This involves an unlikely hero. A man named Bruce Schauber
was in his basement when a propane heater malfunction and
filled the space with carbon monoxide. Now, because he lives
with a chronic lung condition, the fumes just hit him
super fast, so he did the one thing he could
think of. He called out to Alexa and asked it
to contact his wife, Jill Well. Jill was at work

at the time, but she heard this voicemail coming in
from her husband, and she knew something was wrong because
all she heard was kind of muffled attempts to speak.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
She called the neighbor to check on him and then
dial nine one one, and when.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Firefighters arrived, they discovered extremely high levels of carbon monoxide
inside the home.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
But luckily, Bruce is okay.
