on am I riding at home June to you today, sir,
it's a day after Angel's birthday. It's hard to when
your birthday is on, especially for us on a weekday.
You know, you know, you can't really you can't really
go out and do a whole lot, you know, because
(02:13):
you got me up super early because the Angel's here,
like like about when I am, like at five o'clock
or four o'clock, five o'clock, five o'clock five yea, yeah,
you hear about five, five fifteen, five fifteen or so.
So you really can't go out and tear it up
on a Tuesday night. But didn't you that I.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Was not given the opportunities and tempted and uh invited.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
To Now what Scully wags tempted you to go out
on a Tuesday night.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Our great friends, Christian Reese, they were They worked at
Rondo's and that's the bar, Safford.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I call that Ryan's karaoke bar.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Is that what that is in that sense?
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (02:50):
And so they sent me a wonderful message and uh
they were there, and I was like, if I was
to go there now at the time that I got
that message, I was like, because my other buddy Ricky
was like, oh do we'll just dip in and we'll go.
And I was like, no, no, there's no dipping in
that rondas. No.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, literally, you've got days.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
You could have taken today off, you know, and and
and parted down last night.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
It's one of those things where like, uh man, you know,
so like my birthdays. My birthday's on the ninth, and
then uh ten or three years apart, my brother's birthdays
on the tenth.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah, yeah, it's good for I think my uh just
my mental kind of health of just keeping me business
work to it.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
So I'd rather be here than you know, recovering from
a hangover.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Right yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, yah, yeah, no, I get that. I totally get that. Well, good,
did you do dinner or anything?
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Or yeah, dinner, I hung out with my daughter and
then went to my parents' house for a quick second.
I'm gonna go, you know, visit my parents again today
and then and then did dinner with the guys last night.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
So that's good. Yeah, it was good, good, good, good,
good guy.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
How about you, Ryan? Are you all arrested after the weekend?
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah on a Wednesday?
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Well, you're pretty tired yesterday, still well worn out from
from the day before.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Just we should have taken Monday off. That's just yeah,
but that was Monday. Sure, Tuesday, you were good. Tuesday fun.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I was still I was still feeling a little bit.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
I was still still a little all the way into Wednesday,
I think, well all the way into Tuesday, probably a
little bit. I had a meeting after the show yesterday
that went longer than I thought. Uh, let's just say
that me and another person I respect that, I like,
we had differing opinions in a meeting and and we
handled it very you know. I was actually as we
were doing it, I was like, Okay, we're handling this
(04:33):
very well.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
We disagree.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Uh. And then you get to a certain point like okay, uh,
we we both see how we see this now? Where now?
How did I say it now? How how do we
move forward now? Because because we both see this different,
I like.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
You're handling it well. You got that tone in your
voice right now?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Yeah, yeah, I know we didn't. No, No, she handled
it well as what we both handled it.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Well.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
We both disagreed on something and we both handled it
in a very uh.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
And I've known her for a long long time, right,
so I know her for a long time.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
But we we had a this is a bit of
a disagreement, and then we got to a particular point
to get hit. No, it didn't get heated. That's what
I guess. That's the point I'm trying to make. I
had a meeting where we had different opinions. She didn't
back off on her opinion. You know me, of course
I did not either, and we both got to a
certain point where we're like, okay, now, okay, okay, now
we know how we feel. How do we move forward
(05:20):
from here? How do we get something? Yea, yeah, okay,
you see it that way. I see it there right now.
And we came up with a plan to move forward
and it worked out great, and I actually walked away
going there, Wow. I think we both just acted like adults.
I think that's the way a disagreement supposed to go.
It didn't get heated. And like she said her side,
I said side. She went back, went back and forth
for a little while. And then there was another salesperson
(05:41):
sitting there witnessing all this, and her eyes were like
this this big trying to you know, it was watching
me and this other person.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
But because they probably don't know your guys's back history, right,
so they don't know your guys is like, you know
that you guys are familiar, you've been working with each
other for over twenty years.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah uh yeah yeah yeah uh And anyway, it was.
I was very pleased with the way we worked it out.
You ever had one of those situations where where you.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Know somebody that was really familiar with I wasn't a
meeting with No.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
When you when you walk away and you're like, okay,
we handled that pretty well, didn't you get Because a
lot of times when people disagree, they go right to fighting,
right again, huh they dig in, they dig in, yeah,
yeah yeah, And this wasn't that it was anyway. So
but my point, the reason I tell that entire ridiculous
story is after that, I walked out of the bed
and I said, I do not feel like going to
(06:33):
the gym now, like like I did, like like.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I got stressed.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
I would say stressed, but you know, we have a disagreement,
a little stressful, and I'm like, I don't feel like
going to the gym.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
So I was way too tired and to not do
the gym. Are you still doing to the gym?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Ryan? Are you?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Are you getting ready for U for the calendar.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I haven't been able to work out in a couple
of weeks of my.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Your thing.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, so it's been frustrating and I can I can
feel it in me because I got to the point
where I didn't necessarily like going, but what it did
for my overall like mental health, right is good?
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Do you have plans with getting back?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
I got to find something that's not lifting weight? Oh right,
yeah for right now, probably for like a while.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
How about yoga?
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah? That yoga? Yeah, you need to go to a
yoga class.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
If you do cherr yoga, it's so easy to dip
out of that and go I don't won't do this anymore,
which is exactly what I did.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, can you still pay the monthly subscription for your shogun?
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I think I did. I think I discontinued it. I
believe I did. I think I did.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I forgot you're the kind of guy that needs that service,
where like Experience hits me up all the time and
they're like, hey, we'll cancel these services for you, and
I'm like, I only have like four and and I
need them.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
No, I gotta, I gotta.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
I bet you would save a lot of money A year.
You know what, I think.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
I think they they run out or whatever, and then
my credit card doesn't uh, you know.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
You keep them so long till your credit card you
need a new number.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I think. I think that's what I do. I believe.
I don't know what.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
I don't even think about the chair yoga app. I
don't even know how to find it now. It's in
here somewhere.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I just stop.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
It.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
But they have the gym that I go to to
overhear you know by the radio station has a yoga
class and Poppy D's wanted me to go to it,
but I just didn't. I looked in there and it
was just girls in there, and I know that the
yoga is hard, and I'm not saying that, you know.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Look, I know, I just didn't know. I didn't feel like.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
I didn't go into a class with all those ladies
and are all you know, dressed all.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
I don't know. I just didn't sit in the front, eh,
and then I'll be looking at you. I just don't.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Okay, how do I say this? I felt like, if.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
You're afraid to get a boner yoga boner.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
No I pray for that.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
No, no, no, okay does this makes sense. I looked
in the class and I'm like, this is all really
good looking women in here. And if my wife saw
that I went into a yoga class with a bunch
of hot girls, it just didn't feel right.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
So I just went on.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
And very much you should again it is it's in
my head.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah, I know old never would have found out. Nobody would, but.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
That would a weird way. You're already phrasing it.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
But in my head, it's like, You're gonna go into
this yoga class with all these hot girls here, and
what's going to happen.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I don't know nothing. You be a coke.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Okay, you're right, But I just felt like I should
just get out into the gym and and lift weights
with the men.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
The problem is that you have lust in your heart.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
No, I don't.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Can't trust herself because it's a wild bowl. No.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
I love my wife and I wouldn't wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I wouldn't want to do anything that would make her upset.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
So for some reason make upset all the time.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I do, but I try to stop it as much
as I can.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
I try to not do it, you know, and if
something come down, like oh yeah, wrestling your class, a
bunch of hot girls.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
I don't know, I just I So I walked in.
I looked around.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Yoga snitches out there?
Speaker 4 (10:03):
What do you do?
Speaker 2 (10:03):
There are so many snitches on me, right, you know?
Speaker 1 (10:06):
No people saying but you're just exercising, it's nothing sexual
about it.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Well, I exercised in another room with men lifting weights.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Like a weird big man. That's weird?
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Is that weirder's Did you always agree with him?
Speaker 4 (10:20):
No? No, no, no, I've been having over no, no, no, no,
I've been having to walk this line with you because
that's your go to when you're being ridiculous. You're just
working out. There's no malicious intent with it. You're doing yoga,
and you're gonna go over there.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Go.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
If I walk in this room, somebody's going to be
a snitch on me and tell me. Tell my wife
that I was working out in a yoga room with
beautiful women. Then that says more about your relationship.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
No, it's I just don't want anything.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
I don't anything with anything if you're literally just working out.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
I had a choice to make. I walked in. I saw,
oh my god, there's nothing but hot girls in here.
I just like I'm going to go back out there
to where the weights are and work out with the dudes.
I don't want Mariellen to think that I'm.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Telling you think I'm gay. Look at dudes. No, I'm
not looking at the dudes. You looked at him I
was lifting. Yeah, you just said they're Mushley workout dude. Fine, okay,
you go and do the do the yoga. Then I could.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
I could.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
I would have zero problem, would even cross my mind.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Russ was afraid to walk in a room full of cuafs.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Did I tell we tell the story in the air.
I don't know if he cares to tell you.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
That's one time I took Jimmy to uh yogurt one time,
UH when he and I used to hang out all
the time, and we went to the OAKA class and
he let out the biggest part. I mean, he just
ripped one. And then the very nice yoga lady, who
I guess thought was dating at the time.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
I said, that's the guilt right there, told.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
Him, like, listen, that's the way you're supposed to do it.
If you do this right, you're supposed to pass gas
uh in yoga. Did you know that everybody knows that
I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yeah, you're loosening to the muscles, you're stretching.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
You're listening, listen to listen to the right muscle.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Uh. One guy text and Service says yoga is gay.
I'm a man, it's not gay.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
It's hard.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
He's mocking you when he does that. No.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
No, I've done yoga before.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
It's difficult, and I actually sort of like it because
I'm super stretchy. I don't know if you know that
about me. I'm way stretchy.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
So the other dilimas that is going to go on
this yoga class is going to show how bendy is
and the women aren't going to be able to control themselves.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
There's that possibility.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
You know.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I'm glad you brought it up. God, I didn't want
to say it out.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Loud, but you know, I'm doing sound word doggie stuff and.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Next thing you know, you know, they're looking at like,
look at how bendy that guy is.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Look at This all goes to your you're a track
record that you dated a yoga instructor.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Man, Man, let's go to break. You're listening to the
much of the morning. Real radio is unfake in our
in our mind. No one's literally listening. We're just talking
to each other. That's what we think. I do realize
we have more listeners right now than ever. And we
appreciate everybody being there, but it's just in our mind.
(13:08):
It's just me and Ryan sitting in this room and
angels sitting in another room, and we're just kind of
a you know, shooting the s But I we appreciate
you being there. Remember, we'll be out live coming in
a couple of weeks back of New Summer in the
beach obviously, you know that's the official start of summer
that weekend, like the twentieth. We'll be there on the nineteenth.
On juneteenth, the next day is the official start of summer.
(13:28):
But it already feels like summer, you know, without the
rain man. And I know I mentioned this and it
doesn't just affect me. It affects like everybody in all
of central Florida who is in the boating life. And
you know a lot of people in Florida, the state
of Florida, have boats and water levels are so low.
And there is a out where I live, and I
live out in a winter haven out there. It's a
(13:50):
chain of lakes I know there's a chain in Mount Dora.
There's a chain you know, all over you know when
a park has a chain of lakes, a lot of do.
But I don't know the ins and outs of every leg,
you know, in all the different areas. I just know
where I live and where I live. There's a lake
called Lake Eloise. And in Lake Eloise, somewhere it's not
the middle of somewhere near the sides or whatever, there
(14:11):
is a boulder that is there and uh, with somebody
caught it on Facebook or whatever, where a boat was
going hits the boulder because now the water level is
so low, sinks the boat, the beautiful boat this guy had,
and you just see it's like just sinking. Like it's
not like the you know, not the Titanic, but you
know what I mean, It's like it's a small boat.
But it was you know, the head was up or
(14:32):
the what's that the aft you got the stern, it
was up in the air. And uh and I guess
three boats had hit that boulder in Lake Eloise.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
And you know, and sank and sank, you know. Uh.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
So I was telling Mary like that, I don't I'm
a little nervous about even taking our boat out now,
because with the water levels dropping so low everywhere, you
don't know what kind of debris is under there or whatever,
So you know, be careful. I'm sure other areas, other
places have the same. You know, Jimmy Jim Kolbert lives
out in the Mount Dora area, and they got that
chain of lakes out there, and I don't know if
(15:05):
they I mean, I guess they probably have dropped as well. Right,
Like everybody that lives in a lake situation probably is
having the same problem.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
So I don't know all the ins and outs of
the like the water table in the state of Florida,
but I guess they use Lake Okatoby to kind of
as the standard. Yeah, so state wide water levels in
Florida currently below normal, with Lake Okatobe sitting at eleven
point fifteen feet, which is approximately two feet below the
historical average for this time of year. I'm going drawing conditions.
(15:36):
I've prompted regional water management districts to implement implement temporary navigation,
lot closers and water use restrictions.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
So does that mean every lake is two foot It's
gotta be more than two foot on average.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Let's say lower.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Yeah, let's say on average, they're saying in Central and
South Florid aquifer and surface water levels are generally tracking
below historical baselines due to season. Don't just uh deficits
through regional variations.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Yeah, we go.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
We've got like a boat dock kind of a situation.
And the boat is in the dock and I hadn't
checked because I did take it out last weekend, but
I haven't checked in the past couple of days. But
it looks like now it's sitting on ground and I
couldn't even take it out if I wanted to, because
there's the water level is so down. I guess we're
supposed to have some rain this week, but I thought
we were. I don't know mu's enough to bring the
water level up, you know, for people who.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
Are get some rain overnight. I didn't notice that.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Hey, today's one of those national days.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
It sounds ridiculous, that sounds silly, But the only reason
I kind of uh picked it to highlight it with
the thumbnail today is because I went through probably for
about six months, almost a year, with being obsessed with
these and I bet nobody else did this. This is
one of those things that I don't think any well
in Niles is going to identify with other than me.
Or maybe when you were a kid, did you ever
(16:51):
did you ever have a thing where you love to
make black cows? You know what a black cow is? No, Ryan,
you know what you know? A black cow, the fertilizer. Okay,
there's the fertilizer. Yeah, there's a drink, a black cow. No,
A black cow basically is root beer and you put
a scoop of ice cream in it. And when I
(17:12):
was when I was a little fat kid, right, a float,
I guess it is, but they call it and I
don't even know why they call it a black cow, right,
they just do. And I went through this phase as
a kid. We're going, Mom, give me some you know.
Mom would say what do you want from the grocery store?
And they never put restrictions on me for eating anything,
which is probably a problem. But I would say, I
(17:32):
want some root beer and some ice cream, and I
would make black cows, you know, for my friends. I
would make it for my sister. Like I thought I
was making this. Really, I must have been eleven twelve,
ten eleven twelve or something like that. I thought I
was making this incredible concoction. Basically, I'm putting a scoop
of ice cream in root beer. But I thought I
was doing something special. Have you ever had a black cow?
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Yeah, we got to do that we were kids, and
we only got to do it one time just because
of the like historical mess that we left in the kitchen.
And my mom was like, Okay, we're never doing that again.
How can you make a mess?
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Man?
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Man, it's soda ice cream on the countertop?
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Okay, Ryan, you ever have blackout when you're a kid.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
No, no, no, you never had a float?
Speaker 4 (18:15):
It's basically rootier float.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Uh no, no, no, no, no, no, I don't even like
an ordered one. No no, I don't. I don't like
root beer. You don't like root beer? Lead with that? No,
it's what is like it has the word root in
it and just never never did it for me?
Speaker 2 (18:32):
You never tried.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Now I've tried it. Just like what's its face?
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Four Rivers has like that whole section when you go
in there and you're waiting to get your food and
they got all those different sodas and root beers like that.
Cheerwine can also kiss my ass?
Speaker 3 (18:45):
What I don't think cheerwine, it doesn't stand out to
be but root beer is pretty good. Man.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
I was as a kid, I just love Rubert. I
don't know why I don't drink it now.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Maybe because now regular beer.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
You can't put root beer with any kind of liquor
that I know of in Southern comfort, really southern root beer.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
So co you just like I tell you, Yeah, it
is a.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
It's a novelty drinker. Yeah, but like I always liked it.
Once or twice a year is not bad. And there's
some really exquisite root beers out there that exists.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Someone says, oh, a lack cow is root beer and
chocolate ice cream. I never had that. I only had
the the black cow. I have no idea why they
called it that. But did you ever have a thing
that you like when you were a kid? You you
you went, you went into this phase where you drink
(19:38):
it all the time or you ate it all the time.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, tequila, No, when you were a kid. You don't
know my childhood. No, no, no, no no, no, Look it
could just be me. These are these are things of
eating and drinking. So it was it was my way
of of party.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
And I guess we're like a black cow and I
didn't bite my friends over we're making black house?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Is a mud slider? Beer float? Mud slide? What is
a mudslide?
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Slides? Is alcohol? Nice?
Speaker 1 (20:10):
No?
Speaker 3 (20:10):
No, I'm talking like when you're a kid. Man, I'm
not talking about grown up stuff.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Were you allowed in the kitchen when you were a kid?
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Ryan was allowed in the cud.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Like we're allowed to like to defend for yourself and you
had to make something.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
There was no making though, you know, Like making food
for me was like we had cans of like the
knockoff chef boyardy stuff and I would just eat it
cold out of a can. So there's no making anything. Really. Yeah,
I never had ice cream in the house like my
grandparents would have Sherbert in.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
The house like Sherbert too.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
I went to a face Grandpa, I would Sherbert, guys.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
I went to a Sherbert phase as a kid. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
What makes a Sherbet or Sherbert?
Speaker 2 (20:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
It's I think there's not milk. Milk is that what
it is?
Speaker 2 (20:53):
I think?
Speaker 4 (20:53):
So yeah, I can't I honestly can't tell you the
last time I had a e and a sliver of Sherbert.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
So you weren't in the kitchen making stuff as a kid.
Huh No, I you know I told the story before.
I know you guys have heard it. But as a kid,
once year, I got it was a gun and the
gun had a light on it and and when you
shoot it, the light would knock these cans off of
a thing that's set up on the other side, you know,
like shooting at his gallery. And I got it for
Christmas or something, and I played it a couple of
(21:20):
times and I put it down. My Mom's like, you
don't really like that, do you like? No, not really,
and what do you want? I want a Presto burger,
And so she took me back to Service Merchandise and
I got a Presto burger and I was making burger.
And once again, I liked making burgers for my friends.
This is when I was a kid. You always liked
doing stuff for people, like you're making stuff with the kid.
So my friends would come over and I'd get the
(21:41):
Presto burger out. I'm like, Mom, I need I need hamburger,
and she'd get me all the hamburger and I'd make
burgers for everybody with my Presto burger.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
She already gave me the where they are already the patties.
Are you having to make the patties?
Speaker 2 (21:52):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (21:52):
She would get me already the patties. Yeah. What were
those called? Uh oh yeah it was affords. No, but
maybe there were a bubba yeah, yeah, yeah, And I
just put them into Presto Burger and and I had
a phase where I was Presto Burger and all the time,
No wonder I had a weight problem.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
We weren't allowed in the kitchen a whole lot as kids.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
No, nah, it wasuse. That was mom.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
That was Mom's territory. And we were like, uh if, what.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Would you do if you're hungry, you want to snack?
You ate fruit?
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Okay, okay, okay, good point. So there were certain things
we were allowed to do. We were allowed to touch
the peanut butter. You're allowed to touch the jelly. Now,
if you went in there and made yourself a sandwich
and didn't put everything back and clean up after yourself,
you weren't allowed to do that again, right, you know,
because that was a whole part of the process. You
were allowed to go into the refrigerator and get you
(22:47):
again bread and then a slice of blowey slice of cheese,
whatever condiment, and then you had to put it back
put and then put all that stuff back. If you
didn't do that, you weren't allowed to do that again.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
So would Malam would get all kinds of meats and
stuff that I would make dagwood sandwiches. We'd watch wrestling.
My buddies would come over and I'm making sandwiches and
I'd make it like the seven or eight sandwiches with
all the different meats on them and serve them like,
you know, I have my own deli or something.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
It wasn't until like high school and stuff where we
were allowed to like start cooking and kind of doing
our own thing, you know, like for the like up
until I was probably ten, eleven, twelve years old. My
mom was like she was a stay home mom, you know,
being in the Air Force, military style family, so she
wasn't working a part time until until I was probably,
(23:34):
like I said, twelve or thirteen years old.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
This is crazy. Someone texted and they said they weren't
even allowed to open the refrigerator as a child.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yeah, I know that.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Oh they're at prison now just as a kid.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
Again, this wasn't as so strict as my parents were,
but I knew the kids that were this way, and
I remember the dad saying, you didn't do anything to
earn the money that put stuff in there. Yeah, you
haven't earned anything to open that.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Hey, we're going back to the black cow making those.
Did you guys make milkshakes for your friends and stuff?
Did you guys ever make milkshakes when you were kids? No?
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah, weird, you were a weird child. Your your questions
are so funny, Like you guys don't make milkshakes for
your friends that come over and make a milkshakes? Not
you never?
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Not even so we have understand that's my reality. Like
that's what I did. So I'm asking you if you
did the same thing. So obviously no, like I would
make milkshakes and stuff.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Have you ever been to somebody else's house and they
made you a milkshake?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (24:30):
As a kid, I was never All my friends always
came to my house. I never went to anywhere because
they didn't have moms and dads. They most of them
just had a mom or just had a dad. I
went to my buddy, Scott Hawkser's house a couple times,
and his mom was never home, so I didn't have
that same experience of going to someone else's house and
living by their rules, you know, their mom and dad's rules,
(24:52):
because my house was the only one with a mom
and dad.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
I used to Maybe it's a tism, but I just
like the way my mom cooked, and I only wanted
to eat that food. So when I would have to
go to other people's houses, like say, like like we're
doing like a sleepover like a boy scout things, and
their mom is making food, get that out of my
face off, really, and I would have to sit there
and like I just just grouw, like almost throwing up,
(25:16):
trying to eat these other people's food.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
You know.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
The only other experience I can think of like that
is I would go to Ernie Vegas house every once
in a while, but they all spoke Spanish all the time.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
But they would own your favorite restaurant.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
But obviously they would cook like Cuban food and it
was amazing, and Missus Vega was really nice to me
and she would like talk English to me, but then
everybody else's talking Spanish.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
I had to help slaughter an emu one time. My
friend had this EMUs, what yeah, like and we can
eat emo? Yeah, oh yeah, you can eat emu. How
good is it? It's horrible? Oh, it's not good. And
so like in what we lived in with Kaiva and
my buddy just had these illegal EMUs in his backyard
here like twelve of them, like twelve eleven, twelve.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
And guys, we're putting down an emu.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Oh yeah, getead and cephalitis. So we had to, uh,
we had to put down this emu and then we
took it like, uh well, first of all, it wasn't dead.
We put it in the back of this Toyota Tacoma
and it means that me and him had to sit
in the back to make sure that emu didn't jump
out of the back. And this emu mean as hell.
U took it to a butcher shop it slaughtered the
encephalitis filled meat, and then we ate the emu later
(26:22):
that day, and it was one of the worst days
of my life. Did you eat at other people's houses,
like when people had a pot lux? Like I really
to this day we'll think of like, I hope there's
not emu in that mac and cheese. I don't know
what you did in your home, because I've been to
a home that slaughtered an emu. So don't like eating
other people's food. I can tell you that, mother. Did
you go to the place where they slaughtered the eating?
Did you go inside? Yes, I went into a slaughterhouse
(26:43):
one time. I still had nightmares about it. It is.
It is horrific. Horrific because they show in the movies. Uh,
I'll never forget. You don't want I don't know why.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
My dad too, And it was there there's two POGs
that he had that he named Russen car Whirl no dogs.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
It really sounded like you said.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Paul, I thought you said palm hogs, and that's how
you get down.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
It was in Carla after me and my sister and
and we took him to the slaughterhouse.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
It was I went through that experiencement. I did that
on a farm and then uh, like I remember getting
up Saturday morning super early, and they we put down
a pig and did the whole thing that whole day. Uh,
the processes of putting it down, bleeding it out, prepping
on the meats and everything. Yeah, guys, but it never
(27:33):
stopped me from eating.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Obviously, it didn't stop me from meeting anything.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Also, the fifteen textures that texted in did turkey legs
that eat at Disney Turkey. They literally they can't do that.
They would that would be illegal as an urban legends.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Urban legend, that's not true. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Hey, well, since it is National Black Cow Day and
one of our you know, one of our moderator, no, no, no,
one of our motis you. She works for Black Cow
and they always support they always support everything we do
when we have our fundraising events and stuff. So a
shout out to Tanya Morgan and the Black Cowling Champions, right,
and the Black Cow Company always donates to all of
(28:12):
our charity, so they're they're very cool. So that's another
reason why I wanted to celebrate National Black Cow Day.
But I do think of the.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
I'm not making a drink out of that lovely drink.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Yeah, I know, it's hard to combine the drink, which
is root beer and ice cream.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
We never call that. I've heard rut beer floats and
I'm looking at the definition and blackout is just a
root beer float. Yeah, I've never heard it called that.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Yeah, we called it black cow when I was kidd
and I would make it all my from my buddies,
which is funny way anyway, Oh, let's take a little break,
don't go anywhere. You're listening to the Manx in the morning.
Visit HBNUSA dot com. Okay, I know I'm all over
(28:53):
the board here at this point. Event it's the first hour.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
We just throw it up against the wall, you know.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
First off, going back to it being National Black Cow Day,
a friend of mine shout out to my friend Kim Oker.
She's like, Russ, you can have root beer and vanilla
vodka with crushed ice and it's delicious. And that sounds
that sounds like that sounds like a black cow. And
now I got to go home and get and get that.
And then I asked Ryan, I said, I wonder if
they I wonder if they have sugar free root beer?
(29:20):
Have you ever I haven't even looked in the root
beer aisle in forever. Do they have sugar free root beer?
Speaker 4 (29:25):
I'm sure they.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
And then and then vanilla and vodka does that have
Does that have sugar in it? Or is it just
vodka and some flavoring. If we've got flavor and it's
got sugar in it, does it?
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yeah? I mean at least like a Stevia base. But
generally I don't think they're doing that with a vodka.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Okay, all right, and then shout out to in our
YouTube channel, real radio monsters on YouTube. Ryan's talking to
a bunch of them. And one of the guys that
popped up is a kind of you know, we've seen
him several different times, Dave the tent guy. Right, Yes,
he's on there. Did you guys see on the news
This was a couple of days ago. We bad weather
all over the you know, the country, really a lot
storms and stuff. Did you see the one storm that
(30:03):
took away It looked like it was a forty by
forty frame tent. Did you see that?
Speaker 4 (30:08):
I don't have tents that tent stories pop up on
the little This was on nationalication. It was on National
News and it's you and yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
I noticed that, which are probably right. I'm the only
one that noticed it because you don't get news to me.
It was a nightmare to see this big forty forty
tent uh blown. It was at an event with a
bunch of kids and stuff, and in the background you
can see this big frame tent uh blown in the
air and it had all of the the concrete bat
(30:46):
I think, the anchors and stuff, and it wasn't drill,
so you're really supposed to drill everything into the ground.
Even though it's a frame tent. They say you can
put heavy weights or whatever. But but this didn't work
because whatever came through picked the entire iron tent up
with these big heavy bags.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
Wind came through Russia.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Oh my god, there were kids in under the tent
before all there was with all kinds of people in
this area, said they interviewed on this said after that
that happened, the party was less intense.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
For me since I was in the tent business. It
was a nightmare to watch. But most people probably don't
care because they didn't not in the tent business. Right, well,
I mean you and Dave, Me and Dave, Dave, I
can feel your brother if you watched that, see if
you can find it right, it's it's a big you know.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
It was telling me it was a national news story.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
It was on.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
NBC, CBS, ABC.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
It was like because yes, because they caught it on
camera and it was kind of astounding to see a
tent that big being blown away in the background.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
And I guess people got hurt because of the weights.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Hitting people in West Virginia, West by God, Virginia it
was did you find it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's see.
Look look this is horrifying. It's it's you.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Know, understand what.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
I don't know if I could show it on videos
to intent.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
I had tense away like this and it's it's, uh,
you talk about where's it?
Speaker 2 (32:13):
It's I don't think this one. Look look this big
ass tent and then.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Go, oh my god, it goes up.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
See those kids are holding a smaller tip, but look
at the big one in the back.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
That's a whole.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
You don't understand. That's thousands of dollars. That's horrific. And
you can see the weights that.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Just to be clear, I was in the business and
to me, it's a thing. Just a real quick recap
of the first hour of the show for everybody. Hey, guys,
is your lake low at your house? Tents are crazy
and you guys didn't get milkshakes when you're a kidie
to make them.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
It makes And while we did all that, Ryan sat
there with his mouth clothes looking at the up in
the in the air.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
You're right, you're correct.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
I had several topics that are fun, little topics for
us to talk about. Your job is to jump in
and to and to talk about them. That's your job,
don't mind. My job is to come ahead and talk
about stuff and for you to jump in and let
me know.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
What you got on your mind, Ryan, So what do
you got? But when it's so specific, like, hey, is
your lake? Low, I don't live on a lake, and
all the.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
People in the state of Florida that live on lakes,
we can't talk to them.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
I mean, all sixty thousand people were doing a very
specific show.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Oh there's more than sixty thousand people, sixty people. There
was definitely a lot more.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
What do you got?
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Go ahead, Ryan, ahead?
Speaker 1 (33:30):
College baseball game that happened that I know and people
got hurt.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
I have this at the farmer's market all the time, though,
to be fair, where the wind comes through and people
people like live the tent life very willing Lilly, they don't.
No one at the farmers market puts the tent on
weights like I do, well, and then a small breeze
comes through, and then I watch as a little old
lady is plowed over by a cheese tent.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
You should put it on weights, really you should.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
You should stake it down if you can, because that
you know that like I say, several people got hurt
during that whole thing. And when I saw Dave the
tent guy was in there, I thought he would he
would appreciate, you know, the topic. Dave appreciate the time
to make room for the Ryans topic that he has
this hour.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Go ahead, what you got Ryan?
Speaker 1 (34:14):
No, I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
About mine. Let's hear about yours. What you got?
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Your test dat hot to No?
Speaker 3 (34:21):
No, No, you're over there. You're just looking like a
sloth today. You're you're not talking, You're looking up in
the air, your eyes, your eyes are closer together than normal.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
I just was making a joke, buddy. It was a
joke about the super specific topics that you're picking this morning.
We're playing along, we're having fun.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
I'm telling you that Black Cow Day is an important
day for those of us who love root Bear and
our ice cream.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
I can't imagine like I was thinking about that. I
can't imagine the ass like like I think it would
have been one of the times that my dad would
actually would have punched me if I would have brought
all the kids in the neighborhood and cook food for them.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Really, it was.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
It was constant with me like my you know what,
My mom and dad liked it. They liked the fact
that the kids came over and hung out of our house.
They really but they bought all that food for all
those kids. There's all those Yeah, that's again.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Maybe it's just the fixed income and uh and all that.
But I was I was thinking about that part of it.
I was like, I can't, like, I don't remember like
sleeping over I never I didn't get to sleep over
houses until I was I was probably a freshman in college.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Really, what did you do to get molested? Then Jesus
Christ joined the Boy Scout.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
And you know the thing that makes it even more.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
As I'm older, I appreciate more and I know this
is going to be controversial people and I say, oh,
I can't believe you said that, But I don't care.
This was my reality. Where I lived is in Kingswood,
and we had a wall in between Kingswood and Eatonville,
and on the other side of the wall is where
all the black kids lived. And most people didn't allow
the black kids to come over the wall and hang out.
My parents would say, anyone that wants to come over
(35:55):
and do you want to be so I'd have three
or four guys that were friends from school that were
black that would come over and I'd make them sandwiches.
I'd make that and we'd have a house full of kids,
and my mom and dad loved it for whatever reason,
and it was I'm sure it was expensive because I
couldn't imagine doing it now.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Knowing what I know as an adult, where like especially now,
like we're a public trip, I get seven apples in
a box of cereals one hundred dollars. Yeah, I had
a friend like that. We'd all go to his house.
His parents like feed us all the time. And I'm
just like thinking, like they weren't like rich by any means,
and they would just like let us raid their pantries
and that must have been so expensive. I don't know
(36:31):
how they did that. I we're talking like fifteen kids.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
I remember it'd be like, who's coming, Who's coming for dinner? Russ,
And I'd think, well, Dap is coming, Jimmy's coming, Ernie
Mark and Tony, Okay, we'll get to five more steaks
for him, and we'd have steak for everybody, and uh,
they just loved the fact that our house was the
house they hung out with because they were afraid if
I went somewhere else, I might get in trouble. Right,
So their thought was, I'd rather know all your friends
(36:58):
and let them all feel comfortable here, and that way
you guys won't.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Get in trouble. They let you drink at the home.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Never, No, I wouldn't even.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
Matter of fact, I was uncomfortable drinking in front of
my dad even after I was twenty one. I think
it was I was probably twenty eight or twenty nine
before I felt comfortable enough drinking in front of them.
That's true story. Yeah, because I was always you know,
and I didn't drink in high school at all. I
didn't drink till I was I think I might have
had a drink of twenty but I think for the
most part, I waited till I was twenty one, and
(37:26):
I was the guy that would like drive people home
and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
But some quick up day, Dave the tent guy, really
appreciated your tent conversakid Dave.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
Ryan didn't want me to talk about it, but you know,
he likes to critique my topics. Though he doesn't come
up with any he wants to critique when I bring.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
Up he wants to clarify. Sometimes you're not allowed to
stake it to the ground, and this one was using
large concrete weights and that didn't even help it.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
I saw that.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Yeah, and then and then though, if a hurricane or
winds take that up, those weights are like really really
wrecking ball can be destructive and then it can hurt people. Yeah, yeah,
all right, listen, we're gonna do trivia when we come back.
You know what, Okay, Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'm gonna come in here.
I'm gonna start the show and I'm gonna look at
you and I'm gonna be like, what what what top of?
Speaker 4 (38:09):
No?
Speaker 3 (38:09):
No, no, no, what what opening top is you got
for the first hour? Ryan, I'm gonna let you take it, okay,
you'd be ready to go in tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Got it?
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Okay? And I will play along. I'll jump right in there.
When we come back, we're gonna do trivia. It's your
chance to win some stuff.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
So here you go.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
Here's the phone number. Four oh seven nine one six
one o four one. Uh. When you get on the line,
