Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, hanging in studio. It's been a minute, and
I'd imagine the next time we talked to you it
might be across the street instead. Kane Brown is with us.
What's up a man?
Speaker 2 (00:08):
How are you? Oh? I'm Gray? How are you doing?
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Not bad? Congratulations is on the massive news.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
I was just walking or walking into the building and
I was like, it's crazy to think my name is
going to be on a sign on Broadway.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Let me let me ask because last time you we
last time we caught up, I think was on Zoom.
But you were in this in this studio about two
years ago and I had asked, Hey, you think a
bar whatever happened? And you literally looked out the window
looked in that direction. He said, I don't know. Maybe
we'll think come up with some at some point. So
from that two years ago to now, I'm just gonna
(00:40):
say it as blunt as possible, what was the hold up?
What was the two years?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Because obviously I think we've had the building for two years.
We just kind of announced it.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Okay, So we've been looking at everybody else's and just
seeing what we wanted to do to ours, and it's
taking our time with it, not just rushing into it.
So it's been cool just to be able to basically
just plan out what I wanted and getting to pick
all the little details and everything.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I'm excited for the openings so everybody can see it well.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
And that's something I did want to ask too, because
a lot of artists, when they get to the opportunity
to like do the bar thing, it's like, slap my
name on it, check shows up, whatever happens. But I
want to ask, how involved are you in that this
is what this floor is gonna look like? This is
this floor?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, we're super involved in it.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
It's gonna be very different, even all the way to
the color scheme, just kind of my brand. You know,
it's gonna be I believe the first floor is kind
of like Broadway. We didn't take too much. I mean
we changed it a little bit, but not crazy. And
then as you go up, like there's another but there's
gonna be another bar inside of it called Dusk, which
(01:42):
is like a cool like spot that I would hang out.
I don't know, it's just gonna be different than anything
else on Broadway.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
You have done things since the first day I met
you in Vegas. You have done things your way and
it has been successful. So what is is it very
important for you? Like, hey, this is if I'm doing it,
like this is my project?
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, because I want to go there, you know, So
it's just cool instead of saying like I threw my
name on it, I had something to do with it,
you know.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
And I'm gonna try to be there.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
I quit drinking, which is weird, but I'm gonna try
to be there like once every week maybe for at
least the.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Start of it.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
And I tell your wife's like no, we're.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm gonna go and hang out.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
You'll never know when to pop up, and I'll be
there just I'll I mean, I've bought the whole bar
shots at Dirk Bentley, so I might as well do it.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
My boy.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
It's a tax right off at your bar over at Dirks,
you just lose your fun. It's like advertising, what's what's
what's the importance of brand for you? Because you people
can't just be artists and be successful anymore. It's almost
like you need a brand, right, like, so hey, I sing,
but like also I have this spot and I do this.
(02:53):
And we were just talking about how Adidas needs to
make a deal with Caane Brown because I think Kane
Brown merch would be so Adidas. Get it done.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, I mean's working on a ten percent.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
And we're gonna clip this and we're gonna tag Adidas
and it's gonna come through because Kane Brown Adidas merch
would be legit go plus plus. I know you play basketball,
I know you're active, Like why not Kane Brown? You're
a dad, speaks to dads.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I'm just rock Adida stuff. I'm a dad.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
See that's I think the check literally writes itself. How
is life going away from music? Obviously the bar is
keeping you busy? What are other things you got your
hands in?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Right now? We're working on new music. We're going on
the album. Really excited for it.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
I feel like I'm motivated like the you know when
I first got in the game again, I haven't felt
that feeling in a while, so that's exciting. And then
really just you know, being a dad, uh, boxing, working
out and trying to get like other deals it comes
to protein powders or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Dimatized shadow, Yeah, we.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Will clip and tag uh when when it comes to uh,
the music and being reinvigorated and kind of like the
refresh button. I think people forget that what you do
is a job. And I don't want to disrespect. Like
I know we've talked before. You feel blessed, you feel
you know, fortunate that you get to do this and
(04:16):
you love it, But like dude, it's a job. Sometimes
the tour bus sucks, the plane sucks. Not being home
for three weeks at the time sucks. So it being
refreshed is important to you. What what brought you there?
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Honestly, I think I think like.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Work working out, Like I've went in different schemes of it,
so I lost my competitiveness and I kind of was
just like an autopilot just cruising. And once I started
working out, I went to just you know, just lifting.
Doing it every day made me feel better. And then
I got to I went to like bodybuilding, and so
I feel like that got me on a a schedule
(04:55):
because I was having to do like, only eat this
many calories and that, you know, it was kind of
just like turning my brain back on to you can
do whatever you put your mind to. And I think
once I got into boxing, that's like the last mode
that switched me to I want to be a competitor again,
so I wanted to. I've been getting in a lot
(05:16):
more writing rooms and trying to find this sound, you know,
getting back to actually singing, because if I'm not on
stage and I'm not singing, and used to when I
wasn't on stage, I would sing all the time, you know,
I was trying to show you my face. So I'm
doing vocal lessons like every day now and just trying
to get back into the routine of being competitive.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
You, especially most recently with the song you did with Jelly.
You've always been a guy who doesn't hide behind mental
health stories. Does the success now that the bar is
going to be a thing and you're feeling more, you know,
renewed in your career, how is that help mentally behind
the scenes for you? I'd imagine that's got to be
(05:56):
all good things, right.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
No.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
No, So, as weird as it is, I was in
like that dark headspace for a while, like the autopilot stage.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
I feel like even last time we talked to you
were a little.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Kind of like, yeah, I was like, I'm just here,
you know, But it's just I don't know. I feel
like once things started to change, and my mood started
changes when all this started falling place. Like I said,
we've been talking about the bar for two years but
never happened. And then it's like, once my head is
here and I'm like, oh, this is sick. This year
is gonna be my year, my album blah blah blah blah,
and they're like, hey, we're opening the bar. It's just
(06:27):
like all the good things started to fall into place
with it. So I think that's just you know, always
telling yourself that going back to what I did at
the beginning was just telling myself I believe to myself basically,
and I'm back to believing.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
That's awesome, dude. And I can even tell. And it's
not like we talk all the time, but I can
even tell from the interactions we've had over the last year,
year and a half to today, Like it's like I
got came brown two point ohsen in front of you. Yeah,
that's awesome. I'm happy for you, man, Thank you. We're
getting ready for it. We're going to talk about the
new music. But I want to hit the Iheartcunt Festival
(07:00):
that's coming up in May. Capitol One always helps us
throw down a massive party in Austin. You've done it before,
You're back. This year we got Riley Green, Luke Bryant,
Gretz and Wilson, so many more artists taking the stage.
You don't even need me, that's get out of here.
Yes we do, Yes, we do. When it comes to
shows like that, is it still are you in a
(07:20):
headspace where you can be like, wow, this is like
when shows get booked like that right like the iHeart
Country Festival, It's like the best of the best. Who's
who's who's representing country at a high level right now?
And what does that mean for you that your name
is on that list?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
That's exciting for me.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Used to I was a little nervous about it, but
I'm just excited because if you get everybody's fans coming
there and everything that our Heart's done for me too,
just you know, getting to help them out. And I'm
so honored to be on the show because you don't
always get asked, so I feel like it's kind of
like a festival almost or an award show. You're like, dang,
they didn't ask me this year. So yeah, I'm excited
(07:59):
to be there, excited to play some new music, just
give the croud a good show.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Well, let's talk about the new music now, because obviously
I've seen clips. Woman is out there on social media
sat for this song and it feels like you're excited,
like in your performance and even obviously you saying you're excited, right,
What is it about this song in this new batch
of music that you're like, hey, let's get this is
going first.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
So I've always followed my gut when I started doing music,
and this song is one of those that I just know,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
It's like when you just have that no, I know feeling,
and that's what this song is. And with y'all helping
me and playing it, it's I've showed it to a
lot of people and after they hear it, they can't
get it out of their heads. So I'm banking on
that's what it's going to do this summer and everybody's
gonna be jamming it. And my music video is I'm
trying to up the game a little bit, So I
took like a throwback to the nineties and we're dancing
(08:54):
a little bit, and I don't know, I just love.
It's a feel good song and it's a great mess.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
You know. Kane Brown's enjoying this music if he's dancing
in the video.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
That's what I'm saying. I'm trying to. I'm trying to.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
I'm gonna try and change it up for twenty twenty
seven is gonna be crazy. I hope I can keep
this mentality I got right now.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Just keep dude the same same when it comes to
the new music and even your headspace and where you're
at and all the awesome things happening away from music
as well, what's this new music gonna sound like?
Speaker 3 (09:26):
So it's actually it's it's I don't even know how
to explain it.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Definitely like happy, feel good.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
But we were going to the album yesterday and we
don't know all the one hundred percent of the songs
that are going to be on there, but all of
them had a different message, which I thought was really cool.
They have like a dark, darker tone, but are happy
songs if that makes any sense. Yeah, And they all
(09:54):
sound different and they all have a feel good thing
about them, and I get the right. I think this
next week coming up and then we got a lot
of rights. By then, I think I have to be
done by Junior July. Right for the album to be
done on time or they got to push it, but
we got I think we got plenty of plenty enough
(10:15):
songs for an album.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Is it? And I know you haven't officially announced a
date or anything, but are you Is this like a
fall album?
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Yeah? Okay, all right, my mom's birthday, do some research.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
I'm googling and we're gonna tag that in here. Shout
out to mom's birthday. When it comes to where you're
at headspace wise now and where you've been before, chasing
success can happen a lot, right, and and chasing things
that are that don't fulfill you, but once you grab it,
it's like, oh, if I could just and then you
(10:48):
get you're like, oh, And I love asking this question
because that's in something that's performance based, that's like a
wildly empty feeling, right like a baseball player, if I
could just win the World Series, and then it's like
the next morning, wake up your like.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Yeah, I think the hardest thing with music though, is
like what I mean, I don't even know what I
would go for. I mean, at first, you know, it
used to be like if I got on a TV show,
I'd made it, and then I got a record deal.
I made it, and the first number one, I made it,
and then I'd go home for I'd go home and
wouldn't even like it wouldn't even dawn on me what
(11:22):
I had done, you know what I mean. So, like,
my family's in Florida right now, so I had the
house myself yesterday. So I was just going all over
my house just looking like, bro, you did this and
I don't ever do that.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
So it was just a cool feeling.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
And you deserve to, man, because you've literally you've crushed
it like you have crushed it. And I know you're
not a guy that likes you know, stands on top
of just like yeah, chickle the world. But like, dude,
you've kicked ass since you've got into country music. Thank you, Yeah,
And you deserve to feel that way. The new music's coming.
We can't wait, obviously, the iHeart Country Festival's coming. I
want to go back to the bar real quick because
(12:00):
of where you were at musically when the Bar deal
started versus now, have you changed a lot of that
to incorporate where the new music's going? Or is this
bar Kane is a human versus Kane as an artist.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
No, I think this is going to be like the
Cane of like the new Kane.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
You know, I've been in there for a decade, my
tenth year, and I've kind of tried to just I've
always been a people pleaser, like I want everybody to
love me. Yeah, and I've been trying to please the
wrong people. It's the people that don't listen to me
or don't you know, don't give two crabs about me.
So basically just I don't know, trying to hide. And
now I feel like free. I feel like I just
(12:39):
get to do what I want, and that's what this
new year is about to be about.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
God, you're so happy, dude, It's infectious. I can feel it.
When it comes to what you want to see happen
with the rest of your twenty twenty six is are
you happy with what's happening now or are there some things
that like, no, this has to happen. We still got
this goal and this goal and this goal.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
No, No, the twenty twenty six is just the start
for twenty twenty seven. You know, usually I feel like
that too, as I've waited to the last second for
everything because that's just how my personality was. And this year,
like I'm trying to get choreographers out for next year
for the tour and just trying to do different ideas.
(13:24):
I want to do crazy music videos through through everything
and just give everybody the content. You know, I was
the content king coming in and then I just kind
of quit. So I want to take that back over.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I love that for you. Man. How are things moving
forward with your wife as a performer as an artist,
because I know fans are always asking for more. But
we talked. I don't know if it was last time
or the time before, but she was like, I don't
want to get ready for one song, two songs and
then when, so are we talking more? We're talking like
she's going to be mom for a little while.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
No, no, no, she's still going to be out there.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
And we're working on another song for her on the
album We Got One is coming out. I don't know
if we can talk about, but it's on the Disney
record Beauty and the Beast smash. It's crazy because you know,
we had to compete with like John legend ariana Grande.
I never heard of Sebastian. I mean, it's Beauty and
the Beast, which I'm not that Kate loves this song.
(14:18):
She she made me do that one, but I don't know,
I'm not I'm actually glad that we did.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Sounds crazy, dude.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Plus Disney ties last forever, Like, once you're in the family,
you're in the family.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Man.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
They keep making me pay for the VFP Paiva.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Listen, we're gonna tag Disney and they're coming for free now.
But so now total out of left field doing the
Beauty and the Beast thing. Is that public knowledge? Is
that something we can talk about? Yeah, and we can
clip if it's not. But I'm gonna ask. I'm gonna
ask a question that we'll post if it's not official
latter knowing that you have ties to this Beauty and
the Beast project. No disrespect to Belle and the Beast,
(14:56):
But what is Kane Brown's go to Disney movie?
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Oh, we'll go to Disney movie?
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Yeah, from whether it's you know, something recent that you
see with your kids, or if you like rewind like
I can buy this toy story all day or whatever.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Many I would say right now for me, it would
probably be cars such a classic. Yeah, I love cars,
such a Tell me that's not that's Disney, right, Yeah? Yeah, Okay,
was about. Yeah, yeah, Disney picks.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
That's what I got confused.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Yeah yeah, But Pixar came in and changed the game
because I am just this much older than you. So
I was like, it was like Cinderella and it was
like snow White and We're broke. So I think those
are the only two movies. Listen, man, all the success.
I can't wait to see you in Austin for the
(15:46):
Country Festival. Can't wait? Do we have I don't think
a date's been announced on the bar yet.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Right the weekend.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Let's go, dude, let's go.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
To come through wet.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
We're gonna have some cool names coming to I guess
they stand up, but heiny't.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Nobody's standing. Listen, I'll come all lip sync their songs.
It will be no difference. Came around. Appreciate you, dude, Yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I
