(00:22):
What's the deal? Leave a talkback on the iHeartRadio app.
Let me know, cuter the better. It's the little red microphone.
If you're streaming Star one one three right now, leave

two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star one on
one three. It is Marcus. It's Wednesday morning. I saw
the funniest headline. I need to know if it's legit.
These are the grandma hobbies that you're gonna want to
try this winter. And I've pulled in Producer Taylor because
you just turned twenty six, like two days ago. But
you do all of these things.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Twenty six with grandma's status.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Twenty six going on seventy six, number one on the
list of grandma hobbies. Crocheting are you in? Oh yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Are you kidding? You know how many balls of yarn
are just sitting in my house right now waiting to
be crocheted.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
That hat you brought it in a couple of days ago,
did you make that?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I did.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's a little cat hat that I made, a little
cat beanie and I crocheted it all by myself.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I can post a picture, police, That's all I want at.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Taylve t a y l o v ee if you
want to see me with my crochet.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Having my Instagram Producer Tailor at sixty six years old.
Puzzles Do you do jigsaw puzzles? Of course? Okay, what's
your level of anxiety when one piece is missing?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:47):
My god?

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Zero to ten? Then start?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
You know how many times I've been there, Marcus.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
My family does jigsaw puzzles. I can't it's too much.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I'm throwing the whole puzzle away.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I can't even finish it.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Burn it, damn, I'm gonna throw in a couple of
hard ones.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Scrap Booking, Oh yes, Marcus, what do you know about
scrap booking?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
My mother does it. That's what I know, and it
gives me anxiety. In fact, there is nothing that gives
me more anxiety in life than actually crafting out of
a box with no direction. I need explicit instructions of
exactly how to do something so that I can execute.
If you need ikea furniture put together, I'm your guy.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
You an a Lego set, would have a great night.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Out, but it has to be like a Lego set
with instructions. My parents tried to give me a fishing
tackle box of a thousand pieces of lego. I sat
there quietly, no instructions, and had a panic attack because
I didn't know what to do. When my daughter was
three years old, she had a craft box with all
manner of I don't know, multi colored pipe cleaners and confetti.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I think your crafting skills.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
No, she goes dad, Dad, Dad. She opened it up
and spilled it everywhere, and I almost died. She goes, Dad,
you could make whatever you want. You can cool. I
would like to crawl up into a ball and fall asleep.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
You have to accept the mess. No accept it, Marcus.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Where are you at with board games?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Be prepared?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
I have two.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
The first one is sorry if any of you have played. Sorry, Okay,
I'm pretty good at that one.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
And then six called, they'd like to talk to you.
Connect four, Connect four.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
I'm unbeatable, especially in this office. Unbeatable.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Don't come for me, all right? Running through the rest
of these really quick again. These are Grandma hobbies that
you want to try. Embroidery, needle point and jewelry making.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Two out of the three, Marcus, really two out of
the three?

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Who are you?

Speaker 5 (03:39):
You know?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
I'm a jack of all trades, master of none.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Thanks to get into this winter grandma hobbies? Did I
forget anything? Hit us on the talk back. It's the
little red microphone. If you're streaming Star one on one
three right now. Would love for you to leave us
a message and hang out because we got more tickets
for the Disneyland resort. Another four pack in a few
minutes seven thirty five. Get ready to win on Star
one on one three variety from the two thousands, the nineties,
and today it's Star one oh one three. It's Marcus Wednesday,

(04:05):
Good morning. I saw a stat that at first I
was surprising. Now I'm like, oh, no, that that tracks.
In fact, it's probably not enough. Americans say they spend
one third of their paycheck within the first twelve hours
of getting paid. And I've got producer Taylor with me.
Now you and I are two different people, so like
you're gen z yes, set accurate, and I'm gen x uh,

(04:25):
and this was so accurate that I'm like, one third
is low. Do you ever have that moment where you're
looking at your bank account when your paycheck comes in
and you fantasize that you're like loaded.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Oh yes, I have a moment where I'm so excited
and i feel super rich and I'm like, yay, I'm
just jumping with joy, and uh.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
You're blinking the rent comes.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
It's more like I see a concert coming soon, and
I immediately.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
My concert tickets. I see a bill from my kids' school,
and Taylor sees Billie Eilish. That's phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
No, actually, Marcus, seriously, the amount of times that I
have looked at it, been happy for about five seconds,
and grabbed my computer and said, here we go.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Just immediately put my credit card.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Information and can can I just pull the curtain all
the way back and don't be offended? But okay, I'm
gonna ask a question and you can tell me it's
none of my business and you can punch me. But like,
how much of your life is financed by your parents?

Speaker 2 (05:20):
I would say a good amount?

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Okay, Yeah, so I do have that luxury of being
able to just expend my bascout.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
You're living that life that I want. Like, I know
you have a brother. Do your parents need another son?
The problem is I feel like I'm financing my parents
most days. You're gonna get there at some point, I promise.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
You, yes, Circle of life.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
So are you okay? Because if I could go back
and do it again, I would probably still be living
at home again. What Taylor and I are discussing is
the average American says they spend one third of their
paycheck within twelve hours, and in the Bay, I feel
like that's low. I feel like we get our paycheck
and then the rent coms or the mortgage camp and
there it goes. You know what I mean. And then

(06:03):
you get that second paycheck of the month, and you
gotta pay your bills, and you gotta get your groceries,
and all of a sudden, I'm getting depressed. I'd like
to stop talking about this. Actually, anyway, food for thought.
The question on talkback is how much of your paycheck
just disappears? You blink and it's gone. Is it one
third or is it more than that? Let us know.

(06:23):
It's the little red microphone on the iHeartRadio app. If
you're streaming Star one on one three right now, you can
leave us a message. Keep it here, because, in the
vein of saving you some money, we have a four
pack of tickets for the Disneyland resort that's coming up
at seven thirty five. Just wake up with me, all right.
We'll get you hooked up at Star one O one three.
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today.
It's Star one oh one three. It's Marcus, It's Wednesday,

(06:45):
good morning. This is what I'm talking about.

Speaker 6 (06:48):
What's trending on Star one O one.

Speaker 7 (06:50):
Three, what's happening in entertainment news, the biggest stories of
the day, and everything people are talking about today in
the Bay.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
So the government shutdown has reached its twenty ninth not
much we can do about that. What I want to
highlight is my number one trend is all of the
restaurants in the Bay that are stepping up to take
care of people who might be losing their Snap benefits
also known as cal Fresh as of November one. I mean,
they're not gonna know where their next meal comes from.
So like, I just I love how the community is

(07:19):
stepping up. For example, you go to San Francisco, Al
Pastor Poppy, which you should be going to anyway, fantastic,
the Rusty Lady label my people out there in the sunset.
And again these are restaurants offering mostly free food for
your kids, discounts for adults. Monsterfa in Oakland, Puerto Rican
Street Cuisine in Oakland, a place called Understory in Oakland,

(07:41):
which is a Filipino based food and community supported, very
interesting menu. You go down to San Jose, the legendary
Tony and Albos Pizza, who I think started this whole thing,
Shrimp and Ain't Easy, which is a food truck in
San Jose. If you're in Santa Clara, Gamers Heaven is
offering free kids meals and then twenty five percent off
for parents. You go out to Conquered and you've got

(08:05):
og tacos and if you know, if anybody else hit
me up, I'm gonna put together a full list because
people again, people are in need out there as of
November one. By the way, this is not right now,
but we are set to loose snap benefits if they
don't resolve this government shutdown. That's my number one trend.
Warriors beat the Clippers last night at Chase Center ninety

(08:27):
eight to seventy nine. They're going on the road, first
stop Milwaukee to take on the Bucks. Your tip off
at five o'clock tomorrow night, Go dubs. It's gonna be
a nice Halloween. High's in the upper seventies Inland, seventy
by the coast on Halloween Day. Your most popular candy
to be passing out A no brainer here. In fact,

(08:47):
I'm even dressing up at as it for Halloween. The
Reese's Peanut butter Cup number one, Eminem's, Hershey's Chocolate, Snickers, Skittles, Nerves,
Sowerbatch Kids Twigs, kit Kat airheads. According to the survey,
and they surveyed over two thousand kids Please do not
pass out apples anything called a granny candy. I don't

(09:08):
really know what that means, but it says like necko wafers,
circus peanuts, any candy that's hard to chew. And please
keep your raisins to yourself. I don't know who needs
to hear that, but there you go. And that's what's
variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's
Star one O one three. It is Marcus. Good morning.
We're back with Second Date Update again this morning. Thank
you to everybody tuning in every morning. Appreciate you. Josh

(09:30):
Is on the phone, Hello, I loved your DM where
you were like, I can't believe I'm actually calling to
be on Second Date Update, but here we are. I
want to talk about your date with Tamra because I
want to help you out.

Speaker 8 (09:41):
Well, it's been a little weird for me here right.
I mean, we met on Hinge. We met up after
we exchanged some messages, and we went to dinner and
Walnut Creek a couple weekends ago at this point, okay,
and we had tapas, went super smooth, good food, good wine,
good energy, and she seemed really impressed by how confidently

(10:04):
I came in, I thought everything was just one hundred
percent top to bottom. Okay, especially considering a top us,
it can be very intimidating.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
And all those small plates rolling around everything's in Spanish,
a small plates.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
Honestly, not enough commitment. Everything's so small. You know, I
thought everything went really easily.

Speaker 8 (10:24):
I mean, we ate absolutely everything to put in front
of us, so, you know, seemed to be enjoying it.

Speaker 6 (10:29):
And we absolutely hit it off about our feelings on books.
You know, we're very.

Speaker 8 (10:37):
Oh yeah, a big reader, and I just I can't
get behind screen based reading. This is very much I'm
not I'm not there for the pixels, you know.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Sure, were there any awkward moments that you can think of?
I'm just trying to dissect why she might have ghosted?

Speaker 6 (10:53):
No, not at all.

Speaker 8 (10:54):
In fact, she went out of her way to tell
me about previous bad dates that she is on, and
it was like, oh, good, at least I'm not that guy.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Sure, but she's gone.

Speaker 6 (11:05):
Yeah, I haven't heard a thing.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
All right, We're gonna see what she says about the date.
I'd love to get you a second date, but let's
the very least get some answers, all right, but let's
positive thinking. We're gonna get you a second date. Can
you hang on the line? Absolutely variety from the two
thousands of the nineties and today it's Star one oh
one three. It is Marcus. Good morning. We're doing Second
Date Update right now. I've been chatting with my guy
Josh offline. I love this date so dinner and Walner

(11:31):
Creek top us and Josh, you did all the ordering that.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
Yeah, okay, perfectly.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Well, but Tamar has ghosted, so let's try to figure
some things out. Go ahead and mut your phone and
we will. We'll give her a shout here we go. Hello,
Hi is this Tamrah? Yes, Hi, my name is Marcus.

(11:58):
I do a radio show in the morning on a
station called Star one oh one three. I don't suppose
you listen.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
I don't, unfortunately.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Okay, that's fine. We're doing a segment on the show.
It's called Second Date Update. And I got floadd your
phone number by a guy who listens to the show
who went on a date with you recently. He's feeling ghosted.
I wanted to check in with you and see how
the date went. It's kind of like a teachable moment.
I'm trying to figure out if my guy did something wrong,

(12:27):
or if you've just been busy, or what the deal is.
Do you have a second to talk about it? Your
date with a guy named Josh Uh sure, thank you?

Speaker 3 (12:38):
So?

Speaker 1 (12:39):
He said it went really well. He said that you
told some good stories, that the food was good, that
you were lovely. He'd love to go out again. Did
you ghost?

Speaker 7 (12:51):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
I tried not to like ghost in general. I feel
like that's true, not like the greatest tactics, but honestly,
in this case, I just felt like I didn't want
to go in for a lecture on why I wasn't
making the right choice. I felt like there was sort
of a lot of lecture elements of our.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Okay gate, can you can you elaborate on that? I'm
just trying to figure out what that guy did wrong totally.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I mean, he seems really nice and like person of all,
and we had nice conversation, but honestly, the whole thing
felt more like sort of a ted talk on We
went out for top us, and it felt like I
was I was there to like learn about It felt
like a seminar on top of us rather than like
a getting to know you sort of date.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Okay, he kind of ran the ordering and stuff. Was
that not helpful?

Speaker 4 (13:48):
I mean he didn't really check in with me to
see what I wanted. And maybe that works for some people,
but like I don't like being ordered for, especially if
I don't ask for it. And whenever I suggested something,
he was like, okay, kiddo. There was a lot of
kiddo throughout the date, which is sort of a red
flag for me.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Like he literally said that, like that's what he called you,
is that he called me kiddo, and.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Like maybe he thought that was sort of funny, but
I thought it was pretty gross. And he explained Sangria
to me. There was just sort of a lot of
dissecting of the evening and he was like, well, you
probably aren't familiar with this, even though he had told
him that I had been to Spain and also just
like have been alive for a number of years, so

(14:29):
I know what Angria is.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
So it was just a lot of condescending in that department. Otherwise,
really nice, but maybe he thought it was my first
time out to dinner.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Other than that, it was amazing.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
Other than that, it was amazing, and I learned a lot.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Actually okay, well, okay, here's where we are with this
is part of this is Josh's actually listening right now
and awesome, right Sorry, I'd love to bring him on.
Great Josh, are you there?

Speaker 6 (14:59):
Yeah? Okay, yes I am.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
We've got some answers now, so, oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Hi.

Speaker 8 (15:07):
Okay, First of all, I thought I was taking charge
here because I was just trying to save us from
ordering six versions of the same croquette. I mean, you know,
I asked you about allergies, so I knew we were
getting out ahead of that one.

Speaker 6 (15:24):
Yeah, but just.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Because I don't have an allergy to something doesn't mean
I want to eat it. It felt like I was
with my like dad's friend at a restaurant, like I
needed help ordering.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
Yeah, but I feel like you need to expand your palette.
I mean, that's why we're there.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
That's what the whole point of Gothic is.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
No.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Oh, really interesting. So it was sort of like a
learning moment for me. It was an enrichment exercise for me.

Speaker 8 (15:47):
I mean, I don't see why I can't be everything's
an important opportunity for growth.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
But you already know the answers well, I mean.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
When it comes to tapis Yeah, okay, fascinating.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
All right, Hey you guys, hang on, hang on one sec.
Hang on, Hey, Tamra, I like you too much. I'm
not gonna put you through any more of that. I
don't think he was listening at all. Right, I'm gonna
I'm gonna let you go. You're amazing. Okay, Wow, all right,
we're gonna talk about one of my favorite subjects because
they're always so cute. I want to talk about marriage proposals.

(16:21):
I want to know how you did it. I want
to know how you were proposed to. Maybe maybe you're
thinking about it. You got the ring or whatever, and
you don't exactly know how or where. You don't have
an idea. Well, they just did a survey, and I'm
gonna help you out with a pro tip. The best
place to do it to ensure success, to get that
yes is probably the most boring place. Before I tell

(16:46):
you what it is, tell me how your man proposed.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Well, not worried it's not successful, but I did say yes.
I plant things in our garden all the time, and
like ninety percent of them do not take. And so
my fiance came into the house and was like, you
got to come outside. Something that you planted is blooming.
And I was in such a bad mood and I
was like, no, it's not. And then he got me
outside and I was like, these are all weeds. And

(17:10):
then finally he like ushered me over to the place
where one single sprig of dill was blooming huge, and
I was like the dell and started weeding it right away.
And then he's like stop that that this is happening,
and then he pulled out the ring. So I was
sort of covered in dirt and really excited about the
piece of dill in the garden, in the garden at
our house.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Having killed ninety eight percent of the plants that you've planted,
but keeping your relationship alive exactly.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
But that one deal brought us to marriage.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
So you're part of the statistic because they say the
most successful marriage proposals happened at home.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Okay, boring, but but when I.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Read that, you know what I thought of. Here's what
I thought of. Your man wakes up hungover on a
Sunday morning and forgot to get the ring, forgot to
get any kind of gift, forgot to do any kind
of prep just rolls over and grabs a ring pop
and goes, hey are we doing this? Because don't tell

(18:10):
me that doesn't happen.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Right, And that is a version that would be upsetting,
I guess. Also in mine, he had planned a surprise
party at our friends afterwards, so we left the home eventually.
But I feel like if it's intentional and not just
rolling over and being like I guess it's today, then
it's like a really nice intimate space, especially if you
don't want like a whole show or flash mob or whatever,

(18:35):
which a flash mob would upset me more than an
intimate home proposal.

Speaker 6 (18:39):
Right.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
You got to know your person. I think that's the
key thing. You got to know your person. Some people
like flash mob up there. Some people don't mind sentences
that start with hey you awake, Thanks for colin, I
appreciate it. So that's kind of the assignment on talkback.
I'd like to know how you got proposed to or

(19:00):
if you were the one doing the proposing, how did
you do it? Always cute and yeah, if you're thinking
about it. The number one spot for success apparently is
at the house. Okay, hang out for a few because
what do we have for you? Tickets for the Disneyland Resort.
You know this. We've been giving them up all week,

people after a dyslexia test revealed that she had dyslexia.
It also revealed that she had an IQ of one
hundred and thirty six, which puts her in the top
one percent in IQs, and so her ticket to MENSA

(20:25):
was absolutely stamped, which is again the International High IQ
Society for ladies at any rate. Like I said, she's
ten years old. Her family, her parents describer as very
humble but pleased with the recognition. She's going to be
pursuing stem maybe the arts, She's not sure, and she

(20:46):
thinks that these things suit her attention to detail and curiosity.
So ten years old, diagnosed with dyslexia, but after the
test they realized her IQ is one hundred and thirty six.
I love it seven. We're gonna check what's trending. In
a few minutes, We're gonna grab the winner of the

Speaker 6 (21:10):
I am from Oakley, Oakley.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
I love Oakley. That's like all the way out there, oh,
I mean, like from driving on highway for it till
there's nothing left.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
Yes, that is true.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Welcome, you're going to deal with the traffic. That's right,
you're going to the Disneyland resort. You got the tickets?
Are you serious?

Speaker 5 (21:29):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (21:29):
My god, I'm so.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Excited you win.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
This is so exciting.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Who's going with you?

Speaker 4 (21:34):
We're beating so fast.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
My grandkids I love.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
What they didn't wanting to go.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
There's three and four.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Oh adorable, but so excited.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Thank you for waking up with me every morning. I
appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (21:46):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
And also sidebar, do you know anybody with a boat
on my bucket list? Is party on the Delta? I
can bring the course light.

Speaker 6 (21:54):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
Yes, yes, I actually do.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
All right, we'll talk offline. Second chance to win right
now is on the Star one oh one three fm Instagram.
That's like a full vacation. If you want to get
your self registered for that, give it a follow, check
out the post and then we'll do this again at
eight thirty five.

Speaker 8 (22:14):
This is what I'm talking about, is what's trending on
Star one.

Speaker 7 (22:19):
What's happening in entertainment news, the biggest stories of the day,
and everything people are talking about today in the bay.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
I'm speaking of partying on the Delta. The weather is
going to be spectacular all week. I mean, if you
know somebody with a boat, it is. It is the time,
including Halloween, where your high is going to be about
seventy by the coast high seventies Inland. It's going to
be pretty awesome. It's the reason we pay extra to
live in California. Uh, let's see get government shutdown. Just

(22:46):
hit day number twenty nine. I want to highlight the
restaurants in the Bay that are stepping up to provide
free food, especially for your kids. For those listening that
might be losing their snap benefits, their CalFresh benefits. November first,
it was all started by I think Tony and albas
in San Jose, legendary pizza and they're offering free food

(23:10):
for the kids and discounts for parents. Al Pastor Poppy
was right behind there out of San Francisco, already an
awesome place to get some tacos. And then monsterfa out
of Oakland was the third. And then now we have
the Rusty Ladle in the Sunset. Love it there. What
a great place to get some soup. They're offering free
food for the kids and discounts. A place called the

(23:32):
Puerto Rican Street Cuisine in Oakland, the understory in Oakland,
which is Filipino food food Shrimp, and Ain't Easy, which
is a food truck out of San Jose. If you're
in Santa Clara, Gamers Heaven and then conquered an antioch
og Tacos, and then the list is growing and growing.
I'm trying to compile something that we can have up
on the Star one oh one three FM Instagram. But

(23:53):
I think all of these restaurants should be recognized because
it's you know, it's hard enough to run a restaurant,
but they are stepping up for the community. That's the
part that I like the most. Let's see the Warriors
beat the Clippers last night at Chase Center ninety eight
to seventy nine. Was the final go Dubbs. They are
going on the road for stopping Milwaukee to take on
the Bucks. Your tip off is at five o'clock and

(24:13):
then on the Marcus Let's see it's Marcus d up
on Instagram, also on Star one on one three FM
our Dad joke of the week. I like it, of
course I always do. So I need a rating. So
far I'm getting nine and tens. I did get one eight,
but it's all good. If you want to check it out,
it's up right now on the Star one on one
three FM Instagram. Give that a follow, and it's time

(24:34):
to get into the trivia game. You know what's up?

at ten am. We want to get them to you
before you can actually buy them. I need two contestants
lined up right now. The number eight hundred, eight hundred
one to one three variety from the two thousands of
the nineties and today it's Star one oh one three.
It is Marcus. It is time to play the bas

(24:54):
favorite trivia game. Call what you know about that? On
the line. Two tickets for Demi Levado eleventh to Chase
Center courtesy of Live Nation. Those tickets are going on
sale this Friday at ten am a ticket Master. Set
yourself a little alarmed. A couple of people trying to
win tickets. Let's say, how tore our contestants taking it
out to Danville? Say what's up to Jackie? Good morning, Jackie,
Good morning. What do you got going on this morning?

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Getting the kids to school?

Speaker 7 (25:17):
They've been trying to win tickets. They're in the car.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
We pulled over they're excited.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Look at mom being safe you what are their names?

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Let's say Hi, Dina, Hi and Cira.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Hey you guys right, you know the rules. No helping, okay,
lots of cheering. Mom's got to do this on her own.
You know the deal. Okay, pinky squares. Let's go to
Santa Rose and say good morning to Renee. Good morning, Renee,
good morning. What do you have going on?

Speaker 5 (25:41):
I'm bringing kids to school. I got Bryson, he's a freshman,
and I got a Lexia, she's a sixth grader.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Welcome to the show, you guys. Let's get started. The
game is super simple. It's five trivia questions, fifty seconds
to answer them all. Each person going to be asked
separately with their opponent on hold. Whoever gets the most
right answers wins. If you don't know an answer, you
yell out, pass, and we'll come back to the question
if we have time left. Okay, we play along at
Homer in the car. Here we go. Rene Go's on

(26:08):
hold with the kids in Santa Rosa, and we begin
with Jackie and Dando. Question number one, what is the
length of the playing area between the goal lines of
a professional football field.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Oh a hundred?

Speaker 1 (26:25):
What superhero did Gal Gado play in the twenty seventeen
film of the same name, Wonder Woman? What nickname is
used to refer to a war to a world known
British graffiti artist whose real name is unknown to the public?

Speaker 7 (26:43):
Thanks?

Speaker 1 (26:44):
What does the internet abbreviation t AS in Tom L,
Diaz and David R stand for? What is the name
of the swing used by acrobats in a circus? Go
back to the first one you passed on? What does

(27:04):
the internet abbreviation tld R stand for? Out of time?
Hang on the line?

Speaker 5 (27:11):
All right?

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Jackie goes on holding Danville. We pick up hern A
in Santa Rosa. How's it going good?

Speaker 5 (27:17):
Number?

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Question number one? What is the length of the playing
area between the goal lines on a professional football field?

Speaker 5 (27:25):
One hundred yard?

Speaker 1 (27:26):
What superhero did Gal Gado play in the twenty seventeen
film of the same name path What nickname is used
to refer to a world known British graffiti artist whose
real name is unknown to the public?

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Stand?

Speaker 1 (27:46):
What does the Internet abbreviation teas and Tom L, Das
and David R stand for?

Speaker 5 (27:54):
Tlb R? Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 6 (27:56):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (27:59):
What does the name of the swing used by acrobats
in a circus. Okay, let's go back to the first
one you passed on. What superhero did Gal Gadot play
in the twenty seventeen film of the same name. We
are out of time, so hang on the line for me,
all right. Jackie comes back in Danville. We'll see how

(28:21):
she did against Renee and Santa Rosa. Why sho number one?
What is the length of the playing area between the
goal lines of a professional football field? Jackie said one
hundred yards. Renee said one hundred yards. Points all around.
Nice job, people. Next question, what superhero did Gal Gadot
play in the twenty seventeen film of the same name.
Jackie said, wonder Woman. Renee ran out of time. It

(28:42):
is wonder Woman. Point goes to Jackie. Question number three.
What nickname is used to refer to a world known
British graffiti artist whose real name is unknown to the public.
Jackie said Banksy. Renee said Banski. We debated them on
this for a while in the studio, as producer Taylor
wanted to give you the point, Renee, but I can't.
Banksy and Banski are two different things. But that makes

(29:04):
her a better person than me, point goes to Jackie.
Next question, what does the internet abbreviation tld R stand for?
Both contestants passed. The answer is too long, didn't read.
And finally, what is the name of the swing used
by acrobats in a circus? Jackie ran out of time,
Renee said trapeze. The answer is trapez Jackie is our

(29:25):
winner three to two. You got to take press them frankly,
but there's nothing better than a well appointed home, something
that you can be proud of. Any if you don't
have anybody coming over, maybe you're doing a staycation at
the house and you want to twirl in a brand
new kitchen for the holidays. Kzy Kitchen Cabinet and Stone
is my spot and look talking about them for years.

(29:46):
They've been doing this for twenty four years now. They
have completely reinvented the way you do reno. Because you
have your designer on site, you have all of your
materials in a massive warehouse, and then you have your
installers on site. You don't have to go to like
three different places to get the best deals. The best
deals are at Kzy Kitchen Cabinet in Stone. Whether you're

(30:06):
the Redwood City location, or the Hayward location or the
South City location. It doesn't matter. It's all top notch.
They're gonna keep you on time and on budget and
you can still get it done before the holidays. Man,
that's key. Kzykitchen dot Com is the website or roll
by telling Marcus Sinch old variety from the two thousands,
the nineties, and today. It's Star one on one three,

(30:27):
It's Marcus Wednesday, Good morning. Who's this Steve? Steve from
what citysburg You're going to Disneyland?

Speaker 5 (30:32):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 7 (30:33):
Man?

Speaker 1 (30:33):
You got the four pack? My man?

Speaker 5 (30:35):
Oh my god, you guys are amazing. I do, miss Corey,
but you're doing a great job.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
I know that. You know what. I appreciate you, man,
I really do. Thank you for saying that. Thank you
for riding with us every morning. My dude, I didn't
do anything. You did all the work. So patch yourself
on the back. Who's going with you or?

Speaker 5 (30:52):
I got two kids they're thirteen and fourteen, Jada and
Addie and then my girlfriend Amber.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
I love it. Brother. Make sure when you guys take
a family selfie, make sure you tag us up okay
on Instagram if you can. At Star one one three FM.
I want to see the smiles. Hang on the line.
We'll get you hooked up. There's still another chance to win.
By the way, if you're already scrolling reels anyway on Instagram,
follow Star one on one three FM. There is a
post for a full vacation for some holiday magic at

(31:19):
the Disneyland Resort. This is what I'm talking about, is
what's trending on Star one one three.

Speaker 7 (31:26):
What's happening in entertainment news, the biggest stories of the
day and everything people are talking about today in the Bay.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
And then I forgot to mention wake up to win
at seven thirty five again tomorrow morning. I will see
you here. The number one story. I have government shutdown
going on day twenty nine. People are in danger of
losing their Snap cal Fresh benefits here on November one,
and there are a bunch of businesses in the Bay,
restaurants that are now offering free food as of November.

(31:53):
First for your kids if you are going to lose
your Snap benefits, they want to at least make sure
your kids are fed, and then discounts for the adult.
And I have to give a shout out to the
restaurant I believe started it all because it was the
first thing that I saw. The legendary Tony and Albo's
Pizza down in San Jose. Who hasn't eaten there? So
they're offering free food and discounts down in San Jose

(32:14):
as well. The Shrimp and a' easy food truck is
gating in on the action. Another one of the restaurants
that kind of started it all was alpast Or Poppy.
I would eat there anyway, obviously, Rusty Ladle out in
the Sunset. What a wonderful couple that owns that place,
and they are offering free kids meals and a twenty
five percent discount for parents. This is as of November

(32:35):
one again, if you lose your Snap benefits Monster Faugh
again one of the originators of this concept, and this
is in Oakland, Puerto Rican Street Cuisine in Oakland, a
place called Understory that I just investigated and looks phenomenal.
They are employee owned, community supported and they do Filipino
food and they are offering a free meal or pay

(32:55):
what you can options out there in Oakland and Santa
Clara Gamers Heaven in conquered og Tacos So a couple
of things here a if you know of any other
restaurants that are doing programs like this for people that
are gonna lose their benefits with this shutdown, or if
you can support these businesses. I'm gonna have a full
list up on the Star one on one three FM Instagram.

(33:17):
We will take care of you. Let's see Halloween come
in in Friday. It's gonna be nice and warm. I
have about seventy by the coast and just getting warmer
as you go Inland. Most popular Halloween candies two thousand
kids surveyed. No surprise here. Reese's Peanut butter Cup, which
is actually my costume this year, is your number one
hitter for candy to be serving at your house, followed

(33:40):
by Eminem's, Hershey's Milk, chocolate Bars, Snickers, Skittles, Nerds, Sour
Patch Kids and Twigs, KitKat Airheads. Not a single slouch
on this list. Least popular Halloween giveaways. Please don't give
away apples and they called it granny candy. This means
like circus peanuts, nechos like that, anything that's hard to

(34:02):
chew and raisins. Keep those to yourselves and ps does
anybody else do the thing in their neighborhood where they
have adult beverages for the parents, because we should normalize
that for sure, if you don't already in your neighborhood.
Let's see the Golden State Warriors beat the Clippers last
night Chase Center ninety eight to seventy nine was the final.
They're going on the road. First up is Milwaukee to

(34:23):
take on the Bucks. Your tip off is at five
o'clock Go Dubs, and that is what's trending. Coming up next,
we're gonna get you into second date updates. Marcus, I'm
about to get out of here. Pacey is on the way.
He's filling in for Jillian, who's off for a couple
of days. She and her husband are on a fertility journey.
You can actually, you know what, she's very honest about it,

(34:45):
and you can keep up with them, follow the journey.
Maybe you're going through it yourself, maybe you've been through it.
You can cheer her on at Gillian E Lane and
also at Star one oh one three FM on Instagram.
All right, I'm sure she would appreciate the support. She'll
be back in a couple of days. Also, your shot
to get to the Disneyland resort full vacation is up
right now again the best thing to do. Follow at
