Speaker 1 (00:00):
A variety from the two thousands of the nineties, and
today it's Star one on one three, It's Marcus in
the morning, right before six o'clock. Good morning, producer, Tailor's
in the house.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Good morning, are you? I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I was yesterday?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
It was busy?

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Was it? Were you busy?

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Were you?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
What's the word I'm looking for? Mmm? Not effective? Not responsible?
But productive?

Speaker 4 (00:19):
I was very productive day. Tell me I went to
many different stores.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
I picked up a lot of things. I feel very good.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I love the fact that I come in this morning.
You tell me you went shopping for a friend of
yours for a gift, and first thing you bought was
a pair of shoes for yourself. Yes, so on brand.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I know. I can't help it. They were right there
screaming my name.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I was very naughty yesterday.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
I know.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
What did you do?

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Have you seen that viral video where you're supposed to
get on a zoom call and then put tequila in
your coffee cup and blow on it so everybody thinks
it's tea. Yes, I did that.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I even went so far as to clip the little
from a tea bag and lean it over the side
of the cup and then I took a car. Now,
to be fair, it was three in the afternoon, which
means I'd been working for ten hours, and why are
you looking at me like that? And I even went

(01:19):
so far as to blow into the cup while I
was on the call. I held it with both hands
as if to keep myself warm.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I mean, I guess you deserved it.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I was basically a zoom happy hour, and I was
on a call with a bunch of other food nerds,
so I probably could have just said, hey, you guys,
I'm doing that viral thing where you actually you're sipping
Repisoto and said I don't know. Oh no, I don't
know what possessed me. Anyway, Welcome everyone, How is your
day yesterday? Leave us a talk back if you want

(01:48):
to check in on anything that's going on on the show.
For sure, that's that little red microphone. If you're streaming
Star one on one three right now, you can do
that and keep the radio on. You know what's happening today.
We have a chance for you to get the cat
Creek is seen a resort to see Jeff Foxworthy live,
plus that hotel room stay. We have thousands of dollars
in the base ten k day give away a thousand
bucks at a time. So if you want to win

(02:09):
some money, that's there. More Bruno Mars tickets today, all right,
they went on sale completely blown out. We've got you all.
The winning starts at seven thirty. Stay with us. Let
me ask you something. Do you find yourself staying up
later than you should?

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Oh my gosh, every single night.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Do you find yourself mad at yourself in the morning? Yes,
so you do the thing that I do. You actively,
out loud yell at yourself. Yes, here's me at four am,
after I stayed up until ten thirty watching my shows.
You dummy, Right, let's not do this again tomorrow. Well,
I was vindicated yesterday when I found out not only

(02:45):
are we not alone, because ninety six percent of people
do this. There's a name for it. It's called revenge
bedtime procrastination.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
That's me every day.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
It's a thing now, real people, normal people, responsible people
do it every other I do it every night.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Me too.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Unless I stop myself, I physically out loud, have to
say the words anybody else do this? You literally say
to yourself go to bed.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Right, I have to self discipline myself, which is frightening.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
So they surveyed two thousand people. Ninety six percent of
them admitted to this revenge bedtime procrastination. Most people saying like, look,
the day was hard. This is the only time I
have to myself, Like I have a family, right, so
I'm making dinner, I'm making sure everybody's got what they need,
what they want, and then they go to bed and
I'm just up doing stuff.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
The worst part is when you're laying in bed already
and you're scrolling and you could easily be sleeping. Well,
I have to just just put the phone down, but
you can't.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Funny, you should say that's the number one thing people
do when they revenge bedtime to procrastinate. They doom, scroll.
Are you feeling seen right now?

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yeah? Called out?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Actually, so I heard a saying sleep like it's your job.
I could repeat that every single day and still not
listen to myself. However, if you can get at a
good sleep and stay on a good sleep schedule, it
helps with the release of cortisol, which makes it easier,
for example, to lose weight, makes you more cognitively aware.
That brain fog that we talk about. Let's just be
better people. Let's let's adult.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I'll try tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Same all right, Hey, keep the radio on. Gonna get
you to Cash Creek Casino Resort. Not only are we
getting your tickets for the Jeff Foxworthy show, He's coming
in town in a couple of weeks, We're gonna take
care of your hotel room too. Get ready to win
right after seven thirty here star one on one three.
Now are we talking? You want to talk Super Bowl
snacks or do you want to talk about best foods
to avoid inflammation?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Snacks? You know I love my snacks.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You always default the snacks, dude. The foods for inflammation
sound pretty good, but let's just we'll table that for
another discussion. So top snacks for Super Bowl Sunday. Number
one on the list toward tilla chips, specifically Doritos. Oh yeah,
all day what's your flavor?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Mine is the cool ranch?

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Are you cool ranch? Okay? I'm not cheese all day long.
It reminds me of my dad. Whenever we went on
a road trip, Pops would have to have a bucket
of KFC and Doritos, the nacho kind setup so most
popular snacknation wide. And then you have to pair that
with either salsa queso or that beloved French onion dip.

(05:18):
Or you literally take the onion soup mix and you
put it in sour cream and you call it a day,
and you bring that and you go, I brought something.
Oh it's so good.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
God, now you're making me hungry.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
It's about to get worse. Regional favorites Queso still the
most popular in the West. Are you a Caeso girl?

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, I love Keso chips and.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Caeso processed cheese dips. In the South, Buffalo sauce up
there in the Northeast, that tracks ranch is the number
one hitter. I love the fact that this is what
we do for work. Tell me more about chip and dip.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Now, what do you got in the fridge? What are
we drinking? Do you guys do Super Bowl parties at
your house? Yes? Okay, So how do you throw down
there in Los Gatos?

Speaker 4 (05:57):
I normally don't pay attention. I'm there for the food, okay,
But we invite a.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Bunch of friends over. Everyone has to bring something kind
of like pot luck style.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
That's right, you're on alcoholic patrol. Yes, I have to
be very careful of my house because typically, yes, we
will get invited, and if we get invited somewhere, then
I'm going to throw down. There was one year that
I made chicken wings. I made Korean chicken wings, and
then I made these Vietnamese inspired braised and then deep
fried pork ribs with a sticky sauce. Yummy, and then
my wife will bring lumpia and then I'll make guawk. Now,

(06:27):
if we're by ourselves just watching the game, I have
to be very careful because I can't be throwing down
queso dip and chili and hot dog. It's just me
by myself.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yes, super healthy too.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
And then the number one hitter as far as what
you can bring, and I will post the recipe closer
to the Super Bowl are my holopenio piggy poppers. So
this is a holopenio pop. Imagine if a halopenio popper
met and married a pig and a blanket and they
had a baby.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Do you think I could have something like this this.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Little I mean it comes with a slice of holopenia
in it. Scary yeah for everybody else without gastrointestinal issues.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Thanks for putting me on blasts.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
I will post the recipe closer to the Super Bowl.
What's your number one hitter snack? What do you love
to drink? Are we excited about the Super Bowl? I'm
gonna throw in a go Niners. Let us know you
used to talk back. It's the little red microphone on
the iHeartRadio app. If you're streaming Star one on one
three right now. Now, here's what's running in the Bay
Area and on everything you need to know. Roll into

(07:30):
the weekend Strong. Let's see. We were laughing off the
air because apparently Rihanna says she's ready for her fourth baby.
I know, Preducer Taylor's got all the juice. What did
she say something specific or did she just say I'm ready?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
She said I'm ready.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
I think she just had baby number three and so
she's ready to go for number four.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Some ladies just like being pregnant.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I know she's been pregnant for like three years, four years.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
My wife was not one of them. She was like
one and done.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
You know, I don't even have to do it to
know that. I don't want to.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I mean, look, it's a beautiful thing, but four kids,
that's a lot.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
The iHeart Podcast Awards nominees have been announced. My cooking
podcast Chef's Day Off that I Do with Chef Dolan
at twenty five Rus was not nominated and there is
no opportunity for a write in.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
That's so messed up, which is lame, but I voted
for you.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Thank you for that. The Daily was nominated. I do
like that one. Also, Theo Vonn was nominated for his
This past Weekend podcast He's Nuts and I enjoy listening
to him. Call Her Daddy also nominated. That sounds like
do have you do? Listen to it?

Speaker 2 (08:33):
I've been listening since they started almost.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
And we discuss what it's about in a Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
It's totally appropriate it.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Yeah, it doesn't sound appropriate that.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Also when they started, but they've evolved.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Okay, let's give me a one sentence synopsis of Call
Her Daddy because I'm afraid to click on it. I
feel like it's going to send me to the wrong webs.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
It's just a girl who interviews celebrities, kind of like lifestyle.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Okay, Yeah, so they've cleaned it up quite a bit. Yes,
they're gonna hand these out March sixteenth, during South By
Southwest and Austin. There you go. Finally figured out what
Arianna Grande's big news was this is pretty cool. She's
returning to the stage. Apparently she's gonna be starring in
a adaptation of Sunday in the Park with George, which
is an old stage production, and it's gonna be with

(09:20):
one of her old her Wicked co stars, Let's see,
with Jonathan Bailey. So there you go? Is he okay?
So they haven't seen this on Broadway since twenty seventeen.
It's going to be hitting in London in the summer
of twenty twenty seven's tickets are on sale in May.
That's the information on that. Another big thing coming up

(09:40):
if you love K pop, The k Con k Pop
Festival is back in LA which is pretty great August
fourteenth through the sixteenth, promising another massive immersive K pop experience.
They you know what they better have is they better
have all that stuff that you could put on, like
facial and stuff. I don't know mind caare the skincare.

(10:04):
My wife and my daughter we go to Japantown and
they buy like sheets with snail stuff on them for
your face.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
Oh yeah, Korean's skincare is no joke. Yeah, they haven't
nailed down.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Just Asia in general, but and we have some friends
that went out there specifically and just came back with
a bunch of skincare. So anyway, k kon coming through
twenty twenty six in La August fourteenth through the sixteenth,
if that's your thing. And I did just play bts.
They're coming through the Bay. They're coming to Stanford in
May for a couple of shows. If you want to

(10:38):
win tickets, they are up right now on the Star
one on one three FM. Instagram me your chance to win.
Also there is our poll of the day, take it
away producer Taylor.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Yes, today is National Bagel Day, so we want to
know what is the elite bagel flavor?

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Do you like everything bagel, playing bagel, sesame bagel or
cinnamon raisin.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Sesame bag toasted peanut butter for the wind. That's my jam.
What about you?

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Cinnamon raisin?

Speaker 4 (11:05):
And I like the shmer from Noah's Okay, very good,
all right.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
It's a little fluffy. It is go sports really quick.
The Warriors continue their homestand they're hosting the New York
Nicks tonight at seven o'clock at Chase Center. Tip office
set for there, so go dubs, and that is what's trending.
It's Marcus in the morning of this time once again
for second date update. If you've ever been ghosted on

(11:29):
a date, this is for you. After day umber one,
you get ghosted, we call your date to figure out
what exactly happened. Specifically, I'd like to get you a
second date, but let's at least get some answers. Let's say,
how to Rachel. Good morning, Rachel, Hey, how are you good?

Speaker 3 (11:41):
How are you okay?

Speaker 6 (11:43):
I'm just like confused, you know, I don't know why
I got coasted.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
I understand you got a little fancy met up with
this guy Brian in Danville for cocktails. Yeah, let's run
through the date. Maybe we can get some clues. How
did it go? What happened?

Speaker 6 (11:57):
And it was all just so easy, Like we literally
went to this quiet little bar. We just sat down.
It's like easy conversation. We talked about her pets there,
we talked about like the favorite comfort shows, the office
for me, and you know, just things like that. It
went easy. There's nothing else I could say. He was
a really cool guy. I just I left feeling there

(12:19):
like wow, that was like a low pressure. Yeah, it
was just like really nice, you know, it's actually really
really nice.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
How many times have you replayed the date in your head? Gosh,
we do it every time, every time. Yeah, no, I know.
All right, Well i'll figure it out for you. We're
gonna have you mut your phone and then we're gonna
call Brian. We're gonna try to figure this all out.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
Okay, Okay, sounds good, Thank you, got it.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Hang on the line. It's Marcus in the morning, and
we've got Rachel on the phone. She went on a
date with a guy named Brian there in Danville and
it was just drinks. Rachel, you're still there. Yeah, you
said it felt real low pressure, like.

Speaker 6 (12:57):
Yeah, just like really low pressure, easy flowing, like we
were just kind of like in it, you know, we're.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
In the vaume.

Speaker 6 (13:05):
Yeah, it's good.

Speaker 7 (13:06):
And he's ghosted, So let's figure this out. Go ahead
and mute, and let's give him a call. Okay, Hello,
is this Brian?

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah, this is Brian Ran.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
This is Marcus calling from Star one O one three.
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Is it zoom from where?

Speaker 1 (13:32):
It's Marcus calling from Star one on one three. It's
a radio station out of San Francisco. I don't suppose
you ever listened to.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
No did I win?

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Number one question? Number one question? No, dude, we're doing
a something that I wonder if you might be able
to be on the air with us for a couple
of minutes. So we do a segment on the show
called second Date Update, and I got your phone number
from a lady who you took it a date recently,

(14:04):
said she had a great time, said it was very
low pressure, very easy, would love to go out again.
And I'm wondering if you have a minute to talk
about your date with Rachel. All right, yeah, I sure
did you ghost because she's feeling kind of ghosted?

Speaker 3 (14:17):
A Yeah, I did? I ghosted?

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Okay, it happens. Yeah, did something go sideways or did
she do something happened? Why?

Speaker 3 (14:30):
She is a really awesome she's a very sweet girl.
We had a good time. It's very chill, but it's
stuff started happening and the NAT that was really weird.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Okay, let me tell you, please hold on, let me
sit down.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Yeah, sit down because it was I don't know, it
was where its are and go all right, So you know,
we were just hanging out show and everything was really great.
Then their bartender ASTs like what we wanted, so I
got an old fashioned neat. It's my drink, and without
missing a beat, Rachel says, yeah, I have that too,
which I was like, that's so cool, Like I don't
know a lot of people who like the old fashion's
neat like me. And the bartender asked, you know about bitters,

(15:07):
and I said, yeah, I'd take some extra bitters. I
like my little Sharper. Rachel immediately says the same, I
like it Sharper too, and I'm like, okay, that's cool.
I guess that's wild. She likes the Sharper too, And
I went on, this keeps happening, all right.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
What keeps happening?

Speaker 3 (15:25):
This this this echo, It's just this echo is like
at first I thought it was cute and I was like,
what is happening here? I thought it was one like
punk or something. And then bartender drops a glass and said, well,
i'd my worst night my Rachel laughed at the same
moment and repeated, that's my worst nightmare. I was like,
what is happening we're talking? I said, I hate flying,

(15:45):
like I hate the turbulence when I'm flying, you know,
I just white knucklet stare right ahead when I'm on
a plane. Rachel nodded and said, yeah, I totally white
knuckle it and stare right ahead.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
I was like, what it was weird?

Speaker 3 (15:57):
You know what didn't sound mocky, It wasn't obvious.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
It was just and it wasn't like.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
At first I thought it was. I was just like, oh,
this is kind of crazy, and then I really thought that.
I was like, I was like, am I crazy?

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (16:10):
But it was happening over and over again. It was
like a parrot, you know. And then finally at the
point I said, honestly, you know, I'm a creature of habit,
and Rachel smiled and said, same, total creature of habit.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
What is going on?

Speaker 3 (16:24):
But the third time, you know, she repeated it, same wording,
same tone and everything. You know, I started to think
I was talking to an echo. And it was just really,
you know, I was like, did I just said? Well
I did? I did. I finally said, okay, I said
are you what are you doing? Are you copying me?
And she just laughed and said that's just how I
connect my mirror energy. That didn't make me feel better,
and this made me feel like it was like it

(16:45):
started to feel less. It's like it didn't feel like
chemistry anymore. I felt more like you. I was dating
myself with a half second delay.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
You know.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Okay, yeah, it was weird. That's it was really interesting. Okay,
well okay, yeah, yeah. So part of this is that
Rachel's actually listening, oh and come on, hopefully taking some
notes Rachel, what is going on?

Speaker 6 (17:09):
Honestly, I didn't realize I was doing that. I just
make like I mirror sometimes and like it just makes
me feel closer to people, like it helped build report,
to be quite honest, because I felt like very similar
about the things that I was saying that I felt
similar about, Like It's not like I was making any
of that app It was just harded.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
So is this is a calculated move then not really.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
It's just it's just like if I'm feeling the vibe
and you know, I just like mirror what's happening, and like,
what's the energy that's putting out? Is put out?

Speaker 1 (17:44):
And Brian, did you enjoy the date otherwise?

Speaker 3 (17:48):
You know, it was it was cool, but that was
it was too unsettling and I couldn't you know, it
took it really took me out.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Of it, to be honest with you. You know, and you're
you know, I don't.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
I'm not questioning your sincerity. You know, I'm sure you
felt those things. It's just it's, uh, you know, I
want to get to know someone, you know, I I
just don't want to hear my own personality bounce back
at me. And that's what it felt like.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Yeah, well, let me try something here, Rachel. I feel
like we've got a little bit of self awareness here.
I mean, this is exactly what second date updates for. Okay,
maybe we don't do the copying thing.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Yeah, of course.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I don't want to tell you how to be like.
I feel weird doing that.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
But I want to be weird for me. All I want,
and all I've wanted dating at all, is sincerity.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
That's it. I'm going to talk it can wet me
to Brian. Can we get a second date and we
listen to me like I'm going.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
To be there? Absolutely? You know what, Rachel, you were great.
Every other thing was great, and so you know whatever,
that's let's go out again. That sound good?

Speaker 1 (18:53):
I love it. This is happening. Oh my god, I'm
not even ready. Hold on, I got to get to
cow Bella Destiny. Where is it? Okay?

Speaker 5 (19:04):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
What else happened. We'll see you guys form round two
at some point. Keep us posted. Okay, congratulations, I love
this all right, hang on, very exciting. I love it
all right. Second day update back tomorrow morning after seven
o'clock dar one oh one three. It's Marcus in the
morning producer Taylor in studio. Hello, twenty twenty six might
be the year you decide to do healthy eating. These

(19:25):
are anti inflammatory foods that you should be eating right now.
Inflammation not always a bad thing. It helps to fight infections,
et cetera, et cetera, But when it hangs out in
your body too long, it's not good for you. Causes issues.
At first, I was like, this is going to be
an old man discussion. But then I'm reading these and
I love all of these foods, and I've got some
pro tips. Let's hear it, okay. Avocado's number one hitter. Yes,

(19:45):
they're creamy, they're dreamy, and they are packed with inflammation
fighting power. The only problem is the kind of expensive
and they're very unforgiving. As soon as you open an avocado,
it goes from ripe to black.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
In about five seconds. It's crazy, but my favorite breakfast
follow me on this. Get some real sour dough bread.
Like everybody's got a friend that's making sour dough bread
right now. Yes, get a slice of real sour dough
bread toast it off. Cover that with avocado, ricotta, cheese,
pickled red onions, very easy to make it home of
fried egg and top it with whatever seasoning you want.

(20:18):
I recommend Everything Bagel seasoning from Trader Joe's.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Oh my goodness, you're making me hungry.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
My favorite breakfast ever.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
That sounds so good.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Also good for fighting inflammation berries. The more color the better.
Basically they got vitamin C. It's a sweet snack and
you could take that. Drop it on your yogurt. Get
your gut health going super good for you. Got I
sound like I'm a hundred. Dark chocolate also good and
delicious to pair with raspberries.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
I am not a dark chocolate fan, not at all.
Actually I don't really even like chocolate period.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Well this's just grown to a halt, didn't it. So
moving on? Fatty fish and I live in half Moon Bay,
so we have access some of some of the best
salmon out there, and I have lost my taste for salmon.
We had it two nights ago. My family loves it.
I may get killer for ingredient tarioki sauce, but I
bought myself a steak which is the anti anti inflammation

(21:10):
salmon's sardines anything with omega threes. See also avocados. Also
on this list. Green tea. Green tea depresses me because
typically if I'm drinking green tea, which means I'm trying
to quit coffee, and I just don't want that in
my life.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Is there caffeine and greased Oh yes, oh gosh, scary.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Like That's the other reason I have to be careful.
If I start drinking green tea at three in the afternoon,
I'm going to be up until next Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
The only green tea I know are green tea shots.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Is that? What is that?

Speaker 2 (21:36):
The last thing that you have before a crazy night?

Speaker 1 (21:38):
That's I'll say that is that's the best way to
put that. Leafy greens obviously good for you, Thanks mom.
Nuts you have to be careful. Yes they are anti inflammatory,
but they are so calorically packed. The last worst thing
I can do is sit down late at night, turn
on a show and just grab a handful of trail
mix with a bunch of nuts in it. There's so
much fat in those things, but they're good for And finally, turmeric.

(22:02):
Have you ever worked with turmeric before? It is so messy.
That socchia seeds are the confetti of the kitchen. You'll
find those everywhere, like three days later you spill them
on the counter. Turmeric will stain your hands, It'll stain
whatever you're you're cutting board, it'll stain the counter. But
so good for anti inflammation consistency. It's typically either a

(22:23):
powder or a root like ginger. Okay, and it's delicious. Okay.
That rice I brought in two eight days ago, that
was yellow. Yeah, turmeric?

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Oh okay, okay, got it?

Speaker 1 (22:32):
See working for you? Yeah, anti inflammatory rice. Hopefully that
was helpful. All right, keep the radio on because the
winning starts in a few minutes. We've got tickets for
Jeff Foxworthy at cash Creek, plus an overnight's day. Going
to take care of your hotel room too, right here,
Star one O one three, it's time for good news.
That's right, we do it twice in morning.

Speaker 6 (22:51):
Seven.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
It is Marcus in the Morning. This is a story
about karma and how it can do beautiful things save
in lives. This is a story of a retired doctor
who saved a firefighter's life by donating a kidney to
a man she didn't even know. The way it unfolds
is crazy, though. So the firefighter's name is Veneto, and

(23:14):
he lives and works in Portland, and the doctor, doctor Karen, retired,
and she saw a story on the news about how
Venedo needed a kidney. Well, he happened to work for
the station that she had received help from a year earlier,

(23:36):
so a year prior to this all going now, And
she got in a big biking accident and she was
assisted by firefighters from Portland Fire and Rescue Station five,
where he actually had worked. So she sees him on
the news, she reaches out and she says, I want
to help. This was Christmas, just to just what last month? Yeah,

(23:58):
gave him her kidney. He is recovering. Everything's cool. Like
I said, out there saving lives. I think that's pretty awesome.
It's Marcus in the morning. It is time to win.
