Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Monsters in the Morning on Real Radio 104.1,
and we are broadcasting live on the iHeartRadio app all
over the world and all over the planet. You want
the monsters, man. You always got us on the iHeartRadio app.
There's a podcast section where you can check out the
last shows we've done. All the audio is there. And also,
they give us a video podcast as well. All of

(00:20):
that is on the app. That's pretty cool. So you'll
like that. If you want to leave a message right now,
you can.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Hot take messages.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Angel plays you guys at the top of the hour
and also at the end of the show, whole segment
we get to hear from you. So if you got
something to say, man, you can text us starting right
now and we'll play those today. And then also, if
you want to text us... People already texting this morning, 77031.
I'm already texting people back. Angel texts people back throughout
the program.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
That's cool.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
And then our YouTube channel is pretty badass. I think
you'll like it. It's Real Radio Monsters on YouTube. And
Ryan will chat with you during the breaks and stuff.
There's a whole area there where people chat back and
forth through the entire show, all fans of the show.
And we appreciate you being there. And help us grow
it and subscribe to our YouTube channel, Real Radio Monsters

(01:08):
on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
What's up, guys?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I'm Russ Rollins, host of the program. And with the fellas,
we're doing this until 11 o'clock. Here's the producer of
the Angel of Boom, Angel of Error.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Do it, Uncle. And.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
The king at mri at home uh scheduled later later
on the show uh or scheduled to talk to uh
uh burt kreischer supposed to be on the show today
uh dream a little is going to come back and
say hello to us today and uh no and uh
what else do we got well uh yeah i want
to It'll be a normal visit, Ryan.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, normal visit.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
She's not stripping for you today.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Unless we talk her into it.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
But anyway, day after Labor Day. I hope you guys
had a wonderful Labor Day. How did everything go out
at Universal? I did not make that show. It was
the first time I've ever said, you know what? I'm
taking the whole weekend off to hang with my wife.
How did Universal go, Angel?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
It was fantastic. Again, it's always an honor and a
privilege to partner up with them. And, you know, so
the listeners understand, just to make this clear, the reason
we do that is because that facilitates the tickets that
we're able to give away.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah, you get it right. I'm glad you said that.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
When we give away tickets for Universal all week, that's
basically because we've decided to go and do the show there. And,
you know, it's not like we get compensated or anything.
Our compensation is basically giving you guys those prizes. Yeah.
So that's the one part of it.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
The other part of it was it was just a
really cool couple days of– hanging out with my kid
and her best friend. And so, you know, I forget
how cool it is when you're, you know, in high
school and you get to skip a day of school
for no reason.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
And so they had a blast. So you took her out.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
So her and I went on Friday or on Thursday
night and we hit all the haunted houses.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
We did it.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
We crushed them all. We had a great time doing that.
And then Friday, her best friend got dropped off. And
the two of them, with those other tickets, they were
a fast pass as well, Ryan?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
And so they got to crush. They were at the
park at 8 o'clock in the morning and bouncing around
between the two parks and did all the rides they
wanted to do. And they had a blast. So it
was awesome.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
And then they came by the studio over there. um,
to say hi to everybody. And so that's cool.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
So it was neat. So sensitive question, but I, I'll
ask it in a sensitive way.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
No, you won't.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
No, I've noticed, right?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Like I don't, we don't, we don't peer into angel's
personal life very much unless he tells us about it.
We don't want to say, so I've noticed that, you know,
you spend a lot more time with the daughter and
doing more stuff with her and stuff like that. and
but she's now getting older and i remember a time
when when my daughter started getting older kids started getting
older i could tell that they kind of wanted to
do less with with with the parent and more with

(03:43):
their friends and now that she can drive anything everything
are you starting to feel any of that like did
you feel in a way like maybe you know maybe
i'm in the way here you know maybe dad's in
the way or uh is it has it not gotten
to that yet.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Uh well it depends right it has gotten and has
not got so you have thought about it there's some
levels and stuff where i want to give her her
space and everything yeah um and and so like and
up to this point hasn't done anything for me not
you know her mom and i not to trust her
yeah so we so giving her a space oh she's
a good she's a good girl yeah so like you
want to because you.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Got her smoking cigarettes i didn't want to bring.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
It up.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
You want because, you know, you got to or it's
my belief, my own personal belief. I got to trust
her and let her, you know, whatever bumps and bruises
and scrapes she's going to get. She's got some of these.
She's got to learn on them. I'm not always going
to be there to protect her.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
So, so there's that dynamic. I'm just wondering, like a lot,
a lot of kids, her age probably are going to
Halloween horror nights, not with their dad, but with all
their friends. And like, okay, so here's the cool part.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
I was like, Hey, listen, because remember I was trying
to get the, the other ticket for a friend for that.
And that didn't come through. And I was like, Hey, listen,
if you want to go with your friend, I'll understand.
And she's, and she's like, nah, dad, I'm going with you.
That just made me chills.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
No, seriously.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
That's really, really cool. She's always been such a speaker.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
But at some point though, like it hasn't happened yet.
At some point, the first time you kind of get
that feeling like, oh man, they, they don't want me here.
They want to do something with their friends. It's sort
of a stinger.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Uh, And I know it's going to happen because it
just happens. It happens with every teenager. We all go
through this. Right now, I'm in that pocket where because
it's got the cool job and all that, so I
get a little leeway there, I think. Because, for example,
I think it's in about a month or something, the

(05:38):
barn does their line dancing. The first Friday, it's kind
of like teenage night.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah. uh yeah is that what amber nova's been going
to like.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
What they do so it's so it's like teenage night
on the on that first friday yeah and so that's
to get them hooked yeah you know what i mean
so yeah so i got invited i never.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Thought about it that way but yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
That's a hundred percent what it is let's get them
hooked and they'll be when they get old enough they'll
come back here yeah yeah so i'm going line dancing
here uh yeah you've been i mean observation you've been
you've been super dadding it uh uh lately you know
and not that you always haven't been a great i'm
just i can.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Just tell you used to suck at being a dad
no no no i mean you know.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I had that one awkward week earlier in the summer
so which i don't know i don't know what happened.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Oh well yeah well i'm gonna bring that up but
i just say like you've been doing a lot of
uh dad stuff which is great which is awesome uh
and now that oh i think every.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Parent though i think all dads are mom and dads
i will put it this way I think every parent
feels that way, what I'm about to say. But I
also think when you're co-parenting, it probably becomes escalated or
inflated or whatever. You need some wins. There are times where,
in that situation, you want a hero dad. And so
I'm not going to BS. This was a cool hero

(06:51):
moment kind of thing, being able to take them and
have them have a fantastic time. and have a great
time at the park, you know? Cause then like on Saturday, Saturday, Sunday, yesterday,
her and her friends were at the beach.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Right.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
It is cool when you can have that moment.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Cause I remember like, uh, my dad, when I was
like 12, uh, we got into his car and then
he gave me a beer.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Hey, man, hero moments come in different kinds of ways.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
You don't get to pick and choose.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
He gave me a beer and I did a scratch
off and he let me keep the money.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
That's a real story. Showed you how to roll a blunt, huh?

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Because I know now that your daughter's driving, you used
to really enjoy the time that you guys spent in
the car with her, and now that's gone away a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
So to replace that, all right, so for example, yeah,
that like- you know, through her, as soon as she started,
let's say preschool, I, I always picked her up from school, uh,
you know, and, and was always getting to see her, uh,
every day, you know, especially once her mom and I
separated and whatnot.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Right.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
So it was really important for me to, you know,
not make the same mistakes as I did with my oldest.
And so I was like, Hey, so I am going
to whatever I'm not going to miss. And whenever I,
you know, I don't, you know, whatever I can do
to not miss stuff. So that was a huge part
of our thing was our car time, you know, and
we had car rules and the car space was a

(08:09):
safe space and we could talk about everything and say anything.
And what was talked about in the car stayed in
the car kind of thing. And so that's, you know,
obviously because she's driving now, it's changed. And she, you know,
really enjoys her freedom and being able to drive and
all that.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
So.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Now we do lunch once a week to kind of
compensate for that. Because if there's one thing I do
that was the biggest thing of this year, it's that.
It's that time there.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
I'm just going to speak for me real quick and
to ask if this has ever been an issue with you.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Has there ever been an issue?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Because I had an ex-wife that would get mad or
jealous if I spent time with my daughter. No. Can
you imagine someone trying to, and this was after I
married her. And then, and then this whole thing happened. Well, Oh,
you spend too much time with Brittany.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
I'm like, what?

Speaker 3 (08:56):
No, no, no.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Can you imagine if someone did that to you? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
That's actually, that's like, was one of my, you know, again,
making the mistakes that I made with my oldest and
then not wanting to do that. One of the things
I didn't do, or I made it, you know, my
own personal rules. It would, it would take some time
for you to meet my daughter and, About a year
or so, I thought it was. Yeah, it was usually
about a year before you met her. And then, yeah,

(09:24):
if me having a kid was an issue, then don't
even start talking to her.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Right, right, right. But just imagine, like, after the situation,
then there was like, oh, you're spending time. You know,
I'm your wife. I deserve more attention. Like, what the hell?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
And to that point, I would say every person, you know,
every relationship that I've been in, They've every single one
of them was always, uh, thoughtful and, uh, considerate and, uh, and,
and took that into mind and it would be, would
like kind of get on my, but Hey, are, are
you checking in with her? Are you, have you talked
to her? So every, you know, that was never an, uh,

(10:00):
an issue ever, you know, it's not a good situation.
I can't even imagine someone telling you that though. Cause
I mean, I know how passionate you.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Are, but.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Again, very, very fortunate in, uh, in that regard, uh, the,
you know, people that got close in that relationship-wise, that
was never an issue.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
The bigger issue was me. I'm glad you enjoyed, I'm
glad she got to go out. I'm going to check
in with Ryan to find out how his, because I
know you got to go to all the houses. I
went to all the haunted houses. Ryan missed too. Oh,
he missed too. Well, I want to find out about
the Aussie house. I want to hear about that. I
want to hear about the show on Friday where I
catch up with all you guys. I'll tell you what
happened to me. I had a, oh my God. Something

(10:45):
terrible happened. I'll tell you about that. So it is
our first hour on Tuesday, which we always think we're
just talking to ourselves, and you guys kind of get
to hear it. Though I know we're number one in
the market. We have 300,000 people listening right now. It's
crazy how the 6 o'clock hour has evolved. I think
it's just us talking. You can text us if you
want to, though. If you are there, 77031. You're listening

(11:06):
to The Box in the Morning. Hey, happy Tuesday. Day
after Labor Day. Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend.
We're kind of doing a wrap-up of all our weekends
and what happened. And we'd like to hear from you
if you want to text us at 77031. If you
want to say hi to us, we're all going to
be out in Mount Dora this Saturday for pitmasters and pourers.

(11:31):
Going to be a great time. Come by, say hi.
We got MWO wrestling happening. Angel and I are going
to bring you the action as your MWO announce team.
Thanks to Mills Air. Appreciate that, Mills Air. Tuna Tim's
going to be out there with Onyx The One. And
we got Amber Nova defending her title. Poppy D will
be wrestling as well. And it's free. It's a free show.

(11:51):
Free attendance. to pit masters and pours this coming saturday
uh so okay we got the little wrap up with
angel he got to go out to uh universal so
did you ryan you went now did you go thursday
night and did you guys hook up with poppy d
because i know he said he was going to try
to find.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
You guys i did not uh see him i i
ended up burning into angel accidentally at one point Twice.
But yeah, Poppy D was out there. My personal trainer
was out there. I was hoping they could all link
up and we could work out in the lines or something.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Right, right, right. But then that did not happen. So no.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
I did hit all 10 houses. I only hit eight.
I know Angel hit 10 because he's a super cool guy.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
So what two did you miss? I missed the alien
abduction one. Okay. And.
I don't know what the other one is. But I
had fun. They're great houses. And yeah, it was.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
And then we got to broadcast the next morning and
me and Angel had to corral the cat that is
Amber Nova. And oh, buddy, she was being extra that day.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
I don't know if she was like she's like the
teacher's not here. So I'm going to be a little
bit crazier. And there was that element. And there was
I don't go back and listen to the first hour, dude.
I'm gonna tell you that right now, because she was
going scorched earth on you. I heard about.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Every just all these things, thinking that she was riveting.
She's under the impression since you weren't there that this
is my impression. And Ryan, correct me if I'm wrong,
because you weren't there, Russ. She felt that we needed
to be extra.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Ah, yeah. And she's already extra. She's already that. So, yeah,
it was... What was her complaints about me?

Speaker 2 (13:32):
I didn't know them had helped her. She did not
let her do her Canada joke, I guess.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
She's been upset about that for an entire week.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
She was mad that you let her do the Canada joke.
She was mad that, oh, because her story.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Because... I've never told anyone they can't say any joke ever. Okay.
We know this. There's no reason to clarify. We know. No, no.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
It was that.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
And then there was the fact that because her story
of going to Canada and everybody was rooting for her wasn't,
you know.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
It wasn't.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
And so that she felt that you cut her off.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
And then remember that day Angelique was there.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
And then she literally, again, Angelique sitting next to her. Yeah.
Taking shots at Angelique because Angelique got to tell all
her stories.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Well, Amber's story was like, oh, everything was so wonderful.
Everything was so great. Everybody cheered for me.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
She had a Canadian geese joking hidden in there somewhere.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
There was apparently a gem there that.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
You missed out on it. I'm an asshole. That's all right.
It happens. Yeah, see, the problem was I... Wrangling those two, though.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Who was hosting? Was it Angel or you? We were
just kind of doing whatever.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Okay, so you guys can both see how it can
be to try to... When they want to talk over
each other.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Angelique was cool, though. I think what was cool is
that it was Amber and then.
You know, I'm not trying to throw him under the bus.
Honix was, you know, he was on his own thing.
He kept swearing on our radio.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah. Oh.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Yeah, it was a big nothing burger.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
I've never had him do that before.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
The problem with Amber is that what I realized was
it was my fault because I kept... asking her questions
and I should not have done that. I should have
just like moved on, pretend like she's not there.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Well, yeah, that's sometimes you have to do that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
But when you want to fire up and you get
a little crazy out of her, then you ask her
questions and then you'll get, you'll get some sort of craziness.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
I don't know, man. Like I've been doing this job
for like a while now. Right. And I'm still not
a morning person. Like, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
It's not human. Right.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Especially before the show starts. So we just got done
doing Halloween Horror Nights. We were there super late, barely
got any sleep. I know I was rocking about three
and a half hours, right?

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Right.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
And so I'm like, all right, let's just get our
stuff together. Let's have a calm ride in.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Thank you to... to the lady who drives us in.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Paula.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Paula. Oh, she's always nice. She's so nice.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Her and Gil, like the whole team there are absolutely accommodating.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
The team is fantastic. But like, I'm like, okay, let's go.
And then Amarnova from like second one of opening that effing.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Car door is like, hey buddy! And I'm like, I can't.
I already, I can't. Like, why are you this intense
this early in the morning?

Speaker 1 (16:15):
She's doing show, Russ.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
When we're getting picked up. When we're walking. We're getting
picked up at Cabana Bay. She's doing show. Uh-huh. She's
doing show as we're walking. That's usually when we're being quiet.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
So we don't talk to each other. Charging up. I'm
getting ready to pounce.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
You know what I mean? You know, it is weird
for other people. They see, like, we're not talking to
each other when the mics aren't on. Other people think
we're weird. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
But we have five hours to fail to talk to
each other. We save it. She doesn't save anything, even
during the breaks. And I'll sometimes look over to Angel,
and he's watching her talk. You can't hear her, and
you're just grinning because you know we got to hear
it all.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
But listen.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
She's a lot.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
She's a lot, but I love her to death.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Ryan had a blast, though. You had a blast at
Halloween Horror Nights?

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Oh, I had a great time at Halloween Horror Nights.
How was the Aussie house? The music's too good for
it to be scary. Oh, okay. That's how I feel
about it. I probably would like it there. What's crazy?
It's like an honored Aussie house.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
No, it's a scary house. It's a scary.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
No, no, no.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
It's not a.
I will say this.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
It's an honor to him in the sense that it's
the Aussie house, but we were talking about this on Friday.
There's two or three houses that I've been telling people
it's definitely worth going through twice because there's so much
going on. And Aussie's definitely one of them because there's
a couple, again, line of sight things where if you

(17:35):
don't look up, you're going to miss. And there's a
really cool, epic moment with him. I don't want to
spoil it. but you got to be looking up and
I can see where, where like, uh, with the people
that we were with, there was a ton of people
that missed it because there's some visuals. Ryan is right.
The music is absolutely impeccable. Like it's, I mean, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
So it's, it's perfect.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
And the, and the, the concept and the theme of it,
it's incredibly well executed.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
You know, I will say I've, I've enjoyed and listened
to more Ozzy now that he passed. I appreciate it
more now than I did when he was around. Uh,
And that, you know, that happens with some, some artists,
you know, you kind of appreciate them more when they're,
when they're gone.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
But so, okay.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
So you went out and I saw then you got
to hang in a lazy river.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, that was a good time.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
What time did you leave on Friday? Did you stay late?

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Because I learned something from you this time, and I
think it's always been available to us, but I just
didn't make the connection until seeing you do it.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
So, like, you know, for example, if we get invited
out there, our check-in is, you know, at a specific time.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Right.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
But you can go there all day. You can go
early because we have the reservation. So he was there.
You were there at least two, maybe three hours before
I got there.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Because my wife took the day off because it's our anniversary.
So we, uh, I'm like, Hey, got you an exclusive
suite at the Cabana Bay where they have a lazy river.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Uh, cause I'm awesome. Local celebrity heroes, scuba diver, uh,
Ryan Holmes. So, but we get done with the show
and you know how it is. We get done with
the show.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
We get done.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
I'm tired.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
My brain, I've just been going for five hours. I'm
tired and I got a lot.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
And most people don't understand that. But after a five-hour show,
especially when we're out of this element, this element is home.
This is comfortable. This is, you know, it's not as bad.
But you do a show out somewhere, you feel like
you've got to be on a little bit more. And
it takes a lot of effort to get out there
in a different spot. So for whatever reason, you do
a show out and you feel really drained afterward. Yes.

(19:39):
And so.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
My wife, the whole time, about the last night of
the show, she's texting me pictures of herself sitting in
the lazy river.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
I saw that, yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
And I'm like.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
I'm going to have to go in this lazy river,
aren't I?

Speaker 4 (19:52):
And I'm tired now. And I got like kettle corn
stuff to do and whatnot. And my wife's like, just
get in the lazy room. I'm like, I don't want
to get in the lazy room.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
You didn't want to get in the lazy room. I'm tired.
And I got, I'm like, I'm thinking about tomorrow already.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Right.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Cause I got like, I got a lot of stuff
to do Friday.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
I'm actually very busy most of the afternoon because I'm
like getting stuff ready for Saturday.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
So I'm like, I don't have time. Like blah, blah, blah.
She's like, she's like, here, I got you this spicy margarita.
You're getting in the late. She's good. She's like, you're
getting lazy.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
She knows her man.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
The other thing is, um, I don't know if I
talked about this on air or not, but I didn't
bring a swimsuit, right? But I learned that you can
just order on Uber from Target and they'll bring you
a swimsuit.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
I'll be damned.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
So she.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
ordered like all this stuff from target on uber and
just had it sent to the hotel.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
That's awesome and then it's not like that that super
uh target is right around the corner so it's like
it's it's delivered within a reasonable amount of time.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
It's super cheap so i'm like okay so i got
there she had board shorts ready to go everything and
i'm like she's like getting ready i'm like i don't
want to get lazy river and then i stepped in
the lazy river she got me a float and i
was like yeah i did like i did like five
or six laps it was pretty good it was a
good time And it's like, it's like a tiny lazy river,
but it's a very well done lazy river.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
There's a waterfall. There's the eight minute moves at a
good speed.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
And that's, and I think this talked her into like,
because before she's like, I don't know, but now she's
like open.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
To the lazy river house. Oh, now the Apopka lazy
river house is, is back on deck.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
So we'll see how that goes.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
So that was the only thing I was bummed out
about is like, man, I, again, I, not think or
not until i saw you do it i was like
if i'm playing this better i could have you know
on friday or was it uh thursday could have been
there right after the you know our show thursday yeah
and then i totally didn't wasn't even thinking uh bringing swimsuits.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
But i will i learned like i'm never posting another
topless photo of me again oh yeah i'm like floating
a lazy river with my wife i'm having a great
time and then people are like.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
Look at them nipples though Like, look at them nipples. Like,
so many nipple comments. Like, yo, we got nipples, guys.
It's fine.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
I don't need you to comment on my nipples. So
it was a good time all around. It made for
a great anniversary weekend.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Oh, that's right. It was your anniversary weekend. That's why
you got the room at Cabana Bay.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Uh, no, that's just cause I don't want to get
up at three in the morning and have to come
here after doing Halloween horror night. So they were like
super accommodating with all that. But I, I was able
to pick my room this time, which I hadn't been
able to do before.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
So I got one up in the high tower, like
the 10th floor of the building.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Oh, you didn't stay an extra day for the anniversary?

Speaker 2 (22:33):
I thought you did.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
No. No, no, no, because I still have to do
kettle corn in the morning because I'm a businessman, Rush.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
I'm an entrepreneur. Damn kettle corn. How'd it sell? I
hate it so much. How'd it sell?

Speaker 4 (22:44):
I didn't make any money at all.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
No.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
No.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
God damn it. It's too hot for people to be
out there. You never make any money either. That's the problem.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
The problem is now, like, there's one, like, because where
I sit, I can view the whole farmer's market, right?
So I can see other people getting business, which is
so frustrating.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
You got to put back the cowboy hats on, man.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Maybe. You got to look like little... I'm going to
do something.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
I was watching this documentary, a mini doc, about Grillo's. Grillo's,
the pickle company. And I didn't know anything about Grillo's.
I just know they had delicious pickles, right? But that
guy in Grillo's started in 2008. I thought this company
had been around forever.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
It's 2008.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
I think I've seen the same thing. He started with
a cart, a pickle cart. going out to like Boston commons,
like basically a farmer's market. He was selling two pickles
skewers for a dollar. But what he did was he
made all the merch and all this, all the other stuff,
because this guy wanted, it was supposed to work for Nike.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
That's what he wanted to do. But he took all
his knowledge of like marketing and stuff.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
And like, building the merch and building the stuff for Grillo's,
the pickles.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
So like the.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Brand became more important than the pickles.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
And I'm like, I could do that with kettle corn. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
I was like, I could build my kettle corn empire.
I just need to make kettle corn cool somehow.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Exactly. And then profit.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
See, I've always believed that. The kettle corn kind of
tastes the same everywhere. You got to have a gimmick
that makes you stand out.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
And some people, I used to argue with all the
time with, I didn't understand that, but I do believe
gimmicks and things like that that make you stand out
are super important.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
I think what I'm going to do is I'm going
to start branding. I'm going to sell merch in my
kettle corn stand. I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
But I think I'm going to rebrand it as metal corn.
And I'm like, okay. make like band t-shirts but like
for cattle.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Corn see make it fun you you need to make
your business fun for you because when i said like
wear the uh the the cowboy thing you're not into
that so you don't.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Know i hate the stupid cowboy but.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Do something you're into and it'll make it fun for
you and then the more fun it is for you
the more money you'll make i guarantee.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
You yeah maybe i don't know yeah make it fun.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Change it around yeah i think that's a great idea
yeah metal corn Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
And it had the band kind of t-shirts, but it's
all kettle. And so it's a funny pun. I think
that's great.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Exactly.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
So thank you to grill us for doing that. But like, uh,
I'll tell you, there's one stand out there that gets,
I don't know what they sell.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
But they always have a line. The line goes way
down the road. I went over there for the first
time this week. And they have vegetables and fruits that
I've never heard of. Like spiky fruits is the best way.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
I can describe it.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Oh, I think I know who that is. Yeah. So
they've been promoting.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
It's... These are fruits from around the world. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
I think I follow them on Instagram. I didn't realize
they were going there.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
But they have to have like seven to eight people
working there, handing out fruits and stuff and bagging it up.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
And I'm like, I'm in the wrong business. You got
to do that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
You need to get fruitier. All right. I'll tell you
what happened to me this weekend when we come back.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Don't go anywhere. You're listening to the Mantra of the Morning. Weeklygroup.com. Radio.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Radio. Radio.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Radio. This Saturday, it's pitmasters and pourers and is free
to attend for the first year, which is awesome. Live music,
Naomi Bradshaw on the dot coms, Thompson Square performing live.
There's going to be college football on a big screen
out there, all kinds of beer and bourbon and barbecue

(26:19):
to get. If you want to come by and help
out the Carla K Cancer Screening Fund, I'll be there
in a little tent collecting donations and auctioning off Amber
Nova's belt. I don't care if she has another one
or not. I'm auctioning it off to raise money for
the Carla K Cancer Screening Fund.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
She's not going to have a dog. You know that, right?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
I know. It's so irritating. I don't even want to
get into that right now. But anyway, this Saturday, we'll
be out there. Angel and I will be your MWO
announced team, and there'll be free wrestling to go check
out with all the people you know from the show
that wrestle.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
We'll be doing their thing. Oh, I got a call. Oh, man.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
I got a call or a text yesterday from Teal Piper, who...
I wanted to put on the bill, but she wasn't available.
And then the match she was supposed to have canceled.
And I'm like, oh, man, it's too late. So I'll
work her into another event coming up soon. So I
had Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday off. And, you know,
a four day weekend like that for me just is

(27:15):
is awesome. Get to stay home. And, uh, and basically we,
you know, sleep in, sleep in late, you know, uh,
go check out the pool, you know, hang by the
pool and then go on the boat and everything. So I, uh,
we had our first day Friday.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
It was great. Awesome day. Uh, you know, just hanging
out with the wife.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Uh, I'm, I'm more and more now where it just,
I just like hanging out with her instead of, I
used to be, I used to be, I liked a
bunch of people around now. I'm not like that much anymore.
I'd probably get an older, whatever it is. I don't
know anyway, but. I always like to get out on
the water. I love getting out on the boat. So
like Saturday, I'm going to take you out, honey. And
this place, now, if you remember correctly, I told a

(27:54):
story some time ago. about a place that I went to,
one of the restaurants I went to on the Winter
Haven chain of lakes. And the service was so bad
that I got really perturbed because the waitress was just
sort of, I didn't care. And I'm like, so I'm
thinking about getting a salad. And she's like, I don't
eat salad. Just, you know, really, really bad attitude. Well,

(28:16):
after I told that story, about two weeks after that,
that place closed. Because it wasn't just me that was
complaining about it. A lot of people didn't like it.
Was it the big one? The big one we went past, yeah.
So that big one that we went past opened back up.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
And it's the original owners. Now, everybody in Winter Haven
was like, oh, thank God. The original owners are taking
it back. It's Harborside. That's the name of the place, Harborside. Uh,
and it's, it's right there. We went past it. So
I'm like, let's go back and let's test, you know,
try out Harborside. And cause they, the new owners have
it again. They opened up yesterday. So, uh, so we

(28:53):
were having a good time and I'm, you know, we're
playing music and the weather's perfect and everything's great. And
I happen to wear. these, uh, these water shoes that
I have, which is, I like them. They're water shoes.
You know, if you've got to jump in the water and, uh, uh,
you know, you can wear them and then you can
wear them on the boat and you know, which, but
they're sort of flimsy. They just got a bottom and
they've got holes in them. So the water can go through,

(29:14):
but a little flimsy. So at Harborside, they have a
bunch of docking where you can dock your boat and
go into the restaurant. So we pull up and Mary
Ellen puts the rope around the front one, but she
couldn't get it like all the way. I kind of

(29:35):
had to pull it a little bit to get closer
to the dock. So I hook up the backside. and
then I'm in such a great mood, you know, it's
the weekend, everything is great. I'm like, oh, let me,
let me re dock this. Let me, you know, take
the rope off and re dock it. So I go
to re dock it.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Right.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
And I take the, take the line off and then
I pull the line and I pull the boat close
to the dock and my foot is is on the
edge of the boat. And the dock is right here.
And I have never had this much pain or heard
a crunch as the bone was breaking in my... And

(30:14):
it was my big toe and the next toe over.
And it was the most... And it definitely broke my
second toe.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
And it was... It was ungodly painful.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Oh, no.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
And I'm like, oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Worse than any time you've ever stubbed your toe?

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Oh, angel. And I could hear the crunch.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Because the boat, you know, the wave was going up,
going up, and then it caught it, and it went crunch.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
And I'm like, oh.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
And I'm like, well, Mary Ellen, you know, she's a paramedic.
You can help me.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
And she's like, yeah, nothing I can do for that.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
There's absolutely nothing she looks at it a couple popsicle
sticks is about the best that anybody can do.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
She's like yeah that's that's a broke toe and i'm
like what can i do like not much it was
as ungodly i will never do that again i felt
so stupid that my foot was so close to the
edge of the boat that is a rookie move uh a.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
A good captain of the ship never would have done.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
That damn and breaking a tub broken toes before there's
nothing you can do about it too you just have
to do Deal with it and hope it heals correctly.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
It is so black right now. And this is the
first time.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Black toe. Black toe.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
The first time I've had it in a shoe all
weekend because I couldn't wear shoes all weekend. And Mary
Ellen said, well, you can wear flip flops to work.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
I'm like, I am not. I'm not wearing flip flops
to work. Which wear one flip flop? No.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
No.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
First, I don't want you to see my black toe.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Let me see that black toe. You don't want to
see it. Why are you hiding your black toe? It's
as black as it can.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Be, man.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
And blood was spewing out. Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
It was the most graphic because I sat there and
I watched it. You know, sometimes things go in slow motion.
I saw it happening, but I couldn't move fast enough
to move it. And when it crunched, I heard you
could hear it break. It was so bad. It was
the word. At some point, did you get an x-ray
or are you going to wait? Mary Ellen said, even

(32:12):
if they say it's real, there's nothing you can do.
The only thing I would say is that if it's
pieces well i look it's it's it's it's super black
right now uh i went right into harborside and ordered
uh tequila which made which made things better the lady
probably thought i was a nut give me three shots

(32:32):
of tequila please like an old cowboy like an old
cowboy yeah uh.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Oh no dude that's those are the.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Worst oh my god it's it's it was so painful
but uh you know i didn't let it ruin my
weekend but uh but um Are you walking around with
a limp? The restaurant was good. Yeah, I'm limping a
little bit. The restaurant was good. They made it good again,
which is great. That's nice to have another place to
go eat on the Chain of Lakes.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
You've been icing it? You've been doing elevation or anything?
Is it right now? Elevation.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
I like elevation. I like this now because now you've
got a boat. Now you've got a pirate name. Old
Black Toe. Black toe of the Winter Haven Seas.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
If I showed it to you. Let me see that toe.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Put it on camera.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
No, I'm not putting it on camera.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Put the toe on the camera. This is what we've
always wanted.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
No, we're not putting no feet on cameras.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
No. You love a good foot cam. Come on, guy.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Come on there, black toe. No, no, no.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
I'm not doing it.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
All right, listen. I had more stuff happen this weekend.
I'll go over it a little bit later, but we
got trivia to do. We got prizes to give out
to you guys. So if you want to get on
the line, this is a good time to do it.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
407-916-1041.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
If you win in trivia, you've got to stick around,
take the floor afterwards, and tell us about something that's
important to you and have something to say. Make something up.
Something fun. You're on the radio, for God's sake. So
good luck to you. Get on the line.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
407-916-1041.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Show the toe during the break.
