Speaker 1 (00:01):
Making his way to the ring from Orlando, Florida, Triple R,
Russ Ray Rollins!

Speaker 2 (00:12):
The Triple R segment at 7 brought to you by WeAreBeyondABank.com.
That's WeAreBeyondABank.com. If you're going to buy a house, this
is who you want to call. It's my buddy Brad Siebert.
He's helped me and family members many times get into
a house. He will go over and beyond to make
sure you're taken care of. Matter of fact, when I
bought my house... The people I was selling my house to,

(00:33):
their financing fell through. He had to take care of them, too.
And he did it. Did a great job. He's awesome
at what he does. If you follow them on social media,
you could win a $ 100 gas card. They're giving a
bunch of those away.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
So why not?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Just go ahead and follow them on social media. You
could win a $ 100 gas card from wearebeyondabank.com. Become a
certified homebuyer. If you have to bid against somebody with cash,
your bid is just as good as cash. Sometimes even better.
because your financing is all secure when you're a certified
home buyer with my buddy Brad Siebert at wearebeyondabank.com. They

(01:07):
got the Move Up Buyers Program. That's the only way
I got into the house I'm in now, and it's
my forever home. And I got it because of Brad
and wearebeyondabank.com. NMLS ID number 4, 2, 1, 5, 9, 3.
We are beyond the bank.com. Thank you, Brad Siebert. What's
up everybody. It's a, it's a Thursday. It's a weekend Eve,
Ryan Holmes here. And now Angel's going to tell you

(01:29):
about the prizes that we have in the prize pinata.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Russ and today's prize pinata is brought to you by
great friends over there at Cento family moving in storage.
That's the website. That's just easy to get a quote today.
Go to Cento moving.com. That's Cento moving.com. You put your
information there. Uh, Tell them where you're moving to, where
you're moving from, doing all those things. And you can
get an idea of what your move is going to cost.
Everything from residential moving, office moving, packing, storage, and long-distance

(01:54):
relocation services. That's CentoMoving and CentoMoving.com. Russ, today's prize for
you out of up first. We've got a pair of
tickets to see Orlando City SC versus Toronto FC at
Inter.co Stadium. And that's going to be September the 12th.
That's in a couple days.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
That's Saturday.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Sweet.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
And then we also have a pair.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Of tickets to see The Strokes at the Benchmark International
Arena on September the 12th. And those are the prizes
in today's prize pinata, Russ.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
All right.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Who we got on the.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Line that wants to play a little trivia and take
the floor with us afterwards? Holmes, give me number one
through five. Let's go number four. That's going to be
Sean in a coey.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Sean.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
How you doing, Sean?

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Hey, buddy.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Got a trivia question for you. If you get it right,
you are the man. Oh, we got a little weird
sound there.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Hold on.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
We're trying to fix the audio.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Hold on.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
He's going to fix the audio for you, Sean.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Hold on. Angel's getting talking to him. Technical difficulties. That
or Sean is a robot, which is entirely possible now.
It's all going to kill us in 10 years.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I know.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Save that.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
That's a topic. We're talking about that later.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
You talk about it later.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
That's scary, though, isn't it? Yeah, don't give me a timeline. No,
they said the end of this decade. Like, this decade is.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
I thought it was a decade, not this decade. What
I heard was the end. I don't think we're dying
in 2029. The end of the decade is what I heard.

Speaker 6 (03:18):
No.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
The guy that stepped away said.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
In a decade?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
In a decade.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Okay, well, they must have reported it improperly then because
I was watching TMZ, right?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
They said the end of the decade. Either way, short.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Amount of time. Sean, are you there, buddy?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Hey, what's up, monster? There we go. There you go.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
That's much better, man. All right, listen, I got a
trivia question for you. If you get it right, you
are the man. You get to get a prize. You
get to plug and promote whatever you want. Everything is good.
If you don't get it right, don't be too upset.
You got two fellas here that can help you as
a lifeline. So you kind of have two shots at this.
Are you ready, Sean?

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Let's do it. All right.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
John Mulaney, who's a great stand-up comic, and he's been
on Saturday Night Live a lot, and he's a funny dude.
John Mulaney is in talks to bring a classic spy
spoof TV series to Warner Brothers. Now, this came out
way back in 1965. The original one did. It was
a Mel Brooks show. Mel Brooks had created this original
show for NBC. What is the name of the TV

(04:19):
show that he's bringing to Warner Brothers?

Speaker 5 (04:23):
Oh, man, this might be way before my time.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Man, I.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Was born in 1990, so I don't, man. 1965, Spy.
Stop typing. Four.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Three, two, one.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Just say anything.

Speaker 7 (04:43):
Mr.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
And Mrs. Smith.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Okay, not a bad guess. You know what? You got
a spy thing. Spy movie. You know, I appreciate you trying.
That's not correct.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
I can see something at the wall.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
That's okay.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
That's okay.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
You did good. You did Google. Good job. Who do
you want to help you? You want Angel or you
want Ryan?

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Let's do the KOD. The KOD.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
All right, KOD. John Mulaney is in talks to bring
a classic spy spoof TV series to Warner Brothers. Mel
Brooks and Buck Henry actually created this original NBC series
way back in 1965. You want another hint?

Speaker 3 (05:14):
No.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
I can give you a hint.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
No.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
But if I give you a hint, okay, fine. What
was the name of this TV show?

Speaker 3 (05:21):
This could be a romaine, but I love this show.
It would come on Nick at night all the time.
There was a cone of silence. There was a shoe phone. Oh,
he's making a face. I don't think I'm getting this.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
One.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's got to be Get Smart, right? Yeah, okay, good.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
All right.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Woo, woo, woo, woo.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yeah, Get Smart. You know, Get Smart also, there was
a major motion picture, Get Smart.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, 2008.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, who starred in that?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
That would be Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
I never saw it. I never don't feel bad. Nobody
else said nobody saw this movie.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Get smart.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Now, when I was a kid, Steve Carell. Yeah. Okay.
Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I remember them promoting it. I never actually saw it.
I remember watching the original show on like reruns and stuff.
And the guy, he had the shoe phone, you know. Yeah,
it was great. And his, there was a girl.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
I didn't know there was Mel Brooks.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
The girl was 99, I think. Like, he had a
hot girl that was a spy with him.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
100%.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah. So John Mulaney, now it says bring it to
Warner Brothers. And I assumed right away, oh, that means
make a movie. But that doesn't really mean that anymore,
does it? It's just because it's going to be on
Warner Brothers. It could be like a series movie. That's
on the WB.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I'd watch it as a show. John Mulaney would make
a great Maxwell Smart. That'd be pretty good. Yeah. So
I'm all in. Let's go. I thought I would be
excited about the movie, too. I didn't like the movie.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah, I didn't see the movie.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
You're excited because it's potentially a vehicle for this particular
comedic guy.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
I think John Mulaney is one of the funniest people
when he's not having a breakdown or ruining his whole life.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
He is pretty funny. I didn't know much about him before.
I've seen him on Saturday Night Live a lot.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
You don't like John Mulaney? What did he do?

Speaker 4 (07:12):
No, I know very little about that guy. And Get Smart,
it's just, again, I've never.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
It's really dumb. i've never yeah i've never yeah it's.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
One of those things that when you're a kid it's
sort of funny because it's so stupid it's the.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Only mel brooks thing i like apparently really i didn't
know it was.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Mel brooks yeah mel brooks and then buck henry buck
henry actually uh is one of the original guys from
saturday night live i guess he used to host it
a lot i don't know i don't know much about
him but um dude mel brooks.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Didn't do naked gun right was it was that no
okay no no no no Police squad, naked gun. That
was not. Nope. Okay. Jerry Zucker.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Okay. Yeah, dude. Get Smart is awesome. I still watch
it now. Every now and then it pops up on
an episode of YouTube. I get a lot of retro
TV shows that pop up on my YouTube lately. Yeah.
And I watched a couple episodes of Get Smart recently.
I think it still holds up. As a kid, I loved, loved,
loved that show.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
John Mulaney, he was a writer for Saturday Night Live.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
He was a writer for Saturday Night Live.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
And then now he's been a guest host a bunch
of times, right?

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yes, very well beloved, one of the funniest stand-up comedy
people of all time. His delivery. But he also has
a kind of a drug problem.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yeah, he had a massive drug problem. He's got a
really hot wife, too, right? A famous hot wife.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
I think they divorced.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Oh, no.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah, he's not good at life.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
That's a stand-up comic thing.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Yeah, I mean, he's one of those guys that definitely
has a Jekyll and Hyde situation, and when he goes Hyde,
he just tends to ruin his life.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Hey, speaking of Saturday Night Live, they did announce for
the first part of the, you know, this next season,
season 52, who the hosts are going to be. And
one of the hosts is going to be Jalen Brunson.
You know, obviously, you know, you got New York City.
So it's in New York.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
It's Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Point guard. The Knicks.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Come on.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
The Knicks.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Okay, sorry, guys. I don't follow the Knicks. I'm a
magic guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you don't get smart. Yes. Yes,
I do.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Jalen Brunson is probably more relevant right now in the moment.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah, one of the biggest athletes in the world.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
He was the hero for the NBA finals for the Knicks. Well,
I don't like the Knicks, and I don't like that
they won, so I don't care.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Okay, all right. Also back hosting is Dakota Johnson. um
uh for uh october the third promoting some movie called
turnstile i did see the uh the preview of uh
turnstile it looks like a good movie uh i know
you guys don't uh or at least ryan you don't
care for uh dakota johnson.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Uh no i got no beef in dakota johnson you
know what movie i am excited for though what's that
uh uh nathan fielder did is doing him he's he
filmed a secret documentary awkward one minute uh movie trailer
that trailer is wacky so he filmed a movie about
elizabeth holmes the lady that did theranos that like lied
to everybody yes yeah so as before she went to

(10:08):
jail nathan uh fielder was following her around yeah and
doing a documentary 824 just picked it up And there's
this trailer. If you get a chance to check out
this trailer. Yeah. She's doing this stare the whole time
at him while he's talking. She's wild. And you're like,
are you even a human? What's going on in that
brain of hers? And he's a guy that like he

(10:29):
always he's you never know who's in on the joke
when he's doing something like he's that kind of dude.
And I can't wait to see that movie.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Also hosting Saturday Night Live. Shane Gillis is going to
be back, which he does pretty good.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
And then he's still married to Olivia Munn. Olivia Munn.
They're still together.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Right. He has a baby with somebody that he like
was with. Oh, really? And then they like got divorced
pretty fast.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
And then on, uh, Halloween, I guess this year, Halloween's
on Saturday, uh, Saturday night live the girl that was
in that movie. Uh, what's the hell was the name
of the movie? Um, Obsession. The girl from Obsession is
going to host.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Oh, very cool.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Did you finally see Obsession?

Speaker 3 (11:12):
I did. Loved it.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
I mean, I don't know about you, but it reminded
me of a couple crazy girlfriends I had. Yeah. The
arguing in the restaurant scene.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Like, I've lived that before. Were you kind of turned on, though? No.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
No.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Just me?

Speaker 5 (11:27):
No.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Chloe Fineman will not be on Saturday Night Live this year.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Good.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
And then Martin.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
I liked her.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
I thought she was great.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
She's a crazy person.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
A lot of comics, a lot of funny people are
crazy people.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Yeah, but she's an extra. And I'm not going to
say why, because they're too close and they'll hunt me down.
Martin Hurley.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
I didn't even know he was on Saturday Night Live.
It says that he departed with Chloe Fineman. Martin Hurley.
Have departed from the show. I didn't know he was there.
Maybe he was a writer or something. Oh, he was
one of the guys from Please Don't Destroy. So like
the three guys that were there, he was the guy
with the glasses. Oh, I liked him.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Yeah. It was this guy.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
I didn't think I knew him.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
Oh, right. Right.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
I thought he had some funny stuff. yeah yeah the
please don't destroy was great yeah all.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Right anyway all right so sean you're a winner thanks

the match of the morning.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Real radio is on instagram at real radio 104.1 in
mount nora.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
It's a free event, free to attend. You got live music.
Naomi Bradshaw on the dot coms in Thompson Square performing
live on stage. You got college football. You got the
drone show. You got all kinds of cool stuff along
with MWO wrestling matches, five big matches, two title defenses.

(13:00):
Amber Nova will defend her title. Onyx the One and
Tuna Tim defending their title. Poppy D will be wrestling.
Angel and I will be bringing you the action as
the MWO announce team. Thank you to Mills Air for that.
And all of that is happening this coming Saturday. Event
starts at three. Bell time for wrestling is at four
o'clock and it is all free to attend. So join

(13:21):
us this Saturday. Say hi. Come on over to the
tent that we have set up, the Real Radio tent.
And if you'd like to help us and donate money
to the Carla K Cancer Screening Fund, that would be awesome.
We've bought a lot. We've gotten a lot of people
their screenings for cancer. We need to fill up the
coffers a little bit more now and pay for some more.
So if you can help us with that, you can
bid on the wrestling belt that Amber Nova has had

(13:45):
for several years now. We're auctioning that belt off, the
one that you see in all the pictures and stuff.
And it was around the waist of teal piper and
also hollyhood hayley jay uh well they've all signed it
and we're going to auction that off on saturday we
got other ways for you to kind of help us
with donations if you can so come by and say
hi oh i am going to have uh monster wrestle

(14:06):
no monster sunglasses and then also those slap bracelets that
say mwo i got those you know if you want
to donate a couple bucks and and take some of
those with you. That'll be cool. So all that is
on Saturday. Come by and say hi. What up? I'm
Russ with Angel and Ryan. Yes, Angel.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Let's say a cool thing about the slap bracelet also
can double as a koozie. Yeah, it's like it's a
koozie too. Yeah, I'm the one that wears it as
a bracelet. I guess not everybody else does. I was
going to say it's multifaceted.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Multifaceted.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Multiple functions.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
And I've got those glasses left over from... What do
we use those for? Oh, the poker tournament. Yeah, yeah.
I got 200 of them, and we only went through
like 100.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Doesn't it seem like that poker tournament was like months ago? Years, really.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I mean, I know you guys hate when I do this,
but it seems like this year has just flown by.
I mean, we are already... Almost done with September, if
you think about it.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Close to death.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
I know, that's what I think about.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
So close to death.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
And thanks to AI and robots, we might be closer
than you think. So we'll talk about that in a minute.
But we've got Sean Ryan, who has the.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Floor, correct? He does. He has the floor, thanks to
Corey at Core Flooring. has a huge selection of made-in-the-USA
waterproof laminate vinyl planks and wood flooring, all for you
to stand on, jump on, lay on. I don't know
what you do with your floors. Just do it with
Corey at Core Flooring. Plus, he has the best price guarantee,
meaning if you bring him a quote, he guarantees he
will beat it. And that's on top of, for Monster listeners,

(15:29):
you get 10% off all flooring installation, starting at just
$ 1 per square foot. And then Corey donates $ 50 to
the Carla K Cancer Screening Fund if you tell him
You are a monster listener, thus making you a hero adjacent.
So how nice is that? So check them out online
at coreflooringfl.com. And now, Sean, you have the floor.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Sean, congratulations, bro.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
I appreciate it, man.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
What up, monster?

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Yeah, I knew, you know, I had a feeling that
question might be difficult because it's, you know, from back
in 1965. But there was a movie that came out
a little more recent. I thought maybe you might have
gotten that. But that's okay. Ryan got it right for you,
so it's all good.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
Shout out to KOD, man. Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
You're welcome, buddy.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
I appreciate you, though, playing along and not Googling it
and trying. And, you know, the answer you gave wasn't
a bad answer.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
So we appreciate that. Go ahead. Oh, no, continue.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
No, you go ahead.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
No, the people that Google it, that takes the fun
out of it.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yeah, and then it makes all our listeners mad and
they start texting in. And so even if they didn't Google,
but it sounds like they are, we got to call
them on it because it gets everybody all crazy. Yeah,
I see, man.

Speaker 5 (16:38):
Keep them in check, man.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Sean, how long have you been listening to the show, buddy?

Speaker 5 (16:42):
So consistently, probably about six years. But I mean, I'm
born in Orlando, man. So everybody knows about the monsters, man.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Well, I appreciate that. Thank you so much. So for
the past six years, you've been constantly listening. We appreciate it.
What do you do for a living?

Speaker 5 (16:57):
So I drive semi trucks across the country.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
That's fascinating.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
I really think that's one of the things that I
would have liked to have done. But what's the upside
of traveling like that? And what's the downside for you, Sean?

Speaker 5 (17:11):
So the upside is because I love driving so much,
it doesn't really feel like I really work.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Like I just get.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
Up, just drive. That's nothing to me. You know, the
job where you work in an office that to me,
that's actual work. Driving a semi-truck is not– the only
downside is being away from home. If I could be
home every night, then it would be the greatest job ever.
That's the only downside. The job itself, I'm just driving,
listening to real radio on the iHeart app.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
It's nothing, man.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Famously, it's hard on relationships, right? You hear a lot
of guys that drive as hard. Because, you know, you're away.
Who knows what the wife's doing? Or you might get
in trouble yourself. Has that been difficult for you?

Speaker 5 (17:56):
The worst part. Yeah, well, when you meet women and
you tell them you're a truck driver, they automatically think
that I'm just, you know, they think I'm just going
all over, meeting women all.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Over the country.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Like any women I meet, as soon as I tell
them I'm a truck driver, they think I'm a player.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Right. And the lot lizards are real, right? Like there
are hookers at the truck stops.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
So for the most part, you're not going to see
that unless you go to– there's a few truck stops
that are notorious. Like there's one in Memphis.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
The Love's in Memphis. I don't even go there.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Not only– I.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Think that one– There's a lot of things– That particular
one ended up on a, on one of the HBO
shows that whatever the HBO show was that did like, uh, uh,
documented sex workers. Cause they did, there was an episode
that they did in, uh, New York city. I forget
the neighborhood in New York, but I think the place
that you're talking about, it was in one of those episodes, dude.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Yeah. Loves in Memphis.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
But the worst part about that loves is, is not
even the crime or the lot lizards. It's so crowded.
It's congested with trucks on both sides. It's impossible to
get in and out of. I avoid that truck stop
like the plague.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
I'm trying to imagine a truck stop lot lizard in
Memphis and what she looks like.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
It's not good. It's not good.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
To be honest, no disrespect, but they should be paying
me to sleep with them.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Yeah, I get you. I get you. So, Sean, so
I would think it's fun, like going to different states, though. And,
you know, you get to go to I don't know,
get to go to different states and get to see.
But you probably don't get a lot of chances to
do any sightseeing, right? Like you just go to a
you're going from one service station to another is basically
all you're.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Doing, right?

Speaker 5 (19:40):
So my mom thinks that I'm touring the whole country.
She'll look up a city and tell me what restaurants
I go to. They're like, that's not how this works. However, though,
I still get to see a lot of the country
that I never would have seen before, though. So for
the most part, you do pass through. But I've gotten
to see a lot of.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Cool things I never would have gotten to do.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
And I got a friend of mine who does it.
And I mean, everything he's telling me is correct. I mean,
you can make a lot of money by by if
you if you're working and you decide to just, you know,
work as much as possible, you can do pretty well.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
Right.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Oh, you can.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
You can. The worst part about being a trucker, though,
is all your friends and family think that you're loaded.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Right.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
And they ask you for money, and you've got to
be like, no. Because also the price of diesel is
up too, man, and that affects the goods and services,
so everything rolls downhill.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, I got a buddy that did it, and when
he would tell me what kind of money he was making,
I'm like, damn. I mean, it was crazy. But, you know,
you have to basically be away from your friends and
family for a long period of time.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
What's the furthest you've driven, Sean?

Speaker 5 (20:45):
I've driven from Miami to Seattle.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Okay, that is a damn, that's a drive.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Yeah. It's fun though.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
You get to see a lot of cool stuff.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
I guess so.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
What is it like the stuff that you're delivering? Does it,
is it one specific kind of industry or it runs
the gamut that you, you're delivering all kinds of things.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
So the way I look at before I became a
truck driver, I did Uber eats. And it's very similar
to Uber Eats in a way that you'll, we'll go
to like a Walmart warehouse or we'll go to a
Best Buy warehouse or you'll go to like a mom
and pop, you'll go to like a mom and pop spot.
It'd be like Jason is recycling and you'll, it is
anything random.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Gotcha. you you yeah you.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Got anything on your truck at any time hey so.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Let's say you're you're driving your truck and you're going
from orlando and you're going to to memphis or whatever
and you gotta spend a night in uh halfway through
georgia or whatever uh do you do you park the
truck and then go and then go okay i'm gonna
go out to eat somewhere or whatever and like get
an uber and go out to eat in the city
or the town or do you always just stay with
your truck.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Oh you gotta stay close to the truck yeah.

Speaker 5 (21:52):
Most of the time, you're going to stay with the truck.
Every now and then, I've ventured out. I had one
time where I went to a baseball game. Everything worked out,
and I was like, I'm going to go to a
random game. I love baseball, and I've never been to
the Braves stadium, so I got to go to True
West Park or True West Field where the Braves play.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Oh, that's cool.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
That was cool. For the most part, though, you stay
with it. I mean, you're going to be so tired
at the end of the day that you just want
to stay in the truck and watch YouTube on the iPad.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Sean, I don't know if you have social media or
how that looks like, but right now, there's a lot
of dudes that do what you do that make awesome
content out of it in the sense of, Just the
procedure and the process of like what your day is
and like what it is to go through a truck stop.

(22:40):
And like, you know, whether it's fueling up or some
of these nicer truck stops where it's basically almost you
have like a mini apartment almost in the sense of
the shower stall and all that kind of stuff. Is
that something that you're doing or is that not for
you just yet?

Speaker 5 (22:55):
No, no, I never got into that, but I do
watch it. There's this one dude named Larry Koff. I
want to say his last name is Cothran. And he's hilarious, man.
He's always making videos and stuff, and I'll watch his stuff. Me, myself,
I just work.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Okay, I was going to say, because if you're doing
those kinds of drives where you're going across country, just
some of the views that you could document and everything,
that could be cool to add on to what you're doing.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Hey, Sean, something I saw, I think it was CBS
Sunday Morning or one of those shows I watch, and
they had the It was the truck stop that was
the biggest truck stop in America.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Oh, Iowa 80. Yes.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
And at that, you can get your hair, if you
want to get your hair cut, you can do that.
They had a massage parlor if you wanted to get
a massage. If you want to get anything you want.
And one of the things they also had was like
a vet. So how many truckers have you met that
bring their dog with them? Because I was surprised.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
A lot.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Really? Yeah.

Speaker 7 (23:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Yeah. It's a big thing, man. I see dogs all
the time. One thing I will say, though, is fellow
truckers out there, if you got your dog with you,
don't let your dog roam around the damn lot with
no leash by himself.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
And I would think, Sean, I would think if you
had a dog with you, though, you'd have to stop
too many times for the dog to go to the
bathroom or or do you have to stop anyway?

Speaker 5 (24:17):
Well, a little bit about me personally, I don't think
I could do it because I feel like if you're
going to have a dog with you, you have the
responsibility of giving that dog the best life. I don't
think I could do that because I'm so focused on work.
But a lot of guys do it and have been
good companions. As long as you can manage it, it's
a good idea. But me personally, I won't do it

(24:37):
because I know I'll be a horrible– I'd be the
worst dog owner in the world, and PETA would cancel me.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Well, I had a friend of mine, and he had
an orangutan, and that orangutan would ride with him, and
the orangutan's name was Bear. So this guy, BJ, he
used to take this orangutan with him, and it was awesome.
It was funny, funny. They were hilarious.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Aren't they known for, like, ripping people's faces off?

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Oh, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
He just ride with them. He just ride with them.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Yeah, yeah. He was great.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Anyway, is there anything you'd like to plug and promote
and tell us about?

Speaker 5 (25:09):
No, man. Like, honestly, I listen to Monsters all the time,
and I never even thought I'd be on the air.
I will say this, though, to keep it cool. Back in,
I want to say 1999, I was nine years old.
I saw Jeff Howell perform at the House of Blues, man.
My parents took me to a Jeff Howell show. And
he performed Brown Eyed Girl. And I don't know if
this is something he does now, but at the time,

(25:31):
the shtick was everybody would yell, Jeff, you suck.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
No.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
So he's playing guitar and everybody yells.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Jeff, you suck. And it was like a thing. I've
never heard him do that. I'll never forget that. Mess
with him.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
I swear to God, man. The next time you see him.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
They were yelling, Jeff, you suck, in the middle of
the song.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
They... They yelled, Jeff, you suck, while he played.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
But it wasn't in a disrespectful way.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
It was like part of the show. He took it
as a part of the show.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
What happened to this guy?

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Not only did he always used to do that. This
is a true story.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
He still does it.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
So that's during Brown Eyed Girl. But he also does,
I don't know if it was Brown Eyed Girl. I
think he did it during Sweet Caroline. And so Neil
Diamond was in town doing his show and he did
Sweet Caroline. And there were a bunch of people that
were yelling, Jeff, you suck.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
To Neil Diamond. Neil Diamond had no idea. What happened
to this caller? It happened to my wife. My wife
had never seen Jeff Howell before. I take her out
to Tibby's to go see Jeff Howell. I'm just there
to goof off and hang out. My wife, watching Jeff
Howell like a hawk, thinks it's the funniest thing ever. Yeah, yeah.
And then she saw him again. She's like, oh, he
just does that.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
First thing, yeah, he's been doing that for years. Well, listen,
so you're a legacy listener then. You've been around since
you were nine years old, so that counts as a legacy.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
Oh, man.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
My uncle had a local band back in the early
2000s named Big Bad Willie and Deborah Roberts, who's on
Jim Colbert. She used to do a show back in
the day where they would interview local bands. His band
was on her show.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
That is awesome, buddy. Well, listen, it's been a pleasure
getting to know you, Sean.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Good luck.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
When's the next time you go out? When do you
drive again?

Speaker 5 (27:12):
I'm going to hit the road on Wednesday. I'll probably
be gone for a month. And then usually when I
come home, I take like a week off.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
All right, man. Well, take us with you.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
Be safe, brother.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Take us with you on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (27:22):

Speaker 2 (27:23):

plays what he wants. Nobody tells him what to play.
If you slip $ 100, he'll play whatever you want. I
shouldn't say that out loud, right? Hey, have you been
doing a lot of DJing?

Speaker 4 (30:50):
Yeah, I actually got two events coming up in Leesburg.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
Yeah, so I'll be doing their Fiesta in the Plaza
and their Night Out, and actually the 5K Run.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
I'm DJing that, too.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Oh, yeah. What's the 5K Run, Ryan? I know I
saw you were going to try.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
To do it. Flapjack 5K, and that's going to be
going down on... October the 15th. Oh, wow.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Have you been training for the 5K?

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Of course I have.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
Excuse me. Let me correct that. The race day for
the third annual Flapjack 5K is November the 14th. Registration
is ongoing right now. Get tickets at roradio.fm backslash Flapjack. Yeah, Flapjack.
And it's going to be Ryan Holmes. You and him
are in Ross Pageta racing head-to-head in the 5K?

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Yeah, I guess that is what is happening. You're racing Ross? Yeah,
and he's fast. He's thin. Well, he's gained some baby weight.
He's gained some baby weight. But you're not a runner.
You don't run. What do you mean I'm not a runner?
It's the only sport I ever actually did.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
I've talked about this a lot. The only sport I
did was track. I guess cheerleading is a sport, too.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
You did cheerleading is what I remember, yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
I'm an athlete.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Really?

Speaker 4 (32:07):
I mean, you kind of got yourself in a pickle.
No one would have ever really challenged you on the
fact that you were, you know, you ran track.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
And now you got to run. Now you got to
run against Ross. Now it's a race.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
I'm pretty sure my middle school training will kick in.
Much like Russ thinks he can wrestle anybody at any
given time right now in his life, at his age. Yeah.
I feel like I could run. I could run.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
5K.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
You even know how far a 5k is five k's
yeah five of them and you longer than a forecast
when's the last time you actually ran last time i
actually ran yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
We like put on my shoes i'm gonna go run
and run a mile oh like on purpose yeah on purpose.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Oh damn you're gonna hurt yourself it's been a minute
you're gonna how many.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Laps do you think you could run around the iheart
media compound.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
Several, at least. You know, like, I'm not worried about...
It's not the... I can run. That's not a problem.
When you say several, do you think, Russ, do you
think he could run more than 10? I'm not trying
to win the 5K, but can I complete a 5K? Well, no.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
It sounds to me like you're racing against Ross.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Yeah, you're racing Ross. This is a heads-up race.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
This sounds to me like you're going to embarrass the monsters.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Like, how are you going to lose to Ross? I...
I am far more athletic than Ross Padgett right now.
This is just a fact of the matter. He's got
a baby. I don't know if you've seen that guy lately.
He went on the Jim Colbert show the other day,
fully frazzled. And he said he hadn't showered in like
days because he's got a baby. I am going to

(33:34):
the gym. I have a personal trainer. I have been
actually working out. And I was at one point a
Piedmont Lakes middle school track star.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
So for the Flapjack 5K that is taking place in Leesburg,
it's their third one, I will crush it, no problem.
Not even sort of worried.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
I get the feeling that you're going to get cooked.
I know one sport already he'd beat you at, which
is golf. Well, yeah, he's an amazing golfer. Okay, and
he's thinner than you, so he looks more like a runner. Like,
you're a little thicker, you know? I worked out with
you the other day. I saw you. You're a little thicker.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
I was going on slow mode when we were working out. Oh,
were you really? So I was.
Like, I've been working. I've been with a trainer for.

Speaker 5 (34:14):
Over a year.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Yeah, but how much of your training is, like, running?
I do no running. But I do haven't. I've been
building up my endurance because we do it a lot
of supersets. So, like, the whole time I'm going for
that full hour. So, like, I am getting endurance.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Okay, you know the trick with setting or the trick
with building your endurance with running, you have to run.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
No, you don't. Yeah, you do. That's a lot of
big misnomers. I don't like running as an exercise. I've
talked about wanting to join a run club, but then
I found out it was full of sluts. But running
is very bad for your knees overall. It's not great
for you. I'd rather cycle or row.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
For some people, you're right.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
For everybody.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
I don't know about all that.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
I have friends that ran and ran all through college
and did that, and now they have to wear knee braces.
It's a whole thing. So you have to be careful
with running. So I've just always kind of avoided it
because I would see my 25-year-old friends wear leg braces
because they couldn't stop running. Were you given all the
details with this 5K? Are you aware? I know that
there's flapjacks and there's running. That's what I know, and
it's in Leesburg. It's in Leesburg. That's what I know.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
And you're racing Ross Padgett, or you just want to
get through it?

Speaker 3 (35:24):
I would like to be able to get through it
without jogging.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Okay, so you're not saying right here you can beat Ross. Sure,
hands down. If I wanted to, if you want to
make it a thing. Well, because, Russ, they're promoting it
as a thing. Whether you're Team Ryan or Team Ross,
you can run. Right, but it's the team that wins.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
So, like, if you're on my team and you come
out first place, that's a win for Team Ryan. That's
kind of not what they're saying here. That's what I'm
saying right now. All right.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
I mean, that might be the arrangement between the two
of you. I mean, that might be the arrangement with
everyone else that registers.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Here's what I learned, though.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
We can register. If we want to register Team Ross,
we can. Seems like we have that option. You can't
go Team Ross. That's a Colbert show. But, you know, Ross,
he's one of the Monster Comics of the Year. You know,
we like Ross. I mean, he's a winner. He's a winner.
And he just looks like.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
He's... I wasn't fired.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
Whoa, whoa. Not out there. What was that? He didn't
do anything.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
I was scorched earth is what that was.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
What are you doing?

Speaker 2 (36:30):
And I'll be honest, I appreciate the joke.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
But.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
He just looks like more of a runner. You look
at some people, and that's a runner, right? And then
you look at some other people, and you're like, well,
that's more of a cheerleader or a scuba diver.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Which is an athlete. Which is an athlete. Okay.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
But just as far as 5K running, I don't.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Think you can... I ain't worried about running. But I
did learn... I've never done really 5Ks or any kind
of running events. I see them all the time at
Winter Park, and I... What I learned was there's two
versions of a 5K. There's the people that are like, okay, three.
There's one people that are trying to win, right? And
they're going hard in the paint.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
And then there's people that are going to run the
whole thing because they want to be able to do it.
And then there's a third group, which I thought it
would just be like this, which is just the lollygaggers.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
You're walking. I was actually going to build myself a
bar around myself. Yeah. And have drinks. You could come
up to my walking bar. So be on team Ryan
Holmes lollygaggers.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
We're going to gag them lollies. The lollygaggers.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Okay. The Ryan's team or the lollygaggers. I already got
people saying they want to be on team Ryan. Yeah,
you want to be on my team.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
And lollygag. Ross is going to be tired. He's got
a baby. He's so exhausted all the time. He's too
busy writing. He's also writing shows and performing them. Look,
this is all I got. Yeah, right, right, right, right.
So you can lollygag and just get through this is
your idea. Somebody's texting and says, I think Ross runs
like three or four times a week. It's his thing.

(37:54):
I don't know. Maybe it is. Yeah, that has been texted.
I'm fast, boy. Fast as F. I'll race anybody in
this parking lot. You guys want to go? How do
you get yourselves in these situations? Because I know me.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
Yeah, but you're always wrong.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
I know me. I know me. I'm fast, though.

Speaker 5 (38:14):
I'm 6'4.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
I'm built like a runner. Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
I might have a little bit of a belly right now.
I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Look, I'm all in. I appreciate the delusion. I'm in.
I mean, I'm not trying to be mean, okay? But
you even have admitted from the first day I met
you that your legs are not your strong suit. I
learned that the other day when we worked out.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
No, they're not muscly. And you couldn't even squeeze the
little squeezy thing. You just got a weird groin. You
got a weird groin. I don't know what's up with
your groin. You got a weird groin. It's not built
for running. It's built for muscle. My legs are built
for speed.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
You think so?

Speaker 3 (38:51):
Yeah, that's why I've never liked my legs because they've
always been long and thin and quick and fast. Like
a gazelle.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
So with this race, is this like a fundraising thing?
Can we bet on this or what?

Speaker 3 (39:05):
Uh i mean we can't i can throw some money
at this okay i didn't i didn't know i was
doing this i can there's a version of i can
i can take this seriously okay all right so 5k
ain't even worried about it.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Let me think about it for a little bit uh
so if you beat ross we'll get more information but
i wanted a lollygag now you guys kind of taking
the fun out of it for me i was literally
building a wearable bar that I could go around.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
And hang out with.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
You set down your parameters. You say what it's going
to be. So you're going to do a lollygag. The
way it was pitched to me was like, I have
a team, he has a team, and the team can win.

Speaker 5 (39:36):
Right?

Speaker 3 (39:37):
It wasn't just me versus him straight up. Well, you know, Christy,
she does all those races. I'm there to have a
good time. I'm there for a good time, not a
long time. All right.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Christy and Reese, they can be on your team. They
run all the time.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
I'll probably go to Ross. Go to Ross. Everybody likes Ross.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Shop at Ross. Ross is so fun. All right, we
got to take a break. We'll come back. It's time
for Angel to bring you Monster Sports. You're listening to
the Monster of the Morning.
