thought yesterday after and and and it's terrible. It's horrible.
We all, I know, three of us, I can speak
for us. We all love Sabrina. Uh And she's just
a sweet, really nice person, funny, really funny, super talented.
And I agree with you guys, makes no sense. But
uh and I thought to myself, well, you know, I
bet you Ryan shows up on time tomorrow. I mean,

you know they're firing people. I mean, I bet you
hit me in here five minutes for the show. So Nope,
didn't affect you one way or the other.

there's always a lot of factors that nothing that's her fault.

anything bad or wrong. But I think there's always a
lot of factors that a lot of people don't know
about and this stuff. But but man, here's the thing.
Sabrina is so talented. I know she'll find something, right.

I don't know if it'll be in radio, but she'll
find something as talented as she is, for sure, you
know what I mean. And uh, and you know, obviously
we're gonna miss her.

you know, she's down. If you love her, guy to
send her some love and everything. But I think that's
one of those comments that we say to ourselves because
and I got caught up in it as well.

What I think, because I'm a believer and I believe
the talent will find its way, and I think she
is talented enough that that you can't find another Sabrina.
So I my personally Bubba, yeah, yeah, it's gone conclusion,
didn't write anything that was a very talented man. He
was talented, but he had a lot of issues. He

had a lot of product. And then Sabrina doesn't have
those issues. Sabrina doesn't have the negativity. There's no, there's no,
there's fine. I don't know everything about everything that's going on,
but I know that from what I've seen, there's no
real legitimate reason, Like she never did anything wrong in here.

She's funny. On the air, Ryan is kind of saying,
is that and Bubba had issues. I'm saying, we know
he a brought a Bubba. Bubba had a lot of issues.

And you know when it comes when it comes right
down to it, you know, Uh, we are just numbers
on a chart. It's not someone here that cares about
us that's making these decisions.

Yeah, these decisions are being made completely outside out of
this market they're made with with impunity. They don't care
to sit here and think that this they care, then
that would mean that they would have had a conversation.

I do understand that, but I do believe that we
don't know everything, and I do believe that that.

have been protected in other ways. But you know, it is,

that care about They care about the people that are
making the money. They care about the people that are

not trying to go debate you on it. Yeah, you're safe,
Jimmy Sha safe, Sean safe of course because you guys
are in that chair. None of the staffs are safe.

I will say this. I know for a fact that

the last round, I was like, okay, because we walk
around here, I'm like, there's literally.

No one else they can get rid of. Yeah, well
already on a skeleton crew, Sobrina would be the last
one I would have thought of. Yeh, yeah, agreed.

It's pretty wacky.

And I don't know, it's just I got a lot
of messages yesterday being like I think you got fired.

And why do you know this that I don't know

And so they stressed it stressed me out of base.

The fan base is spinning out of control. The absolutely
spinning out of control. They are all over their message boards.
Their feelings are hurt. There's a connection was loved. Yeah,
there's a connection that they make with us, and there
are and and then they're just grasping at straws looking
for answers, trying to figure this all out because it
doesn't if it doesn't make sense to us, it makes
even less sense to them, you know. And like for example,

again because we already got the text already. Look, Jimmy
is sick. He's like genuinely sick, sick. He wouldn't need
to be sick. Yeah, he just he came off with
Jackson vacation. Yeah, he came off a cruise and I
joked around and said he got the norm wall virus
or whatever. It's basically the equivalent of that. Yeah, the
timing of it could not be worse. But so there's

that confusion going on with that show because you know,
there was a bunch of us. Yeah, there's supposed to
be a guest producers and for Jack and everything. So
they're spinning out of control out of that. No one's
talking to them addressing that directly.

Then there's the the again and there's again there's three
friends of mine that got fired in this building this
past week. JJ from Mega he got Lego as well, right,
and then one of the executives got leg go. So
you know, it's a it's a it's across the board
and so yeah, so that's why you know, our names
were throwing around all over the place you and I. Yeah,

and then people were concerned.

Really really yeah, I appreciate that. But the other the
other side of that is like and I have to remember,
like don't focus on the negative stuff, right, Like, so
there's a lot of people saying, like a lot of
really nice stuff about us, which is which is always
good to hear, but like it's my it's my own
personal problem. I'll read a hundred nice ones and like
one negative one will throw me guilty.

Did somebody say, why didn't you get rid of Bryan
and and not Serena?

Oh yeah, it's always like this. It's like three of
the same people.

You can't listen to this stuff. Here's here's what here's
what I will say. I don't believe. And this is Look,
everybody has their own path, everybody has their own key
to success. Everybody has their own way they do things.
Everybody's different, especially the host of the show. Really, I'm
just gonna tell you right now, I don't think it
helps at all to be contentious with the company you
work for.

I don't I think you and I think it's bad
for your for you, I think it's bad for the
people that work for you, if you're if you're if
you're contentious with your with with the company that pays
you to do a job. I don't think that saves you,
and I don't think it saves your staff.

So I don't think that's a good idea. That's just
my thoughts, that's what I think. And I think that
puts you in a.

Bad light, and I think it puts everyone that works
for you in a bad light. So I you know
you're never gonna hear me say a bad word. Uh Okay.
I did bitch about the promotions off, but I was
right and I did. But this company has treated me wonderful,
I mean goddamn wonderful for over thirty some odd years.
But yeah, I'm a I'm an ask kisser, and yeah

I do exactly what they want me to do.

Down the hallway and they treat me with freaking respect
and they and they love me right, and they love
the people I work that work, and they love the
people I want working with me. That's what they love.

anyone in this building, right, yeah, physically in this building. No,
you're absolutely right, Ryan. They they genuinely appointed us in,
you know, great opportunities and then afforded all that. When
I when I was making that comment earlier, I'm talking
about outside of this stricture of this physical building.

They're like, listen, we got to make some cuts.

It's not just like, hey, let's pick the nicest person.

And listen, I have got I've had two members of
this staff, of my staff monsters in the morning that
have been fired. And both of them, to be honest
with you, when because they had to get rid of somebody.
Both of them deserved it and they made it or
they made it their own fault. It was their own fault,
you know. Bubba it was his own fault. Uh, And
Carlos it was his own fault. He had done things

that you guys don't know, pissed everybody off around here.
And same thing with Bubba. He had done things and
pissed everybody off. So, uh, something about pickle boy, what
do you do? He didn't do anything.

I think the ecstasy on the radio is probably yeah.

I think once again, ecstasy on the radio probably pretty bad.

So, like I'm not gonna I am not happy that
they got rid of Sabrina. I think it's horrible. She's
a wonderful, wonderful person and shouldn't have happened to her,
of all people whatever. But I think there's a lot
of stuff that goes on that everyone's not looking at
that sometimes makes those choices unfortunate.

Yeah, But you can also like be in your position
and you're very successful and whatnot, but you can recognize,
you know, the brutality of the industry and the bodies
that have dropped around you over thirty two years.

Yeah, that's that was a wonderful guy that shouldn't have
always fun. I don't know what the deal was. I
don't know, you know, I don't know why and the
what for and all that kind of stuff, you know,

It is all of our engineers. It's brutal way they
do it for on air people. It's like, hey, we.

Got a meeting right after the show, come on, let

had this this same similar experience. I've done that when
I was in banking, had the same kind of thing
when you know, other banks buy you out, this that
kind of thing, and you wake up that day you're
you're in Denver, Colorado working on a project, and you've
just been informed that uh you know, hey, yeah you're done.

this flight, uh check out at the hotel by eleven.

Yeah, it's crazy though.

I mean, like we we talked about us, we care
about us, but there was like there's been a lot
of layups going on around us, like like Disney laid
off a thousand people yesterday as well. The other companies
have been doing it. It's like, yeah, where we're at
right now, guys.

It's I don't know, but uh, I see a lot
of people they're like they're like, oh, I'm gonna stop
listening now because and it's like the best thing you
can do if you still like the people is follow her.

her the support and the love that for sure, for
sure do that and you know she look, we've done

all you make up the stories in your head because

hundred percent of the information, so you start speculating. And now,

because of social media, you can just speculate wildly and tag.

Well, I found out from Angel when I walked out.

I told both of you. So who ran the board yesterday?

all right, because I didn't see any anywhere going on.

I was about to go over to Angel's house yesterday
and drink in his front yard.

Dude, I would have joined you. We could have sat
there just tipping him back.

you what we know. We know basically nothing. I mean, like, uh,
you know, we basically know nothing about it. We just
found out yesterday. Uh. I hate to see her go.
I can tell you from the the word. You know,
from being here and working here every day, I've never
heard anybody say negative word about Sabrina.

Everybody loves her. She was funny, she was sweet, she
was kind.

It sucks, but I personally believe and I know I
understand what Angels saying it does.

But as talented as she is, yeah, I believe she'll
find something rather quickly. But I could be wrong. It's
a you know, it's a it's a crazy world out there,

Angel said something that struck man. He's right, and that is, uh,
you know this radio station, everybody you know listens. It's
like a family, right, like you listen to real radio
as part of the family. And I was gonna do
a segment and try to move on, but but I
probably not a good idea because you know, Sean and
them talked about it, and then afterwards, by the way,
the Colbert shows on Best of again because Jimmy's sick,

so then audience couldn't you know, talk about.

It or hear what they wanted to hear or whatever,
and uh, and listen, that's what you're I mean, if
you go on.

My biggest takeaway of all of this in the last
twenty four to forty eight hours is that the listeners
feel like they're not being as as much as we
can or whatever. They're not being heard, that's not being
communicated to them. They feel on the outside looking in,
and they do make a connection with us for us.

One hundred percent. And I did have people yesterday. Are
you guys all safe? Yeah, we're good. Everything's good here.
You know, that's fine. And I'm reading the texting service
a lot of people texting about this because it.

They love Sabrina. I mean, she you know that there's
I've never heard anybody say.

Negati order about Sabrina, So I get that some people
asking questions about a couple of things. I said, let
me just say this again and make it as clear
as possible. This is just how I feel. And if
you don't like how I feel, I don't care. But
here's what I feel in my lifetime. And I've been
doing radio now for thirty three some odd years and
goddamn successful and been number one every you know, the

entire not the entire time, but every year I've always
been number one. I know what I'm doing when it
comes to this. Right, in my estimation, there's only two
people that I feel have the clout and the ability
and uh and should ever bashed their own car company
as far as the bit they do on the air.
One was Jim Phillips. He had it, he had the clout,
he had the ability, and no one's gonna mess with him.

And Howard Stern, that's it. I don't have that. I'm
you're not gonna hear me getting on here bashing my
own company that I work for. I don't have that
kind of cloud. I'm aware of that. I know that,
you know, and I don't, and I don't think anyone does.
And I don't think it's a good idea. And I
don't think it protects your staff when you do it.
So I personally don't think that's a good idea. That's
just how I feel about it. That's that's my opinion.

And Jim Phillips could do it because he was God
damn Jim Phillips, and he had cloud and he had
the respect of everybody around here.

I have what I've got because we've been super super successful,
and I'm kind of to myself and whatever. Howard Stern
of course had it, and he was He even got
fired from places, you know when he did it.

and talk to us. And people have felt that way.

am local celebrity hero scuba diver Mott, fashion model Ryans Holes,
but like they have like a parasocial relationship with their
audience where I feel like we're like in this community,
we are a local radio, Like we we are your friends.

So I get the hurt and pain that people are
actually feeling from whenever something like this happens.

able to do that. But he was basically, you know, challenge.

And it was argument about FCC stuff and some other
things and everything, and yeah.

it or not me at one point when we were
syndicated in a bunch of different places and we were
on down in West Palm Beach.

They changed the name of a radio station because we
were coming on there to Real Radio ZZR. It was
something else before that, but they changed it to Real
Radio w ZZR, and we were on down there and

And so we were doing some show and.

Something happened where the love doctors were complaining about us,
uh dogging them, but they were allowed to dog us,
and I was all mad about it.

So I started, I got all.

Big headed and full of myself, and we'll pull the
plug then if you're not gonna let us pick on
you guys, and you just pull the plug, take us
off the radio stating, because I thought there's no way
they do that. A week later they pulled us off.
So that's when Russe learned that, hey, you don't have
And I learned if I thought I'd learned it from
Jim Phillips, right, well Phillips can do it, I'll do it.
And that's where Russe learned he didn't have that kind

of clout. I yelled, pulled the plug, and guess what
they did five days later, pulled the damn plug. So
that's why you don't see me doing that anymore. Learn
the lesson the hard way. And and I'm not gonna
bite a hand. It feeds me and and and and
dog management. I want them to love us. I want
us to make the most money for him. I want
us to have the most live reads. I want us

but but they have a they have a really good

premise that I love. And this was not my idea.
This was the one guy's idea. Ryan from I forget
where he's from. Uh, but they said, Ryan from Vegas
is the guy we got to have on the air.
And like Ryan from Vegas, everybody knows y Ryan from Vegas.

Is what we have on the air. So okay, let
me without giving it the whole thing.

There's there's a thing that came up and and and
I didn't agree with it, and I talked to everyone
around here.

They all said that sounded crazy.

And and and because it was crazy, right, So instead
of doing what right, Ray Trendley said, you say, I
just opened with that, And I just said, hey, guys,
I just got to tell you I've talked to everybody
I know about You're the one concern that I heard
last week, and nobody agrees that that's a problem that
I've ever met. And I and and and one of
you Ryans might be the person that that you know,

brought it up. And I got to tell you you're
the one we should be concerned about now.

And then and then.

I saw all the Ryans laughing, except for one and
they were all, now.

All the other Ryans are a little passive, and they
didn't want to tell this guy that, hey, that's really
nothing to be concerned about. I did it, and and
it broke the ice, and it got us out there
and and and it was squashed, and so that.

Whole thing is now not anything to worry an issue. Yeah,
it's not a non issue, because I pointed out how
ridiculous it was a non issue from the very get go.

Yeah, and his concern was like that, that's weird you
would have that concern. And I just opened up with
it and just bashed it right away because I didn't
want to waste any time. And uh, and all the
other Ryans laughed and said.

Yeah, you know, like that is crazy.

That is crazy.

So here's something that one of the Ryans came up with,
and I love this idea and said, listen, you know.
One of the things that has been great is that
all these meetups that we have, there's always two or
three people that show up and.

They're like, Hey, it's a surprise party.

Your name, your name is Ryan, and h surprise, you're
at the meeting of the Ryans, and it's always like
a great gimmick and the videotape and the guy comes
in and hey, surprise, You're at a Ryan surprise party.
And everyone here his name is Ran and it's always
like a funny thing. And so what they want to
do is make this one, uh, to make it so

because all the other ones only guys name men or
women named Ryan were invited. Now this one is gonna
be one of the first ones where like everybody's invited.
And I said, you need to make it that way.
And I use you as an example. Ryan, I said,
I got a guy on the show. His name is Ryan.
He's you know, he's uh, you know, that's his big
But he is not going to go to an event
without his wife.

He ain't gonna do it. I don't care if it's
to break a record or whatever.

He loves his wife. He's not gonna go unless his
wife come.

So I think there's a lot of guys like that
that would go. But they want to bring their spouse,
they want to bring a family, they want to bring
a flag of their and uh.

And they all agreed on it.

I'm not going to go to a party with a
bunch of dudes without my wife.

Yeah yeah, And I said, listen, you need to open
it up so you know they can you know, obviously
to break the record. They got to prove that their
name is Ryan. But they should be able to bring
their spouse. It can't just be a bunch of dudes uh.

And for the first time they agreed to that. So
this they thought that was a good idea. And then
make it a surprise party and to try to see
if we can get you know, have any surprise ryans
and videotape it and film it and whatever.

I think that's a great idea on Friday night.

Uh, they want to do and I said, I got
the perfect Ryan to do it. They want to do
and we're probably gonna go to a lexir. I'm just

Alexur yet, but this is how it is in my head.
They want to do a karaoke night on Thursday night.
Oh yeah, And I said, our Ryan Holmes can host
that and that would be awesome. So Ryan, Thursday night

to get a really good DJ to for the second night,

you know they'd done DJ stuff there before. Yeah, yeah,
And I said a guy on the show would be
perfect for that. And so they were open to have
Angel Boom because I said, he's voted the best DJ
in downtown Orlando.

I didn't mention the banner, but they loved that idea.

so we have some of the plan for every all
three of the days. They loved the idea of this
time allowing spouses and other people to come, and that

and it actually turned out very well, but it started
off it started off rough a little bit because I

just went right for the problem and said, hey, man,
that's just crazy and who and I don't know if
the guy that was concerned about that is here, And
turned out he was right right on my screen and
he explained a little bit, you know, but nobody agreed
with him. And it's not a it's not an issue anymore.

Well, you know, here's what I thought. Here's what I
thought yesterday after and and and it's terrible. It's horrible.
We all, I know, three of us, I can speak
for us. We all love Sabrina. Uh And she's just
a sweet, really nice person, funny, really funny, super talented.
And I agree with you guys, makes no sense. But
uh and I thought to myself, well, you know, I
bet you Ryan shows up on time tomorrow. I mean,

you know they're firing people. I mean, I bet you
hit me in here five minutes for the show. So Nope,
didn't affect you one way or the other.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
No matter, you're here too. Minus I am a number
on an ex sal spreadsheet.

I don't believe that.

I don't believe that, but I think, uh, I think
there's always a lot of factors that nothing that's her fault.
Though I don't believe anything. I don't think Sabrina did
anything bad or wrong. But I think there's always a
lot of factors that a lot of people don't know
about and this stuff. But but man, here's the thing.
Sabrina is so talented. I know she'll find something, right.

I don't know if it'll be in radio, but she'll
find something as talented as she is, for sure, you
know what I mean. And uh, and you know, obviously
we're gonna miss her.

I think that's something that we say to make ourselves
feel good.

Yeah, I don't think that's that's that's a that's not
a foregone conclusion, especially in today's climate and today, especially
in today's job market, especially if.

Is your chosen field and this is the thing that
you want to do, right, yeah, she might not automatically
find something in radio or or say entertainment, or say
comedy or let's say like any of those things.

So you know, I talked to her briefly yesterday. She's
you know, she's down. If you love her, guy to
send her some love and everything. But I think that's
one of those comments that we say to ourselves because
and I got caught up in it as well.

What I think, because I'm a believer and I believe
the talent will find its way, and I think she
is talented enough that that you can't find another Sabrina.
So I my personally Bubba, yeah, yeah, it's gone conclusion,
didn't write anything that was a very talented man. He
was talented, but he had a lot of issues. He

had a lot of product. And then Sabrina doesn't have
those issues. Sabrina doesn't have the negativity. There's no, there's no,
there's fine. I don't know everything about everything that's going on,
but I know that from what I've seen, there's no
real legitimate reason, Like she never did anything wrong in here.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
She's funny. On the air, Ryan is kind of saying,
is that and Bubba had issues. I'm saying, we know
he a brought a Bubba. Bubba had a lot of issues.
Speaker 7 (06:47):
And you know when it comes when it comes right
down to it, you know, Uh, we are just numbers
on a chart. It's not someone here that cares about
us that's making these decisions.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
That's not even Big Boss Judy.
Speaker 7 (06:57):
Yeah, these decisions are being made completely outside out of
this market they're made with with impunity. They don't care
to sit here and think that this they care, then
that would mean that they would have had a conversation.

They don't. They're trying to hit a number on a spreadsheet. Yeah.

I do understand that, but I do believe that we
don't know everything, and I do believe that that.

I have thought some beliefs that think that she could
have been protected in other ways. But you know, it is,
it is what it is, and there are certain people
that care about They care about the people that are
making the money. They care about the people that are
that are you know, driving the bus. They care about
the people that that you know, make make their money.

Okay, I'm not it's not an up for argument. I'm
not trying to go debate you on it. Yeah, you're safe,
Jimmy Sha safe, Sean safe of course because you guys
are in that chair. None of the staffs are safe.

I will say this. I know for a fact that
they would not get rid you or or Ryan. Uh.

go around right now, nobody's being consulted on a local level.

Yeah, it's crazy though, Like I remember like that after
the last round, I was like, okay, because we walk
around here, I'm like, there's literally.

No one else they can get rid of. Yeah, well
already on a skeleton crew, Sobrina would be the last
one I would have thought of. Yeh, yeah, agreed.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
It's pretty wacky.

And I don't know, it's just I got a lot
of messages yesterday being like I think you got fired.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
I'm like, who are you?

And why do you know this that I don't know
if it was one message, it was thirty really yeah,
And so they stressed it stressed me out of base.
Speaker 7 (08:49):
The fan base is spinning out of control. The absolutely
spinning out of control. They are all over their message boards.
Their feelings are hurt. There's a connection was loved. Yeah,
there's a connection that they make with us, and there
are and and then they're just grasping at straws looking
for answers, trying to figure this all out because it
doesn't if it doesn't make sense to us, it makes
even less sense to them, you know. And like for example,

again because we already got the text already. Look, Jimmy
is sick. He's like genuinely sick, sick. He wouldn't need
to be sick. Yeah, he just he came off with
Jackson vacation. Yeah, he came off a cruise and I
joked around and said he got the norm wall virus
or whatever. It's basically the equivalent of that. Yeah, the
timing of it could not be worse. But so there's

that confusion going on with that show because you know,
there was a bunch of us. Yeah, there's supposed to
be a guest producers and for Jack and everything. So
they're spinning out of control out of that. No one's
talking to them addressing that directly.

Then there's the the again and there's again there's three
friends of mine that got fired in this building this
past week. JJ from Mega he got Lego as well, right,
and then one of the executives got leg go. So
you know, it's a it's a it's across the board
and so yeah, so that's why you know, our names
were throwing around all over the place you and I. Yeah,

and then people were concerned.
Speaker 6 (10:03):
Really really yeah, I appreciate that. But the other the
other side of that is like and I have to remember,
like don't focus on the negative stuff, right, Like, so
there's a lot of people saying, like a lot of
really nice stuff about us, which is which is always
good to hear, but like it's my it's my own
personal problem. I'll read a hundred nice ones and like
one negative one will throw me guilty.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Did somebody say, why didn't you get rid of Bryan
and and not Serena?
Speaker 6 (10:28):
Oh yeah, it's always like this. It's like three of
the same people.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
You can't listen to this stuff. Here's here's what here's
what I will say. I don't believe. And this is Look,
everybody has their own path, everybody has their own key
to success. Everybody has their own way they do things.
Everybody's different, especially the host of the show. Really, I'm
just gonna tell you right now, I don't think it
helps at all to be contentious with the company you
work for.

I don't I think you and I think it's bad
for your for you, I think it's bad for the
people that work for you, if you're if you're if
you're contentious with your with with the company that pays
you to do a job. I don't think that saves you,
and I don't think it saves your staff.

So I don't think that's a good idea. That's just
my thoughts, that's what I think. And I think that
puts you in a.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Bad light, and I think it puts everyone that works
for you in a bad light. So I you know
you're never gonna hear me say a bad word. Uh Okay.
I did bitch about the promotions off, but I was
right and I did. But this company has treated me wonderful,
I mean goddamn wonderful for over thirty some odd years.
But yeah, I'm a I'm an ask kisser, and yeah

I do exactly what they want me to do.

And that's that's the way.

Down the hallway and they treat me with freaking respect
and they and they love me right, and they love
the people I work that work, and they love the
people I want working with me. That's what they love.
They're like rus Russ will be happy if you get
that there. You know that happens here.

That's there's a lot of that.

Well, I only know here here, and the people who
are here here care, yeah, right, like your ricks, your Judy,
like Jack, like the people in this building. They do
care about what we're doing and what everybody on airs.

When I say what I said, I'm not talking about
anyone in this building, right, yeah, physically in this building. No,
you're absolutely right, Ryan. They they genuinely appointed us in,
you know, great opportunities and then afforded all that. When
I when I was making that comment earlier, I'm talking
about outside of this stricture of this physical building.

Well, here's what happened.

They're like, listen, we got to make some cuts.

Where do we make cuts? You like?

And they go and they look and they're like, oh,
this person, that person, Well, okay, what's gonna happen if
we get rid of this person, Well this this guy
will be upset, Well this one will be oh they well,
they won't be upset.

They won't care. There's a lot of that goes on.

It's not just like, hey, let's pick the nicest person.

We can think of. That's not the way it works.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
And listen, I have got I've had two members of
this staff, of my staff monsters in the morning that
have been fired. And both of them, to be honest
with you, when because they had to get rid of somebody.
Both of them deserved it and they made it or
they made it their own fault. It was their own fault,
you know. Bubba it was his own fault. Uh, And
Carlos it was his own fault. He had done things

that you guys don't know, pissed everybody off around here.
And same thing with Bubba. He had done things and
pissed everybody off. So, uh, something about pickle boy, what
do you do? He didn't do anything.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
I think the ecstasy on the radio is probably yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
I think once again, ecstasy on the radio probably pretty bad.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yeah, you know.

So, like I'm not gonna I am not happy that
they got rid of Sabrina. I think it's horrible. She's
a wonderful, wonderful person and shouldn't have happened to her,
of all people whatever. But I think there's a lot
of stuff that goes on that everyone's not looking at
that sometimes makes those choices unfortunate.
Speaker 6 (13:37):
Yeah, But you can also like be in your position
and you're very successful and whatnot, but you can recognize,
you know, the brutality of the industry and the bodies
that have dropped around you over thirty two years.

Yeah, that's that was a wonderful guy that shouldn't have
always fun. I don't know what the deal was. I
don't know, you know, I don't know why and the
what for and all that kind of stuff, you know,
But but there are people and listen and.

It is all of our engineers. It's brutal way they
do it for on air people. It's like, hey, we.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
Got a meeting right after the show, come on, let
me talk to you.

You know, you do a whole show and it could
be a great show.

It could be the best show. It could be a
best of show.

So uh yeah, you could have Jay Farrow in here
and we're crushing its.

It's just like I was always told how brutal radio was,
you know, from just being a listener for a long
time time.

Dude, like you said, this is your first corporate drive.
This is corporate Yeah, this is what it's like. I've
had this this same similar experience. I've done that when
I was in banking, had the same kind of thing
when you know, other banks buy you out, this that
kind of thing, and you wake up that day you're
you're in Denver, Colorado working on a project, and you've
just been informed that uh you know, hey, yeah you're done.

Here's here's this, this and this and uh you're on
this flight, uh check out at the hotel by eleven.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Yeah, it's crazy though.
Speaker 6 (14:56):
I mean, like we we talked about us, we care
about us, but there was like there's been a lot
of layups going on around us, like like Disney laid
off a thousand people yesterday as well. The other companies
have been doing it. It's like, yeah, where we're at
right now, guys.

Did we make it great? Yeah?

It's I don't know, but uh, I see a lot
of people they're like they're like, oh, I'm gonna stop
listening now because and it's like the best thing you
can do if you still like the people is follow her.

Just follow them. And that's what Sean was saying this thing.

He was right about that, you know, follow Sabrina, give
her the support and the love that for sure, for
sure do that and you know she look, we've done
things with Sabrina.

She came and did a slap of the mile with us. Yeah,
she did some comedy shows with us.

It's like Fancy Glove owned the slap.

Yeah, she slapped me, which is great. It was awesome.
And she was always kind of nice and sweet and
I do hate to see it for sure. Uh but yeah, yeah,
just make sure you give her some love. You talked
to her for a while yesterday. Yeah, we were going
back and forth for a little bit.

I heard it was if we wanted to spend money

a listener during the layoff times, and as a listener,
all you make up the stories in your head because
you don't get the information. You don't have all one
hundred percent of the information, so you start speculating. And now,

because of social media, you can just speculate wildly and tag.

But that was driving you crazy, Oh dude, it started
that Uh what was it eleven or five?

Well, I found out from Angel when I walked out.
I found I found major. I found out minutes before
I told both of you. So who ran the board yesterday?
Ceiling ceiling? You can run it from back there? Okay,
all right, because I didn't see any anywhere going on.

I was about to go over to Angel's house yesterday
and drink in his front yard.
Speaker 7 (18:25):
Dude, I would have joined you. We could have sat
there just tipping him back.

All right, we're way late, but we'll take a break

you what we know. We know basically nothing. I mean, like, uh,
you know, we basically know nothing about it. We just
found out yesterday. Uh. I hate to see her go.
I can tell you from the the word. You know,
from being here and working here every day, I've never
heard anybody say negative word about Sabrina.

Everybody loves her. She was funny, she was sweet, she
was kind.

It sucks, but I personally believe and I know I
understand what Angels saying it does.

It's not a foregone conclusion.

But as talented as she is, yeah, I believe she'll
find something rather quickly. But I could be wrong. It's
a you know, it's a it's a crazy world out there,

Angel said something that struck man. He's right, and that is, uh,
you know this radio station, everybody you know listens. It's
like a family, right, like you listen to real radio
as part of the family. And I was gonna do
a segment and try to move on, but but I
probably not a good idea because you know, Sean and
them talked about it, and then afterwards, by the way,
the Colbert shows on Best of again because Jimmy's sick,

so then audience couldn't you know, talk about.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
It or hear what they wanted to hear or whatever,
and uh, and listen, that's what you're I mean, if
you go on.
Speaker 7 (19:50):
My biggest takeaway of all of this in the last
twenty four to forty eight hours is that the listeners
feel like they're not being as as much as we
can or whatever. They're not being heard, that's not being
communicated to them. They feel on the outside looking in,
and they do make a connection with us for us.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
One hundred percent. And I did have people yesterday. Are
you guys all safe? Yeah, we're good. Everything's good here.
You know, that's fine. And I'm reading the texting service
a lot of people texting about this because it.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
They love Sabrina. I mean, she you know that there's
I've never heard anybody say.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
Negati order about Sabrina, So I get that some people
asking questions about a couple of things. I said, let
me just say this again and make it as clear
as possible. This is just how I feel. And if
you don't like how I feel, I don't care. But
here's what I feel in my lifetime. And I've been
doing radio now for thirty three some odd years and
goddamn successful and been number one every you know, the

entire not the entire time, but every year I've always
been number one. I know what I'm doing when it
comes to this. Right, in my estimation, there's only two
people that I feel have the clout and the ability
and uh and should ever bashed their own car company
as far as the bit they do on the air.
One was Jim Phillips. He had it, he had the clout,
he had the ability, and no one's gonna mess with him.
(21:08):
And Howard Stern, that's it. I don't have that. I'm
you're not gonna hear me getting on here bashing my
own company that I work for. I don't have that
kind of cloud. I'm aware of that. I know that,
you know, and I don't, and I don't think anyone does.
And I don't think it's a good idea. And I
don't think it protects your staff when you do it.
So I personally don't think that's a good idea. That's
just how I feel about it. That's that's my opinion.
(21:29):
And Jim Phillips could do it because he was God
damn Jim Phillips, and he had cloud and he had
the respect of everybody around here.

You know, I know, I don't have that.

I have what I've got because we've been super super successful,
and I'm kind of to myself and whatever. Howard Stern
of course had it, and he was He even got
fired from places, you know when he did it.

So I don't think that's a good idea personally. So
there you go. I said it, and that's how I
feel about it.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
But I like a healthy amount of damn the man.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
You know what, if you like ruining your own career, sure,
damn the man all you want. You know, that's you know,
maybe listen, for some people, it might work. I don't
know everything. I'm just saying what works for me. But
do I feel bad for for Sabrina? I sure do.
I think she was in a bad position and and
uh and I personally think because she's so talented, she'll

find something.

She is the one that introduced us to those two
ladies that came and did that uh that improv thing.
Remember that meeting that we had where the improv people came. Yeah,
So and I guess she does stuff like that, like
maybe maybe that's a direction that she go. I don't know,
you know, And look, there's all kinds of people that
make money doing podcasts. I mean, podcasts are are are everywhere,

So maybe she could do that. I don't know, but
it will be sad to not have her here on
this station because she was very very well loved, I mean,
you know, across the board.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
Yeah, but I get it, like Angel's saying, like the
listeners that are like like family, Like I have a
lot of friends, like people I call friends that just
started off as people that like, listen to this show,
and uh, and we're very accessible, you know what I mean.
We're We're always out there in the streets doing live events,
doing brew buses, doing whatever, and you can definitely come
and talk to us. And people have felt that way.
(23:18):
I know a lot of celebrities and you know, I
am local celebrity hero scuba diver Mott, fashion model Ryans Holes,
but like they have like a parasocial relationship with their
audience where I feel like we're like in this community,
we are a local radio, Like we we are your friends.
You can come and chill and hang out with us.
(23:39):
So I get the hurt and pain that people are
actually feeling from whenever something like this happens.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
So I feel you, but again, go and.
Speaker 6 (23:48):
Support They're like supporting. Always act like somebody died when
this happens. It's like they got social media. You can
still be a fan of theirs, you could. They could
start a Patreon or whatever. Go support the people that
you like.

I would agree, I would agree. And she's still doing
stand up cone right, excuse me to the.

Yes, yes, she's like she's a very talented, very creative individual.
Actually met Sabrina way before I knew about her being
on air, was at Sack and I thought she was

But finding a job job in entertainment is difficult unless
you want to work at like one of the theme
parks here in town, Like there's there's a lot of
different avenues you can go.

But Angel, you've been around here for a long time.

Agree or disagree on the fact that Phillips had the
clout to to bash the company, No one's gonna say
a word, right.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
He had built this thing.

Yeah, yeah, I mean it was it was so there
was also like if there was a way that he
did it that was just elevated that Like I remember
the one show in particular, and this is when I
was interning, and I was having hard time translating some
of the stuff with my Rosetta stone, but I got
the gist of but one of my favorites of him

going in and he basically was Darren Campmeyer to come
down into the studio and tell him that he was
wrong about what he was saying.

And he and he couldn't do it.

Yeah, And I was like, this is so awesome, but
there's no way in the world I would ever be
able to do that. But he was basically, you know, challenge.
It's basically openly challenged. You're like, if you don't have
the stones to come in and tell me what I'm
doing is wrong because you know technically.

And it was argument about FCC stuff and some other
things and everything, and yeah.

So he could he could company bitch and they wouldn't
do anything because he made him so much money and

it or not me at one point when we were
syndicated in a bunch of different places and we were
on down in West Palm Beach.

They changed the name of a radio station because we
were coming on there to Real Radio ZZR. It was
something else before that, but they changed it to Real
Radio w ZZR, and we were on down there and
I'm all big headed, thought, I knew, well, like you
ain't gonna do nothing to me.

And so we were doing some show and.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
Something happened where the love doctors were complaining about us,
uh dogging them, but they were allowed to dog us,
and I was all mad about it.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
So I started, I got all.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
Big headed and full of myself, and we'll pull the
plug then if you're not gonna let us pick on
you guys, and you just pull the plug, take us
off the radio stating, because I thought there's no way
they do that. A week later they pulled us off.
So that's when Russe learned that, hey, you don't have
And I learned if I thought I'd learned it from
Jim Phillips, right, well Phillips can do it, I'll do it.
And that's where Russe learned he didn't have that kind

of clout. I yelled, pulled the plug, and guess what
they did five days later, pulled the damn plug. So
that's why you don't see me doing that anymore. Learn
the lesson the hard way. And and I'm not gonna
bite a hand. It feeds me and and and and
dog management. I want them to love us. I want
us to make the most money for him. I want
us to have the most live reads. I want us

But you know, in this particular situation, I'm a guest,
you know, and and and but the one Ryan from Florida.
Love that guy, uh, you know, Miami Ryan.

Great guy. And he sees the things the way I do.
And he and he he wants and he understands what
we're doing. So I don't know if I can say this,
how do I say this?
Speaker 5 (32:28):
All Ryan's stupid?
Speaker 1 (32:30):
You know. All Ryan seem to have a I'm starting
to see they're all sort of a little bit alike.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
And I wish I would have had you on there
with me, because you know, you can talk the language.

They're all Ryan's, they all got beards. Uh, they all
look the same kind of other than the girl.

Chinese Ryan Ryan Lee. Uh yeah, and uh and then
and then there.

Were some new ryan is there. Okay, so let me okay,
So they brought in other Ryans that you had not
met before.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Other Ryan's and one and I don't know who had
the concerns that we all talked about, and so I
was just gonna say it, what the hell?
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Okay, So, uh.
Speaker 5 (33:16):
Wait before you do that, is Ryan Khan still on
the table.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
One hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
We're changing the name because I told him Ryan Khan
is boring. This is a party and we're changing the name.
So so yeah, but it's still happening. We're going to
try to break the record and yeah, yeah, yeah, uh
and no, no, no, no, we don't know yet. We're still
still coming up with a name, right kind of thing
but but they have a they have a really good

premise that I love. And this was not my idea.
This was the one guy's idea. Ryan from I forget
where he's from. Uh, but they said, Ryan from Vegas
is the guy we got to have on the air.
And like Ryan from Vegas, everybody knows y Ryan from Vegas.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Is what we have on the air. So okay, let
me without giving it the whole thing.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
There's there's a thing that came up and and and
I didn't agree with it, and I talked to everyone
around here.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
They all said that sounded crazy.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
And and and because it was crazy, right, So instead
of doing what right, Ray Trendley said, you say, I
just opened with that, And I just said, hey, guys,
I just got to tell you I've talked to everybody
I know about You're the one concern that I heard
last week, and nobody agrees that that's a problem that
I've ever met. And I and and and one of
you Ryans might be the person that that you know,
(34:29):
brought it up. And I got to tell you you're
the one we should be concerned about now.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
And then and then.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
I saw all the Ryans laughing, except for one and
they were all, now.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Here's here's here's what happened. Uh.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
All the other Ryans are a little passive, and they
didn't want to tell this guy that, hey, that's really
nothing to be concerned about. I did it, and and
it broke the ice, and it got us out there
and and and it was squashed, and so that.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Whole thing is now not anything to worry an issue. Yeah,
it's not a non issue, because I pointed out how
ridiculous it was a non issue from the very get go.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Yeah, and his concern was like that, that's weird you
would have that concern. And I just opened up with
it and just bashed it right away because I didn't
want to waste any time. And uh, and all the
other Ryans laughed and said.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
Yeah, you know, like that is crazy.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
That is crazy.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
So here's something that one of the Ryans came up with,
and I love this idea and said, listen, you know.
One of the things that has been great is that
all these meetups that we have, there's always two or
three people that show up and.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
They're like, Hey, it's a surprise party.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Your name, your name is Ryan, and h surprise, you're
at the meeting of the Ryans, and it's always like
a great gimmick and the videotape and the guy comes
in and hey, surprise, You're at a Ryan surprise party.
And everyone here his name is Ran and it's always
like a funny thing. And so what they want to
do is make this one, uh, to make it so
(36:04):
because all the other ones only guys name men or
women named Ryan were invited. Now this one is gonna
be one of the first ones where like everybody's invited.
And I said, you need to make it that way.
And I use you as an example. Ryan, I said,
I got a guy on the show. His name is Ryan.
He's you know, he's uh, you know, that's his big
But he is not going to go to an event
without his wife.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
He ain't gonna do it. I don't care if it's
to break a record or whatever.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
He loves his wife. He's not gonna go unless his
wife come.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Come.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
So I think there's a lot of guys like that
that would go. But they want to bring their spouse,
they want to bring a family, they want to bring
a flag of their and uh.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
And they all agreed on it.
Speaker 5 (36:40):
On that agree Ryan Oka sounds good. Yeah, I'm not good.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
I'm not going to go to a party with a
bunch of dudes without my wife.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
That's exactly what I said.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Yeah yeah, And I said, listen, you need to open
it up so you know they can you know, obviously
to break the record. They got to prove that their
name is Ryan. But they should be able to bring
their spouse. It can't just be a bunch of dudes uh.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Named Ryan and a couple girls named Ryan ladies.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
And for the first time they agreed to that. So
this they thought that was a good idea. And then
make it a surprise party and to try to see
if we can get you know, have any surprise ryans
and videotape it and film it and whatever.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
I think that's a great idea on Friday night.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
Uh, they want to do and I said, I got
the perfect Ryan to do it. They want to do
and we're probably gonna go to a lexir. I'm just
I'm just spitting this out. I haven't even talked to
Alexur yet, but this is how it is in my head.
They want to do a karaoke night on Thursday night.
Oh yeah, And I said, our Ryan Holmes can host
that and that would be awesome. So Ryan, Thursday night
(37:41):
or Friday night, Ryan, you know karaoke at a Lexer
Are you in?
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Can you do that?
Speaker 5 (37:46):
I'll have to check my schedule.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
And then the second night, I pitched you Angel as
the DJ because they knew. They were like, we need
to get a really good DJ to for the second night,
which we can't say where it's going to be, but
you know they'd done DJ stuff there before. Yeah, yeah,
And I said a guy on the show would be
perfect for that. And so they were open to have
Angel Boom because I said, he's voted the best DJ
in downtown Orlando.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
He's the man. He's on our show, so that.
Speaker 5 (38:09):
Will we recognize him? Does he have a banner?
Speaker 1 (38:12):
I didn't mention the banner, but they loved that idea.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
You're going to say that a lot.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
And then I'm trying to get him, you know, okay,
discounts or like maybe even free entry to Gatorland for Sunday,
so we have some of the plan for every all
three of the days. They loved the idea of this
time allowing spouses and other people to come, and that
way kids could come and all that kind of stuff,
and it actually turned out very well, but it started
off it started off rough a little bit because I
(38:38):
just went right for the problem and said, hey, man,
that's just crazy and who and I don't know if
the guy that was concerned about that is here, And
turned out he was right right on my screen and
he explained a little bit, you know, but nobody agreed
with him. And it's not a it's not an issue anymore.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
Where was that particular Ryan from? Do you know?
Speaker 1 (38:58):
Minnesota?
Speaker 6 (38:59):
Okay, I see, that's what I'm saying. Like that feels
like like like.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
If you're not from Florida, Yeah, maybe you don't.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
He's never been to Florida, never been to a park
like that.
Speaker 6 (39:11):
Yeah, so yeah, I could see it being a thing.
I don't know with it.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
It's not a thing. It's that's not We're not andre't
gonna worr about it anymore. Soity it's still next January.
We're trying to get the break the Guinness Book of
World records for the most Ryan's in one party at
one event. Uh, and it'll be they set a date now.
It is going to be January the thirtieth. It's a Saturday.
January the thirtieth is one we're going to try to
(39:36):
break this record. Everybody like, if your name is Ryan,
you can bring you know, you can bring family members.
Now that'll be now the Ryans will get in for free.
Family members. You don't have to pay to get in,
which is you know, that's I don't think there's anything
wrong with that.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
But I means Ryan day, not it's not Ryan's wife day,
right right.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Right, oh ya.

One of the guys when we first started the meeting like, well,
you know, we normally don't have people in meetings that
aren't named Ryan. And that's well, I have made a Ryan,
So I think I count my.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
Son's na Yeah, yeah, I made a Ryan, So I
think I count you know, my son's name is Ryan.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
They're like, okay, yeah, you're in, You're fine, You're fine,
ended up being fine, starts calling me Daddy Russ. Started
off rocky, but I just went right for the juggler
and went right for the problem and it worked out great.
