama to go along with it. So if you are

just a little interested in that kind of music and
you don't know much about fire. It was interesting.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
I've always had that or I have it on deck.
I didn't realize that I had already dropped. I thought
I was dropping actually this weekend. So yeah, it's an HBO.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Yeah, quest Love and you can hear Questlove interviewing the guys. Uh,
you know, everybody in the band that's still alive and
uh pretty interesting. But yeah, the lead the lead guy,
the guy that pretty much was earth Wind and Fire
White was was not well liked. Uh, and he was
you know, he was you know, he's a controlling guy
(21:33):
and all the stuff.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
That dated a lot of that, and I'm sure it's
difficult when you have an ensemble like that. I think
that that's one of those bands were at the height.
They probably have like twelve fifteen guys in the band.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
There was a bunch of guys in the band and
then one day he calls them in and he's like, hey, guys,
I think it's over done. I'm gonna go do my
own thing. And they're all fired. And the one guy's like, like,
I couldn't pay my credit card credit card bills because
that he was spending more money, like they would do
these big stage shows. Yeah, and he would, and they
had these big tours and then where they'd be done
with the they'd still owe a million dollars, like they
(22:01):
weren't making money, but he wanted it a certain way
and he was willing to spend more to make it
look like huge.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
That's how Philip Bailey ends up becoming famous as uh uh,
what's the song he had?
Speaker 1 (22:13):
Easy Lover?
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah? If Phil Collins and that helps. That helped propelled
his solo career.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Yeah, you know they they when he broke up, Philip
Bailey went to and started to work with Phil Collins. Uh.
And so the lead singer guy, What's He's white? He
his solo thing wasn't successful, not at all, but Philip
Baileys was so and then they had to get the
band back together. And it's a whole whole drama thing.
But it's pretty interesting. I thought that they've come to

uh SeaWorld a couple of times. When they do that
the summer concert series, there's still I mean there's still good,
good fun songs to listen to. Yeah, they're still performing.
You know who's in this is Barack and Michelle Obama
because that was like their favorite meeting when they were
kids and stuff, and that was pretty interesting. So if
you have any interest in earth Wind and Fire or
or even that kind of music, because I didn't really
(23:02):
know a lot about them, I found it interesting. And
it's by quest Love. It's a documentary, uh and it's
you know, earth Wind the Fire. But it was pretty good,
pretty good. Yeah, you like all the quest Love? How
many has he done now? I think about four that
I can call. I know he did the Summer what
was it, the Summer of Soul, right, which was the
(23:24):
concert that was programmed opposite of the moon Landing. Yeah,
and then there's the one that he did was about
Sly Size, and then this one. But I think there's
another one or two in there that I that I've missed. Yeah,
will he go down?
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Anyone about the music?

So will he go down? He'll be remembered more as
a director now, probably more than a musician, you think
quest Love, oh.

Man, No, no, No, it's all just about lanes where
you where you drop in on Quest Love's career because
he's also a very accomplished author, and I've got like
two or three of his books as well.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
He's well respected. Yeah so.

But but for me, Questlove is always going to be
the drummer for the Roots. It's always going to be
an incredible DJ as well.

Uh.

That's that's my the lane that I come in with
quest Love. That that he also is a great filmmaker
and a great author. But I still see him like
he's like he's the hip hop drummer for everybody. Like
jay Z just did the picnic out there in Philly
and it was the Roots and quest Love on stage.

Back in jay Z they call Travis Barker the white
quest Love.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
People say, hey, Russ Working you watch the documentary. It's
an HBO. It's on HBO. It's that's out now. I mean,
I just enjoyed it because I enjoy the history of music,
and I also enjoy watching how a band a bunch
of people who are artistic, how they stay together, and
what they argue about and all that kind of stuff.
You know, I kind of related to what you know,
what I do here and uh, and you could see
(24:54):
the arguments amongst the band members, and they didn't he
didn't pay them all. They may he was twenty five
hundred dollars a week is all they made that whole
time that they were in that band. And he's spending millions,
and he's spending million and.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
I'm sure he's driving the dopest cars and has the
nicest house.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
He lost it all. He lost it all. And so
when they were forced to get back together, they're like, okay, fine,
you know him and Philip Philip Bailey got along and
Philip Bailey's like, listen, I won't work for you, but
I will work with you, and we'll get the band
back together Earth Wind and Fire. And first concert they
did the thing where they lift him up out of
the stage and they come up and he's like, oh
my god, there's only four people here. They were used
(25:32):
to playing stadiums. They were used to play these huge stadiums,
and everyone had forgotten about him. Nobody cared anymore. Uh,
And so they had to kind of fight their way
back and play all these small, small venues. And then
they finally fought back to playing stadiums again.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
We're playing tax Rush. They're saying that they're coming. Earth
is going to be here in Orlando at the Kia Center.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
But it's up without where he's white, right, He's not
there he's dead, didn't he No, he's got Parkinson's. I
don't know if he passed, I don't know. Yeah, he's
got Parkinson's disease. So I don't know that he can
perform anymore. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, but they had like
they talked to him. White died in twenty sixteen. Oh
he did die. Yeah, Okay, so they okay, okay, maybe

three of his kids, and he had kids with like
three different people, and you know, he was not he
wentn't a great dad. All he really loved was the

We'll talk to Savannah tomorrow and see if we get
hurt of stomp and all that. We're gonna turn that

all that into wine and then auction off the bottles
of wine for the Carla K Cancer Screening Fund. So
Linda Byrd has gotten the big the big container or
whatever to do the stomping in. And that's part of
the fun that we're gonna have next week. Also, I

Matt is gonna have Tyler King in and Tyler King

has written a song with Matt and it's going to
record it. It's the first song Tyler King has ever recorded,
and he's gonna be doing that this week and we're
gonna debut it for the first time ever live on
and live on you know, iHeartRadio live on our show
next Friday. They're gonna be there to do it live
for the very first time. So Tyler King will be

with us next Friday to debut a new song. He's
super excited. Uh So that that's one thing we have
going on. Also, another friend of the show, the Stubborn
Cowgirl and Doug will be there at next Friday to
perform for you. We also have Read Foley Read Foley
has been out there every time we've been there. Yeah,
he's always good to hear. He's great, right right. And

then also we got Sean Holcombe. Remember he Sean Holcombe
was out with us at the beginning of the year
when we were in Daytona at the North Turn he
performed it. So he's gonna come out and perform. So
we got a bunch of you know live Holcome's got
a couple of days that he's doing. I'll get the dates.

Car Well, I'm sure he'll share him with us, but
he's going to be doing Judson's over here at the
Doctor Phillips Center. He's yeah, that's and that's again there's
an artist or somebody coming in there playing that room.
That's one of the coolest rooms in all of Orlando. Yeah,
you definitely got to check that out.

He's got a great following and Linda Bird's super excited
about him coming out. So we got, you know, four
great acts that will be out there. We got the
wine stomping and free breakfast for everybody thanks to thanks
to Bagel King, we got the Mayor of New Samurna

we're just gonna we're just gonna celebrate the first day
of summer. Of course, we'll be there on the Friday,

June nineteenth, the next day is officially the first day

and Doug Tyler King with a monster, Matt Reid Foley
and Sean Holcombe will all be performing that morning, so
it should be, uh, should be a lot of fun.
