Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Monsters in the Morning on Real Radio 104.1.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I am Ryan and it's Angel and Ryan in the
Morning and we're hosting this thing together. I usually do
the first half.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Angel does the back half because we like to tag
team this thing. And then we got the very talented wrestler,
the full throttle model Amber Nova here with us today.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Thank you. What a sweet introduction.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
You're welcome. You're welcome. That's only because this is about
to happen.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
I knew it.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I knew it.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
I was like, why is he being nice to me?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah, you gotta butter him up before you melt him down. Great.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Amber Nova is the full throttle model and she does
live her life full throttle. People go, hey, is Amber
Nova a character? Is Amber Nova like that full time?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
This is Amber. 100%. The only version that you don't.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Get of Amber, I guess, is Angels brought this up before.
She has a very dark sense of humor.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
All fair. Oblique. And it's bad. I think it has
to do for a lot of different reasons.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
It could be because she was sent to a child
reform school for smoking a little bit of weed. It
could be because she's an EMT and EMTs have very
dark sense of humor.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Former EMT, but yes, dark sense of humor.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Or it could be because her whole job is to
take blows to the various parts of her body.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
CTE is a hell of a drug.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
But Amber has this... I mean, if you're a listener,
you obviously know this. Amber will just talk. And I
don't think there's a filter from brain to mouth like
a lot of people have. A lot of people go,
should I say this thing? Amber does not have that.
Amber will just.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Amber's outruled by her intrusive thoughts.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yes, intrusive thoughts all day.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
You would be surprised half the things I think about
and don't say.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yes, I would be. I would.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
I'd be more interested to hear those, to be honest
with you. But Amber, on Friday, we did a live
broadcast from Universal Studios.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Russ was out.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
And when Russ is away, Amber will play.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
The monsters will play.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
So Amber decided to get a little bit froggy on
Friday morning. And she's decided to let some grievances air,
so to speak. And we always joke, like, Russ doesn't
listen to the show.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Blah, blah, blah.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
But here's the thing. Even if Russ doesn't listen to
the show, there's a thousand minions out there that will
text him.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Thousands. Snitches.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Snitches.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Snitches. But they do it anyways.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
There's a bunch of stitch covered snitches out there that
send just the texts or clips of the videos to Russ.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
And then he will watch that.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
He will.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
If you clip something, he will watch it. That's how
his brain works. And Amber was like, hey, Russ has
been a.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Little bit grumpy. He's been cranky. He's been blah, blah, blah. Good,
he needed a time off.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
I said he needed a vacation.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, he said he needed a vacation.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I felt like he, you know, is not his happy
self sometimes.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah. Well, Russ, the other day goes, guys, I.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Need another day. I'm just not really feeling like dealing
with Amber. So I'm just going to take Wednesday off.
Do you guys still want to do the show? And
I'm like, yeah, we'll do the show.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
No problem.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
But you hurt his feelings. And he has been vocal
about that. I don't know if you listened to the
show yesterday at all.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I don't know if you guys have heard the times
when you guys have hurt my feelings and nobody gave
a rats about it.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Oh, oh, okay. A rats what?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
See, unlike him, I try not to say bad words.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
That is, oh my gosh, that is such a lie. Okay,
I'm good.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
No, no, no.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
What Amber's doing, and this is called Darvo, Angel. It's
called Darvo.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Oh, don't you dare say I am never.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
It's a psychological manipulation tactic.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
I do not do that.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
That's used by people, and you do do this.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
I do not do that. You deny, you attack, and
then you reverse the victim and offender. That's what you
just did.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I cannot believe you think I do stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
You 100, that's how you argue. Anytime we tell you something.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
We point something out to you. That's exactly what you do.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
No.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
You just had a thought and you thought about it
and went, oh no, I do that.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
And then you went, no.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
I'm just trying to be fair here where I've said
things where like, hey, you guys have kind of hurt
my feelings or I've felt disrespected at times and I'm
completely shut down and blown off, and you guys Darvo me.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Oh, she's Darvo-ing the Darvo. It's a double Darvo. Darvo square.
You can't Darvo my Darvo. My goodness.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Okay, let's just go back.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
What you did. No, no, no. Just real quick, just
to show you what you did. Watch this. I said, hey,
you did this.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
You then denied that you did that, and then you
attacked me, and then you reversed the victim order, thus
making yourself the victim and yelling at us.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
So just understand that that is what you're doing.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
You guys think you've never done that to me before.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
We do it all the time.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
You guys do it all the time. But we do
it on air for jokey joke purposes.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
No. In person, when something is wrong, this is what
you do every time. Especially when we catch you in
your little white lies that you.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Do all the time.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I don't white lie. I admit when I'm wrong and
you guys call it fibbing. And I'm like, oh, well,
I guess I wasn't 100% right on that.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Amber.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
You're about to get a bless your heart.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Okay, let's go back to the Russ thing. So I
hurt Russ's feelings, so he didn't want to come into
work today. Well, good.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Maybe it's time for heel.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Amber to come out.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
I think it should be time. I think you need
to pick Elaine.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Tired of getting walked all over. And you guys Darvo
me and it's okay, but I can't Darvo you back.
So you know what? To hell with it all.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
She's going to say Darvo for the rest of the day.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
I call parlay as well.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Now you're just saying words.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
No, I call parlay.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
What's the parlay? What do you want?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
We need to respect each other's feelings and know that
you guys, you clearly just admitted you Darvo us all
the time.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I was saying that as a joke. I don't actually
do this.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I did not hurt Russ's feelings. You did. I did not.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
You did, because Russ feels like he does a lot
for you.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
He does, and I'm grateful. I can't even say how
many times I have thanked Russ how grateful I am
for everything he's done. Uh-huh.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Or you act out, and you don't have the belt.
You don't have the things that he needs.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
That is not my fault that the guy we paid
has not... I have not received it yet. I paid
someone for a service. That service has not been completed.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
So just real quick, you're denying that it's your fault.
You are now attacking the credibility of the maker of
the belt and you're reversing.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Now you're the victim. Is that what's happening here?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
You know what? I guess I just absolutely suck. I'm
a real stinker lately, guys. It's all my fault.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
I mean, no, I'm not getting at you. I do
feel like you need to pick Elena.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
That's the other pivot again. Then the next pivot is
now everything that's wrong with the world.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Is her fault.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
It's not. We paid a man. We picked a man
to create a championship belt. Three months later, it's not here.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I mean, sure. But you got to pick a lane, Amber.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I don't know if Russ always has your best interests
in mind either.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (07:23):
There's been a couple of things where like, you know,
you've had to, you've had to do some stuff that
maybe Amber Nova didn't want to do.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
I think it's time you do go full heel at Russ.
You know what I mean? Let those intrusive thoughts fly.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
I don't trust you.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Why would you not trust me? I'm so trustworthy.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Oh yeah. I think what you're trying to do is
you're like, you know what? That's right. Full heel on Russ.
Just attack him. Go right after him.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Yeah, he'd respect that more.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
This does not sound like good... No, see, when you
call him fat, he thinks it's hilarious. When you call him, like,
funny names or a deaf bitch on air, he laughs.
If I make a little joke, he takes it all personal.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Did you just call him a deaf bitch?
Speaker 3 (08:08):
No, you did once.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Oh, my God. That's a disability, dude. Yeah. Is that okay?
I don't trust you.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
Brian gets away for things because.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Oh, okay. So, but here's the thing, and there's levels
to this, and this is maybe what's gotten you in
a pickle and in the gym that you're in right now.
And you got to understand and appreciate this.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
You're right.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
You just stated it. There are levels to this. And
so there are jokes and there are things. that Ryan
can say because he's been here longer, right? And it's
been here longer, been around longer, has built up that,
let's say that credibility or that well that he can
go to. He's done that, right? Because there's things that
Ryan can say that neither one of us, neither you
(08:53):
or I can say. There just is. And then sometimes
out of nowhere, to use some of the terminology that
you would understand, you'll come off the top rope and
grab something that Ryan has said and throw that at him.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
And I'm uncomfortable when.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
She does that. And you're thinking, oh, well, Ryan says it. Well, yeah,
neither you or I can say that. Does that make
sense to you?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
There's been times where I've made jokes where Russ has
thought it was funny. And then there's been times where
I like, I think he took it personal where I'm
not the comedian on the show. That is Ryan's role. Right.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
So every time, every time you've taken a shot, I
can tell you this part and this part's a hundred
percent true. Every single time, every single time he might've chuckled,
he might've given you a smirk, but every single time
that you've gone at him, it's hurt his feelings every
single time.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Savannah made me. She literally made me that time. And
Savannah's like.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
I want you to be mean. And then when I
did it, when I said.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Yes, I'll do it, and I went full on, okay,
I'm gonna, if you guys really want me to be
mean and hurt his feelings, and Savannah like come on
Amber do it and I like Shots fired.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I did it.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
And then I felt bad afterwards.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
No, you did not. We got that on camera.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
You were laughing your ass off.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Because I had to go full heel.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
So I just went.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
I'm a comedian, Amber.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
I've been doing comedy for the better part of 14
years professionally.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
If I throw in a fat joke at Russ.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Which you do about 27 times a day.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
But here's the reality. He's not even that fat.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (10:29):
He's a bigger guy for sure, but he's not a
big fat fatto. Oh my gosh. But also, I'm not
the first person to throw a fat joke at Russ.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Drunkie the Bear, Daniel, Dirty Jim, all the people throughout
all the years have been throwing these kind of jokes
at Russ.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
So it is a bit of water off a duck's back.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
I've never thrown a fat joke at Russ. And that's
the point I'm about to make. When Amber Nova, beautiful, tiny, petite,
in shape Amber Nova is well known for her abs.
looks at Russ and go, hey, you fat sack of crap,
it's gonna hurt a little bit differently. You always go
(11:09):
too hard and too far.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
You literally called him a.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Deaf bitch like 30 seconds ago.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
No, I was repeating what you said one morning.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I never called him a deaf bitch.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
I will run the tape.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Run it.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
I will run the tape.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
They got no tape to run, girl.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yes, I will run the tape. It's on YouTube forever.
It exists forever. There was a morning where he was like, um...
uh what and you were like you deaf bitch and
then i busted out laughing because i.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
Thought i've never said it you said it but i
but but that there's a way to do that there's
that's timing there's things like in that moment like if
he's like can't hear something and i'm like lightly like
you're deaf bitch you.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Know like it's it's funny i just don't say anything
you go in you're deaf bitch there's something mean about.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
It i've never did that i'm.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Oh my God, Amber, what are you doing right now?
It's called gaslighting, Angel.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
This is not gaslighting.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
We're all in an abusive relationship with Amber Nova. You
guys understand that, right? Between the gaslighting, the Darvo, the
passive aggressive manipulation, the guilt tripping, the.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Playing the martyr, like, oh, everything's my fault. We're all
in an abusive relationship.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
All of Orlando, Central Florida, iHeartMedia is in an abusive
relationship with Amber Nova and we have to stop this today.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Take some accountability.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
I never said that. I was repeating what you said.
I said, you said these things. You did. So then
I say them. And then you're trying to say that
I just said them all. No, I'm repeating something that
you said as an example.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (12:34):
You're driving me insane.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (12:36):
How about this then, Amber? Let's not repeat what other
people say.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
I did it only for this example. I didn't repeat
it just for funsies.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Uh-huh. Okay, just know that it hurts Russ's feelings.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
If you want dark side of Amber, don't get mad
when I actually bring it out.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
I want dark side of Amber. I say go darker today.
I say go Amber, go the darkest you've ever been.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I think you want me fired. No, no.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Look, if you didn't get fired for Friday, you're not
getting fired. Yeah, you're good.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I think this is all a trick.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
No, it's not a trick.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
I think for the listeners, it'd be very fun to
see the dark Amber Nova. Amber, real heel Amber Nova today.
I say go for it. But when Russ comes back,
you have to be nice to Russ.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
I'm sorry. I can be mean. I can be mean.
When angels mean to Russ, it also very much hurts
Russ's feelings. Yeah, that's why I don't do it.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
I never mean to Russ. He's my boss. You guys
tell me that I kiss his ass all the time.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
He's technically not your boss, by the way. Bring that up.
He loves to.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Okay, technically. Technically, no. But he is the reason I
have this job.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
All right, girl.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Look.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
We're going to move past this. Just know, be nicer
to Russ, but not for today. Today, you're me and
Amber Nova, okay?
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Are you aware when you're lying?
Speaker 3 (13:54):
I take accountability for things I do all the time.
You guys just drive me absolutely insane.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
There's thousands of text messages and messages and the chat
and everything that are saying that, no, you do not.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Okay, they're liars.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Oh, here we go.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Because I immediately take accountability.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Let the listeners know how much they're liars.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
I always take accountability for something that I've done wrong.
Let them know.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Tell them. That's right, Amber.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
They're liars.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Yeah. We'll be back with more liars in the morning. No,
can't hear it. Can't understand it.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Sorry.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (14:31):
You're hanging out with Angel and Ryan in the morning,
the Monsters in the morning.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
We're getting a lot of messages this morning, but it's
stuff like that. You guys make sure you check your
message before you play it back. There's a lot of
sound quality issues. I thought, like on my end, that
sounded a little bit better than over there. So sorry
about that.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Go ahead. Sorry about that, Ryan.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
No, we're super, I mean, like we're trying to be
more interactive today. So we're playing the hot takes. You
can leave them all morning long. Also, we got a
YouTube channel. Make sure you like and subscribe to that
YouTube channel. as well shout out to all the people
that are in there I'm just gonna pick some names
out we got the crazy drunk cat lady Brian Evans
editor Hernandez how y'all doing and then text us 77031
lots of ways to interact with the show.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
And now and then also it's me Ryan Amber's here
say hi Amber Morning.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Angel Rivera and friendly Ray Trilley is joining us for
Monster Sports because he's a sports. He's not just a lawyer.
He's a sports guy. He's a delusional Miami fan as well.
So we'll have him here for that. And now here's
Angel Rivera to bring you Monster Sports.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Monster Sports brought to you by Mark Spain Real Estate.
That's Mark Spain Real Estate. Make sure you visit the
website if you're looking to purchase. looking to sell your home,
and they're actually hiring as well. So that's a fantastic resource.
Definitely check that out. Do you guys feel it? You
guys feel it today? Are you feeling it right now?
It's football season.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
It's the football day. Oh, yeah, Australian football.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Let's go. NFL starts today. We got some action going on.
First game. Tonight, it's going to be New England Patriots
versus the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Wednesday night for us, Thursday for them.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
No, that's going to be the Thursday night game.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Yeah, tomorrow for us is going to be 49ers and Rams.
Tonight is Patriots. But it's going to feel like.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Thursday for them thursday yeah it's very confusing when you
go down under.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
Yeah but uh so we've we've got the uh new
england patriots versus the seattle seahawks lumen field in seattle
they are going to get to uh the champs are
going to go on the you know gonna get to
start defending their championship have you guys had a chance
to see the seattle seahawks uh uh ring No. It's incredible.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (16:52):
It's absolutely incredible. It's not something, again, the Super Bowl
championship ring has evolved to a thing that you would
only wear, let's say, like on draft day, like if
you're part of the draft broadcast or you're on TV.
I can't imagine these guys wearing those things on a
day-to-day basis.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
I would wear it all around my house. I'll never
see a Super Bowl ring, but, you know. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
So, Ryan, how are you feeling about your team's odds?
Speaker 7 (17:17):
Gotta be like what less than five percent chance they're
gonna win this game yeah it's.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Not not good.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Uh but i am a patriots fan i'm always gonna
root for my team but uh realistically i don't have
a lot of high hopes for this particular game uh
the super bowl last year was obviously very bad for
us and uh we're we're doing it again i i
don't know really that much about seattle i just know
they're a good team.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
And uh Seattle Seahawks fans, let me know.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Hit me up.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
RealMobile77031. I don't think you guys lost a lot in
the offseason.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
No, the Seahawks stayed reloaded. Yeah, they kind of re-upped.
Speaker 7 (17:54):
They lost Kenneth Walker. That's the big loss that they had.
Went to Kansas City. But I'll tell you what, that
running back out of Notre Dame, he's got fresh legs.
He's quick.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
He's shifty. I don't think the Patriots can be able
to stop him.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Unfortunately, I think you're 100% correct. It's going to be
a hard year for the Patriots. We have a much
harder schedule this year than last year, and I don't
think our team is really up for it.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
So I'm going to go.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
If we do a solid 500, I'd be happy with it.
But just like Ryan, the Patriots are always cheap to
try to win a game or two. Well, it's not cheating, right?
I mean, like, it's going to be one, right?
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Yeah. He's still there. Yeah, he's still there.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Look, if you're going to bring up the cheating, okay,
much like my wife, don't the people that cheated aren't
there anymore.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
Yeah it's institutional it's just ingrained in the it's in the.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
System guilty by association that's.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Right it's not a thing and robert craft is barely
doing anything at this point he's getting massages he's busy
getting massages did he ever go to jail is there
a mug shot for that guy i've never seen one.
Speaker 7 (19:02):
I think there was a mug shot but i don't
believe he went to jail okay well he's got the
don't go to jail money.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Every team in the NFL has some kind of... I
feel like I'm Russ now. I'm slowly turning into Russ.
But they're like, everybody's got a past.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
We've noticed that about your midsection, actually. Everybody's got a history.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
It hurts when Ray does it. See, Ray is what
Amber is to Russ. Like, when Ray says something, it
hurts me. Whereas, like, if Russ said.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
It, I wouldn't even think twice. Toughen up, buttercup.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Well, then quit being a little bit.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
I love how she doesn't finish it. Quit being a
little B.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Yeah, why don't you just quit being a little B?
I said it softly.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Alright, so we got that game going on tonight and
then tomorrow like we've been talking about, this is another
key matchup. It's going to be the 49ers and the Rams,
and that's going to be 8.35 our time.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Aaron Donald is not playing.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
That's huge. Is it, though, in the sense of him
getting back? I know he just signed, and he wasn't
in camp all camp long. I've been following this dude
on Instagram since he retired. He looks like he's in
phenomenal shape. Did you see the other clip with Miles
Garrett and him training with the rugby players? no the
(20:18):
rugby guy that's showing him how to too much testosterone
i can't watch that oh dude it was so it's
i'm pretty sure it's miles garrett and he's working out
with this rugby uh superstar phenom and showing him basically
how to hit.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Harder oh i did hear about that yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
It's absolutely terrifying like if you're a football player uh
that's a terrifying clip to see like that beast of
a human being being taught how.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
To hit more efficiently yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
That's scary angel can i uh i know it's your
monster sport no no go ahead you'll Yesterday, you brought
in the ESPN camera operator that zoomed in on that lady.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
He's getting a lot of flack. Well, the lady was identified.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
And she had to put her Instagram to private. Oh,
instantly on Saturday night. Not that anybody was looking.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
She was.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Did you see the... She makes a video. She makes
a video on her TikTok.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Hilarious.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
And it's the messages that dudes have sent her. And honestly.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
If I was a hot lady like that, I'm deleting
my profile immediately. She's got dudes that are sending her
their height, their weight, and how much they take home annually.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
And there's guys that are straight up saying, ruin me.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Yeah. He said, one guy just messaged, I'm going to
Whole Foods. Do you want anything?
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Another guy says, bankrupt me. I mean, like, this girl's
whole life changed in an instant. Her responses were fantastic
to those, though. She's like, I like Whole Foods. i
like it look i don't i don't know if this
lady does any just do you know if she does
any like modeling or anything professionally like.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
That i don't believe she does yeah yeah old miss hot.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Yeah there are there are guys out there that are
like i think they're called simps and they do want
you to like talk.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
I love how you slow rolled that and acted like
that's the first time you had heard that word i'm
certain amber that you're familiar with the simps in your universe.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Right, I'm explaining this for other.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
People that don't know what it means. I'm the queen of.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Them, she says. Yeah, I've had some people message me
and be like, hey, will you talk mean to me?
And I'm like, just like, yeah, call me a loser.
And I'm like, this is weird.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Has Russ ever asked you to talk mean to him?
Speaker 3 (22:21):
No, but he should.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
So why do you do it so much? Wait, so
what do you do? You get on like a Zoom
call with them and you're like, you're mean to them?
Speaker 3 (22:29):
No, just like chat, like just messages.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Just text messaging? I don't text message people.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Like, I've had this happen before, and I'm just like,
this is kind of weird and uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Okay, I want to get back to that, but we're
in the middle of Monster Sports. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
You brought this girl up who's literally having the same thing.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
All right, so real quick, we're going to go through
as the NFL season is getting ready to start. AFC East,
they're predicting the Bills are going to go 11-6, Patriots 9-8,
Jets 6-11, Dolphins 2-15.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
They're wrong.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
I am fighting with myself right now on taking the
over on wins. You think they hit three wins?
Speaker 1 (23:06):
100%.
Speaker 7 (23:06):
And I also bet big money on this Raiders game
this weekend.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
AFC North is going to be the Ravens 12-5, Bengals 11-6,
Steelers 9-8, and Browns 5-12. I'll take the under on that.
AFC South is going to be Texans 11-6, Jaguars 8-9,
Colts 7-10, and the Titans 3-14.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
That's a tough one.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
AFC West is going to be the Broncos 12-5, Chiefs 10-7,
Chargers 9-8, Raiders 5-12. There's no way.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
The Raiders have more wins than the Dolphins. I don't
care who you... I'm sorry, but you got to believe it, buddy.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
Cowboys in the NFC East. Cowboys are going to go 10-7.
Eagles 9-8.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Giants 8-9.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
And the Commodores are going to go 7-10. The NFC
North Lions, they're predicting them to be the favorite there.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
12-5.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Packers 11-6. Bears 10-7. And Vikings 10-7. The NFC North
is going to be ridiculous. AFC South, the Saints are 8-9.
And then Buccaneers are 7-10. But this came out before
the news that your boy got re-signed.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Baker B.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Cookin. Yeah, Baker Mayfield signs a three-year $ 165 million extension.
So hopefully that puts him in a good mood. And
changes that. So Buccaneers 7-10, Falcons 6-11, Panthers 6-11. And
then the NFC West 14-3, 12-5 are the Seahawks. 49ers
are 10-7, Cardinals are 3-14. And so all of those
are predictions and those are courtesy of... Let me give
my man his proper dues and his propers. John Breach
(25:03):
of CBS Sports.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
There's no way the Falcons win six games with Tua
as quarterback. There's no way.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
He was announced as a starter. Do you think as
soon as Michael Penix is healthy, they're going to slide
him in?
Speaker 5 (25:20):
100%.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
There's no way they're winning six games with Tua.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Do you think he makes it out of game one uninjured?
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Yeah, I think he will. I think he will. But,
you know, he's fragile. He is. Like Russ used to say.
He's a dainty boy. The rest of Miami's team wasn't
the problem for Tua. Yeah. Tua's Tua's problem. They had Tyreek.
They had Waddle. They had stars all over the field. A-chan. Yeah,
so good luck, Falcons. I don't know why you would
pick him. I don't know why you would start him.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Is the quarterback situation that bad in the NFL?
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Well, I don't know why they picked him up in
free agency. That's a question that will always be asked.
But they end up having to put him as their
starter because, yeah, Penix still is, according to what he
told coach, he wasn't healthy or ready to go yet.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
He just wants to watch Tua get hit.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Is he just a guy that's mad at Tua so
he hired him? That's them Lex Luthor nonsense.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
I like that.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
And that's Monster Sports.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
All right. We'll stick around.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Up next, we've got friendly Ray Trendley, not just talking sports,
but talking legal stuff, talking all the things. We're going
to find out more about Amber Nova's simps and all
that and more. You're listening to the Monsters of the
Morning on Real Radio 104.1.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
You're listening to Monsters.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
In the Morning on Real Radio 104.1, and it's Ryan.
I'm hosting today. I'm here with Angel Rivera, Amber Nova.
Friendly Ray's hanging out.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
With us a little bit, too.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
But friend of the show comes in, and that is
Jason Mendelsohn.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
You guys have seen him a few times on the show.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
And he's a lovely fella, and he is going to
be doing a TED Talk with TEDxOrlando. And he brought
Nick Rogers in, who runs TEDxOrlando as well.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
How you doing, fellas?
Speaker 4 (27:14):
I'm doing great. Thrilled to be here.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Is that okay?
Speaker 6 (27:16):
Yeah, go for it. Also very good. Thank you, Neil Rogers,
which you know me. That's my dad.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Yeah, no, we love a good Neil Rogers around here.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Isn't he like some kind of a TV.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
guy in america i don't know it could be i'm
just i'm just out now jason uh just so people
are familiar with you and this one's always it's always
hard for me to say but it is your branding
you came up with this yourself you are uh you
can find jason online.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
It's superman hpv.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Superman hpv.com is the website for all that right and
the backstory on that is uh jason had cancer And
he had cancer from HPV, which HPV does cause cancer.
You can get vaccines for that and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
You definitely should. But that's my opinion. We're not here
to talk vaccines.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
So Jason, what is your TEDx talk about?
Speaker 8 (28:10):
So I'm really excited about it. So I'm going to
discuss eliminating stigma, shame, and silence from not only an
HPV diagnosis, but from all diagnoses. So epilepsy, Crohn's, mental health.
So people can... get to the doctor more quickly, feel
more comfortable, get diagnosed more quickly and have better outcomes.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
When you say people, are you specifically talking about men
in general?
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Um, you know what? I do address that directly because that's, it.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
Seems like dudes are like, we're the worst at this
part of it.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
A hundred percent. It is. It's an issue. Right.
Speaker 8 (28:41):
So at the end of the day, yes, I'll be
direct directly addressing that as well as just the need
for people to feel more comfortable to get to the
doctor more quickly for better outcomes.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
How long did it take you to become comfortable? I mean,
like obviously you've made it your brand Superman HPV HPV.
Those are three big letters for a lot of people.
And it's one of the most common viruses that humans get.
I mean, like if you are having sex and you
have not gotten a vaccine and you are like 40,
you probably have had it at some point. Right. Like
that's that's how it is. but people are afraid to
talk about it. People are, and you've leaned into it.
(29:12):
How long did it take for you to become comfortable, A,
calling yourself Superman HPV and just bringing it up at all?
Speaker 2 (29:19):
You know what?
Speaker 8 (29:19):
So I'm not like your normal person. I don't mean
because I'm a superhero. I mean, because I was comfortable
from the beginning. To be honest with you, I went public.
I researched it. I found out eight out of 10
adults in their lifetime had the virus. And I thought,
why wouldn't I be comfortable? It wasn't until I started
speaking to people about it that I realized how many
people were uncomfortable and not talking about it. And so
(29:43):
from the beginning I felt comfortable, but I would tell
you 99% of the people I speak with aren't going public,
aren't talking about it because they're ashamed because it is
HPV related.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Yeah. And it's one of those that's like, uh, like,
not to relate it to like skin cancer too much,
but it's a, it's a cancer that you can catch early.
It's treatable. You can live a normal life. A lot
of people, it just clears out with them like naturally,
but the ones that don't tend to be the more
cancerous ones. And it can be cancer across the board.
Yours happened to be neck cancer. I had tonsil cancer cancer.
(30:16):
And they believe I was exposed at 18 or 19.
Like we've talked about in the past and that the
virus lay dormant in the crypts of my throat. That's
the part that I think most anybody kind of tenses
up because it was a long time from then till
when you were diagnosed with cancer. And the fact that
it can live inside of you for that long, like
a ticking time bomb. Would there have been anything that
(30:39):
you could have done test-wise or anything that would have
shown that ahead of time?
Speaker 8 (30:44):
There are no tests currently for tongue, throat, and tongue cancer.
Like a woman would have a pap smear, right, for
cervical cancer. But there's no test like that for men whatsoever.
Most people would test positive for HPV, but the question is,
is it going to become cancer? And that's the part.
That test doesn't exist today unless you're doing a biopsy
of the tongue, throat, and tonsils.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Wow. That's wild.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Now, what made you– I mean, your whole family is
a philanthropy-based family. I mean, we've had your sons in
here before. But what made you like, okay, you know what?
This is my thing. This is what the hand that
I was dealt. I'm going to go make sure as
few people after me this happens to.
Speaker 8 (31:25):
You know, I just felt responsible. I mean, I've said
it before. I made videos to my kids saying goodbye.
I just didn't.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Know if it was the end.
Speaker 8 (31:35):
And when I realized there was a vaccine that could
protect boys and girls.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Is that better?
Speaker 8 (31:39):
I'm not sure if that's fully plugged.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
I'm not sure if it's fully pushed in there.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
No, I just wanted to move it closer to you, Mike.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
You're good.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
I just figured if I could protect others from the
pain that my family went through, why wouldn't I do it?
Speaker 4 (31:49):
I felt responsible to do it.
Speaker 8 (31:51):
And we joke, you know, about Superman, the whole thing,
but I honestly would love to be the guy that
helps protect the planet from HPV preventable cancers. And so
it just, I don't know. I'm parents raised me to
do the right thing, help people where I could. And
so it just, I was driven to do it, to
be honest.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Jason. So how does it happen where you get to
this point now where you're getting ready to do a
pretty cool experience and do a Ted talk? Like, is
there something that's been in the works for quite some time?
Does it turn around happen pretty quickly? Um, what's that
process like?
Speaker 8 (32:22):
So if we're talking specifically about TEDx Orlando, which I
don't want to speak for you, um, Do you want,
so I can tell you that, that a lot.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
Of people experience.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Like how, how did they approach you? How did you
get on their radar? So I applied. Okay.
Speaker 8 (32:35):
And there were over 600 people that applied and then
they narrowed it and narrowed it.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
And thank goodness they chose me forever.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
Grateful.
Speaker 8 (32:42):
It's one of my, my, you know, one of my goals,
it was to do a Ted talk. So my story
could go global. So it saves lives worldwide. And so, um,
but it was a lot of work, a lot of preparation.
It was applying. It was, you know, hopefully, you know,
Hopefully something above made it happen, too. I mean, just
everything combined. So everything lined up. And after six and
(33:03):
seven years of wanting to do it and really looking
at different events, I got chosen for Orlando. So I'm
really excited about October 17th.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
That's very cool.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
And Nick, you run the whole TEDx Orlando. You say
you're getting 600 applications for a TED Talk. What made
this one stick out to you where you're like, we're
going with the Superman HPV? So, I mean, it's a
number of things. A, I mean, you know, Jason, you
know how dedicated he is to his cause and his
kind of message resonated massively. Me personally, I had a
(33:32):
brush with cancer myself, so there was a personal element there.
But just Jason's dedication to his mission and the importance
of his message. And just to give you a little
hint into just how dedicated he is, TEDx speakers famously
stand on a red carpet. When they're doing their talks,
he has bought the exact carpet that we're going to
be using at our event on October 17th. And he's
(33:53):
practicing in his living room on the red. So that's
how that's how seriously he's taken this. And we we
feel very lucky to have him as one of our
13 speakers. You know what, Jason, I've seen American Ninja Warrior.
And some of these people build the whole thing in
their backyard, and that's how they get on American Ninja War.
I've never seen this for public speaking. I've never seen
(34:14):
training done on this kind of level. But I guess selfishly, Nick,
what I want to ask you is, are all of
the pitches– as well put together as Jason's doing, or
they're just zady ones that you're getting along the board.
They're like, I can't even believe you're asking me to
do this.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
635 applications. Let's just say there's a spectrum.
Speaker 6 (34:36):
And Jason's very much at one end of the spectrum,
and there are plenty at the other end of the spectrum.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Red and crayon. Yeah, basically.
Speaker 6 (34:43):
But it's interesting because Jason came with us with a very,
very strong idea of what the whole talk would look like.
We got 18 minutes to do a TED or a
TEDx talk. We had other people. other speakers that we've
selected who maybe came with a concept. And one of
the big things that we try and do is engage
all of our speakers in a coaching process. So Jason
(35:03):
is a star pupil because he knows what he's doing.
Some of the other speakers, it's fascinating to work with
them to turn that concept into a fully fledged 18-minute
TEDx talk. And Jason is one of 13 speakers on
the day. And what we try and do is create
this kind of emotional arc to the day so the
audience is going to be sort of flowing along with
(35:24):
the sort of the pitches that we've developed. And lots
of people watch TEDx or TED Talks online, but the
feeling in the room with a whole day, that's something
unique and quite spectacular.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
I actually.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
I know Ted as a YouTube channel. Yeah. I've watched
a ton of them. I actually don't know.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
What is Ted? What is the.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
What's the philosophy or the thought behind the whole concept? Sure.
Speaker 6 (35:51):
Well, so Ted is the kind of the daddy, if
you like. They're the big conference. That's the one in Vancouver.
That's the one where... you'd have people like, I don't know,
Richard Dawkins, whoever, doing a TED Talk. TEDx, they are
independently organized local events. So they're licensed by TED, but
they are all unique. They're all designed around their own
(36:12):
different principles, all based around ideas and forward thinking, that
sort of thing. And my husband and I, we ran
a TEDx event in London for 10 years before we
relocated to Orlando. And now we have the license to
run TEDx Orlando. So We have our first event, as
I say, October 17th at the Convention Center. I'm really
excited for Jason's talk and for all our other speakers.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
How do you get tickets to this event? TEDxOrlando.live. Tickets
available now. That's awesome. Oh, Ken Miller.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Ken Miller, who has a show on Real Laughs, is
going to be there as well doing a talk. So
you've got quite the lineup here.
Speaker 6 (36:49):
We've got Ken Pozek. He's a familiar face. But Ken Miller,
his talk is amazing. We had his rehearsal the other day.
He's basically talking about the power of laughter and how
laughter can carry you through some of life's more difficult moments.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
It made me cry.
Speaker 6 (37:05):
I won't hesitate to admit.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Brilliant talk.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
With all the applications that you guys receive for this,
especially on TED Talk Orlando, it seems like it runs
the gamut. So you've got some very serious ones, but
it also seems like there's other avenues. So every one
of these doesn't have to be a heavy topic.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (37:26):
And, you know, we have the serious, hard-hitting talks like Jason,
and then we have someone like Jimmy Waldron who's talking
about how awesome dinosaurs are. So, you know, that's what
we try and do for the day is create this
variety for our audience.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
That's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I would be fascinated to know like the logistics of
it because it's a, it's a long day of public
speaking and be like, you know, I do standup shows
and whatnot. And when, when I'm putting together a show,
like if I'm having other people on it, I have
to go, okay, I can't have this person here. A
little too similar to this. I don't want this to
follow this. Do you, do you go dinosaurs then HPV
or HPV then dinosaur?
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Rise and fall. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (38:08):
These are the decisions because I'm the director of curation
for the event. So I have to work out, where
everyone goes in the lineup, who starts, who ends, where
the emotional beats are best played. I love that. That's fascinating.
So I'm not going to reveal the lineup yet. I'm
not going to reveal where Jason is, but we've got
him worked out pretty well.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Well, if you want to get tickets to this event,
you can go to TEDxOrlando.live. That's TEDxOrlando.live. And Jason, before
we get out of here, if you want people to
know one thing to take away from your experience that
they can help them in their everyday life, what would
that be?
Speaker 8 (38:45):
If you know you're having an issue, whether it's an HPV,
you know, bump on the neck issue or any type
of issue, the one thing I would tell you is
go to the doctor today. Do not delay. Do not
wait two years because you're going to have to man up.
Just go to the doctor.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
A hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
In regards to Jason real quick before we go, it's SupermanHPV.com.
That's where you can donate. That's where you can get
in contact with Jason and also keep up with his
schedule of the other charitable events and things that he
does throughout the year. Because on top of this, I'm
sure you've got a busy calendar of the rest of
the year as well.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
April 18th. I'll be back to talk about that at
another time. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
