Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now back to the twenty twenty six NFL Draft, presented
by Frost Brude Coorslud Cold is the Rockies and brought
to you by Dino's Pub and written on Sports Radio
ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome back to the Virginia Mason Athletics Center, Jackson Felt's
Christopher Kidd here with our twelve man draft coverage presented
by Frostburg Who is Like Cold is the Rockies and
brought to you by Dino's Pub in Renton. The Seattle
Seahawks twenty twenty six NFL drafts is complete. The number
two hundred and fifty five and final selection for Seattle

(00:38):
in this draft in the seventh round. Michael Dansby a
five to eleven cornerback from the University of Arizona. He
played one year at Arizona. He was his senior year.
He started twelve games for them. Since they started he
played twelve games for them. I had fifteen total tackles
and two interceptions. That came after three years at San

(00:59):
jo Is A State or in those years at San
Jose State, he played a total of thirty games in
his all of his college career, he had seven picks.
So Chris, this is a five to eleven cornerback four
years in college and perhaps, I mean, we will see
what they end up using him as as we'll see
if he calls in here and we get some talk

(01:20):
with the media. Also, of course, John Schneider Mike MacDonald's
scheduled to speak to the media here very soon. But
this could be one of those Nicholas we haven't seen,
you know, a Nickel specialist, kind of a slot corner
taken by the Seahawks. Yet this could be one of
those guys.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
It'd be interesting to see. Could he potentially be one
of those guys? Could he fill out a role on
special teams as a gunner. The opportunity is there for
Michael to make an impact, get known with the Seahawks
and if not, across the league, because there's film on
you now, so the opportunity is there. I'm just as
curious as you are to hear this phone call to
see what he's all about and with some of those answers,
But I think we'll learn a little bit more about

(01:55):
Michael and his style of play and what he thinks
they can bring to the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, the twenty twenty six NFL Draft is
complete for your Seattle Seahawks. Let's go over this. With
the first round, number thirty two overall selection, the Seahawks
took Notre Dame running back Judarian Price with their second
round pick at number sixty four overall. They took TCU
safety Bud Clark. In the third round at number ninety

(02:21):
nine overall, they took Arkansas cornerback Julian Neil. Then no
fourth round pick. In the fifth round, they traded a
twenty twenty seven fourth round pick to come back into
this draft into the fifth round, and they drafted Iowa
guard Bo Stevens. Then we moved on all the way

(02:42):
to the sixth round, where they selected Emmanuel Henderson, a
wide receiver from Kansas. And then three seventh round selections
here in this last hour, Andre Fuller, a cornerback out
of Toledo. You had a defensive tackle out of Minnesota,
Devin Eastern. And then this last selection here Arizona dB.

(03:02):
They're listening to dB here, Michael Dansby. We'll see exactly
how and where they want to play him. So Chris,
no edge rushers, no linebackers. But this is the first
look at the entirety of the Seahawks draft. Eight players selected.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
What do you think, my friend, they doubled what they
were supposed to get and should we be surprised? I
don't think so. This is what John Schnyder does. He
has more bites at the Apple. He has a ton
of talent that's coming in and it's all about the future. Right,
You're looking at this three to four years from now,
how many players will be getting that next contract?

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Right?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
So I think this is a great opportunity to solid class.
I like it. They went out and got needs. It
wasn't a panic mode like what can we do? They
just won a Super Bowl? So where can we get
better at some areas? And they went heavy at corner.
I just just say the DBVB. So they making sure
that coming into this season, dB will have zero question marks, right,

(04:01):
because that was the thing, like, Okay, we know Josh
job has talented, he's good, but what about the loss
of Greek Wool and how will that work out? And
they said, we got some guys that we're bringing in
that gonna fill that role. Just fine, we can't wait
to see what that looks like. Come Sunday.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yeah, I wanted to go back and see the last
time the Seahawks did not select an edge rusher in
a draft. I also want to go back and see
when was the last time the Seahawks have had a
draft where half of the entire draft was at one
area of the field, and not only defense of one
area of the field. In the secondary, where you had

(04:37):
four secondary players taken in the form of Bud Clark
the safety, we are Julian Neil the cornerback. You have
Michael Dansby the cornerback, and you have Andre full to
the corner four and three of them are are cornerbacks,
but four secondary players of eight overall selections. It tells
you everything I think you need to know about where

(04:57):
the priorities were for John Schneider and Mike McDonald.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Chris, Yeah, one thousand percent. So you can see that
it was building up that defense, making sure it's back
to where it was from last year elite right. And
the offense, Hey, you got one of the best receivers
in the game, if not the best, and JSN build
around him. You're being in a young receiver that can
learn a thing or two. You're hoping that Tory Horton
comes back from his mysterious injury and he finds a

(05:22):
good rollback Cooper Cup doing his thing. So this was
just an opportunity to just add some pieces to an
already good roster, great roster, dare I say, and you
just want to fill it some thoughts, some areas of
maybe concern that you just want to be a little
bit more like, Yeah, this is solidified now and this
is the moves we're making. So I like this draft, Claus.
I think it's it's fine.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah, I think that's what we're talking about here, is
the ability for the Seahawks to kind of just understand
what happened here in this recent offseason and figure out
what do we need to do to get us back
and win another Super Bowl. Is we're hearing the phone
ring right now, and we are going to get here
comments from the late, the latest, and the last Seahawks

(06:05):
selection in this draft. Michael Dansby, the cornerback from Arizona.
Let's head up there and hear from Michael right now.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
I mean, yeah, they were, they were interested in me,
but I didn't I didn't know a draft of boll Insrest.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
What kind of contact did you have with them.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
But before the draft, I had a had a Zoom
and a couple of yeah maybe draft to zoom, and
my agent was I got a couple of phone calls
from a couple of scouts, but that was pretty much it.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
Do you remember who you met with on zoom from
the Seahawks.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
The assistance corner coach than the corners coach, Michael?

Speaker 6 (06:49):
What was your thoughts as the draft was kind of
going on there? Did you think you were gonna get pickered?
Do you think you were headed towards undrafted at the
stage and kind of had your kind of day for
addressing and everything.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Yeah, honestly I was. I was I was expected to
go undrafted, but yeah, they Seahawks obviously came and got
me laid round, which is a blessing. But yeah, the
whole day I was just chill, not to couch with
my fam just just praying and hoping that somebody take
take the shot shot on me, and yeah, Seahawks took
the shot man, which was a great shot.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Tell us about your game. What kind of player are you?

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Uh, I'm a I'm a mad coverage player for sure.
You're gonna see you gonna see the effort on the film.
You gonna see that. You see the effort on the
practice film, but you getting the high, high explosive speechter
that could really cover and play man for a pressman
and its fact.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
How did you end up going to Arizona after deciding?

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Uh? So coach Brent Brennan, he he was the he
was the coach at San Jose and then he eventually
just uh, he went over to Arizona my junior year.
I was going to go my junior year, but I
want to do one more year San Jose State, So
I went over to Arizona my last year.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
How much of the Seahawks defense did you watched last year?
And how sad are you to be joining defense of
this quality that just won a Super Bowl?

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Honestly, the Seahawks defense was the most defense I've watched
all year, literally, and I'm beyond excited, beyond blessed, Like
it's like words cannot imagine or to just come out of.
How how blessed I am right now to be a
part of the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
Now, well, given that you've watched them a lot, how
would you describe the.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Defense from What do you like about him? First?

Speaker 7 (08:38):
Of all.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
It's what relates to me is just the effort and
the resilience to just get to the ball I see
not yet, not just the linebackers, but just everybody. The
DB's really running into the ball one hundred percent of
the time all the time, and just the ability for
the DBS to cover, and especially with that front line
with Murphy up there. Uh, that d line is for sure,

(09:02):
what what's what's causing Mayhem to release the stress off
the dbs and stuff? For sure? But yeah, that d
line is most definitely the what I most definitely excited
to play play with.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
And yeah, positionally, what have you kind of played in college?
Have you just kind of been on the outside or
have you kind of moved around to the slaughter other places?

Speaker 4 (09:24):
I was mainly outside, but I could I could for
sure learn learn the nickel on hundred percent, But yeah,
mainly I played ninety percent outside. Uh, Gunner Gunner is
my main thing. Gunners where I'm gonna make my money
out for sure. Uh this upcoming season, especially on special teams.
But yeah, gunner jammer and running down on kickoff. But

(09:48):
it wasn't too much running down on kickoff because our
kicker is just kicking off the end zoe every time though.
But yeah, gunner though Gunner was my thing. You Yeah, No,
I was not at the common by And.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Was it a four to three seven that you ran
at your Pro Day?

Speaker 4 (10:04):
No? I didn't. I wasn't able to do Pro Day either,
but by my training I was running four twos though
my fast was a four two five?

Speaker 5 (10:15):
And where where'd you run that?

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Just just training or yeah, trainer when I was in
when I was training for the for Pro Day and Minnesota.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Michael, you went to mcclimbons. Were your Raiders or forty
nine ers?

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Man?

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Oh, I was a Raiders fan.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Man, all right, just just checking you.

Speaker 8 (10:38):
Thanks.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Yeah, hey Michael, we are going to send you over
a zoom.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
So there you have. They're the Seahawks final selection, Michael Dansby, Chris.
It was almost exactly what you said right after the selection,
which was Gunner and the special team squad, and he said, quote,
I'm gonna make my money as a Gunner and Jammer
there on special teams.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
But the opportunity like that, you just gotta get in
and do whatever's asked of you. And the good thing
is he knows where his games at compare to everyone else,
and he knows the opportunity that presents itself. And you
come in and you're the best gunner, you will find
yourself getting reps. And that's all you can ask. And
he ran a four to two five. Good God, Wow,
that's blazing. So with that being said, he's gonna get

(11:20):
a lot of opportunities to get out there on the
field if he can make that speed and transition that
speed into making.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Plays for the defense. Amazed our special teams. All Right,
the Seahawks twenty twenty six draft is complete. We'll take
a quick break. We will come back and we will
hear from Mike McDonald and John Schneider at the Virginia
Mason Athletic Center. Our twelfth man draft coverage continues next.
Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Now back to the twenty twenty six NFL Draft, presented
by Frost Bruin Coors, Luck Gold Is the Rookies and
brought to you by Dino's Paul beIN. Ritten on Sports
Radio ninety three point three kjr.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
FM, Welcome back the two guys in twenty six NFL Draft.
Here the Virginia Mason Athletics Center, the draft is complete
for the Seahawks. Our twelfth man draft coverage presented by
frost Rude Cooers like Cold as the Rockies, also brought
to you by Dino's Pub and Renton Jackson Feltz Christopher
could coming at you here. In just a moment, we

(12:18):
will hear from Mike McDonald and John Schneier, the head
coach and general manager of the Seattle Seahawks, to talk
about their entire draft class. As the draft is complete,
the Seahawks have taken a total of eight players. One
of those players used with a pick from the twenty
twenty seven draft that they traded back into the twenty
sixth draft. Four let's go over very quick. You have

(12:39):
Notre Dame running back ja Darien Price in the first round,
TCU safety Bud Clark in the second round, Julian Neal
and Arkassas and Arkansas cornerback in the third round, plus
Iowa guard Bo Stevens in the fifth round that was
used from the fourth round trick and pick in twenty
twenty seven to trade back into this draft in the
fifth Also Kansas wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson Junior in the

(13:01):
sixth round, and then the seventh round three selections Toledo
cornerback Andre Fuller, Minnesota defensive tackle Devin Eastern, and Arizona
cornerback Michael Dansby, Mike and John Mike McDonald John Schneider
will talk about that entired class in just a few minutes.
By the way, Also, for those of us here who

(13:22):
are Washington Huskies fans, sorry Christopher Kidd. The Washington Huskies
had a number of players selected over this draft, and
four or five player excuse me, taken today Denzel Boston
taking number thirty nine to the Cleveland Browns in the
second round, to Carrio Davis the cornerback taking at number
seventy two to Cincinnati in the third round. Jonah Coleman.

(13:43):
We were wondering if Jonah Coleman might be a Seahawks pick,
but of course after the price pick, we knew it
was gonna be quite unlikely. But Jonah Coleman did end
up going in the fourth round, number one hundred and
eight overall to the Denver Broncos. Carver Willis, the lineman,
ended up getting drafted in the fourth round to San
Francisco Go number one hundred and twenty seven. The Niners
took another cornerback just twelve picks later. Ephesian's price sock

(14:07):
went to the Niners at number one hundred and thirty
nine in the fourth round, then Ontario Thompson number two
oh eight to Atlanta in the sixth round, and finally
Zach Durfi in the seventh round number two hundred and
thirty three overall to Jacksonville. Uh, you want to read
off any kug, Chris, I was just gonna ask you, buddy,
if we had any kugs lists off?

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
I feel like that would have been too mean, so
I didn't say it. But now that you asked, Yeah, man,
there's a few koug's.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Well, he transferred wide receiver and he ends up now
with the forty nine ers stribling. Oh my gosh, yep,
I cannot say his name, but former coup wide receiver.
He is now with the Niners, so we'll get to
see him twice a year. Hopefully he does design stribling
stribbling if I'm not mistaken, so he will have an
opportunity to get out on the field. I think they
can took him a third round, so he'll definitely probably

(14:54):
make an impact there.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
We'll see I think that was the first pick of
uh was the first pick of the fourth round, because
I remember it was a situation where we were kind
of wondering what the if the Niners were that was.
I'm thinking that maybe the second round where they were
they okay, do you trade out? Do you move? Because
San Francisco had made so many trade.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Second round thirty.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Three overall, and it was one of those things where
the Niners had had traded so much down in this
draft from various selections, you wondered if they were going
to move out of that thirty three spot. But they
select that receiver. I had mentioned earlier that I didn't
think the Niners took an impact player, but it's sort
of like Ricky pearsall right, you know, a couple of
years ago they take Ricky pearsall and all right, well

(15:35):
this guy develop into a impact player, and you know,
you saw moments, but he just hasn't. And for the
forty nine ers, they're hoping maybe this is the wide
receiver they can they can find some juice with, because
as we talk about the NMC West, I mean, sure
they got their ass handed to them in the divisional
round by Seattle, but that's a team who certainly needs

(15:55):
to make strides on both sides of the ball, and
for us here, we just hope that he doesn't turn
in to something.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Well, that would be nice, wouldn't it. Seahawks fans would
sure love for it not to work out, as Niner
fans would know. A bunch of things blew up in
their face, Brandon Ayuk being the number one issue there.
But back to the draft, I think this is a again,
a solid draft from the Seahawks. They hit on a
bunch of needs dB rooms, specifically getting a bunch of
corners and a safety, no edge guys, but they're comfit

(16:22):
in their D line and they also added some D
tackles an offensive guard. So I think overall, they just
hit on everything that they would like to see in
the next three to four years on this roster. And
I think it's a moving forward. I think it's a
good start, especially the team that just won a Super Bowl, Right,
they don't have too many glaring holes, right. They literally
were the top team in the NFL and they're looking
to maintain that. And I think but the guy that

(16:42):
they brought in they can maintain that.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
I think that's a great point, and the kind of
the question you're probably left with out there as a
Seahawks fan is all right, where are holes now? Because
we went into this draft, I think with I would
say two glaring holes, a hole at cornerback and a
hole at running back. And you want to say kind
of a lesser hole with that Kobe Bryant spot. But

(17:05):
just knowing the versatility of this defense, I was never
too worried about filling that Kobe Bryant place. Knew was
just guy you were gonna be able. And also you
know they brought in Roddy Thomas from Indianapolis yep, so
that was a guy that I thought, all right, I'm
not very concerned at the safety position when you add
a guy like that in free agency, but clearly with
their pick of Bud Clark, who is from everything we've

(17:28):
seen a one for one with Kobe Bryant, But you
look at those holes Chris and Jenarien Price fills the
running back hole that's now over. Just watching and listening
to Julian Neil, it's hard not to listen to him
and say that this guy is going to be a star.
He has the size, I mean really quick, really quick

(17:49):
before we hear from McDonald and Scheinder. I have the
status here. I wanted to do this and if I
can slip these in here, because Julian Neil has so
much confidence, in so much bravado, and clearly loves to
be a physical player. And I said to myself, when
was the last time we had a dB come in
here who has size, he has length, he has confidence,

(18:12):
he likes to be physical. Og Richard Sherman. So I
said to myself, all right, well, let's let's just go back.
And of course Sherman was. You know, I think he
played it fell that the guy was six'. Five he
showed up to the combine at six, Two Julian neil
six just under six. Two so just not too much out.
There but here's WHERE i want to really go through these, Comparisons,

(18:34):
Okay Julian neil's forty yard dash four four, Nine Richard
sherman's for six vertical jump For sherman was a thirty.
Eight vertical jump For Julian neil was a. Forty both
had a sixteen bench. Press they had zero point one
off of each other on a twenty yard. Shuttle they
had nearly the same three cone. Drill Julian neil was

(18:58):
a little bit better on, that a little bit more excuse,
me on that broad, Jump sherman was at ten to
five And neil was at eleven. Too all of this to,
SAY i can continue on and on and on and
on and. On Julian neil's combine numbers very very closely
Resemble Richard sherman's combine. Numbers and then you hear the guy,

(19:20):
talk and you hear him talk about the. Physicality you
hear him with that confidence it's gonna be, real real.
HARD i think For seahawks fans to not Watch Julian
neil in the preseason and the early part of the
season and not look at their buddy with a beer
in hand and, say everybody will will turn to their
friend and say to, them That's Richard.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
SHERMAN i wonder what the tape says, too because some,
players they might just be good on the football, field
but suck at. Testing, right you put him in front
of the lights and cameras and you, say, hey man
around the, forty hey do the shuttle? Terrible but they
go play football and you see how good they really.
Are and that might be. Him he might not be
a great tester in that, regard but he might be
a phenomenal football player when he gets out on the.

(20:01):
Field and that's one thing you just you just have
to watch. Football you can look at all the numbers
all you want and all the forty, times but if
he gets out there and he's dominant and knows what he's,
doing the instincts kick. In that's even more sherman. Like
Because sherman didn't put on the best, performance as you,
mentioned with all his stats on the forty and all,
that but when he played the, game it was a
whole different. Player it was, like, right WHY i even

(20:22):
test this? Kid, right he's that.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
GOOD i have something to, Say but really, Quick, travis
if you have a, moment maybe you can load up
the back and forth that we he had With humil
and it's only about a minute. Long but the conference
call that we had yesterday between and every one And.
Neil you have it, ready all, right let's let's actually
hear because this back and forth was during the conference

(20:45):
call Between Hugh million And julian And neil. Yesterday and,
basically The hugh he does with a lot of players
is just paint a scenario and take the player kind
of takes you into their, idea your, scenario and this
back and forth was probably the best we've ever heard
in that kind of. Interaction, Julian i'm gonna paint a

(21:08):
scenario for.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
You it's it's in the fourth.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
Quarter it's a critical.

Speaker 5 (21:11):
Time you get the huddle call or from the.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Sideline what's the, coverage what's the defense that that you
like the, most that you, say, yeah that's the ONE
i want to be, In and what's your role in?

Speaker 9 (21:23):
That, so so we're in a fourth two five country
country cover three basically a true. Zone wait you say
you say we're.

Speaker 10 (21:36):
In a fourth?

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Quarter, yeah fourth, quarter any important.

Speaker 10 (21:40):
Situation what's your favorite what's your favorite defensive?

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Call and you're rolling. It so you're saying you're playing
country cover?

Speaker 10 (21:46):
Three, yeah oh, no, no, no, no, no, No we're.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Playing.

Speaker 10 (21:49):
Man i'm gonnach. Them i'm gonna Go i'm gonna go tounch,
Them i'm gonna go touch on. Somebody i'm gonna go
punch on. Somebody they're not getting gassed. Me and if
you get, Gassed i'm gonna look back for the ball
And i'm gonna get. That it's simple and somebody the.
Line love.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
It, now are you in off coverage or impressed in this?
Situation i'm.

Speaker 10 (22:12):
Impress i'm all up in your. Face, Okay i'm gonna
get down and dirty with.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
It come on there at the. End but come, on
what are you kidding?

Speaker 7 (22:25):
Me?

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Like of course he is a.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Think Imagine devin with is being on one side and
him on the other With Josh jovin to.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
Mix good, lord.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
See that that threesome right, There that with those is your.
Dvs that's why we talk about the holest Of phil.
Cornerback for, me that hole With woolen leaving, gone that's
That i'm not. Sold i'm not even considering that a hole.
Anymore put a stamp on. It, okay we are here
at The Virginia Mason Athletic. Center we are moments away
from hearing From mike McDonald And John schneider to talk

(22:53):
about the entire SEA owx twenty twenty sixth. Draft let's
say one more quick. Break we will come. Back we
will hear From mike And john next On Sports radio
ninety three point THREE. Kjrfm welcome back to The Virginia
Mason Athletics. Center Jackson Feltz Christopher kidd wrapping things up
as The seahawks twenty twenty SIX Nfl draft is. Complete

(23:15):
they made eight selections in this, draft and we are
moments away from hearing from head Coach mike McDonald And John,
schneider who will talk about all eight selections for The
seahawks in a class where they Started chris with four.
Picks they, also i should, say traded a twenty twenty
seven pick to get back into this, draft but they
end up getting twice as many players as it looked

(23:38):
like they were going to starting On.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Thursday very impressive. Stuff just from the standpoint of starting
out with four, picks everyone's, like we don't really need.
Much Maybe john will trade back from the first round
and get into the second round and we'll have. This
so we have five. Picks he doubled that got eight
out of it with willing to make. Deals AND i think,
again with this, roster it's already good and it's stayed.

(24:01):
Consistent there are a couple of glaring things that you
wanted to. See FIXED dB room at, cornerback you get
a running, back you get some competition at, guard bringing
a wide, receiver bring another. Corner so you just trying
to build the best roster you can over the next few,
months going into training camp and all, that AND i
think they The seahawks accomplished, that and now it's about
getting these guys prepared to play some. Football.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Man, yeah and we kind of rushed out of that last,
segment BUT i wanted you wanted to ask you the
question that's going through my, head which is where is
the hole right? Now because the hole is it running?
Back for? Me the whole is a. Cornerback both those got.
Filled the lighter hole for The Kobe bryant position at
safety that's filled By Bud, clark and you, had of,
course you, know the new cornerback or new safety come

(24:44):
in From. Indianapolis the question THAT i think a lot
Of seahawk fans are asking is for The Super bowl,
champions where is the hole right? Now And, CHRIS i mean,
EDGE i guess For Boye mafe's. Departure but, HONESTLY i
don't even know how big of a huge concern that.
Is is there is there a glaring hole left for?

Speaker 3 (25:03):
YOU a glaring hole wide, receiver no, tackles no, guard
no anymore, center no tight end, room No Sam donald's the,
MAN i think IT'S i think it's well. DONE i
THINK i think you JUST i think they're in a good.
Space they're in a good. Space sure you would love
to bring in an edge, guy but you still Got

(25:24):
Mike morris who has shown he's shown that he's Still.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Riley mills is now. Here And Riley mills look great
in The Super.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Bowl he, did But a'll be it that period his
old line was straight up. Ass So i'm just being.
Real no disrespect To Riley, mills but HE i think
they like what they got out of. Him he hasn't
played because of an injury all season and he gets
an opportunity in The Super bowl and he plays good.
Football so they got some depth there on the. Edge
now let's just see how this training camp. Goes maybe

(25:52):
they pick up some undrafted, guys like there's opportunities there
to add to that. Group not saying that they shouldn't
have in the, draft but do you see they. Didn't
BUT i still Think Mike morris has something to. Show
you Mentioned Riley mills J. R, singleton who guy's probably
never heard. Of so they have some dudes that, okay
push comes to. Shove maybe they get their opportunity Help Jamie,

(26:13):
sheriff you remember that, name preseason standout last, year got
brought onto the practice. Linebacker he plays, linebacker but they
put him to they put him on their. Edge he's
Behind DeMarcus lawrence AND i want to Say Jared. Ivy
so two young guys that are gonna get opportunities again
this year to showcase their skills. Set so not to
mention your tennonu wo su And Derek, hall those are

(26:35):
two guys that are you, know they're gonna go out
there and do their. Thing connor O'Toole he's another, guy
another kid that it's gonna get an. Opportunity so that
might be like the one area Where i'm, like, okay
they could have added, something BUT i get why they.
DIDN'T i guess it's like not a like oh we
got to do, it or you, know they lose boy a,
mafe they still have a really good.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Unit.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Yeah the the, UNITS i don't think is a. Concern
it's sort of like one of those things where are
we just concerned about it because we didn't get a
guy selected in this draft that position or as an
actual concern to that. POSITION i don't think there's an actual,
concern and you look at every level and they're just
there isn't that. Weakness and again you look at the

(27:16):
rest of THE nfc and especially the rest of THE Nfc.
West did any team adding free agency plus the draft
get markedly better than The seahawks in this last few?
Months and you can, say, okay, well The rams did
add a pretty darn good member in their secondary members
in the in the former the Former, Husky but is

(27:37):
that enough to jump The seahawks who had a very good. Draft,
meanwhile a draft where The rams didn't do too much for.
THEMSELVES i, mean you end up getting a quarterback who
can you, know take maybe you know from if this
is year, zero you take years you, know, three four
or five. Six but that's not helping him win A
Super bowl anytime the next couple of. Years there was
news today that they're working out an extension For Matthew,

(27:58):
stafford And Matthew stafford might be there for a. Pass
this could, be you, know the The Aaron Rodgers Brett farb,
situation of The jordan Love brett farm, situation where they
may see the fruits of their labor With Pye simpson
in a few years but The seahawks are in a
Super bowl window right, now and this Super bowl window
is only gonna last a few. Years you maximize, that
did The rams and less need just say to, themselves

(28:20):
we're gonna punt and we're gonna try, to you, know
capitalize on a window when The seahawks are, done and
we're just giving them this window because if they, are thank,
You Los angeles will take. It and Clearly sean McVay
wasn't happy about it.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Though he wasn't too. Pleased AND i think for The,
seahawks you just you you look at what you have
and again you just try to fill areas of concern
that they might have, had and they did that based
on how they. Drafted they took care of the areas
where they felt needed the most attention to detail in
terms of draft. Status SO u you look around the, league,

(28:54):
well just look around THE Nfc west that is. YEAH
i Don't i'm not sure how The rams are gonna
feel about their after in three to four. Years could it,
be could it work? Out could we all be surprised
That Tys simpson is a really good? Quarterback, sure but.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
By the time he actually starts and gets, going and has.
SUCCESS i think The seahawks, Championship windle will be in
the rear view.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Mirror, okay you KNOW i, would you know, What i'm
curious to hear WHAT La radio sounds like right.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
NOW i think they're. MAD i THINK i think THEY'RE
i think THEY'RE i mean one of, that and that's
based on something that just is me watching videos on
YouTube And twitter And instagram where there's draft parties and
there's little backyard, parties AND i, mean what's great about
social media is you only see the things that are
in your, algorithm and a lot of my algorithm right

(29:42):
now if you're looking on the for, you For instagram
is lots of football reaction things and a lot of
that is just angry rams fans and watch parties where everybody's. Swearing.
THERE i love one where everybody's kind of just murmuring
to each. Other then one guy screams out. Idiots and
it's one those things where you wonder if IF la

(30:03):
is going to look back one year from now and, Say,
god you know, what we were just one piece. Away
if we had just DRAFTED x Y z players instead Of,
simpson we could have Jumped. Seattle but we didn't and
we're losing in the division round because of. It and, Honestly,
chris that's WHERE i see this is. Going and maybe
maybe It's seattle filling THE nfc championship and one of

(30:25):
them takes out The rams to get. There that's that
might be my bet right. Now but the reality is
The rams they got better in the form of free.
Agency BUT i just don't see it right now that
they that they really got better Than. Seattle WHERE i
think this was their opportunity to, say all, right we

(30:47):
made this, move we can make it the thirteenth pick
and we can draft a player that will put us
over the. Top and they they just they decided to
just you, know they decided to just say, now we
don't want to take that.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
Shot let me ask you this not to go too
much unto This ram. Stuff But i'm curious before we move,
along why do you think they lost last season to The.
Seahawks if you had a pinpoint an area on that
team of what didn't, work what.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
Would you say it.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
WAS i think it was clearly the fact that they
were playing In. SEATTLE i THINK i think if if
THE Nfc championships IN la THAT i mean we're talking
about on the edge of a. Knife But i'm saying
three of these games were on the edge of a knife.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Despite, that so let's not even look at where they.
Played what position would you say was their weak? Point
to the point. Secondary so that's WHY i think maybe
they screwed up taken thirteenth, overall but their secondary has
improved when their offense stays. Healthy that's another. Thing health
is tricky if they can stay.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Healthy and that's and that's Where i'm going to come
at you, with is THAT i think their offense is
going to take a step.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Back.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
GOTCHA i don't think that there's a chance in hell
That Matthew stafford has ANOTHER mvp. Season oh, OKAY i.
CAN'T i can't See Matthew stafford being a year older
and having another season like he just.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
Did he can't Pull lebron in THE. Nfl.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
HUH i just don't think. THAT i don't Think lebron
exists in THE.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Nfl, well just in terms of being able to get
neither and be.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Better, YEAH i, mean right, NOW i don't think there's
a Little.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
The closest THING i guess with The Aaron, rodgers BUT
i don't know if he got. Better, everyone when was
the last Time Aaron rodgers was? Good not even not even,
okay when last? Season when was the last Time Aaron
rodgers was? Good it's been quite a.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
While like THE nfl doesn't have that ageless guy Like
Tom brady was obviously ageless The. Unicorn there's there is
no ageless. PLAYER i don't Think Matthew stafford's he had
he had one great, season but you know he's all
he also he's also one hit away from being. Done,
yeah and you know at that. Age so once, again
we're at The Virginia Mason Athletic. Center this yucks uh

(32:45):
and the overall twenty twenty SIX nfl drafts complete were
moments away from hearing From John schneider And mike McDonald right.
Now we know that they are making many many phone
calls to undrafted free agents and, Clearly, chris even though
they had three seventh ron, picks there's a there's a
lot of calls going on for The seahawks and their
staff downstairs right now.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Bringing in as much tone as they. Can, jess we
didn't hear your thoughts on the. Draft would you think
of the overall assessment of?

Speaker 7 (33:07):
IT i would say that IF i, were you, know
just your Typical seattle, Fan i'd probably look at this
and be like almost, bored, uh just because it was
so standard and they did exactly what they should have.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Done i'm.

Speaker 7 (33:20):
EXCITED i think they did exactly what they needed to,
do but they're you, know obviously the running back was
a glaring, need right and they did that. Immediately, okay
great cornerback immediately. Failed so it's just it's almost like
The Super bowl when you know we were going into,

(33:41):
It seattle facing The, patriots it's.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Like we're gonna.

Speaker 7 (33:44):
Win just like it almost seemed like it was too well,
done you, know it was almost just, like oh you,
did we have nothing to complain. About that's an odd,
feeling and it's almost what What chuck was saying earlier.
Today it's, Like, wow this is the first time that
the in his eleven years of doing, this that The

(34:06):
seahawks fans haven't been.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Like where's our offensive?

Speaker 7 (34:09):
Linemen where is our offensive. LIMAN i didn't even think about,
it because you don't think about offensive linemen until you have.
To AND i think when you listen to them, speak
you know that that's just the way they, are and
they prefer that. WAY i think it's a great draft.
Overall and WHEN i say, BORED i don't mean. BAD
i just mean that it was just so perfectly executed

(34:32):
to what they want to, do and especially because they
had to pick at thirty two right and didn't get
those trade, backs what they were able to, do they you,
know they turned it into eight, pigs.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
You, Know John schneider. Did John schneider thinks you wonder
if they would have made all the trades they did
here today and going back and getting more picks and
having three seventh, rounders you wonder if they would have
made all those moves if they had been able to
trade back at number thirty because that was the conversation was,
was and they were very upfront saying it before the,

(35:05):
draft that, hey, listen we want to trade. Back then
all those trades.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Happened was?

Speaker 2 (35:09):
It four of the previous five picks in front of
them had made trades there before number thirty, two and
you kind of just get left out to dry and
nobody else needs to trade up there to number thirty.
Two so that explains. That but if you, Know i'd love,
to you, know be With John, schneider you, know for
over a beer and just kind of say, like do

(35:30):
you have any? Regrets do you have anything in this
draft that you, know looking back after these eight, picks
do you wish you did or that you wish. Happened
And i'm absolutely Certain Jess chris that he would hit
he would, SAY i wish we had been able to
trade back from thirty. Two i'm not sure if there's
a single other thing he'd say other than.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
That, Though, YEAH i looked at that running back. Spot
IT'S i think it's more than a filler BECAUSE i THINK.
Jd price could be a weapon with this, offense not
the Way knine, was Because knine is, different right he
has the four to three. SPEED i Think jaderian could be.
IT jd can be his own weapon in a sense
that it's slightly, different but he can fill a major
role right, away which is starting running BACK rb. ONE i, Know,

(36:11):
HUGH i think, everyone all the draft fans that we've
had on the station have said HE'S rb one off
out the.

Speaker 5 (36:16):
Gate as soon as they.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Drafted it wasn't a. Question it was, Like, nope he's
the guy everyone else seconds behind. Me so you fill
that role and then you build depth immediately right. That
right after that On day three With Bo, stevens If
i'm not, mistaken he was All, american, right and.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
He, was, yes, yeah He's team Ap All. American yeah he.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Could he could definitely become a. Starter but all all
credit DUE ab is gonna be ready to. Go Anthony,
Bradford mike McDonald has given nothing but positive praise for.
Him he comes in and he won that opportunity last,
season And mike McDonalds excited to see what he can
do this, season as he was on with The softy
And fan and You jackson what was it two weeks
ago talking about. It SO i know that's just gonna
be one of those situations where it's a compete from

(36:58):
mini camp all the way through preseason into week. One
so that's gonna be fun to see An emanuel what
is It Henderson? Junior the speech the wide? Receiver, okay special,
teams maybe can you find your? Rhythm can you find
a way onto the roster as a, Receiver like there's opportunity,
there especially with the situation Of Tory. Horton that, is
you know It's april twenty fifth and it's still a.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Mystery so And henderson is certainly The greek young replacement
at gunner because, well that was a great gunner and
this special team value there is still one for one to.

Speaker 7 (37:29):
That, yes, YEAH i mean another thing that stood out
to me so much with this, Drift probably my most
exciting moment was treading a future fourth rounder twenty twenty
seven pick to trade into the fifth round to Get Bo.
Stevens that speaks so highly of what they think of
him as an offensive lineman and he was pure offensive

(37:50):
lineman that we. Heard and, yeah that actually probably was
the most exciting thing when we saw that trade and
then we found out what the capitol was given for.
It although they have so many PICKS x, year they
did need to add more AND i was wondering if
they were gonna do more with that pick and perhaps
turn that pick into more. Picks but that just speaks

(38:11):
so highly of what they think of.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
Him, yeah speaking of Both, stevens the guy who just
walked in front of us with the lime green, shirt
our Friend Corbyn smith From Emerald City, spectrum not only
did he predict The seahawks would take Both, stevens he
predicted The seahawks would trade up in this draft for Both.
Stevens he nailed it on two, levels Did Corbyn. Smith
and this is a, GUY i, Mean. Chris we talked
about it with That minnesota defensive tackle in the seventh,

(38:35):
Round Devin. Eastern this is a guy in Both stevens
who also has the consistency and also versatility should mention
started twelve games at right guard in twenty twenty. Two
he started twelve games at left guard in twenty twenty.
Four this last, year he started all thirteen games at left,
guard first team offensive line in all of college. Football

(38:55):
they had a top running, Back Kamari, moulden who ran
at a five point two yard Per kerry Cl over
one hundred and seventy rushes last. Season you, KNOW i
think it says a lot that you're able to take
a you, know a, big big ten offensive, lineman and
you hope that this only breeds the competition there right.
Guard because, listen Whether Anthony bradford can can take the

(39:16):
Super bowl, performance because he had a Good Super, bowl
whether he can take That Super bowl performance and turn
that into consistency and a strong twenty twenty six. Campaign
you would hope that he does. That but if he
needs a push or if Even Bo stevens can slot
in and become that. Guy you only want that right
guard position fixed because all other four spots are. Done

(39:40):
you have a single concern at any other offensive line
spot except for Both stevens or except for this right guard.
Spot and if Both stevens can push or become that,
guy then your entire OFF i, mean when was the
last time that we looked at an entire offensive, lineup
might be the First Super bowl and SAID i don't
have a concern in any of these. Spots it's BEEN
i mean even then that, ye, right there was the

(40:00):
concern of J. R. Sweezy so it's been a long
time since we had zero concerns about any spot on
the offensive. Line we're close to.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
That not to mention With Anthony, BRADFORD i believe this
is his final year under his rookie, contracts so you
better step. Up so with that being, said the pressure
is on for. Him if he has a good if
he has A Pro bowl, YEAR i would imagine The
shaws bring him back and they pay.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
Him.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
Now if he has an average, year well that's Where Bo.
Stevens if he, doesn't let's say bow doesn't win the
starting job And anthony does okay enough to be the. Starter,
Well bo has that opportunity next year Because John snyder's
not known for handing out cast old lineman that or you,
know mid level you gotta, be you gotta Be Charles,
Cross Abe. LUCAS i Imagine Gray zabo's gonna get a

(40:42):
bag once.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
He gets my big the most expensive guard in all football.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
Exactly so Unless Anthony bradford is gonna be playing at
that type of, LEVEL i can imagine that it's still.
Expiring and then now you Have Bo stevens who maybe
got in a few times because players get banged, up
gets a few, reps and ends up starting for that
next season twenty twenty seven to twenty eight. Seasons so
that's kind of HOW i view, it especially we've taken
that pick and how they did it and going drafting

(41:06):
back into this year's draft and getting.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
It clearly they love the guy if they're willing to do,
that and yes they have like what twelve picks in
the twenty twenty seven, draft but still to trade from
that draft into this draft says a lot about how
they feel about Both. Stevens we're still waiting to hear
From mike McDonald And John schneider here at The Virginia
Mason Athletics center as they will talk about the entire
twenty twenty Six Seattle seahawks draft. Class while we have a,

(41:29):
Minute christ's let's share our two cents On Jendarium price
because it happened On, thursday AND i know you And
greg obviously were On friday talking about, it but it's
been all draft for me at, least AND i wanted
to talk about This seahawks offense now as it will
look In week one of the twenty twenty six, season
Where Zach sharpay is still dealing with the. Injury who
knows when he will come, back but it seems to

(41:52):
me That Jenerium price will be able to step in
be the, Starter day one impact, player your top five
fantasy football, pick probably somewhere in that. Range but we're
talking about a guy who is obviously the backup to
the number one running back in THE nfl, draft and
obviously love and here he is now getting his shot

(42:13):
to be the number one guy right out of the
gates here With, seattle and you wonder if he's gonna
be able to come in And Wally Pip Zach sharbone
and take over and have the burst as a rookie
and make a statement THAT i should be the guy
And zach SHARBON i should stay the number.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
Two that'll be interesting BECAUSE i don't know how Long
zach's going to be out with that. Injury my guess
it would be he won't be back fully Till. November
because when you bring a player, back you're not gonna
just feed him to the, wolves, Right you're gonna give
him ample opportunity to get the reps in before you just, say,
hey here's thirty. Carries hey extensive. Workloads SO i imagine

(42:52):
that it'll be an easy end situation for.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
Him we are moments away from head Coach mike McDonald
and general Manager John schneider stepping the podium here at
The Virginia Mason Atlennin. Center the media is gathering around
the table at the front of the, room as we
will hear from the two of them here in just a.
Moment but, YEAH i, Agree, chris it'll all matter about
the questions of the timing With, price the timing With

(43:17):
charbonnet in terms of how much leeway they Give price
to be the. Guy and also you know they bring
In wilson From Green, bay and you know they have
a couple of guys on the roster that they clearly,
like and seeing if They tlani yeah, right and seeing
if they get a shot at, it and seeing how
much time that they may take away From. Price but
because their word listening in the reality Is Jendeian, price

(43:38):
there's a reason why he wasn't a top ten. Pick
there's question marks about him being a three down back
with the pass. Protection can he be that? Guy, well
The seahawks are pretty confident with a guy Like George
hallane to come in and pass protect on third. Down
they have guys that they can do. That The, packers i,
know Used wilson with some of. That SO i think
overall you look At price as a guy who can

(44:00):
take first and second down and you're pretty comfortable with
that Until sharbonny comes.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Back not to mention Cam akers right Former, ram is
he still he's still on the. Roster, Yes kenny McIntosh.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
Assumed he was gone because it feels like Cam akers
has a different team.

Speaker 3 (44:15):
Every, year If i'm not. Mistaken the series have seven running,
backs so they're they're they're locked and. Loaded, obviously they're
probably gonna keep three or four so practice squad for
a couple of these young, men But Daylas jones another running,
back speed, guy so they they have room to figure this.
OUT i do think, though it'll BE Jd, Price Emanuel,
wilson Maybe kenny, McIntosh and Then Zach straberney gets thrown

(44:39):
into the mix once he's fully. Healthy BUT i think
it'll be a slow build up For zach just because
you don't want to rush a guy back too. SOON
i think in that, scenario you just want to week
by week see where he's at and make sure he's
ready for this load that they're gonna offer him when he,
returned BECAUSE i think if The seiks are going to
move forward WITHOUT k, Nine Zach strabeney had it if
he didn't get, Hurt Zach strabay is probably gonna get

(44:59):
the number one, SPOT i would, imagine and then they'd
still draft a guy to try to do what they
did last season with The yin And. Yang you have
a powerback who is going to pound it into the end,
zone and then you have your speed, guy whoever it.
Is JD's not the speed, guy BUT i think for
what the series are trying to. Do he can balance
out just fine and it'll, WORK i. Think and the
other Thing price can do is return, kicks and we

(45:22):
saw him do that At Notre. Dame he had three
touchdowns return from, kicks and you want to take that
out Of rashid.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Him that's my point is this is that you are,
ABLE i, think to now feel fully comfortable in, case you,
know she'd goes down or in case something like. That
where all right we because remember When Tory horton he
was the, guy, Right Yeahry horton goes, down and so,
like all, right well who's who's the kick?

Speaker 3 (45:46):
Returner?

Speaker 2 (45:46):
Now in a moment later they make the trade and all,
right now we Have Rashid shihed and we have one
of the best in THE nfl who, PROBABLY i, mean right,
now is there a better kick returner in the Entire
National Football? League i'm not, Sure but now though the
answer is. No but now you have the covered not
Only Tory horton, back but you have NOW i think
three guys who you can put back there to return

(46:07):
kicks and you're fully confident in all of. THEM i,
mean that's that's a luxury to have for a team
THAT i, mean, clearly you, know this is a staff
that is, very very concerned about having the best special
teams in The National Football. League and that's evidenced by
the the investment they've made in kick, returners in, gunners in,
jammers in these types of players where they've drafted a

(46:29):
couple of them over these last few. Days and you and,
well can we explain while we? LAUGH i think WE
i think we have to.

Speaker 7 (46:39):
Explain the somebody just break the coke can into the you,
know just really really bad.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Shot AND i forgot THAT i was we, all we're,
all we're all at the very end of. DRAFTING i,
MEAN i have a happy peanut butter and jelly sandwich
here That i'm trying my best to Emulate Hugh millan
THAT i haven't finished a whole P b AND j.
Here but, YEAH i, Mean chris with with this, staff
they very much and It's, harbor, Right harbor is a
special teams, coach and they very much want to have

(47:07):
the best special teams. Unit and you talk also about
where The rams lost THE nfc, championship it's special, teams.
Right that's the fumble on that, Punt so it's not
only the. Secondary it's both places there as The seahawks are,
really you, know trying to find a different type of
way to have advantages over various teams in THE. Nfl

(47:28):
as we're just moments away here from hearing from head
Coach mike McDonald and general Manager John schneider here at
The Virginia Mason Atlantic, center just moments away from hearing
from them on the entire draft class today that Included
Jendarian price running back From Notre. Dame you Had Bud,
clark you Had Bo, Stevens Emmanuel, Henderson Andre, Fuller Devin,

(47:48):
Eastern Michael, dansby And Julian. Neil that was The seahawks
full draft. Class let's now hear From mike McDonald And John.

Speaker 8 (47:55):
Schneider all, right, yeah just AND i just want to
start off SAYING i love our. TEAM i, MEAN i
love our, people everybody that works on, This like every
year we're so blessed to be able to do. This
and it's LIKE i can't tell you about the like the,
coaches the, scouts, medical everything that goes into. This and

(48:19):
then you all our guys like working the phones today
and like rookie free agency and the whole. Process it
is just we have great people And i'm Very i'm very,
personally very, grateful AND i want to say thank you
to everybody through the. PROCESS i gave you my. Phone

(48:41):
well let's going, On.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
So, yeah with, that.

Speaker 9 (48:49):
Go.

Speaker 8 (48:49):
Ahead, no it's your.

Speaker 5 (48:50):
Time you came into the four.

Speaker 6 (48:54):
Picks come out of as many players you dead and
the guys you, guys how excited you the mood you're
able to make the dad in this.

Speaker 8 (48:59):
Class, Yeah, unfortunately people don't want to trade with us
until like the sixth and seventh round or fifth and
sixth round or some stuff like.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
THAT i don't know why.

Speaker 8 (49:07):
That happened like that this, year but, no we WERE
i felt like all the way, through we were, targeted
we were, clear we had a we had a, plan and,
uh you're always gonna have some, upsets you, know through
throughout the. Process we had a couple of those.

Speaker 4 (49:23):
For, sure.

Speaker 8 (49:26):
But you, know the coaches were awesome about moving forward
after those upsets and and the scouts and everybody that
was working the phones and what the landscape or the
board was looking, like and uh, yeah it was just
and just being the great. Process we added some we
added some guys that like all all the way through
that were like, okay, cool like like there's a there's a,

(49:48):
plan there's a, vision there's a like collective feel for
moving forward with these guys and how they're gonna compete
with our with our. Team can you tell us about
that the decision to move up for post even or
move into the fifth round for Post. Stevens, yeah it
was too big of a gap and, yeah too much

(50:08):
too much talent there and and both came my thirty
visit and we had a we had agree it's a
really cool thing with the, coaches right like a, yeah
just you're nodding like it's, like, yeah like the color
announcer from a major league right, there take.

Speaker 2 (50:26):
Over, NO i mean, no it was a.

Speaker 8 (50:32):
Cot, no just the process of coming in and, yeah.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
He was still there in the fifth.

Speaker 8 (50:43):
Ground is that why he jumped?

Speaker 5 (50:44):
In just uh, yeah we were pretty.

Speaker 8 (50:48):
Surprised but when it's The gouda lasts that, long you're, like,
okay how do we how do we figure this?

Speaker 4 (50:55):
Out and you know we. Did we.

Speaker 8 (50:58):
Did end up we didn't have a plan to kind
of play the you, know the you, know uh compensatory
game if you, will and and uh so we were, like,
alright we have the twelve picks next, year what does
it look? Like so, yeah and our c the coaches
just we need a lot of buying from the coaches
aren't really excited about.

Speaker 4 (51:18):
'em might two two of them start, Talking, oh thanks
for asking like a.

Speaker 5 (51:22):
Questions two.

Speaker 4 (51:23):
Men they all seem like they were energetic and self
as sure and yet they understood what it's going to.

Speaker 5 (51:31):
Take do you repeat on the Super bowl winning?

Speaker 8 (51:34):
TEAM i know there's like three things that are, there
but you just seem to go through all all new
players that you.

Speaker 7 (51:40):
Drafted.

Speaker 11 (51:41):
YEAH i think it's just again it speaks to this
like the alignment with our with our people and the
things we're looking. For but you don't have to be like,
that you, know to be to be one of us
and for us we wanna y to want. HEAR i
think it's you know, so but it it's cool that it's.

Speaker 5 (51:58):
Worked out that.

Speaker 11 (51:58):
Way and, uh and we got great LIKE i, Said,
UH i think it was day, one like we had
great competition in our team and uh we have a
lot of depth and be able to add some extra
pieces later in the. Draft is gonna be uh really
fun to sort that out as the process gonna.

Speaker 8 (52:12):
Unfold you guys triple up at the quarterback position to
seven bruners.

Speaker 5 (52:16):
Today what are you excited about those two? Players how
they get fitted into that grew. Petition, yeah there's definitely
some special teams, value.

Speaker 4 (52:25):
But like you, know.

Speaker 8 (52:28):
You can never have too many, corners you, Know AND
i don't Think i've been a part of a team
that has dis many like drafted corners on their on their.

Speaker 11 (52:37):
Team and so going into, camp which is really. Exciting
so it's gonna be a fun, competition. Man you, know
it's gonna be really cool to see get these guys
in here and get moving and and see where it.
Goes so AND i Know jay's really excited, Too.

Speaker 5 (52:51):
Mike Ud you guys didn't add an edge in this.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Draft really great to see either with some of the.

Speaker 5 (52:58):
Guys you've gotten the roster that maybe you think can
step into that.

Speaker 4 (53:01):
Role.

Speaker 11 (53:02):
YEAH i Mean Jared ivy is a guy that that's
that had a, great great season last. Year you, know
he wasn't act as many days as he probably. Wanted
But Jamie sheriff's another guy for two years been WITH.

Speaker 8 (53:15):
Us conor O'Toole.

Speaker 11 (53:18):
Was up and does a lot of great.

Speaker 8 (53:19):
Things as anybody, gains we get, games.

Speaker 5 (53:23):
Jailing gains is.

Speaker 11 (53:24):
Back SO i, mean we're really excited about those, guys
and they really worked really hard last year AND i
think all of them were ready to go if need
be to go play in a. Game it's just that's
the way the rosters shook out on a week to week.
Basis so, yeah we're we're fired up about those.

Speaker 8 (53:42):
Guys and, again we're so early in our like the
draft kind of normally hits first week of phase, twoish
we're kind of week ahead in terms of the process
when the players get. Here so we're early right now relatively,
speaking in our. Process so, uh you, know we're off
to a great.

Speaker 5 (53:59):
Story.

Speaker 11 (54:00):
Art we gotta keep keep nailing these days with these
guys and and see where see, where see where it takes.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Us you guys After monday and you can sign free
agents without effecting the compic.

Speaker 5 (54:08):
Formula uh do you guys just may maybe adding more
to the competition at at the? Edge, yeah we, may.

Speaker 6 (54:14):
Yep john with the O'Toole And ivy, specifically last, year
you had some crunch points throughout the year where we
had to put some guys on waivers like The anthony
and And jared to not do that with With ivy
and o'tooles that kind of speak to what you guys
thought about them at the.

Speaker 8 (54:28):
Time, yeah potentially, similar absolutely very good preseasons to credit
to our uh our you, know our pro willy and
our proper personnel staff with like identifying like, hey like
these are the players that are these are the teams
that are looking for a specific position and excuse, me
and uh, yeah it was definitely part of the process

(54:51):
With Emmanuel.

Speaker 5 (54:52):
Wilson would you like about? Him is there some carryover
with like what dereek if you.

Speaker 8 (54:55):
Have most, YES i Mean jay with this guy is
an outstandings but a team square and, Uh.

Speaker 4 (55:03):
Mike reminded me.

Speaker 8 (55:04):
Today you know he's clocked at like twenty two to.
Four you, Know Miles brow with football paths. On i'm
not sure if you can run like, That brady or. Not,
yeah it's pretty. Fast yeah, yeah but uh, no relations that's,
awesome but uh well.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
Played but uh you know HE'S i.

Speaker 8 (55:24):
Mean it's just just a ton of speed and uh,
Yeah jay's we were really excited to be able to
Get jay spend so much time preparing for the, draft and,
uh it was so great to be able to get
like like one of his very top players he's excited
about and Fits.

Speaker 5 (55:39):
John you go over the, YEARS i thought kind of
expanded the Amount you've expanding that people you've had name
in the draft calls you a lot of different teach
in The sky.

Speaker 8 (55:51):
Department other than, yeah it's just A i, mean the scout's.
Putting they're they're away from their families so, much and you,
know Like ryan's.

Speaker 4 (56:00):
Two beautiful little.

Speaker 8 (56:01):
Kids he's gone all the, time and it puts so much.

Speaker 5 (56:05):
Time it's just it's just a cool.

Speaker 8 (56:07):
Thing they build these relationships with these guys and it's
just great for them to be able to like finally
say hey, man we're gonna select, it and, uh you,
know hand the phone to the head coach and you,
KNOW i, MEAN i feel very grateful That i've been
able to do this for a number of. Years and you,
KNOW i hope others in our in our room will

(56:28):
be able to do the same. Thing you, know be decision,
makers and it's just fun to let them let them do,
that and you, Know bert's it's you, know we're gonna
be obviously the team's gonna be, sold and so it
Was bird's, last, last last draft with us And, BECCA i,
mean she's, like this girl works her tail off and,
sorry young woman works her tail, off and uh so

(56:50):
it's fun for her be. Able weird, joke and she
kind of sounded a little ai, ish but you, know
it's very fun for her to be able to do that.
Too and it's just always backward these people in the,
background don't you.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
KNOW i get.

Speaker 8 (57:01):
It you guys are, interviewing you, know the players and
the coaches and everything aout the, year but there's a
lot that COEs. In it's behind behind closed doors and.

Speaker 5 (57:10):
Fuller in particular with a guy that it seems like
people thought might go higher for you guys that are
a Good, yeah but what do you guys like about?
Him you, guys you know it's something he's got about
the versatility.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
And what he's done in the.

Speaker 11 (57:20):
Back, yeah, YEAH i mean IT'S i think you're just
looking at like an overall really good football. Player and uh,
again going through the process meeting with.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
Our coaches.

Speaker 11 (57:31):
And it's like it's, tricky tricky with the multiple position,
thing but like the ability to be able to do
those things is, exciting really.

Speaker 8 (57:37):
Smart just let's go out a great football. Player you
know he's playing on teams special teams players as.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
Well you know.

Speaker 4 (57:46):
He had a, great a great.

Speaker 8 (57:47):
VISIT i MEAN i say that some guys don't have great.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Visits you know WHAT i.

Speaker 8 (57:51):
MEAN i feel LIKE i say that to. You guys are,
like this guy had a great visit and, uh, coaches coaches, Exciting,
yeah guse are different area of the, Board.

Speaker 2 (58:01):
John, devin get him in the seventh round where you're
started and get the sad would see him fitting under
this defensive one defsive line and.

Speaker 8 (58:08):
Strict, yeah our coaches were very excited at a you,
know a gap player that can get up and down
the last scrimmage and have some upside as a pass.
Rusher and, uh let's see What patrick says about him.
Here you guys will dig this analytics. Talk.

Speaker 9 (58:22):
Here let's see.

Speaker 8 (58:26):
There's analytics. Talk young, players solid stat line with a
better than average pass rushing or run game, production good physical.
Profile these are the analytic stuff of this deal all the.
Time so that's Gonna patrick put us together for. Us
SO i had to Getting patrick a shout, Out but,
no he's a this is this guy's a. MONSTER i
mean he's huge and like it's a it's a really
cool again came in on thirty. Visit coaches were, excited

(58:48):
scouts are. Excited here we.

Speaker 5 (58:50):
Go your guys are cool to get young players who
aren't IN Awe Super bowl Champions where do you think
he measured up this?

Speaker 4 (58:57):
Year did now went? Good? Jump?

Speaker 8 (59:01):
YEAH i mean they wouldn't have been. Underboard, really that's
that's a Big it's a huge, like, uh they weren't
gonna be underboard if we felt that.

Speaker 5 (59:09):
Way how did how that?

Speaker 8 (59:10):
Show AND i say that like this g like like
that our scouts felt that?

Speaker 4 (59:14):
Way?

Speaker 5 (59:14):
Yeah how did that show up with little?

Speaker 8 (59:16):
Scouting?

Speaker 5 (59:17):
Ho how cause that's how it COULDN'T i guess.

Speaker 8 (59:19):
Sometimes it could be COMPETITOR i KNOW i could talk
to you about this for. Hours it is, Correct like
these guys study these guys, forever so it's like a you,
know like there's like we have a competitor, scale and
like how they fit in a competitor, scale and what's
their self UH c efficacy and like how they gonna handle?
Competition John?

Speaker 5 (59:41):
John would they Would dan's be you s didn't didn't
have anything at the combine pro day kind of, metric
timing wise and.

Speaker 6 (59:48):
Everything what'd you kind of learn about them from from
a number standpoint through your process that you could and
then what can you kind of those by?

Speaker 7 (59:54):
Him?

Speaker 8 (59:55):
Competitive, quick, sticky and we felt, like you, know we
were missing. Out i'm like now taking IN dB From,
arizona cause there was LIKE i don't know how, many there,
were like seven of.

Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
'em taking thing like.

Speaker 8 (01:00:04):
That SO i feel like we had to get in the.
Mix we had some FuMO, there uh. Whom, No he's
he's a very COMPETITIVE i mean that had a great defensive.
Backfield he came from San Uensis, state and you, know,
YEAH i RES i was really excited about. Him and
it's one of those guys. Too you, know the seventh

(01:00:25):
round you're getting closer to free agency and it's, Like,
okay who are the guys you're gonna?

Speaker 5 (01:00:29):
Go H so he he told us that he's run
in the four, twos AND i mean IT'S.

Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
I he's a cornerback CAUSE i can tell you, That, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:00:41):
He's.

Speaker 5 (01:00:41):
Swaggy he's.

Speaker 6 (01:00:42):
Swaggy does that general speed level kind of show up
for you when you when you see him on tay
you have four twos or.

Speaker 5 (01:00:47):
Whatever but right when you start.

Speaker 8 (01:00:48):
For, You, yeah he's, fast, fast, Quick yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:00:52):
Like.

Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
That he's been a good.

Speaker 5 (01:00:55):
Time it's been a rough weekend For mike's cool like
a a non football one for. You what do you, mean,
guy hear dad?

Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
Here this where is the old man.

Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
Given his?

Speaker 11 (01:01:08):
Journey, yeah that's it's. Awesome this is uh shout. Out
i'll Appreciate john for the way we the way we operate.
Here it's it's, uh it's pretty. Unique but, yeah it's
been awesome to have me here and uh see him
and him And bill hanging out and figuring out the
draft board and get the binocular out and solving the
problems and.

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Play a little, golf you.

Speaker 11 (01:01:30):
Know but, yeah any anytime we get the chance to
spend time, together it's definitely, chair especially where we're at
on the.

Speaker 8 (01:01:36):
Map so that was really.

Speaker 5 (01:01:37):
Cool you're always.

Speaker 8 (01:01:42):
There's a lot, more certainly it's just enough just in the,
playoffs a lot of personnel.

Speaker 5 (01:01:47):
Turnover it seems like this year seems to be more
comp complete team going in to you trying going in,
Today do you do you feel that?

Speaker 4 (01:01:58):
Way do you do you think that That?

Speaker 8 (01:02:00):
NO i liked you, mean like right now at this,
time after the after the, DRAFT i felt really good
about our. Team, YEAH i. DON'T i, mean WE'RE i
FEEL i feel really good about our. TEAM i just
have a natural anxiety that that drives us to, constantly
constantly be on the lookout for how we can prove

(01:02:23):
in every aspect of our operation or that's, yeah that's
basically like you never ever feel like it's like it's,
like oh, yeah We're like you feel good about your
team and you love the, guys but there's a there's
a part of our part of our philosophy is like
what are we? Missing you, know and and.

Speaker 4 (01:02:45):
Like like how do we get?

Speaker 8 (01:02:46):
BETTER i, mean you, know it's just how we.

Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
Roll, Hey, john we were Talking Josh, Graft Ryan lawrence.

Speaker 4 (01:02:53):
Early.

Speaker 5 (01:02:54):
Awesome what's the benefit of having guys that you have
that much history? With and then how do you incorporate
new ways to keep perspectives?

Speaker 7 (01:03:03):
Fresh?

Speaker 8 (01:03:05):
Oh well new? Perspectives yeah that's. Great, yeah there's a
there's a. Challenge so first of, all the cohesion and
being able to be concise with your communication and like, quick,
easy non. Rambling we don't read, reports you know WHAT i,
mean you can just get at things really. Quick you

(01:03:26):
can solve problems just a you, know just in a quick,
manner quicker. Manner on the flip, side the point about
like what are we missing out on is like there's
always this challenge of, like, okay, well you know there's
a there's a possibility this player could be this or you,

(01:03:47):
know whether it's, character whether it's you, know off the field,
stuff or you, know then on the, field like the
play good and. Bad you, Know i've seen the. Good
we we we basically try to accentuate the positives we've
seen the player do. This the easiest thing you can
do as an, evaluator, say and the safest thing you

(01:04:08):
can do for your, uh your job stabilities basically say
like like guy can't do, this and you can't do,
that and you can't do. That, okay well then we're
gonna pick like somebody's got to, play you. Know so
it's just a, constant, like you, know just inquisitive challenge
for these guys all the time of like knowing at

(01:04:29):
the end of the day who the player is as
much as they possibly. Can but at the end of
the day when we bring, them when we bring them
in the, building they still were still learning. Them you,
know there's guys that have been here three years that
we're still trying to figure, out like not trying to figure, out,
sorry trying to help on On.

Speaker 5 (01:04:46):
Steven do you see on the right side or the
left side or.

Speaker 9 (01:04:52):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Either?

Speaker 5 (01:04:54):
Thanks, yeah we'll figure all that out.

Speaker 4 (01:04:58):
Later.

Speaker 5 (01:05:00):
John nice to be able to have the little margin for.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
Finger oh, yeah that was.

Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
Fun.

Speaker 8 (01:05:04):
Yeah oh, sorry it's been a long. WEEKEND i was
Like steven's huh, sorry oh bo, yeah, sorry, yeah that's. Fun,
yeah it WAS i forget whose idea that was this.
One it was pretty. Fun anything?

Speaker 5 (01:05:19):
