That's that's on my bucket list. I haven't gotten around
to it yet, but I'm going to.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Well, I tell you what, if you get here, you
got a free place to stay. Gina's got three extra bedrooms.
Now I do.

Oh wow, okay.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah, Well, it's going to be great having you here
in town. It's it's a warm time of year. By
tell you, the Astro Amtheter is a great venue and
you're going to really enjoy your celebrating twenty years of
songs about me? Does that seem possible to you?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
I know I was surprised when they told me, you know, don't.
I don't keep up with stuff like that. And somebody said, hey,
this is the twentieth anniversary of Songs about Me, and
you know, yeah, it was kind of shocking. I couldn't
believe it. You know, time, time does fly.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Well, that just did a remix of Hockey Talk Badonka
Donk and uh what you have you heard the remix?
What do you think about touching something that was such
a huge hit for you?
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Somebody did play that for me a while back. And
you know that that song just it's got legs. You know,
it just keeps going. People remix it and do what
they're I don't you know, I think it's funny. Go
ahead and knock yourself out.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
You know, it does have legs. It does have legs.
Left right, left, right, left, It does have legs.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
We're talking to Trace Atkins Trees. But we're gonna fast
forward to your acting career as well. You played some
pretty tough characters on screen. What what is one role
that you'd love to play that might surprise your fans?
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Well, that role that I've played in that. I can
only imagine movie that was fun. We just did part
two of that. We just wrapped on that about a
month ago, so that should be coming out in February.
And I enjoy doing that. I like working with those
(02:34):
people and that that character that I play. Uh, you know,
it's so strange to actually play a real person and
he's on set every day, you know, because he's a
producer and so yeah, it's just fun to just sit
around talk to Scott and we laugh about you know,
how is that how it actually happened? And he goes,
(02:54):
that's exactly how. You know. Wow, we have lots of fun.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Talk about the group mercy me. If you haven't seen
it yet, I can only imagine it's a it's a
it's a great movie. What about your your newest film,
Day of Racketing? Tell us about that and what was
your experience like recording doing that role.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
I was there one day. Really, That's one of those
things where yeah, Sean reached out and wanted me to
be a part of that. So I drove down to
Georgia and uh, just I was there for a day
and you know, and said the words they wanted me
to say as menacingly as I can say, and that
(03:34):
was about it.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I can't imagine you saying I love you and not
sounding menacing to me.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Actually, yeah, it doesn't thing to bother.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Too. That's good talk with Ray Sachins. Of course, our
nation's birthday coming up, Independence Day the fourth of July.
You performed at the Opera Salutes of the Troops concert.
Tell us what the troops mean to you personally.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Oh, I love those men and women and spend as
much time with them as I can. You know, we
we're always doing something with those guys. And I've been
very fortunate to represent some very noble veterans organizations over
the years, and just finished doing some new things for
(04:23):
one New Order project, and it's just an ongoing thing.
I just I have such respect for them, and I
tell people all the time, look at you know. The
answer to why I do all that stuff to me
is pretty simple. It's also selfish. If you have a
chance to hang around with heroes, you know you should
(04:43):
do that.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, it's awesome.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, you know, we're a military town here. We've got
off at Air Force Base, so I know, and I
know we've heard before that you're just you know, obviously
you really support the troops and we so appreciate that. Yes,
I want to go to your voice because obviously you
have this amazing voice and you're actually you're hilarious. People
think you're kind of intimidating, but you're not. You're so funny.
Have you ever used your voice to like prank somebody?
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Prank somebody in what way? I mean? Only impersonation I
do is lurch off Adam's family?
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Could you do that for us?
Speaker 3 (05:21):
You rang? That's all I got?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Dead on man. Okay, Now, I promised Gina I wouldn't
do this, So I'm going to do it. But with
some one chance, we have to talk to Trey Sakins.
May never get this opportunity again. There is twenty seventeen.
We were at the ACMs in Las Vegas. There's a
nice little breakfast put on at this hotel and there's
a bunch of radio people there and music people there,
(05:44):
and there was Trey Sakins sitting having enjoyable breakfast with
some people. And Gina walks up behind Tray Akins. It says,
excuse me, mister Akins, I don't want to bother you,
And you said too late. That was one of my
favorite moments in all of our.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Time together, Buddy, and I knew you were kidding, but
it was hilarious.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Wait a minute, were you kidding?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Were you kidding?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
My favorite one when people walk up and say I
hate to bother you, and I go, you know what,
there's stuff that I hate to do and I just
don't do it.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
That's funny.
