Speaker 1 (00:00):
My buddy's over at WeAreBeyondABank.com. That's WeAreBeyondABank.com. They can help
you out. If you're going to buy a house, man,
they helped me. That Move Up Buyers program worked out great.
Took the equity from the home I was in in Apopka.
Took that equity and used it to buy a home
in Winter Haven. And I had to bid against somebody
who was bidding cash. But I was a certified home

(00:22):
buyer with WeAreBeyondABank.com. And, man, I was able to get
the house. And I wouldn't have done it without my buddy...
Brad Siebert over at WeAreBeyondABank. WeAreBeyondABank.com. Good people there. If
you want to follow them on social media, you can
win a $ 100 gas card. WeAreBeyondABank.com. And MLS ID number 421-593.
It's WeAreBeyondABank.com.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Thank you, Brad Siebert. Angelique the Danza Queen's here. Hello, Angelique.
How you doing?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Hello.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Good morning. And we've got, of course, Ryan Holmes here.
And now Angel is going to tell you about the
prizes we have in the prize pinata so you can
win one.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Today's prize pinata is brought to you by great friends
at Cento Family Moving and Stores. Website is centomoving.com. You
jump on that website to get a quick instant moving
quote today. Whether you're moving in your house, you're moving
across town, you're moving your business, or you need storage facility,
Cento Moving can do that for you. That's Felipe and
his crew. Again, hit up the website centomoving.com. They've moved me.

(01:24):
They've moved me. I think they've moved all of us. Yeah.
And some of us have used their storage facilities. Yes,
I have.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Oh, three of us have. All right, cool.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
And, yeah, I had to do it one time with
my son because they stored some of Ryan's stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yep. That's Cinto family moving in storage. Up first for us,
we've got a pair of tickets to see The Strokes
at the Benchmark International Arena on September the 12th. That's
this weekend. That's why I was looking at the calendar. Okay.
Up next, we also have.
Got a pair of tickets to see Orlando City SC

(01:59):
versus Toronto FC at Inter.co Stadium. And again, that's September
the 12th as well. And we'll wrap it up with
a pair of tickets to see Luke Bryan at Mid-Florida
Credit Union Amphitheater on September the 10th.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I wouldn't mind seeing that.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, that one's in a couple days. And those are
the prizes in today's prize pinata, Russ. All right, very good.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I see the lines are already packed.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
That's nice.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
If you don't have our phone number, it's 407-916-1041. So
when somebody hangs up, you can jump in there real
quick if you need to.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Who do we have that wants to play? Angelique, give
me a number between one. Actually, a couple lines popped
open because people thought we had universal tickets. You can
tell that when they drop off like that. Oh, they
just hung up. Price pigs. Exactly. So we've got a
couple lines open. Give me number one through five.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
What lines are?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Okay, four. And that's going to be Butch in Mount Dora.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Butch.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Butch, we're coming to Mount Dora, buddy. Oh, my God.
What are you, jumping out of an airplane? Can you
hear me, Butch?

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, I got you. I got you. Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
We're coming to Mount Dora to see you this Saturday.
Come by and say hi, okay?

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Come on. I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
All right. All right.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Are you ready to do a little trivia?

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Yes, sir, I am.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
All right, good luck. Here we go.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
If you get it right, you're the man. If you
don't get it right, you can pick one of these
three fellas here, ladies, fellas, to get it right for you.
We got a lady and two fellas. So good luck.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Today is 60 years of Star Trek. It's Star Trek's
60th birthday today. So I have a Star Trek question
for you. Nichelle Nichols, who played Lieutenant Ohura on the
original Star Trek... was considering leaving the series after the
first season. What famous person encouraged her and talked her
into staying on the show? A very famous person talked

(03:43):
her into staying on the show.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Who was it?

Speaker 4 (03:47):
How about Leonard Nimoy?

Speaker 1 (03:49):
It was not Leonard Nimoy. It was not Spock.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Leonard Nimoy. Who do you want to help?

Speaker 1 (03:55):
You've got Angel, you've got Ryan, and you've got Angelique
the Dancing Queen.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
I'm going to give Ryan a shot.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Ryan, Nichelle Nichols, who played Lieutenant Uhura on the original
Star Trek, she was considered leaving after the first season.
She actually was going to do a play on Broadway.
What famous person encouraged her and talked her into staying
on the show? I will tell you I know this
because in our first year of radio, me and Bo

(04:24):
and Dirty Jim went out and interviewed Nichelle Nichols, and
she told us this to our faces. So who is
it that talked her into staying on Star Trek?

Speaker 5 (04:37):
I know, like, Lucille Ball had something to do with
Star Trek being a thing at all. But I don't
know if she was talking to Michelle Nichols like that. So,
attending a horror. Famously black.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Famously black. Famously big deal. It's a big deal. Yeah,
on the show, you are correct. Big deal. It's just
an odd way to phrase that. I am famously black.
Russ is famously white. I'm famously white. Yeah. And just
phrasing is odd.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
I think we've talked about this before. And so I've
got two names stuck in my head. I think one
is wrong because it's just Dolly Parton.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
I think Dolly Parton had something to do with Star Trek.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Am I crazy?

Speaker 2 (05:22):
That feels wrong. But she just died. So it can't
be that.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Why can't it be that?

Speaker 5 (05:29):
I don't know. I feel like it's a famous black,
another famous black.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Another famous black. Someone else who is also famously black. Yeah, yeah.
Is it Martin Luther King?

Speaker 6 (05:43):
Yeah!

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Yeah!

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah, so it was Martin Luther King Jr. She went
to an event, and the word had gotten out that
she was going to quit Star Trek and go to
this Broadway play, and Martin Luther King Jr. came up
to her at the party and said, You don't understand
your role in this is so positive. This is showing
this show is showing everybody equal and you're not playing

(06:06):
a stereotype. You are like a main person on this
show for all black people. You've got to stay on
and you got to do this. And she's like, well,
when Martin Luther King Jr. has asked me to stay
on the show, I got to do it. And she
was the sweetest lady when we interviewed her and got
to talk to her. And we had her do one
of those little bumper things that we used to do

(06:27):
back when we first started every time we had a
celebrity they'd be like hey i'm sitting here with rusbo
and dirty jim and you gotta like that and she
and she did she did one of those for us
and i don't know where those are at but i'd
love to still have it but uh yeah um uh
that you know when that when that show started uh
you know back then it was really it was it
was um scandalous that everybody was on the bridge and

(06:49):
there was there was an asian guy and there was
a black guy and there was you know uh i
think you know all these different uh people all you
know doing the same jobs and and getting along was
was weird back then.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Well that was the point gene roddenberry was trying to
make would be like in the future we're just all
get along, right?

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Yeah, so, like, race, like, isn't a big thing. So
they don't tell the story of race through the people, like,
through the humans. They tell the story of race through
the aliens.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
They did, yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
So it's more subtle, and dodos would get it.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Yeah, they had one episode where it was a guy
who played the Riddler, and his name was Frank Gorshin.
And so he was half black and half white. And
then another guy comes on the ship who was half
black and half white and they hated each other.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
And they're like, why do you hate that guy? He's like,
just like you.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
He goes, no, don't you see his white side is
on the left side and mine is on the right.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
And we're different.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
It was just to show how ridiculous it is that
we hate each other.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Wait, they were doing like a half a black face? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, interesting.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
If you look it up, and the two guys were
half black and half white, but they were battling for
years because they were different, which obviously it's just talking
about the skin color. But a lot of... It's 60
years old today, and it broke a lot of grounds.
I've got a list here, and we'll maybe go through
it later, of the things that the technologies that... It

(08:13):
happened on Star Trek, and then we made them come
true because of watching Star Trek. Like the communicator, like
we all have a cell phone now. Back then, that
was ridiculous that you could have something in your hand
and talk to anybody anywhere. That was like a crazy thought.
And that's just one of the things. Yeah, that's the
episode that was obviously about race and how silly it

(08:34):
is that we don't like each other because of skin color.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
I mean, yeah, okay. That's not offensive at all.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
No.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
No, because they actually painted their faces white as well.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
And it's the mirror.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
And the funny thing is, is if you look in
the mirror, it's the same. They're exact mirror images of
each other.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Right.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
So you see yourself.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
But that's why they hated each other because they were different.
I know.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Yeah. It's ridiculous. All right. We've got, who is it?

Speaker 1 (09:00):
It was Butch. Butch is a winner. Congratulations, Butch. We're
going to put you on hold. And when we come back,
we're going to hear from you. You get to take
the floor. I want to remind everybody that Butch is
out in Mount Dora. We're going to be in Mount
Dora this coming Saturday. It's the pit masters and pours. Uh,
we'll be out there with, uh, we got bands that
will be performing like, uh, Naomi Bradshaw and the.coms and

(09:21):
the Thompson square, uh, we'll be performing. We've got, let's see,
a college football is going to be on the big screen,
all kinds of beer and bacon and barbecue. It's free
to attend. And also free MWO wrestling. So if you
want to see Amber Nova defend her title, you got
Onyx the One along with Tuna Tim defending their title.
Poppy D will be wrestling. Myself and Angel are going

(09:44):
to be your MWO announced team. So it'll be a
lot of fun. And I also will be out there
for the Carla K Cancer Screening Fund trying to raise
money to pay for more cancer screening for people. So
if you want to stop by my tent, that would
be great. We're going to auction off the belt that
has been signed by Amber Nova. Hollywood, Haley J and
Teal Piper. The one we have and she is not

(10:05):
going to have it come Saturday. Cause I am, I'm
going to auction it off to try to raise that money.
So we got that going on and I got my
children's books and a bunch of other stuff.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
It's a great, it really is a great time. Like
the food there is amazing.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Last year, I got to taste a couple of different
places and they had a burger making.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Contest, which was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
So you don't want to miss that.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I like that you eat burgers now.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
I love burgers.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Well, that's good. That's good.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
All right. We'll catch up with, we'll catch up with
Butch when we come back.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
You're listening to the match of the morning. I thought
of something this morning since it is a national star
Trek day. On national TV, NBC, they're smart people that
usually are the anchors and announcers and everything. Called it

(10:56):
Star Trek. And I'm like, man, you know it's not
Star Trek.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
It's Trek.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
And it drives me nuts when people do that. But
if you wanted to start your own, I don't know,
your own science fiction TV show and call it Star
Trek and spell it T-R-A-K. K or CK, however, you know,
Star Trek. I wonder if you can get away with it.
People wouldn't know the difference.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
Not without being sued. Yeah, it's too close. You think
it's too close?

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Even if they spelled it differently? Yeah, because it would
cause confusion of the brand. People don't know how to
say it already.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
The only people that get hung up on that is
sticklers like yourself.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
I know.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
You represent the minority in the sense of having that
argument every single time. Every year that we do this
and every year that it's Star Trek Day, you make
it a point to Star Trek us correctly.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
Who's your favorite Star Trek character? Because mine's Chewbacca.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Who's going to take the floor, Ryan?

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Butch is going to take the floor, and that's thanks
to Corey at Core Flooring, where right now Corey is
offering 10% off, starting at $ 1 per square foot for
all Monster listeners. Plus, he donates $ 50 to the Carla
K Cancer Screening Fund. If you say, hey, I heard
about you on them Monsters, bam, thus making you a hero,
because technically you're donating to Rush's charity, which we help

(12:17):
people get screened for heart disease and cancer, and that's
a good thing. And Corey's been in the business for
over 20 years. He's got a huge selection of made-in-the-USA
waterproof laminate, vinyl planks, and wood flooring. It's an absolutely
beautiful showroom over there on State Road 436 in Winter Park.
And you can check out everything online at coreflooringfl.com. And now, Butch,
you have the floor.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Hey, Butch, what's up, buddy?

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Not much, not much.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Thank you, Ryan, for helping me out. I appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
Don't thank me.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Thanks to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
All right.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Who's famously black.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Yeah, famously black Martin Luther King. Much like, no.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Anyway, Butch, how long have you been listening to the show, buddy?

Speaker 4 (12:54):
1999, Russ.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
God bless you. Thank you very much for still being there.
And how long have you lived in Mount Dora?

Speaker 2 (13:02):
For a year.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
We built a new home just about a year ago.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
How do you like it?

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Uh love it yeah it's just such a nice place
easy to get around.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
It's beautiful yeah yeah it really is we were actually
before we went to winter haven we were trying to
find something on the lake out in mount dora i
couldn't find anything on the lake that that we could
afford because it's a you know a lot of people
love mount dora so i'm glad you're i'm glad you're
digging it we'll be there this saturday so come by
and say hi if you get a.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Chance certainly will certainly will so.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Uh what do you do for a living uh butch.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
I'm an investigator inspector for ACA, the Agency for Healthcare Administration.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Okay, so who is it that you got to bust?
Who is it that you're investigating? Who is it you're
looking for?

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Well, my side of things is life safety. So mine's
more to make sure the building is safe, cover four counties. Okay.
And hospitals, surgery centers, nursing homes, birthing centers, those types
of facilities.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
So how did you find that particular, you know, job? Like,
how did you wiggle into that? Like, you didn't start out,
I'm sure, because most of us haven't even heard of
that job.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
How did you find it?

Speaker 4 (14:19):
I retired deputy fire chief from Ocoee Fire Department. So
I was in the fire service for 31 years.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Oh, God.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Were you burnt out?

Speaker 4 (14:28):
No, no. It was just trying to take a nice pension.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
That was a bad pun, just so you know, Butch.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Get it? Burnout? Firefighter? Anyway.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Solid timing.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Angel, a question for Butch, who's a former firefighter and
now works as an investigator.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Butch, I'm curious about the specifics of your job, just
because we're having a real big issue here in the
whole entire state of Florida with buildings being And their
state of codes and a lot of these buildings being
not being able to pass. Is your focus the actual
structure or is it different than that?

Speaker 4 (15:07):
It's a little different. It's more the life safety issues.
Fire sprinklers, fire alarm, generators, those types of just making
sure that facilities are safe. For the residents and patients that- Gotcha.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
A few years ago, with one of the last hurricanes,
we had an issue down South Florida area where one
of these retirement communities didn't have, or nursing homes, their
electrical backups failed.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
That's correct.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
That was in 2017 down in Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
That was a very sad situation. Gotcha. Okay.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
And, okay, so thank you for your work as a firefighter.
I think we should thank our firefighters and police officers.
So what would you like to plug and promote and
tell us about?

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Just promote the state for what they do to oversee
these residents and patients that can't fend for themselves. Just
make sure they're in a safe environment.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Okay. Very nice.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
All right, buddy.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
What prize did he take with you?

Speaker 4 (16:12):
I took Luke Bryan.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
It'll be a good show. You have a great time.
Thanks for listening since 99. We appreciate that, and have
a good day.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
All right.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Thanks, Russ. All right. You take care. There you go, Butch.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Hey, going back to the question was about a Star
Trek question, because today is Star Trek Day.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
It's been around 60 years.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
There are 10 different things that they credit, the kind
of technology they credit Star Trek for. being able to
actually be around, you know, because it was envisioned on
the show. What's something you think of? I mentioned the communicator,
the cell phone that was, you know, at that time
it was ridiculous. I think you could walk around with
a little box that you can talk to people on.

(16:53):
iPads are another thing that showed up on the show.
And the people were using iPads, little flat screen things
they held. That was another one. The tricorder is another
one that they had on the show. portable medical scanners.
They have those now. Lieutenant Ohura's earpiece. She had an
earpiece in.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Or earbuds.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
It's the earbuds now. At the time, it was like
that wasn't even around. We have lightsabers now. The computer,
that's a different show than Star Wars. Uh, the, uh,
the enterprise computer was sort of like Alexa or Siri.
You know, you can ask it any question and it
can answer computer.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Uh, video communication. Well, like, uh, FaceTime or zoom. They
had a sex robot.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Uh, they did.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Did they have a sex robot? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Data. Oh, I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
I didn't watch that particular series. The Next Generation?

Speaker 2 (17:50):
No.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Oh, it's a far superior show to the original Star Trek.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
I disagree.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Star Trek actually is the one that did all this.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
I love The Next Generation. I'm a big fan. I
recently got Paramount just so I could watch it.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Automatic sliding doors are because of Star Trek. But on
the show, they didn't actually work. They had to have
two people open the doors and close them, you know,
to make.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Yeah, there weren't like Obi-Wan where he could just do
it with his hands.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Right. All right. Let's see.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
What else do they have here? Universal translator.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Universal translator. So if you want to speak to a Klingon,
you could talk into your phone and then it would
speak for you. Like that was something that started in
Star Trek.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
I have that.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
And you just have uncomfortable interactions in German restaurants. like
so slow but we have it did it work yeah
yeah it works yeah but just it's not uncomfortable to
use yeah i would like to get a bratwurst please
and then they have to talk and then it messes
up and like can you please talk again i'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
We're close is from the original series the only i
think the only cast member that's still alive is captain
kirk I don't know that.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
I mean, I know that... No, Sulu's alive. Sulu, you're right. Yeah,
you're right. Sulu's alive, yeah. Oh, hey. He's got that catchphrase.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Those two, and they didn't like each other. Famously didn't
like each other. And those two, they're only two that's
still around.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Yeah. Sulu's... I guess he has a team.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
But he's got like... He's always on social media.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
That's funny. Just hit me now when you're talking about
Star Trek. So, Russ is a die-hardcore, the original series
and everything. Yeah. I think I... I'm familiar with it
because of pop culture. I can't honestly say I've ever
seen a whole episode of that era of it.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Really?

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Never. Ryan's a fan of one of the- Next Generation.
Next Generation, right?

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Captain Picard, baby. That's my captain. John Luke Picard.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Now, I will say this, and I'm probably going to
die on this all by myself, but in my own
personal opinion, the best Star Trek movies are the ones
with Chris Pine. Those are the ones that... Oh, I
like those too. Those are the ones that... The J.J.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
Abrams ones.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yeah, so my whole point of reference for that is
that window of them. Because I always found it convoluted,
all the different... Because there's like 19 different TV shows
of Star Trek, and so I never knew which version
of it I was watching. So I never got into
any of those. Again, and like I said, with the
pop culture references, I know Captain Kirk and Dr. Spock.

(20:17):
I know that from pop culture, but I've never seen
one of those episodes. Now, Dr. Spock was somebody different.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Dr. Spock actually had books out in the early 70s
about having babies and stuff.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
He was like a... Oh, he wasn't called Dr. Spock? No,
he wasn't Dr.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Spock.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
He was just Spock, right? He was Spock, yeah, yeah. Whoops.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
The people got that confused back then, too. Dr. Spock
was a different guy, and it was like a baby
doctor that was very famous back at that time. But
when I was a kid, Star Trek would come on
right before it was dinner time, and my dad hated it.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
He's like, why do you watch a stupid show? He
didn't get it. He didn't like it.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
I don't know why he didn't like it. He just
didn't like it.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
But I always always loved Captain Kirk. You know that
even as a little kid, he was my favorite. And Ryan,
you need to go. And I know what you're doing.
You need to go and change the the YouTube thing
because you put Star Wars and I know you did
it on purpose.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
You jackass. And it's Star Trek Day. What a bunch
of snitches. I saw that person text it in. We
can't have any fun.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Thanks.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
Oh, my goodness.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
You make us look like a bunch of dum-dums.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
It's Star Trek.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
No, no, no. It's not Star Wars day. Everyone knew
what was going on. Oh, boy.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
Okay, I fixed it. There you go. We can't have
fun around here, you snitching-ass YouTubers.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
How about that?

Speaker 5 (21:30):
Hey, the force be with you. Why don't you force your.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Way out of here?

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Listen, Star Wars has their day.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
They do.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
May the force be with you.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
May the force be with you. Actually, look.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Star Wars gets more attention than Star Trek.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
We don't ever do Star Wars trivia on May the 4th.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
I think we have it's probably because I feel like
it's Star Trek versus Star Wars and you know me
I gotta pick a side and I'm side Star.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Trek who's the main character of Star.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Wars What's his face?

Speaker 5 (22:01):
What's his first name?

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Darth Vader.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
No, Darth Vader. Darth Vader's the star of Star Wars? Yeah,
he's the star. No. Darth Vader. No, it's his son. Yeah, Luke.
Luke Skywalker.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
I know, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
Luke and he's nuts. Oh, got him.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
All that. Got him. Oh, Chekhov is still alive.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Hey, check off the list that I got him. I can't.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I can't. Chekhov alive. Shulu's alive. There you go.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
Spot dead wharf alive have.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
You ever watched the next generation have you ever tried
it i did i didn't like it just because i
like captain kirk i like spot.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
When would the next generation when would that have been
on like.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
What era 80s 80s into the early 90s yeah is
it what was it competed against uh xena warrior princess
i think.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
I was watching xena for sure i know yeah uh
i i don't know i they i'm trying to figure
out what what was i what what like what was
i watching that i was for the reason i wasn't
watching this you.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Were busy banging chicks that's the problem.

Speaker 6 (23:08):
Uh i never really watched it my dad watched it
all the time and that was like my dad's tv.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
Time star trek star trek and then my uncle as well.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
The original or the one he's talking.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
About Probably both, to be honest with you.

Speaker 6 (23:19):
I don't I don't know. I just remember it being on.
I didn't know that there were two separate things. I'm
sure he does.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
But my uncle collected, like, the ship.

Speaker 6 (23:28):
My uncle was into collecting all the different, you know,
things and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
That's what I want, though, from Star Trek Universe. On
the spaceship, they had this holo.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Room, right? Was it in the original Star Trek? No. No, okay. Well,
the next generation had the holodeck.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
Hologram, yeah. And you could just go in there, and
they would have, like, separate adventures. Sometimes there would be, like,
a period piece because the– the machine broke and then
uh they're stuck in there you know what i mean
but i want the holodeck for sex stuff they never
used it for sex stuff but i feel like the
holodeck would mostly be sex stuff right.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I don't know uh you right now no i don't
think so not in space holodeck you're telling me would
just be like adventuring through the wilderness no it'd be
sex stuff all day long.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Oh, okay. So that's like having the Oculus, right?

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Do you do sex up with your Oculus?

Speaker 5 (24:18):
Of course I do.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Oh, okay. Does it do other things? Is that really? Oh,
it's interesting. What does it do? All right. So I
could tell you that when, so if that show started
in 1987, in 1987, I'm watching A Different World. Oh yeah, definitely.
That's my time. You could call Star Trek that.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
It's a lot of different worlds.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
True, however, no.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Mostly not.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
Yeah, no, Jean-Luc Picard for me always just seemed like
a cool guy, but he's been 1,000 years old my
entire life.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Yeah, but Captain Kirk was banging everybody and everything. That
was Jean-Luc Picard.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
It don't matter what planet, if she was green, he
didn't care.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Jean-Luc Picard would come out like a robe, just a
downstairs covering robe, and he'd be like, oh, computer.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Record this sex session was.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
He hooking up with chicks like oh yeah he was
a ladies man i never watched it enough to know
i i saw one of their movies or whatever when
they did a crossover where captain kirk went and met picard.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
And they did something did they have.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
The borg in the in the first episode no no
oh the borg that's the scariest villain of all of
me of all of like literature yeah like i'm like
the book because the borg is kind of what we're
making right now it's a technology-based life form the collective
right yeah but you could shoot it we could only
shoot it once because it would adapt to your laser
and it would take you over and you become part
of the borg and then you get seven of nine

(25:38):
later who's a hot ass half board all right.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Uh you're listening to the match of the morning pitmasters
and pourers come by and say hi it is uh
free to attend and it's always a great time in
mount dora willis up and of course we're after you
know a It's the unofficial, you know, end of summer,
but we're in Florida. We kind of have summer until November, right?
Like summer sticks around for us. It's not really, you know,

(26:03):
and then the whole, you know, you can't wear white
after Labor Day thing.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
That's not a thing anymore.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Okay. Do you know why?

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Why?

Speaker 2 (26:10):
It started.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
What did it come from?

Speaker 5 (26:13):
You're banging after Labor Day and nobody's virgins anymore and
you can't be wearing white anymore.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
No, that's not it. That's not it. Angelique, what do
you think?

Speaker 3 (26:24):
I know this and it's not coming to my brain.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
We talk about it every year.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Why we can't wear white anymore.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Yeah, where does that come from?

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Why do I feel like it's back in like.
I don't remember. I thought it was like Queen Victoria time.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Okay, but spit out what's the first thing that comes
to your mind? Why do you think that they said
you can't wear white after Labor Day?

Speaker 3 (26:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Angel, you want to take a guess?

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Because of the food that you eat on Labor Day weekend.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
Hmm.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
So you can't eat hot dogs and stuff. You can't
wear white.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
You don't want to get mustard on your white outfit.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
No, it was considered a faux pas to wear white
after Labor Day because if you wore white after Labor Day,
you were indicating that you were still on vacation and
you weren't going to get dirty. You weren't going to
get your hands dirty or anything. So it was considered like, oh,
you're still on vacation. So this was back in the
19th century. When's the Gilded Age? Is that when you

(27:26):
were talking about? That's the early 1900s.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
The early 1900s.

Speaker 5 (27:29):
You know, the Rockwells and all them.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yeah. If you wore white after Labor Day, you know,
they said, well, I'm still on vacation, so I'm not
going to get dirty. I'm not going back to work.
So that's why it was. Now it's ridiculous. Like people
still wear white.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Yeah, people wear it now. It doesn't mean the same thing.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
I can't think of any scenario outside of, let's say,
you were going to a high-end function. where in my
lifetime I've ever even, like I was- Thought about wearing white. Yeah,
I was always aware of it, but like I said,
you know, majority of my life I lived in southern
states because of my dad's career. I've never, like it's
always been a trivia question, but I've never ever seen
it in practice.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
To wear white or that people don't wear white?

Speaker 2 (28:12):
To follow that, not wearing white. I remember when I.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Was younger, my mom would say something about it.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
Oh, was she really?

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Oh, it's after Labor Day.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Can't wear white.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
You really shouldn't be wearing white.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Yeah, I don't think they follow that in the Caribbean
at all.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
But now it's not anymore.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Anyway, so it's considered the end of summer, but everyone's
sort of still in summer mode until probably... What, October
15th or so?

Speaker 4 (28:43):
At least.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
I mean, what do you mean summer mode?

Speaker 1 (28:45):
I mean, going to the beach, going out to the lakes,
all the stuff that we still do here in Florida.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Yeah. Until there's that first drastic weather drop, I think
people go all the way. I mean, there's still people
that go to the beaches in December. Not necessarily, let's say, sunning, but,
you know. Yeah. Well, not sunning. A poolside I can
understand because of the air temperature. Yeah, the water gets cold.

(29:10):
The water gets too cold. I can see that.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
When is actual fall? When can you start decorating for fall?

Speaker 5 (29:17):
You can already.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
September 23rd is fall. Yeah, when do we do the fallback? Oh,
is that when it is?

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Oh, well, we don't do that until like the same
week as Halloween. We don't fall back until October?

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
What?

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Yeah, it's right around, isn't it right before Halloween? Wait,
didn't we end it again? Well, that was in. You're right.
That was in motion. That was the one thing that
I was happy.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Daylight savings ends November 1st.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
November 1st so after no way so after halloween that's
crazy so yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
I thought we're gonna change the date is it what
does it seem like.

Speaker 6 (29:52):
It's further back that is way further back i mean
i thought.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
I'm just doing revisionist history right it's that week it's
always been that week uh of wow of halloween and
uh yeah man i would.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Have lost same here Copious amounts of money. I would
have bet like sometime in early October. But I thought
there were legal wranglings going on to make it so
we're not going to go back. It's not happening this year. Oh,
it's not going to happen this year? Yeah, we're still
going to have to do the fallback thing.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Yeah, we're like a year away from that. We're Americans.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
We should never fall back. No time left behind. Let's go.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Woo!

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Hoorah!

Speaker 5 (30:24):
I guess you guys don't love America.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Did you have a good Labor Day weekend, Angelique?

Speaker 6 (30:32):
I worked.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
Oh, you worked all the time.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
I did, but I worked.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
So, I mean, it was a good time. I was
out dancing, you know, out on the streets of universal
and doing your dancing business, doing my dancing business.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
I thought about going to the beach on Sunday and
then I got called in work and then I went
to work.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Man, I haven't been, I haven't been to the beach
in a long time. Like, you know, cause I, where
I live on the lake, I'm just like, I'm happy there.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Yeah, you've got water there. You don't need to go
to another beach.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Yeah, I haven't been to a beach in a long,
long time. Would it be really difficult for you to flip,
like switch up your boat and drop it in the ocean?
You know what?

Speaker 1 (31:07):
I've been told that it can go in the ocean.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
The whole thing is aluminum.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
It's aluminum.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
I was told it would be fine, but you're still
running salt water through that engine, which is a virgin engine.
It's never had salt water in it. So I prefer
not to.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Would you just rent a boat?

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah, I'd rent a boat. Oh, speaking of which, were
you going to rent a boat this weekend?

Speaker 2 (31:32):
We're going to talk about that later. Oh, that's part
of his bit. Okay.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
All right.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
I thought you said you were going to go boating.
I could take my pontoon to other lakes. I could
take it to the ocean, but you get that salt
water in. And I know you can flush it out
and everything. I just feel like once you've put salt
water in it. You've got to give it a boat douche. Yeah,
even the boat douche. I don't know if it works
all that great. And I love this boat too much.

(31:56):
I don't want to get it all salted up. Would
you ever put it on a trailer and take it
to another lake? Or is that too much trouble? If
I want to, I can. You could bring it to
Mount Dora.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
I could.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
But the guy that I bought the boat from, he
told me if I ever needed a trailer, I'm welcome
to use one of his.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
He's very sweet. But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Come on, bring it to Mount Dora, and then we
can all go out on the boat after.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
That sounds like a blast. Let's go on the old
Lake Dora.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
That's a lot of work. Go to Lake Dora. Oh,
come on, Russ. I thought you... Old Black Coat can't
do it.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Whatever. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
It's fine.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Don't get invited over for the first time.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
How much work are you doing on that boat on
the regular?

Speaker 2 (32:38):
How much what?

Speaker 5 (32:38):
Because people are trying to top me into buying a
boat over the weekend, and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
You have to know thyself, Angelique.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
And one of the things I know about myself is
my ADD is such a disaster that I can't have
a boat. It requires a lot of cleaning and maintenance.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
That's my favorite thing.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
But how much time a week are you spending doing
the cleaning and the maintenance part?

Speaker 1 (33:01):
I went down every day, and I said, Mary, I'm
going to go clean the boat. She's like, you just
cleaned it yesterday. I'm like, I know, but I just
want to make sure. I like the special spray. It
smells good. I like to make sure it looks brand new.
I clean the outside. I got this other spray you
can put on, and it makes sure there's no water
marks on this. Oh, I love that.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
I do want to say your top was dirty, though,
when we went out there. I was surprised by that.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
The top wasn't dirty. The boot was a little dirty.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
The boot?

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Yeah, the boot is the part that goes over the top,
you know, that you tried to unzip.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
And you unzipped it.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
Oh, no, you're like stained, like my car, like it
stains on the top of your canopy.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
No, I'm not. You're just trying to drive me crazy.
I'm not driving you crazy. He is lying right now.
I'm not. You are a lie. I wish I was.
You're a lie.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
I looked.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Go put the top up and look up.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Matter of fact, I did this weekend because I was
cleaning it. There's a big white stain up there.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
I'm like, how'd you do that?

Speaker 1 (33:55):
That was a bird poo-poo.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
I mean, that happens, you know? It shouldn't happen if
you're out there cleaning it every day.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
I was surprised what a dirty top you had.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Yeah, well, anyway, I enjoy cleaning it.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
But if you don't like cleaning your boat, then you
would just have a messy boat all the time.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
Yeah but like yeah exactly and there's lots of people
that do that i was i was out at dock
over the weekend i was looking all these boats there's
there was left different levels of care given to various
levels of boats yeah uh also like uh where i
was at out in claremont their lakes were like low
low is your lake still low no it's good and
high okay yeah the ones.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
The ones downtown are pretty high look what i got
look what.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
I got oh boy i got more of these to
go take on the boat no don't say it every
bridge every bridge i gotta make sure every bridge has
a bumper sticker.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
You're saying this again that's part of his is because
this is again apparently so the thing is is that
apparently uh they don't like that stuff on any of
their bridges and russ just disregards the rules and keeps
going by and puts them back up Oh.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Gotta advertise the show, boys. Gotta advertise the show. It's
all about the business.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Yeah. Maybe do some graffiti.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Nah.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Bumper stickers are fine.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
All right.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
We're taking a little break. We'll come back. We'll find
out what's going on with Angel and Monster Sports.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
You're listening to the Monster of the Morning.
