but pit tickets, and that's.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
October twenty third. It's be Okay Center tickets available bokcenter
dot com. We'll see what Lindsay wants to talk about.
We got our top five songs today, Top five songs
with color in the title from Listener, Held with the
Purple crayon, Oh Crown, and pretty Psyched to talk to
Kenny Wayne Shepherd today. See I've now said it out loud,
(03:36):
So manifestation doesn't work on the show. That's the complete opposite.
Whatever manifestation, manifestation is the exact opposite happens, at least
when it comes to guests. That's for sure. We say, surely.
Speaker 7 (03:53):
Won't people will know we're joking about killing dogs with
ana freeze?
Speaker 8 (04:00):
Surely?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Uh yeah, so that's supposed to happen today. Uh. Speaking
of tickets, now, we don't have any to.
Speaker 7 (04:12):
Give away, but I cannot believe, actually I can the
complete debacle of getting Cross Canadian tickets right. It is
an absolute debacle. So for those who don't know Cross
(04:34):
Canadian Ragweed, Stony LaRue, Troubadours, and.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
I want to say Mike McClure, but I could be.
I think you're right.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
Are doing a show in still Water in April, people,
psyche it's in that world. It's a massive deal. People
like they've all the hotels are sold out like it's
crazy hotels, Airbnb, Yes, yes, And it's so big that
they've added not one more show, not two more shows,
(05:08):
three more shows. So now they're playing Thursday, Friday, Saturday
and Sunday.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
It's a weekend event.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
It's and they probably could add more shows.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
They could.
Speaker 7 (05:23):
They could easily do a week long event, play every
day Sunday through Saturday, and I bet you, I bet
you would sell out every day. So there was so
much uproar about the first two shows, the first show
and then the second show selling out because they said
it was just kind of handled poorly and scalpers whoever
(05:45):
bought them, and then they were on resale on reseal
pretty fast. They added these two shows like we've added
a couple of layers. I'm not gonna say they didn't
try to curb it. But so then yesterday these other
two days, let's go on sale and I literally watch
people for over ninety minutes try to get in to
(06:06):
get tickets, and I don't think they ever got any.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (06:09):
I've seen on Facebook people waiting in line in Q
in line essentially for three four hours and still not
getting anything. Reports of people like in the queue then
like oh you're number one, and then all of a
sudden you're at the main side again getting kicked out
and them calling the box offics and like ah yeah
(06:29):
they had to reset the q Gigi.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Not cool.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
No, it's like Taylor Swift madness.
Speaker 7 (06:35):
No, this is different. That was a different thing. This
that was this isn't being handled by Ticketmaster, right. I
think what she means is like just the sheer men
as im getting the tickets and how popular it is
and shutting down crashing sites like well like Taylor would Again,
I don't think that's a fair comparison. I think they're
(06:56):
apples and oranges. The ticketmaster system should is a global system.
The system that they're using for Cross Canadian is not
a global system.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Right, It's all right there.
Speaker 7 (07:05):
Yeah, So I don't know if they matt dramatically underestimated.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
I think they did. I think they did.
Speaker 7 (07:11):
To put add three more shows means they knew this
was a possibility and that they that was a thing.
They don't It doesn't feel like something that comes together
at the last minute, no nose. You got to deal
with a lot of logistics to make that happen for
so many days in a row. So it feels like
they had a good whiff of that. But I know
(07:32):
some people that are pissed. Yeah, absolutely been waiting all
these years for this type of show and then they
can't even get tickets.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I can't say is that I'll blame them.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
You know, you sit in line for hours and hours
and hours and then you're up next.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Oh wait, you gotta go to the back of the line.
You can go after yourself.
Speaker 7 (07:54):
Yeah, keep in mind, now it's possible someone's buying will
go sequential nights. The state for a concert I think
holds like fifty thousand.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah, that's a ton of people for and I don't
need the text like who are a really big deal
in Oklahoma? I understand that. I understand that.
Speaker 7 (08:14):
But the idea that this like four nights sold out,
it's it is a crazy big show. Yeah, I tell Gimbi,
I'm like, this could be a summer show that traveled
like every year they do it.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
I hope it does.
Speaker 7 (08:27):
I hope they do, and I hope they do it
in another place besides you know, Boom Pickings Stadium. I
understand their connection there, and there's still water connection and
blah blah blah. But take it on the road. You
could go you know, you can sell out the Bok Center.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Easy, easy.
Speaker 7 (08:44):
Yeah, But it feels right for it to be still.
I understand, especially for the first one. But if they're
going to continue to do this thing and and and
just go on the road and be those guys, they
could easily sell out arenas like the Bok Center. I
know it's not the Chesapeake Arena anymore. Whatever it is
down in Oklahoma City or whatnot where the thunderplayed, they
(09:07):
could sell that one out easy.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
So there's two.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
Major venues right there that they could go to. So
if you count Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and still Water. Everybody
gets a shot and it may not be as I
like the idea of like a three city tour thing
in the state. That's cool too. Yeah, and then I
see a lot of people posting like if you never
saw them at the at the Wormy, then you're not
(09:31):
a don't even try to but shut up. That's like going, well,
you're not a real fan if you've never been to
a game you can't name more than two players.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Settle down, Settle down.
Speaker 6 (09:42):
Someone said, we had six people on at the same
time and only two of us got in. I waited
from ten to two to try to get tickets. Another
said that they waited three and a half hours and nothing.
Finally got tickets to Thursday only from an alumni who
had an early code.
Speaker 7 (10:00):
Yeah, that's to me that that makes no, that's really hard.
That has to be a technological problem right on the
back end now because all these they've added four shows,
so we're talking I saw correction, it's like forty thousand
for a concert at boone Pickens, so we're talking, you know,
one hundred and sixty thousand people. Yeah, they should be
(10:20):
able to handle that type of traffic really half that
if you think about.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
It, they should.
Speaker 7 (10:28):
Whether it's the difference between a football game and a
major concert like this, I feel they should limit people
on tickets. Yeah, listen, I not acknowledge the big deal.
I acknowledge the big deal. It's not Metallica, right, So
it is a major concert, but it is not that
I would venture to say that it is the Metallica
(10:52):
of the Red Dirt World. That's fine, but that's not metallic.
You can't then say it's like Metallica. Right are the Stones?
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Right? These are massive.
Speaker 7 (11:04):
Artists with global widespread acceptance where cross Canadian isn't that
So who's the I mean, I get what you're saying. Yes,
the Stones Metallica massive. That just goes to show how
big they are regionally. If they're pulling that kind of
amount of people and shutting down the internet, you know,
and selling out four days in a row, that just
(11:25):
goes to show you how massive they are locally and regionally. No, no, no,
I acknowledge how big they are regionally, and they are
a big deal, and they are. You could argue maybe
the Kings, if not the princes of the Red dirt world,
right and prince, not the artist prince.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Think of Regia, right, not like four to two with
an opiate addiction, go to Walgreen like four in the morning.
Speaker 7 (11:51):
But but what I'm saying is, I don't think that
means obviously there's some spread outside of the states. Oh yeah,
for sure, they are bigger than the state of Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yeah, for sure, they're big, and.
Speaker 7 (12:04):
Those other artists are big. What I'm saying is that
it makes no sense to try and do a show
using your mom's jalopy. They I think they needed a
massive backbone infrastructure to handle the demand, right, Yeah, I
think we're saying the same things. I'm just saying that, like,
the demand is so big that the system should have
(12:26):
started funneling down to be able to handle what you're
saying now, demand that this isn't this isn't Metallica doing
four days right right, right right, and this is the
only show they've ever done.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Think of that. That'd be an insane show. Yeah yeah,
you're talking the ticketing system. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, Okay,
I'm picking up what you're putting down there.
Speaker 7 (12:46):
They are a big deal, but as they've added four shows,
it should have gotten easier by this Sunday show. Yes,
but I don't think Boom Pickens is you know, they
can't handle that. I think maybe it's just because they're
used to They haven't done a concert there in how
long I think I read it's been it's been at
least a decade, no, since the last time they did
(13:07):
a concert there at Boone Pickings. So they're used to
football games where you're not nobody's rushing, we get in
line and flood the doors with you know, for OSU football.
That's probably why they can't handle it.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
They don't.
Speaker 7 (13:27):
It's not exclusive to Boone Pickings, right, it's the whole
They use a ticketing company or a ticketing system. Okay, see,
I thought it was all done through Boom Pickings, through
their ticketing system, and that's that if it was a
you know, because Cody went on TikTok and eat social
media and whatnots. Don't go through third parties, go straight
through a issue. If anybody else says they got tickets,
(13:50):
they're full of corap just.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Go through them.
Speaker 7 (13:53):
And I don't know how the whole internet thing works
when it comes to buying tickets. I know, I go on,
I want to here's my credit card, give me my tickets.
Casey Donahue played in twenty nineteen. Okay, and great artist,
yeah who Dickens? Great artists, just not not near as.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
As big as well? Then maybe this awake yep. Jason
Maraz played there in two thousand and five, him and
his fedora is his Bodies of Winderland?
Speaker 6 (14:21):
Is that his song?
Speaker 1 (14:22):
No? Mayor?
Speaker 6 (14:23):
John Mayor?
Speaker 1 (14:24):
What's Jason rats hold On? Does? She does?
Speaker 9 (14:29):
She does?
Speaker 1 (14:30):
What's his name? What's the song?
Speaker 8 (14:32):
Yeaheah?
Speaker 1 (14:33):
You had it right? Do she does? She does?
Speaker 10 (14:35):
She do?
Speaker 7 (14:38):
And then Incubis in two thousand and four Incubist. Maybe no,
but they're paying, they're playing a college stadium.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Bare naked ladies played what ben ben Folds? Then? Better
than Ezra? Well they got a lot of big names
going there through Dickens did did uh? And how about that?
Speaker 7 (15:00):
That was a three day weekend of bees better than
Ezra Benfolds, Bare naked ladies at Boom Pickings. Nobody looked
at that. Nobody looked at that and went, guys, something
can we throw like cold Play in there? Can we
put some another letter something Nelson? We'll save money on
(15:21):
ink right?
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Twister a weekend trying.
Speaker 7 (15:24):
To book shows, and they're like, all right, but we'll
just start with the bees, all right, very naked. The
guy at the press said, if we just use bees,
we'll get a discount on the flyers.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Yeah. So I can't imagine how frustrated fans are to
go to that show. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (15:40):
I didn't even try to be honest with you, because
I knew it was going to be a mess. My
brother said that he was going to try to get some.
I haven't heard anything about it, so I imagined that
he did not. But I said, hey, man, if if
you get it, if you get in, you get some,
you know, buy me too, and up, I'll pay you.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Best damn show in music ever in the best damn
stadium ever. Get you some. I mean, Okay. The other
conversation is they have they have never it's been a
while since they've played together. Can they can their voices
keep up with four Days?
Speaker 8 (16:18):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (16:18):
Cody can because Cody has continued on since then. I'm
just saying that is that is a fair question to ask.
I get that, I get that completely. But being as
that he's the lead vocalist, I think you'll be able
to handle it just fine. Now so far as the
other ones, you know, and they haven't played these songs,
and for damn ever, I'm sure they've been practicing, you know,
(16:38):
They're not just going to get up there on Thursday,
April ninth or whatever the hell day that it is.
And and this is the first time we've picked up
instruments since we broke up. But I think Cody's voice
can handle it. He's been touring. I mean, hell, he
was just born and raised this last year and the
year before that. It's not four days in a row though, No, no, no,
it's not a lot of tours. Don't do multiple days
(17:00):
in the road for that reason. It's going to take
a toll on him for sure. And I think at
the end of that Sunday, come Monday morning, he's like, I.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Can't say anything, but but I think for the four days,
I think it'd be just fine. And then this is
easily the best text we've had in maybe the month
of October.
Speaker 7 (17:18):
Corbyn, shut your vanilla, no country soul, have an opinion's
mouth up.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Listen.
Speaker 7 (17:23):
I think Red Dirt's awesome, But one of the things
I don't like about Red Dirt is the fans think
there's some elite music aficionados.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
All right, you know it's that hipster in them. You
get your car heart jacket. Listen.
Speaker 7 (17:37):
I've been to a couple of Troubadour shows, and I
don't know if I've seen more vests. Settle down with
your north face vest and your steamed hat, get out
of here, quit your costplay.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Okaywboy gods play.
Speaker 7 (17:52):
Yes, that's one hundred percent what happens at a lot
of these shows. Or you go to Britney Spears show
and people are dressed up like Britney. Or you go
to a Juggalo concert, Oh god, people are like it
ain't there ain't much of a leap.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
So many fat girls with white makeup. Fun.
Speaker 7 (18:12):
All right, we gotta take a break. We got pit
tickets to Corn we're gonna give away and we'll be back.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Tulsa's Morning Show is got a right back, The Big
Mad Morning Show, Tulsa's Rock Station ninety seven.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
Good morning, It's the Big Mad Morning Show. Nine one,
eight four six, Oh K M O D. You can
also text DMMS then what you want to say to
eight two nine four five.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Whose quikies are stories you may have missed in the news.
Speaker 11 (18:50):
It's time for news quakies, world news, local news, and
news that just makes you say, what the Here's corby
Gimbi and Lindsay with What's going on news quikies from
the Big Mad Morning Here.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
In ninety five, phony repair man Duck tapes man's hands
during home invasion, steals safe. This happened in the Bronx
and New York on September twentieth, around one o'clock in
the afternoon. Two crooks posed as handyman. They were dispatched
(19:20):
to repair a leak. When they showed up at the
apartment of the victim, a forty three year old man.
He let him inside, then the pair turned on him,
one of them holding a knife against the man's throat
while the other bound his hands with duct tape. They
used a crowbar to force their way into a room
(19:41):
and stole a safe holding thirty thousand dollars, an iPad
and a passport. The suspects then fled on foot and
had not been caught. Cops have released surveillance images of
the pair inside the building of the apartment. They were
talked on cell phones as well as walking outside on
(20:04):
the sidewalk. Anyone with information on the muggers are asked
to call New York's Crime Stoppers hotline.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Probably nobody in listening to us, but like it had
to have been like one of those like fire boxes.
Speaker 7 (20:18):
Yeah, okay, like one of a small log box or
something like that fireproof log box.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah, okay, Like I have a small safe. You ain't
picking it up. No, those things are happening. Yes, you
gotta get a dolly, yeah, or another person.
Speaker 7 (20:31):
I guess it's possible to get a dolly, but even
another person. You ever tried to carry something super heavy
with another person, it's a mess?
Speaker 6 (20:36):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (20:36):
Yeah, And those things aren't exactly uh they're they're they're
more square than they are rectangle. So you get in
two people to pick up a square block. It's just
it's not much room to warm shifting around. Yeah, it's
not easy at all.
Speaker 6 (20:49):
Growing up in the house that I grew up in,
we I had one in my bedroom, a safe that
was built in to my closet wall.
Speaker 8 (20:57):
A wall safe.
Speaker 6 (20:58):
Yes, I thought it was the coolest thing.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Would you keep in there.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
Like notes from my friends? It didn't have it didn't
the lock didn't work on it, so I couldn't. I mean,
I could keep it closed, but it didn't lock. Yeah,
but I thought it was the neatest thing I showed
my friends and they thought, oh, they thought it was
like something out of a movie that you would say
it was pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (21:20):
Remove the painting of rainbow bright and behind there Lindsay's
wall safe where she keeps her love letters and condoms
so her mom doesn't find them.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Yeah. Man suffers arterytair after furiously pleasuring himself. How bad
are you beating it that you have an arterytair? There's
this guy, he's fifty You're asking the wrong question.
Speaker 7 (21:44):
I'm wondering if I'm not doing it right, that I'm
not experiencing wine.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
What am I missing out on?
Speaker 7 (21:50):
There's this guy, he's fifty nine, and he ended up
going to the hospital after vigorously masturbating because he's like,
oh hell, something doesn't feel right. So he's he was
whooping it pretty good, and he says that he started
to feel some tingliness in his fingers and tightness in
his jaw. I want to make sure that I have
(22:13):
all these symptoms right, some lightheadedness as well. All right,
So little backstory behind the guy. He's got some health issues.
He got high blood pressure. He suffers from a rare
form of chronic pink rehitis. Okay, he also went on
a three mile jog the day before he decided to
(22:34):
go ahead and masturbate vigorously.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
That sent him to the hospital. So all that happens, right,
and then he's there and he's whooping, and he's like, oh, man,
I my head's getting a little light headed, my fingers
are getting tingly, and my jaw is getting really tight.
Speaker 7 (22:49):
So he's like, all right, I'm gonna go ahead and
lay down. So he goes the laid down to try
to get over what's going on with him, and he
ends up pissing himself. And that's when he's like, okay,
maybe I.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Should go to the hospital because you know, now he's
pissed himself. So he goes to the hospital. Boundaries, Man,
you gotta have him.
Speaker 7 (23:11):
He goes to the hospital and come to find out
he had an a jordic regurgitation.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Happened, That's what the doctors say.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
And obviously because he was because of his conditions and
the stuff he's put his body through already along with
you know, furiously masturbating, they went ahead and checked him out.
They were afraid that he might have had septis sepsis
because you know, pissing himself or whatever and anyhow, So
I guess he's gonna be fine now. But they just
(23:43):
you know, they're like, hey, slow down next time.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Yeah, that's impressive, right, I have. I've masturbated a lot
in my time. I'm not gonna lie, probably more than
what I really should, sometimes two or three times a day, regardless.
I have never had to go to the hospital afterwards
or had any kind of medical condition after masturbating, as
(24:09):
I tell my children when they're trying to accomplish something. Yet, yes,
you're right.
Speaker 7 (24:16):
As things get older, I'm not fifty nine yet, you know,
and I could have some of these same symptoms.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
And you haven't been going for runs. That's what's saving
me right there. That's what saved my absolutely. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (24:31):
Somebody texted in and said, believe it or not, vigorously
masturbating was on my BMMS bingo card today. Feeding raccoons
leads to house being overrun.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Say man, stop feeding the cat or the raccoons. It
takes place in Washington.
Speaker 7 (24:50):
Unidentified woman had called for help when over one hundred
raccoons invaded her home and surrounded her, forcing her to
run to her car to escape them, and that's where
authorities found her.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
When they arrived, the woman admits that she's been feeding
them for thirty five years. Wow, and it appears the
word has gone out.
Speaker 7 (25:13):
She was quoted five hundred dollars per raccoon to have
them removed and relocated. She has since been referred to
the State Department of Fishing Wildlife for further assistance. It's
in the hundreds the number of raccoons that have shown up.
And when she didn't have enough food for them, or
she was like just going to our car, they became
(25:35):
aggressive because raccoons suck. Somebody in this building that still
works here had a pet raccoon and it was awesome
until it wasn't right.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
They're cute. They're not nice though, Damn trash pandas. Yeah, no,
don't even say the word panda with them. Pandas are awesome.
I'll just say, do they get a fit? The trash rats,
that's all they are. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:04):
They are horrible animals, scavengers fighting for food. They'll literally
tear you up to try and get to like a
little crumb.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Right.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
Oh, look at the I'm just gonna give them some crumbs.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
No, this is what happened. They invited their whole goddamn
family over.
Speaker 7 (26:24):
It was like a few years ago. I might have
been like four. We had a duck in our yard
that showed up in our yard. And the girls, they
were so young, and they were like, uh, let's feed them,
like absolutely not, And I was like, what's the big deal.
I'm like, ah, because you feed one, they activate the
(26:44):
phone tree. She's like, you're being ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (26:47):
Okay, I got bit by a duck once. I had
no idea. Sure it was nice they had they had
shown one had shown up and made a nest in
one of our flower banks. I had no idea it
was there. And I was cleaning out the flower bed
and I stuck my hand in to pull out the
weeds and I got bit and I what the hell?
Just bit me? And I look there's a mama duck
(27:10):
and she was nesting on her egg. I had no idea,
that's set up a bit. All my flowers are gonna
die now because she's laying on them.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
What did you kill her and eat it?
Speaker 10 (27:19):
No?
Speaker 1 (27:19):
You played flowers behind your bushes?
Speaker 6 (27:21):
Oh no, no, no, it was in the flower beds
and I had just reached in to clean out the
flower but like the weeds that were growing in between, and.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Boom, all all right, We're gonna take a break and
we'll be back.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
The Mad Morning Show. This is Tulsa's Morning Show. Ninety KMOD.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Good morning. It's the Big Mad Morning Show.
Speaker 7 (27:50):
Nine one eight four six, oh kmod. See what Lindsey
has for Balls to the Wall Sports.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
The owner of the Jets is taking responsibility for the
departure of their head coach. Woodie Johnson said yesterday that
after consulting with general manager Joe Douglas, it was his
decision and his alone, to fire head coach Robert Salath.
Johnson said that this is probably the best team he
(28:30):
has had in twenty five years and felt it was
best to go forward in a new direction. It also
marks the first time under Johnson's ownership that a head
coach has been fired in season. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich
was named the interim head coach. New York is tied
for second in the AFC East at two and three
(28:51):
and will host the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Who they could take over first place. If they win.
It's a really bizarre take that he had.
Speaker 7 (29:00):
Now, granted he's been out of four seasons, like you
should be getting together, but you're in the running right right,
So like it feels a little weird. And he said
he had the best possible this is the owner. We
have the best possible people in place. Yeah, except for
one and then you fire the coach. What do you
think that does? I mean, we could be wrong, it could.
(29:21):
I mean sometimes things change. The story I read was
that uh, Salad was going to fire the offensive coordinator
who Rogers handpicked, wanted to be there.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Now it's all coming together.
Speaker 6 (29:34):
Yeah, well an offense is their problem right now.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Yeah, a lot of offenses are still finding their way though.
It ain't that the truth.
Speaker 7 (29:44):
Yeah, so it feels like not a fair thing. And
guess who didn't do his interview yesterday on mcafeel I.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
Knew that that was going to happen.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
We got a lot going on. Yeah, you gotta get Yeah,
you just lost a free office right right as move
my stuff in.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
Yeah, and a new era is about to start in Foxborough.
According to ESPN, the Patriots are planning to start rookie
signal caller Drake may at quarterback in Week six, the
third yeah in twenty twenty four draft will replace veterans
starter Jacoby Brissett when the Pats host the Houston Texans
(30:23):
on Sunday. Head coach Jared Mayo is making the switch
under center after the team dropped its fourth consecutive game.
Brissett had completed seventy nine of his one hundred and
thirty five pass attempts for six hundred and ninety six yards,
two touchdowns and interception, but has also been hit nearly
ten times per game. New England is a last in
(30:45):
the AFC East at one in four.
Speaker 7 (30:48):
Now that feels like a warranted reason to get rid
of a coach. Yeah right, it ain't working. The experiment
isn't working.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
Yeah, and the Steelers could make a change at starting quarterback.
Head coach Mike Tomlin told the media yesterday that the
door is ajar for Russell Wilson to take over the
starting job. The Super Bowl winning QB has been dealing
with a calf injury since training camp and was finally
able to practice as a full participant. Justin Field started
(31:17):
all five of Pittsburgh's games this season. As the team
sits second in the AFC North at three and two.
The former Bears gunslinger has completed more than sixty seven
percent of his passes for nine hundred and sixty one yards,
five touchdowns, and one interception. The Steelers visit the Raiders
Sunday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
I think with Drake starting, I think all the first
round quarterbacks are now starting, okay, and then that's usge
yeh it is.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
And the Saints will potentially be without their starting quarterback
for the next few games. NFL Network reports that an
MRI confirmed that New Orleans QB Derek Carr suffered an
oblique injury in Monday Night's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
There's no timetable on his return to the field, with
oblique injuries often leading to multi week absences. If Car
(32:07):
is unable to play, the Saints would turn to a
second year backup Jay Haner or rookie Spencer Rattler to
start behind center. Carr is completing seventy point three percent
of his passes for nine h eighty nine yards, eight touchdowns,
and four interceptions.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
This year, So that's a big deal because oblique can
be just a couple of weeks. It can be a week,
but it can also be months. It's a really hard
injury to deal with because you use your oblique so
much you can't lay off of it. And it's very
interesting that the first two games are like car with
MVP status yeah to.
Speaker 10 (32:43):
Like oh.
Speaker 6 (32:48):
Yeah, and that is your Balls to the Wall sports.
I'm Lindsay in ninety seven to five KMOD.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
Good morning, It's the Big Mad Morning Show.
Speaker 7 (33:06):

Speaker 2 (34:12):

Speaker 6 (34:25):
You got a cat because I feel something licking me.
So I have read that playing word games is good
for your brain health, keeps it young. It can improve
your attention, verbal fluency, memory and processing speed. It can
also fight against dementia and some Alzheimer's. So I came
(34:48):
up with a little game called word Connections. And how
this works. I'm going to give you four words and
you tell me the connection between the words all have
in common. For example, what are these four words have
in common? Red, purple, pink, and green color of my underwear?
(35:13):
I mean you're kind of right, Red, purple, pink, and green.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
They're all colors.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
They're all colors. Correct. Yes, very simple. So you each
get one guess and then I'll give you a hint
if you need it. Sounds simple enough, sweet, No winner
simply gets bragging rights. Here we go first for words pumpkin, monarch, butterfly, basketball,
(35:43):
orange and fire. Yes, Corbyn, things that are orange, very good.
Next four words, did you want us buzzing in or no,
you don't have to. That's fine, that's fine, you got it. Shellfish,
old peanuts, allergy very good. Your hint was think EpiPen.
(36:06):
You didn't even need it. Common allergens all right, plastic paper,
aluminum car yes, good job, gimpee.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Finally all aboard.
Speaker 6 (36:24):
Boat, cork, things that float. Yes, didn't even need the hint.
Things that float. There was also log and styrofoam in there.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
Forget the forget the hint. I didn't need the two others.
Speaker 6 (36:39):
Right, flag.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Kite, things that fly, Yes, good job.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Things that are hot. No, things that are hot, garbage, No,
things that smell funny. Things that have voices that don't
sound like that should be their voice.
Speaker 6 (37:02):
So you get one guest, So let me go through
all of the clues. What was the name Miley Cyrus?
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Chance the rapper, musicians usher attendees to Diddy's party.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
Blake Shelton.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
Was Blake on that list? People that have been on
the voice.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
Judges on the Voice. Yes, okay, motorcycle, sleigh.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Hold on a y or e I g H. That's
a good question.
Speaker 6 (37:43):
Good job e I g H.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
Things you ride? Things you said on?
Speaker 6 (37:49):
Things you ride?
Speaker 1 (37:51):
The other two surfboard and a horse horse. That's not nice, essay.
Speaker 6 (38:01):
Jalen McMillan, who's that? If I tell you who it is,
it'll give it away?
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Okay? Should I know it is?
Speaker 8 (38:16):
How?
Speaker 10 (38:16):
Like?
Speaker 1 (38:16):
How should I know what it is? Okay? Taylor Rap
who's that?
Speaker 6 (38:24):
An NFL player? Nick Chubb, ok cub c J Mosley
and Jalen McMillan.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Well, I mean Chubb is a running back. That's the
uh D lineman. They'll play for the same team. No,
they're all black. She hasn't said you're wrong.
Speaker 6 (38:57):

Speaker 1 (39:04):

all D linemen.
Speaker 6 (39:09):
No, they're all players on the injured list not playing
right now.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
That feels like a giant lump jump from colors Like
that's a pretty okay.
Speaker 6 (39:24):
Next bunch of words, ruby weed, bud light on the
touch tunes.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Things I like the most, Ruby be in my bike,
close things I spent way too much money on.
Speaker 6 (39:44):
Very close, things that Gimpy spends the most money on.
Speaker 7 (39:48):
Okay, So your your list is getting very subjective. Now
you went from like colors that are very like. That
was just example, okay, America Voice judges to now things
that can be debated.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
The injured reserve list moves.
Speaker 6 (40:05):
A lot, sure, but all four of them are currently
on the injured reserve list.
Speaker 10 (40:15):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (40:16):
It's just it's just a list, Okay.
Speaker 6 (40:20):
They all have that in common. Jiu jitsu. Things I'd
rather be doing than this, IPAs and Okra, Things that
Corbyn's all about, kint everything m things that Corbin knows
the most about.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
What was the listactly?
Speaker 6 (40:40):
Good job, kimp that's a tide game.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Wait what was that?
Speaker 6 (40:44):
A list of things Corbyn knows the most about jiu jitsu?
The chiefs Okra IPAs.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
Huh you know a lot about Okra Huh, I don't.
Speaker 9 (40:56):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (40:56):
He knows enough to say that he doesn't like it.
Speaker 7 (40:59):
That's all you need to know about Okah in my opinion,
And I definitely don't know anything about jiu jitsu.
Speaker 6 (41:05):
You know the most in this room about jiu jitsu.
That's not what your list was though, And my hint
was everything mean, Come on, okay, that fits. Word connections
for words. Tell me the connection they all have in common.
That's it, word connections. Play it. It's good for your brain.
(41:26):
Good for your brain health, fights against Alzheimer's and dementia.

Top five songs with a color in the title from
listener Harold the Purple crayon or Crown. Let's see what
Gimpi has in his four x four hope it says
here that has mass.
Speaker 7 (49:58):
Situation at LA Men's Central Jail turns deadly. One person
is dead and six others were injured yesterday morning after
an incident involving a hazardous material. Now, initial reports indicate
the death may have been related to an overdose involving
what authorities are describing as a what powder. Other additional
(50:20):
details about the substance and whether the victims were all
inmates have not been provided.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
And was it a drug overdose or what? They don't
know yet.
Speaker 7 (50:29):
They just said it was an overdose that involved a
white powder of sorts so could be fentanyl, could be anthrax,
could be cokeer meth. This is an LA prison that
we're dealing with, though, what else we got here? The
Supreme Court Here's arguments in a ghost gun ban. Justices
heard arguments in the case yesterday on ghost gun kits
(50:50):
that are currently.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
Can be assembled into weapons without being traced back through
serial numbers. The White House wants the kits to be
regulated the same as handguns and other fire arms. Chief
Justice John Roberts questioned the argument that building a gunkit
was similar to working on a car. Meanwhile, Conservative Justice
(51:10):
Samuel Alito appear to signal skepticism over the band by
asking if a blank notepad and pen could be considered
a grocery list exactly. That's the look I expected.
Speaker 8 (51:27):
When I read that.
Speaker 1 (51:30):
I mean, it's not a grocery list, but it could be.
It could be. It also could be a doodle in ach.
I want to I want to do a segment called
did the Morning Show say this? Or the Supreme Court? Right?
What else have we got here? Gold bars sell out
at Costco? Is there anything they don't sell sell out? Yeah,
(51:51):
there are plenty of things they don't sell out of.
Speaker 7 (51:53):
But I mean, I never knew you could go to
the Costco and get gold bars. I thought you had to,
I don't know, wait for a night TV infomercial to
purchase those, right.
Speaker 6 (52:03):
I think you want.
Speaker 1 (52:04):
I think they had to do it. To do it online.
You couldn't go into a Costco and buy them, right,
because they get over running. People probably rob them blindly
rob yes, I think, yeah, I don't know. They have
to checked the receipt probably.
Speaker 7 (52:15):
Bloomberg did a survey about one hundred Costco stores across
the US and found that seventy seven percent had run
out of the one ounce twenty four carrots gold boullions.
Reports said gold bars were flying off the shelves even
as the price of the precious metal has remained near
record highs. Following the success of the boullons, Costco is
(52:38):
now offering platinum bars for about one thousand dollars each,
which are only available online.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Yeah. Interesting, what do you do with it?
Speaker 7 (52:50):
Use it as a paperweight? Show your friends when they
come over. Right, how many people do you know have
a gold bullion or a platinum bar?
Speaker 1 (53:00):
None? Exactly, Because here's the thing, like, what are you
gonna do with it? Right? The times are tough? You
go see Rick at the Pasha.
Speaker 7 (53:09):
Yeah, in all the Americanism years, you've never had to
do that. Right, And let's say say times were tough
and you have gold and you go to turn it
in at Bob's pond.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
What thing's gonna happen? You're not getting what it's worth, right,
You'll gotta make money.
Speaker 7 (53:28):
To you, you'll get money. But if times are tough,
ain't nobody buying gold? And when you're trying to sell
gold at the pawn shop, resell it. Who's gonna buy it?
Speaker 1 (53:41):
Right? Right? What else we got here?
Speaker 7 (53:43):
Lastly, Afghan national living in Oklahoma City charged with election
day plot and Afghan citizen living in okac has been
arrested in charge with planning to conduct an election day
terror risk attack in supports of This is all Right.
Criminal planed alleges that the man took steps to liquidate
his family's assets, resettle members of his family overseas, acquire
(54:07):
AK forty seven assault rivals and ammunition, and commit the
terrorist attack. In an interview after he was arrested, the
Justice Parma said he confirmed that the attacks was planned
for election day, targeting large gatherings of people, during which
he and his juvenile accomplice were expected to die as martyrs.
Speaker 1 (54:30):
The juvenile was also arrested. Probably a good, good plan,
how about that? Yeah? Thwarting terrorist attacks. Well, and what
you know about nine to eleven? He took training here?
Speaker 10 (54:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (54:41):
Right?
Speaker 1 (54:42):
So are we a central hub for terrorists? Are you
a covering tomorrow? Maybe no, I don't want that association.
Speaker 6 (54:52):
They met here since twenty twenty one.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
The terrorists are ess foreigners and generals know those that
were arrested yesterday.
Speaker 6 (55:02):
The Eagles are moving on from a Super Bowl champion.
The team released Devin whitees yesterday. The linebacker signed a
one year, four million dollar deal in the off season,
but failed to earn a starting spot on the defense.
The twenty six year old didn't appear in a game
for Philly this season and was a healthy scratch twice.
(55:24):
White spent his first five seasons with the Buccaneers after
he was taken fifth overall in the twenty nineteen draft.
He helped contribute to a Super Bowl fifty five win
over the Chiefs back in twenty twenty one. The Chicago
Bears will be without one of their top defensive players
when they take the field in London on Sunday. The
(55:45):
team announced that safety ta Kwan Brisker will miss Chicago's
Week six game because of a concussion. Brisker suffered the
injury during the Bears win over the Carolina Panthers this
past Sunday. The twenty five year old has forty tackles,
a sack, and an interception in five games this season.
Chicago takes on Jacksonville this Sunday. The Mets and Padres
(56:08):
are one went away from making the Championship Series. New
York got a terrific performance from starter Sean Mania to
take down the Phillies seven to two from City Field.
The Mets have a two to one lead and will
look to eliminate their National League East rivals today. The
Padres set up the same scenario out West. Fernando Taddy's
junior blasted a two run homer in a six to
(56:31):
five victory over the Dodgers from Los Angeles. San Diego
will try to advance to its second National League over
the past three seasons. Tonight elsewhere, a pair of one
to one series in the American League take place. On
the same day, The Guardians and Tigers square off from Detroit,
while the Yankees and Royals battle at Kaufman Stadium. One
(56:54):
of the longest standing casino hotels on the Las Vegas
Strip went out with a bang. Oh as crews brought
down the Tropicana in a controlled demolition. The implosion was
preceded by a drone and fireworks show. The former Oakland
Athletics future Baseball Stadium will be built on the site,
(57:15):
and the NHL season is underway. The defending champion Florida
Panthers took down the Boston Bruins six to four in
a rivalry matchup in Sunrise. The Panthers lit the lamp
four times in the first period and held on to
begin their title defense with a victory. Elsewhere, the Utah
Hockey Club began its inaugural season with a five to
(57:37):
two win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Salt Lake City.
Earlier in the day, the Saint Louis Blues prevailed over
the Seattle Kraken three to two behind a pair of
goals from Jordan Cairou. The season continues today. The Rangers
are going to have to pay the big bucks if
they want to keep one of the top goaltenders in
(57:58):
the league, or did ESPN Igor Shasterkin has turned down
the Rangers offered to become the highest paid goalie in
NHL history. Shasterkin was reportedly offered an eight year, eighty
eight million dollar extension, which would have surpassed the eight year,
eighty four million dollar deal that former Montreal Canadians goaltender
(58:22):
Carrie Price signed in twenty seventeen. The twenty eight year
old is entering the final season of a four year,
twenty two point sixty seven million dollar contract. The Blue
Shirts open the regular season when they visit the Pittsburgh
Penguins to night.
Speaker 7 (58:40):
I was thinking about the Tropicana thing when I saw
it this morning. The number of people that banged in
that hotel? How crazy is that? How long has that
been around? It's fifties, Okay, so yeah, there's a lot
of fornication going on in those rooms. Think about all
the other nefarious things that have gone on.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
I looked it up.
Speaker 7 (59:00):
The mob right had a signature connection to it in
the seventies, Teamsters Union, Jimmy Hoffa, all that connected to
the Tropicana. Yeah, so sex, drugs, more likely affairs, and
probably more high profile you know, politicians and stuff like that. Possibly, right,
(59:23):
how about people that went in and lost their homes
or their lives by gambling?
Speaker 1 (59:29):
Right?
Speaker 7 (59:29):
Maybe people that met their partners? Yeah, right, twenty first
birthday party? Like, think of all those things a lot
of history. Yeah, just so crazy to see it and
then in a second it's just gone.
Speaker 1 (59:41):
Gone, and now it's going to be a baseball field. Yeah,
which is whatever. Nobody Maybe people bang there, I don't know,
but like I just think about it. When you see
a building gut pluged, you're like, wow, like all the
history that happened in that one place. Yeah, yeah, it
just evaporates in two seconds.
Speaker 8 (59:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
But they put on a really nice you know, drone
show and fire fireworks. Yeah, drone shows are really fascinating.
You watch them and you go, it's nice neat.
Speaker 7 (01:00:12):
You don't go like with fireworks, you go, oh, but
drone shows you go, hi, huh that's the person talking
right logo. Yeah, yeah, it has there. I'm not diminishing,
like I get it. It's really cool technology. You just
look and it's probably better than fireworks. You're not gonna
see maybe I'll see drones fall on people.
Speaker 6 (01:00:31):
I don't know, right, And that is your Balls of

Speaker 7 (01:01:38):
Little fill in the blank news. I'll read part of
a headline. You guys got to guess what the blank
part is. I'm gonna toss this up as an easy
one blank to make landfall in Florida, Blank to make
landfall in Florida. There's a lot of great memes out
there showing Milton from office space, Chase, Samantra Staples, hilarious, Wayne.
Speaker 10 (01:02:08):
Right.
Speaker 7 (01:02:09):
They told me to go down to human resources and
then he go went down to human resources and and
they told me to go back over here.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Have you seen the story of the guy online? Lieutenant Dan.
Speaker 7 (01:02:19):
They're calling him and he's gonna stay in his boat
at the dock and he's got one leg by the way, Wow,
that is it's called lieutenant Dan.
Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
Huh.
Speaker 7 (01:02:29):
You can follow him like people are like trying to
keep up with him to see if he's okay. The
mayor of Tampa said, if you stay, we're telling you
to leave. If you stay home, there's a good chance
you'll die.
Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
I've seen a lot of that.
Speaker 7 (01:02:42):
Category five. Here's the difference Category one. Uh, like, maybe
some shingles will come off, you're roof. Category five could
destroy a home. Absolutely, it is a massively different storm.
At that point, one weather person said it'll have geography
geographic change to the coast of Florida. Now, I love weather,
(01:03:04):
I love learning about it, I love following it. I
also believe weather.
Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
Men tend to be a little dramatic. I'm not saying
this isn't gonna be dangerous.
Speaker 7 (01:03:13):
I'm just saying a geographic change to the coast feels
like a really massive statement. Yeah, well, what do they
mean by geographical change? It's gonna make it wider or
maybe more slender.
Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
It'll change bays.
Speaker 7 (01:03:25):
Just the amount of erosion that happens from all the
water and when that happens can change the way the
coast will look.
Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
Okay, yeah, interesting. It's really crazy and people are like,
I'm gonna I'll wait it out right. I mean, Florida
is known for the hurricanes, you know, so people stay
there all the time. Oh, it's nothing, Oh, it's nothing.
I'm telling you.
Speaker 7 (01:03:47):
Maybe it's because I've never been in one before. But
if I've got a hurricane burial in my way, I'm out.
Speaker 8 (01:03:51):
I'm out.
Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
You're gonna see me on the highway in the evacuation lane.
So yeah, yeah, yeah, I wonder how easy that is to.
Speaker 7 (01:03:58):
Get in the evacuation line to leave. Yeah yeah, I've
seen the pictures of the traffic backed up miles and
all the lanes, all the lane, even the evacuation lane.
If you don't have a car, if they have a
liable car, eh, where do you go?
Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Yeah? Then I guess you have no choice but to
hunger down and hope for the best. I'm just saying, like,
where do you go? I guess I would go to
Kansas city, maybe where my brother, you know what I mean, Like,
I don't know where do you go?
Speaker 6 (01:04:25):
And there are some people that are so attached to
their things, oh yeah, that they just refuse to leave
their own.
Speaker 7 (01:04:32):
Here's the other crazy thing is that they part of
Florida just had that other hurricane come through. There's still
debris lined up on the street that they're rushing to
get picked up because it will become.
Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Projectiles, right, and that's not going to help.
Speaker 7 (01:04:47):
Your house stay on. Yeah, no, you get hit with
a couple dozen washers and dryers, refrigerator.
Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
Couches, mattresses, two by fours, bed frames. Yeah, anyway.
Speaker 7 (01:05:00):
Hurricane Milton is forecast to make landfall late Wednesday or
early Thursday. In the latest update from the National Hurricane Center,
Milton was classified as category four storm with maximum wins
of one hundred and fifty five miles per hour. That's
just shy of being category five, which it was early Monday,
with winds clocked at one hundred and eighty miles per hour.
Counties along Florida's west coast have been ordered to evacuate,
(01:05:21):
with dozens under a state of emergency. Milton is not
expected to have any major impacts on already storm ravaged
North Carolina as it struggles to recover in the aftermath
of Helen or Helene. Hurricane Helene Blank announced. Hurricane Helen
Blank announced.
Speaker 1 (01:05:41):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:05:44):
I want to say it's a benefit concert, No, because
I have heard.
Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
That they are putting one on a Hurricane Colling benefit concept.
Speaker 8 (01:06:02):
Eric Church is part of it.
Speaker 1 (01:06:04):

Speaker 6 (01:06:50):
Oh yeah, or maybe a chicken big Mac.
Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
What I don't know. They could call it the big Chick.
McDonald's to pick up a big chicken. I love anything.
Speaker 7 (01:07:09):

products and boost sales. The fast food chain is debuting
its newest product, the Chicken Big Mac.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):

Speaker 8 (01:07:22):

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
They're missing it, man.
Speaker 7 (01:07:24):
This sandwich will stay true to the original Big Mac,
but substitute burger patties with two tempura battered chicken pieces.

Speaker 6 (01:07:52):

lottery game. Starting in April, Mega Millions tickets will cost
players five dollars each.
Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
Other charge.
Speaker 7 (01:09:41):
Changes to the game include prize multiplier being built in
and randomly generated on every ticket sold. Mega Millions also
says there will be larger starting jackpots, with top prizes
growing faster, leading to bigger jackpots more frequently. The game
will also no longer have break even prizes, meaning now
when a player wins a price, it will be far
more than the cost of a ticket.
Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
Does that matter to you? Five dollars?
Speaker 6 (01:10:05):
Lindsay, yeah, I haven't played in a long time.
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
So how long is a long time? Mm?
Speaker 6 (01:10:11):
Probably six months.
Speaker 7 (01:10:15):
Decapitated blank statue receives Halloween brain. Decapitated blank statue receives
Halloween brain. Okay, so it's a statue that's been decapitated.
But who whom is the question? Or what did they
decapitated cat statue?
Speaker 6 (01:10:36):
Did they recently put up a Trump statue?
Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
Okay? And they put a Halloween brain in there? Well,
what is a Halloween brain? Anyway? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:10:48):
I like the Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say cat,
we got in trouble, though, I don't want to say
decapitated cat too many times? Right, Well, unless you as
long as you disclaim it that it's a joke. Okay,
that is a joke, people. Bob's Big Boy statue in
southern California is back, but not exactly what people expected.
In August, a car sheared off a fire hydrant that
(01:11:11):
went flying and apparently decapitated the statue. The Diners' Instagram
account reports it's alive and shows a photo of Bob
with what looks like his brain exposed. The brain implant
comes just in time for Halloween. Yeah, I think pretty
well make lemonade man. Yeah, Dexter Holland is a blank.
(01:11:33):
Dexter Holland is a blank. Who's Dexter Holland?
Speaker 1 (01:11:36):
Lindsay.
Speaker 6 (01:11:40):
When I hear Dexter, I think of the Serial Killer
television show.
Speaker 7 (01:11:49):
Maybe he's a young boy genius like Dexter's laboratory.
Speaker 8 (01:11:54):
Ah.
Speaker 7 (01:11:54):
Maybe I don't know who Dexter Holland is, but the
first thing that came to mind mine was Serial Killer
because of dex Yeah, Shoe Offspring singer Dexter Holland, who
is a licensed pilot, says being a musician wasn't his
first career choice. In a new interview, he explains, I
(01:12:15):
wanted to fly. I wanted to fly fighter jets when
I was a kid, and I tried to get into
the Air Force Academy and I almost got in. They
weren't gonna let me fly because I had to wear
contact lenses, and so I decided to do something else
and I went to university instead. But I always wanted
to fly, and so when I finally had the chance
to later on after the band took off, I started
flying and I just get a big kick out of it.
Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
I love it.
Speaker 7 (01:12:38):
And I have a plane and we take it on tour,
but I always take a pilot with me on tour.
When asked if it's scary being up there in control
of the plane, Holland replied, yeah, I could see how
there's two things going on. On one hand, it can
seem exciting and adrenaline and maybe scary and I'm way
up there and what am I doing? And on the
other hand, it's very peaceful. It's very almost meditative in
(01:13:01):
a way, which is kind of weird. And I love
flying single pilot. There's something about it. I love getting
away and it doesn't bother me to be by myself.
Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
Everybody wants to be a Bruce Dickinson or John Travolta.
Speaker 7 (01:13:15):
Oh yeah, yeah he would you consider John a musician
though that's kind of d sing singer.
Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
Okay, fair enough.
Speaker 7 (01:13:23):

(01:14:17):
an incredible source of inspiration and support through a life
changing era for me, so it's gonna be a distinct
honor to step into the circle for the first time.
Scott has lived in Nashville since twenty sixteen. He once
told the Tennessee And about Nashville, I was unaware until
I got into the community how big it is and
how supportive and protective they are of the people who
are sincere. When they know your heart, they've got your back.
(01:14:43):
Why is he in the I don't understand. I thought
the Grand Old Opry was like this prestigious thing.
Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
For country music only, but maybe they's running out of people.

This was a limited edition. It features one hundred pink
vinyl copies of Pink Floyd's seventy seven album animals in
places of sliced ham. The artwork was commissioned by French
artist Dennis del Francesco and built by La Bodega del Restauranto,
a company in Italy that specializes in rebuilding and refurbishing
Berkele meat slicers. The slicer was inspired by the artist's
(01:16:04):
youthful encounters with a ham vender he describes as a
goddess in a delicatessen. He said her ham was white,
pink and blonde, soft, silky and milky, the most voluptuous
hem in the world. A thousand and one times I
have devoured it. Never have I been stated. The meat

Americans think talking about money is more awkward than blank.

Money is considered a taboo topic to talk about, so
much so that only thirty eight percent of American adults
feel comfortable talking about their finances with family and close friends.
According to a new survey, they feel less awkward discussing
their love lives, weight, political views, and religious views than
their bank account balances. Just fourteen percent of US adults

conversation at holiday gatherings with friends and family. Huh, do
you guys talk about your money and finances and how
much you make at holiday gatherings.
Speaker 1 (01:17:48):
I don't. I don't. I don't talk about how much
I make.
Speaker 7 (01:17:52):
But I have a select few group of people we

I think that's different though, because you're talking about money
to save money.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
Well, that's financial, Yeah, that's financial. But how much I make.
We have some really close friends that I may have
said how much I make, but I typically don't bring
that up. Yeah, and my wife doesn't bring it up. Yeah,
there's really no need to even when asked. I mean, like,
what business of yours is how much I make? Yeah?
(01:18:29):
But likewise, what's the big deal?
Speaker 8 (01:18:32):
True?
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
I guess you.
Speaker 7 (01:18:37):
I think if you know how much somebody makes you,
their's thoughts about them change. That's fair rather than you
think so you just make an assumption about their life, right, sure?
Speaker 1 (01:18:51):
Right?
Speaker 7 (01:18:51):
If you find out somebody makes two hundred and fifty
thousand dollars a year, you might go, well, I'm never

because you shouldn't be buying it based on the if

Lisa Marie Presley was married to Elvis Michael Jackson, right,
I'm sorry, was daughter of Elvis, married to Michael Jackson.
Speaker 7 (01:22:13):
Right. She died in twenty three from a bowel obstruction,
which doesn't sound like an awesome way to go. And
she was working on a book when she was dying
before she died, and her daughter has helped her.
Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
Finish the book for her cool.
Speaker 7 (01:22:33):
And in the book there's some really crazy things and
one of it talks about marrying Michael Jackson and how
she was a mother of two already when she fell
in love with him, and she says that he told
her he was a she says that he told her
he was a virgin when they met. She says, quote,
I fell in love with him because he was normal,
(01:23:00):
and says that they were a regular married couple as
far as the child's sex abuse allegations go. She wrote,
I never saw anything like that. I personally would have
killed him if I had. Says that the couple broke
up because she didn't want to have kids with him. Okay,
(01:23:22):
so that feels like all fair things too.
Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
They weren't married that long, were they. And then that's
not even like to me the weirdest part that came
out of this book. But now her son.
Speaker 7 (01:23:37):
Killed himself and she was so distraught by him taking
his own life that she kept his casket in their
home for two months.
Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
Wow.
Speaker 10 (01:23:49):
And that the.
Speaker 1 (01:23:52):
Funeral home, the people that take it would come and
put dry ice and stuff in there. So there was
a body in it. Oh yeah, oh, which I don't
hear me out. That's not uncommon.
Speaker 7 (01:24:09):
We've read plenty of stories where people hold on to
the dead body, either keeping it in a freezer or
under a pile of blankets or something like that. Most
of the time it's for social Security checks.
Speaker 6 (01:24:22):
And stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (01:24:23):
I think it's half and half. But yeah, I hear
what you're saying. Yeah, I see the other people that
like they just can't let go. For me though, I mean,
that's gonna start smelling.
Speaker 6 (01:24:34):
Well. She said that she kept them on dry ice.
Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
What does that keep the smell away? I don't know you.
Speaker 6 (01:24:42):
Right well, I mean it was horrible nickname after the
funeral rite. So the body it had been embalmed.
Speaker 7 (01:24:50):
Yeah, it's it's still instinc I would think, uh, she says.
She writes that she kept the body in temperature controlled
room on dry eyes for two months after his death.
Now keep in mind your house, if you have air
conditioning or heat, is temperature controlled.
Speaker 1 (01:25:07):
Right, And she says that quote.
Speaker 7 (01:25:11):
I felt so fortunate that there was a way I
could still parent him, delay it a bit longer so
that I could become okay with laying him to rest oof.
Speaker 1 (01:25:21):
Oof. That is heavy, man. That is if you know
anybody dealing with grief, And I can't even fathom what
that's like for a parent. I get it. It's not healthy.
Speaker 6 (01:25:36):
No, no, and I'm I'm really surprised that she was
even allowed to do that.
Speaker 7 (01:25:44):
No, she's got money, I know, So what do you
mean told no, just it's just bizarre to me. I
don't think I could be wrong. I don't think the
funeral home is going to stop you from keeping the body. Now,
they may say, hey, we're legally required to do X,
Y Z, and so as long as you're paying us
(01:26:08):
to maintain it. Yeah, yeah, And if somebody's coming in
and putting dry ice on it, then they're doing their
job to maintain it. I mean, because they they keep
bodies and freezers for people who can't afford funerals and
stuff in a.
Speaker 1 (01:26:21):
Long period of time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, So but
that's at a funeral home, not a home home.
Speaker 7 (01:26:28):
But I'm sure they're like, uh well, I mean, if
you if that's something you want to pursue, and you
can keep that room to this temperature, maybe we can
figure out how to come in every day and put
new dry ice on him.
Speaker 1 (01:26:43):
It's so weird, so weird, different levels. Yeah, but I'm
I think it's not healthy. But I'm not going to
question how you deal with grief. It's not healthy. It's
not a healthy way to do it, right. But if
that's the way you think you got to do it,
what do I know?
Speaker 8 (01:27:02):
We all have dead.
Speaker 7 (01:27:03):
Parents here on the show. Right, one of our folks
is dead. I'm the only one with both of them gone. Right,
So if you found us, yeah, I know, right. So
if you found out that either Lindsay or I had
you know, her dad, she had her dad on ice,
sitting in a living room or you know, another room,
(01:27:23):
or I had one of my parents, you wouldn't say
anything at all, like, bro, that's you can't do that.
I would encourage you to get help, Okay, I would
call the authorities. Or I mean if you're like, no,
they're coming and putting ice on it, like showing demonstrating
an ability to try and not let him rotten. But no,
(01:27:44):
I would encourage you to get help. What do you
do if like you come over and you're like, we're
gonna watch football the Chiefs and the and and and
and Okay, I was gonna say that, you know, dad's
sitting in the recline, are watching the game with us.
I don't care what he's doing. No, I don't like
being around dead bodies, full stop. But even if he's
(01:28:07):
in a whole nother room, he's in his own room
and he's on ice, and you're like, hey, what's in
this room over here and you open it up and
you see the casket. I mean I'm leaving, Just turn around.
Speaker 6 (01:28:18):
Away, And that's some Norman Baits stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:28:20):
Don't ask questions, you just like, well, Norman Bates wanted
to be his mom. I don't know if it's some
Norman Bait stuff.
Speaker 6 (01:28:26):
Too close.
Speaker 7 (01:28:28):
I just it's not healthy. Now, if you work at
a few, you live at a funeral home, that's a
different story. Absolutely, yeah, yeah, that's what it's made for. Yeah,
I think that's weird as it is. I mean living
in the home, the funeral home itself, that's like, of
all the things we've watched and stuff, like seeing people
(01:28:49):
die not an awesome thing. It's I've seen it in
real life. It ain't fun. So I just don't like
to be reminded of those visuals. Right Like, I've watched
people take their last breath. It's not something that I
want to relive. Right, So, I don't like going I
don't do open caskets. I barely like going to I
don't even like going to funerals. I don't want to
(01:29:11):
see a dead body in your house.
Speaker 1 (01:29:13):
I have been.
Speaker 7 (01:29:14):
I've never seen anybody take their last breath quite like you.
But I've been there, like towards the end and how
bad they look, And it blows me away. How many
people will post pictures of their dying parent on social
media for the rest of the world to see how
(01:29:37):
bad they look. I get the memorialization behind it, and like,
this is what I'm going through, but can't you pick
a better picture, Like I don't know, maybe one when
they were younger and healthier looking.
Speaker 1 (01:29:49):
Maybe they do look better.
Speaker 7 (01:29:51):
I think vanity isn't something that comes into play when
you're dealing with grief. Yeah, I don't think you're worried
about how good you look.
Speaker 1 (01:29:58):
I'm not worried about how good I look.
Speaker 7 (01:30:00):
I'm just thinking about you know, who wants to see
this dying person with their skin their face sinking in
tubes hooked up to them.
Speaker 1 (01:30:11):
You see what I'm saying. I'm like, I get it,
But that's shame.
Speaker 7 (01:30:14):
That's a you thing, right like that If you are
if you love somebody and you're like, here we are,
look at us. I love this person even in this situation.
I don't think anything's I don't think there's anything wrong
with that. If people post weird things online, that the
boundary has already been crossed. Right, whatever you post there,
(01:30:35):
what you post now is not relevant.
Speaker 8 (01:30:37):
Right.
Speaker 1 (01:30:38):
People post kids pictures of their kids in their bath
You're like, what are you doing? Man?
Speaker 8 (01:30:42):
Yeah, that's weird too.
Speaker 1 (01:30:43):
People post pictures of their kids. I think that's weird.
You're giving the whole pedophile world access to your kid visually.
That's weird to me.
Speaker 7 (01:30:53):
But yeah, if you come into one of your houses
and you've got a body in your home, like, oh,
I'm just haven't decided what to do with it and
ain't and Amazon on box, it doesn't need to be
broke down.
Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
There's people that will deal with it. It's just hard
to say goodbye.
Speaker 7 (01:31:10):
Happened, That's what boys. The men said, Yeah you want
you want to stay for dinner. Yeah, we're gonna put
a cloth over this and sit around it. Uh, we
still want to have dinner with dad, my dad, eat
your peace, et ads. He actually ever hit your knee
on the underneath side of a table? Oh sorry, mister Smith.
Speaker 1 (01:31:32):
I stubbed my toe on Pops this morning. Wild Yeah,
take a break, We'll be back. Tulsa's Morning Show.
Speaker 3 (01:31:40):
Yeah, he's coming right back. Mad Morning Show Tulsa's rock station.
Speaker 7 (01:31:45):
Ninety Good morning, It's the Big Mad Morning Show. Lindsay
mentioned baseball, but all everybody's playing today, So Game three
(01:32:10):
for the Guardians and Tigers, Game three for Yankees and
Royals today. But the Phillies and Mets, that series could
end today. If the Mets win, and Dodgers and Padres
play tonight too, that could end if the Padres win. Okay,
Dodgers are not living up to what the expectation was.
They're having a tough time against the Padres. So the
Mets of the underdog there, that is the big surprise story.
Speaker 1 (01:32:31):
Yeah, when was the last time the Mets did anything?
Been a minute? But the idea that the Mets and
Yankees could both make it in Yeah, they can't play
each other gamly, yes, absolutely, American League, National League, Okay,
well fun, Yeah, that would be an interesting matchup. Yeah,
but my rollers an't gonna let that happen, So I
(01:32:51):
don't think you have to worry about that.
Speaker 6 (01:33:05):
Late Monday, a lawyer representing former WWE employee Janelle Grant
in her lawsuit against the company and Vince McMahon filed
paperwork requesting non disclosure agreements not be enforced. The request
was made in the hopes that the move would be
would free other former and current employees of the WWE,
(01:33:26):
as well as contractors that do business with the company,
to come forward with similar allegations that corroborate with Grant
has alleged in her suit. Grant is accusing McMahon of
sexual battery and trafficking in her lawsuit. University of Georgia
football player Colby Young has been arrested and the allegations
(01:33:46):
in this one are beyond troubling. Police arrested the wide
receiver yesterday morning on misdemeanor charges of battery and assault
on an unborn child. The alleged victim reportedly told police
that Young was her ex boyfriend and that she went
to his apartment for about twenty minutes to speak with
him about their relationship status. A heated argument ensued after
(01:34:08):
she reportedly found out he was on the phone with
another woman and that there had been infidelity. The police
report then states that Young grabbed her arm and physically
pulled her out of his room and used derogatory terms
and was demeaning to her. The reporting officer then says
the woman started to gather her things with a friend
called her on the phone. When she answered it, Young
(01:34:30):
reportedly came out and grabbed her from behind, picked her
up and began to squeeze her torso and abdomen very hard.
Photos were reportedly taken and bruising where the torso meets
the abdomen, but there were no noticeable injuries to her arm,
according to the report. Later, Young denied ever grabbing the victim,
(01:34:51):
and the report goes on to say that he claimed
to have no rule in causing her injuries and that
they were not from him. The reporting officer also requested
a special condition of bond based on concerns of mental
abuse alleged by the victim and the fact that Young
owns a firearm. And now it's time for your Dallas
(01:35:13):
Cowboys update, brought to you by our friends at Miller Lyte.

Dallas will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon at

(01:35:34):
stress factor fracture in his left foot. The Cowboys of

NFC East at three and two. They've won six straight
over Detroit, dating back two twenty fifteen NFC Wildcard Round.

Speaker 7 (01:36:05):
Family, Good morning, It's the Big Man Morning Show, nine one, eight,
four to six. Oh, kot is the phone number you
can always text being a mess and then what you
want to say to eight two.
Speaker 10 (01:36:17):
Nine four five.
Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
This is pretty cool. On the floone with us right
now is Kenny Wayne Shephard. Hello sir, how are you ice?
Pushed the button there we are? Hello sir, how are
you good?
Speaker 8 (01:36:29):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
Hey man, It's great to talk to you. Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:36:32):
You are going to be in town with the Experience
Hendricks tour that's making a stop at the River Spire
Casino on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:36:38):
And I want to say you and I are very.
Speaker 7 (01:36:40):
Similar in age and I remember seeing you on like
here in the old radio and seeing you in music
videos and being like wow, like somebody my age can
be that successful. And here you are, all these years later,
still putting out music. You got that new album that
just came out. Do you reflect on that and how
a wild of a ride it is? And just like
to even be pulled up on stage age at thirteen,
(01:37:00):
all those things. Do you do you reflect on that?
And how does that land with you?
Speaker 10 (01:37:04):
Yeah? I mean it's pretty amazing, to be honest with you.
You know, I signed my record deal when I was
sixteen years old and put my first album out as
soon as I graduated high school. And you know, now
I'm forty seven years old and been doing it for
you know, thirty years now, and thankfully still successful. I mean,
you know, we play shows and we've been selling out
and putting out new music on a regular basis over
(01:37:27):
the past three decades, and our fans have been there
to support us since the very beginning. And part of
that is a testament to the music that I chose
to do because I never wanted to be a pop star.
You know, I love blues music, I love rock and roll,
and those are two genres that really just never go
out of style. So that's kind of, you know, a
key part of what has been you know, a thirty
(01:37:47):
year long career. It's just playing good music that's timeless.
Speaker 7 (01:37:51):
Yeah, it is timeless, I totally agree, but it also
doesn't get the it's not as popular to get the
respect that those other genres you mentioned, and so to
go into that was kind of like a daring move right.
Speaker 10 (01:38:04):
Well, yeah, for a teenager for sure. I mean that
was part of what you know, created a lot of
curiosity around me in the first place. I mean I
was labeled a child prodigy, you know, because I was
playing guitar well beyond my years. But also people were
curious because you know, I was having the blues label
thrown on me a lot because I love blues music,
but it was it was kind of not it was
(01:38:25):
an anomaly for a young teenage kid to be playing
blues music at that time. And so yeah, there was
a whole generation of young performers that came up right
around the same time as me doing this kind of music,
and several of us have had, you know, really great careers.
I mean you look at like Derek Trucks and Susan
Cedeski and Joe Bonamassa, and there was Johnny Lang for
(01:38:46):
a while as well, and so you know, I'm just grateful.
I think if I would have pursued a different path,
and you know, maybe we might not be talking today.
Speaker 7 (01:38:54):
Yeah, and you have kids. I'm not familiar with your ages,
and that's not important. But can you imagine somebody throwing
the label child prodigy on what are your kids?
Speaker 1 (01:39:02):
Well?
Speaker 10 (01:39:03):
I actually can, because you know I experienced that, so
it wouldn't be surprising to me, but maybe to somebody
else that you know, has never had any kind of
experience with that. But you know, all my kids are
very musical, but I haven't seen any of them really
take to any instrument yet the way that I did.
I mean I used to come home from school and
spend five six hours every day, you know, from the
(01:39:23):
moment I got home from school to the moment I
fell asleep playing guitar because I love to do it.
And so you know, I don't know if my kids
will grow to be musicians or not. It's certainly in
their blood. But nobody forced me to play music. I
did it because I love to do it, and I'm
not going to force my kids to do it either.
Speaker 7 (01:39:39):
I was just thinking, like as a at a young
age though, to have that label put on you, it's
hard to keep your mind and check when you get
put that's such a heavy label, an accolade to carry.
Speaker 10 (01:39:50):
Well, it was, well, it was weird to me, just
only because I couldn't figure out what was so special
about it. Like, all I knew was that I enjoyed
playing guitar and this is what brought me joy and satisfaction.
So it was like I just couldn't understand why everybody
was so impressed by it all because it was just
was what I love to do, and it just seemed
normal to me. But having had that experience, if one
(01:40:13):
of my kids, you know, rose to the occasion and
became a musician and people started, you know, throwing that
label on them, it wouldn't surprise me. Let's put it
that way.
Speaker 7 (01:40:21):
So your kids don't really get into music a whole lot,
Derek any whatever, But what are they into? Like what
do they excel at? You come home and at sixteen,
you teach yourself how to play guitar, become a labeled
a child prodigy? What are your kids excelling at? Like
you excelled at the guitar.
Speaker 10 (01:40:40):
Well, they're interested in all kinds of different things. Music
is certainly one of them. But like I said, you know,
I haven't seen one of them put the amount of
hours into it that I have. It doesn't mean that
they won't, you know. And they're all still pretty young.
I mean, my oldest is seventeen years old. But I
have six children, six wonderful kids, and the youngest is
(01:41:00):
six years old, so we still have many years in
front of all of them for them to figure out
what they're going to do. But you know, they're into
the same things that a lot of kids are into nowadays,
whether it's you know, playing video games on the weekends,
or sports or music or what have you. But you know,
it's it was a real anomaly for me to sign
(01:41:21):
a record deal at age sixteen, graduate high school, put
out a record, have it go platinum, and basically be
on my career path in my teenage years. I don't
expect that is the norm for everybody. So you know,
their lives are a little bit different than mine. So
we'll just kind of see how it plays out.
Speaker 1 (01:41:38):
Kenny Way Shepherd's joining us.
Speaker 7 (01:41:40):
He's going to be at the River Spirit for the
Experience Hendricks tour and his new album is Diamonds Dirt
on Diamonds. Volle two is out, and I was reading
some of the reviews of like shows and your album
stuff and everybody, you're right, your fans just they just
love it and they have not there's not like one
bad review. I think somebody was, if anything, they were
(01:42:01):
mad because the lengths of the album wasn't what they
wanted more.
Speaker 10 (01:42:06):
Right, Well, you know, I've kind of been focused on
the idea like nowadays, there's so many things that are
like competing for people's attention, and I mean, if anything,
the phone, you know, is like such a distraction for
most people, for all of us, and so the idea
that like you can sit down and that you can
(01:42:26):
expect people to have enough time to sit down and
listen to an entire album from beginning to the end,
you know, if it's ten songs or twelve songs or
fifteen songs, I mean, it's just not realistic. So I
started looking at, like, you know, how many songs are
on some like really legendary records, And the fact of
the matter is is there are so many albums that
(01:42:47):
are like incredible records, legendary albums that only had like
eight songs on them, because that was back when everybody
was buying vinyl records, and you can only really average
about four songs for each side of the album before
you start to lose the quality of the sound. So,
you know, I thought, you know, if we do an
eight song record, you know, which works out to be
(01:43:07):
somewhere between thirty forty five minutes worths the music, then
that's realistic, Like somebody could hop in the car and
listen to that entire album from start to finish, maybe
between the time they leave home and the time they
make it to work, or if they're on a road trip,
you know, before they have to take a bathroom break.
And so the goal for me is for people to
hear the whole record, and I think, you know, if
you give it to them, I don't know. I think
(01:43:29):
eight songs seemed like a complete statement to me.
Speaker 1 (01:43:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:43:33):
I love that attitude and the approach. You're trying to
give everybody a chance to have that full album experience.
We talked, You've been in it a long time. How
has your relationship with your guitars evolved from that young
boy who got signed. I would imagine, especially with what
I know about your relationship with the guitars, it's got
(01:43:53):
to be a different relationship now, right, Well, yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:43:56):
I mean I have obviously now I have a lot
more guitars than I did then, and I have some
really cool ones that I'm very thrilled to own, and
you know, but also I've become more selective, I guess,
you know, I have a higher set of expectations from
an instrument and what I believe I need from it
(01:44:17):
in order for me to be able to do what
I need to do properly, you know. And so when
I was a kid, I was just happy to have anything,
you know, any piece of wood with some strings on it, right,
And so now you know, it's like I can go
to the best of the best when it comes to
the people that make guitars, and I can expect incredibly
high standards from my instruments, and that's what I get,
(01:44:37):
and that just frees me up. That enables me. It's like,
you know, having the best mechanics if you're a race
car driver and having all the best equipment, you know,
then that enables you to do the best job that
you can do. Because you can rely on the equipment.
It's saying. It's true with the guitars.
Speaker 7 (01:44:52):
The first guitar you ever, your first guitar, do you
have a name for it? I may be asking something
really personal, so I don't I don't mean disrespect for that,
but like, do you have is there a name?
Speaker 1 (01:45:02):
Do you have a name for your first guitar?
Speaker 10 (01:45:04):
Not for my first guitar. You know, a lot of
people name their instruments, and I've named some of them
over the years, but I also like have a hard
time coming up with names like that seems like a
huge commitment to me. Like we when we had our kids,
like we really took a lot of time to before
we settled on a name for our kids because that's
something that they have to live with for the rest
(01:45:24):
of their lives. And so the same was true for guitars.
So I haven't named all of my guitars. I've named
some of them. My my number one guitar, my favorite
guitar of all time, is a nineteen sixty one Stratocaster,
and it took me probably over twenty years of ownership
before I settle on a name for it. But I
ended up naming that guitar Martha.
Speaker 7 (01:45:44):
More Marco, And if I came over to your house
hypothetical world, would you let me play Martha?
Speaker 1 (01:45:49):
Or is that like a no, no, you don't let
other people play your guitars.
Speaker 10 (01:45:53):
Well, it depends on who the person is. Like, if
you're a good friend of mine, you know, or a
bandmate or somebody known for a while, sure I'll hand
it to you. But if you're just like a first
time visitor or an acquaintance of somebody that I know,
I doubt it.
Speaker 1 (01:46:08):
I don't blame you. I don't blame you at all.
Speaker 6 (01:46:10):
Do you let your father in law pick up your
stratocaster and play?
Speaker 10 (01:46:14):
If he wanted to, I would, But he's He's never
asked to pick up one of my guitars, so you know,
but if he did, I'd hand it to him.
Speaker 1 (01:46:21):
When I was little, my parents had these blue chairs
in the living room and we were not allowed to
sit on them. How even as adults, I don't remember
being allowed to sit on it. Do you how old
were your kids were before you allowed them to start
touching or playing your guitars?
Speaker 10 (01:46:35):
Well, all of them, I mean, they kind of have
free reiin so like any guitars that are around the house,
they're more than welcome to pick up. I mean, there's
a guitar in the kitchen that's like a Gibson acoustic
guitar from the nineteen forties, and you know, my twelve
year old daughter is always playing that thing. And you know,
but my sixty one strat, if it's playing around the house,
(01:46:55):
they can pick it up. I mean, that's a really
sturdy guitar. It's kind of been around the world many
times and survived. So but yeah, lot my kids. My
instruments are there for my kids to play as well.
Speaker 1 (01:47:06):
Do you sound like you got a pretty extensive collection there,
So what's the rarest guitar that you have in your collection.
Speaker 10 (01:47:14):
I have a nineteen sixty Gibson les Paul Sunburst. So, like,
those guitars are incredibly valuable. One of the reasons is
because they didn't make a whole lot of them between
nineteen fifty eight and nineteen sixty, and then they canceled
what was known as the les Paul standard because they
weren't selling very well, which is why there aren't that
(01:47:37):
many of them that were made. But as a result
of how rare they are, and because the les Paul
has become such an iconic instrument in rock and roll
and blues, then the value went up and has continued
to go up over the decades. And now they're just like,
it's crazy how much those guitars cost. But they do
sound really incredible, and you know, the things that they
(01:47:58):
used to make those guitars back then, you don't have
all the same things in the new guitars today, so
they do sound different, and you know a lot of
people consider them worth the freemium price.
Speaker 7 (01:48:08):
Do you take some of those old guitars on the
road with you when you're doing shows or are those
just strictly for at home use only.
Speaker 10 (01:48:15):
No, I bring them out on the road and I
use them in the recording studio. I mean, I believe
that if you're going to own something like that, it's
an investment in your sound and an investment in your performance.
So you know, why spend the money on it if
you're not going to use it.
Speaker 7 (01:48:30):
You're gonna be in town for the experience. Hendrix Tour
at the Respire Casino on Saturday. Crazy group of guys
are playing on this show. How did you get connected
with it? And then I'm curious to what.
Speaker 1 (01:48:42):
It's like backstage before you go out, Like, do you guys,
is it just kind of you're just riffing like when
you go out there, or is there a pretty sets
setup of how everybody's gonna do their thing.
Speaker 10 (01:48:54):
Well, yeah, we have a set list and everybody has,
you know, their songs that they're going to play, and
some artists will join other artists for certain songs, and
some artists just do their own thing by themselves. But
it's kind of like a revolving door of really incredible
guitar players and musicians that are all kind of headliners
(01:49:15):
in their own right, you know, but paying tributes obviously
to the greatest guitar player of all time, Jimmy Hendricks.
But this thing started that he could really started more
than twenty years ago, and for a while we were
doing it every other year, and then you know, COVID
happened and the tour has kind of been on a
five year break and so we're just not getting it
(01:49:36):
back up and running. And we got a great lineup.
You know, we have Zach Wilde. If you like Ozzy
Osbourne and you know, I mean that you would know
who Zach Wilde Is he's been with him for years.
And then we have Eric Johnson and Tweasel Zappa, the
son of Frank Zappa, amazing guitar player. We have some
young up and comers making names for themselves. New additions
(01:49:56):
to the tour as well. Christine Kingfish Ingram, he's a
young Blue sena that's already won two Grammys and you know,
just blazing a trail for himself. I mean, there's a
very long list of incredible musicians on the tour and
it's a lot of fun. And it's not like nobody's
dressed up like Jimmy Hendrix. It's not like that kind
of thing. It's like you have headliners that can packt
(01:50:17):
these houses on their own. But we're all doing Jimmy
Hendrix's music and we're doing our versions of it. It's
a lot of fun.
Speaker 7 (01:50:23):
Yeah, it's a very special show that's going to be
over at the River Spire Casino on Satday. We actually
have a pair of tickets we're gonna give away right
now nine one, eight, four to six O Camo D
Last question for you, because I know you're a car guy,
if you had to pick one car from your collection
to survive an apocalypse, which one would it be?
Speaker 10 (01:50:40):
Oh? Man, Well, I don't know. It's hard to say,
because you know, I'm a classic muscle car guy, but
I also have a lot of the modern muscle cars
as well in my collection. My most recent car that
I that I've acquired it is called the Demon one seventy.
It's like the end of the era for the Dodge
supercharged D eight cars. This car is met for drag
(01:51:03):
racing and it's got one thy twenty five horse power,
and I got a one of a kind paint job
done to my car straight from the factory. So it's
a one of a kind vehicle. You'll never see another
one like it except the one that's in my garage,
and it's very special. It's a once in a lifetime
opportunity to get that car and that paint job, so
I probably would try and salvage that one.
Speaker 7 (01:51:25):
That's awesome, dude, it's great talking to you. Thank you
for all the years and being you know, grown up
in kind of a similar age and thinking, wow, that's possible.

the family and the cars and the show on Sunday.
