Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Marcus Throwback Thursday, just after six o'clock. Good morning,

(00:03):
you already know what's up. You already know what's happening.
We've got more tickets for the Disneyland resort this morning.
Make sure you stay tuned in. That's coming up at
a seven thirty five will be your first chance, and
then eight thirty five of course, and then with Demi
Lovado coming to town, tickets going on sale tomorrow. We
have tickets this morning at eight oh five. If you're
a levadic or you got one in your life, you

(00:23):
want to win. That's what the trivia games. Stay with us.
It's Marcus. We're gonna talk about one of my favorite subjects,
not just marriage, but like how did you get proposed to?
How did you propose? I saw a stat where the
most successful place to propose, if you're thinking about it,
is also the most boring. Before I tell you where
that is, tell me how it happened, and remember you

(00:45):
can always check in on the show. Let me know
what's going on. Eight hundred, eight hundred and one oh
one three. Also you can use the talk back it's
the little red microphone on the iHeartRadio app. Anyway, tell
me well, not worried.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
About successful, but I did say, yes, I plant things
in our garden all the time, and like ninety percent
of them do not take. And so my fiance came
into the house and was like, you got to come outside.
Something that you planted is blooming. And I was in
such a bad mood and I was like, wow, it's
not And then he got me outside and I was like,
these are all weeds. And then finally he like ushered

(01:16):
me over to the place where one single sprig of
dill was blooming huge, and I was like the dell
and started weeding it right away. And then he's like,
stop that that this is happening, and then he pulled
out the ring. So I was sort of covered in
dirt and really excited about the piece of dill in
the garden, in the garden at our house.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Having killed ninety eight percent of the plants that you've planted,
but keeping your relationship alive exactly, So you're part of
the statistic because they say the most successful marriage proposals
happened at home.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Okay, boring, but but.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
When I read that, you know what I thought of
Your man wakes up hungover on a Sunday morning, forgot
to get the ring, forgot to get any kind of gift,
forgot to do any kind of prep, rolls over and
grabs a ring pop and goes, hey, are we doing this?
Because don't tell me that doesn't happen, right.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
And that is a version that would be upsetting. But
I feel like if it's intentional and not just rolling
over and being like, I guess it's today, Hey, then
it's like a really nice intimate space, especially if you
don't want like a whole show or flash mob or whatever,
which a flash mob would upset me more than an
intimate home proposal.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Right. You got to know your person. I think that's
the key thing. You got to know your person. Some
people like flash mobs there. Some people don't mind sentences
that start with hey, you awake, so cute, thanks for calling?
All right, you got one again eight hundred eight hundred
one one three, Or you can use the talk bag
leaving me a message. It's a little red microphone on

(02:53):
the iHeartRadio app. If you're streaming Star one on one
three right now and keep the radio on. Wake up
with me because we have tickets for the Disney Resort.
I've been talking about it all week seven thirty five
will be your chance to win. It's Marcus, good morning,
day before Halloween. We're talking about irrational fears, something that
you're afraid of that might be not ridiculous, isn't the word,
but maybe unfounded? Producer Taylor joining me on the mic.

(03:15):
What is your irrational fear?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
You know, Marcus, I know that I just turned twenty six,
but to this day, I am still very, very afraid
of the dark. Okay, I have a night light in
almost every room of my house.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
I can't do it.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
It's I don't like the unknown.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
What's in there? What do you do when you travel?
Do you take all your night lights? Of course it's
a big bag of night lights.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yes, I'm not even joking. Yes, I have a little
like portable nightlight that I bring with me.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
What are you afraid of? That's the thing.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
We don't know what's in there. I can't see it,
so of course I'm afraid I need light.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
So if I turn the lights off in here right now,
don't we and we just stood here, that would freak
me out. I can't do it. I would leave oh
Man for me. It's rodents, anything Rodent rodentia rodent adjacent,
and that extends to whirls, rabbits, and capy beeras, which
do you know what a capeberia is.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
I'm not familiar.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
They're supposedly the cutest animals ever. My child wants one.
She wears the T shirt. Go go google capuberraa. You're
gonna fall in love. Oo google cape beara writing an alligator.
Oh gosh, I can't do it. I mean, I'll man
up if there's a if there's a mouse or a
rat in the house, I'll man up and do it.
But I'm not gonna be happy about it.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Okay, what's your stance on skunks?

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Then?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Oh, they're cute until they're not. I like watching them
on the cameras in the backyard with their wiggly little butts,
but you don't want to get too close. I ran
into a skunk one time while I was doing a
dusk walk, and you're like, oh, hey, buddy, and he
looks at you, and you look at him, and you're like, no, duh, no,
I'm leaving. I'm leaving. Don't don't. Don't score up on me. Bro.

(04:47):
So let us know what your irrational fear is. Eight
hundred eight hundred one one three.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I am an irrational fear of like being approached by
an alligator of a crocodile.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
In the Bay Area.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yes, I know, it's so crazy. I just I have
nightmares and I just any body of water, even though
I know that they don't live in the ocean. It's
just terrified.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Let me ask you this, what about a bathtub? Do
you feel safe? And I I'm.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Not being a dumb bathtub No, bathtub's fine because I
know that I can see the whole vicinity.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
It's not as dark as That's why I like. Yeah,
it's not the piping or the or the plumbing. It's
the fact that you could see everything. Yes, I only
asked that because when I was a kid, I was
convinced Jaws was going to be in the bathtub.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
You know what, I don't fault you for that. It's
a real fear.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Do you know what to do if you do get
attacked by an alligator or a crocodile?

Speaker 2 (05:37):
I think you're supposed to run in his zigzags, But
don't quote me on that. I think I heard that
at some point. Right, you don't really need to learn, right.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
My old partner Corey was from Florida and they did
gator drills and she said that she said, you have
to run in a zigzag because they have short, stubby
little legs and no one ever run in a straight line.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
So terrifying. It's like Jurassic Park. That's too much.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
You're a rational fear. Let us know eight hundred eight
hundred one oh one three. You can use the talk
back on the iHeartRadio app if for streaming Star one
on one three right now, leave me a message and
don't forget. We're like an hour away from your tickets
for the Disneyland resort. I've got a four pack at
seven thirty five. Keep it on. Never forget that you. Yes,
you can help reduce the number of traditional plastic coffee
pods that go into landfill by choosing San Francisco Bay

(06:23):
Coffee's commercially compassable one cup coffee pods. They're fantastic, they
help save the planet, and they fit most K cup brewers.
You want to help reduce plastic waste, make it happen. Look,
commercial composting is available. Limited areas might be available near you,
but this could be your move. Thank you, San Francisco
Bay coffee and what you do for the environment. It's

fifty jump trend, Taylor. I think we're doing this. It's
fifty jumps in a row. Have you seen this online? Yeah, no,
it's happening. It's happening. I don't know. I just torn
Achilles just talking about that. Doctors do advice, you start slow.

(07:54):
Speaking of TikTok trends, if you jump on, it's Marcus
d on Instagram. You can also follow producer Taylor at
tay Love with two e's She and I did the
Whitney Houston challenge. I know what is it. I'll tell
you it's hilarious. First of all, we're on the roof
of the radio station and you have to time the

(08:15):
drum beat in the song I Will Always Love You
off the Bodyguard soundtrack, and it was a disaster. That's
all I'm gonna tell you. Go check it out again.
It's Marcus d up on Instagram. You can check that
out where you can also get yourself registered for those
tickets for the Disneyland resort. We have a four pack,
so that's on there as well at Star one on
one three FM if you want to check in coming

(08:37):
up after seven o'clock lots. We have a second date
update at seven oh five and then seven thirty five.
More tickets for Disneyland and stay with us a variety
from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star
one O one three, It's Marcus and it's time once
again for second date update. We've talked about it for years.
You go on a date, you get ghosted. We will

(08:57):
call your date to figure out ay if you screwed up,
be if they've just been busy, or see what the
deal is. And that's why Felix is here. Yeah, yeah, Hi,
good morning. Obviously we we't want to talk about this
date with this girl. Dana.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
Yes, so now.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
You said you met online. What did you do for
the first date?

Speaker 5 (09:17):
Oh my god. We went to Japantown. We went to
the sushi joint for dinner. Okay, the day was it
was amazing. I love this place. It was like warm
lighting and it feels like one of those first dates
that attributed a movie. And we talked about travel. She
had just been to Japan, so it's perfect. We like
talked embarrassing childhood stories. Anyway, at one point you got

(09:38):
to put it soft on her nose and I got
my neck and I wiped it off and she blushed
and I actually said out loud, like total rom com moment. Yeah,
and she like smiled, and I was like, oh my god,
this is this is incredible. So after dinner, we hit
a karaoke bar nearby and we closed the place. We
had so much fun. And I do not say this

(10:01):
about dates, but it felt magical, Like I thought, oh
my god, this is what I've been waiting for. This
is the kind of first date you tell your kids about.
But I'm shocked she's vanished quite completely.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I was just talking to my producer Taylor about dating online.
She says it's horrible, So this must have just been
like a cool moment.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
I guess, huh, very all right, but I know you
guys help out people.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Uh, we people get I'll tell you what we're gonna
call her, So let me play a song, we'll regroup,
and then we'll call Dana. Okay, all right, all right,
we'll have you on the line when we do it,
so i'll have you mute out. But that's happening. Next,
it's it's second Date update, a variety from the two thousands,
the nineties, and today It's Star one on one three.
It's Marcus, Thursday morning. We've got Felix on the phone.
We're in the middle of Second Date Update. I do

(10:48):
like your date, Felix, quite a bit you. So, just
to recap, you all went for sushi in Japantown in
San Francisco, and then karaoke lounge afterwards, and the basic
we shut the place down. I get it all right,
she has ghosted, so let's figure it out. You can't
think of anything that might have happened.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
No, I keep playing it over my head because there's
nothing else I can't sure.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Go ahead and mute your phone. Let's do this right,
Let's hope. Here we go. Hell, Hi, can I talk
to Dana please?

Speaker 5 (11:27):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (11:27):
This is her.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Hi Dana, this is Marcus from Star one one three
in the morning. Hi.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Hey, I've been listening to the second day update for years.
I have a feeling I know what this is about.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Somebody just checked.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Hi, Hi, So you're good to be on second Date
update because you know who is holding.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah. I figured if I'd be on this it would
be because of something wild happening. And I have a
story for you.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
So okay, great, gat to be here. Do I bring
Felix on no hour or later?

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Sure you can. I mean it's totally up to.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
You, Felix. Are you there, Bud?

Speaker 5 (12:10):
Hey, hey man.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Hi, So Felix said you had a great time. This
was the date at the with sushi and then karaoke.
I don't know if you remember, Oh I remember? Okay,
So how did you ghost?

Speaker 2 (12:26):
I mean it was the first date, so I don't
consider it ghosting, but yeah, I obviously did not.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
That's like the fourth time I've heard that. So is
it not technically ghosting if it's just one date?

Speaker 2 (12:37):
I personally one date, I don't consider it. Okay, maybe after.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
I learned things every day, So okay, let's not call
it ghosting. But you're done?

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Yeah, definitely all right.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
So yeah, tell us about the date from your perspective.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Well, hi'm Felix. I mean, honestly, it started off really great, Felix.
You're handsome, you know, you're funny. We had a great conversation,
and then things kind of went downhill when we got karaoke.

Speaker 5 (13:11):
First.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I mean, you definitely got really drunk, like you were
like leaning on the mic stand drunk at karaoke, and
I really was turned off. By the fact that you
were snapping at the bartender when you wanted another drink.
I thought that was just so disrespectful. And that was
already bad enough. But then you got up on stage

(13:35):
and you started singing I'll make Love to You by
Boys to Men, and you looked at me in the
eye and it was just so uncomfortable. It was so cringe. Yes, yes,
and like for a first date. I was just already
you were you're very, very drunk, and then adding that
it was just such a turn off, and I was, yeah,

(13:56):
I just didn't know why you thought that any of
that was.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Okay, the visuals loan, what is going on?

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Okay? First of all, yes, I had a few. I
mean you had a couple of drinks too. We were celebrating,
like you were vibing. I was vibing. It's karaoke night,
you know, we had dinner, like a party at here.
Let's go, you know, let's have fun.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Yeah. When you were on the mic, yeah you were,
you were super bartender.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
I was not rude. I was just trying to get
their attention because it's a loud place, there's music playing.
What do you want, Like, am I supposed to yell
at him. I feel like fingersnapping is like more considerate.
I'm not gonna yell it.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
You ever worked in like a restaurant or anything, like,
don't snap at people. I think it's super disrespect. Well,
you can get up and go.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Talk to them.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
You don't have to yell.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
I don't you have to get their attention. That's not rude,
you know.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
I just that's the way you treat service people. I
feel like it is a is a big tell.

Speaker 5 (14:51):
I mean, I agree, but I feel like I wasn't
rude to them.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
I want to get to the serenade though, because that's
my favorite part.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
Come on, it was really unhunt. That is absolutely a
classic song for a karaoke night, and I was trying
to be funny. I was not being creepy. You cannot
right into my y Yeah, I was playing up the song.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
We haven't even kissed yet. You can't be singing and
I'll make love to you. Like It's just it was
such a turn off. I feel like it was just
way too much.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Too variety from the two thousands, the nineties and today
it's Star one O one three, it's Marcus. We're following
up on something We started yesterday and I got a
bunch of talkbacks because marriage proposals are fun to talk about.
Experts say the most successful place to do it is
at home. But how did you get proposed to? Was
it successful? Talkback always open. It's that little red microphone
on the iHeartRadio app. If you're streaming Star one on

(15:44):
one three right now, you can leave messages.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Hey, Marcus.

Speaker 6 (15:47):
So my husband he sent me on an amazing race,
so we were really into the show way back when,
and he got all my friends involved and gave them
clues and I ran all over the Bay Area and
then he he ended up proposing in Santa Cruz. And
we've been married for eleven years, so I think pretty successful.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Oh that sounds exhausting. I think I just got chin splits,
but also congratulations. All right, let's do one more.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
Hi Marcus, good morning. This is Sally. My husband proposed
to me at El Harden nineteen years ago, around the
Big Tree with life everywhere. It was my birthday party
and we had all of our favorite people. He hid
the box ring in my coach first, and everyone was
excited about the coach first, and he goes, there's more,
which I thought was a wallet, but it turned out

(16:32):
it was a ring. He was already on his knees.
It was the most romantic and special.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Day ever, I mean also baller in fact, I want
to talk to Sally. Do we have her on hold?

Speaker 5 (16:41):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Sally? Are you there? Good morning? How are you?

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Good morning?

Speaker 8 (16:44):
Marcus?

Speaker 2 (16:44):
I'm great.

Speaker 7 (16:45):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (16:46):
I got your talk back. I had a couple of
follow up questions on your el Hardine marriage proposal. Yeah,
so where is this place?

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Oh it's Santana Ro. It's the one right in the middle.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
And there's that big tree with light.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
So he pulled out all the stops. You're already having
your birthday party at Santana Ro. You've just scored a
coach purse. My day's already made. And then he pulls
out a diamond ring. Yes, is your husband independently wealthy?
And does he need a sun? No?

Speaker 2 (17:17):
He was just really stopppul and yeah, it was exciting.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (17:22):
The funny thing is my sister took the purse out
of my hand and a few people knew the.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Ring was in. They're like, give her back her purse.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
So it was did your sister not know? She didn't
she didn't know the assignment.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
She didn't know the assignment.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
No, you know why because she wouldn't be able to
keep her mouth shut. Yeah, exactly, already know the answer.
What a great story. Thank you for listening every morning.
I appreciate it. Are you ready for those Disneyland tickets though?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Oh gosh, I am here all right?

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Thanks for sharing your.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Story, alrighty, have a great day you too.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Yeah, hang out because we're like a few minutes away
from your four pack of tickets to the Disneyland resort
that's next on Star one on one three, it's seven
third and I need design help. She's there to help you.
They've got all of their stuff on site in a
gigantic warehouse. In fact, it's over eight hundred thousand square feet,
and that translates to no waiting, so when you want
to get new cabinets, new countertops, a whole new kitchen,

(18:15):
a whole new bathroom. They even have gigantic slabs, which
are fantastic, and they have all their installers on site too.
One Stop Shopping talked about them for years, and they've
been around for so long, like more than two decades,
and you can't be around that long. Doing business if
you're not doing it right. In fact, they reinvented the
way that reno gets done with the designer on site,

(18:37):
the materials on site, and the installers on site. They're
going to keep you on time and on budget and
get you ready for the holiday so you can entertain
in style. The website Kzykitchen dot com. All right, it's
go time. You ready to get to the Disneyland resort.
I got you with a four pack of tickets and
if you want to go, you got a call. It's
eight hundred eight hundred one oh one three. We'll hook

(18:58):
up Color twenty right now our one on one three.
Good luck, It's time for good news.

Speaker 9 (19:06):
Sometimes all you need is what a good thought to
make it a great day. So let's do this. It's
good news on Star one one three.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Still got time to jump in if you want to
try and win those disney tickets. Right, we got that
four pack again, eight hundred eight hundred one oh one three,
get after it.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
I love this story, and then I'm gonna need your
help because I want to know if anybody is doing
this in the Bay. There's a coffee shop in Portland
that has raised over one hundred and eighty thousand dollars
to feed people that are losing Snap benefits and people
just in general being affected by this government shutdown. So
it's called Heretic Coffee Company, volunteer run nonprofit cafe in

(19:46):
southeast Portland. They've raised over one hundred and eighty grand
to help people out. Started collecting donations less than a
week ago and that helps to support breakfast services for
community members. And I just think the this is fantastic.
So what I would like is because I guarantee there
is a business or maybe more than one that is

(20:06):
doing this in the Bay. Yesterday we were talking about
businesses and this was started by Tony and Albos in
San Jose, a fantastic pizza joint where they are offering,
you know, free food for your kids if you're losing
your Snap benefits, discounts for adults. But is there anybody
out there also just raising money in general to help
people because people are losing paychecks now because of the

the end of it.

Speaker 8 (22:14):
He remembers things so well. I tell him one little

Speaker 1 (22:40):

the day, and everything people are talking about today in
the Bay.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
And also hang out because your Demi Levado tickets are next.
If you want to play the trivia game, we'll take
callers here in a sec. The weather for Halloween going
to be pretty spectacular. You are going to be partly
cloudy today, like the closer you get to the coast,
but out there inland it's going to be pretty beautiful.
And then by Sunday, for example, the high is going
to reach eighty in Pleasanton. It's perfect time to go

(23:26):
hit that Metal Lark dairy out there, that drive through
that I love with the soft serve. Heck yeah. Expect
cooler temperatures by next Wednesday, along with some rain. There's
about a fifty percent chance of rain next Wednesday, but
until then, gloriousness. Speaking of this weekend, daylight saving time
is ending as we fall back on Sunday and gain
one hour of sleep. Thank you, I love it. Go

(23:47):
to the sports desk really quick. The Dubs have a
game this afternoon. They are in Milwaukee taking on the Bucks.
Tip Off is at five o'clock. Let's go Fellas. And
then there's a Shark game tonight at the Tank as
they take on New Jersey. The puck dropping on that
game at seven o'clock. There's a new TikTok trend that
might actually be beneficial no matter how old you are,
but you have to start slowly otherwise it could get weird.

(24:09):
The fifty jump trend. I'm pulling my producer on really quick, Taylor,
do you think you could do the fifty jump trend?

Speaker 4 (24:16):
You know, I think I might be able to do it.
I think so.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Really fifty jumps in a row? Yeah? Like no editing, No,
I don't know if I could do it. Dude.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Ooh, it might be hard on the knees a little bit.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
But I talkin AB you could do it. Break in
your ankles.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Doctors are saying to start slowly. That's the one big thing.
Speaking of TikTok trends. If you jump on, it's Marcus
D on Instagram. Producer Taylor and I did the Whitney
Houston challenge on the roof of the radio station yesterday.
How tough was that? Taylor to If you're not familiar,
can you describe the trend really quick?

Speaker 6 (24:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:51):
So the trend basically is where you listen to the
song I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston and
you try to hit a drum at the same time
that the beat.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
You know, the part of the song. I know everybody
knows it because y'all were playing it in college, but
the off of the Bodyguard soundtrack, and there's that gigantic
loll in the middle of the song and then a
beat drops and it's impossible to hit. But who did
it better? Are you Team Marcus or team Taylor? That's
the question up on Instagram right now. It's Marcus D.
If you want to give it a follow, and that

(25:21):
is what's trending all right. Time to play the trivia game.
If you want to do this, let's go. It's eight hundred,
eight hundred and one oh one three more variety from
the two thousands. The nineties and today it's Star one
oh one three, It's Marcus. Good morning. It is time
to win the Bay's favorite trivia game called what you
Know about That? On the line to tickets to see

(25:42):
Tickets go on sell this Friday at ten at Ticketmaster.
Let's say good morning to our contestants. We take you
out to conquer and say good morning to Charlena. Hello,
what a pretty name that is? I love it. What
do you guys? What are you doing this morning? Okay?
What do you do for work? Okay? Is it? My
imagination is everybody in Conquered work in the medical field.

(26:04):
It's basically like John Muir Kaiser.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
It's pretty big out here.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Well, welcome, appreciate you having us on a feature. Opponent
will take it out the Menlo Park and sayhead to Jerry,
good morning. What do you have going on to school? Excellent?
Who's in the car. Let's say what's up?

Speaker 5 (26:22):
Ellie and Emma?

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Oh my god? The minions welcome you guys. Remember no helping.
You know the rules. Dad's got to do this on
his own. Game is super simple. It's five trivia questions
fifty seconds to answer them all. Each person is going
to be asked separately with their opponent on hold. Whoever
gets the most right answers wins. If you don't know
an answer, you yell out, pass, and we'll come back
to the question if we have time left. Okay, I
better play along at home in the car. Here we go,

(26:44):
Jerry and the minions go on hold in Menlo Park,
and we pick up Sharlena and conquered. Question number one,
What type of animal does Alice follow down a hole
and into wonderland? What shoes are also known as ucks?
Con of? What country was Napoleon Bonaparte once the Emperor?

(27:12):
Who is the Roman god of beginnings and transitions? Shown
with two faces? What is it called when you score
three goals in a hockey game?

Speaker 7 (27:30):
Three?

Speaker 1 (27:33):
You want to go with three goals?

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Now?

Speaker 1 (27:37):
All right, we'll go back to the first one you
passed on of What country was Napoleon Bonaparte once the Emperor?
Out of time? All right, Charleni goes on holding conquered,
and we pick up Jerry and Menlo Park. Here we go.
Question number one, What type of animal does Alice follow
down a hole and into wonderland? What shoes are also

(28:02):
known as chucks? Path? Of which country was Napoleon Bonaparte?
What's the Emperor?

Speaker 5 (28:16):
Italy?

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Who is the Roman god of beginnings and transitions? Shown
with two faces? What is it called when you score
three goals in a hockey game? Let's go back to
when you passed on? Who is the Roman god of
beginnings and transitions? Shown with two faces?

Speaker 5 (28:40):
No idea?

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Okay? What about which country was Napoleon Bonaparte? What's the Emperor? Peter?
Out of time? Hang on all right, Charleni comes back
and conquered. We'll see how she did against Jerry and
menlo Park. Question number one, what type of animal does
Alice follow down a hole and into wonderland?

Speaker 7 (28:57):
I should have gotten that one right.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Charlena said rabbit. Jerry panicked and said mole. The answer
is rabbit. Charlene gets the point. Next question, what shoes
are also known as chucks? Charlena said converse. Jerry ran
out of time. The answer is converse, point to Charlena.
Next question, of which country was Napoleon Bonaparte? Once the emperor?

(29:19):
Charlena ran out of time? Jerry said Italy. The answer
is France. Question four, who is the Roman god of
beginnings and transitions shown with two faces? Charlena passed, Jerry passed.
The answer is Janis. And finally, what is it called
when you score three goals in a hockey game? Charlena
said three goals, Jerry said hat trick. The answer was

(29:41):
hat trick. Point goes to Jerry. But Charlena is our
winner of the Demi Levado Tickets. Final score two to one.
Nice job. Whoa briety from the two thousands, the nineties
and today it's star one to one three. It's Marcus.
It's eight twenty four. We've been talking about irrational fears
this morning, this close to Halloween. Thought we'd get into
something scary most people. It typically goes spiders, it goes

(30:04):
you know, rats or rodents, or fear of you know.
Public speaking is a big one. They did a big
survey of like two thousand people. I think that as
far as the people listening to this show goes, I
think you might win this one though, irrational fears. What
do you have? Eight hundred eight hundred one O one three.
You can also leave a talkback the little red microphone.

(30:27):
You can leave a message if you're streaming Star one
on one three right now, go ahead? What do you got?

Speaker 2 (30:31):
I am so grossed out and afraid of shrimp.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Afraid of shrimp. Who's afraid of shrimp?

Speaker 2 (30:40):
I know they give me like full body, like a sweat,
like a fight or flight response when I see them.
They're just they're little spindly legs and that you can
still see their eyes and I don't look closely, but
like they're antenna. I just don't understand the appeal at all.
And they scare me.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
What did they ever do to you?

Speaker 8 (30:58):
They little sindily legs, little spindally weirdos.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, hold on, if you have an aversion to spindily legs,
I should probably get off the phone. I hope you
never see me in shorts. Oh, I think you hold
the crown right now. Afraid of shrimp.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
I'll take it, but keep them away from me.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
We'll do all right. Keep the phone number handy, because
we are going to be clearing the phone lines and
giving away another four pack of tickets for the Disneyland resort.
Going to get you some holiday magic for you and
the fam that's coming up. It's it's time for good news.

Speaker 9 (31:34):
Sometimes all you need is one a good thought to
make it a great day. So let's do this.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
It's good news on star FUNA one. Three. We do
good news twice in the morning. It's seven. It is
specifically designed to make you smile, make you feel good,
and to make you to remind us that that people
are doing good things out there helping other people. What
I would like right now is for you to hit
me up if you know of anybody in the Bay

(31:59):
doing what this coffee shop in Portland is doing, as
they are raising money to feed people that are affected
by the government shutdown, you know, including anybody you know,
government workers that just started not getting a paycheck, people
that are losing snap benefits as of the first For example,
Heretic Coffee Company, a volunteer run nonprofit cafe in Portland,

(32:24):
has raised over one hundred and eighty thousand dollars for
the cost from more than two thousand donors and they're
keeping everybody updated and they're using the money for their
breakfast program, which I think is pretty great because food
insecurity is about to go through the roof if we
don't have a resolution to this government shutdown by the

(32:45):
first So I think that's pretty awesome. Owner's name is
Josh and again it's called Heretic Coffee Company in Portland.
If anybody is doing this in the Bay, yesterday we
covered all the businesses that are offering free food for
your kids or discounts for the adults for the parents,
and that was an initiative I believe that was started
by I got to get a shout out to one

(33:06):
of my favorite pizza joints of all time, Tony and
Albo's down there in San Jose. If you know, you
know al Pastor Poppies on that train, Monster Fa and
Oakland's on that train. I'm doing this from memory Rusty Ladle,
which is just a soup company out there in the
sunset that is phenomenal. But we know about those businesses,
but do you know anybody who's actually raising money that

(33:27):
could use our help. Let's just keep getting together as
a community. It's one of the things I love about
the Bay. But if you've got somebody, hit me with
a DM it's Marcus d Up on Instagram. You can
also leave a talkback with the information the little red microphone.
If you're streaming Star one on one three, I appreciate you.
Let's get the word out all right. We're checking what's

if you jump on it's Marcus d on Instagram. My

(36:21):
new producer Taylor and I did the Whitney Houston challenge.
Have you tried this yet? Literally, you take the song
I Will Always Love You from the Bodyguard soundtrack that
we all wore out in college, and then you have
to try to hit that note after the big dead
space in the song. It's harder than you think. Who
