The National Hurricane Center is updating its Cone of Uncertainty map,
which shows the likely path of a storm's center. Harris
County meteorologist Jeff Lindner says they're looking further than the coastline.

Biggest change to that graphic is the addition of inland
watches and warnings.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
That helps convey not so much am I in the tone,
am outside of the cone? What's actually going to happen?
Speaker 4 (00:20):
What are the impacts on this particular storm, including those
inland impacts.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
The cone graphic will now show watches and warnings for
areas beyond where the storm makes landfall. The Hurricane Center
is also adding a map to show where rip currents
