Hi, this is Carol Miller. Welcome to our Get the
letout count. On June eighth, nineteen eighty, led Zeppelin loaded
in and set up for rehearsals. Led Zeppelin had rehearsed
elsewhere in London throughout May, and now they would finish
up on the l stage at Shepperton Studios. After that,
Zeppelin's tour over Europe took them to thirteen cities. They'd
played four shows the previous year and none the year before.

Their absences were still pretty long, but getting shorter every
time we seem to do gigs Now we always have
to say, it's been a long time. Let's see, it's
only been ten months since the last one. It's been
a long time. Happened to be lyrics in a rock
and roll song they saved for their encorse. On June ninth,

nineteen seventy two, Led Zeppelin played the third show of
their North American tour. This show was in North Carolina
at what is now called the bo Jangles Colosseum, then
it was Charlotte Colosseum. So far on that tour shows
were lasting just over two hours long. Certain song lengths
varied each night. For instance, John Bonham's drum solo Moby Dick,

was growing from fourteen to fifteen minutes on the first
two nights to twenty minutes in Charlotte. That's not the
only number that was changing night tonight on tour. Robert
Plant was announcing Bonham's weight on stage each night. The
question decided for Louse Wayne Jo at the beginning of
two of two undred and ten pass playing in a
two hundred and six pairs John Henry Bonhams pass. On

June tenth, nineteen seventy, Jimmy Page put a slide to
his electric guitar in open Sea Tuning. Robert Plant had

Led Zeppelin played their fourth Madison Square Garden show of
the tour. In the past, they hadn't ever played more
than three Garden shows in one stretch. For this tour,
though they played six at the Garden. Each show was
scheduled for an eight pm start, but there was enough
delay for the fourth show that Robert Plant said, welcome
to my midnight movie. Okay, the sorry good Welcome to

the midnight movie. I guess you're gonna play. I'm tiny,
I'm playing, I'm playing. They played and played for more
than three hours. More than half an hour was to
the tune of No Corner. On June twelfth, nineteen seventy seven,

the newspaper column Elbert Marshall's Journal in Burlington, North Carolina,
reviewed Led Zeppelin's recent show at Greensboro Coliseum. The show
had taken place on drummer John Bonham's twenty ninth birthday
May thirty. First. Only one fan captured source has emerged
from the show, and that's three minutes of video. Its
silent footage of Zeppelin's opening song. The song remains the same.

The video has been SYNCD with audio of that song
from another night of the tour. In the nineteen seventy
seven live arrangement, John Paul Jones's base was very prevalent,
and he and Jimmy Page and John Bonham were all
